* I have deffered from uni for a year (july 2007-october 2008) and am currently looking for work, unsuccessfully I might add, I have so far applied for about five jobs, and have been rejected for all of them. As a last resort I submitted an online application for Coles, BiLo and Kmart for part-time or casual work.

* I am currently living with my boyfriend and we are looking for somewhere bigger to live,(currently in a one bedroom unit).

* ok, as for the weird title, it makes sense because I have recently become obsessed with amigurumi (Japanese for crocheted or knitted toy/doll) and can't wait to try it (I'm waiting for my mum so post me some of my stash of wool from homeand possibly some crochet hooks aswell. also I bought a huge book called 'the complete book of crochet stitch designs' it has over 500 stitch patterns and was well worth the $50 I spent on it. So I have spent the last 3 days scouring the internet for free patterns and pictures of amigurumi critters, including brousing through all 1400+ results for an amigurumi search on dA.

so that's about it for now, hopefully in the next couple of weeks i should have some new posts up of my newly crocheted critters.

Also I'M GETTING A NEW CAMERA FOR MY BIRTHDAY!! - I'm back at college/uni. has been a pretty busy 3/4 weeks. a few 21st bdays, catching up with ppl, college functions, etc. has been pretty good so far. Finally got m enrollment sorted out. redoing some of the same subjects as last year, and some new ones, so should be interesting.

- Last thursday was the 5 month anniversary of when greg n I started going out , we got chinese takeaway for dinner and lots of sugary treats for dessert, it was fun. and the next day (friday night actually) we went with a group of friends to the Armidale show, had a good time, went on some rides, not to many though, god damn carnies, almost all the rides were between $6 and $10, bloody ridiculous, not to mention how dear all the sideshow games n things were , the fireworks were good though

- had another 21st bday yesterday, had a functiony thing with the bday girl n her family n friends, then her friends from uni and some of her cousins came with us on a pub crawl (and as it was a pub night for the colleges, and a saturday, all the pubs were packed)

- i havent actually got a pic of it on here, but i may be able to sell a bit of my chainmaille stuff at college; for Penelope's 21st me and a couple of others gave her a bracelet i made (22g, 2 3/4 ID, silverplated copper, spiral 4-1 ((maybe 3-1, cant remember)) ) and she loved it, and i was getting complements and stuff about it all night, was awsm, and had a couple ppl ask me how long it took to make, etc, and they said they'd try n drum up some business for me, so yay me now i just have to find time to make some more stuff

- my mum found my results for this semester while i was in brisbane, and she went ballistic. basically if i fail semester one this year i have to move back home and try 2 get a job (not bloody likely, i'd never move back here, it's a fucking hole with no job opportuities and i want to live as far away from it as possible. it's one of those places where the only things for young people to do is drink, drugs n fuck)

-because my parents were super pissed off at me i had to come home earlier than i had planned from visiting my wonderful boyfriend in armidaleinstead of the ten days id planned, from the 3rd to the 13th, i had to come hme on the 8th instead and as of today it will be 32 days til i see him again

- now for some good news greg (that's my boyfriend) told me he loves me. now this might seem insignificant to some people but the fact that he said it meant a great deal to me. i told him i love him about a month ago, just before the start of the holidays, and at the time i didnt expect him to say it back then and there. he explained to me that he wanted to be sure before he took such a big step, because his last girlfriends before me (who is also a friend of mine) told him she loved him when they were together, and they went out for 5 month until she realised that she didnt love him and broke up with him.
he and i have been together for a bit over 3 months now, and all is going great. havent been this happy for so long, i'd forgotten how good it felt not to be depressed.

unfortunatly he isnt living in the college this year, so no courtyard shuffle between our rooms lol but he has a flat close to the colleges so yay for not having to come home in the holidays anymore, cept for a couple days to visit family.


if anyone has had to spend extended periods of time away from someone they love u will know how i feel, i miss greg so much. i'm going to stop now before i make myself cry.

anyway, i wont be on dA for bout 2 weeks, so *groan* gonna have an inbox choccas with all u kool ppl's stuff, and i will get round to looking at them all, might take me a while though.

