Be back ???

ETA: Whoa, guys. I didn't leave over drama or people being insulting or anything, so chill out. I posted months ago that this account was being put into stasis and just got around to it yesterday, so this isn't really sudden or anything.

The short version is, my life has been careening in a new direction as of the past year or so and after a lot of hard work and strife. I changed from being an animator to art education, and decided that my online life needed to be cleaned up. That includes my gallery, with a lot of artwork that I consider way below my current skill level and not something I want representing me online.

That, and...well, I'm just not the same artist I was a few years ago, and the site has changed a lot, too. It was a fun ride, but dA has gotten very, very crowded, and unless you're a Big Name, the exposure is minimal. But to everyone who did watch and enjoy my work, thank you! I may be back sometime in the future, but for now I'm not sure. I do have a public writing and art blog that I have been building up, though, so I may link there eventually. If not, look around BlogSpot for Artasaurus Rex. That'd be me.

To be honest...I just got bored with the site. I've had less and less time for art that doesn't directly relate to university for over a year outside of trades and other stuff, and most of those have been tossed onto my FA since I keep my anthro art there and everything else here.

To everyone that faved and commented my works while I was gone, thank you. I don't have the time to respond to every single message that people left me, so here's a big collective thanks. Not to mention I was pretty much copy-pasting my "thank you" messages on the WoW stamps, and don't really think I need to do that 33 or more times.

Also, I'm going to be making some changes in my gallery, so you may want to pay attention. Here, I'll put it in caps. ABOUT 70-90% OF MY GALLERY WILL BE PUT INTO STORAGE SOON AND THE IMAGES WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC. IF YOU REALLY LIKE A PIECE, DOWNLOAD IT FOR YOUR OWN USE.

This isn't an "OMG LEAVING dA FOREVAR" post, it's a "I'm going into a professional career and need to only show my best art online" post. So..yeah. Anything that I believe does not reflect my current talent will be put away soon, and anything "controversial" removed. I may in time load the images back up with stamps for what year they reflect, but for now, mass-storage is just easier. Things like the WoW stamps will remain up. I'm proud to see how far across dA they've made it, but I've just lost interest. I haven't played since April to be honest.

TL;DR, save my old art for private use as you may not see it again for a long, long while in the next couple of weeks.

If I have time to myself, I'll draw and upload better art. I'm still watching everything you guys put out, but for now I'm stepping back for a bit.

Due to my trying to change my major and GPA grinding, I don't update as often as I'd like. If you're looking for my furry art, it is almost exclusively posted at [link] now, not here.

Also, my commission prices have gone up. I've spent nearly 4 years in art school learning all sorts of trades, and believe that my personal growth merits a better price now. See that up there? Now, I leave that tag in my journal, because it's what I believe in. The faving system on dA is a great thing. You can tell someone you like their work, keep tabs on the pic for later viewing, keep fanart in your cache, whatever. But at the same time, it allows people to be really lazy about things, and not bother commenting at all. And you know what? I think it's pretty damned rude when people fave and fave and fave without a word.

Now, don't think I'm ungrateful or anything. If I see a fave in my inbox, I'm happy. Someone liked my art! But...usually, they don't say why. It's a blank 'I like this'.

......ooookaaaay, but why? Was there something you liked about the charaacter? The composition? The colors? What?! If you don't say why you liked a piece, you leave the artist hanging. It's like going to a convention and browsing all the art tables, and just blankly staring at a piece and purchasing it without ever saying a word. The artist you like gets no feedback, and has no clue as to why someone bought their work.

So the next time you go to click the fave button, just leave a comment on the piece. There would be a lot more happy artists if people did, especially on pieces that specifically ASK for comments (like my stamps, which have a giant label asking for one...)

Also, some of you may have noticed the watermark on my latest piece. And a lot of people were pissed off over this. Why did I do this, you may ask? Simple. It's. MY. ART. I made it specifically for ONE person to have free use of, other than myself. I was, however, courteous enough to post it with a slight alteration in my gallery.

