Now that ya'll have been duly warned, I shall continue on...

I know it's been a while since I've done anything on here. I've been sort of, distracted and feeling out of sorts with the world. In a very introverted state, I have even forgone coloring any of Andre's new works that are in the making and still a secret though I have images that he sent me for my birthday. Goddess love him.. he does spoil me so. But you know I've been feeling out of it when I've not even touched color to his line art.

I'm starting to feel better as things move along, and I am finding a certain sense of strange, and in some ways disquieting, contentment with my place in life at the moment. I'm not sure where I am going in my life, but I can say, looking back, for better or worse, though not always fair, pleasant or fun, and in fact, sometimes it was rather cruel, life wasn't always dull or even bad. Sometimes it's been amazing and seemingly perfect. I have also come to believe in a few things that I already knew, but knowing and believing are often different aren't they? *man, is it me or was that a lot of commas? *

All that said, I decided to search out images of some of the men involved in my life as it were. I'm a hopeless fangirl, and this is my self serving journal. It's long, it's full of win and If no one but my own girls look at it, I won't care... I'm not often selfish, but this is one time I've done something with the only reason being that I wanted too. Nothing more.

I hope you can all accept that, even if you don't like it! Most everyone listed is Not only a musician, but an actor as well in some form or another. Also, the stuff listed is just my little ramblings in case anyone does read... I know I left band stuff out probably, and there is nothing in any order here. Just as I came across them I saved the stuff. Thank you all for putting up with me... ^__^

Seto Koji..Though I've always found him adorable, I've recently discovered he's a good actor, singer, guitar player and violinst. His music is a bit more Rock than I normally listen to, but I find myself drawn to it...


Takeda Kohei is someone I just became exposed to in a cheesy but altogether precious show called Kamen Rider Kiva. I loved his acting and only today realized the eerie resemblance to Seto Koji, who plays his son in the show, though they are only three years apart in age! He plays the violin throughout the show and he, much like Seto, does it beautifully...

Okay talk about frustrated!!

So, somewhere I missed the *you can't put literature in your portfolio* memo. I struggled with naming it, tagging it.. writing a bio. For anyone who knows me, you know how daunting a task explaining or describing myself is.

Finally get through it to the uploading part and ERROR: You can't do that cause it's an invalid file type: Literature cannot be uploaded...

WHAAAAAAAAT?????????????

I should not work on something like that at 1 am. Patience runs out quickly.

So then I though.. OH.. Lit Backgrounds. I'll make them prints, then I can upload them!! But I don't know if portfolio's count as "for DA only". Knowing how busy some of the people are, and not wanting to bother them with such a minor thing as that, I thought hell, I'll make something to put them on. Sure it may be basic as I'm not good with stuff like that but I can try, right? I make one, and while I like the color you can't really see the pattern on it. Moving along I think meh.. trial run. Lets add text!!



Using Paint Shop Pro X2, cause that I know how to do the background textures I set to task. Gradient, check. Texture, check. Acceptable font, check. Add text...crap...

So I can't just cut and paste cause it went all twitchy. So I had to do one line at a time. Which made ME twitchy. A short poem is fine that way, but a longer one? Never gonna happen. There has GOT to be an easier way. I know that used Publisher I believe she said, but I've not the first clue how to use that, and written information sometimes doesn't help. I've asked her for some help so now I wait.

Is this a sign? Perhaps I should have not made the thing after all? I was so irritated there at the end I put 6 fractals in it and was just like wft ever.. I'm done for now... lol

I'm sure I'll figure it out but I just needed to share my portfolio fail somewhere lol

Okay Ya'll. I feel a few questions are in order. Since I'm not much of a self promoter, I guess I just really look to the masses for answers to simple things I don't really know how to reason out...

I just looked at the little movie pimp of Portfolios and I wondered a few things while watching it.

If you weren't doing art as a means of income, would you choose to use the portfolio's personally to showcase your own work?

Many people have stressed to me that I should do it and first and foremost make a portfolio for my writing. Should I do so with all my writing, or should I be particular and choose my own, or everyone elses most favorites, or a mix of both?

I'll give it a little more thought and see what sort of feedback I get before moving forward with creating them.

If anyone else has any suggestions I am open to hearing them and will give every one honest thought and consideration before moving forward.

Lately, or rather for a month or so now, since some trauma I experienced, I will wake up with words running all willy-nilly through my brain. Sometimes its a single line that will haunt me for an hour or more while I try in vain to recapture sleep. Other times it's a few lines that follow me throughout my dreams, only to taunt me with visions of blurry lines on a page that I can not recall with any coherent understanding. They just seem to elude me.

I don't know if this is a growth or some funny way my brain is once again messing with my sleep. Not that I ever get much of that. Anyone who knows me well knows that my sleep seems directly tied to not sleeping. I have good nights and bad, mostly just disturbed though.

My biggest problem is that I don't have my glasses close at night, and without them, I really cannot see so writing may resemble something akin to a drunken chicken scratching poetry into the dirt in his coop..

For those who do write, does that actually work? Just writing down the randomness to get it out of your head at 4 am, even if it never makes sense?

Inspiration, gone...

I'm sure they're around here somewhere, but this limbo is draining. It's not warm, yet, our leaves are not yet changing. My plants decided to start growing again after those really scorching days, but just in time for it to get wet and cool enough to start to die back...again.

The house is getting cool in the morning, but at some parts of the day still so warm I want the door open. The air though is just cool enough that it's chilly to do so...

Blargh.

I wish it would just pick something to do you know?

