Hey Everyone, just post something letting you guys know that i did not drop off the planet. GameStop is working out great and hopefully i will be able to at least get a promotion here soon. Its funny how time flys when you have fun and how slow it crawls when you misserable, by the end of next week, this will offically be my longest held job. and yet my time there has felt like just a blink of the eye, while the same window of time at zaxby's seemed like an eternity. Anyway, I got a new computer, which is awesome, and i am playing EQ2 in glorious HD on high quality with no hitching and WoW plays on max everything at 60 fps, I just love this thing. Anyways... my first day of the semester is tommorow so i should be going to bed now,
I am kinda in the middle of a transition period, I started back college, a friend just got back from Iraq, then i had to wave another goodbye bound to the very same destination. I just quit my job at Zaxby's and got a new job at GamSstop... WHOO, along with some family and social issues i recently encountered, i haven't been able to do much of anything. The piece I summited today i have actually had sitting around for quite a while now, i just never got around to uploading it. But enough of my problems. Hopefully in the next few weeks i will get my life a bit more ironed up.

Let first say that its been a while since I've been able to post any art lately, been working allot lately and what free time i do find i spend either hanging out with my friends, or playing the new game Overlord.

What a great game it is too, basically imagine Pikmin mixed with Fable and thats what you get, Its fun, got great humor, and it's just a joy to run around causing mayhem. It also offers a suprising amount of different ways you can play, for example early in the game the villagers ask you to return the towns food they got stolen by Halfings, when you find the food your offered a choice to return the food for to the vilage and have their gratitude, or keep the food for yourself. Situations like that even determine how your tower looks, how you yourself look and apparently even the games ending. The game has some short comings, the lack of a in game map is pretty annoying and the game can have some unclear moments as to what you are suppose to do. But that is something i like about summer, games like this have a chance at getting some spotlight rather then compete for attention in the winter against the Halos and Zeldas of this world (and get blown away in the market).

One thing that does bug me is that this game is almost going completely ignored falling in the shadow of Darkness (your standard linear M rated nothing special FPS). Now i haven't played the game myself, it just doesn't look like my thing, but it seems no one is willing to give the game a chance. Hell, when i went to buy Overlord (which is rated T) at gamestop, I got carded and he reached for Darkness because he had been asked so much. The game media is no better, Gamespot gave some half ass review that felt like they never intended on giving the game a chance, and IGN and GameSpy have yet to even review it yet. But all 3 have all these features and bull shit for Darkness. I guess people would rather play what they know and feel safe in familiar territory then go off the path a little a try something a little different.

So I beg you, if you have a 360, get Overlord. If you rent it, your going to want to buy it, if you buy it, your in for a treat

I've been playing allot of Halo 3 beta and loving every bit of it, I actually believe its the superior of the 3 games. Though i was still able to break the game, even played a custom game with the sword and Pistol which are not even in the beta (not surprising actually they still could use just a little more spit and polish). But See, with Halo 2 online, more often then not, the game was so poorly balanced that about half the time, i wouldn't even know what hit me or where it even came from. But i kept with it because it was basically the only robust Online game on the Xbox. But with the exception of poorly hosted games (bad ping) that unknown kill thing hasn't happened, and its great. With my interest once again perked, I've visited the Bungie forums... and it amazes me that people just don't understand poor balancing and flaws because they are bitching about loosing things that actually made halo 2 bad...

"The Pistol doesn't have a scope and it isn't ultra accurate"
-Its a pistol not a sniper rifle

"The Sword lung range is too short and i don't like visually glowing when i have my other weapon out"
-Your the bastard that in halo 2 ran around with a battle rifle until someone got too close and nail them with a sword before I could react...

"The rocket doesn't lock on"
-Good now i can actually drive somewhat safely again

and i could just keep going. But with the exception of a few minor bugs (mostly Playerclips that are a easy fix), and the kinda crappy downward pitch of the banshee (which needed to be adjusted, but not that much). I would be pretty happy with this game. Between that and the new Create-a-Spartan feature, i look forward for the final product on September 25

Just as a side note, I've gotten lots of request for a Zant spread... Well, i got a hold of the Zant models (with and without the helm and swords) so you all can expect a spread like my Midna one soon (maybe even tomorrow since i don't work)

If I walked into Cho Seung-Hui's appartment and looked at his DVD collection and found a bunch of Jackie Chan Movies. Could I say that He shot those 50 sum people because he watch those movies. Clearly they are violent, so whats the difference then to say he was influenced by video games.

MSNBC reported they found the popular game. Counterstrike, on Seung-Hui's computer. And in that instant, Jack Thompson and every anti video-game advocate went had a violent orgasm.

Now, let me throw a number out there, VALVe reports that during peak playtimes, there are roughly over 200,000 people playing some form of counter strike. Xfire reports that its users has played over 7,500,000 collective minutes of playing the counterstrike games, second only to World of Warcraft.

So are you saying that there are over 200,000 young murders "training" on counterstrike RIGHT NOW. Oh, and that I am one of them.

It seems that everyone is trying to blame other people for the instant, the police couldn't respond, school security didn't react. It seems everyone is blaming everyone, except the actual killer. Furthermore, in 2005 Cho was declared mentally ill by a Virginia special justice, who declared he was "an imminent danger" to himself [CNN.com] The Sick fuck even tried to compare himself as Christ, this was intentional calculated attack, he admits that he and he alone is responsible for what he did. But no one is willing to accept that.