Why? Because theft is getting rampant. People are treating dA as a stock image site some days. Go onto eBay and look around, or take a jaunt around Cafe Press. You will find stores with a TON of stolen artwork. I've had friends ripped off like this before, and don't intend on letting it happen to me. It is far too easy for someone to come into your gallery, save a nice res piece, and profit off it without your consent by slapping it onto clocks, T-shirts, whatever.

Will I be watermarking all of my pieces? No. The only pieces you will see watermarked are direct fanart (like the Pokemon piece). This is to hopefully deter art theft in many ways, because as it is all-too-easy to claim an unmarked work as your own in another gallery. Also, if it bothers you that much, ask me about it! If you want to see a non-marked image, TALK to me! I'll happily share the unaltered version with you. Just not with the whole world.

Anyway, onto my main point! Recently, I've come back into my Pokemon kick pretty hard, and have discovered the PokeDolls at the Pokemon Center. And being an artist....I can't afford them.

Yeah. I never update this thing more than once a month, so don't look here for news! This is art-only shite, not real life!

If you would like to read about my daily life, ramblings, character profiles and memegens, though, I DO have a real journal here: [link] . It's friends-only, but give me a poke on AIM or something to let me know who you are and I'll probably add you. I'm pretty laid back about it, but like to keep the crowds under control.

As for update on this front, there isn't a whole lot to say. I am slowly working on art when not being distracted by Bleach (supplied by our weekly download *worship*) or class. To say the least, this semester is BUSY. I've removed the boffer weapons and custom hats from the commissions, because in 6 months I have never received a single order, so out of the 'shop' they go.

I have, however, added an option for avatar/LJ icon drawings. For now, I'm asking $5.00 apiece, but that may go down if people think it's too high. You'll receive an original art piece that is 400x400, plus the icon sized one. Not too bad if you wanted a one-shot portrait of your character.

Anyway, that's it from me. You'll probably see some more art here and there from me pretty soon, if I get through cleaning my room today. I have a Bleach-related pic of my chara that I really want to do, but it may have to wait. o.o

Okay, so I'm back in the Boro again, and thank God I am here. I hardly got anything done over holiday, mostly thanks to stress from my parents, especially my father. It's amazing how much your emotions can affect your art output.

So what's up now? I'm working on my art pile again, and my start putting out some art that will be available at Tekko this year. For those of you that aren't familiar with it, Tekkoshocon is an anime and Japanese culture convention in Pittsburgh, PA. It runs from March 31st to April 2nd and I will be there all three days! Be sure to drop by and say hello (and buy some art!)

And that's it for now. I have a busy semester with jewelrymaking and animation, so updates will come and go as I have time!

Yep, not much to say this time around, I'm just tidying things up a bit. It's almost the New Year (well, not the CHinese New Year yet, but oh well) and I'm trying to set everything on order. That and I wanted my pissy little rant taken off the front page.

New Years resolution? Clear out all this art I owe @_@ If I owe you art, I will sincerely try my best to get to it soon, and I mean it this time.

Just a warning, outside of owed art and stuff I draw to relieve stress, you won't see many updates until I leave university for the semester. I plan to have the Star Wars chibis up by Christmas, so no worries there.

This week and next, however, I will be swamped. In total, I have a book, a professional logo, a master replica and a deep space painting due by the following week. I don't get these done, my ass is toast.

Upcoming drawings? Owed works, exchanges, two badges, and hopefully a piece themed after my and Cardia's Jak-universe charas. The details are a secret until I finish, though.

EDIT:: Yep. I deleted any of the scribbles I had of General Grievous in my scraps. Why? Because I am fucking sick of people fave-shitting. It is a SCRAP. Some cheap little joke that I had up that wasn't real art. But each one, respectively, had four faves. Faving and commenting is one thing, but just running in, faving it because it's OMGGRIEVOUS SQUEE! and leaving is damned stupid. Yes, I'm mean, but there are PLENTY of other well-done pics you could go after. I am not a fan of the General, and don't want to be known for scribbles of him.

