So, the craft fair went well. I made some sales, as did my brother. Of course, I was on my feet for 6 hours in high-heeled boots (yes, I knew better, but I'm short, and I wanted to be able to see over my display ). The best part, though? The smell of crafts, and the sound of Christmas music!!!!! Christmas craft fairs make me so ridiculously happy.

And now I'm exhausted. LOL

Anyways, I have a busy week ahead, but mostly doing fun Christmas-prep stuff. And Christmas gifts to make...

Hopefully, if I have a few minutes and I remember, I have two knaves from the card-suit Queens series finished. Must scan and post them!

So now, I have six days left until the craft show I'm doing, and just a few things left on my to-do list for that. Still, any extra time this week should go into making necklaces and bracelets, as I have over 50 pairs of earrings, and less than 10 each of necklaces and bracelets.
I thought I'd be feeling nervous, as it's been 5 years or so since I last did a show, but I'm really looking forward to it, especially hanging out with my brother, who'll be selling his cd at our booth. He's arriving on Friday, and we'll be watching horror movies that night, as it's the 13th, and I wasn't there for his Halloween get together.

I've scanned the thumbnails of the deviations I have to go through, and while I'm itching to see them all close-up, I want to wait until I have time to properly comment and fave. So after the craft show, while I'm taking breaks from Christmas stuff.
I also started a blog as an online gallery and updater of my jewelry (I didn't want to open yet another DA account I never have time to maintain), and I photographed most of my stock (I'll be playing a slideshow in a digital frame on the table at my booth), so there'll be lots of pics and stories, hopefully updated regularily! Okay! Off to print business cards and labels, and put the hinges on my display!

I want to rename my 'company', so that if I open an etsy shop, or sell online, it's easier to search, and also I'd like something that's not specifically jewelry, or too feminine, in case I decide to branch out.
I kinda need to think on this fast, since I need to print new labels, etc. And I've already been thinking on it for awhile.
On the good side, getting ready for this will take my mind off of joining etsy for awhile. I have a few questions about it, and I've been scouring the forums there for awhile. Research, ya know.
Also, my brother will be sharing a booth with me, selling copies of his CD at the show. And we always seem to have fun hanging out together, and inspiring/bouncing ideas off eachother.
Aside from that, I'm going to have to start working on Christmas soon, too. This year, I've promised not to stress so much about it.
And before that, I have to make Halloween cookies! And I'm going to see Metallica the first weekend of November.
So yeah, I'll be off and on. But I'm pretty sure I won't neglect DA as much as I did from March 'til last month.

Drawing-wise, I'll be working on the Kings and Knaves from my Card Queens series, though who knows how long it'll take, since I'm itching to do some new Jem art, and maybe a little SheRa (don't count on it though, my drawing time has been mostly taken over by my jewelry and crafting time lol).

I am, however, going to be making time for the tablet I got last Christmas, since I've barely had the chance to play with it.

Which brings me to my next announcement: I'm doing a bit of a gallery clean-up, getting rid of some older, horrid works. This ties in with my tablet because...instead of deleting my four "Belles of the Yule Ball" pieces (which, by the way, are my most faved works), I have decided (and started) to redo them digitaly. It'll be the same designs and essentially the same drawings, just hopefully better.
See, everytime I got another fave on the Yule Ball pics, I felt guilty. Looking at them, the designs are really nice, and the characters are of course very popular, but I always felt like the drawings were rushed, and rather horrible. I think people have faved the concept, but not necessarily the work. So, I'm gonna try my best to redo them and make them worthy of so many faves!

Another question! (If you're still reading at this point). I'm thinking of selling my jewelry on Etsy eventually. But I don't have a credit card, and you need one to have a shop...can I use someone else's? (With their permission, of course!) Also, any words of advice, tips on what to do about shipping, etc., and anything else in general?
Then I have to think of what I want to call my shop, since I'm wanting to rename my jewelry "company" to something that'll reflect all the eclectic things I do, but that's also easily searched for on the 'net.

Jeepers, I'm talkative today! I'll just go now lol. Hope everyone's been having a great weekend!!

Lots has been happening, mostly me trying to work through things, and work out things in my life.
I am definitely going to keep this account (thanks to my friends here on DA who gave me great words of wisdom!), but I may close my jewelry account, and post the jewelry here. That's mostly because I'm thinking of changing the name of the jewelry 'company', but I'm not sure.
I'm thinking about opening a shop on etsy for the jewelry, but I have a ton of research to do before I'll be comfy with that.
I did, in the last few days, actually draw some things for the first time in ages, which I'm hoping to scan and post soon.
I guess while I won't be on here much (as I haven't been really since March), I just wanted to let you guys know I'm not totally disappearing, and that I miss you all!

