If anyone reads this I would be surprised. If anyone went back into the journal history and read any of those I would be even more surprised. I have read other journals and some were very telling, others were just the same old bullshit. As a community DA has changed and with all things on the internets it is a reflection of society. Our world is reaching a turning point and art reflects life with all it's facets and textures because that's what we do.

If anyone cares to read this then you will find me. Just as when you read any journal you find that person in those lines. If you bother to write a journal entry then you are reaching out to the world and offering yourself up for inspection or at least some part of what you want the world to think you are. That's OK, that's better than nothing. I love being creative even if it's mediocre. For me it's not so much about technical ability as it is about expressing yourself and using your mind to communicate your ideas in some sort of physical form.

Keep it coming people, it's all good.

Let's vote for the candidate that spears the righteous line of indignation. I don't want to dine on the songs of the coattails for misbegotten memories, no. Let us go forth and sally against the rails of lightness and forgo the fortunes of rendered obscurity. The time has come to forget the requiems of the past and relish in the condemnation of others misfortune. To take arms and spit in the eye of cultured down heartedness. We are not a country of loose cannons and fettered repositories, we cry out for the death of those that have died before us with singular concern befitting those of us that can't. We must remember the times of wars fought for no reason and learn to turn about those unsightly blemished onslaughts with the power of wisdom. If history teaches us anything it is that we are here. We can not merely stand in judgment of those with no understood beliefs. We must lash out and extinguish them with a fervor unheralded in all of humanity. To take lightly such events with no regard for sanity smacks of redundant replenishment. We all take the blame and render its untold glory in the final moment of truth to which we must proclaim, "Give me the moment". Sending a clear message to those that would see us flounder in the lasting thought of unglorified incision. Take a moment to ponder these words and understand that it is with this reason and purpose we will unite the masses and vanquish the villains of leavened bread for our own consumption rather than let all this that has gone before find in its nature the right to obscure its own destiny. Join with me today and reach out to the unfound reason that is America. That filtered light at the end of that long and winding tunnel. Bring this election home with trust and reason unheard of in the last onslaught of recognition. Putting all that is serious aside for the time and going ahead to what will surly be a long and lasting reversal of reason and logic. It is our God given right to search for this pointless survey of unnecessary questions and answer them in a way that leaves us no choice but to mock their very existence. I have chosen not to explain these things for any attempt would surly seem futile. Instead it will be our epitaph to be heralded through the ages and never more repeated or known of forever. Thank you.

Dear Aspiring Artist:

Here is my advice. Think of it as a five-year plan:

Take whatever courses you find the most interesting.

Study closely the work of the Old Masters.

Stop making art that originates only from your own imagination.

Stay with one technique until you perfect it.

On any given day, always be in the middle of reading a book. When you finish one, start the next. Fiction, nonfiction, biographies, autobiographies, history, science, psychology, or how to build a kite. Anything but go easy on the comic books.

Buy and read the first 6 pages of newspaper every day and also the editorial commentaries. Skip the entertainment section. Su Doku is fine. Do the crossword puzzle.

Fill up a sketchbook every month with pen or pencil drawings of the world around you, not from your imagination.

Buy a book on figure drawing. It's the only art book you will ever need.

Until you can draw an accurate portrait of someone, you don’t know how to draw.

Stay away from the airbrush. You'll never master it, hardly anyone ever has.

Visit every museum in your city. Often, until you have seen everything in it. Every kind of museum. Not only the art museums but, of course, those as well.

Forget about contemporary art by living artists, at least for the next few years.

Stay away from most art galleries. Go to art auctions. That's where the real action is.

Learn to play chess.

Take a business course.

Talk to you mother or father at least once a week.

Stop going to the movies until you have rented and seen every film on this list. [link]

Do not watch television unless it’s the news or documentaries.

Do not use an Ipod.

No video games, either.

Learn a foreign language.

Learn to cook.

Spend 8 hours in a hospital emergency room.

Save up money so you can travel to a foreign country within the next five years.

Do not litter.

Avoid politically correct people.

Vote in every election or never dare to utter a political opinion. You are not entitled to one.

Buy a digital camera and take photos every day.
If you see nothing interesting to photograph, you will never be a good artist. Keep only one photo of every ten you take. Delete the rest. It will force you to learn how to edit the garbage from your life, to make choices, to recognize what has real value and what is superficial.

