As for me, the fall semester of college, is getting ready to start. I am taking three classes, that could prove to be a challenge, with me working and everything. But, I think I will be fine. The courses I am taking for fall are as follows:

Applied Math
Fundamentals of Writing
US History till 1865

Basically I am taking some refresher courses, to get up to speed on my math as well as a couple other things. Math is actually my weakest subject out of the whole lot, next to english. But, we shall see, hopefully I can catch on pretty quick, haven't been in school, for over 11 years.

In other news...

I have started working on some original sketches of original characters, especially for a Final Fantasy VII fan fic I am wanting to revamp that me and a cousin worked on.

The story, takes place 500 years AFTER the original story line and Advent children. It can get confusing, because the plot begins in the present, with the arrival of Cloud and Tifa's two children, Zack & Aerith (go figure, I HAD to name them after two of the most influential characters in cloud's life ^^) They are approximately 3 years apart. Not putting twins in this one, but I am doing a boy and girl ^^.

I can't put up a rough draft of how I want it later so you can all read it.

also, fallen angel, IS STILL IN THE WORKS. I just haven't had much time on writting on t it or doing character art or sketches. the same goes for Mikayla's Wrath, which I hope I can complete a chapter or two within the next couple of days. we will have to wait and see.

Also, Congrats are in order, for my neice. She has successfully completed the 8th grade and will be a Fresheman in high school this year, at Gillespie High, in Gillespie, IL! Congrats Britt Britt, Aunt Mellie is proud of you!

Well, I do believe this is all the time I have for RKOD's journal entry for today. I must leave and go grocery shopping and then enjoy the rest of my two days off!

Anyway, just thought I would update my journal and let everyone know, that Mikayla's Wrath Chapter 3 has now been posted.

I was hoping to get one or two more chapters posted, but I figure, since the chapters are pretty long IMO, I would just post them one at a time, so you guys can read them at a slower pace! ^-^

Also, I can never say this enough, but my grammar, spelling and punctuation, are not as good as they used to be, in truth, Grammar, along with math were never my strong suits in High School or grade school for that matter. So, I do the best I can, just as long as the readers enjoy the stories. ^^

I do plan on creating more fanart for the story, I still don't have final character designs for the Doragons and Aura and I plan on an original piece of art (more than likely anime/manga related) for the 3,000 page views I am about to receive! Unfortunately, My net will probably be disconnected for about 3 days, before I can upload it onto the computer.

To get away from using the vowel "I" so much at the beginning XD I'm going to let you all know, that um..I (DOH!) will be leaving for vacation to Illinois from June 6th through the 11th, and won't be able to post much, until I get back from my trip.

It will be about a 10hr. drive from where I live, to the central half of the state of Illinois. I can't wait to get home and visit everyone!

I will especially be happy to go back and congratulate my oldest neice for achieving first place in the Illinois State Choir Competition for school! This is of course for only the solo half of the competition, and I am probably the most excited aunt right now!

Anyway, Not much as far as updates, I did change my desktop to what is now my current image. as far as anything else goes, I haven't been able to complete any of the projects I had listed in my last journal entry.

Mikayala's Wrath chapter 3, is almost finally done, after a LONG time in writting. Pretty sad, its taken me almost two years to even get up to that chapter and have it finished! XD

I used to be able to push two or three chapters out a day, but since I work all the time now, I don't feel like being online for too long nor on the computer for any length of time. Being a manager is exhausting! LOL XD

Also, my dad's girlfriend was hospitalized last month due to first, second and third degree burns, the worst of which, occured on her arms, hands, ears and her right leg and the whole top and bottom of her foot.

But, anyway, now that I have new batteries for my digital camera, I am going to try and take my camera with me and hopefully catch some cool images.

I still want to try and get the Team Kurenai fan art done and I would also like to get some colorized versions of my original character designs.

So, I do hope everyone is doing well and that things are going good. I also want thank everyone who visits my page! I'll see what I can do, about getting some new art, fan fic chapters and photos posted. with my busy and hectic work schedule, they will probably be VERY sparse.

Sure, they aren't the best quality, but I am working on it! I may have to get a photoshop program, besied the PhotoStudio, that came with the camera.

The images, don't look crisp and clean, like they do on the camera's screen and the pics were actually taken randomly.

I have another photo, that I will be uploading here soon and it is an Autumn Floral Arrangement, that is still a "work in progress" project ^^ it will more than likely be submitted into my scraps though and you can feel free to take a look at it there.

I also had to place a couple of the pics in a different category than what I wanted, because I had to scale the images down so much, lest they look totally pixalated and crappy!

So, how is everyone doing? all good I hope. I myself, have been busy with not only working, but trying to get more chapters done on Mikayla's Wrath and I have been drawing some original characters, that go with an original story of mine, called Fallen Angel (temp title) and I plan on trying to get these done, so I can post them upon my return to deviant art, so that I have something new, that my visitors will see, instead of the same ol' thing ^^.

I'm actually glad I invested in one to tell the truth. There are more games form me to play on there, than on the DS. Or rather, I should say, there are series that I enjoy more so, that some of the DS titles.

I was searching through Yahoo! news and found the article on Heath Ledger.

Its not very long, but he is/was the same age as me right now. I really liked some of the movies he played in, and am saddened to hear about this. granted, I know there aren't many fans of his probably, but his performances in "A Knight's Tale" and especially "The Patriot", were well done.

I really liked his role as Gabriel in "The Patriot". To me, that was one of his best roles. he also stars opposite Christian Bale in the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight". So, even though his family may never see this, I would like to give them my sympathies.

Its really kind of sad too, that so many younger people are passing away now days. It kind of makes you wonder, if getting help or not would actually help them or make them feel worse.

I have had two cousins who had passed away at young ages and it isn't easy, because they had so much of their life left to live and then it ends so suddenly.

Anyway, I know none of his friends or family, will probably see this message, but I wish to give the family/friends my sympathies.

Once again, my fan fic seems to be on hold, I'm in a the state of a writers block >_< and can't get out of it at the moment. But I am hoping to get my inspiration going again, so I can finish it. I have a friend, who is anxious to read it I think lol.

Today, I finished the lineart for a Naruto fan art. I'm okay with how Naruto (Can't....draw....hands!! >_< LOL!) and Sakura turned out, But, Kakashi, looks like he did a GIANT jutsu! T_T Maybe, its just the way I'm looking at the drawing.

Anyway, I should have that uploaded sometime either this weekend or on my next days off. It will be just the line art for now, then I will color the image, using colored pencils.

I am still learning how to shade with those, because I mostly used to only draw the image using pencils, and then outline using an ink pen. I never used to color my drawings. however, I still do the two things mentioned above, but lately, i have been trying to figure out how to blend using my colored pencils. It isn't easy and it is time consuming, but can be worth it in the end.

I eventually want to get one of those tablets, you can hook up to your computer. the kind you can draw with, color with and do all kinds of stuff. but, those aren't cheap either. It has always been a thing for me, to learn how to CG my drawings and make them all sparkly and pretty, like the way I see a lot of you fellow artists doing.

I envy you guys....ALOT! I have heard people say, that you can color your works, using Microsoft paint. I have tried, but it seems more time consuming, than using colored pencils.

So, I guess, my question to those who read this is...what is your favorite coloring medium and why? If I can figure out how to do a poll on this, I will ^^() I have never made a poll on here before.

Anyway, I hope, that my inspiration continues. Drawing and writting, have always been one of my fave things to do, even IF i'm not good at either one, to me, its at least an effort and the only thing that can happen, is that my technique will only get better with time and Practice.

Currently, there are parts of this story that I am going to change. There are one or two areas that are repeated it seems like and will get fixed, before the final version of the chapter is released.

Chapter I: Uzumaki Naruto, The Sixth Hokage

It was a cool clear day, as Naruto awakened to the sounds of the wildlife outside. Getting out of bed, Naruto changed his clothes and walked out onto the balcony just off of his bedroom. Leaning over the rail, he watched as the citizens of Konoha began to exit thier homes one by one and begin the new day.

closing his eyes, the young man took a deep breath and sighed. The sounds of the village, alerted his every sense. It wasn't until a little, tiny, cry in his own home, made him take one last look at the scenes unfolding around him and turn and walk inside.

heading out of his bedroom, and into a tiny nursery, Naruto walked silently over to a wooden crib. reaching into the crib, Naruto grabbed his son and craddled him gently in his arms. "What's the matter, Minato?"

While Naruto continued to talk to his 2 week old son, he wasn't aware, that Hinata had sneaked in behind him. She smiled as she watched Naruto, who appeared to be oblivious to anything and everything, except for the tiny miracle in his arms. It was only fitting, that Naruto would want to name his son, after a father he never knew, but, he also wanted to name him after the greatest Hokage and Shinobi, the village had ever seen.

However, a soft knock had alerted Naruto and Hinata, that there were things that needed to be done. Most importantly, was a meeting with the other village's leaders. Walking into the nursery, the young and beautiful kunoichi walked over and gave her husband a kiss on the cheek and took the yawning, stretching infant from him.

"Well, I guess that is probably the messenger, letting me know about today's agenda. I suppose, I should answer it and see what he wants."

Hinata could only look on, and watch, as Naruto changed and prepared to leave. she couldn't belive, that after so long, she and Naruto finally got married and had their first child, Minato. She never knew, just how much, Naruto made her happy and just how happy she made Naruto. Even though, when they were still teenagers, Naruto would recognize her but, he seemed distant when it came to acknowleding feelings.

UPDATE: Currently, I am writting chapter 3 on Mikayla's Wrath, titled The Nightmare's Beginning Down below, is the first half of the chapter, in which Aura has a horrible vision.

Chapter 3: The Nightmare's Beginning

Aura walked out onto the balcony, of Capsule Corp. She walked over to the railing and leaned on it, immediately she felt the cold sting of the metal pierce her skin. Looking up into the sky, she could sense, that something wasn't right.

