2. I dislike nouveau riche and social climbers. Worst kind of people in the world. Need I say more? Inferiority complex to the max is what they are all about...

3. I am an anime geek. And a yaoi fan-girl. Most of my friends don't realise that about me though...Don't know why...

4. Do not take away my Sunday newspapers. I bite. In other words, I feel obliged to know about politics, not just my country's. World politics. Le Monde Diplomatique is my favourite newspaper and I suggest it as a read to everyone who enjoys the pleasures of using their brain.

5. I dye my hair in different colours and I usually prefer shades of purple. I blame My Little Ponies for this. As a child I wanted colourful hair like them! Actually, the first time I dyed my hair I dyed them lilac like my favourite MLP, Glory. Currently I have four streaks 2 magenda & purple and two sky blue & turquise. The rest is my natural chestnut brown.

6. I've never eaten at McDonalds, KFC or anything of the sort. It's a matter of principle. Or should I say principlES. Most of my humanitarian and aesthetic principles are being violated by the mere existance of those places.

7.I don't have any pictures of friends&family members in my space. Pictures like that are for photo albums, I don't like them being on display.

8.I love listening to stories about places, myths, anything like that really! Which is probably why when I visit places alone, I prefer the company of older people. They are such a source of stories like that! I love them! They discribe a different sort of reality, one that books cannot provide most of the time, and you appreciate the value of the place you visit a lot better!!

I have not been able to contact my family in Ancient Olympia and I don't know if they are safe or not. I don't know what's become of our house, our olive and orange groves. A few minutes ago they announced that the ancient monuments as well as mt Kronos are on fire and there is nothing anyone could do, the flames are over 40m high and winds are too strong.

I want the people behind this burnt to death, like the 53 people-so far- who were trapped in fires so strong that the helicopters could not approach. I want them burnt like the approx. 14,500 km² of forests that have been burnt so far. And I want them burnt like the 3000 years worth of history we just lost.

I finally finished the book! Yay! I have crossed over to the side of those who know. I can be online again like a normal person! I am not afraid of spoilers anymore!

Other than that, I am in Greece and it's wonderful. It's amazing how different the nice weather can make you feel and -to be honest- I had had more than enough of rain. The first few days I was still tense, but now I am starting to relax and I am in such a good holiday mood! I am able to relax and enjoy the gentle breeze! There is nothing quite as wonderful as a cool breeze when it's 40C.

Every time I fall ill lately I spend it watching shonen anime. Last year I watched Bleach, this winter it was InuYasha and now it was Naruto's turn! I was actually really curious about Naruto since I see so much Naruto fanart here! The point is, I really enjoyed Naruto and now i can understand why it has such a huge crowd of fans. What I really liked about it though was that the characters change a lot throughout the anime. They start off as completely different people and you can actually see them progress and mature!

Out of the lot - because there are A LOT of interesting characters - the one that got my attention the most is Gaara. He is a complete sociopath. He had an extremely traumatic life, he has lost all sense of sympathy for other people and all he is interested in is killing. He needs to kill to confirm he is alive. To most of us Gaara's way of thinking and behaving seems like fiction, but unfortunately it is not. He reminded me of the story of two twin guerrilla boys I had read a few years back. They had joined their guerrilla army at age 10 and by the age of 12 (same age as Gaara) they were leading it. They were ruthless and vicious and had committed numerous atrocities. I don't know what has become of them, but reading about them make me really sad, to say the least. There are so many places in this world were violence is the only way to survive. What sort of life had those boys led that made them become the way they were. If you removed them from that sort of a life, would they change? However, even if you did try to make things better for them by removing them from that sort of environment, I am sure another 10 would turn up, ready to take their places.

What I am trying to say is that we are embarrassingly unaware of the political situation in other parts of the world. All we care about is ourselves; we never stop and think that these things happen because we allow them to happen. We are so good at looking the other way, but if you think about it we are all responsible for what those boys-and everyone else that has suffered like this- went through and for what they have become. They carry the weight of our greed, since it is the needs of the ‘modern world’ that force them into those lives.

We have created so many little Gaaras. When will this stop?

Other than that, I am home in Grc now. I got so stressed the other day that I just booked the first flight home. I had about 6 hours to pack, but it was fun! I didn't get any sleep, but I was too excited to sleep anyway. I did crash on the airplane though.. Even the airhost teased me cause I didn;t wake up at all during the flight! The best part though was that I hadn't told my family I was coming and they just couldnt believe it!

Note 1: The song 'Melissa' from the Full Metal Alchemist soundtrack is an excellent song to wake you up. The band's name has the most random name ever though.. 'Porno Graffitti'. Why would you give that name to your band? Really..

Note 2: Random wikipidea articles can be a nice break when studying intensively, as long as you don't fall into what I call the 'Hyperlink trap', i.e. going from one page to the other, opening tabs etc. I have fallen into that trap too many times!

Note 3: If you like anime and manga and have never watched/read Death Note, do it now. It is excellent!

We also watched Equilibrium (I cannot get over how hot Christian Bale is in it) and Transamerica (uuugh... that guy makes me drool...). No, we didn't do anything related to those, I just had to say how hot those guys are.

One final note. Be warned when watching Alexander a.k.a. "women are snakes". Collin Farell's balls make an appearence. As if he wasn't butt-ugly himself. Loads of other hot guys though.. (uugh.. JRM... we all love a bit of JRM...).

The sweetness of the anime "Honey and clover" is unbelievable! And I overdosed I'm afraid! I watched series 1&2 in 3 days...I really feel like the mood emoticon now!! I wish there were more episodes!... At least it made the pain go away! I have a sprained ankle and since I want it to heal asap I don't walk around much, hence the anime overdose. It really was worth it though!

Other than that I'm getting ready for ~Sigebryht and *yukis-all-mine's wedding on Saturday!!! ~Sigebryht's hen night was great! I never had the chance to ride a limo before, let alone push it!! Aaah! We'll remember that night and laugh for the years to come! Now I'm going to study again... meh...

Good news
I'm going to Greece to visit my family and friends and -hopefully- get a new passport. It all started yesterday morning when my brother asked me when I was planning to go home. I looked around on some websites and found the cheapest return tickets I could possibly find! So I booked them and I'm leaving on Sunday and I'll be away for two weeks! The most exciting bit is that, as it happens with cheap tickets, I am going to land quite far away from home which will give a good opportunity to travel around a bit! It's nice to be with my family, but it's even nicer to be a glandestina for a couple of days!!

It's nice when sudden happy things happen like that!!!

1) I cannot and should not under any circumstances have chewing gum in public. I start chewing like a goat, strech it, blow bubbles and other annoying things like that.

2) I can postpone doing things like tidying and end up having a room that looks like it's been raided by 6 wild coyotes, 5 bulls and a tazmanian devil.

3) I meaw. Yes, I do! And I don't even realize it most of the time. I think I'm on my way to becoming an old lady with loads of cats.

4) I succumb to my ~Sigebryht's wishes easily. Usually it involves watching yaoi, staying up all night playing games and it always involves me giving up on studying.

5) I drink my tea with a ridiculous amount of milk in. It ends up being more like tea-flavoured milk.

6) When I read a book I get totaly absorbed in it. I won't put it down unless I've finished it! I even cancelled my first date with what later became a boyfriend cause I was reading the Lord of the Rings. Lucky for him, I read fast