Maybe I'll do a news feature full of fall pictures or something just to inspire me. Wouldn't that be fun? LOL I would just do a journal but to many links to follow that way

Good news though is that soon, Samhain will be upon us, and that will be so much fun! Lots of dress up and decorating fun, birthdays, and in the mix somewhere, little Shelby will be born. Awesomesauce all around...

Anyway, I'm done yapping for now. I had a little short story thingy I was working on. Perhaps I'll find a way to keep going with it. Or at least try. Or maybe I'll just print and color more of 's stuff. I just love his work

From thousands of tragic events, a beautiful drawing is born. My name is David Ilan and I am a celebrity artist. When celebrities pose for me, I create a drawings of them using only dots, a technique called pointillism. For the first time in 10 years I am creating a non-celebrity drawing for a project that is very close to my heart. This project, named Points with Purpose, gives my dots a greater meaning by associating each dot with a real person who has been raped or sexually abused.

If you have been raped or sexually abused you can join the project here (It's free), giving your real name or an alias, and have the option of sharing your story. There is also a place in the drawing for people who want to support survivors. I add one dot for every person who joins until the drawing is complete. The final drawing will be of a woman looking confident, proud and beautiful. By joining the project, thousands of people with a shared tragic experience will work together to form a work of art meant to show others who go through similar experiences that they too can feel confident, proud and beautiful again.

Every person involved will have a dot drawn to honor them.
Up close we see individuals with a story.
From far we see a woman who has overcome and grown.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's to many more!!

Over 2.5 years here and it's been a blast...

Fingers crossed for *pyroman699 I know he doesn't care much but I hope he wins or places in the fractal contest...we'll find out today!! I'm SO excited!! *see? that's me excited for him!!*

On another note, lately.... I've not been able to really create. I mean I have done a few fractals but they took much longer than they normally would. I just wasn't initially satisfied with them.

And my writing, more purging than inspired, though there was some inspiration indeed.

My brain seems to have forgotten what those colored pencils are for. I place a piece in front of me that I love and look to the pencils as always, and yet, they seem like foreign objects to me.

The blank paper, compass, templates...all just clutter on my table.

I'm told I'm trying to hard. Trying isn't my thing. My thing is flow. I just let it come. But for some reason, it's not flowing for me.

And I feel, strange. I hope it passes soon...

I have been going through so much recently, and I have wanted to write. Good emotions, bad emotions and some I've only just really experienced.But I have been struggling.

I have been so wrapped up in trying to be a 'better' writer...to do and be and try all those things that have been suggested to me that I had forgotten to trust in my own style. I love doing new things, challenging myself, learning new ways of doing things. I just don't want to lose my own style, my unique personality.

I don't want to conform to fit in and be accepted. I just want to be, me.

To those friends, old and new, who have always been so amazing I thank you. To those who have become so much more, you, too, are amazing...and you have been such a driving force in my trying new things.

To my kids; ~Laurana-Inanna ~Lorner and ~dragon-icewing
- you guys have been the most amazing source of smiles and laughter and so many other things. You are going to do great things the lot of you. And I'm not just saying that cause I'm your mama, I really believe in all of you.

You have listened to me, cried with me, laughed with me.. pulled me out of the darkness and forced me back into the light even when I clawed and screamed and begged for you to just let me go. Without you...I wouldn't be me. And I love you more than you will ever know.

Small Update: Though we still don’t know what’s wrong, Marie, my Physical Therapist assured me that I will not hurt myself by doing my normal things. The neck symptoms I am exhibiting are the same as those with Rheumatoid Arthritis and those that have Downs Syndrome. Which assures me that looking up at the ceiling isn’t going to harm me any. When I find out anything more, I’ll let you know!

So...

I went to the Physical Therapist today like normal...

She pushed about massaging the tendons and muscles in my neck like usual...

I got very dizzy, and part of my right hand went all tingly...not like usual...

She did a few more things, asked a few questions like usual...

I stayed dizzy...

Then she told me that she's a little concerned because my uppermost cervical vertibrae moves pretty freely. It's not supposed to move at all. She said my doctor needs to have me have an MRI done to find out what wrong, because that isn't normal...

I have to admit, I'm a bit scared.

I read messages/comments. Sometimes I am horrified by them. A train wreck of mindless crap that I shake my head at and try to disassociate myself from the very humanity I am tied too..

Today though.. I read something that made me smile..

No known species of reindeer can fly, but there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified. Although most of these are insects and bacteria, this does not rule out flying reindeer.

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist (except maybe in Japan) religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the Population Reference Bureau). At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming that there is at least one good child in each. Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical).

This works out to 967.7 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh and get on to the next house.

Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false, but will accept for the purposes of our calculations), we are now talking about 0.78 miles per household; a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting bathroom stops or breaks. This means Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second - 3,000 times the speed of sound.

For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second, and a conventional reindeer can run (at best) 15 miles per hour.

The payload of the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium sized Lego set (two pounds), the sleigh is carrying over 500 thousand tons, not counting Santa himself.

On land, a conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that the "flying" reindeer could pull ten times the normal amount, the job can't be done with eight or even nine of them-Santa would need 360,000 of them. This increases the payload, not counting the weight of the sleigh, another 54,000 tons, or roughly seven times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth (the ship, not the monarch).

600,000 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance - this would heat up the reindeer in the same fashion as a spacecraft reentering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer would absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of energy per second each.

In short, they would burst into flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them and creating deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team would be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second, or right about the time Santa reached the fifth house on his trip.

Not that it matters, however, since Santa, as a result of accelerating from a dead stop to 650 m.p.s. in .001 seconds, would be subjected to acceleration forces of 17,500 g's. A 250 pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force, instantly crushing his bones and organs and reducing him to a quivering blob of red goo.

Therefore, if Santa did exist, he's dead now.