Ahhh, I am finally getting through that giant art pile of mine. I've finished off three pieces already, and if time permits it I will finish up a lot of others soon. Along with this, I will probably open up my badge trades again, so watch this journal for announcements.

Speaking of badge trades, I would like to say that they function like any other trade. I am giving you a fully colored, shaded, laminated and clipped badge. I'd like work of the same quality in return. This doesn't mean that I will turn you down if you are inexperienced, but rather I like to feel that the trade is fair. Basically, don't give me a pencil scribble with some color dripped onto it and claim that you are beign fair. So if you are going to trade badges with me, please be ready to laminate, clip and ship it yourself. Having me send you a ready-to-use badge and telling me that I have to print yours off and process it myself just isn't fair, y'know?

Hm, what else. For one, I finally got my hair recut and my back adjusted, so I just FEEL good all over. Having your back and shoulders gone over by a chiropractor feels great, and I now have freedom of movement that I'd forgotten I possess.

Okay, so obviously I have been on a HUGE Hellboy kick recently. I would like to continue this, but unfortunately, funds are pretty damned tight at the moment.

All of the money I get from my rents right now covers living expenses and food at school, and that's about it. I haven't worked in a month, and any purchases I've made have come from scraping together what cash I can sneak out of the house.

Hell, I can't even do my original costume for Halloween now. I WAS going to go as Jack Spicer from Xiaolin Showdown, but I just can't afford the materials on my budget. So you know me, if I can't afford costumes and books, I am POOR.

*sneezes* Ugh, what a time to get sick! I'm blaiming this on you, Mike, those comics were contaminated! But yes, I've contracted a rather nasty cold, hence my lack of updates and general slack attitude towards dA these past few days.

So I'm sorry for the lack of updates, they are stupid of me. I am, however, working more on my backlog of art that has been haunting me half the year. I have most of the prizes at least in the sketch stage, same with badges, same with trades. It's just a matter of taking the time to put everything together and add color.

What lies on the horizon, then? Well, my first anniversery here at dA is coming up, so I'll be doing a commemorative piece for that. The SW chibis will be finished by Halloween, and I have a few other projects that will see the light of day soon. Expect some more Jak art (mainly of Grav and Llette) when I get to replaying 3 again, and heck, maybe I'll photograph some of my paintings and show them off.

Alright, now I'm rambling. I'm gonna take my benedryl and go to bed.

Oh yeah, I'm back. And hey, I even gave you all a sample of my graphics class. Aren't I nice? *dies*

The flat is lovely, and there have been very few issues so far, so I'm quite happy living here. It's quiet (unless the neighbors are awake x_x), there's nice little shops nearby, I can play DDR again, and I have found a new obsession: Xiaolin Showdown.

Okay, so I wanted to give you all a fair warning. Between now and August 28th, I will most likely NOT be submitting full deviations. I need to tie up some loose ends around home, get items back into my possession and finish projects this week, so my art has to take a back seat.

Why is this?

Oh, just moving into my apartment with three of my good friends! ^_^ I can't wait, truthfully. Whenever I'm at school, I feel so much more free and such, and always seem to crank out more work. I'll be sure to take pics of the apartment on moving day, after we've decorated, et cetera. So stay tuned!

Damn, in a little over a week, I will be back in the Boro for another eight months or so. I wish I could say that this summer has flown by, but it really hasn't. So let's do a wrap-up:

Events:
- Seeing Episode III twice
- Going to the HP Book 6 Launch Party
- Hanging with my cousin for a week longer than usual

Good Things:
- Rediscovering the Star Wars fandom
- Getting some more advanced costuming done
- Keeping my job
- Beginning my fursuit

Bad Things:
- Deteriorating relationship with my dad
- Dealing with work stress
- Emy losing her kitty
- Being tied to work all summer and thus unable to travel
- Getting stuck in Rocky Grove with hardly any friends

So overall, not my best summer by a longshot. What a pity.

