The Long awaited Zelda fan-film "Hero of Time", loosely based off Ocarina of Time, was released onto the Internet recently, so I decided to take a look. This movie's been in development hell for the past few years and they recently finally got off their collective rears and finished the thing.

And, well, the wait wasn't worth it.

This movie was bad, plain and simple. Allow me to specify a few memorably bad parts. There are plenty of WTF's inbound:

- Saria is Link's adoptive mother.

- Everyone has terribly forced English accents.

- Malon hits Link in the head out of nowhere with a frying pan. A reason why is never given.

- The CGI is very hit-or-miss. Sometimes it comes across well, other times, it's facepalm worthy. Sometimes the actors will be in a CG environment when there's absolutely no reason for them to be in one.

- Overall story feels generic.

- There's no actual sword fighting until past halfway through the movie.

- Link stops some guys stealing a shield from Talon, and ends up just keeping it for himself without asking. On a side note, the shield looks like crap.

- The actual "meat" of the game where Link would travel around exploring dungeons, fighting bosses, etc. all take place in the very last 4th of the movie.

- Darunia the Goron makes an appearance, but instead of him being a huge, rock being he's just a big Asian guy with a deep voice.

- Link randomly grabs the Darunia's hand and cuts him to solve a puzzle.

- There is pretty much no mystery that Sheik is Zelda. You can see right though her veil, for goodness sake. Not to mention that the name "Sheik" isn't even mentioned until the big reveal.

- Not enough emphasis on the final battle. Just an average sunny day out in the field.

The only good thing about this movie is one memorable character, the sage of fire, who is not Darunia, but a very attractive girl instead. Her personality is probably one of the few really likable ones in the entire movie, where she flirts with Link in an almost Ruto-esque fashion. (Albeit it's actually kinda cute here) She's also kinda hot, which also helps. The problem is SHE ONLY APPEARS FOR LIKE 2 MINUTES AND THEN LITERALLY DISSAPEARS. WTF.

Overall, I'm giving this a 4.5/10, It's just not that good at all.

If you want to see an actually well done Zelda fan-film watch "Sage of Darkness". That one was EXCELLENT, and it had a much smaller budget.

The Demo/Soldier update for Team Fortress 2 is out now. THE DEMOMAN GOT A FREAKING SWORD AND SHIELD OMG. It looks amazing and I want it.

Soldier (Who won the war) got a faster Rocket Launcher, an item that powers up his teammates, and a pickaxe that does more damage the more injured Soldier is.

EDIT: Update on how the date went.

I gotta say I do like her. She's kinda fun, although I admit I was intimidated by her, mostly because she kept asking "Have you seen this anime or this one?" And unfortunatly, although I have a definite appreciation for the style, I have not seen that much at all...so I was kinda lost most of the time shes tarted talking about that.

We did talk about Team Fortress 2, though, so I was able to level with her there. She's apprenetley only been playing since September, but before that she's also played Half-Life.

As for what we did, we ate lunch at this great Japanese restaurant, then wandered about the shopping area, checking out my friend's usual haunts. We talked a lot, laughed a lot, too.

When it was all over I got her number and her Steam ID as well, so I might be able to play against her in TF2 sometime.

I think the high point was making her laugh.

It wasn't exactly world-changing for me, but it was still a nice experience just hanging out and talking.

There's defientley some incredible and interesting new twists to the original formula here. In the original, crescendo events were simply "survive until the door opens". In L4D2, these events are intensified with objectives, such as having to search for gas to fuel a car in order to escape. In fact the whole game feels much more intense, you'll feel it everywhere from the more aggressive infected, to the gore, the action-movie-esque crescendos, etc.

The melee weapons are the BEST THING EVER to happen to L4D. I will seriously never go double-pistol again as long as I can grab a machete, or even better, the katana. GOOD LORD I FREAKING LOVE THE KATANA!!! Especially when playing in 3rd person!

My favorite campaign's probably going to have to be Hard Rain. Having to run around in a raging storm with Witches wandering around everywhere just feels incredibly epic!

The new characters are starting to grow on me, although I'll miss Zoey. D:

The final chapter had my heart pounding! I haven't played a finale that intense since the Strider invasion at the end of HL2:Ep2!

My main complaint has to be that the layout of the environments will sometimes leave you feeling lost, forcing you to trudge forwards semi-blindly, hoping you're going in the right direction, (Which, thankfully, you usually will be.)

I'm going to give this, overall, an 8.8/10

This wihtout a doubt a game worth playing, and it's definetley not just extensive DLC.

I've been blowing my nose A LOT, and now I've been coughing a lot. I wake up in the morning and my throat is dry and sore. I'm trying to drink as liquids as I can to help, as well as inhaling steam from boiling water, gargling with warm salty water, etc. to help, but I think I really need to go home this weekend to recuperate. Ugh...

I finally sat down to read the new Dan Brown book "The Lost Symbol". 'Twas good.
It feels a bit different from "Angels and Demons" and "The DaVinci Code", mostly because of the Washington DC setting as compared to the European ones from the previous novels, but still remains quite interesting as it delves into history and symbology, (As well as making a few amusing references to the other stories "If this is about the Holy Grail, I don't know anything!")

I've heard that Atheist groups are pissed off a bit at this one, and probably with good reason.

Just read it and you'll see why.

Student Housing is okay. Getting along with my roomies alright, no problems or anything so far. It's actually very quiet around here, everyone's just sitting at their computers, either playing a game or doing schoolwork. I'm finding it hard to keep up with washing my dishes all the time, though, our sink is usually packed full of dishes...we need a dishwasher machine, heh. So far it dosen't feel exactly like "home" since I'm sharing it with a bunch of people I still don't know very well yet, but I'm quickly getting used to dorm life.

I should really put up some pictures or perhaps a video sometime of the place...

Right now I'm visiting my parents for the weekend, mostly to re-stock on supplies, etc. Man, I miss having a proper internet connection...back at the apartment all I've got are crappy one-bar connections from who knows where. (The school does not provide Internet and Cable, those have to be supplied by the students) We do have Cable TV thanks to one of my roomies, but everyone sans myself has their own internet connection. I can barely do anything internet-y over there... D: At least I get a good connection in the School's Studnet Lounge, but for some reason the Steam Network dosen't work down there so I can't play TF2 or L4D during my breaks... D:

Going to bring a bike with me so I can begin exploring the surrounding area of my apartment...hopefully get a job as well...I heard there's a Library around there with plenty of net access, I'll definetley have to check it out...

Left 4 Dead is now one of my favorite games now. In fact anything involving zombies is starting to become cool to me. XD In fact I got around to watching "28 days Later" and "Zombieland" and thought they were plenty awesome.

In other growing-up related news, very soon I'm going to move into student housing. I don't feel like I've prepared, like, at all. I really need to start making lists, etc. doing some more research on the local area where I'll be living. I start collecting items I'll need at the apartment...oh, and I seriously need to make a list of recepies so I can cook my own food.

I do feel like moving into this sort of environment is going to help me to grow a bit more. It's a way for me to force myself to be a little more independant under a sort of controlled circumstance...

School's pretty intense at the moment. I am having to work harder on stuff, particularly the stuff I don't like...(cough math cough) Going to tutoring, hoping they can get soemthing into my skull...

You know, recentley I came up with a possibility of why my brain seems to want to shut out math as much as possible. When I think of math, the first thing that usually pops into my mind is my dad screaming at me when I was younger when I couldn't understand the concepts of my math homework. Perhaps I just assosiate it with harsh negative feelings so much that it's caused me to fear math and the severe neagative feelings it gives me.