Visit an old age home.

Listen to classical music and jazz. If you are unable to appreciate it at least as much as contemporary music, you lack the sensitivity to develop into an artist of any real depth.

Go to the ballet. Classical or Modern, it doesn't matter. It will teach you to appreciate physical grace and the relationship between sound and movement.

Wake up every morning no later than 8 AM, regardless of what time you went to sleep.

Learn to play a musical instrument.

Learn to swim.

Keep your word.

Never explain your art. People who ask you to do so are idiots.

Never explain yourself. Better yet, never do anything that will, later, require you to explain yourself or to say you're sorry.

Always use spell check.

Stop aspiring and start doing.

This will keep you very busy but it can't be helped.
In my opinion, this is how you might, possibly, have a shot at becoming a good artist.

Hope this helps,

The following are lyrics to "Trouble everyday" by Frank Zappa. I know it most likely won't get read but if anybody takes the time it will be worth it, if not for the sake of the song but for their own piece of mind.

Well I'm about to get sick
From watchin' my TV
Been checkin' out the news
Until my eyeballs fail to see
I mean to say that every day
Is just another rotten mess
And when it's gonna change, my friend
Is anybody's guess

So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin'
Hopin' for the best
Even think I'll go to prayin'
Every time I hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
That trouble comin' every day
No way to delay
That trouble comin' every day

Wednesday I watched the riot . . .
Seen the cops out on the street
Watched 'em throwin' rocks and stuff
And chokin' in the heat
Listened to reports
About the whisky passin' 'round
Seen the smoke and fire
And the market burnin' down
Watched while everybody
On his street would take a turn
To stomp and smash and bash and crash
And slash and bust and burn

And I'm watchin' and I'm waitin'
Hopin' for the best
Even think I'll go to prayin'
Every time I hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
That trouble comin' every day
No way to delay
That trouble comin' every day

Well, you can cool it,
You can heat it . . .
'Cause, baby, I don't need it . . .
Take your TV tube and eat it
'N all that phony stuff on sports
'N all the unconfirmed reports
You know I watched that rotten box
Until my head begin to hurt
From checkin' out the way
The newsman say they get the dirt
Before the guys on channel so-and-so

And further they assert
That any show they'll interrupt
To bring you news if it comes up
They say that if the place blows up
They will be the first to tell,
Because the boys they got downtown
Are workin' hard and doin' swell,
And if anybody gets the news
Before it hits the street,
They say that no one blabs it faster
Their coverage can't be beat

And if another woman driver
Gets machine-gunned from her seat
They'll send some joker with a brownie
And you'll see it all complete

So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin'
Hopin' for the best
Even think I'll go to prayin'
Every time I hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
That trouble comin' every day
No way to delay
That trouble comin' every day

Hey, you know something people?
I'm not black
But there's a whole lots a times
I wish I could say I'm not white

Well, I seen the fires burnin'
And the local people turnin'
On the merchants and the shops
Who used to sell their brooms and mops
And every other household item
Watched the mob just turn and bite 'em
And they say it served 'em right
Because a few of them are white,
And it's the same across the nation
Black and white discrimination
Yellin' "You can't understand me!"
'N all that other jazz they hand me
In the papers and TV and
All that mass stupidity
That seems to grow more every day
Each time you hear some nitwit say
He wants to go and do you in
Because the color of your skin
Just don't appeal to him
(No matter if it's black or white)
Because he's out for blood tonight

You know we got to sit around at home
And watch this thing begin
But I bet there won't be many live
To see it really end
'Cause the fire in the street
Ain't like the fire in the heart
And in the eyes of all these people
Don't you know that this could start
On any street in any town
In any state if any clown
Decides that now's the time to fight
For some ideal he thinks is right
And if a million more agree
There ain't no Great Society
As it applies to you and me
Our country isn't free
And the law refuses to see
If all that you can ever be
Is just a lousy janitor
Unless your uncle owns a store
You know that five in every four
Just won't amount to nothin' more
Gonna watch the rats go across the floor
And make up songs about being poor

Blow your harmonica, son!

An excerp from Apocalyptic reunion.