The good news, though, is that I will soon be opening a new type of commission. Anyone who is interested will soon be able to place orders for custom fleece hats. I need to set a base price still, but I am guessing them to be in the $30 range, more depending on amount of detail. But hey, I love sewing, and can finish a whole set within a weekend, so we'll see how it goes once I'm organized.

Holy lack of updates Batman!

Yeah, things have gotten a tad rough around here again, leaving me with little creativity left by the end of the day. I'm sorry for this, but the combination of hot weather, a stressful home life and working 4 days a week with two 3-hour shifts a day does take a toll on the body and mind. Once I'm back in school and moved into the apartment late in August, perhaps my creativity will pick up again.

Hm, I know I have other things to announce. Oh yes. If you would like to do an art trade or badge trade with me, I have opened up a waiting list. This means that if you really want to trade with me but missed the last opening, you can at least get in line, so to speak, and maybe get your trade a little quicker. This does NOT mean that a trade has begun, only that you are being considered. If you are on the waiting list, please do not draw anything for me in advance, or expect something from me. That is all taken care of when you are actually in a trade. ^_^

And please, take these trades seriously. As the lovely Quillblade/blitterbug puts it, "a trade is a promise". I will be more than happy to do a piece of art for you as long as I receive the same respect in turn. This has yet to happen with private trades, but I thought it should be brought out into the open. And with badges, please only trade if you intend on being mailed a hard-copy of the badge that I create, and the same in return. Badge trades are just that, and receiving a real copy just makes it even better.

Sorry bout that lull after my ecstatic last journal, I ran into many problems at home and was not feeling at all creative. But now I have a break away from said problems, so I can play catch-up.

I really don't have much else to say. I'm looking forward to the launch of the 6th Harry Potter book on Friday at midnight and will be at the Eastwood Mall in costume for the event.

And yes, I am still obsessed with Star Wars, if you can't tell.

Mweeee!!! ^_^ Thank you SO much for helping!

A dAer who wishes to remain anonymus has paid for a full year of dA for me, and I cannot thank them enough! And in addition to that, bought me an extra month as well. And THEN he bought me another three months as well! ^^ This just makes my day that I have friends who are kind enough to help out when U'm in a pinch. It really touched me.

Erm, onto my point. Due to the very quick response, a week from today I'll be shutting down my offer. If you want to toss me a few more months in exchange for some art, you can still do so for a week, but after that it's back to the regular commish prices.

Yes, I've once again lacked to put forth any 'real' updates aside from scraps and inside-jokes, and I'm sorry. I guess I just got distracted again, but with all my trades piling up I WILL get some of them done!

Anyway, down to business. My badge trades are open, as I stated last time, and there are two slots left. Sami and I are planning ours as we speak so we can have fun and send them halfway across the U.S.. ^^

As for the art queue, I have no clue as to what will get done first. I'm going to say the artxchange, because that one has a big ol deadline creeping up on me. I'm just lost as to what to do with the character, and I want to do a good job because I wound up with an artist I really admire and I don't want to mess it up. Stressssss @_@

After that, I will alternately focus on trades and contest prizes in turn, with any commissions I receive jumping the line. This is in no offense to any of you that have been waiting a long time for art, but commission = money for Reiko, so these works usually take priority because there is an actual customer behind them.

I am currently regretting my inability to buy things online, too, as I found two different Kit Fisto figures (chibi Kit! eeee!) in the SW shop at the official site, and I really want them because 1.) he has become my favorite chara from the 'new' trilogy, and 2.) the stores around here SUCK when it comes to carrying decent toys. All we have are minor character after minor character, with a few oddballs thrown in.

Okay, that's enough rambling. My eye has started feeling much better recently, so I will hopefully hop back onto my art wagon.

Hot hot HOT!! >_< It is so hot in my bedroom that I'm afraid Eddie will overheat! I forgot that western PA gets like this in the summer. Ugh...