Ever since she arrived in the past, it felt as if there was a sudden shift. A shift either in time, space or possibly both. Perhaps, it wasn't the best idea to travel into the past. Just maybe, she would start a chain of events, that could very well lead to the downfall of this time as well. She no longer wanted to hurt those that she cared about and loved.

However, she found herself thinking about 'him'. she wasn't sure why, but instead of an intense hatred, she could sense a horrible sadness about him. She felt, that he had seen horrors in his life, that matched hers, or worse. She had noticed, that within that split second they had met, that he was a very handsome and attractive young man. Unfortunately, she had no idea who this "princess" was, that he was speaking of.

She closed her eyes and her thoughts had drifted back to the words he had spoken to her. But, before she could even think about those words, a sudden grip took a hold of her and she seen her self standing in torrential down pour of rain. Lightining lit up the sky and the smell of death was hanging heavily in the air. Walking around, within this vision, Aura watched as two dark figures battled against one another, with a burning intensity. One had a burning red aura and the other, a pure, blue aura. Both fighters, appeared to be exhausted, at first, it seemed like nothing could keep them from battling one another. but then, it happend, a transformation, that Aura recognized all to well, a transformation, that once again brought forth the horror she experienced in the future.

In that instant, a swell of pain arose within her head. A pain, she had never felt until now. Before she could finish the vision, everything around her went dark and then...there was nothing but silence.

NOTE: It is possible, that I may rework this half of the story. To me, there are some things that need to be fixed. Probably, punctuation, spelling and the like.

It WOULD be kind of cool, if there were those who were interested, to draw their versions of my characters. (Aura, Khayle, Aura's Twin, Gohan.) If I could do it, I would hold a contest, but alas, I don't have any way of awarding any kind of prizes or anything. My drawing skills are seariously lagging and Its as if i am no longer inspired. *sigh*

Life seemed so much simpler when I was still in school/High school & here I am, nearing 30 and still, no where NEAR as skilled as I had hoped to be. I have always wanted to take up CGing skills, and use paint shop to color and add depth and scope to my artwork and to edit it and make it the way I want to.

One of my fave drawings, that I have done, is my KH one, that I titled sanctuary and a few, that I don't have uploaded here on Deviantart. a few, are original characters and about 4 go along with an rpg, that I was a part of on The House Of Bean Dip. A forum, that is a fan club to Kyle Hebert, VA of Gohan from DBZ, Kiba from Naruto and other characters, that he has voiced.

I would also like to take this time, and let those of you who are interested, that Chapter 2 of Mikayla's Wrath has been posted. I hope to start on chapter 3 within a day or two and get it posted. I DID notice, that I have several spelling errors in my chapt 2, and I will also go through and correct those as well.

I have been having trouble, with my laptop's keyboard, as he keys have been sticking alot lately, and I haven't been able to figure out, why they are doing that.

Also, in other Fan Fiction news, I am typing up a Naruto fan fiction, titled Sasuke's Return. The story takes place sometime after the end of Naruto. In reality, I don't know how Naruto will end, so the story I am typing up, isn't based on the ending of the show and is one, that I created in my own head. I am hoping, that it will only be about a three chapter story, as Mikayla's Wrath, will be a little longer than that, and will take up alot of my time, when writting my fan fiction.

I am also in the process, of creating artwork to go with the story, so that it has some kind of illustrations to go with it. I may just post the lineart, for the simple fact, that I have never been good at coloring or shading. I mean hell, I've had an art teacher, who thought that my fan art was nothing but a bunch of chicken scratches on paper! lol

Anyway, I suppose I should stop ranting. its almost 5am where I live and I need to get some sleep. Again, happy holidays to each and every one of you and I wish you the best during his time of year!

Anyway, today, at 10:30am, just as I was leaving to go to work, I get a call for a new job! I'm totally happy now, but then again, slightly depressed, because I know, that my boss isn't going to like me leaving, especially since I have been there going on 5 years.

But, I see no future in staying at a place, where your not even happy, you don't have any kind of benefits (other than a free meal), and they don't even believe you when you bring a note in about your car being broke down or being sick.

See, I'm not one of the "good" people that work there. Basically, I'm just a worker who shows up, doesn't hardly get a thank-you, kiss my butt or good-bye. And when you need to ask a question, unless you are someone that the boss likes, she won't talk to you, unless its necessary.

Anyway, I guess what I am trying to say, is that I will be more than happy to leave that place, but I want to leave it on a good note, so that if by chance the job I will taking, doesn't work out for me, I would like to go back until I find something that WILL work for me.

In other news, I hope those of you who are reading Mikayla's Wrath are finding it interesting. I don't know why, but I really like 's character. there is just so much mystery and wonder behind her, along with all the rage and neglect she has felt in her life.

I really feel honored that she has let me write some fan fictions based on and around her character. along with my own original characters.

Don't worry though, I do plan on redoing some of these and correcting the punctuation, spelling and grammar as soon as I can. I'm usually pretty busy and I don't know anyone, who would be willing to. But, I hope you all like the stories none-the-less.

If you seen any fan fics on here, you would like to see continued, other than my Mikayla's wrath (which I DO want to finish) feel free to let me know.

Background:
Aura was born after Mirai no Trunks returned from the past and found that a lone warrior was keeping the Androids at bay from destroying the entire world.

Trunks met this woman and found out, that her name was Pan. He took her under his wing and trained her. The two fell in love with one another and in three years after meeting the two married and had their first two children: Aurelia and Gohan. The two are Fraternal twins and are only 10 seconds apart from one another. Aura, is the eldest.

While growing up, Aura was known to be a very strong and capable fighter at a young age and when she was 5, she won her first ever martial arts championship. Her opponent: Her twin brother!

As time went on, Aura and her brother, learned to live with the fact, that their mother and father were a part of a legendary family, who fought and battled numerous forms of evil in the past.

When the twins were 10 years old, they got their chance to fight a horrible evil, that was devastating the planet. The name of this evil, was a brother and sister duo named the Gemini Twins, Satyre and Satyra. It is also at this time, that the twins met and stood up for a young girl who called herself Mikayla Shima.

During the battle with the Gemini Twins, Gohan and Aura realized that Mikayla herself, was just like them and had special powers all her own. She was able to heal their mother, but with the amount of energy needed, she ended up exhausted.

In the end, the twins, unleased an attack, that they specifically created to help defeat something such as this. The attack is quite interesting and it defeated the brother and sister duo with no trouble at all.

Over time, the earth was at peace again and Gohan and Mikayla had started dating three years later at the age of 13. As time went on, and when the twins turned 16 their friend Mikayla took a turn for the worse.

Mikayla suddenly became violent and within a matter of days, she finally lost all emotion and began to destroy the cities and its people. while the twins were out looking for Mikayla, Gohan stumbled across her first and began to fight her, Aura, sensing that something was wrong, changed directions and went towards her brother's energy. As she was racing to his location, it began to pour down rain and storm, an ominous sign, that things were bad.

Upon arriving, she watched as Mikayla attacked with a distraction and then appeared behind her brother, but, it was too late for anything to be done. Aura watched in Horror as Mikayla thrust the final blow into her brother's chest.

Previous to Gohan's downfall, He watched his father and mother get taken out too, before even Aura could sense that they were gone.

Now, filled with rage at finally seeing her whole family lying dead before her, Aura began an awsome and horrifying transformation. By the time she was done, transforming, Mikayla watched as her former friend called out her new form. She called it, the Divine Super Saiyan. A form that goes beyond all other forms and is to date, the most powerful of all.

After seven days of fighting, and no sign of letting up, Aura finally used the last of her energy and powered up one final attack, that nearly destroyed the entire earth and took out everything within a five-thousand mile radius.

Exhausted, Aura fell to the ground and lost her power, she passed out, just as the clouds began to part, letting a brilliant sun shine through the once darkened planet. Now, the sun had nothing to nuture, but death and destruction.

After sleeping for a few days, Aura awakened and got herself up. She buried her friends and family and then, as if she was in a daze, went to the nearly destroyed Capsule corp. building and went to a rejuvenation chamber and used it to bring her health back. Once done, she packed her remaining belongings, found a time machine, like the one her father had used and hopped inside it. The newest addition to my DBZ fan fics, will be one that I have temporarily titled Mikayla's Wrath. Currently, I just have the Prolgue and Chapter 1 finished. I do plan on typing up more chapters in the near future.

In other news, I just went 5 days, without a vehicle again. It seems like that it never fails and it always happens around the same time every year. Luckily though, I got it taken care of again.

Currently, I have no phone line connection at home and I have to go to the library to do any kind of online stuff at the moment. I should have the phoneline hooked back up within the next week. If not then, it will definately be hooked up in a week and a half.

Anyway, during the time, I have not had the net, I have seen a couple new movies. One was Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and the other was Transformers.

Its hard to pick just one of these as being a favorite. To be honest, TF had me hooked more than Pirates this time around and thats kind of saying something.

There are those however, who weren't thrilled with the look of the new Transformers. To be honest, I welcomed the new look and the way the story was presented. but, One person was right about the Autobots and Decepticons not having their backgrounds looked in to further.

But still, I think it is a worthy summer movie that is doing fairly well from what I have read. I know for one thing, I am certainly getting this on DVD when it comes out, along with Pirates.

The next movie I intend to see, is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix It looks to be the best out of the five that have been done so far.

I have read all six books to date, and I am currently rereading Half-Blood Prince while awaiting the seventh and final book.

eventually I want to draw some fan art of HP and its characters, But I have noticed, that I am not very good at drawing characters with glasses. ^^()

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to have some updates to my fan art and fan fiction on my next two days off.

The Fan Fictions, that I had typed up in the past, have yet to be double checked and corrected. I haven't had the time to do so recently and intend to do that on my next couple of days off.

