up on my TODO list for some time. I've decided not to do it anymore. A few of my friends sat down and told me I was selling myself short with this project. Basically I am designing the characters, drawing character sheets, and coming up with color schemes for only 5 dollars a page. And they encouraged me to spend my time doing something more worthwhile.

Fuzz is a good guy, but lately he's been asking me about it to the point where I wonder if he really understands how much work he is asking me to do. I feel like I'm back in Collins with Marcus translating his short story into comic format, designing weapons, cars, uniforms, characters, cities, all without fully understanding what the plot actually is.

But at the same time this is my first commission ever. No matter how many times I've made myself available for commissions, no one has ever given me any work. That's why I started my Anime Request journal. I feel like the only way to get suggestions and feedback from people is by selling myself short and giving it away for free.

I see people with less talent than me getting commissions on this site every day.

What does a girl have to do to make some money?

So now I tried going a day without doing work, hoping to satisfy my anxiety by letting it chillax. When in reality I became more stressed and guilty that I didn't spend the day working on projects.

Because honestly. You never have NOTHING you could be doing.

So in my sad attempt to veg out in front of the television with a friend, I in turn developed this disheartening gap in my chest.

I had that stressful reoccurring dream last night. So I slept through my animation class today to feel better rested.

It was just a workshop anyway.



Anyway! I'm working on a little animation I think I'm going to put up on DA. I usually don't put up school assignments, but since I made everything by hand (except the music), and has been keeping me away from other things I usually put up here, then I figure why the hell not?

So I figure DeviantArt is a good place to get... well... art, right? So I type it in, plain and simple: "Halloween." And you know what I get? More little chibi anime girls dressed up in witches costumes than I can stomach in one sitting. And Kingdom Heart fanart. Lots. Of Kingdom Heart fanart.

So once again I am disappointed in the art that is deviant. Keeping in mind that this searched was shifted through continuously even from years previous, I honestly don't know what else to do.

Be better at what you do.

I got a commission by a fellow classmate, which is exciting. I've been told I sell myself short by doing requests instead of commissions, but I know what it is like to be poor and if I'm not getting paid, I'm not going to go all-out anyway, right? Hence why it takes me so long to go through the list. Commissions always come first - regardless of when they are given to me in relation to a request. I accept requests because I think they will be fun.

I am currently in the works of several drawings.
Many Anime Requests and the like are still on the burner, don't forget.
And I'm also trying to pull out of the dusty archives some Reoji images for (No, I haven't forgotten!)

But I am also polishing some other stuff that I think I'm going to put up. So hopefully my dry spell has coaxed some rain and I'll be putting stuff up regularly again.

It's difficult finding time to draw when I have nothing to procrastinate.

Thanks a ton to whoever helped me get it in the first place! As much fun as it has been, I don't really have the money to pay DA for a new subscription.

I'll still be puttin' stuff up. I'm just gonna lose some features.

My layouts will still be available for whoever wants them but without the ability to check up and see what they look like, I'm probably not going to be making any more.

This also means that in the anime request journal, I will not be able to feature the deviations since (last time I checked) that is a members only feature. I will replace them with direct links, however.

It's crazy. After this quarter I will have been in Savannah for almost an entire 12 months. And this quarter ends next week. Just the thought baffles me. o_O

Some of you may know that I am working diligently on my final for my Digital Form, Space, and Lighting class here at SCAD. Basically it's just a fancy way of saying "Intro to Maya for Animation" where we only focus on modeling, texture, and lighting scenes.

Because of certain aspects of Maya 2009 that are unavailable in Maya 8.5 (the version I have on my laptop), I have been spending most of my time in Mongomry Hall (the Animation/Visual Effects/Game Design building). Basically the building is just full of open rooms so in order for me to get to my work station, I have to literally walk through 3 other classrooms. Walking by stations, I've noticed something very important that people tend to do in Maya.

Over rendering.

This is a bad thing. And for anyone who has used Maya before it is very easy to do... But over rendering is the opposite of being realistic. You can have beautifully detailed layered textures but if your lighting sucks or is too "default" it's as good as crap. Lighting can literally make or break a scene, not modeling. You can have a very minimal model with slightly more detailed texturing and it will look phenomenal under the right lights.