Anyway, onto business. I didn't mean to update again so soon, but there are a few issues and announcements that need to be addressed.

One is that I have reopened my art trades, since I'm feeling brave and am a sucker for seeing my charas drawn by other people. I only ask that you are polite about it, and limit yourself to one character since I don't want to draw group shots right now. Also, I would like to know who I am trading with. Friends come before total strangers.

Secondly, I have to make an announcement regarding requests and such. I will not name people, but recently I have had others badgering me for free art. Unless it is under specific circumstances*, I will not draw for free. That is what commissions are for. Do not offer me admin positions, web space, or anything like that. I only accept monetary payments or items from my Amazon list.

And that's about it. I'm open to commissions and trades, so feel free to contact me!

*These circumstances include art that I draw for friends when I feel inspired, or if I have voluntarilly joined a project and am drawing for them as an artist and contributor. I do NOT do blind requests.

I am sorry, everyone. I've tried and I've tried to get this art out on time, but things just keep cropping up to block me. By the time I come home from work, I'm usually beat for the night, and don't want to draw. And when I DO draw something, it's only for my own interests, or a random gift for someone that I don't owe art.

And I can't thank you all enough for being so patient. No one has bothered me over art I owe, but I still feel so guilty. I've left you all hanging for two months with no results. So I will do whatever it takes to get the art done when I can. I don't know when it will be, but it will get done.

For now, I'm going to head back out to work, finish my shift, collect my pay and try to relax for a few days.

Alright, since no one posted for the interview, I'll just put up a new entry instead. I guess I babble enough that you all already know everything about me.

So what has the Reiko been doing this past week? Mostly reorganizing ALL my games and systems (a monumental task considering that I collect them), working on a summer cosplay and *gasp* working on the contest prizes! I'm so easily distracted that it isn't even funny, but I will get them and the 2222 kiriban out ASAP. Just been a kind of off week.

What's on my agenda, despite work, drawing and cosplay? For one, I intend to finish Jak 3 in the coming weeks. I haven't touched the game since well before finals week, and would really like to finish it up. Other things just tend to steal away my time. I also wanna finish up Ratchet and Clank, but that, too, could take awhile because I am bound and determined to get EVERY gold bolt and finish EVERY mission.

Oh, and a small note, the contest prizes will be finished in the order that the winners ranked. Neo will receive his first, then Mel, then Alison and Coral. Look for them in the coming weeks! ^_^

Also...has anyone else had some SERIOUS trouble with devART recently? My faves never show up until weeks after I have listed them, and my recent works refuse to show thumbnails. Add in that it takes hours for new deviations to hit my inbox, and I get a little ticked. Let's get back in gear, devART! People aren't paying for crappy service like this!

And I'm done. Well, not technically as I DO have a 3D final, but after that I'm out of the dorms for good. I'll be back home and working at my job, but I will also have a lot more free time than I have had in my studies. And you know what that means? COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN!

You heard me right. I've finished enough of my art stockpile that I feel confident enough to open up commissions once again. The price chart has been listed for weeks, so if you have been considering buying art from me, now is the time to find an open slot.

Payment on commissions: I will not begin work on a drawing until I have received payment, preferably in full. I can only accept money via standard mail, so the amount should be payed in either the form of a check, money order, or well-hidden cash. I say this because the postal system in our fair country sucks, and they WILL steal money from you if given the chance. So disguise it as a letter or something.

Still interested? Great. E-mail me to ask about anything you need, and I will provide my address for payment purposes. Please be patient, as commissions can take a little while to finish. I am yet to work out how to manage shipping costs, but all works will be shipped in a standard manilla envelope unless otherwise noted.

Also, my offer still stands on keeping me a paid account user. You buy me one month on dA, you get an inked digital pic of your choice. You don't receive a hard copy, but hey, cheap art!