If I don't get to them then, Then I will get to them sometime soon. I work alot and haven't had time to touch up much of anything.

I have some fan art, that goes with the DBZ stories that I have posted on here and have yet to scan them. Once I do scan them, they will be placed in SCRAPS. They are not finished and need to be colored and outlined in black to make it stand out more. Also, the drawings of the characters, are done on lined Notebook paper. Thus, the reason for me putting them in scraps.

Anyway, I'm sure your tired of my sensless ramblings, so I will leave you guys alone =^-^= (Besides, I'm half asleep right now O_O Had to be at work, at 6am this morning! *falls over x_x*

I hope to have more chapters of these stories up soon. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the stories and if you have any ideas, It would be cool to hear them. ^^

Yeah, I've been seeing that alot of artists on here have been doing the 100 sketches challenge and Lately, I have been thinking of doing something like that.

I'm not sure, how to go about the themes of the drawings. I have never done anything like this before and didn't know, if there was a pre-set of categories or if you pick and choose your own.

On Work
Not to long ago, I found out, that a girl who has only been working for less than a month at McDonald's is going to be a shift manager. Now, I have been there going on five years, and I have only been asked once. I turned down the position originally, because they were taking to long to train me and I felt that it was just a waste of time. the Store manager even had me pick out my shirts and everything but, nothing ever got ordered and three months later after I was supposed to have the position, I found myself not trained and not going to the necessary classes that I needed to attend in order to become one indefinately.

I feel bad that I am ranting and raving about this here, but, it just seems a little unfair to those of us, who have been there for several years and this one person, who doesn't have hardly any experience in working there, is suddenly becoming a shift manager. To top it off, she is younger than me too T_T lol.

Anyway, its kind of depressing and when I told her about me and getting asked for the position about three years ago, she said she just walked up and asked the store manager if she could possibly be a manager and lo and behold, she got an interview with the owner of our store and got the position.

Currently, I am looking for a new job. I just can't take it anymore, especially when one works their butt off and doesn't get anything to show for it. going on five years and only making 6.70 an hour, just isn't cutting it for me.

Anyway, sorry bout the ranting ^^ lol.

Nintendo DS
Not long ago, I got a Nintendo DS to replace my old Gameboy Advance. I also wanted a portable system, that I could take with me on trips and if I was in a vehicle, plane, etc., I could play the system without any worry of having not enough light.

Currently, I own four games. those four games are:

===Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
===Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
===Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy
===Zoo Tycoon DS

I have played the first three, and enjoy them alot. the FMA game, has a lot of little extras that are cool and the Castlevania series on the DS reminds me alot of Castlevania Symphony of the Night's playing style and graphics. Though, I wish Alucard would come back one more time as the main character.

My recent addition, is Zoo Tycoon. I haven't played it yet, but, it looks like fun. Now, I can build my dream zoo and see how it does.

In other things random, I also got a book of Sudoku puzzles. Unfortunately, I am new to this game craze and have yet to try and figure out how exactly to solve the puzzles, and do it logically and correct.

It seems like its fun, but, I've never been good a Logical type puzzles. But, I hope to fix that, by trying Sudoku.

FINALLY!! whew! took a while for me to get a USB cable, but I finally got one! whoo hoo!

I'll probably start scanning sometime this week or on my day off. Most of my drawings, except for a couple, will be put into SCRAPS. A lot of my fanart, is also done on lined paper. Eventually, I will try and redo them, but right now, I would just like to scan them, and see how they do.

I don't have anyway of coloring fanart, other than by doing it the old fashioned way. (meaning Colored pencils). I'm not good at trying to CG things and if you see a piece of art, that you would like to try and color yourself, I would be more than happy to see how things turn out on the drawings.

There is one piece of art, that I will post on here at some point. It was actually a piece of envelope art, that I was going to send in to Nintendo Power at one time. The drawing is at least 15 years old. I drew it one day at the bowling ally, while my dad was bowling there. I colored it in, with colored pencils.

I had submitted other envelope art to them, but none was published. I did get a letter published in there though lol ^^.

anyway, enough rambling. Once again, in just a couple of days, I will be posting fan art. the art, until I can redo it and until I can color some things, will be put into SCRAPS

Currently, the doctors know that her liver is the reason for all of her problems. They said, that if she is able to come home, that she will eventually have to go back to Iowa City for more tests and possibly treatments.

But, I don't want to get all depressed again. Anyway, I am going to be starting on a fan fiction, titled [b]Chronicles of Valora[/b]. It will be a fantasy based story, and I will do my best to spell check and check for grammatical errors as well. But, I hope that what I will type out, will please you, the reader, as well as anyone else who comes across it. I plan on starting Chronicles tomorrow.

Also, down below, is like a little test thing, to see if it would even sound the least bit interesting to anyone. If you like it cool, if not, please don't bash it lol, i've never written in first person before, so you will have to excuse the spelling, punctuation and what not on this little excerpt

Unfortunately, when I got my laptop, I realized that it didn't come with a floppy disc drive and so, i may have to get one that I can hook up to my Laptop, so that I can also rewrite and redo some of my previous fan fics and to make them sound less stupid and more the way I wanted them to be.

The idea, has been in my head for over 3 years now, but typing it out, has been a tad bit difficult, as I can't seem to get the grammar the way I want.

Anyway, this half of the story, is actually the main Heroine, Arysta talking. kind of like a prologue I guess you could say. There are a couple places in which her love interest, Ba'lyn (pronounced Baylin), speaks to her after finding her out in the wilderness near their encampment.

Chronicles of Valora: Rough Prelude

There was once a time, when I would have given anything, to watch as my life turned out for the best. However, that was before I realized that I was what my people called, the Chosen One. Living in the land of Valora, was never dull, nor was living in the capital, Valoria. A beautiful city, that had some of the most beloved people in all the land living together in one, giant Utopia.
Valoria, was a city, that was forged by two great rulers. King Angelo and his Elven Queen, Vin'Diela. It was a time of great prosperity and fortune. My father, who was also Elven, took a human to be his bride. Both were part of the Royal Court and were well respected. In truth, my father, An'durin, was actually, the leader of the Knights of Valora. My mother, Shelia, was actually one of the Queen's bodyguards and most trusted confidant.

The peace of Valora and its capital, lasted for over 1,000 years. in all that time, there were no wars for territory or power. However, the reign of peace, was not to last. 5 years ago, the kingdom went up in flames. Men, women and children were slaughtered before my eyes. Hell, even my own family. Me and my brother, were the last to attempt to flee. However, we became seperated from one another and unable to meet up.

10 days had passed, before I came upon another village. It was there, that a family took me in. But, I only stayed until I was well enough to travel and then headed back out again. I felt, that if I traveled around enough, that I would locate my brother and together we could seek out our kingdom's destroyers. Sadly, my search was in vain. I was no closer to locating my brother, than I was in finding the destroyers of my homeland.

At some point, I had passed out from hunger and thirst. It wasn't until I had awakened in a camp of some kind that I realized that something was amiss. Getting up, I opened the flap on my tent. I looked around in awe at what I had seen. There were soldiers, hundreds of them, all over the place. Stepping outside, I wrapped my arms around me. Where ever I was, it was cold. Just then, someone walked behind me and placed a warm blanket upon my shoulders. Swiftly I turned around, a knife in my hand and pointing at the mysterious stranger before me. My eyes were blazing as I stared into his. He was calm, collected and very...handsome.

It didn't take long for him to tell me his name. It was Ba'lyn. It was pretty much a repeat of the January incident in which threw up a large quantity of blood. It took the ambulance about 20 to 25 minutes to arrive at my apartment to pick her up. I, didn't make it into town until about 2am, due to the poor weather conditions that we were having (heavy winds, blowing and drifting snow, which in turn, caused white-out in some places and parts of the road to be unrecognizable.)

I finally make it into town and to the ER, where they had my mom hooked up and ready to go. The doctor on call that night, was a real ass and was blaming me for her not getting a prescription of a medication, that wasn't even prescribed to her in the first place! But, after listening to that looser of a doctor, my mom was once again placed into a room overnight for observation. They say, that her condition, is called Esophageal varices (sp?) or however you spell it lol. It pertains to blood vessels, that are near the surface in the esophagus. (an article on what that is, can be found here: [link]) NOTE: there are images of the throat contained in this article.

Anyway, we hope that it will be taken care of, while she is down in Iowa City, IA at the University of Iowa. Until tonight, they weren't going to admit her until March 14th, but the doctor called them and told them the situation.

Currently, I do not know, when she will come back home. however, I just thought I would post this to get my feelings out and to pray for her recovery. I would have went down myself, but money is tight and I don't have the gas to make it down there at this time.

I have described it in the way that I have, because I am pretty down right now about what happend to my mom.

so, I can only say this, read at your own risk. In my opinion, it doesn't sound so bad as actually seeing the things like I did, anyway, thats all I have to say for now.

It seems like my reign of depression will never come to an end.

Not long ago; about two weeks ago actually, my mom got really sick and threw up such a large quantity of blood, that they needed to replace what she had lost. She was in the hospital for three days and three nights and on the fourth day, she got to come home.

In all honesty, I actually dialed 911 because I was so scared, that I literally thought she was going to die right infront of me. I even called off of work, because of this. To me, my mother is more important than my job anyway.

Then about three days after she came home, her legs began to swell to a horrible size and eventually some kind of fluid could be seen oozing out of both of her legs. So, once again she had to go to the doctor and it was here, that they told me, that she has some form of liver disease, or if you want a technical name, cerossis (sp?) of the liver and its not the kind you get from drinking alcohol, as my mom does not drink.

Anyway, we found out, that the blood she threw up, was from a condition in which little vericose vein type things appear in ones esophogus(sp?). And what happend was, was that whatever she ate or drank, irritated those and caused them to bleed at a terrible rate, causing her to lose so much blood.

