She goes from talking about how some word is repititious to something about having a vendetta in New York against a dead author's daughter and being an alumni of 'Murder' (or maybe, like, a Murder Investigations department... something like that; she wasn't very clear on it). After the teacher calls Security, she leaves, telling us that we all better remember what she said. She wasn't making a great deal of sense. Ironically, something Stranger than Fiction happening in a Fiction Writing class, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hoax. o.O

For approaching half a year now, I have been taking an Iaido (a companion swordsmanship art to Kendo) class run by some of the best teachers in the country. Seriously. they're REALLY good. Two of them have been on the National Kendo Team, and I think one of our guest teachers who comes every few weeks is at that level, too. They drive us really hard, but as a result, I've learned to spot my own mistakes. I'm still just starting out, of course, but I HAVE stepped past the point of total n00bism.

More to the point, they're holding the exams in something like five days. I won't be participating, since I haven't spent enough time training (nor do I have a metal blade; I'm still working with a wooden one), but I do wish to go watch. I also want to attend the seminar beforehand.

The problem is, Iaido has, like, NO information online about it. XD Not even on their official site. I've looked and looked, and the Interwebz have failed. ^^ I'll probably still go somehow, but... it's amazing how little info there is online. Guess it's mostly a word-of-mouth thing. The seminar is the important part for me, since some of the people who practice Iaido that are even better than my teachers will be there. I can't wait. XD

*Shrugs* 8 facts?

1. As one with Asperger's Syndrome, I view the world from a broken mirror. I can craft my reality into what I wish it to be.
2. I have passed twenty thousand posts on GAIA Online, and am one of the first million users. XP Gimmie that Angelic Halo!
3. I am working with comic-burn on a manga-style series called Project Orion. Go check out his art; it's good. VERY good.
4. I have done work for a Scanlation group as Rednal.
5. I have almost no talent in art. Via the First Fact listed here, though, I'm working to get better. But it's not good enough to put up, yet.
6. I LOVE demi-humans. Any sort of bonus appendage, from angel wings to spider lower body, is likely to catch my eye. Especially for spider-girls. >.< They're just so... so... cute! Normal humans can get boring after awhile, after all, but trying to come up with the physiology of a girl who's half spider is unexpectedly fun. XD
7. I enjoy Console RPG's, and am currently writing a story styled after one.
8. I am going to make somebody I know IRL call me "Goshujin-sama" (Japanese for "Master") sometime. Just because I have absolutely nothing better to do than pull such ridiculous stunts in an effort to make my life more interesting. Liz, I'm sure you're reading this, and just so you know, it's you. ((comic-burn, you're still awesome! I'm talking about characters from other stories of mine that it would be impolite to ask you to draw!))


Thus, I went and got a book called "How to Draw in your own Manga Style". See, I don't want to draw CLAMP's way, or Ken Akamatsu's way, or Tite Kubo's way, or anybody else's style. I don't need to hear "do it exactly like this". <3 The book I got had better advice for teaching me how to draw.

"Sit down for 15 minutes a day and draw your hand." Sounds like good advice to me, since I am SUCH a beginner. *Laughs* I'm actually doing it. Once I can get a digital camera or a scanner, I'll post some of what I have. And don't worry, I'll have at least one picture that isn't a hand.



In the meantime, anybody know a tutorial for how to draw faces? I CANNOT draw a good face to save my life. >.<
