Oh hello thar...

This is just because I was getting tired of my old journal entry >_>;

* So my car was T-boned by a van full of Mexicans last month much to my dismay (and I'm sure theirs too since their van was also completely fucked). But this actually turned out to be a good thing because now I have a new car. I've moved up from a '92 Lincoln Towncar to a '99 Grand Marquis LS (dubbed Juliette). Loved my old car, love my new car.

* ~Astarlen got her first car the same day. We shall celebrate this 'Car Day' forevermore.

* Got all A's last semester and am in good graces.

* Sensei says after we complete Japanese VI we will be ready for the JLPT lvl 3. Which means I'm kyuu 3 supposedly. I know I'll need moar learnings because kanji has kicked my ass thus far, but I am just v. happy about this in general. Kanji shall be resolved soon too (yay supplemental books!), I hope. And maybe in another four (LOL probably eight!) years I'll become fluent.

* Relatives are all healthy right now.

* Have I mentioned I bought a 360 before Christmas? Why yes, I did. With my own monies so it's preciousssss.

* Have learned a great deal about China I didn't know before thanks to a class this semester.

* Found out a very good thing having to do with someone, and am very happy.

* This RP I'm in which has been stagnating for almost a year has been revamped and will be opening up again soon. It has eaten my muse alive. And by that I mean:

* Adji got accepted to play Il Forte, so we can now snark the shit out of each other (I play Szayel Aporro). Also, still have a fucking awesome Nnoitra there, which makes for epic logs.

That's it?

2009 is a great year so far and I know it's just going to get better.

I do find it hilarious that they quote chan memes but claim to hate "cartoon porn", and that they clearly have no idea about US laws. Ah, the lulz.

Buuut this is all old news to everyone, except me. I just had to express my indignation at the CAIDS (cancer + AIDS) that is eating fandom.



My Dad wanted to see Transformers, so we did. As you may know, I really just don't care for mecha or any sort of giant robot series. They bore me immensely. So, of course, I was going into this movie with very low expectations...and I must say, they were completely blown away. Movie is fuckin' awesome. I don't know why, but it was just excellent.

We also went out on the 4th to see fireworks at the stadium and Jimmy Buffet (sp?) was playing. I knew of him through his Margaritaville restaurant (bar?) I had seen. He's apparently a big hit with the older generation. It was cool such a big celebrity would play in our medium sized city.

In other fandom news, Grimmjow owns my soul. The man is pure testosterone-laden sex. I fucking love writing him. Yes, that means a sequel to my previous piece. I started this instead of writing my flashfic last week (aka I suck). I wonder if I will live up to my success with the first piece. Hope I don't land hard on my ass with this.

I normally hate shooters, but this one owned me from the first second I picked up the controller. Very strange, that. I guess Squeenix just has a way with me. They know just how to stroke my gamer G-spot X3 I was kind of getting out of the video game scene, I hadn't really played that much in months...maybe even a year, but this turned it all around. I can't...stop...playing. I don't even want to be on the internet for I must play! 0_0 Those of you who know me and my habits know how signifigant that is XD

It's a short and sweet game which I can see myself replaying over and over...just because. It's up there with Virtua Cop 2 (Sega Saturn, bitch) and Resident Evil 4, the only other shooters I have ever really liked.

In other news, just got back from my Dad's ( my Daddy!) today and I'll be going back to school this Saturday or Sunday. Expect a bunch of deviations from me then. I have indeed been drawing (getting better I think XD) all summer but I just haven't had a chance to scan anything.

Oh, and I'm actually going to roleplay Naraku for _catchphrase_. I made it in! I have never seriously RP'd in my life, so this should be interesting. I'm really beginning to realize that Naraku is my hobby. What would I do without him? D:

What the hell happened while I was away? Dammit. I see some features of the site have improved, but the rest is just bull....

I have read a few things and it makes it seem like $spyed stole the site from °jark . Possibly a coup de etat . Damn it people! I am bristling with new art to submit, but I don't want to send it to a site that lacks integrity... I wish this hadn't happened. It's really put a damper on my mood. Even though I'm just a peon here, I still don't feel right about it. I guess I'll stick to submitting my stuff on Y! Galleries ( [link] ) until this clears up. Possibly might consider moving over to Sheezy Art. I don't want to because I do love this site, but I just don't know anymore.