Another reason why I'll be glad to step out of the house and into student housing for awhile...

Gah! My Steam Account has been hacked! Someone's changed the passwrds, the email contact, the secret phrases, etc.!

This sucks on ice. I hope Valve can fix this soon...

It might have gotten fixed...I won't know until I get home...

EDIT 3: Okay, it's fixed! Thank goodness Valve acted so quickly, I was able to get my account up and running again under my name...I also changed my passwords, etc. to a new set of my own. I think I might start changing it all every once in awhile just to be safe...now I can get back to playing TF2 and L4D, lol.

-Coraline-Very interesting movie, pretty well done. It was a bit hard to tell what was stopmotion and what was 3D...The story is one of those simple but effective stories that harkens back to the kind of tales you hear as a kid.

-Rush Hour 3-A Dissapointment. It was too short, didn't do enough, had too many cliches, and the ending is so redicuously abrubt that I could hardly believe it. At least the coreography was good, but it wasn't as creative as past Jackie Chan movies have been. I think it's time for him to retire from being in movies, I get the feeling like he's tired out of people using him.

-The Spirit-I heard that the critics didn't like this one. While I do think it isn't exactly the best movie ever, I actually liked this one. I found its quirkiness quite fun.

-Blood: The Last Vampire-(The original anime short, not the recent live-action one based off it) For the minimal storyline, it's actually kinda interesting. Also, I gotta say, when I see how monstrous the vamps are in this, I can't help but point and say "You see that? THAT is what vampires should look like, they're raw, violently bloody demons, not sparkly prettyboys." (I think you all know what I'm referring to there...)

-Watchmen-A long but rather satisfying comic-book movie. I found the alternate history and the grittiness of it all a rather interesting take on the superhero genre. Rorsach is defientley my favorite character, I really felt for his character and I felt that I could understand where he came from and why he acts the way he does. Not to mention that he looks pretty friggin' awesome with the suit and hat, etc. Coincidnetley I've actually got a model of him for Gmod, and I now plan to use him in a future Pretention and Prestiege comic.

-Hand Maid May-(Anime series) Honestly, I started watching this on accident, I swear! Anyways, I watched the entire series in one day, and thought it was actually pretty funny and rather sweet, all things considered.

I also watched the first Tomb Raider movie again. Not the best, but a heckuva lot better then the 2nd one. It's kinda cool to see Croft Manor as it appears in the movie and how well the re-created it in the more recent Tomb Raider games.

I've recentley become less and less motivated to draw, which is why I have so much 3D and Gmod stuff posted as of late. It's much easier to make stuff in 3D then to draw something and worry about things like recreating details, perspective, and worst of all, coloring. I can color things, but I find that the inking and coloring process always quickly bores me, which is why I have so many drawings that I say I'm going to color but end up not coloring...

However, I have actually worked on a few drawings lately that I haven't gotten around to scanning yet. I've been continuing re-designing some of my characters and a few of the redesigns are stuff I'm relatively proud of.

Since it's a new month, I'll try to get another Pretention and Prestiege comic in sometime, as per my "at least one comic a month" goal. Oh, and the story arc I've mentioned before? It's not going to be part of it anymore. I've taken that idea and put that aside for now, because I have some bigger and better ideas for it that I plan to go into detail about later. P+P will continue on as just random sketches, just like the original became.

I'm falling behind on schoolwork a bit lately. I need to start focusing more of my time on my work...

Along those lines, I can't believe I'm actually finally going to go into student housing next quarter...I hope it'll be alright...I believe that I'm capable of managing mostly on my own...I'll just try to do my best.

A lot of titles for the core gamer have been announced for Wii latley, mostly from Japan. I'm glad the little white box is finally getting some respect from the 3rd parties.

I've been trying out playing the other classes in Team Fortress 2 besides my mains, the Engineer and the Pyro. Sniper is pretty fun, but challenging. At the same time, however, I think the Sniper's the worst class. I've got a few reasons why...

-Snipers never really focus on completling objectives such as stealing the enemy's intel, or capturing control points, they always stand far away from the action. This is especially bad when playing on 2Fort, where all they ever do is go to the front balcony and shoot at the other snipers on the other balcony, instead of actually going into the enemy base and getting the briefcase.

I've been thinking for awhile on how to approach the new version of the series, and exploring Gmod for inspiration, and I've come up with some ideas for a general story arc. Here's the story idea I have at the moment:

"Link is in Hyrule when a severe rift in reality occurs, which teleports Link and others into the Construct. They learn from G-man that the rifts are being caused by a war between beings called “

layersÂ. The two groups at war are called the Minges and the Mods. The rift was caused by the Minges as an attempt to de-stabilize the ModÂs control over the other Players. The Players can control reality like a game, and they use it as their source of entertainment. G-Man puts the group in contact with a player to help them out, but they discover that the player is a n00b and isnÂt very knowledgeable yet.

Link and the others set off to stop the minges and restore realityÂs balance, but will discover that not is all as it seemsÂ Corrupt users and bizzaire encounters with characters from other realities will blur the already shattered lines that define reality."

as just purely as random sketches...and at the same time I've been thinking about making a more serious drama-oriented comic...it's still a little up in the air. I can assure you of this, though, it's coming soon.

Summer break's ended, and my classes have started again. I'm going to be pretty busy this quarter, actually, it might be pretty stressful because I'm re-taking College Algebra, which I failed last time. Wish me luck...

We finally have wireless internet in the Student Lounge now, so that's cool.

I'm actually thinking about making a video sometime about what it's like at my school. You know, show an average day at the Art Institute, show off what we've got there.

Our Phillipines trip was CANCELLED due to lack of funds. D: I was really looking forwards to visiting the Phillipines again, and it's such a historic occasion, my Great-Grandmother's 100th birthday!

Oh, well. in the meantime my family's planning some less expensive trips, this week we'll be going backpacking in Desolation Valley. That should be fun. I really should make a video, It's been so long since I've posted a video blog...

I really need to start earning money soon, so during the break I'm going to start looking fora job again. The Blockbuster that's within walking distance of my house is hiring, so I'll be checking that out.

Also, I've filed in some paperwork at the school so that, come Fall Quarter, I'll be in Student Housing! I know it's expensive, but I really feel like this is something I have to do to help myself be a better person. I gotta start being more independant, and I think this will help me out a lot. The student housing I'll be staying in is in Daly City, only a few stops on the train away from the school. At least I won't have to take two busses AND a train ride to get there...

I tried searching for Fate Stay/Night on iTunes recentley. I was able to get the entire Witchblade Series though that, so I figured I might be able to find it on there, but no such luck. I'll have to find it a different way, I guess.

lent me his DVDs of the Anime "Fate Stay/Night". I just got finished watching it a few minnutes ago...

To me, this series is definetley up there with Witchblade as one of my favorite animes ever now. I really don't want to spoil much, but let me just say that there are certain parallells between Witchblade and Fate Stay/Night that I can't ignore, and this includes the way it made me feel after I finished it.

Once again I felt very moved by the characters. I wanted so bad for them to be happy. As some of the characters fell in love, I began to fall in love as well. The character Saber is unlike most of the characters I've seen so far wathcing Anime, there' just something really special about her. Even though the art style is a little simplified in the sense that many of the characters faces are similar, I couldn't help but find this character extravagantly beautiful. She's so...breathtaking. I can't explain why, she just is. Much like the main character, I fell in love with her.

This is a story with an ending that moved me to tears. It's that wonderful.