But if you over customize the lighting, it can actually (aside from render time) improve your scene in many ways. It's texturing that I see people over render in...

Texture is a very difficult thing to achieve. There are easy little things here and there you can do to make it easier and UV mapping has literally saved my life (I only wish I knew more about it).

The biggest things people tend to do that is trite, over done, and the easiest way to make a scene "appear" complicated are bright textures, upping the specularity (shinyness), and upping the reflection.

If you look around a room, any room you will see that very, very few objects in that room generally have all three qualities. And even if they do, it is very subtle. If you look into the screen on your cellphone or a pole in your bathroom, you will not see a perfect reflection looking back at you.

Yet people tend to do this constantly when doing 3D scenes.

It's the fastest way to make something look like it's been rendered in a computer and it's bothers me.

Another way people do it is to add a "grundge" layer on top of an object to make it appear dirty. But they do not put a bump map on top of it, so people put dirt on a smooth and shiny object, then the dirt appears smooth and shiny. As if someone freshly painted a bike or a car, threw dirt on it, and then waxed it. It's ridiculous and painfully obvious.

Why is it that I even see seniors doing this? People making this their profession? To send out to major companies? I see unnecessarily shiny, reflective objects in demo reels. I see a single lambert shade with the color changed on an entire piece of geometry.

Ugh.

Just... ugh.

I think it's rather funny. I used to marvel at Vennie Veritas' () flash animations and think about how awesome they were. But now that I'm making it my career and I've gotten some formal training, I can't really enjoy them as much. They're riddled with mistakes...

Still if I was enjoying them for the first time right now, I would still find the work he put into half that stuff a spectacle and I'm still a fan. I wish he would come up with some new stuff.

Plus he's the one who got me interested in using Flash as a frame-by-frame animation tool rather than creating symbols and squashing it like most Flash animators do. So I still think those influences are grounded.

I just think it's bizarre, is all.

I've been revisiting a lot of the stuff he's put up on his site and it really has encouraged me to take a lot of the assignments I've been doing in class (hence why I haven't bee posting anything) and applying them to flash animations. I have a tablet finally.

What do you guys think?

Kind of tired of all my journal layouts. I think I might go back and make a new one - a simple, elegant one. But we'll see how much free time I have.

Starting my Animation classes will take up a lot of my time and most of my outside projects will concern people I know in real life and that I'm close to. So sorry if the requests take me even longer. If you really, really want to see them, don't hesitate to hound me about it.

I know someone is already beginning to pester me, and I think it's a good thing. I might just go ahead and do hers first even though she's a way down the line simply because she actually seems to care.

I'm doing these for free, afterall.

Also, art trades come before requests, seeing as I'm getting something in return. Plus they tend to be friends of mine I do art trades for, so that's still a priority.

I'm not going to bore you guys with my life so we'll leave it at that.

Surprisingly enough people really responded to Bionic Dominance. I honestly didn't expect anything like that and it caught me a bit off guard. I just considered it a doodle I was putting up for the sake of not putting anything up.

So I figure I should just try to put a few more things online that I just doodle. Not many of them will be colored, by the by. But they will be done.


School has been decent as far as what is being required of me. I still need to 3D model a room. I suppose to a professional that won't take long, but I'm trying to focus my sights on textures and lighting and it seems like my professor is willing to help me with that. I'm a little excited.

Almost finished with my photoshop project. If I finish it tonight, it will be up.

A lot of my time has been spent going to the Telfair Museum here in Savannah and drawing pictures of statues and such - none of which are worth putting up here. Fine Art doesn't seem to have much of a place on DeviantArt.

Not 100% thrilled to be back in Savannah but that's simply because of my room mate situation, of which I will spare you all the details.

Some people may have noticed aside from checking my messages I have become rather inactive on DA, so I will let ya'll know what's been happening:

WOO! That was easy. I also set up a LiveJournal account and have been putting up what I can only describe as "junk" up there whenever I draw it (unless it's for a specific person. Then it generally goes straight to him/her.) So if you notice me being particularly lax here on DA, you can expect I have been putting up something on LiveJournal. Because I never actually stop drawing.

It's a curse.