As for the fluid that was exiting her body, through her legs, that is from the liver disease that she has, and the doctor assured me, that if it wasn't treated and treated soon, that she CAN die from it, and that is the last thing I want to happen.

So, we are trying to get her to the University of Iowa hospital, in Iowa City, which is about a 5 hour drive from here. Unfortunately, I may not be able to go with her

For one, I don't get paid for days that I miss at work, and two, I would have to stay in a hotel and I can't afford that. If I could, I would stay at the hospital, but they don't have any way of housing a patients family or friends.

Anyway, I just had to get this stuff off of my mind. Its kind of depressing and I am sorry for grossing you out, if I have done so, it was not my intention. anyway, take care everyone and I hope you had a happy new year!

In other news, on New years eve, we got a pretty decent snowfall. As a matter of fact, the snow plows, couldn't even get it all off of the road because it was drifting and blowing so much, so I was driving about 30-40 mph, depending on how bad spots were on the road.

Just out of curiousity, what is your idea of a new years resolution? My resolution, is to find a better paying job and to get hired at that job and stay there until I can earn enough money to move back home to Illinois.

PART 2
Well, I finally made it home safe and sound. My Flights back however, didn't go without having a few glitches. While waiting to leave St. Louis, They had to fix a few things that needed repaired. Can't remember what they were, but, we didn't leave until around 7:40am (my actual Flight was supposed to leave at 6:15am or at least somewhere around there. Boarding time was 5:55am). Then, I find out, that I was going to miss my connecting flights leaving Minneapolis to Sioux City at 8:40 and 9:03, so, I wasn't able to fly home until about 11:30.

So, all in all, I guess my first experiences on a plane were quite interesting. This time however, I didn't get the airsickness, that I got on my first two flights to my destinations. Fortunately, I did what everyone had told me to, and chewed on some gum and that made me feel tons better. It helped ease the tension that I was feeling on my first two flights.

Before I left each airport however, I got me a few souveniers. My dad had given me some extra money, and since I hadn't been home in a while, I thought I would pick a couple of things up from each airport, especially from Minneapolis, since it was my first time there.

From St. Louis, I got two neat looking Shot Glasses. One has things that are located in St. Louis, such as the new Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch, The Planetarium, and the plane, Spirit of St. Louis. From Minneapolis, I got a purple Laniard that says Minnesota, a Minnesota purple tie-dye shirt & a cobalt blue Shot Glass that says Minneapolis on it. (I think I am going to start collecting shot glasses from now on. They have some pretty neat ones out there, thats for sure! lol)

Anyway, just thought I would share some things with you as well as my experiance on a plane ^^. I think the First plane I was on, On the way home, was a Jet and it went to an altitude of 28,000 feet, the other plane I got on was a small Prop. Plane (Propeller) and I think its altitude was either 17,000 or 18,000 feet.

In other news, I had a wonderful Christmas! I got a pair of pajamas, a housecoat and some house slippers from my dads girlfriend and from my dad, he game me some money as did one of my sisters. My other sister, was supposed to give me a giftcard from Wal-Mart lol, but she kept forgetting about it.

My nieces and nephews are doing wonderful! I can't belive, how big they have grown in such a short time! my goodness! However, two of the little girls were sick while I was there, So, I wouldn't be surprised if I don't start feeling the effects soon. It seems like it never fails, everytime I come back from visiting down there, I almost always get sick when I come back home.

While I was down there, I also put in some resumes, hoping to get a job back home. I mostly put the resumes in the warehouses that are there. I found out, that if I get hired on at this one, I could start out at 10 bux and hour and in 90 days, I would move up to 11! So, I have my fingers crossed and I am hoping and praying, that one of them calls so that I can get an interview, a job and a way back home.

PART 1

....That is once you get over the airsickness, LOL! Anyway, I would have called my friends and family when I got in, but I was on roaming the whole way. So, if you read this Sugar, I will have to call you from my dad's home phone.

Anyway, Flying was an interesting experiance, however, it didn't start out very good at all. I was supposed to leave out on the 21st and my flight got cancelled until friday. after getting a vouture for food and a hotel room, I made my first flight just fine.

Then, when I got into the Minneapolis/St.Paul Airport in Minnesota, I was amazed at HUGE this airport was. I couldn't belive it! the biggest airport I was ever in when I was younger, was Lambert Airport in St. Louis. Well, its easy enough to say, that MSP's Airport is much bigger than that lol.

I also finally got to meet a long time online friend while I was up there. Based on Christopher Paolini's book series, Eragon, the first in the "Inheritance" Trilogy, has finally made its way to the big screen. But, does it stand up to its main counterpart? Or, could it be the next in line for a visually stunning motion picture epic? The answer: HARDLY!

When I paid the $3.50 for the matinee, I was hoping that I was going in to watch a movie that was worth seeing again possibly. But, My money kinda of went down the drain. While it had some interesting visuals, the movie itself didn't last very long and that was one of the main disappointments. The book easily could have transformed into a 2hr & 45 minute picture, but sadly, it only lasted a mear 1hr & 30min! It was as if they were trying to cram all they could in that amount of time and try to tell the story. But, I'm sorry, for a book that is over 500 pages, it could have been so much better.

Now the actors, were okay I guess. Jeremy Irons did a good job on Brom (though I think they made Brom a little more mean, than what he is in the book.) but as for Eragon, They could have casted someone a little better I think. Arya was also a disappointment as were a few other notable things that were MISSING that made the story in the first place. As for Galbatorix, OMG! couldn't they have given the roll to someone else! I know there are FAR better actors out there who would have done the Evil King more justice than what the current actor did.

Down below, is a numbered list (not in any order of course) of what was changed and what was missing that I think they should have put in the movie.

1. Instead of meeting a man in Carvahall and going to another town to earn money so he can marry Katrina, Roran instead, enlists in the military.

2. When the book opens up, Eragon is already in the spine hunting. In the movie, he leaves to go hunting in the Spine early in the movie. (though this is a small change and can be easily overlooked.)

3. When Eragon takes the "Stone" to the butcher to buy meat for the winter, He leaves without anything. Horst nor Katrina appear in this part of the film either.

4. Arya is SUPPOSED to be an Elf. If she is an Elf, then where are her pointed ears that are mentioned in the book?

5. Zar' Roc is also different. In the book, it is described as having a "ruby", whereas in the movie, it has a blue stone. Also, in the book, Zar' Roc's sheath, is red, in the movie, it is black.

6. When Eragon first rides Saphira, he gets wounds on the insides of his legs from Saphira's scales. In the movie, he does not.

7. Also, in the book, Saphira doesn't mention her own name, instead, Eragon names her after Brom had given him a list of dragon's names.

8. When Brom is dying, he tells Eragon that he was once a rider & he shows him his Gedway Ignasia or Shining Palm, which Brom covered up. He then goes on to tell Eragon what the name of his dragon was, and was also named for Saphira. In the movie, Eragon cuts off a scrap of cloth and sees Brom's Gedwey Ignasia. Also of note, Brom trains Eragon much more in the book than in the movie. Brom can also talk to Saphira and is pretty calm and also uses other forms of "magic" other than fire.

9. In the book, Eragon learns where his name comes from, which is from the very first rider who also bore the same name as the main protaganist, but instead of being human, he was instead an elf. Humans became riders later on.

10. Murtagh (sp?) helps Eragon out much sooner in the book than in the movie. In the movie, Murtagh doesn't show up until Eragon goes to rescue Arya.

11. In the book, Arya induces herself into a coma, where she doesn't awake until she reaches the Varden, and even then, it isn't until near the end of the book. In the movie, she is pretty much awake the entire time. Also left out, is her so-called "Test" in which she tests Eragon on his swordsmanship and then goes on to tell him that he is ready to continue his training in Ellesmera.

12. Another big disappointment, came in the form of the Urgals. In the book, Urgals were described as big, hairy and having what looked like rams horns sprouting from their heads. In the movie, they are nothing more than humans who grunt and carry weapons.

Well, well, well, looks like I have had another FINE week with my car! Yes indeedy! blasted thing....T_T Why is it, that everytime I go to do something that will be the slightest bit of fun, my car decides it wants to break down! Its so unfair! lol

Anyway, at first I thought it was the Transmission going out on the car, and now, it won't start right. I used to just wiggle the battery cables and the car would start right up. However, I think there is more to what its doing, than what it is letting on.

So, I have an appointment to get my car looked at, at around 2:30...but NOT until tomorrow! *sigh* so, that means, I have to miss work today in because my car decided that it doesn't want to take me. T_T As for tomorrow, it, is actually my true day off. I was Supposed to work 11am to 7pm. But, because of the rules, I have to call in two hours ahead of time so I don't get written up.

Funny thing is, is that this car didn't start doing all of this, until I moved to where I live right now lol.

ON MOVIES....
Just recently, I rented three movies. The three movies rented were: CARS, THE DA VINCI CODE, and SUPERMAN RETURNS.

Of the three, I really enjoyed Disney's CARS. It was a really cute movie (and long for it being animated and Disney) and will eventually own it, when I can afford it.

As for the other two, they were good in their own right, but If I had to say, which one I liked better, it would have to be SUPERMAN RETURNS.

I have always been a fan of the originals and I thought that the new kid they got to play as Superman was actually pretty decent. He tried his best to capture the character that Christopher Reeve made famous back in the 80's

As for the DA VINCI CODE, I think, that could have been so much better than it actually was. Some parts were pretty cheesy and other parts well, could be a tad confusing. However, I read the book, so I understood what was going on. But, even the movie did a lousy job explaining everything. So, my suggestion on the DA VINCI CODE...The book is WAY better in my opinion.

ON CHRISTMAS CARDS...