Sure, the frachise has a sketchy history, but then again even the most beautiful things in the world have some kind of dark side to them. It's part of a balance, I think, that ulitmatley makes it easier to relate to, as a human being.

That being said, At the moment I can't bring myself to go into any more detail other then that I've fallen in love with this series. Hard. It's another example of the way true love should be, the way it was meant to be.

How I long for the day when the world can understand this kind of beauty. Yes, it hurts crying over it, but it's a strange, very different kind of pain. It's the kind of pain you WANT to feel. Because, in a mysterious, inexplicable way, you can't help but be drawn to it. It's a beautiful pain. A beautiful drowning in true, unmitigated love.

Dear God in heaven, you do indeed work in mysterious ways. I can find you in some of the strangest of places, but you are there, aren't you? Even in places where most traditionalists would decry. The most beautiful of your works, the passionate desire to sacrifice oneself for another, to make someone happy, no matter what consequence. True Love. Agape.

So, before I totally lose it and end having to explain to my family why I was crying so hard today, Let me just say that this is a fine series. I would definetley reccomend this series.

My old one works, but the switch that allows it to review taken pictures is broken, plus it records really low-quality video in only quicktime, which I can't edit...I do have Sony Vegas on my computer, but the thing is, I have no idea how to use it...WMM may be as flawed as heck, but at least it's easy and intuitive...Makes me kinda wish I had a more recent version of "Pinnacle Studio" instead, from what I remember of that program it's pretty close to WMM in terms of how you edit the videos, while at the same time being a much better editor overall...

Speaking of WMM, I've recentley tried to do another Youtube Poop, but the darn thing crashes on me every time I try to save the finished video as an actual video file...which is sad considering that this recent poop is practically 6 months in the making...I started working on it during Thanksgiving last year and only recentley went back to it...Good grief...

I swear my dreams are getting wierder.

From what I remember of my dream last night, I was trying appease a giant shark/kraken type thing underwater by finding it a mate, and I managed to trick it into thinking a school of fish was a giant creature like it or something and it gave me access to the sea beyond the shore as thanks. So I flew out to sea with the help of that seagull from "The Little Mermaid" and we chased after Jack Sparrrow and stole some thing from him, then flew back to shore as fast as we could.

We were then running across the beach (No idea how the seagull turned into a person) trying to get away from him because he was pissed off at us when we saw a friggin' T Rex standing in the street! We ran across the street into the nearest house. The dad of teh family inside was just about to head out to work, apperentley, but he went right back inside when he saw teh T-Rex coming. I closed the door to shut the dinosaur out, when I felt someone definetley human pushing on the door trying to get in, so I open the door to let them in and it's the Pastor from my church!

He thanks me and I try to shut the door when the T-Rex manages to squeeze it's head in. With teh help of the family inside and the Pastor we push so hard on the door that we squeeze the dinosaur's head almost in half. It's stuck dead in the door. We were just about to pass out shotguns to everyone to deal with a second T-Rex outside when the dream ended.

I wish I'd stayed asleep long enough for us to go kill the 2nd T-Rex...and find out what happened to Jack Sparrow...

The Spring Quarter started for me last week. I've got Character Animation on Monday morning and then Advanced Materials and Lighting at night, on Tuesday it's another night class: Ancient Art History. On Fridays I have a class I feel I'm really going to like: Character Modeling!

Worth mentioning: My teacher for Character Animation worked on the commercial for the medicine "Lamisil". You know teh one with the yellow gremlin-guy who digs around under your toenail? I'm talking about this one:

I've been trying out Street Fighter 4 a few times at school. Seems kinda cool. The first time I played, I tryed playing as Ryu and lost...Then I tried Chun Li and scored a perfect on the first round, and eventually won that match.

I was thinking about maining her, but I'm starting to lean heavily towards Cammy now because my odds for winning with her seem higher, and also because I think her character design is kinda hot, albeit a tad simplistic. XD

Hey everyone, this is my first journal for 2009, and I've got some pretty awesome stuff in this one!

First of all, it's been reported that Miyamoto has filed a patent for a new gameplay system that may be implemented in the next Zelda game! A series of diagrams found in the document reveal that the game will have a "cheat" system for casual gamers by revealing hints on the puzzles. Core gamers can simply chose to ignore the hints to make the game more challenging. There will also be included the ability to jump to a particular part of the game, which allows casuals to skip a part they don't want to play, or allow core gamers to re-play their favorite parts. Finally, there will also be a sort of "Movie" mode where players can watch the game basically play itself, which can be used either as a way of obtaining hints for the game.

These elements would allow core gamers to have the increased challenge and difficulty they want and play the game mornally, while allowing casual gamers a "Win" button of sorts.

I think these are brilliant ideas, this could mean that the next Zelda could be a lot more challenging and possibly be a lot more cinematic in nature. Of course, this is merely a patent document, things may get changed later on...only time can tell, though.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Dick van Dyke is a 3D animator now? he started getting interesting in special effects while on the set of "Mary Poppins" when they had to perform the chalk-drawing segment in front of a green screen. During his show "Diagnosis: Murder" Mr. Van Dyke actually created a special effect used in the show-a spectacular motorcycle crash.

The holidays were mostly uneventful, Christmas netted me a whole lot of clothes and New Years was just staying at home at watching the ball drop while my parents were asleep. My sister and I continued our tradition of jumping into the air at the exact moment of Midnight.

I went out and got "Tomb Raider: Underworld" for myself. Still can't go for an Xbox 360 yet.

-Hancock...Pretty good, I think. It's fasciating to see the actions of superheroes actually being taken into account in this manner.

-Miss Potter...An excellent watch for any artist, they will be able to relate very well with her.

-300...not the best movie ever made, but it's definetley the MANLIEST movie ever made. XD Almost makes me feel awkward that I was drinking mint tea with a spoonful of sugar in it at the same time...

When she was finally done I assumed the worst.

She explained that she and my Dad had been really stressed out latley due to taxes. They had estimated that they owed over $30,000. We're not very affluent at all-my Dad is in danger of losing his job, my Mom is trying to get her own dental practice up and running, and my tuition for the Art Institute is astronomical. so the big concern was where all that money was supposed to come from. And that to figure it out today, since it's due today.

The call was concerning the taxes.

Acording to the tax-person or whatever, we actually owned...nothing. In fact, the government owes us. My Dad had called to confirm that this is real and actually happeneing. We are getting compensated.

My Mom's crying was not sadness at all, but tears of joy.

It's safe to say that I'm really relieved that things are actually looking up now for us. It's little miracles like this that make all the difference sometimes.

I've mentioned in a recent picture my admittance for being a pervert. Yeah, It's true, I've been having a lot of pretty intense thoughts lately, but I'm chosing to try to control myself, and for the past month I've been pretty succesful at moderating it.

It's perfectly normal and natural to appreciate beauty, I just need to be able to keep myself from going too far overboard with it.

I realise that this has all been a result of my recent feelings of intense lonliness as of late. I just really hope that I can meet the girl I'm meant to be with soon. Wherever or whoever she is, I really need her support now more then ever.

I got my grades back today. An F in College Algebra. It's now official. I'm being pulled out of the Art Institute.

I have no choice but to raise the $15,000 I owe to my parents by myself.

I feel ashamed at myself, for a number of reasons. For being afraid to ask for help, for being lazy, for not really having enough love in myself...

I feel now like the only reason why I wanted to become a Game Designer was to make my Mom happy that I was doing something, so that she would leave me alone.

Where did my love go? Where did my passion go?