So, first of all, thank you to everyone who's faved my work in the last few months. I'm thanking you here, because I don't think I'll be able to visit individual pages to thank everyone personally, as much as I'd hoped to be able to. I still have art all the way back from March to comment on!
Which brings me to the dilemma. I'm caught between two choices here. I really don't have the time to put into DA that I once did, and I don't think I will have much time in the future, either. I'm a bit busy at the moment trying to get my life back, and getting help for my panic disorder so that I can go out and do the things I once did. That, and I want to work on perhaps making something of my jewelry, but the moment I go into 'business', my free time will be sucked out of me, because business does that lol. Especially since my computer is slower than...well, think of something really slow, and compare it to that. It's not a virus or anything, I think it's just about time to upgrade, but sadly, that's not in the budget lol.
So, my one option is to remove my account, and all my stuff on it, and say goodbye to DA, and the awesome friends I've made here. Or, I could leave everything on, keep the account, but when I do sign in, I might not be able to comment on things much, since the messages accumulate, and I get stressed. At least this way, I'll have the option to post if I draw something. And I have no idea what I'll do about my jewelry account. If I do decide to sell online, I might get rid of that DA account, simply because I don't have the patience to post on multiple places, and I have my jewelry blog to think of, too. Argh! What to do....
I hope this journal made sense, because I think I may have been rambling again.
Anyways, I completed a successful sewing project from a pattern (and I suck with instructions lol), so now I have a new top to wear to a party we're having next weekend! Ahh, summer!

Just popping in to say hi, and hope you're all doing well! (And happy May 24 weekend, fellow Canucks!)(And happy belated Mother's Day to all the moms!)
Dad left for his annual fishing trip with his brothers this past Monday (my b-day, incidentally), so mom and I have been running like crazy all week spring cleaning, and getting my fabled art room almost ready to move into! (After over a year lol). Primer went on the walls yesterday, and is a little tacky right now, but we also want to clean out the front porch and the kitchen cupboards today. Woo! It's been fun and relaxed, though. And once the art room's done, I can move all my stuff in there, including the new bits and bobs I got, including a beading loom (can't wait to try that out!!)
So aside from the bit of a paint headache, tings are pretty good here, but I can't say when I'll be back regularily. Though I'm itching to comment on some of the artwork in my deviations box over the last couple of months, so I might have to set aside an hour a night to get through it.
Okay! Well, I'll check in again soon, I think I'd better finish this coffee then get cleaning!

So I'll be sporadic for awhile, as I have some things I want to post and some things I want to check in on, but I'll continue to be more off than on for awhile.
When I do have some time to spend, I'll be going through my gallery to do a clean-up (I've been here almost 3 years and some things are laughable and must go), plus I'm going to watermark possibly everything, as well as everything new.
Big thanks to for the heads up about my Jem artwork being posted by someone without my permission. If you are a Jem artist, you should read *Amjara 's latest journal, as it provides a link to a site by said art thief that may have your art on it.
That's the biggest reason I'll be watermarking my art. I do it with most of my jewelry photos on my other account, and then I only did it on a whim, but now that I've encountered art theft, I'm taking watermarking more seriously.
The funny irony is that the latest artwork I have to scan and post eventually, is of Danse from Jem and the Holograms...the first Jem-related artwork I've done in quite a long time.
Stay tuned, I will get it posted as soon as I can!

That being said, I'd originally thought I had messages going from the end of December to reply to. In fact, they go as far back as November. So I hope I'm not offending anyone by saying one big collective THANK YOU for all faves and collections. I just need to concentrate on getting through the hundreds of deviations, and I'm sure you'd rather me look at your art than send a 'thanks for the fave' to your front page. 'Coz it stresses me to look at how many I'd have to do, and I feel bad that alot of those are from people that don't watch me and probably won't see this. But I've got alot going on in real life, which has also been put on hold by my being sick.

Anyways! If you celebrate Valentine's Day, have a happy one! Even though I'm single (again, when will THAT end???), I love it -- hello, PINK, hearts, candy!!! I got a sweet card from my nephew today that says "We're Best Friends" It's a Disney's Cars Valentine. That is the best thing ever! Lol, I got a beautiful box of chocolates from my parents, too, but I can't even think about eating them right now. *gag* lol. I can't wait 'til I feel up to it, though! And I have to give everyone the cookies I made and packaged all nicely! Lol, I sound so much more alive and enthused than I feel.

I also had quite a few projects/gifts that had me swamped (and stressed) last month, but most of that is done, and I'm a bit more relaxed, meaning the art and crafts that I'm working on are more enjoyable now rather than the stressful chore they seemed to be last month. <-- Wow, what a run-on sentence! I'm working on beaded flowers to attatch to hair combs, and so far they look quite pretty, but they'll be posted on my jewelry/accessory account when finished.

I have a couple of things I'm working on for my brother's b'day next week. One is almost done, the other won't take long. Then, next month is my dad's b'day, and I have something in mind for that, too. Also, this week, I have to bake my cookies for Valentine's day! Since my sugar-cookie hearts were well-loved last year, I'm going to do shortbread shaped with my small gingerbread cutter, and put icing hearts on their chests. (Hope that made sense). And, of course, half the batch will be chocolate shortbread, because, like me, my nephew is a chocolate fiend.
Also, I'll be baking and decorating the cake for my brother's b'day next week, but I can't describe what I'm gonna do, as he is ~suave777 , and could see this journal!

Anyways, I just thought I'd let everyone know why I'm not around, and I'm not going to sit and go through stuff now, I just happened to have a few minutes here where I can breathe AND my throat isn't so dry! Also, I'm awake, and I don't feel like my neck can't hold up my head. lol Aw, being sick. I'm glad I only get it once a year...on rare occasions, I'll get a dreaded summer cold as well, but I hope that's not this year!!!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday, and a happy, fun New Year. Mine were...well, there's always next year. Nothing horrible, but nothing magical or exciting. Though I did manage to sleep alot. Meh, that's what holidays are for, right? ('Cept I usually use holidays as time to waste by gaming...and I didn't do much of that )

I did, however, get a tablet!!! Woohooo! So, you'll be thinking I'll be posting tons of digital art. You'd be wrong. I will post some eventually (I'm starting by coloring some older scanned lineart, though I've had fun doodling and sketching), but I don't have alot of time to devote to it yet.

