Other news. 24 hour art marathon is on the 18th. therefore there will be me... doing a 24hour ENTIRE BODY henna piece.... so yah... i is excited!

i finally sucked it up and did some henna, and i have to admit that it was pretty awesome. it really was not as hard as i though it would be to get back into the swing of things... i think artists block is finally gone.... but i cant really rejoice yet, because i still have to follow up on it. i made up some henna last night, but had no lemon juice, so i don't know how well it will stain.

also, i have a big project on my to do list. i am picking up a huge piece of unbleached canvas later this week and will start a dyeing process on it. it will consist of some designs in henna, layered with various levels of wax resists then dyed in indigo, and henna washed.... it is hard to explain, but hopefully it will be huge!

On another note, i just bought Spirited Away... prolly my favorite movie of all times... i really am not one for the entire anime kick.... actually i kinda despise the stuff and the entire cult following it has developed (i don't mean to insult anyone, but ...yah...) Just sitting there watching it made me remember all the good old times when there was no school or work or free time issues..... i miss my life...OK!! done griping!!! hahaha... off to sleep i guess cause i have little else to do and no one to henna!

I have hit a creative speedbump when it comes to henna. It sees that since my dear ol' Melissa has moved, my creativity has been put on hold. I need somebody to say "On -- you are henning me. We will watch movies and eat. I will not back out" And for once I'd like someone to give me a design instead of me having to find them for them....

Just got back from the Carnival. It was nice. Quebec is amazing and i wish desperately that i was living there and not here. Though if i could pick up Fog City, and all its people and plop it down there i would have nothing holding me here.

So here is the Carnival grounds. Lovely yes?
There is to much to tell on a simple art journal. If you want details, attack me and we will coffee it up. And do not let the planning be placed upon me for I can bend to your demands... i insist. I am simply sick of making decisions about things....

School sucks... i hate math, but because i got a 25% in it last term, i kinda have to do something with it (aka repeating the course) and for everything else, i am ok.. except say why right now, except to say that it has to do with someone and not the course its self...

My life feels like the slide. It is going so fast.. almost to much to comprehend, but then it stops suddenly and i am jolted back into reality....unfortunately it is but another uphill climb before things are back on track enough for me to slide again. I want to be on eternal ice... to just let go and glide by in everything.. having fun and enjoying every second of life.. not having to worry about the gravel that slows me down.. Unfortunately though, that is life, and eventually i will build a lift so that it is no work at all till i slide after i stop... only a small amount of time

Oh my, that is all for me. I really don't mean to be emo, but it is so much easier to type feelings away then to tell them to a set of pupils stairing back.

It would be hard to explain to them that i would rather work for a term, not to mention that so many people would have so many bad things to day about it that it is simply not worth the effort and time that i would have to invest in explaining...Oh well, c'est la vie...

In other news, i am thinking, wall actually, committed to going to the Dominican Republic after winter term... it will be a week of sun, surf and attractive people...on that note, my friend from work has agreed to join the jym with me, and we are making a schedule, so that we will go at least 4 times a week, and try to get in shape for April.. which will defiantly fall through and we will both end up going and being fat....
oh well

Anyz! i hope everyone else is a little more decided in their lives than i am... (well i don't think it'd be hard...) and i hope to hear about it soon

Off to Montreal on Thursday..... very excited, but not ready... kinda wishing that I had nothing to worry about when I get home. But alas, school doesn't stop, and I am gunna die before terms end.

Next term is awsome hopefuly. History of thinking in the west.....Sociology of the changing world, Intro to phycology II, and 20th century British Novels. Nice courses, and then maybe off to Ottawa, Montreal or even Malta for next year. ArtFags unite (Melissa Legge, where are you?)

Ok... Off to Oliver. Then sleep, Ecology lab, work, sleep, then 3 classes, then math assignment, then sleep, and then Montreal and maybe relaxation.

OK, contest. Basically take 3 objects from your current pencil case/ writing holder thingy, and then doodle. Be creative in not only the doodle but on how you use the objects. represent you style, and the most creative entry (judged by a third party) will get a small henna kit and note from yours truely, shipped for free anywhere.

This doodle that I did during an extreamly boring ecology lab got me thinking. -Pen for outline. -Pencil for defination of the flowers then -paint pen to create a little pool of paint and using a stray led from my pencil hilight certain points of the design. Note that the design is about 2" across in total.

Entrys are due by halloween (Oct 31) and I will post a journal then of all the devianiations and the winners (by nov.5)

Just note me your entry, or comment with a link on my main page. Also describe your process and why you represent your art the way you do.

I know this may be kinda a stupid little thing, but I am truely interested on how people will react to it, and what they will come up with, what they see their style as, and just how many people will enter (not having high hopes I might add)

Basically i was thinking about it. For 33$ Canadian a year, that is like one sushi meal. Why not? I mean, DA is basically the only thing I do on the net now-a-days, so i decided that i should treat myself to something tres special. And besides, it works out to something like 10 cents a day... I mean, I throw that away in loose change! oh well, who knows, maybe I shall not like it, and go back to the way it was. Maybe I will love it an never give it up...? HAHA

In other news....

I was looking through my dear ol' page and relalized just how far I have come n henna for it being a part-part time hobby.

I mean, this is one of my first attempts with henna (sorry ~Lindori)

~just a funny little interlude~

I dropped chemestry. It is liberating. Basically I have decided that math is more improtant this term, and so I need to focus on that. Plus it gives me a better chance of boosting my GPA so that univesities that i apply to in Jan. might even give my application a second glance.

I also have realized that, with my parents being gone and all, It is actually really hard to keep a house hold up and running by your onesies. Especially when cet house is also known as the neighbourhood zoo. Totally not cool. You can not just go to bed, or go out. there is just so much that needs to be considered, and so much that needs careful thought and attention. I have decided that when I am on my own, that I shall have just a cat. I shall not be lonely, but they do have a certain level of independance that is helpfull.

I also feel that I am rather lonely lately. I mean, i Just eat, sleep, work and school. I never see people, and the ones I do see are like not intentional if you know what I mean, like from work, or school, not so much the "hey, lets hang out"

oh well... Maybe this weekend will bring some deserved rest and lack of nagging, and maybe even some funtimes or whatnot.... guess i just have to wait and see!