All the ambition I have now is just to stay at home, watch TV and play games all day...

I feel like what I really need, now of all times, is someone to love other then myself. Someone who I can share absolutley everything with. Someone who will make my life worth living again. I need someone who can make me happy so that I can make her happy, and become everything I was meant to be.

Right now, more then ever, I don't want to be alone.

Please God, give me someone to love.

There are a few things in life that absolutley terrify me.

They are Math, and my mother.

Today I had to face both.

My teacher told me straight out as I was struggling to finish my final that I simply could not pass the class. All I could do was put my hands over my face and dread the fact that I would have to tell HER.

As you probably all know by now, my Mom set down that if I failed any more classes, I could get pulled from the Art Institute.

I picked up my phone. Sooner or later she'd have to know. Better it be now then a suprise.

All I could think as I held it in my hand was, "God have mercy. God PLEASE have mercy..."

I dialed told her the news.

Afterwards I just had to lie down. I was spread-eagle on the floor of the empty classroom.

Eventually a security gaurd came up to me and aske me if I was okay. I said, yeah, that I was just really depressed that I'd failed the class and that my Mom was probably going to pull me out from the school. he asked if I had any way of making up for it.

So I told him that the only way my Mom would let me back in is if I can make $15,000 dollars to pay for the class I just failed.

All he could say was "Whoo! Lord Jesus!"

The only advice he could give me was to try winning the lottery. And with that, he left.

My Psycologist once told me that I have a sort of Math Anxiety thing. I dunno the exact terms, all I know is that if you ever wanted to punish me for anything, make me do math. I just hate it. The moment I see those numbers and letters my mind is immedientley somewhere else. I can't understand it in a classroom setting. When I have a test in front of me, all I can think of is that I would rather have meat hooks impaling me from all sides, ripping my flesh apart then be here doing math. I'd rather have my blood vessels all explode at the same time and make my chest burst open, letting my guts spill out then be here doing math.

I can't do it. Because I just don't want to do it. It's just horrifying to me.

I try. I look at the problem on the board as the teacher's explaining it and all I can see is what resembles a fish turning into a cantalope. And the nest thing you know, I suddenly realise that in the time it took me to realise I don't understand it, a billion other things have been written on the board and i've missed the explaination.

I get images flashing through my mind. I imagine a looming figure telling me over and over again "YOU STUPID KID, YOU STUPID, STUPID KID."

As for what I need to do, it's pretty much laid out in front of me-finish my other two finals, and then start making money. I can take this next quarter off, use that period to devote my time to trying to make money to pay the $15,000.

Everything has a reason, I always say. This is most definetley a trial that I had coming to me. No one to blame but myself. There's lessons I need to learn now in order for me to be a better person.

Just...keep me in your prayers, okay? I'm going to really need it.

As usual, I don't feel any different.

I woke up at noon, saw a sign that my family had put on the wall just outside my door saying "Happy 21st Birthday, Ryan!" on it, went downstairs and watched TV while eating Pork buns with my sister, (Who's visiting for the weekend) And now I'm here typing, just a little past 2 in the afternoon. Around 5 we're going to go to church, and then afterwards the family's taking me out for some Sushi, where Sake might end up being my first drink.

That's pretty much it...not much other then that going on...

I feel like I should drink something to celebrate...probably a wine of some sort, I think I'd be more of a wine type of person anyway. Of course, it'll be with my family. I'm not the kind of guy who'd go into bars or anything...

I finally got to try out Soul Calibur 4 last week, while I was at school. You see, we've got an Xbox 360 in the Student Lounge connected to a large flatscreen Plasma TV that's sometimes used to display announcements, etc. You can rent games from the Library and get controllers from the technology department. Anyways, one of the guys from school brought in his copy and they were playing it. I got to watch a few matches...and then the guy handed the controller to me. I chose Ivy, since she's been my main since 2, apart from Link, and I totally ROFLstomped my opponent and celebrated by taunting and kicking Talim in the head repeatedly. XD I was able to play again on one of the other days they brought it in. I'm thinking about getting the game and using the school's 360 to play it for now until I can afford my own.

I'm a little concerned with character creation, though, it seemed like it was a tad limited this time around...although this was probably because not all of the outfit parts had been unlocked yet...

My sister's started her classes again and so she's moved back to the San Jose university campus. Drom life looks plenty interesting, I'm glad my family's considering letting me try it out sometime soon...hopefully Fall or Winter quarter...

I almost forgot, my friend from school, Roger, finally was able to visit my place. We got to hang out at the mall with his sister and then we played a few games. I was given the opportunity to try out Metal Gear Solid, but I decided against it, thinking my Mom wouldn't like it...

I've been checking the requirements for Maya...with these, I'll be able to get a new laptop to run it-it'll have a tablet-screen, so expect my pictures to look pretty awesome once I get it! It'll help out a lot with creating the sprites and environments for "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter". Plus I'll be able to do my 3D homework at home. Instead of having to stay at school for long hours...

So, I went to Lucasarts yesterday, this time for real.

It was Friggin' awesome looking around in there. The amount of talent that's put into the artwork there is incredible, truly inspiring. My teacher showed us his office and some material from the new project his team's working on. I can't say what it is, but let me just say that it looks and sounds incredible, I hope they're able to get it green-lighted...

Today, I got to go to a Rennaisance Faire at Golden Gate Park. It's really interesting walking around and being immersed in history like that...seeing so many people in period-style costumes and carrying items and weapons that were really used at the time, and people acting like they really were from that era. I had fun visiting the shops, especially the armories. A few of the swords being sold were replicas from movies, like from Chronicles of Narnia and 300.

I ended up purchasing a pair of wooden swords and a working mini crossbow.

You can see that I've posted a bunch of pictures that I took while there already, I'll be posting up a video as well soon.

Yeah, THAT Lucasarts.

My Teacher for my Survey of the Games Industry class actually works for Lucasarts, and he decided to take our class on a field trip to visit the studio! He even implyed George Lucas himself will be there!

It's awesome that I'm going to be visiting a real, professional video game development company and see what the working environment is like firsthand.

I''ve got my camera with me, so I'll be sure to take some pictures and post 'em.

EDIT: WHOAH CRAP...Awkward story to tell...

After taking several uncomfortable bus rides through parts of San Francisco I'd never been to before, I was able to arrive at The Presidio, where LucasArts is located. After walking around lost for some time trying to find the building, I finally was brought up to the lobby by a friendly security gaurd. The famous Yoda fountain was there.

Inside the lobby there's a bunch of Star Wars stuff, including props from the Star Wars movies and some statues of famous special effects artists and posters of old horror and monster movies.

I was suprised to learn that the guy sitting at the reception desk was a former student of Ai. He even showed me his old student badge.

I didn't know where the rest of my class was, so I asked if they could contact my teacher at his desk.

After waiting for a few minnutes my teacher showed up, and told me something I really wasn't expecting...

The trip is NEXT WEEK. Not TODAY.

Heh...so I ended up leaving. At least I know the route going to there now so I can take it again next Friday...At least I got a few pictures of the Yoda Fountain...I'll post 'em later.

I'm going to try to stay away from posting any more renders of Zero Suit Samus for awhile. I kinda went overboard with 'em, I guess. Plus, there are a lot of people who are complaining that I'm degrading the character and that Samus should be portrayed more as a badass character. When I get to the 3D animation project I'm doing for school I plan to reflect Samus' real personality there as well.

One of the guys who's ripping the Brawl models says he's creating a porgram that will allow people to rip the characters themselves, which I'm interested in trying out.