Then, there is the task of getting these little critters out and in the mail. Every year, I think I get these things out later and later. I can never get them out on time.

Plus, my trip is coming up in a week and I would like to get these out before I leave. So, once I get off of here, I suppose my quest to finish them, will continue.

Also, on December 21st, I will taking a flight down home for Christmas. My dad is helping me get down there, since I am unable to afford it ^^()

Plus, I haven't been down for a christmas since I moved to Iowa back in 2001. My plane leaves the airport at 5pm on the 21st and then it will stop in Minneapolis, MN and there I will have to wait two hours and change flights. Then, it will be off to St. Louis, MO where I will arrive around Midnight.

To be honest, I have NEVER been on a plane in all my life. Especially after September 11th. I guess you can say that I am paranoid more than anything lol! Everyone tells me, its not so bad, so I guess I will give it a chance.

Its hard to belive the things they have banned on a plane (I.E. Shampoos and other things) so I will have to buy that stuff when I get home to Illinois. But, don't worry, I won't forget my little space here. I'll be checking it nightly =^-^=

So, In a little over two weeks I will be back home *sigh* It will feel nice to see all my family again. I just feel guilty though, leaving my mom up here in Iowa by herself. If I could afford it, I would take her along, but, oh well, Perhaps next year maybe.

Where to begin on this. It seems like only yesterday, that I got into the FF series in the first place; thanks to an introduction to Final Fantasy VII, by my cousin back home in Illinois.

In Final Fantasy XII, the latest installment of the series, we are taken back to the land of Ivalice. The name of the country, should sound familiar to those who have played FF Tactics. Ivalice, was the name of the country in which that game took place. However, as far as I know, you won't see any mention of Ramza, Delita or any of the previous characters. I guess, if you want some slight reference, Ondore could probably ALMOST pass as a slight reference to the Marquis Elmdore, who in Tactics, was one of the main villians. But, its a little far fetched.

So far, My only complaint in this installment is the Battle System. I mean sure, the battle system has been redone and is DEFINATELY different than a turn-based game, but sometimes, I kinda find it a little unfair, MAINLY in boss battles. As far as fighting normal enemies, the battle system is actually kinda of easy to follow. But, when you encounter a boss, it becomes quite the challenge and can become quite aggravating to those who are not used to it. As a matter of fact, because I'M not used to that kind of system, I found myself meeting the game over screen VERY often (but, only against boss battles), so I guess you can say, that me and that screen are pretty well acquainted right now! lol

Also, enemies follow you and in some boss battles, the bosses also gang up on you and sometimes, you have a hard time fighting back, thus the game over screen comes VERY prematurely. For instance: Currently, I have Vaan, Basch, Fran and a guest character that I can't even remember right now. Currently, the objective is, to rescue Ashe. However, the battle you fight, is against normal soldiers and then two Judges. As soon as the battle starts, the enemies gang up on you right away and I found myself in several sticky situations and not even 2 minutes into the fight, My characters were wiped out. Now, the enemy that gave me the MOST trouble, was the MIMIC QUEEN. *rolls eyes* Good lord, I don't want to have to fight that thing again unless I have to! Even though, the monster is weak against ice, it still took a while to defeat, Eventually though, I came up with a strategy and defeated it.

I think I have talked enough about the battle system, now, lets move on the best parts; Story, graphics, Music and the like.

The story, is VERY well written, the characters and environments, are the best I have seen yet in an RPG and are so detailed! In one scene, you can actually SEE the texture of a scar on the character, Basch! Its amazing! The cinemas are even more detailed and even more than a few steps better than its predecessors in every single way.

The Music, has a good score and if you purchased the special limited edition (which I did), you got the game in a metal case, plus you got a bonus DVD, which allowed you to basically find out how they made the game, how they came up with the many different elements, such as the battle system, the License system, Gambit system and so on and so forth. Also on the disc, is a gallery of artwork, the History of Final fantasy in which key points of each game (1-XIII *XIII is only mentioned not seen*) are highlighted and what made each game unique in its own right. There are also a couple of other features, however, right now, I don't remember them right off.

Also, there was a Limited Edition Strategy Guide released for this game too. The limited edition guide came with an Artbook, with official art from the game as well as the Brady signature guide with a special cover that came with one of 5 or six characters (can't remember >_<: Vaan, Fran, Ashe, Balthier, Penelo. Also, the cover that holds all of this, has the Judges on the front and back. So if you are a die-hard fan of FF, (like me =^-^ then go for the special edtions, however, if you are unable to afford those (considering the Limited edtion of the game is 59.99 and the Limited Edition Guide is 29.99) Then even the regular edtions are awsome too!

Just out of curiousity, How many of you .hack fans out there, got the latest and newest chapter to the .hack series? I know I did! =^-^= Anyway, If you pre-ordered the game through GameStop, you got a limited edition Haseo figure when you purchased the game, along with a "terminal disc" that allowed you to view previous game footage as well as the previous series' storyline. You can also use your previou saved game data from the previous series (LOL! have I said "previous" to much? I think so lol jk , to ADD to the information as well as other interesting stuff.

However, I wasn't able to pre-order the game, and I was sadly disappointed, thinking that I wasn't going to be able to get the one with the figure in it. So, when I went to GameStop to pick up Phantasy Star Universe, I was in shock to find out, that they had ONE copy of the Limited Edition release of .hack//G.U. Vol 1 left! I immediatly went for the .hack game instead and asked them if they could hold on to Phantasy star for another two weeks and they agreed ^^. I was so excited!

The Haseo figure, I think, is done really well and it even comes with his trademark Twin Blades. I was kind of disappointed though, when it didn't come with a stand to place him on, so, I just left him in the good-sized box and have it on display =^-^=

this new installment, takes place around 2 years after the incident with the .hackers and the player named Kite and introduces us to Haseo; a PKK (A player-killer Killer) who has earned the nickname "The Terror of Death".

Anyway, Haseo is after one certain PK, known simply as Tri-Edge. For fans of the series, Tri-Edge will look awfully familiar to you, VERY familiar. Eventually Haseo confronts Tri-Edge, but at what cost? It appears, that the fate of the online game, "The World: R2" is in his hands.
Compared to the first .hack series of games, this one seems to be ALOT better than its predecessors. The game play is much more simplified and seems to me, to be better balanced. The character Haseo, is much more confident than Kite is in the first series of games, albeit, cocky too! He especially detests PKs and hunts them down, which in a sense, almost makes him no better than they are.

Unlike the first series of the .hack games, I hope to continue THIS story. Sadly, I wasn't able to get any of the games that took place after .hack//INFECTION and eventually they became hard to find and not even GameStop has gotten any of the older volumes in the series as used games in. (except for INFECTION)

Also prominent in the new series, is several references to the previous series of games. For instance, Macha (pronounced Maha) has been in just about every .hack series that I can remember. Although, I think she was absent in .hack//LEGEND OF THE TWILIGHT. Also, mentions of the .hackers such as; Orca, Balmung and Helba as well as BlackRose and Kite are present.

I think, as the new series of games progresses, it would be neat to see the return of old faces. So far, in the first installment, there are no familiar faces, unless you count the character, Piros. Though, I am unsure if he is the same one that was in the original .hack games (actually I don't even know if I spelled his name right! lol)

Anyway, as I get further into this game, I will be back with a little bit of a better review. I will also do my best, to not try and ruin the storyline. so far though, I can tell you, that I like this series much better than the first four games.

Anyway, I just though I would share my experiences since it IS getting close to Halloween. If you have a ghost story to tell, feel free to share it!

To be honest, I have always believed in the supernatural. I've had feelings like I was being watched and saw things that weren't really there. My mom and dad thought that I was acting a little strange and that I needed to think about other things and not some ghost or spirit. They said that those things didn't exist. But, all that changed one summer day when I decided to head up to Cherokee, Iowa to visit my mom. Two years earlier, her and my dad had divorced. I stayed home in Illinois with my dad and my mom, wanting to get away from everything and start over, moved to Iowa.

My actual first encounter with any kind of spirit or entity happened when I lived back home in Illinois. I was visiting a male friend when it happened. Of course he told me all about the ghost he dubbed "Casper." He had told me that Casper loved to play pranks; i.e. move things, make appearances and the like, and that he seemed to be attached to a very old dresser. My friend also told me that he watched as something "brushed" its fingers through his now ex-wife's hair!

The encounter I had with "Casper" was my first (although before that I would just have ominous feelings and nothing interesting would happen). It was a normal day when I went over to visit him. He was working up in the attic. As we were talking he asked me if I wanted anything to drink. He ended up getting me a Coke from his fridge. Deciding he was going to go up in the attic again, we placed our drinks on a bookshelf in the living room. His drink was on one shelf and mine under his. While up in the attic, I would constantly look into the living room as if something was there. I had a very clear view of this room and could easily see anyone enter or exit it. Even out of the corner of my eye, I could see fine.

Once done in the attic, my friend climbed down the ladder and we went back to the living room and went to grab our drinks when I noticed that mine was missing. I looked at my friend and asked him what he did with my Coke. He smiled at me and said it wasn't him and that it was Casper who did this. Now, I would have known if my friend had moved it on me, as there was a lot of clutter about in the living room and of course the view of the living room that I had.

Finally we started to look for the Coke can and after searching his whole house, wouldn't you believe it, we found the Coke sitting on the dresser that is supposedly inhabited by my friends resident ghost! After that, I was definitely a believer!

My next encounters would happen in Cherokee, Iowa in the years 2000 to 2004. After traveling for 10 hours and arriving in the town, I met up with my mother and we then headed to her apartment which was located on one half of the upper floor of a house that is over 100 years old.