I have a few Christmas gifts to make still lol. They're for friends I knew I wasn't going to see until the New Year. Since I didn't want to stress before the holidays, I decided to make them after. I'm also working on a jewelry trade, but that's going my other account, since it's through there.

There's other crap going on, nothing real bad, I just have lots to do, and stuff to sort out with myself.

I just wanted to let everyone know I'm back, and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves in the last month! And that it may take me awhile to sort through all my deviations - plus some got accidentally deleted, and I have no idea how - but I'll get through everything I've missed in the last month or so, whether I comment or not!

Seriously, though, I've been toying with the idea of getting a PayPal account (for selling more than buying), and have been researching it since early Fall. I even spent hours today combing through journals here on DA to get artist/crafter's perspectives. (I love the search tool )
However, I still have questions (even after spending a few more hours reading almost every single thing on PayPal.com). Since I'm pretty sure some of my friends here on DA use PayPal to receive money for commissions and things, I was hoping someone could answer at least a couple of these...

What kind of account do you you have through them? Can you sell with a personal account, or does it have to be business or premier. (I'm looking at the premier account, but I have no idea)

I read on here that to withdraw funds from your paypal into your bank account, you have to be a verified member, and that you must have a credit card for that. But then I also read that you are a verified member as long as you have a valid bank account number. Please tell me the second one is true...I have no credit card, as that would be a disaster

Ok, so I guess I really only had the two questions...after practically one whole day devoted to researching. Still, I don't like to jump into something without knowing every little thing, especially when it concerns finances.

So, if you can answer those, or if you have some advice, or even something to ease my mind about it, that would be so awesome. I know there are good and bad things about it, but hearing your experiences with it really would help. *See, now I'm all pleading, and brain-fried from so many consecutive hours in front of this crazy computer...time to go!*

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!

I just wanted to say that I probably won't be posting much art-wise for awhile. (I left you with a few things yesterday though).
The reason is simply that I have a ton of things to do for Christmas...most of which are fun, like baking! But I'm also making gifts again this year, and that takes up alot of time. I will post some of them after the holiday.
That, plus the fact that I want to upload some more jewelry on my other account, and update my blog (I made paper, and I have pix of some of it, plus the process that I'm hoping to upload tomorrow on there.) Oh, and I'm trying to get started on a website for my jewelry. SO...if you don't hear from me for awhile, it's not that I'm ignoring anyone, I'm just busy. But I'll pop in here and there of course. And if I do get the chance to do some 'just for fun' artwork, I'll put it up!

I'm sure I'll manage to sneak another journal in here before Christmas, so until then, I hope everyone's having a great week...it's almost over now!

So I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the support over the two years that I've been here. I've met so many awesome people, and have been inspired by so many of you!

So...Chirstmas is coming, and what's a broke crafter to do? Make gifts, of course!
So! I may not get much computer time in the next month or so. There's gift-making, baking, and decorating to do!
Mom will be home for 3 weeks staring Friday, which helps me and dad relax and splits the household chores 3-ways again...also, we've been getting alot of impromptu visitors, and she's better at playing host than me and dad, since we like being alone lol. (My mom's in teacher's college until April, it's 2 hours away, so she's only home on weekends, or when she has placements, by the way.)
Ok, enough babbling! Martha Stewart is on in one minute!!!
(Gawd, my friend Jeff is right, I AM a girl! )
Ok, one more thing, I just want to say I'm so proud of my brothers, Johnathan and Tony!
Johnathan is taking a management course, and the first two tests he's completed have scored in the 90s!
And Tony, who is studying Theatre Arts, has passed his stage combat course, and is now certified until 2011 in certain weapons. He can now choreograph fights scenes, (and act in them of course), etc (I don't know the terminology, I'm a visual artist ) He has the option in the future to take another course and certify in a new set of weapons!
Yay to both of my boys!

However, I just today started working on a Naruto cast poster to go on the (bare) wall over my computer. I figure a big collage of cast members from that anime will definitely brighten the place up!
But mostly I've been making beaded felt hair-clips, multi-strand necklaces with big pendants, and, of course, more puzzle piece earrings!
And, of course, as Canadian Thanksgiving is next weekend, I'm channelling my inner Martha-Stewart (she is my goddess), and making a few appetizers for the big family get-together at my grandparent's house. I'll be making my famous perogies (my polish friend taught me how to make them, and everyone raves about them, they are soooo good!), and smoked-salmon mini-turnovers, and lastly, since I wanted something light, I'm making cucumber rolls, which are basically sundried-tomato wraps, with cream cheese pread over, shaved carrot, and a quarter (lengthwise) of a cuke, rolled up, sliced, then held closed by a curly toothpick! (My own recipe lol...but I can't eat alot of heavy foods, so this is a nice lighter snack.)
Wow! I've rambled!
Well, I still don't know what's going on for Halloween, so I'm just not worrying about it yet. My brother's birthday is on the 21st, so that's more important anyway.
Also, once I'm done my poster, I'll be probably doing some lineart of who knows what, 'cause I wanna play in Photoshop, and really get serious about trying it as best I can with a mouse.
That's about it! I hope everyone else is enjoying the fall, and having fun getting ready for Halloween (or Thanksgiving, my fellow Canucks! )