Our base of operations for now on regaurding the game is now Ishara's site:

We will be making our discussions there. I'll be posting as frequently as I can regaurding the project. All members of the team are encouraged to join the site so the development process can move forwards in a faster and smoother fashion.

I have decided to move the game back to 2D, for a number of reasons. All the details will be found on the Ishara Comix site.

has created our new 2D engine which has some better physics then the original demo. I'll see to it that the engine demo is made available soon on the site.

We'll be communicating via Skype. This allows us to talk about the project in real-time while being able to send files to each other instantly.

My first priority is seeing that the engine, controls, etc. are all created first. After that we will concentrate more effort on creating the environments, etc.

In other news, you can tell I've been having way too much fun with the Zero Suit Samus model.

Manipulating characters around in 3D is awesome fun, and it's great for making pictures with because all I really need to do is pose the character.

I want to get Selene rigged soon so I can do proper pictures with her like I have with Samus.

Actually, for my 3D animation project in school I've been thinking about using the ZSS model. It would be fun and interesting...

I hope they rip the other characters soon. I'd like to get my hands on the Link and Pit models, etc. Hopefully they'll be rigged too...

And now for soemthing comepletley different. Today I decided to review an Anime show that I finished watching last night-"Witchblade".

I first found out about Witchblade many years ago in Las Vegas. We were staying over at the home of a friend of my mom's. On her son's door were a number of stickers and images from various comic books, one of which caught my attention. It was, as I found out later on, the cover of a crossover between Spawn and Witchblade.

In my adolescence, I was, of course, captivated by the character. XD I wished I knew more.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I finally did a search on the internet for this beautful character and learned about the story behind it all, of a legendary weapon that bonds only to strong women from throuout history, such as Saint Joan of Arc.

I kept track of the series from a distance, a bit embarassed to be assosiated with it. You could say I've been a closet fan.

Then I found out about the Anime. Turns out the company that made the orignal comics was working to create an show based off their series.

I decided it was finally time to check things out for myself. When the whole series finally appeared on Youtube, I sat down and watched it.

Let me say this right from the start: I loved it. Every bit of it.

When I look at the entire 24 episodes, I see beauty. Sheer, brilliantly pure beauty.

The anime takes a different route on the basic story from the original comics, which is not a bad thing at all. In fact, I think it really hightened the sense of what was going on and made the emotions greater. Masane Amaha, a single mother with her daughter Rihoko, move to Tokyo six years after a devestating quake destroyed the city and created a post-apocolyptic world, which is a common theme in anime-Japan is, after all, is a post-apocolyptic nation, having gone through the Nuclear Bomb. Masane and her daughter are on the run from Child Welfare, who deem her as inapropriate for raising Rihoko. Masane soon discovers she posseses the Witchblade, the most powerful weapon on the planet, said to have existed since the dawn of time. A large corporation known as the Doji Group offers to help Masane control the Witchblade, and in exchange they offer her a job exterminating the X-cons, a bunch of collection of war machines disguised as humans that are scattered throughout Tokyo. At the same time, another organization known as NSWF (not to be confused with the term NSFW) is trying to take the Witchblade for themselves, believing to be the true owners of its collosal power. Despite the enormous dangers that threaten her life, Masane plunges into battle, all for the sake of providing for her daughter.

At first, one could see the anime's insanely proportioned characters and their highly revealing outfits and think this is just another fanservice-y type anime. And to be honest, yes, it is quite that. However, underneath it all, the anime has an incredible amount of heart behind it. The emotions running through this series is tremendous and real. You truly feel the love Masane has for her daughter, and the pain that she feels as she struggles to make a living.

In the end, this anime stands as a triumphant testement to the pure and overwhelming beauty of the undying love shared between a mother and her child. I'll admit-this series brought me to tears. It changed my outlook on life a bit and made me think hard about my role in this world as an artist.

There's a saying in the Catholic faith-"The Sacrement is Perfect". It essentially means that no matter how twisted and corrupted the world gets, the beautiful truth will never be altered. I like to think that this saying can be applied to this show-on the outside, the show is twisted, brutal, and sexual, but once you look closely you can see that it also holds something deeper and more meaningful-an awe-inspiring work of art.

This heartfelt, emotional rollercoaster is a wonderful, breathtaking experience, and I highly reccomend it.

I'm officially stating that "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter" will now be a 3D game.

I've been going over other games made in Gamemaker on Yoyogames.com, and I've seen a few decent 3D games. I think we can certainly do it.

Since I have night classes this school quarter I can go there early and use their computers to create stuff for the game. They've got plenty of resources I can use-computers with Maya on them, Photoshop CS3, Wacom Tablets for rental, etc.

I've also been reading up in my book on Game Development so I have a better idea of the development process and what we should be doing.

I've also been capturing plenty of textures with my camera for use in the game. Plenty of stuff from my camping trip, some stuff from art books I have, etc.

We also now have a deadline. Normally I absolutley hate deadlines with a passion, but since I'm trying to be proffessional about this I'm going to have to start making changes. We will do our best to have the game finished in two years' time. I first started wanting to develop this game back in 2004...it's taken far too long and it's time to start working for real if I want to see this thing come to fruition. And, for myself and everyone else working on the team, it'll provide a lovely accomplishment to put on our resumes.

E3 is going on, and we pretty much have confirmation that new Zelda games for the Wii and DS are in the works, but so far no trailers or anything...

Nintendo's revealed a new perhiperal called the "WiiMotion Plus" that enhances the remote's motion-sensing capabilities to allow real tracking of the remote's postion in 3D space and finally provide true 1:1 motions, which will indeed be awesome for sword-fighting games. The device will come with a new Wii Sports game called "Wii Sports Resort" and a saftey cover.

"The Conduit", a FPS exclusive for Wii, is shaping up to be one of the prettiest looking games on Wii, with a mervelous new engine which slaps lazy 3rd Party developers in the face: It actually looks Next-Gen, and is on par with the early Xbox360 games. The Quantum 3 Engine, as it's called, is available for other developers to use. (Meaning I'd really like to get my hands on this technology.

The Elelectronic Entertainment Expo's not over yet, though, so we may get more goodies coming during the next few days!

Given the fact that it will be impossible for me to finish making the "Litany of Catastrohpe" movie before November 23 when i haven't even finished writing the story yet, I've decided to turn my attention back to the Selene Game.
Anyways, I'm studying GAME design, not animation, so this will look far better on my resume.

I've decided to expand the team as well. So I'm looking for creative people who are interested in getting into Game Development to speak up and say if you want ot be on the team for "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter"! I need artists and people who are good at coming up with senarios and gameplay ideas. The four of us can't just do it by ourselves! Post here if you're interested, and tell me what it is you can do to contribute!

The game is now no longer a Zelda Fan game but will instead focus on the new original version of the story I've been coming up with-the game now takes place in the Republic of Arcturus, and will have Kirk, Father Derik, and all the other characters I've mentioned before in it making apperances.

My undying technology curse continues to plauge me. :anger: My laptop is seriously screwy right now. All I did was put in a CD to listen to, and I hear this wierd noise like it's striking something on the inside. So I pulled it out. Later when I boot it up again the bar on the bottom with the start button and everything is...not the way it's supposed to be. When I click on stuff nothing responds. It's even worse off then my first laptop-at least you can actually click on stuff and it works...even if it's for a few minnutes before crashing... >

So, I'm using my desktop computer, which I haven't actually used in forever...I'm starting to re-adjust to this one, and it's slight glitches. I'm so used to being able to take my computer with me that having to use just my desktop again feels incredibly restricting now. Plus, all my recent files are on that one...I have so many pictures on it, so many programs that I've been working with...I just hope that my leaving it alone for awhile will work to at least do something for that problem.