The house, which I found was dated back to about the late 1880s or 1890s and had once been some kind of hospital where cancer patients had been treated -- it was called the Cherokee Cancer Sanitarium. This place, once I arrived, I could feel that it had some kind of a background to it. The strange feelings that I got from it when I walked up to it almost became unbearable. There was one particular room in the house that made me feel uncomfortable and it also gave me a strange feeling that something traumatic happened in there. Also of note is that this house supposedly had a tunnel running from it to the house(s) across the street and next door. However, as far as I can tell, if there was a tunnel there, it has been sealed off and you are unable to tell exactly where it was.

My first true encounter in the house happened at night. I was lying on the couch when I had the feeling that someone or something was watching me. I looked up toward the closet door saw someone standing there, hidden in the shadows -- it looked like a tall, burly man wearing a suit and what looked like a bowler hat. After seeing this, I thought I was dreaming, but I knew I was awake. After seeing this I became slightly frightened by "his" appearance. I figured that maybe it was the former doctor who owned the building. But unfortunately I couldn't see his face, only what looked like a black shadow where the face should have been. Needless to say, I covered up my face with my blanket and kept my eyes closed.

After that event I told my mother, who is pretty much a non-believer in that sort of thing. She always tells me that unless something happens to her, then she isn't worried about it. Then, down the road, we got into the newest system called a Nintendo. Before long, we had amassed over 30 titles (one of those titles being the VERY rare KID ICARUS game! Which...I sadly sold -_-) and then, wouldn't you know it, they pretty much pronounced the old NES "dead" and then the next gen console came out, the Super Nintendo. Unlike the original NES, I didn't have many games for this system. (BRUTAL: PAWS OF FURY, TMNT: TURTLES IN TIME, TMNT: TOURNAMENT FIGHTERS, LEGEND OF ZELDA, & STAR FOX to name a few)

As time wore on, I came upon a tv commercial. It had (at that time) some of the coolest graphics that I had ever seen for a video game. That game was none other than my first venture into RPGs, FINAL FANTASY VII!! Since I got that game, I was hooked only and specificly on the Playstation.

Of course, the system was almost twice those of the NES & SNES. When I got my PS it cost me around $299 Bux!! and for that time, it was outrageously expensive! and after a nice long reign, The Playstation seemed to be slowing "Dying" and a new and improved Playstation was ready to take the throne and that my friends, was the Playstation 2. I cannot remember exactly the price I paid for this system, I think it was around $399, if I remember correctly (Almost $100 more than the first PS!) The first games I got for this new and improved system, were: DOA: HARDCORE, DARK CLOUD, & ORPHEN: SCION OF SORCERY and, not long after those games were released, the original DEVIL MAY CRY and METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY were released.

Anyway, now, it appears we are drawing ever closer to the release date of the Next Gen Playstation, the Playstation 3. I have been reading different magazine articles and almost all of them state that Sony is planning on releasing two versions with different sizes of Memory. The cheapest one, will come with 20KB (???) and is estimated to cost around $499 bux! The more expensive is supposed to come with 60KB (???) of memory and is estimated to cost around $599!!!

Now, myself, I don't think I will be getting either one anytime soon. Also, I think that those prices are getting a little ridiculous. Some people may not think so, but to me, Gaming shouldn't have to be an investment like that. It also appears, that the controllers for the PS3 will be wireless, which means no more tangled cords. (I was also thinking, they said something about the games possibly being a little higher, but, who knows, maybe not.)

Granted, I definately won't switch to another system. I'm not fond of the XBox or XBox 360, nor do I plan on getting the new Nintendo system the Wii (The controller looks just plain weird!). I am strictly a Sony girl, but, Until the prices drop, I don't think I will be getting a PS3. I mean sure the graphics look a heck of alot better than they do on the PS2, plus, things look alot smoother, but damn! drop the prices sony! Not everyone is rich! >_<

Anyway, what I am wondering, is if YOU the gamer would be willing to pay that much, or, do you think that the price/s are way to high? I just figured this would make a great discussion. I am interested in what you, as gamers think of the prices of this system.

I suppose I should say too, that I am not bashing Sony or the Playstation Systems. This is all an opinion on the price range. I'm not good when it comes to talking about system specs and all of that ^^()

Of course, The orignal VP got a re-release, but only on the Sony PSP. But, it is the ORIGINAL that started it all that is so hard to come by now days. Anyway....

In this second installment, we are taken back to the land of Norse Mythology; Valkyries, Einheirijar (ap?), Gods, Goddesses and the like. This time however, the game is pretty much a prequel to Lenneth, but, has its own original storyline and characters. (well, a few of the older characters return, such as; Arngrim, Lezard Valeth and a couple of others.) So, there is no need to play "Lenneth" (as I will refer to the orignal title from here on out) in order to understand the storyline.

As VP2 Starts out, Princess Alicia is being hunted by the current Valkyrie; Hrist. Under orders from Odin, Hrist is to bring Silmeria back to the land of the gods, Valhalla. The reason for this, is because, Silmeria defied the Lord Odin and as punishment, sent Silmeria down to earth to be reincarnated there. Unfortunately the ritual that was performed to send her soul to earth (Midgard) was incomplete and instead of being reborn as Princess Alicia, her soul instead, became trapped within Alicia. And, as Alicia grew, so did Silmeria's power and eventually the two could carry on conversations. However, as Alicia got older, The king thought his daughter was falling in to madness and thus banished her to a remote castle and pronounced her dead.

THIS is where the opening cinema takes place. The Einheirijar within Alicia/Silmeria as well as the battle maiden herself, are trying to guide Alicia away from the dismal palace. unfortunately, Hrist catches up and unleashes an attack which lands right next to Alicia. It is in this instant, that Silmeria takes over and takes Hrist's attack and throws it back at her, causing a great explosion. Eventually, Alicia escapes and thus hers as well as Silmeria's quest begins.

The gameplay is pretty much like the original. However, there are a few new things that have been added. Some of the new items are; You can split your party up into two groups, that way you can take a more tactical approach to defeating your enemy, The Photon (?) system in which you fire shots that turn into yellow crystals. When, crystalizing an enemy, you can shoot the crystal again and trade spots with the monster/enemies. This way, it makes it MUCH easier to reach higher or almost impossible spaces. Instead of your party, as well as your enemies staying stationary, You can now run to the enemies to get into range, but as you move, so do the enemies. The enemies also have an attack range. (Glowing red squares that pulsate as the enemy gets ready to attack) another thing, to escape from battle, you must run to a designated spot and then decide weather you want to continue to flee or not.

Other things include: Special attacks can only be used if you have a weapon equiped that will allow you to execute it, You can kill the Leader first and go for a direct assault, which will net you more crystals as well as some prizes from battle. instead of Materialize points you have a currency called Oth.

It should also be noted, that unlike "Lenneth", memory camps are no longer used as shops or transfer points. Shops are now accessable in the towns that you visit. Also, scattered throughout, are spheres that give you new information. For instance, I just came upon a sphere that told me about special attacks. These spheres as far as I could tell, stay there and don't disappear.

I guess, that my biggest gripe, would have to be how you acquire your characters. Unlike in "Lenneth", where you got a chance to experience how you got the allies, In VP2 you only get them when you come upon a glowing, blue weapon or item that is just lying around. So, in terms of Character Development, VP2 is lacking in that department. But, what it lacks in character development, it certainly makes up for it in gameplay and storyline.

One other thing too, the bosses and enemies seem to be ALOT more tougher in this installment than they did in "Lenneth". Whereas in the original, you had three difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard) and in this installment you have only one difficulty, but, each time you beat the game, the game also continues to get harder and harder!

Once again the powerful and deadly Seraphic Gate is present as a bonus dungeon. I personally never got to this area in the original game. awhile back, I had heard of Disgaea but, never got it. I figured that it looked like a boring game, and wouldn't interest me in the least! However, whenever I went over to Gamestop to pick up Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria, The guy at the counter asked me if I had ever played the original Disgaea. I told him no and he looked at me and said something along the lines of, "Well, if you have played final Fantasy Tactics, then more than likely you will like this game. Plus, If you like the Anime style and humor you will definately like it.

So, After reading reviews and what not on it, I found that I was becoming intrigued by this game and eventually took over some dvds that I no longer watch and traded them in for this game.

I got home and popped it in and lo and behold, I LOVE it! My favorite character is definately Adell! LOL He is so cool, funny and honest, but, he seems to be hiding a secret. Could it be that he too is a prisoner of the curse that turned everyone in to demons?

To be honest, I don't know yet ^^() LOL! I am only like in the third chapter, but I will say I like the opening sequence as well as the hilarious anime preview (which is surprisingly pretty lengthy!)

Anyway, as I get more in to this game, I will be back to share my thoughts, Until then, take care!

Just yesterday I went to the mall and Best Buy. At Best Buy I purchased the three disc complete collection of Jing King of Bandits and also picked up a flick that came out in like 1984 or somewhere in there, called LEGEND starring a very young Tom Cruise.

Then over at the mall I went into Barnes and Noble and purchased the FMA Profiles book and have yet to start reading it and also got the final book in the Bartimaeus Trilogy called Ptolomy's Gate.

Granted, the book series is for a younger audience, but I feel in love with the story style, and humor of the main Djinni, Bartimaeus.

Its a good filler while I am waiting for the final Harry Potter book to come out. Unfortunately I have yet to hear what the final books title is going to be and when its going to be released!

I do know that HP & the Order of the Phoenix comes to theaters I think next fall, but I am uncertain.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing good and to those who visit my page here, I hope to get more art up and going within the next month or two. I am looking into getting a scanner, but until then, I will continue to draw and hopefully I will come up with some good results.

Until then, I will be posting game reviews, Fanfiction and what I currently have as my desktop wp.

Maybe my car is telling me something like..."Get a new car I'm too old for you!" LOL! To be honest if my car talked, I'd probably take a baseball bat to it.

Anyway, I wasn't even able to go and get VP: Silmeria yet. I HOPE to be able to get over there today to get it. But, I'll just have to wait and see.