Marcus had only written up the first chapter before showing it to me to start working on it, but the thing about it was he had written it up neither like a script nor as a storyboard but as a short story.

Though I read it and I had alms about some of the characters and I wasn't at all into the "special task force" concept that he had established, I thought it would be an interesting collaboration between the two of us and would be a good experience putting myself under a weekly schedule with something being due.

As some of you may know, it lifted up rocky. The first thing I had to do as the artist was to make character designs, which I did not mind. Those were hard for me and forced me to branch out beyond the pretty-boy anime style I was so accustomed to. I have Marcus to thank for broadening my horizons.
Even now I do not have many characters drawn up.

But after a while Marcus and I believed we were well enough along we could start up pages. And this is where a fun little project turned into hours upon hours of work for me per page.

I had to read Marcus' paragraph-form short story and translate it into visual elements that can be used in a comic. This means organizing thumbnails, planning out how much information will be revealed per page, how the characters will interact with one another, and so on and so forth. Because only the first chapter was written and it was just them catching a bad guy, I did not get a very good insight to the characters' personalities and how they dealt with one another. So many discussions between Marcus and I were sprung up, which felt like more work for me.

So aside from the thumbnails, which I had to set aside several hours just to translate a single page of the story, and the character designs I had to then do the drawing.

As ANY of you who even pay remote attention to what I do know, I DO NOT HAVE A TABLET.

This becomes difficult when sketches are needed to be done to establish a character in a scene. Three times more work was placed on me having to physical pencil, scan, and render the images by hand and before long I was spending up to 12 hours on a page.

Some of you may not think this is so bad and I have no excuse not to get the pages done. 12 hours are surely able to become available to me in a week's time, yes?

Wrong.

Keep in mind during this time I had moved away from Arizona, applied for Savannah College of Art and Design while applying for SouthWestern Community College after realizing NOTHING from Collins would transfer, moved out of my apartment three times in Arizona before moving back to North Carolina, conducted a 25 piece portfolio in less than a month, moved back down to Georgia and started classes at SCAD, and had to move around for three weeks between Summer and Fall quarter.

This on top of, naturally, school work in general. And any of my friends who attend SCAD as well know how hard it is to find the time to do anything rigeriously art-related on their own time while taking classes here.



Do not get me wrong.
Marcus is a nice guy.
And he was really excited to let this project blossom.

But if this comic is ever going to survive anything
I. Can't. Be. The. Only. One. Working. On. It.

It takes too much time.



But I am still generous and for several months I have been sitting on the incomplete page 6.
It is not much.
In fact, it is nothing at all.
But please enjoy.

Anyway! So I started my classes and it's pretty fun. I seem to have a lot of stubborn teachers, though. I'll have to start making suck-up juice. But with what little time I've had to work on these projects, I don't know how my first impression is going to settle.

This coming from a professional teacher's pet.

ANYWAY

As may of you may have known, I went to AWA (Anime Weekend in Atlanta) which was my first convention! 8D

It also explains my inactivity.

Though I didn't dress up, I took a buttload of pictures. They are all posted in the AWA 2008 gallery on my facebook!! It should be unlocked so even nonfriends can view it!

I decided to open a small thing for anyone who's interested in putting up requests.

It's the ANIME ART request line!!

Anyone who would like a request of an Anime character drawn or colored, the request lines are now open!

It sounded like a nice hobby to do in between a lot of the monotonous class work I've been chugging through.


Things to Keep in Mind

1) It can be from ANY anime so long as it's google-able.

2) I also accept Original Character requests on this journal!

3) Images of specific characters are welcome~ I don't mind either way

4) It would help the process along a lot faster if you knew what kind of pose you want in the picture!

5) I don't do graphic hentai. A cute sexual pose and a panty shot or two is negotiable but nothing explicit.

6) I execute the pictures in the order that I receive them~

7) All finished Anime FanArt will be posted on this journal!! 8D


Want it Colored?

Right now the option to request the image colored is CLOSED!
It truly depends on the severity of detail that's in the picture! If there is way too much stuff going on, coloring may be placed only if it is needed to tell one thing from another.
To be honest, coloring remains negotiable even when the option is available.