Yes, I'm back, but I won't be submitting any new art or anything until I see what will happen. I'm also not going to write about any personal stuff in my journal here either. A quiet sort of protest on my part.

So what will I be doing during this time? Well, I'll be writing fanfiction! Just like I did over Spring Break. I really need to update my story and have thought of a killer idea for the next scene (down on your knees Decima! *cracks whip* ). I'm also thinking of giving up on FF net because I don't feel like conforming to their rules. Mainly, I don't want to have to edit the shit out of all my erotic chapters >.> I hate having two versions... I'll make AFF my permanent home, and stay there. Have I mentioned that I love AFF? Because I do.

While I'm there I'm also going to draw a lot . I have to finish my OrochimaruxNaraku picture (that's teh sex btw) and finish all my gift pictures. I'm going to kidnap my Mom's Prismacolor markers and color pencils when I leave. *Muahahahahaha* It's not like she uses them anyway.

I'll also be able to play FFVIII a lot (I just got it yesterday). And yes I realize I'm behind the times...

Hmmm...oh yes, I'm going to be taking my car down there! That's right, I get to make a 2.5 hour drive going 70mph! w00t. Well, it's not that exciting really. I suppose if I were 16 with a new license it would be... I'm just excited about getting my car fixed up. My Dad said he's going to fix my windows (only one goes down), and possibly fix my AC. Oh sweet joy. I love my car, but it can get damn hot sometimes >.>; That's why I like the Winter better...cold...

And I wonder who the initials belong to... and what will become of it all and everyone? For most of the book I thought maybe the author had looked up fanfiction for her own works and followed someone else's plot. There was so much romance going on that it reminded me of a lot of the stuff I have read on FF and AFF net, but it didn't end in a way I have seen before. And who could have expected it? Not me. I admit, I accidently saw a spoiler, so I had some clue to a certain signifigant event toward the end, but I just...bleh.... I feel so empty :/ disillusioned.... And I really really REALLY don't like Voldemort....at all...ever. I know I usually like the bad guys, but not this time! I may sympathize a bit with his younger self, but that's where it ends! I hope his pieces (7) burn in hell forever! It's made me so sad, but not for the reason you'd think. It is for the perpetrator of the act...and questions as to why it was done in this way...

Yeah, I'm being vague, but that's because I don't want to spoil it for anyone...

Edit: Just to let everyone know, Drake told me yesterday that he's leaving dA and not coming back.He says he's found real friends who have lives....whatever that means...

I had read about this magazine coming to America in Newtype and am very pleased and proud to have the premier issue! I am sooooo getting a subscription to this!

A side note: I was looking in the beginning at all the stories in the book and saw a really beautiful picture. I was like, "Hey, this person is a great artist! Looks like Kaori Yuki's stuff. I love it!" That's when I looked at the sidebar and saw that the manga-ka was indeed Kaori Yuki! Huzzzzzah! I can never get enough of her artwork. It's so beautiful.... *artgasm* XD We're all just peons compared to her! No, really, I'm not crazy at all ...

Did anyone else get Shojo beat? Let me know if you did! For those of my friends who are local Go-Blockbuster-NOW!

I don't like making difficult decisions, and that's a big part of living life. I'm just rambling here... Feeling very nostalgic right now. I used to do this a lot in middle school. I would sit back and remember all the times I got made fun of...I would have to go to a public place in order to feel real. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. The feeling that life is all a dream. It doesn't happen to me so much anymore, but I used to feel this way a lot. The only cure was usually a trip into town, to reassure myself that there were indeed other people out there and that I was real. It's kind of ironic actually, because these days I'm almost always alone in my room. Doesn't bother me anymore I guess. o.0 The mind is an odd thing....ramble....ramble..... Maybe I'm just a bit sad. left for college today and I won't get to see him for at least a month Yeah, I've got other friends, but I'll still miss him. I just got back from Orientation not too long ago. It was awesome. I got my classes, saw my room, toured the campus, and scoped out all the hot guys (they were looking my way too ^.~ ).

