In July, I am going to Brazil for 3 months to stay with the Heralds of the Gospel. I came across them when i saw my parents watching Mass on EWTN (the Catholic TV Channel). They wear the most unusual and amazing habbits, I have ever seen.

For anyone who is interested in them here is some information about them:

Name: Heralds of the Gospel

Founder: Fr. John Scognamiglio Clá Dias

Motherhouse: Sao Paulo, Brazil

Spirituality-the 3 pillars: The Eucharist, Mary and the See of Peter

Charism: "Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48) Basically, everything they do is done in a ceremonious way both in private and in public.

Community life: They don't take vows and are lay people. The Heralds live in masculine and feminine communities and practice celibacy.

Evangelization of the Youth: The Heralds are mainly people of around my age (17). Some are younger and some are older. They work with young people and they visit schools, hospitals orphanages, prisons etc. The Heralds of the Gospel are fond of music, art, drama and the media.

***
Here are 2 videos from their website (in English):

[link] This shows Sister Agnes from Our Lady of the Angels Monastery (Mother Angelica-EWTN), recieving the cape of the Heralds of the Gospel. (like not working at the moment-trying to fix it)

[link] This shows the Heralds Charism and its activities all over the world.

Enjoy and feel free to ask me anything!!! Iwill also put some pictures of them in my gallery!

You know, no matter how many other films I watch, or actors I see and like, I never tire of Orlando. I am devastated that he will not be in the next POC - if they ever get round to making one. What a tragedy.
Actually, from an art point of view, he has a very interesting face. He is good-looking [of course!!!] but there is almost a hint of sadness in his face which is very hard to capture - even by the best Deviants. He does look like he is a truly 'nice person'. Very unusual for a superstar.

You see I get plenty of practice at studying his face as he is on my mug, my wall(s), my folders, my magazines, my computer background, my 'My Pictures' folder etc. etc. and etc!!

So, I guess you COULD say that I am a bit of an Orlando fan.

Are there any other Orlando obsessives out there? If so, take heart. You are not alone! Leave a comment. I'd love to hear from you.

I also felt like this yeaterday and the day before and the day before that.

I bought the soundtrack for POC At World's End yesterday and have been listening to it non stop. It is so inspiring and beautiful and makes you feel heroic and capable of commandeer a ship and sail the seas.

So I feel like doing some sketches of the characters. I think the last time I drew Jack was in one of my boring Maths lessons in Year 9.

I decided to draw a series of pictures based on a few of the families in my story. It's fun but not really helping, as I should be trying to finish the last few chapters. But at the moment it is nice to have a break and go back to drawing. I really want to draw a portrait on a big piece of cardboard that is in our shed. So perhaps that might be my next project!

I started another water colour painting today. I sketched it out while I was eating my breakfast this morning and I have now started to paint it. I think that i will temporarily call it the Lone Adventurer.

Once again it will be another late night but I can have a lie in in the morning (or at least i am planning to.That is if no-one starts drilling through the walls at 8am!)

Well, this is my first ever journal entry here and I hope it will be the first of many. I will have to try and find some pictures now. That should be interesting for I haven't seen the inside of a couple of my art books for just under a year. I really want to do a water colour picture but as it is gone midnight, I think that is out of the question. I suppose, I could do something tomorrow-if I can think of something to draw. My mind always go blank, when I want to do something like paint or draw. Oh, look at the time! I think that a good nights sleep is crucial if I want to draw anything in the morning!