Ok, it's 2:20a.m. ...so this may be weird lol.
Unfortunately I won't be able to do a request thing like I did last year's anniversary, because I've been crazy busy with my puzzle-piece (and other) jewelry. And researching on starting a website and selling online. Hence being on so late, but I think I finally found a route I want to take!
I won't be putting up any new original jewelry designs here, as I'll be opening a separate account for them (I'll post it as soon as I do, I just want to make an avatar and an ID). However, I will be putting up my next set of Naruto-themed earrings, and my Finding Nemo earrings on in just a moment. (Obviously, I can't sell those through a website or anything, as I have no rights...trust me, if I owned the Naruto universe, I'd locate and cast real-life look-alikes of Iruka, Kakashi, Neji, Shikamaru, Deidara, and Itachi, and send them to "wardrobe" for some skimpier outfits *snort* Yeah, I went there.)
Ok, the new account should be up soon, though some more personal stuff came up the other day, so we'll see what the next few weeks bring. But I'll definitely like from here to the jewelry account, and to the site once it's up!

I went to visit my grandmother for a few wonderful, relaxing days, then went full-on into the last minutes of the surprise party we had for my mom's 50th birthday last night. (The party was last night, her birthday is later in the month.)
So after all the crazy rushing around, planning, and getting things ready, it turned out to be a great night, though damp and cold, with a bit of rain (thank goodness for big tents!)
I have a pile of new puzzle-piece earrings in the works, and a few other jewelry projects on the go. Looks like I may start a site to sell online in the near future, I just have to do some more research so I can feel comfortable with this. Anyone with a website who makes sales on it have any advice for me?
Also, I've got my art room to work on, which has been going slowly, but now that the weather isn't so great (I'm so tired of rain), I'll have more time to work on that, too!

So, I may not reply fast, or comment too much on old stuff, because by the time I get to come online, I'm exhausted, so I only last a little while lol, but I am checking everything out!

Also, a couple of people noted me with requests. Unfortunately, I don't have time right now, but when I do, and I'm ready to take requests, I'll put it in a journal for sure, so watch me if you want to know when that'll be!

Some of it is Naruto fanart, and I realize that alot of people think Naruto fanart is ruining art sites 'coz there's so much of it, but I like the show and the characters, and it helps me to practice, and...I just want to. Fanart is art too, ya know. Yup.
Also, I'm throwing in some fashion designs, and some jewelry.

I was thinking about starting a new account for jewelry, as I mentioned, but I haven't done so yet, and there are olny a couple of things, so I'm putting them here.

I'm going away for a few days the week after next, to spend time with my grandmother.
I'm sure that doesn't affect my time here, as I haven't exactly been chatty, and I appologize. I am going through a few deviations each night that I can, but it's getting hard to keep up with journals, etc, too. And I may end up copping out in the end and doing a mass thank you journal for those who've faved my things...but I try not to do that, I like it to be personal. Ahh, I don't know!!!

So I probably won't post much for awhile, though I do have an entry in the works for 's contest, which I'll post, plus more Harry Potter garden rocks done.
Also, I've started watching Naruto (yes, from the very first episode), and I'm freakin' hooked. HOOKED. And I have alot to catch up on! I'd started watching it on YouTube in Japanese with the english subtitles (which I prefer), but the episodes got harder to find, or wouldn't be complete, so I found another site with all of them, though it's in english, (and things just get lost in translation, I've noticed, though it is well done, it's not the same), then again, some of the episodes were in Japanese again, so whatever, I'm hooked, I'll take either! I blame (thank, actually) ~myitachi for getting me interested in the characters, then that made me decide to watch the show.
Ok, I'm rambling. It's been a hell of a day. So, I'll be around, but not quite as active for the next while.

But it may not be that soon, so don't hold your breath, I feel like I can't get more than ten minutes to myself when I do wind down! Though I have managed to make a bit of time throughout the week to go through a some deviations here, and I think the springtime is bringing out the awesomeness n everyone, 'coz there's alot of fantastic art going around!!!
Didn't get to do any refashioning yet...I did take in a tank top, so it's more fitted now, though, and I do have another thing pinned.
I'm also working on a painting for a friend of my brother's. I'll post it once its done (It's a Dir en grey painting ) And a drawing for ~myitachi
Also, as my aunts came down for my nephew's 1st birthday party and promptly bought a pile of jewelry from me, I was thinking that any future jewelry I do, I may start a new account (I think I can do that), just for my jewelry. Just so that it's not cluttered with the million other things I do, and so that I can give people the link to that page when they want to see what kinds of things I'm making jewelry-wise. What do you think?
Well, I could go on, but my hands are cold, and I think I might read for a bit, then go to bed.