*EDIT* yay only 8 days til i go to queensland!! and 14 days til i see my boyfriend again can't wait (has now been a month since i've seen his beautiful face ) . also on that note, i took the advice of on writing a poem about/for my boyfriend, and just laying in bed one night i was suddenly inspired to write, so i did. I will probably eventually put it up on here but for the moment i want to keep it private until he has read it and i know what he thinks, hopefully he will like it *fingers crossed* .

Also as of late i have developed a facination with chainmaille and all things associated, and would like to point u all in the direction of a club called and i strongly suggest you all chech out their gallery and the galleries of their members, there are some very talented artisans out there . i am hoping to successfully try my hand at creating some jewellery using various chainmaille weaves/techniques; at the moment though i am just trying to develope the patience to sit down and do it.

ok, thats all, hopefully should have lots of photos and things from my little holiday, maybe put a few up on here, probably when i get back to uni in feb though, as dial-up internet takes forever to submit photos. Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful holiday however you choose to celebrate it!

Last night we had a farewell party for two of my friends who are leaving, one is graduating from uni and the other is doing his next year of uni externally, so it's likely I wont see them very often, which sucks. So last night was a night of much drunken merry-making. Many photos were taken, some more compromising than others (anyone ever played gay chicken? *cough* i think my boyfriend has now kissed more guys than me, lol does anyone have any idea of how weird it is to see your ex kissing your current bf? very very weird ). Between my boyfriend and I we polished off a bottle of Johnnie Walker Red . A great time was had by all.

In other news, I recently got my nose pierced, which didn't hurt nearly as much as i thought it would ; also it snowed in armidale the day before yesterday, had a cold snap come through (for those who don't realise, snow in november in australia is very unusual) and yesterday it would probably have been around 27 degrees celcius outside, and today was fairly mild, so the weather is all over the place, as it often is in Armidale.

Almost finished all my exams for this year, my dad is coming to pick me up 2 take me home on the 23rd (thursday) and wont be back at uni til february i think.

Anyway, that's about it for me, I may post some pics from last night on DA, some of the nicer ones lol

How doth my life sucketh? let me count the ways:

1 - my boyfriend isn't over his last break-up (from another friend of mine) and i don't know what his feelings are for me, or for her

2 - four of my best and closest friends from a group of six, not including myself, from college aren't going to be living at Duval (the college I live in) next year. 2 are graduating, one is moving away to study externally and the other is moving into town; leaving a total of 2 friends at college, both of whome have friends in other groups, but i don't

3 - i've become a comfort eater and have put on 5kgs in 2 weeks, possibly more (for those who have seen me , you're probably wondering why i'm concerned about putting on weight, well, for one thing, i can't afford to buy more clothes, and buying the food/snacks is buring into my holiday savings

4 - i'm getting behind again with my uni work, and my pareents said that if i fail this semester i have to move back home and get a job

5 - i still havent been to see a counsellor about my issues cuz they stuffed me around 2 many times and i chickened out of the last appointment

6 - I DON'T KNOW HOW TO COPE WITH ANY OF THIS!!!

then on saturday we had Ball recovery, which was gret fun, had a BBQ lunch, played games, and much alcohol was consumed by all the beverage of choice for most was goon mixed with pinapple juice lemonade and ginger ale (not too bad actually, but not as nice as bundy or bacardi) Drinking started at 10:30am n went til round 5pm, so by this point myself and many others were quite drunk, (wasnt actually fully sobre myself til after 7pm )

then on sunday i spent pretty much all day in the junior common room watchn dvds (sorority boys, super troopers, the mummy returns, looking fr alibrandi, and a small bit of thirteen ghosts) with josh magenta lauren patts mitch dom greg chittick n anyone else who wandered in. so overall was a good weekend.