A lot of people have been asking me if I accept OC (original character) requests as well as Anime request. I just wanted to let you guys know, that I take all requests, including fan art for American series. As long as it's google-able, I can get it done.

Alright! Here's a short update on EndtoEnd.

As you all know, I've been having some trouble getting the last page in.

Even now as I'm moved into my dorm, the weight of classes and homework has left me with such little time that even my PS2 is collecting dust.

SO

Mysis (aka Marcus) and I have come up with an agreement. I'll only be penning the pages with no values from now on starting with this one.

He has a lot of ideas planned and it's been hard for me to find enough free time to buckle down and work on a page so we figure as long as I can draw enough of one to put up then it'll at least get the ball moving.





IN OTHER NEWS

many of you may have noticed I haven't been doing much drawing in general...

I've gone back to just drawing for stress relief despite the fact I need to be working on something else (take no for example)

But just because I use it for stress relief doesn't mean I still post everything I draw. It's mostly on a "I wonder if anyone would actually want to see this" basis...

all in all I'll keep posting stuff.

Just don't expect every day to be like Christmas.

End to End is going back into full swing. That doesn't mean it will be updated again until I get the 6th page up, but it at least means I'm working on it again (keep in mind my classes start Monday and I still don't know where everything is).

I guess we really should put some bulletin things on the website for people (even though our fan base isn't exactly exploding).

Which reminds me, Does anyone know how to set up an RSS Feed?? Information regarding that would be beyond awesome.

Marcus was supposed to be in charge of that, but he hasn't shared his progress with me. Not that I blame him - if I talk to him he'll just ask me about the next page and I hate walking up to him empty handed.



I have been dabbling just a little bit in CSS and have decided it's about time I tried to make my own DeviantART journal layout.

Now as much as being in Savannah should send waves of creativity rushing through my blood, I kind of have a lot on my mind lately so I haven't been able to sit down and officially come up with a decent pattern that I wouldn't mind seeing every single day.

As a lot of you know (like those who watch my mySPACE account) I am a freak about customizing. I enjoy making things myself.

And even though I'm not the "designer" type, I enjoy seeing what I can do with designs other people have created and mix them together.
So, long story short?

Suggestions and information, people!

What would you like to see in a journal layout?

This is just a CSS experiment, so don't make it crazy elaborate~ We're just bouncing ideas here.




In other news, or more specifically for those who care about my life, I am now comphy in my dorm at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) and I have memorized... up to 5 people's names. Believe it or not, that's a big deal for me. I'm not good with people.

Anyway! I have been invited to one pizza party, one pool party, one prayer session, and one random walk to a far away cafe where I drank my first Bubble Tea without bubbles (which just made it an iced shake). It was delicious, but now it is 12am and I am hyped up of caffeine and starving to death.

There are two guys that stand out: Matt and Michael.

Matt is a cool guy. He's very sociable and tends to orchestrate all the goings on. Everyone basically follows his lead, and you can tell he loves it (in a non-snobbish way). He has a gay accent and gay mannerisms and he makes gay jokes so I'm assuming his gay (hey, been wrong before). But despite him being able to choose whoever he wants to talk to and be successful at it, he's gone out of his way to have a conversation or two with me, which I find very helpful in my habit of nervous giggling.

Michael is a semi-long haired guy who I had a blown-up-animal fight with at the pool. He's waited for me time and time again and made sure on several occasions that I wasn't by myself. He walked me at least half way to my dorm after the pool party and shares very useful information about drinking (he's 24 - but looks no more than 20 ). Though we haven't had any conversations that I would necessarily consider worth mentioning, he's a great potential friend and I really appreciate his efforts to make sure I'm okay.

Two artists whom I respect and have a hoot talking to are working on a flimsy but hilariously unpredictable comic that used to be on Y! but they brought to DeviantART just for us~
It's basically a colab between these two silly fools through the glorious .
I even did a cute little fanart for it that had me giggling up to the wee hours of the night.


Speaking of comics, I'm still working on my own cloab with Marcus. As far as comics go, it's still a baby and since its my last month home 'til I leave for college a few pages have been late. But check it out~ and if you like what you see, let us know!