Later on this evening I should have a review of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- up. I also hope to post some more of my Fanfiction. Until I get a scanner, my fanart will have to be on hold.

I feel bad, that I haven't been able to fix the errors in my fanfiction yet. I have been really busy with work, so, once I get time, I will reread the chapters I have up and try to edit them.

When I went to the gas station to get some Anti-freeze for my car, I noticed it making a strange and almost unbearable noise under the hood. When I lifted it up, I realized that the noise was pretty bad. Some guys came out of the gas station and asked if I was having trouble, and I said yes. They wanted to know what was wrong and I told them. They then asked me to turn on my car and almost as soon as I did, they wanted me to shut it off immediatly. Several of them said that it was the waterpump going out on my car.

Then, the worst thing happened....it FINALLY WENT OUT!!! *stomps around and steams like Edward Elric when someone calls him shorty* So, eventually I got ahold of someone, and instead of towing the car, they literally bumped it all the way to where they came from! no tow cable or nothing! just bumped the car with it in Neutral....I wasn't very happy about that....then they are wanting to charge me over 200 bux to get it fixed!!!! Oh was I !#$@&(* Mad!!! LOL!!!

Anyway, my plans are on hold until my car can be fixed. I just hope that it can get fixed before I have to go back to work on Thursday.

So far I have found out, that the story takes place somewhere between DMC 1 & DMC 2. Not many true details have been released other than a new character is introduced to the series. His name, is Nero and he could ALMOST be a double of Dante when first seen. He also uses guns, though not the same style of Dante's, Nero's looks to be something like revolvers. He also uses a sword, which he customized himself.

Not much is known about the Nero character, however, I did read in the article that Nero is a part of an organization/cult who worships Sparda...Sound familiar? yep! thats Dante and Virgil's father! It is also revealed in the article that Nero is after Dante for some reason or another and is trying to kill him. But, eventually it looks like Dante may or may not be a playable character. However, it did say in the magazine that this is the first time, that Dante will NOT be the starring character.

Nero also seems to have a demon possessed arm that can reach twice as far as he can. Though, as far as I know, not many details have been released about this either. And there is one other thing, that I can can remember from the article and that is a mysterious woman whom we (those who have kept up on the series) has seen before. It is also said that Virgil, Dante's twin brother/Nelo Angelo will also have some sort of a part in the game, though details on that are also scarce.

It can also be confusing as to the order that the games take place. down below is a guide on how this will come about:

1. Devil May Cry 3
2. Devil May Cry
3. Devil May Cry 4
4. Devil May Cry 2

So, as you can see, the games are not in chronological order. However, you don't really need to play all three of the other games in order to understand the story. each game has its own story, though out of the three that are out now, DEVIL MAY CRY II, Was by far, the worst of the three. So, unless you are a die hard DMC fan, I wouldn't suggest getting DMC2.

Unfortunatly, I won't be able to get this great looking game until the PS3 drops in price, especially, the one I am wanting to get, which, is the $499 one that has the less memory. I gurantee you that I won't be playing online games as, I am not much in to them.

Anyway, I will post updates as they become available. (image above appears to be Dante, with his gun Ebony. Though not certain as Nero looks almost exactly like him.)

So, I had to download a different browser in order to get things going and to be able to check my email and to even log on to here!

I tell ya, its been crazy trying to figure all of this out and not only that, I have been working an awful lot lately as well as doing some split shifts. (In case your wondering, I work for McDonald's lol! Trust me, I wouldn't recomend anyone working there unless its temporary. but I guess i shouldn't talk huh? lol!)

WOW!! After 53 hours of playing Xenosaga III, I have finally defeated the game! While playing through this awsome finale, You will find many questions answered, but also a few that still seem kind of puzzling.

In Xenosaga I you were basically introduced to the characters and plot, in Xenosaga II, the story went a little deeper and was aimed more towards Jr. and the Miltian Conflict. In Xenosaga III, Everything comes together nicely. Lots of secrets are revealed. For instance:

The Secret of the Zohar is revealed.

Ziggy's past is revealed.

Who is chaos exactly and why is it he has such mysterious powers?

What is the mystery behind the Blue-Eyed version of KOS-MOS?

What is the TRUE purpose of the Ormus organization.

Who and what are the Testaments?

What is the Compass of Chaos and Order?

Who is Wilhelm and what is it he seeks?

Who and What is T-elos (the T-Weapon)?

Plus there will be things that may not seem to be answered fully and completely. I really enjoyed this game and found that the ending was one of the sadest that I have yet seen in an RPG. The final Cinematic sequences are amazing and yet, are sad to watch.

The ending also left the impression that there could possibly be more to come. However, i read somewhere, that the story of Shion and her friends are done with. so, it could be possible that another version of the saga will come out. we will just have to wait and see.

So, down below, is my extensive review on this great game and Finale of this Saga. And so, as always, my review will start with the characters who are playable in the game.

Characters

Shion Uzuki:
Shion is a former Vector employee, who after the events in episode II decided to quit her job and join Scientia. An underground movement who is against the U.M.N network. Shion has also learned, that her father, might have played a part with the U-Tic organization, and so, with Scientia's resources she sets out to look into the Gnosis Terrorism as well as the secrets of her past and Vector.

chaos:
chaos is a strange young man, who doesn't like to reveal much about his past and he prefers it that way. Once a member of the Elsa's crew, chaos joined Shion and her friends on their quest to uncover the secrets of the Gnosis.

His most distinquishing features are his transparent blue eyes, silver hair and his philisophical way of speech, giving him the impression that he hails from a much higher dimension than our own.

KOS-MOS:
KOS-MOS is a blue-haired, Red-eyed Female battle android designed to combat the Gnosis and is also the name of her entire system; Kosmos Obey Strategical Multiple Operations System. She was originally designed by Shion's boyfriend, Kevin Winnicott.

However, KOS-MOS has been acting strangely ever since she activated on the Woglinde on her own. Sometimes, she appears to have emotions that are not unlike a humans. She also has another secret. At times "another" KOS-MOS comes forth. The difference between the "Real" KOS-MOS and the other, is that the "other" KOS-MOS has Blue-Eyes.

It should also be mentioned that KOS-MOS has many secrets that have yet to be revealed. However, her main programming seems to be to protect Shion and her friends.

Jin Uzuki:
Shion's older brother and a friend of chaos. Jin was once a federation soldier under the command of Margulis and was also the lover of Pelligrie.

Jin first became involved with chaos and Canaan during the Miltian Conflict fifteen years earlier. Although he tries his hardest, he can't seem to come to terms with Shion. As Shion blames her own brother for the death of her parents and the saddness she has suffered for so long.

Jin is also a sword specialist. He can slice almost anything in two, including A.M.W.S units.

Ziggy:
Ziggy was once called Jan Saurer and was a Galaxy Federation Police Officer. after the death of his wife and son at the hands of a U.M.N Terriorist called Voyager, Jan commited suicide and due to the Life Recyclying act was brought back to life and transformed into a combat cyborg. He met Shion and the others, while fleeing from U-Tic forces and rescuing MOMO.

I think this has been the longest feeling month by far! even though we are already on the the second or third week of September, it sure feels like its a lot farther along than that. after all, I just finished up a 9 days straight of work!

Whew! Of course I guess now I get the hours I want with no problems! =^-^= after all, I am saving up to go to the Mall of America and visit a friend in March. She lives up in Minnisota (SP?)

She tells me there is an anime convention there sometime in March. so I am trying to save up the money so I can travel there and go to it. I've never been to a convention, but I hear they are something, if you can ever get to one. So, I hope everything goes as planned and I can get to go! I think it will be awsome.

There is also the question of the PS3 which will be coming out soon too! when I went to pick up Xenosaga III: Also Sprach Zarathustra, I asked when it was coming out and they said November! I started freaking out! LOL! it can't come out yet!

Though this may not sit well with some game players, I find the storyline deep and intriging. With many colorful and scary characters to fill a cookie jar! Down below is what I can remember as far as Xenosaga III's storyline for now. I will say, that there will be spoilers within this and if you do not wish some plot elements to be spoiled then please don't read on.

anyway,after my review, you will find the storyline thus far. I am missing several things and will give an update on that later...anyway, on to the first impressions.

The title screen shows NEW GAME, LOAD, or DATA. New game allows you to start a new game, Load allows you to load the game and Data, allows you to view things pertaining to characters, etc. However, the Data half is useless until you beat the game the first time.

Once you start a new game, you are taken through a prologue. The prologue isn't that long and consists of an infiltration to Vector industries, mainframe (I think). It is here that you get your first taste of battle.

Although the battle system has been redone, it still seems to be lacking in one aspect or another. In Xenosaga I, you could do three specific attacks in a row and then a tech to finish it off. In Xenosaga II you could attack, but it wasn't anything flashy and for special attacks (techs) you had to have a second character who executed the attack with you. In Xenosaga III, there is nothing fancy. All you do is one attack. You then have a choice however of Tech, Ether, Special Attack, Item, Guard, Escape (when not in a boss encounter.)

Special Attacks are activated by using the boost gauge at the top right of the screen. Almost all special attacks use at least 2 stocks from the boost gauge. However, that is a small price to pay for a nice hefty attack. But then again it kind of sucks, because then you can't boost your characters to go before the boss a lot of times. I think what they should have done, was have a guage specifically for the special attacks. then that way, you would have to use your boost stock. So I guess in a way it could sort of have been like Final Fantasy VII's Limit Break system.

Another good thing too is, character specific skills and attacks are back. So, no more having them learn almost every spell of the same thing.

Also, there is another new addition; the Break Gauge. The break gauge is somewhat of a double-edged sword. (most enemies have one too) . When you are attacked, the break gauge begins to fill (its the same with enemies too) If the break gauge becomes full, your characters are unable to act for at least two turns or whenever they can move again. It should also be noted that the Critical hit rate becomes much higher when in this state. You can prevent your characters from hitting the break mark by using Ethers that cure Break Limit.