Indeed, Larry did know what that meant, in that short time from daylight to night the fungus bats came out. Horrid little creatures that swooped down and bit with a ravenous furry. Their razor sharp teeth dripping with genetic toxins that once introduced into your bloodstream would change your DNA on a molecular level and various bizarre mutations would result. Larry remembered one poor sole that when the infection spread he started growing an extra penis, which might not have been so bad in and of itself for obvious reasons but it had a mouth with teeth and when it was fully developed it devoured his testicles and burrowed into his rectum before he bled to death. Larry was sure he didn’t need to experience that. Celeron and Larry carried the girl to the Impala, he noticed that she seemed very clean for someone living outside like this. Not just clean of dirt and filth but no scars, not a mark on her. It didn’t add up, what was her story he wondered? That would have to wait, Big Homie had cranked over the huge mill as they squeezed into the cramped car. It was packed with all sorts of armament, from automatic weapons to swords. All kinds of electronic surveillance gear were jammed into the small area. Even though the seats had been removed and the roof was much higher than original it was a tight fit for the three of them. Larry kept thinking about the girl in the back, he started to have an erotic dream in which he was floating in a cloudy ethereal space passionately making love to her. The look on his face gave him away and Big Homie noticed and slugged him and said, “Knock that shit off! I don’t want you to have some nocturnal emission and spew shit all over the console."

The ice caps are gone now as is much of the south eastern sea board. I don't go out much any more except to grab the heat ration package from the government hand out program. Had to add another layer of insulation to the UV dome today. I don't know if it's doing any good anymore. The water reclamation unit overheated again and a lot was lost to evaporation again. Now that the wild fires have burned away all of the remaining vegitation it seems to be getting even hotter. I'm not worried, though. I still have the internet connection. I've heard that some network nodes are now buried under solid granite mountains in the rockies. NORAD used to be there but priorities do change, don't they? I guess we don't have to worry about the price of gas anymore either, now that it just explodes in the gas tank. At least my solar panals are working REAL well. Stay cool!
What next?

Franken food, it sounds like a bad horror movie title. In reality it is a very serious attack on the world by corporate greed. Dow chemical makes a product called Round up. It kills weeds very effectively; it kills so well that the soil is virtually sterilized. Not even bacteria survive. Farmers use it to clear land quickly for planting of crops. Unfortunately it hinders the growth of any plant. So Dow genetically engineered a resistant strain of corn that could be used right after Round up has been used. Sounds real logical, right? Get this, they also made the corn seeds good for only one season. In other words the seeds from the first seasons crop won’t grow another crop the next season, you have to go back to Dow and buy more seeds. It gets worse, they have a patent on the crops they develop and through genetic markers they can trace the ownership of any given crop. A few years ago a farmer growing organic corn in an adjacent field to some franken corn was taken to court for stealing Dow’s product. It seems some of the pollen from their field got on the corn in the unfortunate farmers organic crop. Dow won the case because of major deep pockets and access to the best legal council, which the farmer was not able to match.

If you haven’t figured it out yet here is the plan as I see it; Dow will own the entire planets food supply! By encouraging farmers to use Round up for more effective weed removal and supplying them with the seeds to use and by eliminating all other strains of crops with the help of global warming, which as we know from over exposure of uv rays, will wilt and die to become extinct. Dow will be left with the only farmable food on the planet. What can we do about it? Nothing, it’s too late. Get used to it. Water is the next big product to be owned and exploited. Just wait and see. You can do little else.

Give money to the rich.

So congress signs a bill today giving the oil companies a 2.7 billion dollar tax break. . . ExxonMobil just posted an 8 billion dollar profit for the last three months. But it's not about the oil. Nothing in the bill about a tax incentive for individuals that want to install solar panels on their homes. That would take money away from those poor oil companies. So role up the windows and put on the air, put the petal to the metal and just drive around till your Hummer runs out of gas then go get some more. That'll show those fucking terrorists!!!

It's not enough to be alive, ya gotta live, too.

The challenge is to remain calm when all around is not. I will try to refrain from being negitive. This time in my life is different due to the place in life I'm at. Not to be too cryptic but it's not where I thought I'd be. Right. . . lot's of people would say that, I know. I am an example to others as to what mistakes one should not make. Then again, it's not all bad. It's not like being grateful is something one wouldn't want to be. Please be frank. OK, I don't even know which frank to be. Leave Frank out of this. Then it was all it could have been. Find me in my happy place and you will be naked. Don't look!
