Yet, the sad truth is that even the noblest of ventures eventualy end up like this. Whether it is because of the weakness of human character (greed) , or just a simple law of nature (survival) I can't really tell. Maybe ideals have an expiration date, who knows...

But that's not the problem here.

I undestand the need for DeviantArt to go corporate. With the amount of bulk uploads of (art)work and the unbelievable cost to keep it alive, how can it not? I understand that money is an important issue and that tough decisions need to be made.

But when not one, but both founders (jark and matteo) end up leaving or being removed from staff you know that there is something wrong with the picture. Something that exceeds the old community versus corporation problem.


No more pugs or yellow aliens for this website....
And that IS a problem.

Every corporation, even the biggest ones need to conduct themselves with basic honor and integrity, othervise their reputation will be tarnished. Also respect is a key for a succesful business no matter what it's nature may be and especialy if the business revolves around a community such as ours. Respect for their consumers (namely us), the employees and especially for their founders. I fail to see respect in this new DeviantArt, I'm affraid.

One of the things I deeply dislike about this whole incident is the whole "Yeah, they are gone, but no big deal, moving on..." tone that I hear in the statements of the remaining staff.
How can this possible be depicted as a minor setback, or incident? We are talking about the people who created this site from scratch, from the idea and abstract concept, to the first line of code. And even though many others added with their efforts to the significant growth of DA I still fail to take the loss lightly.

Also, this goes beyond jark and matteo. If you browse trought the DA pages of the old staffers, you will see that many of them have resigned. Euphoria, Dygel, Attila, Phae and many others are now ranked as "former staff". I think that speaks volumes.

I doubt that we will told the full story any time soon, due to legal issues and disclosure agreements. I also doubt that jark and the others will ever get back their old status unless this becomes a legal battle. It is a sad time for DA.

The biggest tragedy however is that the community spirit is tainted. It has been dying slowly for a long time now, yet this blow has damaged it the most, and although I see many deviants gathering in support of jark and matteo I dont think that it will help get DeviantArt back to the way it used to be "back in the days" when it had spunk, and spirit and when it was a joy to upload and share comments.
I hope you'll prove me wrong about this.

These days i had problems with the i-net and i thought that the problem is in my LAN card, because i have reinstaled the windows and the problem still was here. But i was writeing one program for hacking passwords and i finaly made it ! It works pretty good. And now my net is super fast because i made some "adjustments" on the server that delivers me the i-net. It was pretty easy for 1,20 min my program succeded in braking the password
They was sending the net to my old IP, but hte strange thing is that i was having a net even then (well it was for 5-8 minutes, but.. ) may be a bug or something i don't know...
Well now the net is fine. I even get a 4 MB upload