Well, it IS finals week, but that isn't stopping me from posting art! I'm getting caught up on everything while I get ready to leave the dorms, so don't be surprised if I suddenly stop talking on AIM. It prolly means I'm packing. XD

But I do have a proposition for you all. I'm starting to enjoy this whole paid member gig, and would like to stay. However, I don't have the means to STAY a paid member after July. So here's the deal: you pay for one month of keeping me on paid devART, and you in return get a free request piece of art. Nothing fancy, just a little commission from me in return for helping me out. I will be notified by e-mail if you do this, so I can keep track of who I owe art. Pics can take up to two months (as usual) to be created and given to their owners.

NOOOO!~ I didn't get ANY of my assigned art done yet, and I only have two days left! >_< This is what I get for being such an irresponsible idiot sometimes!

As much as I hate to say it, charaxchange might have to go on hiatus for a month until I can learn to properly run an art trade community. I mean, if I can't even get my own trades done, I don't think I should be running a community BASED on them!

Looks like I'll be doing some catch-up over the weekend now, otherwise I'll feel really bad for not getting my trades in on time. They're drawn, but I need to photoshop them both.

Aright, considering that I have a reading day this Wednesday, I have resolved to catch up on all of my owed art. This includes both my entries for artxchange and charaxchnage, along with possible updates of a contest prize, and perhaps some of my original stuff.

I am very happy to actually have a day to myself (even if it is spent slaving of Photoshop), because the past month has been hell. I will not go into detail, but I will say that there are some people on this campus that I cannot stand, and do not care if I ever have courses with them again. I simply hate being around them.

That, and I am goddamn happy to be moving out of the dorms in less than two weeks, as the girls here (and their boyfriends) have forgotten that it is common courtousey to at least let a person by in the hallway!

I'm staying in my room from now on. -_-

2.) Limits on fan characters. Yes, you can request that your ROCKMAN-RELATED fan character be drawn, but please don't make them so horribly complex that I want to rip my hair out.

3.) No more than 3 charas to a pic. Once again, more would be frustrating for me to draw, and it tends to make the pic look cluttered.

4.) Do not bitch at the artist. I am a VERY busy college student, and do this kiriban because I love to draw, especially when it is gift art. I have the right to revoke your art claim if you e-mail me 5 times a day, bitching at me to work faster. I have a short temper as well, so I wouldn't recomend this. Depending on the complexity of your request and how much time I have, it can take up to two months to complete your piece. If I go over this limit, I will offer you a bonus in addition to the kiriban.

finally, 5.) In the event that two or more people hit the same kiriban, one of two things will happen: one, I will hold a random drawing for who gets the request, or two, if the decision is between a friend who I draw for all the time and a relatively new friend, the newer person will get the pic. It's only fair this way.

Ugh...as much as I would love to update my account more often, I'm lucky if I can get one to two pieces a week up anymore. Why? Mainly because college is getting in the way once again. I simply don't have time to finish up any art, and what I have posted recently is mostly backlogged art from a few weeks ago.

I honestly cannot wait for this semester to end, mainly due to certain people on this campus that are irritating the hell out of me and the scheduling office screwing us animation students over. I'm going to end up graduating later now because they did not provide us with enough animation courses to go around.

Aright, enough venting from me. I'll update whenever possible, but for now everything but contest prizes and monthly exchanges are on hold. No commissions, no trades, no requests, nothing.

Alright, so Tekkoshocon 05 was AWESOME, but I've already done a con report over at LJ and don't want to waste everyone's time by rambling about it. In short, the con was filled with old and new friends, random battles, zombies, and hyperactivity.

So what now? I have three full weeks left at Edinboro, then finals week. And then I go home, which is both a blessing and a curse. I'm happy to leave, because I am sick of my neighbors, sick of the dorms, and overall tired of the campus after being here since August.

On the other hand, leaving the Boro means not seeing the friends I've made here for almost four months. That's a long time without Mich and Mike and everyone else, who all live a good five hours or so away from me. As much as I hate to admit it, I'll be lonely for people that understand me and put up with my rantings and ravings about fandom.