Seriously, though, it seems every single computer I've ever owned ALWAYS has some sort of radically bad glitch or problem with it. I remember going through two different desktop computers before this one, and dont' get me started on the horrific problems with my previous laptop...

Is it just my own behavior or am I just screwed somehow? Sheesh.

Summer Break started, one month off before my summer quarter starts. We've got some camping trips planned and I'm hoping to hang out with my friend Roger from school. I want to also try getting a new tablet, since my old one is apperentley broken, (Yet another Technology problem...) and get some new games and acessories for my Wii. I'm thinking about picking up Okami and getting a Brando Light gun or Nyko Sure-Shot. (Though I dunno if my Mom will allow those...even if I only use them to play Link's Crossbow Training...)

Actually I was thinking, if I ever started up making more "Pretention and Prestiege" comics like I used to back in the day, I'd want her to make an appearance, probably as a reoccuring cameo character. Also, I'd make it more based off myself and gaming in general.

But, with so many other projects planned currentley, that sort of thing will have to wait.

Speaking of other projects, I've come to the realization that setting the release date for "Litany of Catastrophe" on Nevember 23 was really just a hopeful dream. It would have been absolutley perfect, but who am I kidding, animated movied can take years to make, and I haven't even finished ironing out the story yet. Most likely I'll just do a picture and/or tribute video on Youtube or something for the Ocarina of Time 10th Anniversary...

In the meantime I'll keep working on the story when I'm able to.

My sister has a new boyfriend. I forgot to mention that she broke it off with her first one a year ago. My family's been joking about her exotic choice in men, though, because her first boyfriend was Peruvian, and the one she has now is Egyptian.

He seems to be pretty cool, though. Mom likes him, he comes from a religious family so we know he has good values. He's also known my sis for awhile so they know each other pretty well.

This show is made of awesome. It's frikkin' adorable.

I really like the format, it's unique-just the day-to-day conversations of the characters as they go about their days. The characters feel pretty real (Even with their chibi apearances.) Konata reminds me a lot of people I know...

I even have a desktop of her face peeking over the hills of the default Windows Desktop. XD

So I was visiting Gametrailers.com, right? I saw a trailer for a game coming to PC and Xbox360 called "Venitica"

Visually, it's pretty impressive. It looks great, right?

But if you look through the comments, you can see that people are saying hte graphics are horrible and they're comparing it to Gamecube and PS2 graphics.

Needless to say, this infuriates me. Are these guys @#%^ing blind or something?! Does everything need to look so explosively ultra-super apocolyptically good in order for it to be presentable?!

Let me jut lay down something, alright?

Say you're into chess, right?

Needless to say, you don't want to play on a board made of crummy, splintery driftwood you found wet and half-sunken into the sand with crudely cut rocks for pieces.

At the same time, you don't need a diamond-encrusted silver board with solid gold pieces made by the finest crafstmen in the world. Sure, it would be nice to have one, but do you really need all that just to play a game of chess?

All you need is a decent wooden board and some decent wooden pieces. That's all there is to it.

Nowadays we're so wrapped up in things like storyline, gigantic environments, and graphics, and all this other stuff that we forget what exactly a game is.

A game is a game, just like baseball or chess, or simon says. Needless to say, it would be a catastrophe if you invited a complete idiot to play "Duck Duck Goose." It would also be impractical to demand that you can only play if Jessica Alba tags you.

Another comparison-When you want to impress your date, you don't want to come in driving some old junker. But you don't exactly need a Ferrari to go to pick up the groceries.

The bottom line is: Making the game presentable is important, but remember that you don't need to make it technologically face-melting for it to do what it needs to do: to entertain us for awhile.

Or, summed up in one saying:

-"I don't need a solid gold board to play chess, but I certainly don't want to play on splintery driftwood."

Did you know that you can only have up to 500 favorites on Youtube? I found that out recentley. I had to go back and delete a whole bunch of videos from my favorites that I either never watch anymore or were removed by the users that posted them, etc.

I came to the realization recentley that Meta-Knight is badass and is made of awesome. I don't know why I haven't really thought of it before.

Gah! Why did I do it?! I had no idea it would do this!!!

My 3D model of Selene got ruined...and there's no way to undo it...

I don't have a back-up copy, I never got around to doing so...

To think all my work these past few weeks got ruined because I deleted the nurbs attached to it right before I saved it-I didn't know it would do this to my model!!!!

STUPID STUPID STUPID GRAAQAAAHAAHAAHAH

I dunno what to do...all I can do now is ask my teacher what the frick I'm supposed to do with a ruined model this late in the quarter...

I friggin hate this whole situation...

I finally sat down and started seriously writing out the summary for "Litany of Catastrophe". It seems pretty good so far, but I feel like things are starting to get a little confusing on my part...I don't think I have the ending all sorted out...

I'm starting to consider the idea of having the movie be 3D animated. But for that I'd need a team-my animation skills aren't that great...prime example of this here: [link]
I mean, I already have a bunch of the Zelda models from Twilight Princess, they just need to be imported into Maya. I still would need to make the models for the othe characters, though, like Selene and Prince Zack. (I'm already working on a Selene Model for school, I could use it for the movie...)

A 2D Animated one I'd be able to pull off by myself, given the programs that I have and the techniques I've been considering. it's just going to take awhile. It makes me wonder if I'm even capable of reaching the deadline I've set for myself-I want to get it done and on the Internet on November 23 this year, which is the 10th anniversary of Ocarina of Time. I figured it would be a fitting tribute.

At the same time I'm reconsidering the idea of releasing "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter" before "Litany of Catastrophe", mostly because not knowing what happened beforehand would definetley add a sense of mystery to the story of the game.

I dunno what to do...

Apperentley there was an anime made based off Fire Emblem back when the first games came out. It starred Marth, or as his name was improperly translated "Mars". The same voice actor who plays him in Smash Bros. is the same one who voices him here.

Speaking of Smash Bros. I was in a tournement today for the folks over at Knox's Korner Forums. I lost though...My opponent managed to grab his final smash just when we were both down to one life left each. Also I kept missing on my Final Smashes...I'm bummed out that I lost, but it was epic nonetheless.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl= win.

I've unlocked all the characters now, I think I've got one stage missing, though-the "75m" one.

Subspace Smissary was fun. I was worried that it would end up being just like Soul Calibur Legends, but it was definetley more fun the Legends and works well as an adventure mode. I'm glad that the story has a suprising amount of depth despite the lack of any dialouge. (Apart from Snake's one line when he appears "Kept ya waiting, huh?") And having alternate versions of certain parts of the story is an intersting twist. I wish they'd gone a bit more into that and had several twisting alterante paths, though, that would have made it brilliant.

I'm trying to unlock a whole bunch of the stuff now, thank goodness for the new "Challenges" section where you can check to see what can be unlocked next, etc.

My mom's not a fan of my choices in character design. I finished my sculpture of Selene, and she wasn't really happy with the outfit.

There's one thing I really gotta let her know-I'm not making games for her. My audience has different tastes then she does and she has to accept that what I create isn't always going to make her happy.

I have this great fear that when I finally make an official version of "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter" she's going to flip out and try to make me cancel the game's release or something.

I really need to sit down and talk with her about it.

