I've had Jack for one year now, and I can't imagine how I got along without him. The first puppy I've had while being old enough to really appreciate owning a dog. Though sometimes I think he owns me more than the other way around, with how he always gets his way and won't let anyone give me hugs.

He's my buddy, my playmate, my dog. Just Jack. Sometimes Puppy or Pumpkin or Puffin, sometimes 'Hey there, Stupid!' or 'Hello, Handsome!' If I didn't have to be careful not to step on a big Labrador everytime I got out of bed, I think I'd feel a lot more how dark and cold nights can be.

I took my sweatshirt off five minutes ago and he's already asleep on top of it. We had to take care of a baby bird for three weeks (wherein my dad took off work early TWICE because he was worried about it) because the dog bred for bird hunting wanted to play with it rather than kill it. He's really dense, but he's so funny and he tries so hard to be good.

And he is, really. He's nice and smart, just needs to mature a bit to make it more apparent. Jack's a good dog. One of those dogs that would be good under any circumstances, with any family.

Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy puppies!

He's a beautiful black lab, the calmest and most weirdly stoic puppy I've ever seen. Named him Jack, but he hasn't quite picked up on it yet and answers best to 'uppy'. I've got high hopes for training him, though, since after just a few hours he seems to know not to go into the kitchen.

Thought I'd write up a little journal to distract myself since he's crying in his kennel and it's breaking my sucker-for-dogs heart. All puppies cry the first few nights in a new home, I'm sure, and he's gotta learn that he can sleep on his own and in a kennel until he's got a good grip on housetraining, but still...

That's one of the most pitifully heartbreaking sounds ever. Poor baby. D:

I was pretty little last time we got a dog (and yes, I still love you, Tex, so stop looking at me like that. You're not being replaced.) so I'm looking forward to really having a hand in training and raising him. He's such a cuddlebug and hadn't seen stairs until a few hours ago, so I'm really excited to watch him grow up.

A new puppy is always exciting, but really it's like another new best friend that's going to love you unconditionally and ask nothing but a scratch behind the ears in return.

And that's something that's definitely hard to top.

I hope you'll be happy with us, Jack. I hope you'll learn that being in your brand new kennel and bed isn't a punishment, and that we'll love you just as much as your brothers and mother did. I know it must be scary beyond reason, but please don't cry so much, baby. It's okay, it's just for a night, just until the sun comes up. Go to sleep, puppy, you were so tired- stretched all the way out on your tummy. I'm sorry to make you cry like that, Jack, and it makes me want to cry, too. But it'll be okay, I promise. We'll have lots of fun tomorrow.

It's an incredibly childish thing to say, but... I hate growing up.

I really do.

I miss being able to go out and do things for fun, I miss having time for myself, I miss having the luxury of being bored. I miss my friends. I miss not feeling like I want to cry every single goddamn night, I miss being able to sleep and pull myself out of bed in the morning and accomplish something worthwhile.

I miss being happy.

It'd be rather nice to have some of that time back before I wasn't always working, when I was invited to things without it being assumed I can't go.

Everything is so off balance and downright miserable, and I'm so tired... This is the part where I start to selfishly think I'm getting less than I deserve.

It's a Kamui RP community, essentialy.

I believe the conversation between and myself went something like this....

Me: ... I wanna make an Kamui RP site.

[2 minutes later]

So, yeah! The entire purpose of this journal is to promote my and Greenphent's wonderful new site! We're looking for anybody willing to join and keep a good, consistent RP going.

And I promise it'll be super cool and fun because Greenphent and I are super amusing. >.>

I haven't takked it over with her yet, but I frankly don't think I care if some people wanna join who haven't read Kamui. Which I'm sure is a lot of people, because it's not exactly super well known. Even though I think it should be. <3

The RP takes place a long while after the initial series, and we're really trying to stay away having any canon characters- people get really pissy when they don't get a character they want, and Greenphent and I just don't wanna deal with that. And the distinct reality that not many people would be able to successfully and believably RP any of the canons because they're all complete and total nutjobs.

And c'mon. OC's are super fun and I loooove seeing people develop their characters along with their writing.

But yeah. Japan's little lawyer game is amazing on every level. It's addicting in the best kind of way. You WILL wake up at 3 AM thinking you've heard your most recent arch-rival yell "OBJECTION!" and prepared to bluff your way to righteous pwnage of whoever dare set foot in YOUR courtroom. And you WILL utterly freak when the battery light on your beloved little DS Lite goes from everything's-a-okay-in-legal-land green to ho-crap-go-find-your-charger-for-the-sake-of-humainty-you-spazface red.

Whose idea was it to have major school things right before the holidays? Or the holidays right after major school things? Though, frankly, I'm going to blame school. Because the holidays are cool. Too cool for school. That's a quality joke-thingy there, so laugh. Or roll your eyes and tell me how lame it was in a comment.

Anywho, holidays.

Looking forward to the new year. By which I mean not really. It just means that everything of mine until June gets to have the wrong year written when I date it. Been reliving my childhood. Through old movies. Awesome, right?

Had totally forgotten how much I loved the movie Ferngully.

