I'd remove it all but its good to remind me of where I started. In that sense its a humbling effect I guess.

Anyhow, everything had its own challenge in the times that it was involved in my life and from lessons that I learned in doing those pieces I've grown as an artist.

I don't think I've updated here in a LOOONNNNGGG time.

I've added a new playtoy model (ie going to pose and print as a toy) of a character from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Also I will check this page at least once monthly from now on (I hope).

Sorry about delays and whatnot but work has swamped me underneath the rug...at least until Trek ends.

It should be interesting to see how much I pick up doing more realistic characters for a stint.

Milla is like a warm up model at the moment. I'm trying to go a bit higher than what a Poser mesh would normally have, being that I can control exactly how things are made.

At the moment I hope that the art direction will push humor and silliness as well as seriousness to give memorable characters on top of what I'm told is an engrossing plot.

If you've ever played Monkey Island, Space Quest, King Quest, Dragon's Lair, Loom, or watched the Incredibles or Shrek you can see a certain style trend.

Think Disney/anime/just whatever and go from there.

When I think of this I think of stuff inspired from real life and enriched as well as things that are just fun. Sure you can go into this game and fight monster after monster and level up and so on or you can run around throwing meat at each other, maybe. Or maybe kick chickens?

But what about going to meet a rock golem and helping him find a nice juicy rock or when walking down the road this oak starts singing a song about the nook and crannies which will lead you to a cave where a wood nymph lies upset about something? What if not only could you level up by brute force but also by just skill or intelligence? Maybe 10 levels for just helping in need or being cunning?

Most of all though, the story will come out of this as you progress...perhaps it begins a bit silly and lighthearted but soon you find yourself engrossed in a dark and sinister plot....would it be better to just beat people senseless for hours on end until you can level up to go into the next area or work with people to solve not only problems but perhaps just enjoy the world's variety...maybe that little rat creature that you helped along the way comes back when you're in need and saves you?

Ideas are what spur great stories and start people imagining....
anyways...thats my little whatever for the day...I just hope those who work on this have fun or its not worth doing...And for once a game will be driven by a good story instead of by just pretty flashes of color (though that will probably be there as well)

I just hope that if this is completed it will be something you can walk away from and feel enriched by instead of as if you wasted 6 hours of your life playing it.

So I guess tomorrow / today technically will bring a bag into the modeling scene (yay...)

I was debating all day about modeling a skull but have not really decided whether or not to jump on that bandwagon quite yet.

I have to finish up a M4 sniper rifle for that Half Life 2 game mod, however(odd grammer i'm sure here), so that may take the most of the free time for tomorrow.

I think I'll finish up 1984 tonight.

Sooooo, I fired up Zbrush and hit the sculptoral surface maximus and did a good 15 mins of poking and prodding....I'm sure once I go to texture it'll work out pretty well but at the moment I feel the composition is almost dead on.
Anyways I'll play around with this and my One Piece meshes tomorrow (I'm enjoying using Zbrush but it has very little application for use in animated characters, its mostly good for still since the meshes it produces are ungodly dense...for example the one I'm using now was originally 150 faces and now its 497,000 faces at the detail in my render) I've tinkered with it for displacements which seems the only way to make it applicable and will probably figure that hurdle out eventually so I do not have to render millions of polys in my render view.

Now its time for me to go to reading a nice book (Trying to finish the Jungle Books before I move onward to the more complex realms of adult fiction and Mowgli is about to send elephants to attack the human village)

Maybe I should bang my head against the wall like Fred Flintstone for awhile.

Anyways, I uploaded about 6 or so things tonight of some old stuff from concept art to my old thesis stuff of which I have to search my archival dvds to find the original 3d stills and animations to pull stills from.

I'm wondering whether or not to put up the stuff for my short project or not right now (like the 12 storyboards I have so far).

Anyways its been interesting so far to share in the community and get such great responses in such a short time.

You guys are really a wonderful community here and I'm glad to be a part of it.

I'm about to undertake some serious human anatomical modeling in a short while so I will have updates of things like realistic heads, and photoreal texturing and whatnot as the progression comes.

I'm more towards a Pixar style of modeling and animation but I have been told by many to expand my portfolio to show that I can do the "ultra real" modeling. So, in lieu to that I have a Poseresque rough head in the gallery somewhere with no eyeballs that I spent about and hour or so on to sort of whet my appetite in the realistic modeling phases.

My next term here at school may turn out to be interesting after all.

Anyways, thanks for coming and taking the time out to look at my gallery.

PS: To the One Piece fans, when I have the models done 100% I'd be open to requests for poses and whatnot to do them in. As it stands now I have a week until school begins again so I'm trying to get the rough versions of Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and whoever else as far along as I can before the rush begins and I enter the realistic phase.