i go bak 2 college t day after tomorrow (saturday), n cuz it's still technically holiday time i have 2 pay $33 for the night instead of what i usu pay, so that sux.
umm... pretty much packed cept 4 clothes, which i will do 2moro (i have way 2 much shit, n dont know if it will all fit in the car, i will sit on the roof if i have 2 ) .
i seriously need 2 start saving money.
text books r gonna cost me round $500 ( grrr) plus i need 2 save 4 an external hard drive, and for a friends wedding, so need 2 cut bak on beads n beading mags

so glad 2 be going bak, i get to c all my friends again n on friday we're gonna get pissed (well i am even if no-one else is ) w00t GO DUVAL!!!

and in other news, my cousin got engaged, which totally surprised me.
in the whole 4 weeks ive been home i have seen ne of my friends, n the only friend i did se wasnt a friend from home n was via web cam (not that im complaining, hehe, i enjoyed seeing him v much ).

umm.. wat else? my Nan is baking me a heap of cakes (jam drops n drovers cakes to b exact) i dont know if ne of u know what thy r but i know they taste good, but since she cooked 20 jam drops, i dont think i'm gonna b able 2 eat em all by myself, i might have 2 sell some 2 my neighbours , she is also buying me packets of biscuits 2 take bak (ne one would think they didnt feed me at college) .

ok, heres the thing: at the college that i live in, there is an inter-college trophy called the Sir Frank Kitto award, and its for creative arts n stuff, n there are a series of different competitions throughout the year n who ever wins earns points for their college.
So far our college has done pretty well. there is a poetry contest coming up soon, and i'm thinking of entering something. now , one of 2 things: i want to know which ones ppl think i should enter. and second, my friend (ex-bf) thinks we should enter as a pair, like opposing poems, showing a progression or something, n he thinks they will compliment eachother nicely, which i think sounds kool (even though my poems are about him, n his r about someone else, unless he's written some other ones i dont know about).

So i want any one who reads this (if they have time) to take a look at my poems (there are some in scraps 2 that i should move bak 2 my gallery) (gallery) [link] (scraps) [link] and also take a look at his stuff [link] and see which ones compliment eachother (between his and mine) the best, and any suggestions or whateva. I'd appreciate ur opinions v much.

this has become evident to me over the past couple of weeks, from various msn convos ive had with a couple of different ppl. some of these feelings that i have made ppl feel are: anger, disbelief, worry, compassion, and a coulpe other best not mentioned .

also i have discovered that writing poems (however unskilled i may be at it) helps me express how i'm feeling more easily than just spilling my guts 2 someone, or keeping it all inside (never, ever keep things bottled up; the feeling multiply and spread, and will rot u from the inside out *not good, trust me*)

well, for those who have been following my journal, this will prolly make more sense than to those who havent, but ne way; stupidly, for about the past 3 weeks since my bf broke up w me, i ha been holding on to the hope that he did actually still like me , and these delusions led me to read too much (and wrongly) into certain situations, etc. it finally got too much so i just asked him straight out if he still had feelings for me, and he said he has feelings for me as a friend, and he cares whether or not he hurts me (he really is a sweet caring person). He's a good friend and was willing to listen to me spout depressive nonsense. I think he is prolly my first true friend.

up til this point it hadnt really seemed real/final, so it kinda hit me pretty hard, so now i'm completely exausted n kinda numb. i'm really lucky to have caring people that i can tlk this through with (u guys know who u are) it really helps to be able to tlk these things through. i knw i'm gonna b fine, it just doesnt feel that way right now.

It is my opinion that although the techniques for writing poetry can be learnt and applied, but for emotive poetry, it is very hard to apply these things and not make it sound forced, and there-by sounding ingenuine.
However there are a gifted few (or a gifted many if the exampls on dev art are anything to go by) for whome it just flows, and is both genuinely emotive and technically accomplished.

anyway, thats just my opinion.