So I think I'm going to try to kiss up to the sewing machine, get it to like me, and try it out to make myself a new wardrobe. I need tank tops. Badly. Since last June, I've lost over 40 pounds, and while I got new clothes in the winter, I'mma have to take some suff in (and create new things) for the summer. Also, I have quite a bit of fabric I bought at the second hand store years ago, and my grandmother's vintage patterns (there are some cuties), so hopefully I'll actually do this!!! *need patience*
Ok, the magic part. This is probably a lame story to most people, especially when they find out I'm almost 28.
So, I love those "magical" moments that make you feel so wonderful, even if it's the smallest thing. I actually have alot of those, but no one to share them with, since the only people I know of who get excited about similar things as me are all online, and not in my "real" life. So the magical moments that involve someone else in my life are even better. Two years ago, three days before my birthday, my dad very casually gave me a copy of the 4th Harry Potter movie (I had the first 3 at the time). It was so unexpected, and I love HP, but it was the out-of-the-blue gesture that made it a magical moment. A couple of months later, my youngest brother ( ~suave777 ) bought me the collectors' pin set of that same movie, just because he saw it, and knew I'd love it. (I do love it)
So! I was going through the things I don't have room to display in my room, and found the pin set (which has its place again), and one day mentioned to my dad how much both of those gestures meant alot to me, explained how I found it magical.
Last Thursday, my mom had to take back Disney's Tarzan (which she'd rented for me while at the library), but to replace it...she and my dad gave me the 5th HP movie, which I'd seen, loved but didn't own. They'd bought it with the intent to give it to me on the 1st of May, but this timing was better lol. It really was a repeat of that magical moment 2 years ago, (which is why they wanted to give it to me early, and I really wasn't expecting it!)
I don't know why these major magical moments seem to involve Harry Potter stuff, but I'm beginning to think it is literally a magical series!

Ok, long journal, so sorry!!! I've been trying to keep up with deviations, etc, and I'm doing good so far, though the next 2 weeks are gonna be sketchy in the way of me being online. We'll see!

PS...Usually I'm cranky and antisocial, I just write like a cheery, perpetually happy person in my journal. (That's not true...completely )

I will try to get some art up soon, I've been in many different "moods" lately, drawing (or painting) mostly general fantasy people/creatures, though I've also been big on Disney, Final Fantasy 7,8, & 9, and all things Harry Potter...so who knows what I'll have to post!
Ok, must get back to going through deviations like mad, since I'm kinda motivated at the moment to do so.

I'm so sorry about my slowness to look at deviations, but you're a patient lot. Also, my apollogies to the SeiferFC, I'm a crappy co-admin, I know. Forgive me! I'd step down, it's just that when I do have the time, I don't mind doing it.

My nephew turns 1 year old on May 8th, so we'll be having a party for him! I can't wait. My birthday lands on Mother's Day this year, so it's a double celebration! So, lots going on in the coming weeks!

Ok, the point of this journal though, was to feature some of my recent faves. My sub ends in less than 10 days, so I wanted to get at least one more feature in. Here it is!

So Spring cleaning time has arrived! And so have a ton of other things lol. So, while I have done a few drawings, my artwork is mostly in my sketchbook these days, though I am working on a Dir en grey painting.
Thanks for being very patient with me while I trudge through my messages, deviations, etc, feeling guilty lol. There are so many thumbnails I can't wait to click on and fav, I'm just trying to go through a few each time I'm on, and trying to find the oldest ones first to be fair. But I'll still be not too active here for awhile. Life is happening, which is mostly a good thing!
Hopefully I'll be able to put together one or two more feature journals before my sub runs out at the end of the month, so stay tuned!

And I didn't feel guilty for not doing something productive, especially on a weekday! (Yeah, I have some odd rules for myself lol)
I'm still having some issues here on DA, mostly with the server I guess, and I know it's not my internet connection, because the other sites I'm on are fine. It's actually quite annoying...good thing I like this site so much (well, the people on it are what keep me coming back, you all know who you are.)
But meh. I managed to get through most of the messages, and a huge chunk of the deviations. Slow and steady!
Currently, I'm working on a painting, and on getting un-sick, and possibly playing video games some evenings as opposed to checking a billion messages that I'm afraid to leave for a day because I get stressed when I see the amount. I'm not stressing anymore, I'm only one person, and if I want to be glued to the Playstation (yes PS1, I'm old-school...till I get a PS2, then I'll be a-little-less-old-school), or stuck in a book, then the messages I have to look at will be here tomorrow, the next day, etc. But I do stress over crap like that, because i don't like to keep people waiting if something warrants a reply. But I'm about to go mental trying to please the rest of the world, so I think I'm just not gonna do that!
Ooh, speaking of pleased, my brother loved his gift (which I posted, as you probably already know). So that made me very happy!
Ok, I think that's all I had to talk about this time around...next journal will most likely be a feature of my recent faves!! (And I like this being able to organize our faves, etc...thanks to ~Selinelle for explaining that to me last journal. )

I am sooo tired!
What a crazy weekend, we had people pop over all weekend!!!! And that makes me tired.
Plus side, my nephew was over a few times, so auntie Ghia got to play, and get hugs and kisses and smiles and giggles!
I haven't been very active here in the past week (and won't be this week), as I've gotten myself in over my head on my brother's birthday gift. Which started out looking so good I was actually weeping with joy. Of course, it went downhill and I've been weeping in frustration ever since lol. And I have until Saturday to get it finished. His birthday is Sunday, but he'll be coming home Saturday. (And if it turns out in the end, I'll photograph it and post it.)
Valentines' Day is on Thursday, and, according to everyone I know, I'm the only single person who adores Valentines' day. And I love it more when I'm single than if I'm dating someone. I think the abundance of pink and hearts (and cinnamon hearts/chocolates/coversation hearts) have something to do with it. So, I have until Thursday to bake and decorate the heart-shaped cookies I'm putting in cute little heart-shaped gift bags that I made last week!
Also! My friends' father, (and close friend to the family), that I mentioned last journal, while still serious, has fully woken today, and understands where he is, what's going on, can move his toes, and is writing (tube in the mouth makes talking hard)...point is, this is amazing. And it's still a long haul, and I don't know details well enough to really repeat them, but it's good news, and if things keeps slowly improving like this, it'll be great!!!
Ok, I must try to get looking at a few journals/deviations before I fall asleep. I swear next week I'll get to checking everything out!