Returning in this installment are the E.S. The E.S's in this game have a much larger role than they did in the first two games. and to be honest I actually enjoy the E.S. battles in this game alot more then the other two titles. Granted all you basically have to do is either shoot/attack the enemy or use your Vessel of Anima to take out the enemy.

Also making a return to the series is the Database system. Database system lets you see every single thing that has either been mentioned or seen in the Xenosaga series. From Abel's Ark to Zohar, From weapons to Tutorials, Characters and Organizations, its all there! though there are updates that you can acquire either on your own or by finding them in certain locations.

Also back is the Segment addresses. Since those seem to be a signature quest to the series they remain. Another thing that also returns is the Erde Kaiser. In the first game you had to go around and look for the parts to this robot that was Exclusivily for Shion's use and to be honest I don't remember how it was used in Xenosaga II.

But, in Xenosaga III the Erde Kaiser is back and becomes an ether that all characters can use! all in all there are 4 Erde Kaisers to collect! They are:

Erde Kaiser Erde Kaiser Fury Dark Erde Kaiser Erde Kaiser SigmaIn order to get Erde Kaiser and Erde Kaiser Fury, you must undergo the Segement Address quest and find them. I found out, that the key to winning against the boss battles in this particular title is to rely on your Limit Breaker items that are strung throughout the game. You can either gain them from enemies killed or you can find them in certain parts of a level. So, its best not to use this item until you come into a boss confrontation.

I think the toughest boss fight I had to endure, was a bunch of snipers and an enemy who used a rocket launcher. Every few seconds that enemis rocket would hit me, nearly depleating my HP!! Eventually I turned into Galian Beast and waylayed him! lol.

I belive that right now I am on the SHERA, Cid Highwind's ship that he named after his wife, Shera! (she was the engineer who refused to leave in the rocket and Cid had to abort his mission. It takes place in a flash back in FFVII) I am about to start the final assaults. Cloud, Tifa, Barret and the ground assault have already started on their missions. (sadly you don't get to control any of them. just the wacky Cait Sith in a strange mission where you have to sneak by Deepground Soldiers and see what they are up to in Midgar. The missions title is Solid Cait!! lol! too reminescent of the name Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series! heh)

It is revealed that they are trying to awaken Omega Weapon. Omega Weapon is only supposed to be awakened when the planet is on its last legs. However, Deepground and the Tsviets (Sp?) are trying to awaken it early by sacrificing thousands of people and trying to make Omega think that the world is on the brink of destruction.

It is also revealed that Vincent is indeed the carrier of the Protomateria that they have been searching for. Rosso the Crimson steals it from him. (its embedded into Vincent's chest.) and allows him to control his OTHER form, Chaos. Without the materia, he cannot control Chaos' power. Luckily, Vincent is able to heal himself and he awakens weak and sore. He finds out that he has been saved, by none other than Yuffie Kisaragi who is calling her self the "Single White Rose of Wutai" figure that one out? (she even retains her personality and her dislike of being in flying aircraft!)

So far I now give the game a 6.5/10. I belive that a gaming magazine also gave this game the final score of the same number. (game informer I think). They say the Replay Value is Moderate. Well, I think I'll be replaying it more than a Moderate amount.

Granted, the selection of enemies is somewhat lame and generic looking, but to me, it can allow you to learn how become and accurate marksmen within the game. Sure, alot of times, the enemies are all far away and its difficult to hit them at all, but to me, it can be a bit of a challenge. Also, other soldiers and beasts can be alerted to your presence should you fire and they are near. The will definately come running at you and sometimes the soldiers and beasts pop out when you least expect them too.

So, once I have beaten this game, I will come back yet again with a final review of this semi-great game. (actually I'm boring you all aren't I? heh!) Until then take care everyone!

Long ago, Majeh, was once a great swordsman in life, be eventually became the Envoy of the Dead in the afterlife. He is constantly bossed around by a man simply known as The King of Hell. later on as the story progresses, It is discovered that Majeh is actually a LEGENDARY swordsman who escaped from a different realm, where only the fiercest warriors were. As a matter of fact, he killed all of them in the process just to escape!

At some point, Majeh's powers are considered to potent and a spell is placed on him to restrain his abilities. because of this, Majeh is reverted to the form of a young teenage boy. While doing things for the King of Hell, Majeh is spied on by a man dressed as a Ninja. Eventually Majeh catches on and captures this...uh...strange man and forces him to spill the beans. The Ninja guy acknowledges that it was the King of Hell who put him up to spying on him. Majeh then tells the strange guy that he will now become his servant, that is unless he wants to die. Reluctantly the ninja agrees (can't remember the guys name! lol!) But, first things first, he must stop some kind of disturbance that is releasing dangerous creatures, or face the King of Hell's wrath! So, Majeh has no choice but to carry out these orders.

It is also revealed that Majeh is not only a handy dandy swordsman, but he is also mysterious and has a strange and uh...rather unique sense of humor and after some time and discovers what had happend with the disturbance, he returns to Hell only to be sent out again. However, Majeh refuses. He has no desire to return to the mortal world of humans. Majeh's actual task was to capture the ruthless entities and arrest them.

Eventually Majeh is tricked back into his old preserved body. However, once in his body, a surprise awaits him and his powers are thus supressed once again and he reverts to his teenaged body! Majeh isn't happy about this, but he has no choice, but to carry out his orders now.

Along on his journey, Majeh meets a young boy by Chung Poong and a beautiful woman warrior who uses poisoned needles, and her name is Dhowa. While on their Journey, they enter a martial arts tournament. After countless battles, Majeh is up against the one true demon he sensed before. Soon, the pendant that subdued his power becomes weakened and a Majeh of full and absolute power emerges! The outcome of the fight is a no brainer.

This series is actually pretty good. I would say if your a fan of DBZ and strange humor then this manwha series is for you! The artwork is absolutely wonderful and the fight scenes are amazing! I find myself being a HUGE fan of Majeh! To be honest, I am surprised I haven't heard of this being made into an animated show.

But, As of right now, I only have like 4 or 5 volumes of the Manhwa (manga). So, I am really behind! ^^ the last volume I read, was where Majeh was fighting the demon and Majeh was thought to have been killed, but of course, his seal is broken and the fight continues.

When it got to the game play portion, It was a nightmare! sure the gameplay is awsome and everything, but what really ticked me off, is how you have to aim and shoot your variety of guns. Using the R1 button, you aim and shoot your guns to try and take down the enemy. There isn't even an automatic lock on feature, so you have to constantly reaim your gun, which can be a tad frustrating. you can also switch between your three customized guns by using the L2 button.

Unlike in the Metal Gear Solid series, in which your trigger button is I think the square button and your aim button is the analong stick in both first person view and normal view. But, I suppose I shouldn't compare the two, since one is made by Konami and Hideo Kojima and the other one is made by Square-Enix, so I suppose the differences can't be helped. But still, the Metal Gear Solid method of aiming and shooting your firearms is still much better balanced than it is with "Dirge".

The controls could have been a little better as far as aiming your guns goes. as for the rest of the game, not bad, it presents a challenge. Espeically when it comes to some enemies. The game also only has two modes when starting out. Normal and Hard (isn't sure if its hard or extrahard) You would think, that they would have had an easy mode stuck in there too for beginners. But, they do have a tutorial which can help you out as well.

In the tutorial you partake in what is called a "Turks Tactical Training Facility" In this little tutorial you take on the role of a young Vincent, when he was with the Turks and try to master the levels as you go. Each level has its own training program and once you master that program, you can go back and try again or if you have gotten farther, you can go to your last program and start there. The only catch, is that you CAN be killed off in the simulation, so becareful.

There is also a ranking system that appears after a stage is complete. Pretty much reminiscent of the Devil May Cry series of games. there are various fields in which you will be graded. I can't name them all off the top of my head, so I will just tell you a few of what I can remember; Item use, Materia, Limit Breaker, Accuracy, etc. Once your rankings have been shown for each individual item, you will then be given an overall rating, which is also similar to DMC. It should also be noted that you can trade your EXP for GIL if you are short on cash and need it to upgrade weapons or buy items. (upgrading will be talked about in a bit)

As for the Limit Breaker that I mentioned up above in the ratings, You can only get the item when enemies drop them, so, you must treat them with extreme care and use them only when you have to! The Limit Breaker items are a rare find. however, I read that once you unlock the Extreme mode, you should be able to purchase the Limit Breaker item. There are also up-sides and down-sides to using these items. The upside is, that you can transform Vincent into his Galian Beast form and perform strong physical attacks as well as scattering a volley of flames at the enemy. It is also good to use this item when you have to, because it completely replenishes Vincent's life bar! The down side to this item, is that you only have a certain amount of time to use it, before Vincent changes back. you can also cancel the transformation yourselve by pushing (its either) the L1 & R1 buttons or the opposit, L2 & R2...(heh! can't remember! now thats bad!)

It should also be noted, that Vincent can ONLY transform into Galian Beast in the early stages of the game. He won't be able to turn into Chaos until the end of the game. So I suppose to be honest you only have one limit break transformation throughout, until the final showdown.

Now your probably wondering about the menu screens. The menu is actually pretty easy to navigate. On the main screen you have: Start Game, Tutorial and Extras. Start Game of course lets you begin the game. Tutorial allows you to access the TTT system and extras allows you to listen to game music, view characters, view artwork, events and even access extra missions! so, you do have quite a few extra things to do once you beat the game.

In order to get the Extras. You must shoot different things throught the game that are otherwise inaccessable. The items are hidden in unlikely places and places you can see just fine. The items are multicolored or in capsule form and unlock different things, depending on which ones you shoot.