I'm also working on writing my own comic which I just recently titled Hunter's Moon. Compared to EndtoEnd it will be a lot simpler and a lot more fan-based than anything. Because I can't put as much time and effort into it as the colab, I'm waiting until I get my tablet to start working on any official comic pages.
The plotline is well under way and I already have a handsome list of characters.
I've only put up two characters and virtually no information, but I think it's a nice step forward.

I presented a self-portrait during class.

No one here will see it because it was a painting and I hate taking photographs of paintings. Pisses me off that the colors never end up the same.

No one said anything. It was like it made them uncomfortable.

It was just a mask.

It was the same feeling I used to get in high school when people wanted to ask... but they didn't want to know. Like they didn't think the explanation was worth the hassle of hearing it. So they just looked at me... then the painting and I could see them in their mind associating me with it in a way I didn't like. As if every time they look at me they're going to see that twisted mask without even stopping to think they were the reason I drew myself like that in the first place.

So, to be in good spirits and to say “Hell YEAH, mother fuckers!” I'm giving a big shout out to the awesome-ass people I know on DeviantArt, even if they don't know who the hell I am.

- She moved her website to an online journal, but she's a good friend of mine and gives me a lot of feedback about my work, positive and negative. I appreciate her the most because of her originality and not being afraid to break it to me as it is, unlike many individuals who play the “that's nice” card. Despite how many people I've tried to keep in contact with, she seems to be the most consistent so far and I can't thank her enough just for that.

- Yeah. You know her, you love her. And she's got an imagination to boot.
What is this “imagination” you speak of?? Well surprisingly it's hard to come by around here.
She's a lot younger than me and over 100000000000000 times more socially popular to boot. Her style may be simple, but she's an awesome person who takes time out for other people without shooting airs.

- His style, perception of line quality, and understanding of light is worth the almost 3 million page views he has on his site. His characters are original and to someone like me not a single flaw to be found. Whenever I have questions, he doesn't hesitate to answer even if it's something stupid. An awesome guy and amazing artist, he really kicks back and dedicates himself to something he starts. Kudos, dude. Bring on the surprises.

- AMAZING photographer. He puts thought into a lot of the things he does unlike me who does most concepts on the fly due to emotion willpower... It's always a pleasure talking to him and even though I no longer live in Arizona and passed up my opportunity to ever meet him and his genius, I at least can continue the friendship we share through his work. He's been sidetracked and takes criticism about his works to heart in hopes to better himself. I have a lot of esteem for him and even though he may not recognize me when I leave him comments, I'll always support him.

- I don't understand her half the time and I usually can't get a response from her, but her ability to bring out the best (and most perverted) aspects of her characters makes me want to keep her on my friends list. She encouraged me visually to challenge my characters and how I can better define my body language and facial expressions. Sometimes I wonder if she has anything better to do but think about sex, but there's a lesson to be learned in everyone.


And there you have it. After four years on DeviantArt I only really found 3 or 4 people who were awesome, well-rounded individuals who didn't just join this crappy site for the sake of their own egos. I hope people take the time out of their “busy” schedules to visit these guys and give them positive feedback that doesn't include the sentences “I liked it,” “cool,” “awesome,” “that's funny,” or “that's good.” Because there's nothing worse than one-liners.

Been watching a lot of Scrubs lately – especially season 3, but only because that's whats airing on the teli lately, even though I'm kind of spoiling it for myself for when I get the season some day. Love you, Coxy.


Though a lot of mental debate and reminissing on a few conversations I used to have with my Arizona buddies at the Mills Mall Linens-n-Things, I've decided I am officially a ninja. But not just any ninja! I'm a Neenjah-Pierat [A ninja dressed as a pirate]. So I will sneak on “enemy” territory and suriken them fook out of them! MWAHA~ Kickass...


In case you haven't noticed, I'm in extreme pain right now 8D and must vent out my inability to move by spurting out things that I would otherwise find obnoxious and annoying. I love hocky... even though I can't skate.


For those who care, no art projects lately. Most of the things I've been doing have been for little light studies or just to vent out some boredom so I can act like I actually did something with my Friday night. I'm currently working on my portfolio for SCAD, which isn't going so well but I can't tell my mom that, and I thought shutting out a few art projects from people would help me concentrate when it only wants me to draw random crap I don't have to do on my own (sorry, Marcus. That excludes the character sheets I owe you). SO I guess all bets are off and I'll start taking suggestions for drawing ideas again.