http://Roxyguitarz.deviantart.com/journal/16683452/ Sat, 02 Feb 2008 00:08:28 PST One of my (quite old) drawings was beautifully reproduced in a different medium by a newcomer to DA, and while I was much credited (and a link provided to the original), and I am very flattered, it is beautiful (better than mine *sigh*), I've been thinking that alot of people don't know what art theft is, and that by encouraging this, I'm not helping.
I'm too nice to start a controversy, and, in fact, I'm okay with this happening (just this once), especially since it was an innocent thing. And I'm learning from it. Yes, I'm passive, and too nice most of the time, and no I'm not going to give details because I'm perfectly fine with the picture being up, in fact I faved it! But while I'm flattered, I know another artist might feel violated by it. And, in a different circumstance, I might have, too.
But newcomers, please be aware of the unwritten (and in some cases written) rules. Ask artists first before doing anything with their works.
K, I feel better.
Also, with art theft running all over the 'net, I got rid of my Piczo site, so now my only art is on DA (And a few things I have up on Facebook for my friends to see, which I may watermark eventually for my protection.)
I'm also taking all of my art down from my Photobucket site, as Photobucket doesn't check copyrights or anything, so anyone else could take it and put it on theirs (besides, with my Piczo gone, I don't need Photobucket to host my images anymore.) However, if I gave a link to a sketch of a finished picture (I did that with some of my digital art), it may not be there, as I accidentally deleted those, or moved them, so I'll fix it eventually.

Lastly (I'm a bundle of cheer tonight, I tell you...actually, it's like 3am...can't sleep), a good family friend (and the father of two of my closest friends) is in the hospital, in critical but stable condition. He's been fighting a strange, rare illness for over a year now, and though he's ended up in the hospital several times, I'm worried sick this time especially. This man means the world to his family and friends, and to so many people in the small town I live in. So many people look to him for advice, comfort, and friendship. So please, keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.

I will get around to thanking everyone and visiting their pages, it just probably won't be this week. Looking to be busy. In fact, I've noticed I'm only getting computer time every two or three days. So, I'm still here, I'll just be slow at replies...and probably sparse with the art for a little while. I've drawn and sketched alot, and done a little painting, but I'm in a place in my head right now where I think it's not good enough to post, that some of the stuff I've already posted is crap...which I know we all go through this feeling. Bar worker sought in barkeep's death

A beloved bartender whose body was discovered Friday in the basement of a Port Richmond bar was beaten to death with a baseball bat by a bar employee after an argument "over something trivial," police said yesterday.
Then, cops said, the body was wrapped in a tarp and tied with tape in the basement of the establishment, where it was later found by his family.

Yesterday, police said that an arrest warrant had been issued for 36-year-old John McLaughlin in the slaying of James "Seamus" O'Neill, 60, who worked at the nearby My Blue Heaven bar.

McLaughlin runs McWhitey's tavern, on Venango Street near Mercer, authorities said, but the establishment appears to be owned by his sister.

It was in the basement of McWhitey's that the body was found.

"This is a very brutal homicide," Chief Inspector Keith Sad-ler, chief of detectives, said during a news conference yesterday.

"The victim died of blunt-force trauma to the head and body. We have all of our units looking for this man."

Sadler said O'Neill, a native of Ireland, is reported to have been last seen early Thursday leaving his job and going to McWhitey's, less than a mile away.

Sadler said McLaughlin attacked O'Neill during an argument with what detectives believe was a bat.


Friends and neighbors described O'Neill as a "caring man" who was willing to do anything for loved ones.

He tended bar at My Blue Heaven for about 15 years. Pinciotti, who works as a cook and waitress at the bar, said she considered him family.


She said that despite the tough circumstances, his memory will be kept alive.

"We're all just hanging in there," she said.

the suspect, McLaughlin is described as white, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing 230 pounds.

He was believed to be driving a brown Lincoln Aviator SUV. It was unclear whether he had fled the area.

One of his last known addresses was on Gaul Street near Allegheny Avenue.

1) I'd asked for Mary Poppins on DVD for Christmas for several years except this past year...and hehe, I got it! (The 40th anniversary double-disc set, no less!)

I have friends from out of town starting to come home (one friend just returned from China this past week, and I'll be seeing another friend from out of the province tomorrow! )
Also, during the holidays, I'll probably get to see a cousin I haven't seen in about 5 or 6 years, and we were very close growing up, and possibly another cousin who I haven't seen in ages as he was in Japan for 3 years! So much to look forward to!
There are still the issues that have kept me up at night, but they are slowly working themselves out, and besides, I can't do anything as they don't directly affect me, I just hate watching people I care about going through issues/stress/pain. And a friend of the family ended up in the hospital a couple of days ago, but happily he's getting much better, and should be home by the weekend. Ah, relief!
As for the baking? Where I get to be alone blaring my music and singing? Oh no, everyone had to pop over on Monday (I got three things made anyways), I didn't bother yesterday as we had a gang over again, I got two things made today (I told everyone last night to leave me alone lol)...all my sweets are done, now for the appetizers...I have a feeling I won't get any more alone time though, I had more fun last year, I must say.
So! I'll probably pop in to check a few deviations at a time whenever I can, and I'll try to comment...but if I just fave and run, forgive me!
I'm sure I'll make another journal closer to Christmas to wish everyone happy holidays!

