Yesterday ~HettyBubble came to my place to do her first ever pinup-type pictures. We meant to go out to the park for some 50s dresses in Victorian setting, but due to British Weather that never happened and we were confined to indoors. Which was fine. While most shots are lit in a bright, normal way, I also experimented with low/theatrical lighting (My homemade snoot again...) in some shots, which I hope you'll like. I know I do.

Other than that, we were going for a very natural, toned-down fashiony-look with these. Hope you like it, it's a very unusual style for me in terms of photography and for QF in terms of modelling, but one that we're really liking and wanting to pursue.

=quietly-filthy and I finally managed to go visit a huge derelict mansion in Germany today, and pictures from that bit of urban exploration will be showing on both our pages soon.

Here's a bit about the house itself...

In the Middle Ages the site was that of some huge and bloody (so they say) battle. A couple of years later (lol) in 1884, the house was built as an equestrian breeding/training farm. But already in 1907 the owner sold it, having discovered that the area was completely unsuitable for its purpose.

In the 1940s it housed forced labourers, one of which fell in love with the daughter of its then-owner, who beat him half to death before handing him over to the Gestapo, who hanged him. Then some years later, in 1946, a Nazi-attorney hid out there but soon hanged himself (for obvious reasons...)

People did live in the house for all those years, although it did get into a state of disrepair. It was bought by the council in 1963, and in 1967 they tore down unused wings and a great derelict riding hall that hadn't been used in years.

Until 2000 a little old lady had been living there in a small area of the house - which I find rather creepy, as it's in the middle of a small wood and otherwise by a main road - not very social at all. But she moved out (or perhaps died) in 2000, and since then it's been empty.

There have been plans to turn it into flats and/or townhouses in 2006, but apparently the investors miscalculated completely and the plans were abandoned again. Around Easter 2007, a boy hanged himself there.

And since November the fences have been torn down and the walled up doors and windows have been opened again, leaving it open for everyone and their dog (literally), ghost hunters - and photographers (!) to go into it.

We only learned of its history AFTER we got home, although we've driven past it and wanted to shoot there loads of times already. People say it's haunted, they claim to have seen "orbs" in their photos... well, I generally believe in such things, but I can honestly say it wouldn't surprise me if the "orbs" were mere dust. There are PILES of it! I don't think there's a single orb in my photos. Unless you can spot anything odd?

What is impressive though is the sheer size of the place. It has four stories off the ground floor. We went into the basement first, into the boiler room, from which we could have got onto the ground floor but I didn't really want to go in the dark. Later I found reports online of people having seen "blood" on the walls... erm, not sure about that *scratches head* We didn't. In fact we didn't feel or see ANYTHING weird there, which usually we do in such places. Very odd. Perhaps it was because we went in quite confidently and in the daytime, not wanting to be spooked.

The ground floor, on which we took most of the photos, is amazing - you'll see the front door and hallway in the pictures.

The upper floors don't seem to end, it's unbelievable this housed only one family, it's the size of a fairly decent hotel! But we didn't climb past the second floor because the stairs and floor of the third and fourth floors don't seem safe at all. QF went a bit higher than me, but I didn't dare to. (She's little. )

I'll be posting pictures of the exteriors and interiors, as well as naked QF splattered in blue liquid latex - of course. What else?

I got to test out my dad's wide-angle lens, which I had to adjust manually, so I apologize for any out of focus-ness ... but actually if I may say so, I'm quite proud of the pictures anyway

=quietly-filthy and I made use of the "extraordinary weather" (aka 2'' of snow) last night to do a shoot for which's she's had the idea for ages. With shiny silver spandex and thigh-high ballet heels, it needs no further introduction.... other than mention of the fact that it was as uncomfortable and as cold as it sounds, and I just took the pictures! Go give QF some appreciation for going through it in the name of art.

Alright, so I haven't posted all the latest series we've done recently, but I'm doing this one, and might update the backlog of all the others. They need linking to after all. Anyhow, enjoy!

I am 22, German, living in Wolverhampton, UK.

I have a BA Honours degree in photography. My photographic work is quite varied; the images I take on my own are often close-ups or abstract croppings of everyday life, frozen in a picture they way I see them. They often reflect my mood and my thoughts, as well as concepts and opinions about society.

The project, which I call "Postmodern Fairytales" and which is often a collaboration with my partner =quietly-filthy, uses models in costumes, makeup and setting to create a character and mood suited to the model's personality, but also to express something about the world we live in, something that we agree needs attention brought to for some reason. These pictures have been called provocative, and I suppose they can be, though that's not the main aim.

I also work with bands. I've shot bands like HIM, Wednesday 13 and Kill Hannah live, and I often take pictures of lesser known bands at local venues. I'm available to shoot live gigs as well as promotional pictures, and I'd be happy to work on concept shoots for a video, album cover, etc. with bands, so if you're in a band looking for a photographer, feel free to contact me! And of course I also work with models! I'll work with professionals to complete beginners, so don't worry if you'd like to shoot with me but haven't done it before.

Often I've been approached by models wanting to be a part of the "Postmodern Fairytales" project, but I may also be commissioned to shoot Portraiture, Fashion, Alternative Fashion, Fantasy, Cosplay, Fetish, Pinup, Nude. I like to have a chat before a shoot to find out what sort of images the model would like best and what would suit them, in order to work with their personality during the shoot.

I'm afraid I can only take Pinup, Fetish and Nude shots of models who are over 18. That's just... how it is, really, nothing much I need to say about it. Sorry. :/

I work on location or at home, where I have a small studio setup, and I charge 25 pounds per shoot, plus travel expenses if they're above 6 pounds. I'm sorry if that comes across as horrid but photography is my only income and I have to live! For those 25 pounds, you get as much time as it takes - usually about 4 hours - as well as at least 10 pictures of your choice digitally edited, and a CD/DVD of all pictures taken, to take home. You can then use the pictures as you wish - online, in your portfolio, etc.

If you for some reason really can't afford me but would still like to work with me, just contact me with your idea. I have a few ideas that I'd do TFP for, for example if you had easy access to an abandoned asylum or a large pet spider. But even if not, I'm sure we can work something out, especially if you're in the Birmingham area.