But, I can't worry about that quite yet. I still have a good month up here, and have to make the best of it amid projects and deadlines. And a messed up right leg. ^_^ I got a bit overzealous while fighting Sephy-Tyrant, and took a bad spill.

Anyway, I'll update with the art that I owe everyone whenever I have time.

Once again, I really have no excuse for not posting more art. I needed a weekend to myself to sort some details about the con out, and to catch up on my sleep. Otherwise, I would have had a major breakdown and not done ANYTHING. So doing a little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nothing, I suppose.

Wow, it has been an insane couple of weeks. My apoligies for my lack of new deviations and such, but I have been busy with my research class and a 3D Design project. That in itself took hours on end to finish. Thankfully, the new project is not as bad, but to counter it, I have a research paper due soon.

Trades and commissions are now most likely going to be closed until May, as I simply don't have the time to draw for others as much as I would like, even if it means being paid to do so.

Also, expect to see the first contest prize soon, along with a few more Jak-related pieces from myself. I've gone back onto my old kick again, and feel the need to draw my characters. They're a bit ticked that I neglected them for so long.

Not too much is happening on the homefront as of right now, except for finishing up a lot of work that I owe people, along with some pieces that I drew for myself. As for announcements, I will be attending Tekkoshocon 2005 in Pittsburgh PA [link] on April 8 - 10. I will be both selling art and badges, and cosplaying. Look for my booth that I share with in the Artist's Alley if you drop by, or check around for the Raven and Tsukasa cosplayer. That'd be me. ^_^

Also, as promised, I will be posting my Q & A section in this entry. I have a few commonly asked questions to begin with, but if you have something to ask of me, go ahead and comment, and I will do my best to respond.

Q. Why do you only draw kiribans of Rockman/Megaman characters?

A. A few reasons, actually. One, I know that a lot of Rockman fans visit this site. Two, it makes requests a LOT easier on me, since it is limited to one series.

Q. Will you teach me to draw?

A. Sorry, but I am far from being a teacher. I don't consider myself to be that great of an artist, and do not believe that I have the ability yet to teach others. I will give advice, though.

Q. Why did you draw for (insert friend's name here) when they requested art and not me?!

A. Simple. I draw for my friends a lot, because we are, say it with me, f-r-i-e-n-d-s. If I do not know you well and you ask for art, I probably won't do it. Other times I do it as gift art, if I really love a person's character. There are always commissions, though...

Q. I added you to my watch list, but you didn't add me back! This is so mean, so why did you do it?!

A. I do not think that just because someone has added me to their watch list that I am obligated to add them back. To put it simply, I'm picky. I add artists that I am friends with, or ones that I admire greatly for their art. If I added every single person that added me, I wouldn't have time to look over every single deviation! So please don't take it to heart if I do not add you in return.

Q. You stole (insert author/artist/designer's name) concepts! I'm telling!

A. If I use someone's concepts, characters, whatever, I ALWAYS leave a disclaimer at the end of the description giving credit. Please keep in mind that there are some things in this world that will be similar to each other.

A. ...yeah. If you talk to me like this, you will be reported to the dA admin. I do not tolerate trolls, as they are disrespectful.

Oh yes, you heard me. It's time for my first contest! And what do I want you to do? Why, it's very simple: draw Reiko.

...okay, so THAT was a little too simple.

Let me clarify. Reiko is essentially myself in the realm of the Internet and other such worlds. For the most part, her and I look the same, with herself being the less realistic one. But Reiko has a unique capability to jump between worlds and get herself into lots of trouble. And whenever she does this, she changes forms.

In short, I would like to see Reiko drawn in the world of your choice, taking on the local forms. Maybe she landed back in the FFIX times and took up a job as on oddly-bred thief, or she made it into the Rockman world and is chasing some robots around and hugging the Mets.

Pieces will be judged on creativity and effective use of form. For example, if Reiko is in a world populated primarily by anthromorphic characters, she isn't going to run around as a human with some pasted-on ears and a tail. Her adaptation ability is what makes this contest so entertaining.