My enrollment at Collins College? Nonexistant. I filled out my "drop-out" form last October and am no longer taking classes nevertheless paying tuition to that school. Sure I'm in a lot of debt right now but the good Lord has blessed me so much in my life I think I can start payments on it soon when I get accepted for another job. If you'd like to know what was wrong with the school, it just seemed to be going downhill, despite its sudden interest in national advertisment. I suppose I should blame my own stubbornness for not getting out of it at the first red flag but I suppose I was just waiting for someone in my family to finally agree with me and go "... I think you need to get out of there." So here I am.

I'm currently living with my parents and going to a Community College in order to get transcripts into the other colleges I've applied for (Yes, that whole year at Collins was for nothing because they are not nationally certified and I do not transfer - yet another red flag I should have acted on from the beginning). My schedule is simple and allows me, like I hoped it would, to get a part time job while I sit down and try to get my official portfolio up by May, though my mom wants me to turn it in early. It wouldn't be a bad idea, but I wouldn't want it to get lost in the shuffle because they might not even look at it 'til the due date.

The college I was mentioning, which was my first college of choice, is SCAD: Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. It's a very well known school not to mention very, very, very expensive... you pretty much pay for the name, but everyone in Savannah warms up right away to a SCAD student regardless of their origin and they say it's helped the most with the development and preservation of the historic district in that area. ^^ Not to mention, unlike Collins, there aren't rumors going around saying you won't be able to get a job with your degree because of graduating there. So I'm happy. I got accepted at the end of last month and am looking into some housing options since housing is so expensive I might as well rent something a little closer to my classes and the Animation building, which is pretty far from the beaten path.

All in all, I feel very good about my decisions. SCAD will also help me tone my 2Dimensional skills, which is what I think I need to focus on at this part of the game because 3D is nice but you can't do both and I don't really have a knack for getting the stiffness out of 3D characters yet. I'm positive 2D will help.

I've been praying a lot, and I believe that God is helping me in my decisions here so I do not feel the least bit sorry for leaving Collins, even though it means I had to leave behind all my friends at work in Arizona. I am trying my best to keep in decent contact with them, though many of them I don't even know how to contact...

And I just watched this pretty cool anime that isn't licensed yet (Those are the best kind.) It makes me glee 'cause it's a mystery thing. Besides the fact the main character freaked out a little too early on in the 4-episode eventness that lead up to his death, it was still amusing enough to make me stay up 'til all hours of the night then prance around idiotically until I finally passed out after praying to the Lord for sleep.

I'm sure if we could actually measure how many people are like that, we'll come to at least 80% of the US population. Of course, there's no way we could be able to test that for sure and just asking people will just get a lot of "wtf? Are you on drugs?" comments.

When I put things up in my journal, I get a lot of "Why don't you submit those into Deviantions and write out your life in your journals." Well... For one, I hate people who blog about nothing. As if they affect me. So obviously I don't want to place the same torture on other people... Two, I couldn't think of a way to do so while making it interesting. I like to think I have enough of an imagination that I can express my feelings without addressing to myself in first person. Which brings up the mystery as to why all my abnormal Journal-filling characters tend to be male. I don't even know the answer to that...

And for those who think I'm some kind of Lesbian and don't know about it, I'm going to nip that in the bud right now. I love men. Tall, lean, sexy men.

Look at me! I've been typing for a good 5 minutes and haven't tried to express anything through some strange alternate reality. Kudos to me~ um num.




In case you guys show a glimmer of caring, I'm moving away from Arizona. Yes, sad. I know.
At first I felt a little bad, but after a certain conversation I had with an old friend if mine, I haven't felt sorry for even a moment.
I'm moving to North Carolina and am going to take some community college classes to actually get a few transferring credits into Savannah College of Art and Design in Georga. Why? Well, to make a long story short, Collins is a hoebag. Nothing more, nothing less. I've talked to a couple people and have even heard it be called "the joke in multimedia education." Yes, sad. I know. Next time I decide to make a huge decision based off money, I'll think twice.