Oh, and my favorite is that we have the media ironically saying that we are desensitizing our children to real world violence by playing video games. Well, i don't know how you guys feel, but to me video game characters still look like animated dolls. I personally would be more concern with the News showing actual dead bodies, or in high school showing bloody car wrecks with dead bodies and literally a trail of blood behind them to "demonstrate" the effects of drunk driving. And this is what children and teens are encouraged to see, lets not even start over the overwhelming violences in the bible, in the required reading (lord of the flies anyone?) and such other exposures. nope, video games are what caused it now.

now if you dont mine, i got an idea to do something creative

"I don't think you want to fuck with Me!"
Thats was what i expected when i found Breaking Benjamin's Collectors edition of Phobia 3 days early at Wal-Mart. This in itself, is a bit of a issue I'm sure because the street date isn't even until 17th. Regardless, I carefully inspected the labels to make sure Wal-Mart handed tampered with anything. I am aware they edit their music, to my fortune.. there was no indication that they were selling it edited. They normally indicate if the album has been edited on the sticker with the bar code. Nope, nothing there, in my thinking they must had not tinkered with it because it was the collector's edition with the DVD. I go through the rest of my running for the day, come home pop the DVD in. I was thinking to myself "Yeah this is awesome well worth re buying the album, it reminds me of when i saw them last summer". I watched to "Polyamorous", "Home", then i got "Shallow Bay" and i got pissed off and shut it off about 1/4 of the way through. WHY?, because they censored the song! I popped in the actual album...guess what, CENSORED. Some people might think this is a bit of a harsh term, but you know what, it wasn't indicated that it was. I wanted the cursing, not because of any rebellious reason so i can be like "hey look, I listen to music that has cursing aren't I cool." but because as an artist (visual in my case but Ii still relate) I want my music as the artist intended, not what Wal-Mart sees fit for me to listen to. Anyway, i packed everything up even the had the wrapper and all the stickers, just to prove my argument. I come to the service desk, well, it will probably be easiest to follow if i set up the whole argument. I had brought my father along, kinda like a would a lawyer, I don't think he has ever loss an battle with a customer service department, Probably because he is 6 foot 4 and 280 lbs (not fat) and majored in contract negotiation in college... yeah, things like this, I always bring him along.

there are details he I'm not outlining, that would double the length of the page (and its already long)
CS rep: can i help you
Me:Yes, I would like a refund on this
CS rep: No, we don't accept CDs after they have been opened"
Me: It's not that simple, this is an edited album and has no indication of it.
CS rep: we cant do it, we can only give you another copy of the same disk-
Dad:[interjects loudly drawing attention to himself] we aren't leaving until I'm happy.
Me: do you have an unedited version
CS rep: [tinkers with the phone and computer] are you sure this is edited,-
Me: [interjects] Yes, i own the first run release, i wanted the DVD.
CS rep: [examines everything] you bought this today?
Me: Yes, and everything is there. i only got 15 minutes into the DVD before i realized it was censored and rushed back here.
CS rep: Let me talk with the manager.
[waiting a few minutes]
CS rep: She is coming over here
[more waiting till an assistant manager comes]
Dad: are you the manager
Manager: Yes, [is handed the disk] we cant accept this, because of the policy in fear of being copied.
Me: that isnt the case here, i was ill informed on what this product was and did not get what wanted.
Manager:I can't take this back
Dad: [pulling the receipt out] Look, it wasn't a single purchase, I will spent over 200 dollars in clothing and food, if I don't get what i want, we can keep this "CENSORED" CD and request a refund on the other 180 dollars of products I CAN get refund on
Me: And I'll just make a nasty mess of this whole ordeal for the entire store and go to every form of media i can about this and your overall ramped censoring of music when you don't do the same for games and movies, I'm sure Hollywood records would love to know that
Dad: Furthermore, this album isn't even suppose to be on the shelves for 3 days
Manager: Thats not possible, our registers wouldn't accept it then.
Me: Wal-Mart has accidentally released things before their street date in the past, it wouldn't be the first time
Manager: let me call the other stores
[more waiting, its been now 20 mins]
Manager: We dont have anything, and we cant take that
Dad: who is higher up then?
Manager: Well the store manager but he has left for the day already
Dad: get him on the phone then
Manager: I cant-
Dad: I'll take this all the way up to the corporate offices just to get my way.
Manager: [thinks for a minute] sigh, i cant give you cash back but i need something to exchange it with, it doesn't matter what, just something from the electronics department
Dad: good enough

So yeah, I won out in the end, but Wal-mart can still go to hell for all that hassle. I also figured BB would like to know that Wal-Mart is selling their product before its intended release. not to mention selling the e...

I have had this thing for a long time with the intent of uploading some of my artwork on here. Well, one thing lead to another with life I ended up just making the account and not doing anything for months and kinda forgot about it. I was only reminded that I even had the account when i was bored and googled my online alias "Rinerdar" just because to see that i had a account. 5 days later (today) i have got 16 pieces up and over 100 views, thats kinda amazes me. I wish i could have more up, but most of the major pieces (the noteworthy stuff) is pretty huge and doesn't fit on my scanner, so i have to take a picture with the camera and clean it up in Photoshop to get everything right, so its a pretty time consuming task and I do have other things to be doing. Anyway I guess i would figure I'd give a little extra detail about myself, just because I can.

-I was voted "Most Artistic" of the Senor class in High School
-I have done all kinds of methods of Visual arts, from classical painting and to digital art and even a little game development
-Right now, I'm in a community college, the there are 2 reason I'm there rather then some 4 year school or art school
a: the first year or so of college education is exactly the same as the 4 year schools for a fraction of the price
b: I kinda manifested a severe case of scoliosis and got surgery done about a year ago, this kinda held me up. I managed to recover quickly though, I pushed myself to make it to my senor prom and graduation, and was able to do both amazingly enough. But the doctors want to keep me in the area for whatever reason.