PC

PSP 9, and Photoshop...but it's mostly for borders, since most of my art is traditional media...but I'm learning the digital!

Mouse. I asked for a tablet for Christmas last year (since I'm broke), and I got an airbrush set. Yeah. So mouse it is.

06.] What color or color combinations do you find yourself using most often?
Does "rainbow" count? lol No? Ok, black and white and red lately, I guess.

The face (I draw mostly people).

Depends if I'm just doodling, or if it's for serious.

LOl, depends on the month. I can churn 'em out pretty good if it's a quiet month.

Scrap paper, sometimes the backs of the paper placemats left over from the restaurant my family owned.

I don't ink alot....and nothing properly done when I do lol. I guess 20 minutes, or less, since I'm not really doing it right? Is there a right way?

Not often, I'm not good at drawing comics. I can think of ones I'd like to make, but it would never translate to paper.

I love them, I wish I could make them, but I'll settle for enjoying ones made by others.

Yes, I submitted a drawing of bassist Robert Trujillo (Metallica), to Metallica's fan magazing "So What".

Wow, there are way too many to list, and most of them are here on DA. Non-DA, I'd have to say Luis Royo.

You know, I never really was a fan. But I'm starting to come around. I don't have afave series though, as I haven't seen/read enough to have one.

23.] Do you like cartoons/comics? If so, what are your favorite series?
I do, my fave cartoon is Jem and the Holograms. As for comics, X-Men all the way!

24.] Any artists that you wish you could draw like?
I don't necessarily wanna draw like anyone, as I have my own style and way of drawing (and I'm obsessed with being unique and individual in everything I do lol). There are other artists I like to learn from, though, and get hints and tips from to help me with my own style, and to develop.

I go in spurts, depending on what's going on in my life. Sometimes I can read 6 books a week, other times, I'm lucky to read 1 a month.

Anyhoo, not much new here, I've been trying to get some drawing in, but with people popping by, and getting the house cleaned and organized for the holidays, my spare time seems to be filled.
I'm trying to reply to a few comments at a time on here, and leave comments on art, but please be patient. I have been viewing, I promise, but I don't have alot of time to leave comments each time. I've even been faving and running lol.
I have so many people to thank for faves and for adding me, and I hope I'll get to that too, but if it gets to be too late, know that I'm really grateful!!!

In other news, my Mp3 player died. That thing was my life. (Helped me tune life (or people) out when needed lol). Thankfully, due to a 2 year replacement warranty my dad had purchased (the player was a birthday gift), I got a new one yesterday (upgraded model, too).

I also have a sexy new winter jacket. Yes, sexy. I think. It's like a khaki green, but shiny, and it's kind of bomber-style, with a hood (with faux-fur trim) I'm in love with my jacket. Yeah. Alot.

This week is my mom's vacation from work, so on Friday we're cracking open a bottle of wine, some sweets, and decorating the house for Christmas. The idea being that when Christmas comes, she can enjoy the holidays having already gotten ready. I was sold on "bottle of wine". Bet the house'll look festive for sure!

Ok, it's almost 1am, and I was up early today, so I must sleep.
Hopefully, I'll have time in my next journal to do another feature!

But now I've gone through most journals and comments and polls and stuff. Deviations I'll get to throughout the week. There are tons to go through, and it's almost 1am, which used to be early for me, but with the time change, and the running around lately, I'm exhausted.

In cool news? I saw Transformers FINALLY! It rocked my socks! My best guy friend rented it and we watched it...we're hoping to watch it on his sister's ginormous-screen TV soon (she's also one of my best friends, so it'll be fun.)

Speaking of "ginormous" (my fave word since the movie Elf came out)...it's November already! I have to borrow Elf from my brother (like I do every holiday season), so I can get into the Christmas spirit! I really could use something to get excited about right now. I haven't felt excited or passionate about something in awhile, which is unlike me, as I'm always obsessing over one thing or another.

Ok, I've rambled on long enough. I'll do another journal feature in my next journal, I just wanted you all to know where I'm at, and that I will be going through deviations and looking at everyone's Halloween photos for sure. But...I still don't have a costume figured out. Well, now I think if I start working on it, I could be Advent Children Tifa. Except fatter, with not-so-dark hair. We'll see. I wasn't going to bother dressing up (since I couldn't figure out what to be), but one of my friends wants to go to the Halloween party at a local bar. So now I might dress up. But then, as Tifa, I'd freeze. Because I live in Canada. And it's ridiculously cold here on Halloween.
But I'm sooooo excited to see my baby nephew in his bumblebee costume!!!

K, so art-wise! I'm working on a b'day gift for someone very special, and since she wouldn't give me a hint as to what she might want, I've had to take things into my own hands... Mwahaha...