I've been obsessing over stories Anna and I have done. I've been a bit of a slacker keeping up with my characters, though. Because I'm constantly distracted during storytime and don't analyze them enough to keep them in character.

Here is a piece of my mind. It is a peace offering.

I stood in the middle of a black room. A red line comes down across from behind me. It is not that I cannot move to look behind me. I find no motivation to twist my body back to look.
The red line stretches out before me.
It is the shade of blood.



Here is a piece of my heart. For safe keeping.



I stood up slowly from an angle that appeared as if I was coming out of the ground. He didn't seem to notice my achievement, however, so like him I saw it as no great feat. I want to see things as he sees them. So I reached out my legs and stood next to him. To see things as he sees them.
There was a street corner. I could not pay attention. His body was radiating warmth and the throbbing beating of my heart against my throat gave me the illusion that I could sense his heartbeat, pumping the warmth around his body. And with this connection to his vital rhythm, I throbbed happily in suspense.
“Does he like me? Doe she like me?”
What a stupid question.
Of course he doesn't.




I walked out of the elevator slowly, my hands tucked thickly in my jacket to keep them from the cold. I could feel myself crying out for someone, but I could find no one to comfort me.
Looking out across the hallway, I saw a figure walking by. I could see his warmth and feel his heart. I stood there, drenched and drowning.
His steps were thick and cold.
Before long, all I could see was his back getting smaller.

I see it so many times. I have never loved, nor will I find romance in my future. But I prefer it that way. Because every time I see Jake cradling his heart in his arms and petting it gently as if reassuring a child everything will be alright, I feel as if this happened to me.
It makes me cry.
And it makes me feel like the one putting that noose around his neck is me.
And it makes me wonder what it would be like if it were my legs being sliced off on the subway tracks.
And it makes me hate the people who think I should like them just because they like me.

The boy was chosen. Why he was chosen perhaps was merely because he was jaded. All his life he would stand outside that door, wondering if the room across from it would be any better than the one he was in. No, it could never be better. He looked back into the shadows of his room, away from the glowing white door. Red came into view from the tiniest bit of light. Two bodies were strewn across the corner, covered in their own blood. He couldn't leave this room. His parents were here...

“Open this door, goddammit!” She barked, throwing her fist against it.
“Leave me alone, Jose. I don't have it!” Her brother defended from the safety of the other side.
“I know you have it, Ross! Open this door NOW!” His 'do not disturb' sigh clattered to the floor with her forceful fist.
He jumped uneasily and took another step from the door at the sound of the thin metal. A loud crack filled the apartment and a grave look came upon his face as his sister came toward him...



“It won't close.” She observed with a hiss.
The door swung easily left to right. The hinges were unsurpassed from time and wear. However, as it came closest to its sitting position, the lock would not fit firmly into the wall... obviously due to the fact that it was several inches too low.
“What the fuck kind of craftsmanship is this?”
“Don't cuss, Robin.” The tall figure said in a monotone voice. He blew a puff of smoke into the foyer. “At least you get a hot tub.”
“Kinda useless when you can't even shut the door, don'tcha think?” She said sourly as she walked upstairs to see what her new room would look like.


“What? You like that movie?”
She blinked, pulling her eyes away from the TV. “.. uh... Yeah. Why?”
“It's just a bunch of prostitutes dancing on stage.” He stated like a fact, moving out of the door way to get a better look. “It reminds me more of something that Aoshi would like.”
“It's not just about the dancing. It's like a satire. Making fun of the justice system and general public in the 1920's-30's.”
“Well, I'm glad you found something to it.” Vence rose an eyebrow steadily as the girl across the TV did another unnecessarily high kick.
“Shut up and go away. I'm watching this.”
“Weren't you watching this yesterday?”
“Shut up!”


“Every door has a name, a beginning, an end. What else could it have? An invention brought upon by man to emphasize privacy could be such a huge symbol. And I've been surrounded by them my whole life. You hear that, God. You think too hard!” He pointed his hand up toward the sky before teasing his lips with the cigarette. “Ah.. but it doesn't matter anymore. Being numbed of the mind from work, my brain shifted slightly to one side.

I've decided to start my own little twist on it. I'm going to do the list, yes, but it has neither do the artist's block nor for the inability to come up with my own inner meanings behind drawings.