Speaking of that sculpture, I really don't feel like sharing it anymore. Why? Because it turned out horrible. The proportions are waaaayyyyy off. Her head's too small, her arms are to thick, her whole frame is overly-masculine, and the painting job is shoddy and rushed. (I rushed it becasue I felt uncomfortable having my Mom watching me work. The sooner I had it done and in its box, the better.)

Sorry to dissapoint those who were looking forwards to seeing it, but trust me, you don't want to see it. It's a disgrace to my character.

We're going on a trip to Death Valley next week. We're possibly going to stop by Hearst Castle along the way, too.

I'm excited to go, I love being on the road and traveling. I'm thinking about taking my Kirk costumne with me and get some pictures of me at the castle and adventuring in the wilderness. XD

Okay, so I sat down recentley with some of my counselors at school and my Mom as well, and we've come to some agreements.

I will be able to go back to the Art Institute, there's just a few very necessary errands I need to run in order to make it so. First, I have to finish the rest of the quarter and pass all my other classes, and I'm going to drop 3D animation so I don't get the bad grade marked down.

I'm going to get accomodations for the remainder of my classes now, as well as for next quarter, which should help me out.

I'm submitting a bunch of missing assignments to my 3D animation teacher to get his input on how I could do better so that when I try to take the class again next quarter I'll be better off. Also, I will have a different teacher.

"I've told you what this means, right? This means I'm going to get pulled out of school by my parents. I'm not going to be able to reach to my lifelong goal because of this one class. I'll never see the happiness on people's faces when they play the games I've worked on... I don't want my ambitions to end here, just because of this. But it looks like that's gotta be the way it is, huh? Halfway to my dreams only to get gunned down. I can't believe this. It's all my fault, really. I was too stupid. And now I have to face the wrath of my parents for it.

I'm sorry for inconviniencing you.

To explain, here's what's happening.

I've been going to the Art Institute of California in San Francisco majoring in Game Art and Design, right? A little while back I failed a class and my Mom got angry. Basically, if I were to fail one more class, she would pull me out.

Well, I recieved an E-Mail from my teacher saying that at this point, I will not be able to pass my 3D animation class. Therefore, I am leaving the school.

My plan now is to just look for a job for now and try to pay back the school loans I wasted. And since Ai is a private school, you can tell it's a metric buttload of money that I owe.

So, for now, I'm going to just finish the rest of the quarter the best I can and try to go out with a bang. At least I'll have learned what I can.

Eventually, when I earn enough to go back to school, I'll take the class again. Next time, though, I'll be sure not to get the same 3D animation teacher. Both the tutors I got told me the moment they found out whose class I was in that I should get out right away. I would have, except pulling out would have also counted as a fail.

This is a major setback for me, but I have no intention this dream of mine die. I'll be back, and when I am, I'm going to make my ultimate dream come true-

Recentley I posted some of my art on some of the other sites I go to.

Following that was a strong amount of heavy criticism of my work.

"This looks horrible"

"You draw like a 8 year old"

etc. etc.

Now, under normal circumstances I'd be angry, yet I wasn't. Why? Because they were actually right.

I took a look at a portfolio I created for one of my drawing classes, and I took a closer look at it.

While the comments were good, the ratings implied that my work was below industry standard.

Below. Industry. Standard.

Is that the mark of a future master game designer? NOOOOOOOO.

I decided to take these criticisms as a challenge. A challenge to better myself as an artist.

And so I created my recent picture of Selene standing before St. Zavier Cathedral.

A lot of my critics were impressed.

So what does this mean? It means that from now on I'm going to be doing things a little differentley. I'm going to try stepping out of my comfort zone and using new and better techniques. I'm going to dust off my old tablet and I'm going to try using it for my drawings. I won't be using my technique of tracing my linework with the line tool, instead I'll be using my original pencilwork and I'll be coloring that instead.

I look forwards to seeing how my work improves from here.

Hey there everyone, I just want to say that, after a long time stalling on it, I've decided to officially say that Selene: The Prodigal Daughter is on Hiatus.

I know that it already is on Hiatus, but I just want to make it official.

My main reasoning is because I've been ignoring my other two stories, New Hyrule Order and Litany of Catastrophe for awhile now. I've been working on NHO for litterally years, and now, when I look back at it, I just don't like it anymore. I'm sick and tired of having this nagging note in the back of my ind that I should go back and finish that story, which I haven't added anything new to since freakin two years ago. Plus, I've re-thought the way "Litany of Catastrophe" (Formerly "Heralds of Oblivion") would play out-it is no longer a sequel to NHO, but now takes place some time after Twilight Princess.

So what does this mean for NHO? It means I've dcided not to finish it, because I hate it. I started writing the story during a very wierd time in my life, as implied by the idea in the story that being intolerant was virtuous. I no longer believe in that crap and I have no intention of being an intolerant little prick ever again.

New Hyrule Order is dead. But for those of you who loved the story so much, I'm going to write a follow-up which describes what exactly was supposed to happen after the big cliffhanger.

So why delay "Selene: The Prodigal Daughter"? Litany of Catastrohpe, that's why. I need to tell the story that comes before the game. It just makes more sense.

Fortunetley, I have already written out most of the basic plot of the story, so it's pretty much underway.

However, I don't want this to just be a story I write and post. I have greater vision for it then that...

If you remember in a previous journal, I mentioned that I wanted to make a Zelda fan movie. Well, Litany of Catastrophe is it. I want to turn it into a fan movie.

I've watched and re-watched Legend of Link over and over again, and every time I see it, I go, wow, they were really ambitious. And I want to create something just as ambitious. I want, and I need, to make something big.

There's so much I want to do, to create...I want to be remembered.

I've always imagined myself getting interviewed, talking in front of people who are asking me questions and wanting to know about me. I've always imagined myself as someone in lights, someone everyone knows. I want to be an equivelant to Miyamoto, and by thunder I will be.

My ambition goes far beyond the simple life we live as creators of fan-based art. I want to make things that become books, movies, toys, games, I want m creations to have fanbases and for fans to make fansites about my work and write their own fanfictions and their own creepy pictures pairing up characters in ways that don't make cannonical sense!

I have HUGE dreams I want to be true, I want to go all out and make them reality!

I WANT TO BE SIGNIFICANT. I WANT TO BE REMEMBERED. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHO I AM.

(sighs) but enough about me talking about my ambition. (I use that word a lot more then I probably should now in my thoughts)

I'm super stoked for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, coming out the month after next. I also would really like to check out No More Heroes, it sounds awesome from the reviews I've heard. I could use a good game after playing "just decent" ones like Soul Calibur Legends and Darkened Skye for awhile.

Speaking of Darkened Skye, I'm still wokring on it. Since I play only about two hours a day on weekends with a cut-off time of ten o'clock, progress on games is slow now. And yes, I just said up above that it's "just decent". I say this because, quite frankly, it's a liscenced game, and as the universe has shown us, liscenced games are always in the mediocre range of quality.

But, I can't get enough of it. Why? Because of everyhing else but the game itself. The art and design of this game is beautiful and creative, it's just a dissapontment it all got put into a game. It would have done much better as a comic book, or an animated series, or something else. The characters are pretty creative, and the story is keeping my interest-I am actually unsure of what's going to happen next for the characters in reguards to the story so far.

I actually drew some fanart, becaus the characters are awesome and totally well done. The voice acting is top notch, well on the level of the great Disney movies of the day. By the way, I ca't play RE4 anymore, the disc broke. Plus It's a rule in our home now that games with heavy shooting and gore in them are not allowed. (Link's Crossbow Training being an exception because my parents like that game.) I may be 20 but I have to go by the rules, otherwise I get kicked out. At least it streamlines my shopping list. Ha ha. Looks like we'll be getting the Wii version of DDR after all.