You can find pictures of Reiko all through my gallery (she's the blonde and purple haired, goggles-wearing psychopath). Her basic traits that stay the same are her silver eyes and she always has purple and black somewhere on her, regardless of form. She stands about 5 feet 3 inches, and is boyishly proportioned.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners:

1st place: Full drawing, inking and CG coloring of your character of choice complete with background. Option to receive a print of this picture, or just a file.

2nd place: Ink and color drawing of your character of choice.

3rd place: Ink drawing of your character of choice.

I think that covers it, so you have til 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time on February 28th!

God...I forgot how much time college takes out of your schedule. >_< I've had to spend a TON of money on books and supplies this time around, and feel rather bad because my parents have to cover me. My classes are driving me a bit crazy as well.

Okay, so I finally sat myself down today and got caught up on my work. Most of the stuff I owe people is done aside from needing to be Photoshopped, and I have a new request as well. Not having a scanner is a lot tougher than I thought.

Ugh, sorry guys. I've been horrible with updates and such lately, and have gotten my priorities in a huge knot. Instead of working on my Drawing I project and the kiriban, I sat around and played Jak II this weekend, and halfway cleaned my side of the dorm room. I can't apoligize enough for being late on almost everything. I feel so horrible that I haven't done the kiriban for Preventer, but everything has just been crazy.

Okay, enough moping and apoligizing. Updates are going to be fewer and farther between this month, because I will be at home on winter break for 3 weeks, come back for 5 days, then take off to Ohayocon in Columbus. (yay!) I don't have a scanner at home, so to get ANYTHING scanned, I have to go to a friend's house. This means that whoever hits 888 on the kiriban will have to be fairly patient and understanding of this.

Luckilly, I do have a bit of free time during the sickeningly hectic Finals Week. Tuesday and Thursday are both very light, so I may be able to get some work done. 'May' being the key word in that sentence. As for this week, I doubt that I will do much of anything. I have a huge project due tomorrow that I now regret putting off.

**I am currently open for art trades. In case you aren't familiar with the concept, an art trade is where two artists draw each other's characters, and exchange the art as a gift of sorts. I have 1 slot open if anyone is interested in doing this, so it's first come, first serve. And don't be afraid to e-mail me about it, I'm actually very nice!**


*NOTE ON KIRIBANS* Just a small disclaimer, don't freak out. If you hit the correct kiriban number and get to claim your art, please abide by the following rules:

1.) No hentai. It goes against my personal moral code to draw hentai under most precepts. This includes any sexual act beyond kissing/hugging. Sorry, but I just don't DO that. And as for yaoi/yuri, I tolerate it, but for the most part won't draw it for requests.

2.) Limits on fan characters. Yes, you can request that your ROCKMAN-RELATED fan character be drawn, but please don't make them so horribly complex that I want to rip my hair out.

3.) No more than 3 charas to a pic. Once again, more would be frustrating for me to draw, and it tends to make the pic look cluttered.

4.) Do not bitch at the artist. I am a VERY busy college student, and do this kiriban because I love to draw, especially when it is gift art. I have the right to revoke your art claim if you e-mail me 5 times a day, bitching at me to work faster. I have a short temper as well, so I wouldn't recomend this.

finally, 5.) In the event that two or more people hit the same kiriban, one of two things will happen: one, I will hold a random drawing for who gets the request, or two, if the decision is between a friend who I draw for all the time and a relatively new friend, the newer person will get the pic. It's only fair this way.

Eep, I've already hit my next kiriban, and I haven't even begun work on 444. Forgive me, !

Anyway, I'm back from Thanksgiving break, and feeling better after some much-needed rest. The new problem, though, is that I have finals coming up in a few weeks. The good news is that after they're done, I'm on break for 3 weeks. The bad news is that if you hit my kiriban during or before that week, it may be delayed due to college taking priority over my 'fun art'.