Life-wise, well, you know I was all excited and feeling better? Yeah, well, coming out of years of depression and feeling awake, and seeing what you've missed...is depressing. That, and I think I've changed, or my friends have, or both, because I feel like I have zero in common with anyone. Anyways, I'm having other similar personal issues, probably just in my head, but it's making me sad and angry, and feeling very lonely. I need to make a change (or ten) in my life, but that first step is always the hardest, especially since I don't know what I want, or where I want to be.
Enough of the serious shit!

Art-wise:
I'm working on a couple of contest entries right now, which will be scanned and submitted probably sometime next week. I've got a couple of other things to submit as well, and I'm working on a Kingdom Hearts collage that has been my obsession this last couple of weeks (it's maybe half-finished). Then I want to focus on learning new techniques, and improving my drawing skills, which I have also already been working on.

Also, sorry I'm slow to comment sometimes, and if I don't comment, know I've seen your work, I just don't have alot of time to go through all the comments, journals and deviations, so I do a few at a time. (I know I say that alot, but I don't want anyone to think I'm ignoring them!)

So, I may be on here a little less, since suddenly, being in my safe little home isn't what I want anymore, I want to be out and busy.
So it is going to take me awhile to get through the deviations, etc, that I have, since I won't be on here as often to check it out. I'm going to try to pop by a couple of times a week, but I just can't sit long anymore, so it'll be bit by bit, going through, etc. And if I don't comment, please know I have looked at it anyway, same with journals.
I do have more of my requests done, and I just need to scan them, clean 'em up a bit, then I'll post them this week sometime. And I'm still working on other requests, etc.

Summer's almost over, and now I'm in fall cleaning mode (well, until I get distracted...it's going slowly), and almost back in drawing mode...except I'm suddenly really down on my artistic ability. Right-o.
I'm going away for a few days, to visit my grandmother, and to get away from home because I need it. Alot.
Besides that, I'm only on here every few days lately, and only because I don't want my messages to pile up. But I'm not stressing it now. I'll get to it when I get to it, and just remember that I haven't forgotten you. So many people freak out when people don't comment on their art or just in a journal, and I always feel bad and try to, but I can't keep sitting up till 3am trying to get through everything, so relax. I'll look at everything, and comment on what I can.
I also had a total creative block for like 3 weeks, which is now slowly being changed. So when I do have time to sit at the computer again, I'm sure I'll have a few things to upload here! And I will continue the journal features then, too.

Wow. I wasn't on DA for 2 days an I had almost 200 Deviations to view, not to mention messages and notes!
So, be patient, I swear I'll comment, reply, view, whatever, it's just going to take time. And thanks to everyone who faved stuff and stopped by my page. I'll try to get to you all, too!
With it being summer, I don't have alot of art time. And I'm also trying to deal with some things, so my energy isn't exactly being put into art or the internet right now.
That being said, I have one drawing (based on something and I were talking about ) waiting to be scanned, and one drawing half-done as a b'day present for . Also, everyone asked about my "Lita & Damian" story...it is coming, I promise. I've written a few chapters, just have to type them out, and don't expect great literature because I'm no writer.
Also, my brother is teaching me bass! It's hella-fun!

Once again (I know I always say this), if I don't view or comment, or reply or whatever right away, don't worry, I haven't forgotten you! It just may take awhile if I don't get on here for a few days, 'coz the ole' message box fills fast!



I know I always say I'm busy and won't post anything for awhile, then the next day I post 5 things. So I'll say this instead: Sometimes I have lots of art time, sometimes not. It'll probably be in little bursts when I post over the summer, but that just depends on whatever life throws my way next!

Since no one caught the kiriban at 4000 (and how the hell did it get there that fast anyway???), I'm gonna draw a request from the person who catches it at ... 4666! Mwahaha!





Once again (I know I always say this), if I don't view or comment, or reply or whatever right away, don't worry, I haven't forgotten you! It just may take awhile if I don't get on here for a few days, 'coz the ole' message box fills fast!



I know I always say I'm busy and won't post anything for awhile, then the next day I post 5 things. So I'll say this instead: Sometimes I have lots of art time, sometimes not. It'll probably be in little bursts when I post over the summer, but that just depends on whatever life throws my way next!

I think it may still be on for some of you, I know it's after midnight here, but I didn't have time to come online today and properly celebrate!
So...
HAPPY DEVIANT'S APPRECIATION DAY!

Just want you all to know how much I appreciate all of you!
My one year anniversary here comes up in August, and I already have a plan to celebrate that one!

Once again, things are pretty crazy here, and I don't have alot of time to spend online (summertime, I guess!), so it takes me awhile to get through my messages, etc. But I'm not ignoring you!!

Hello, my lovelies! (Don't ask, I just felt the need to say that.)
I hope everyone's beginning of summer is going well!
I know tanning is bad (m'kay), but I've been working a bit on mine, since I spent the last two years pretty much depressed and in my bedroom, so this whole sun thing is working for me! Everyone keeps saying they can't believe I have color and don't look like a ghost...I think that's a compliment!
We have our big annual summer party at the end of the month, so we're getting the yard ready...I'm pretty excited!

Art wise, I have tons of ideas to get down, but I also really need to reorganize my art room (again, it's a mess). But to me, that's fun stuff!

Also, I'm competing in La Beau Monde fashion competition here, and already, after just the first challenge, I've been inspired to do more fashion drawings! I probably won't win, I know my style is a bit more...um, CRAZY lol, but I'm having fun, and meeting some of the other designers, and seeing alot of great designs!