I already beat everything in that game anyway.

Speaking of games, I got my hands on Super Mario Galaxy. AWESOME COVERED IN A CREAMY AWESOME SAUCE WITH CHOPPED AWESOME SERVED WITH AWESOME STEW AND A REFRESHING SIDE OF AWESOME. My sister's playing it right now. Something about a not-so-secret cave and a huge cylinder thing floating in space.

The vertigo feeling you get while traversing the worlds while upside down and sideways adds an interesting feeling to the game.

You know something I want to do? Make some movies. I mean actual productions. I've watched "Legend of Link" by Obsession Studios so many times I've gotten bored of it.

I've been thinking about it awhile, I'd really like to make "Litany of Catastrophe" into a Zelda Fan-movie.

It'd be a huge thing to do, especially with my own visions of what I want it to be like. Perhaps too ambitious...

I dunno. If not an actual live-action movie then at least a semi-animated type deal I'd post on Youtube.

I was planning on uploading some holiday art, but unfortunetley my Scanner/printerran dry of black ink and for some reason it won't let do anything else until it gets that ink. So I'm stuck for now. EDIT: I just finished watching the Christmas Episode of Supernatural on the CW website...it was the most epic way to end my December 25 EVER. Nothing like Brutally slaying a couple of Ancient Pagan Gods posing as a stepford-esque suburban couple with sharpened branches from their own Christmas Tree.

I've mentioned before that "Supernatural" is one of my favorite shows of all time, right?

Hi, everyone. You're all probably wondering why I haven't been appearing for the past two months. My grades fell a lot, and as usual I get my privelages for playing video games and using the internet unless it's school-related. But I've been working hard since then and for my efforts I've got my privelages back.

This quarter ends next week. I need to focus on finishing my final project for 2D animation, a 10-second cartoon. It's more difficult and time-consuming then most people think...

Most of the money I got from my temporary job at Spirit is going towards paying for school supplies. The rest of it is for myself to use. (Games, of course.

My Thanksgiving went as well as could be expected. We drove all the way to San Diego to visit our family there. There was still some light smoky smell in the air from the fires.

But oh, man...Black Friday was awesome. We went to a Fry's electronics with one of my uncles and got a ton of cool stuff-I managed to get A Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training and Soul Calibur Legends. I'll give my reviews of these games next.

Link's Crossbow Training-

The Zapper is an awesome perhiperal for the Wii, considering it's a plastic shell. It makes aiming and shooting a whole lot easier. While I do have some issues with the front trigger, which is slighty un-ergonomic, it works out fine. Link's Crossbow training is a well-designed intro to players on how to use the Zapper in all the sorts of light gun situations. I find it interesting that they re-tooled some of the events from Twilight Princess and incorporated them into Crossbow Training, such as a particular chase sequence, or even a sub-boss fight. Seeing the environments from the game with new twists is a delight. Each shooting session lasts about a minnute, and during the minnute you're scrambling to find all the targets before time runs out while avoiding obstacles which will deduct points. It's allways satisfying seeing a 5000-point bonus flash on the screen when you manage to wipe out a specific number of targets. Overall, though, I wouldn't go so far to say it's a perfect game. I would have liked it if there were more challenges, as things like the ranger mode and boss fights really open up ideas for possibilities with the Zapper. The game works as a good trainer for how to use the Zapper and proves it works well. I give this game an 8/10.

Soul Calibur Legends-

Oh my. I was so looking forwards to this game the moment I found out about it. The various aspects of the game intrigued me, from the story which fills in the gaps in the overall tale of the Soul Calibur series to the control style and fighting system. After playing the game, I felt it fufilled a few of those expectations, but unfortunetley "a few" is the extent of what SCL does. The story is a fascinating look into how Sigfried came to aquire Soul Edge in the first place, and reveals a lot about how a lot of the series's characters came in contact with Sigfried and how they got their weapons. Who would have guessed that Astaroth had once been Sigfried's ally? I gotta complain about the new character Iska, though. Don't let his colorful clothing fool you-he's downright emo and can be a tad annoying during his long talks inbetween levels about all the tradgedies in his life. While tragedy is not an uncommon aspect with the stories of the Soul Calibur characters, Iska kinda pushes it a bit, expecially when you consider what happens to him in the end. (No spoilers, though. It's important to the story.) We don't need constant reminders from him about what he misses, and we don't need him comparing Mitsurugi and Astoroth with his favorite donkey. (Yes, that's right, he compares them with a donkey. What the heck...) The game's cinematics are mostly text-based, which is something I had a slight issue with in Soul Calibur 3, and still is an issue now. I wish that Bandai-Namco would put more effort into making more actual cutscenes. The game does have some excellent FMV cutscenes, though, and when the game does show them, they're brilliant. These cinematics are definetley the direction I feel the series should take. Now onto Gameplay. Each level has the exact same goal-eliminate all the enemies. There are some puzzle elements, of course, such as hitting a switch and jumping on or off stuff, but there's not much variety from there. SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL UPDATE

-Yes, it's been delayed. Peh. But, with it comes a stream of all-new material to make the game mega-super-mondo-uber-awesome! They have a level editor now, so you can build your own levels and play on them against friends, etc.

It sounds totally epic.

This last Saturday was the one of the busiest days ever at my job at the Spirit Halloween store, and by far the most chaotic. It was a freakin' war zone. People ripping costumes off the walls, junk on the floor, yelling and shouting, angry customers complaining about missing parts and store policy, people stealing stuff, customers trying on costumes outside of the dressing room, etc. At least I got to try on my new costume I made in the store, which was pretty cool. You'll see pictures of it soon.

Speaking of which, We were originally planning to go to the Castle in Napa Valley I've been obsessing over, "Castello Di Amorosa", this last Sunday, but it didn't happen because Dad wasn't ready. I was hoping to bring the costume along and get some epic shots of me in the full knight outfit in the castle. But, we are trying again for this next weekend, if all goes well. Dad just needs to get his rear in gear and put the Nortap plane together so we can use it when we get to the castle.

The contest was inspired by MY NEW JOB!!! Yes, I finally managed to land myself a new job, I'm working at the "Spirit" Halloween store now at the San Mateo Expo Center. It's a bit easier then I thought it would be, and I get to look around at all the cool costumes and props they have. I think I'll be able to pick up some materials for my costume here...

...did I mention we stock an axe prop that looks almost like Selene's axe Lunarok?

After much debating ever since the game was first unveiled, it has finally been confirmed with a video released on the SSB Dojo site!

Before I was a Zelda fan, I was a Sonic Fan. The Sega Genesis was the very first console I ever owned, and the first game I ever owned for it was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I was obsessed, I used to read the comics all the time and draw pictures, too. My interest in Sonic has begun to fade over the years, but having an old favorite of mine in Brawl brings a smile to my face. I just can't wait to play this game!

-There is some concern, though: it appears that SSBB may be delayed until next year. While it is confirmed that the delay will affect Japan, it is still not clear if this is the case with the US as well. Keep your fingers crossed, friends...

Two weeks ago Knox and Jason announced on Knoxkast Radio, their Internet Radio show on iTunes, that they will be ending the show on the 75th episode. The reason why is because they figured that by now they would have made the show much more structured and professional, but that seems to have not come to pass.

However, they will be starting a new show after Knoxkast called "Chaos Pony", which will be much like Knoxkast but much moe organized, etc.