Right now I'm taking 6 classes (4 classes and 2 labs).

College Algebra - 5 days a week 50 mins a day

Chemistry for Today - 3 days a week 50 mins a day

Chemisty lab - 1 day a week 50 mins

Japanese - 4 days a week 50 mins a day (WOOOOT XD)

Japanese lab - TBA ---I dunno how often or when....

World Perspectives - 1 day a week 2hr & 50 mins >.< (my only night class).

And that's my schedule. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a full schedule (15 hours). That may not seem like a lot to you, but they recommend studying for 2 hours for every hour in class...sooo....yeah. I'll be busy. But it'll be worth it to learn Japanese--once again w00t!

As for my living space. I'll be sharing an apartment with D-san and his sis Robin. I saw my room. It was small, but had this cool windowsill that you could sit on and put stuff on. The room is only 9'6" by 10" , but still cool. The house is awesome. It even has an atrium! Overall, I'm very excited.

The campus is great. Not nearly as intimidating as I thought it'd be. I already know the general location of all my clasess. Everyone was very nice to us underclassmen. Damn, I'm at the bottom of the totem pole again >.<

As for the guys, I gotta tell you, I've never been looked at and flirted with more in my life! OMG, it's very very different from high school. If you are unloved right now, trust me, it will get better. 0.0 And it wasn't ugly guys either, a lot of hot guys were giving me looks! It's true, they were all cute, but I've got a man and the whole time I was thinking about you, just so you know . I had you in my mind all the time, babe

And now, I've got to see if I can get my Mom's digital camera to work because I really want to upload pics of my painting, scratchboard, charcol, and pastel pieces. ^-^

Have I mentioned that I love USF already? Because I do!

Thankfully, the new art teacher was very cool. Mrs. Hammett is one of the nicest, most open-minded people I've ever met. She may not have been into anime, but at least she acknowlaged it as a form of art and let me draw in my own way. I did some of my best pieces in her class...which I have yet to put up here. I will as soon as I get a decent photo of them. In short, I'm going to miss her very much. I hope my college art teachers will be as cool as her.

The thing that brought this all back to me was a recent argument I had with my mom in which she said that photoshop drawings are not art and, and that anime and cartoons aren't art. Needless to say, I spazzed out. I said to her "So the people who work at Disney aren't artists? If cartoons aren't art, they definetly aren't artists." She pursed her lips and said "Some cartoons are good art." So, basically, she's being hypocritical. I think it's her rabid hatred of anime that's doing this. O well, I'll do what I usually do and not care. Apathy works best sometimes.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I don't like closed-minded people. <.<

You see, I've realized something. I don't know why it wasn't apparent to me before, but it is now. There are lots of fandoms like mine (anime) and everyone likes to dress up as their favorite characters. Star Wars, LOTR, Star Trek, DEVO, and many others. We all cosplay to show our love and devotion to the series or character. In many ways we are all similar. That's why, although this is funny, I will not be faveing it. This person has insulted the
Star Wars fanbase and has indirectly insulted my fanbase as a result.

Average "normal" people just don't understand. I don't think that most have what it takes to be a true fan. They consider us freaks, but in our world, they are the pariahs. I'm not that big a Star Wars fan, and I don't support the whole "Darth Vader stroking his red light saber" thing, but still....NO.

A.F.O. was a great convention and had lots of cool cosplayers. I sort of had a Sesshoumaru get-up going on (I had the stripes and crescent moon painted on my face and hands) and I was wearing my big Inuyasha t-shirt. The con took place at a resort, and as I was walking back to my room late one night I passed the pool and two people got out and started walking in front of me. I guess they didn't notice me or my getup, because one said to the other "These kids are freaks." The said person had to turn a bit to see her parter, and as she did so, saw me walking a few feet behind her. They looked at me as if I was Freddy Kruger come to get them. It was hilarious actually. I fought the urge to stoop to her level and say "At this resort, you are the freaks." I walked silently behind them with my stoic expression in place. Inside, I was rolling XD I think I scared them a good bit. lmao.

The irony of this deviation is they were calling the other people freaks, but in reality, they were the freaks in the theatre...*shakes head* Have I mentioned that I don't like closed-minded people? I'm sure I have.