I'm going to do animations instead of drawings. Short, meaningless animations whose only purpose is to better improve my perception of volume in 2D space and even improve perspective, if I go so far as to add backgrounds. Most will be done on flash mixed with traditional-type media (some things might be practiced on a lunchbox before I even put it into the computer, depending on how extensive the movements and what I need to study).

I imagine I'll be working on this project for several years... between work and my actual studies, I won't be able to churn out an animation a day like a lot of bored high-school students I know can do. Plus I should be working mostly on my demo reel, which is still under storyboard production. I wanted to make Leica Reel for it since it's my first music video concept and it wouldn't be too bad being hired as a storyboard artist. ^^ Here's hopin'~

We're working in Studio Max right now. It's not all that great. In fact, I kind of have more fun with 2-D a little bit more but maybe my tune will change when we started animating and suddenly it becomes so much easier... just changing camera angles and dragging joints other than all that redrawing every detail stuff.

I don't have as much time for requests as I thought I would - especially now what with class and I hardly have time any more to play with photoshop, even though I need to work on some imported backgrounds for a new animation idea I'm throwing around.

There's no protection. The only way you can get protection is if you get your own site. I can't even afford one of those useless subscriptions (which I have experienced – won a free trial, TWICE MWAHA!), nevertheless anything that takes hours to build just for someone to go through it once.
Two? I hate the people here. It's so hard to find a nice person. All the people that you see have good traditional works – turns out they were lying! And they just drew the freaking outline and did the rest on photoshop or painter. All the people you actually want to learn something from are all up on their high-horse. If you have so many pointless comments to check, make it so people can't comment on your page and only accept notes from people. Usually the people who go “oh! That's so cute” won't bother to go to your main page and click the note thing unless they really really like it. And then you get a favorite from them anyway so you just have to take five seconds out of the day to send them a little love note in return. Makes life so much easier, doesn't it? Oh... Sorry, I forgot. The reason your head got so big in the first place is because you could look up and whine to yourself about how you got 120 messages today when yesterday you had 240. Poor baby.
There are exceptions. I've found some awesome people here, but they've all been average to slightly above average artists. You know. People my age that are slowly progressing in all areas (value, form, shape, body language, composition, proportion, perspective, etc.). And they dabble in photoshop because there's a good chance their field in the future will require being familiar with it.


So, what does this sum up to?

Shut the fuck up and deflate your fucking head, rat-ass bastards.

Plus I was working head-strong on my Animations final for my first class. It made me so happy~
but it's so freaking long... I don't know if I could sufficiently scan all those little frames and put it on Motion Artist.

Maybe when I'm bored.

I don't really feel like ranting about it since I've kind of been ranting to one person after another while they all call me up and ask me about it.

For the 411 -
I lived in North Carolina for all my life.
One day, I thought I could use my artistic skills in Animation, so I began looking into colleges.
Due to money matters, and hurricane season, I ended up in Tempe, Arizona.

Tempe is right below Phoenix.
Looks really funny from an airplane...

I hate riding in the western part of American on an airplane.
There is nothing there... (no offence to those who live there... but seriously. fly a plane over the east coast and it's like.. mountains, rivers, streams, houses, roads, clouds, lakes, canals, valleys, grassland, swamps and so on and so forth. on my experience over the west, all I saw were a bunch of squares and creases in the ground where rivers had once been...)



All in all, Arizona itself is okay. Since I don't own a car and either carpool or ride the bus, I haven't gotten to explore or anything. But from what I can tell, it's a pretty nice place. There's nothing so horrible that I wouldn't recomend living here, but there are no significant benefits for someone like me that I can necessarily think of to attract anyone here.... except for the whole asmtha thing.
The only real danger is the Baseline (which is a road) rapist, but that's in Phoenix (yes... that one road goes all the way between tempe and pheonix). People are saying they caught that rapist, but there are a bunch of copycats running around molesting children now... so... *shrug* just as long as I don't walk around by myself, I shouldn't have any severe concerns.




And a reason why I can't add any deviants is because I don't have internet connection. It's free wireless on the complex, but I have yet to find a compatable method of attaining that connection. So... meh I'm mooching from my room mate right now. She's so nice~