If anyone of you peeps has not seen it.... you're missing out. Like, really. Robin Williams voices one of the characters which, by default, automatically makes it wonderful.

And if y'all have seen it but not in a while... re-watch it. There's some delicious and rather hilarious innuendo (mostly unintentional, but if you've got one of 'those' brains you'll pick up on it...)

And pretty sure Pips is the best thing since they put the pocket in pita.

Well, transition to college is complete. Or darn close.

Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Where our nearest and only source of a 'fun outing' is provided by the Walgreens on the corner or 42nd and Forest Ave. Oh, there's a Twister [movie, not the floor game] pinball machine at the pizza shop up the road, too. It's got this horrid fan on top that blows dust into your eyes when you try to play.

All in all, they provides us with enough activities to keep us blisfully occupied and uncaring about the lack of outside amusement. Two three-hour art classes meeting two times a week will definitely keep my muse happy.... or run it into the ground. I've yet to injure myself or my lab partner in AP Chemistry, and Art History is quickly shaping up to be one of my favorite classes. Having free coffee on the first day of class is such a cheap "pick this class as your favorite" move, though. But, hey, I'm not complaining.... ^_^

So.... yeah. I'll try and update more now, seeing as I'll probably actually have some time to draw and so will HAVE things to upload.

Oh, and just so nobody is confused... the front of my chemistry notebook says 'Chem Notes'. it's a blatant lie. Don't it fool you.

But the killer that made me realize how unhappy I've been was today when I had to give up my baby gosling. He's been like.... well, like my baby for the past month, and now he's gone. It took all I had to keep from crying on the carride home.

Now that I'm alone in my room, I find myself on the verge of crying.

.... But I don't mind that, I suppose. Especially if I'll feel better afterwards.

Things seem to have just been piling up, and they've exploded recently. My entire family is fighting. Not my immediate family, although there's ben a lot of friction between my sister and my dad recently, if not outright fighting. It.... I guess it's just been like all these bad things, none of which are especially terrible, have just stocked up, and all hit me right now. Fantastic timing.

And so many little things do add up to a big problem... and..... I think that may be what's bringing me down.

.... Gah. I'm just so sick of this. So sick of being so sad and mopey. I try to be happy, and it works for awhile. But... then I crash again. Right now, I'm just hoping things will calm down quickly so I can go back to rebuilding my former contentedness.

Uhm... my birthday is this month. Not that I'm really looking forward to it.

It's kinda been a boring month. And I'm sick and really sleepy. But I refuse to sleep. Ever again. I've been having strange dreams lately. Usually involving spiders, which really scared me. Nightmares in my book. It's weird bevcause I usually don;t remember my dreams.

And here's where it gets interesting! Yay, right?

So if anyone has any requests or suggestions for a drawing, please tell me. I just need anything to keep me from not-drawing. I hate to fall out of the habit of practicing. Not to mention it's one of my only ways of stress-relief/ relaxation....

I can't promise I'd post it, but if you have a suggestion I like and you really want to see it.... I suppose I could. Unless I really absolutely hate it. Then no mortal eyes ever get to see it. Also can't promise anything in a timely manner. Because I never finish things in one go.

So, anything would be greatly appreciated. And just maybe you'll score a free drawing out of the deal.... Shameless, I know,but I'm desperate.

Well, I had this with videogame characters, then thought of a better, more entertaining idea that hasn’t been done yet. So, this is dedicated to all of you who know what’s going on here.

And you know I've got some cool friends my when the only guy in the room, in the middle of a match, says "Link is so hot." Totally seriously. We all agreed, but Hawk n' I had to add that Marth and Roy were hotter.

Anyone notice how scary Cap'n Falcon's up+B attack is really scary? He did it to my precious Marth, and I paused and it looks like he was copping a feel of the lovely Marth. Roy made short work of him.

So, who's excited for Christmas? I am! I love the holidays! Especially when we're planning an anime/videogame party. We don't need to sleep.

Nothing new to report here, other than a well-deserved 'Thank You' to the wonderful Niyegen for her request. I had a lot of fun drawing it.

I've been so busy recently, I haven't had time to be bored. So, I'll just continue to be bored until I fall asleep. Yay! Sleep!!

I was home alone all day today, and I was in one of those glomping moods, so my dog Fletcher was the victim of my affection. But he adores attention so I don't think he minds. Except when I pounced on him from the top of the steps. He did that funny thing where a dog tries to run on tile, but can't get any footing, so their legs move but they don't.

... Hm. I really don't have anything to say. I'm out of coffee, so I'm drinking hot chocolate. My other dog Tex is whining at me because he is being ignored. Sorry, bud, but seven pound chihuahuas just aren't as much fun to glomp as seventy pound labradors.

Uploaded two new pictures in twenty-four hours. But that's not that interesting.

*insert awkward silence and/or crickets*

Um... Nothing new, really. Still going to marry Waka from Okami. Seem to be on a shonen-ai drawing fix lately. Everything I draw becomes some yaoi couple. Even when I have a set goal in mind. Like yesterday- decided to draw a wof- turned into that pic of Marth with wolf ears kissing Roy.

As Squall (who I also drew being kissed by Cloud) so eloquently stated "Whatever."
