TAFE is drawing to a close. Just a month to go, and all the hard work that comes with it.

It's such a delightfully thin line, too. Submit it then and there (or before then, and at a different location) or FAIL. With the extra weight of REQUIREMENTS.
It's not looking too shabby at all right now. I've three lines (ie spoken sentences) to put into it, and four lines to "lip sync". Quotation marks, cause it's really not a great job, but it'll suffice.

The only problem is the 400kb filesize limit WHICH I AM APPROACHING AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT. I'll probably go over so there will be some desperate dicking around to keep it under.

NOT THAT IT REALLY EFFECTS THE DA VERSION ANYWAY?

Also my voice is totally awful. I should never ever ever ever voice act anything.

And then Illustrator crashed.
As I was getting ready to leave.

Did I mention it was a summative task? Ie: "Hand it up or fail the course."

In perhaps the best twist in my life so far I had been playing around with that image, including copypasting it into Photoshop as both pixels and a vector image.

I tried exporting the paths into an Illustrator document, but that didn't work. I tried some other thing and that didn't work either. It seemed pretty fruitless. Then I unticked an unlikely thing and double clicked something else and it exported the whole vector image into Illustrator.

While it still needs a bit of tweaking, it'll only take 5 minutes to get me back where I was, instead of however long it took to make from scratch.

The lesson is, I shouldn't have skipped lunch I am starving right now

So, AVCON's been and gone, I haven't done anything on dA for like a week and my pageviews are dwindling. That means it's journal time!
First, to recount the horrifying event that was the Anime/Video game CONvention that engulfed the weekend.

Friday night involved meeting up with the fellowship of dudes of

We went to the AVCON introwhatsit where they play movies for some reason. There we saw some weird 5 minute thing about a Japan where chocolate is banned, and then Sword of the Stranger which was pretty radcore, some kind of japanese anime involving a sword and an unfamiliar person who owns it. And then was Wild Zero, which was quite the what-the-shit-er.
At some point *Jakesword lost his wallet. Fuuuuuck.

Early enough on Saturday morning we made our way back to town, only to encounter

in the train station. What are the odds? Obviously quite high, or at least high enough.
So the morning was spent looking at merchandise and never buying anything because I don't buy manga ever and nothing else was that interesting. Then it was 10:30am, so I entered the TETRIS DS BATTLEZONE. Having never played Tetris DS before, I figured it was worth a shot. It was a points round, 3 games of head to head action where only the top four people would be going through to the round robin at the end. I came fourth, second and fourth IIRC, and obtained enough points to come third! Or fourth. I don't know, it was like 4 days ago. Anyway I lost to some guy, beat the girl and beat the other guy, and came second!
And then I won Kirby's Canvas Curse. The guy won Mario Kart DS and Geometry Wars, but I already have Mario Kart DS and KCC is pretty timesink, so everyone wins. At this point I'll mention there were only 6 combatants in the tournament.

In retrospect I think that tournament was pushed back by half an hour, which means it would have finished around 11:00 or something. So somehow I burned away 3 hours or something doing I don't know what, probably grabbing lunch and buying crap (I did get a couple of things and a DVD, so yay). Eventually it was 2.00pm and the Brawl tournament was go. This was the CASUAL tournament, as written in giant letters. I was talking to one of the staff guys, who I call Ocelot, since he was cosplaying as the male player character of the 4th generation of Pokemon. He explained that the CASUAL tournament was for the people who want to have fun, where as the Sunday tournament was a serious business tournament, because apparently the "tourneytards" as he'd asked if I'd heard of them complained on the AVCON forums enough.

Tourneyfags ruin EVERYTHING.

For the record, the rules for the CASUAL tournament included a good lot of the items off (I noted no explosives, instant kill weapons and various others) and a bunch of the stages. Oh Big Blue, why do they hate you so?
An unfortunate twist of fate saw my first round efforts derped after I accidently killed myself in moments I could have recovered. The worst part is that I had the SAME FUCKING STAGE I played on in last year's Melee tournament. Rainbow riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide!!! I lost miserably and fled the scene.

So many more hours went by and it was Quiz Night time. Some notable features of this years Quiz Night include questions I knew the answers to (games), questions I was fucking clueless on (anime), an embarrassingly awful Rickroll attempt, Round 9, VERY LATE PIZZA and a twist in the end. Our team, the Super Happy Funtime Team of Excellence and Grandieur, rose to the challenge and by round 3 we were coming third! Then we dropped off the top three and nobody knows what happened.
Round 9 was "The internets" which really meant "the 4chan memes and some other stuff".

Yes, we get it, some people visit 4chan. Thanks for RUINING it for me.

HUNDREDS OF THEM

First, there's that thing I've been working on for that group I'm part of.

Then there's Pikmin thing *Duke has impatiently been waiting for that I started and then thought over and then didn't do anything on for like 3 months.

After that, OR MORE LIKELY BEFORE IT, I wanna do a looping Flash animation. With music. But I can't put the music on deviantART. More like DEVIANT CAPITALISTS AMIRITE

And at some point I'd like to do some DOOM stuff because DOOM is a fun game.

Although I'm currently doubting my skill to do that last one, I GUESS WE'LL SEE WHEN WE GET THERE.
