Wow, I have just kind of not paid any attention to DA lately except to search for fanart (as you can see by my overflowing Favorites). Sorry! I'm trying my best to stop being tired and lazy and get around to reading all my messages and check all my deviations. As for art from me, maybe you'll see some soon. I haven't really drawn anything I consider "DA-Worthy" lately, but maybe I'll post up some scraps.

Where have I been? Well, I got Sims 2 Bon Voyage for my birthday last month, and maybe a week after that my brother got Sims 3 for his computer (because mine couldn't run it), so most afternoons you can find the two of us in either one of our rooms, playing Sims and giggling ridiculously. Also I've been laying around engrossing myself in reading yaoi manga, drawing Harry Potter characters, and watching Simpsons DVDs. Speaking of Harry, I saw the movie on opening day! I won't say too much because I know not everyone has seen it, but I enjoyed it immensely. Even though there were some major scenes in the movie that weren't in the book, I liked it. Unfortunately I can't quite grasp how they'll set up the seventh movie. We have not seen hide nor hair of Fleur since the fourth movie, and we never met Bill at all (except that picture of the Weasleys in Egypt at the beginning of movie 3, but that doesn't count). How are they going to have a wedding?! And when is Movie Remus going to take a chill pill and stop screaming at everyone?

No, this entry isn't about losing weight... unless it's my DA account we're talking about.

I'm seriously taking into consideration the idea of whittling down my gallery here. Out with the old? I have a lot of pictures that won't seem to load properly, or that I don't like anymore, or that I think I could have done a better job on. Also there are photographs, sketches, and scribbles that really don't need to be here. I'm still thinking about it (it's a lot of work! 300+ deviations and I'd have to delete every undesirable individually!), so it won't be happening anytime soon. Feel free to comment and share your thoughts.




On another note: Certain DA members have been telling me that my art is "gay", and I'm a "f**king homo" for drawing the things I like to draw. Well. One of these so-called individuals commented on four of my pictures to tell me this, which leads me to the question - why did he or she bother at all? If you don't like what you see, you don't have to comment or continue to look at my work. I think that's what stumps me the most - why did this person keep looking at my art after disliking the first piece? And please don't get me started on the derogatory ways this user referred to homosexuals. C'mon, everyone - can't we have some tolerance and some good judgement here?

It's in a foreign language, so I can't read what it says, so I don't know their reason for displaying it. If they're claiming it as their own, that is REALLY not cool! NEW COMPUTER! I am happy. Last Tuesday I ordered a brand-new computer from the Apple store, and it arrived on Friday. I'm so happy wih it, now I have high-speed internet in my room, and iTunes, and a webcam, and a new scanner, and all kinds of pretty things that I either didn't have before or had to go downstairs to use, so access was limited. The new computer is a 17-inch iMac with the dual-core Intel processor (to run Mac and Woindows, but I'm not befouling this lovely machine by installing windows). Ooh! And it had a webcam, too. (I already said that. ) So I can take pictures of my room, and of fun stuff that I own, so I can show everyone! Maybe, if you're lucky, I'll take a few pictures of myself.... but that would require putting on funky outfits... :/ okay.... I'll take pictures when no one else is home, with my shades closed, so that no one will see me wearing things like fishnet armwarmers and striped stockings and short skirts... O_O Not that I'm taking porn pix, or anything.... it's just that some outfits I'd like to take pictures of myself in are generally the kind you'd only see at, like, concerts... the kind of clothes my parents hate...

Well, it's not likely I'm going to take pix of myself anyway. And even if I do, the quality won't be fantastic, since it's only a little webcam I'll be using.... Whatever.

Also, I recently got my grubby otaku mitts on the entire Wedding Peach DVD series for only $45. I got it used at Strawberries'. Sweet deal, I got the whole show AND the special 4-episode "Wedding Peach DX" OVA for about as much as two of the DVDs would have cost in the store. Let's see, 10 DVDs x $30 each... ugh. Not to mention I've never seen Wedding Peach DX anywhere. And for those of you who say "Oh, Wedding Peach is just a Sailor Moon rip off", shut up. I enjoy BOTH series. And since it would cost me a LOT of money to get the other four seasons of Sailor Moon that I don't have (especially SailorStars, which never made it to America), Wedding Peach was the financial winner.

The Concert Review/Recap Chronicle

(It was supposed to be a review, but it became monstrously long....)

Well. Quite the adventure was had by moi and Candis. Quite the adventure indeed. It was full of firsts, like my first Nine Inch Nails concert, my first overnight trip to Boston, and my first time yelling “FUCK!” in the middle of a crowded parking lot...

It all started at the train station in South Attleboro, where we would catch the train heading to Boston. I was informed to park my car in a numbered parking space. BUT THERE WERE NONE. They were all taken! But we found some near Home Depot and Kmart. So we parked near Home Depot. Then we paid for two days’ parking. Keep this in mind, it will come in handy later.

After buying tickets, we had about an hour until the train came, but it was nice out, so we didn’t mind waiting (even after a speeding train went by and scared the crap out of us). We met two guys there who were going to the concert too (but they were Spiral jerks.... I wish I was a Spiral jerk.... as soon as I get $60 I’m SO joining....). Then the train arrived. It was a nice ride up, even with the depressing view of Attleboro (come to think of it, I find most of Massachusetts depressing....). We got off at South Station in Boston, where our itinerary told us we’d have to take the subway. We were supposed to take the Red Line route heading northbound to Alewife and get off at a stop called Center Square. Well, guess what? The train went right past our stop! We had to get off in Harvard and get on another train going back the other way to Center Square. Once we got there, we had to catch a bus at the corner of Green Street and Magazine. Well, at first we couldn’t find the stop, and had to go into CVS to ask directions. (The stupid intersection was right down the street....) Then the bus took a HALF AN HOUR to get to us, and when it arrived it was the MOST CROWDED BUS IN EXISTENCE. We were totally squished, but we strained to keep an eye out for the intersection of Arsenal and Irving, where our motel was. Well, no one on the bus knew where the motel was, so we got off at the Arsenal Mall. BAD IDEA!! We had to walk a MILE AND A HALF to reach our motel, only to find when we checked in that the bus stops RIGHT IN FRONT. D’oh! Well, live and learn. We checked in (the lady had to have Daddy fax a copy of his license and written permission for me to use his credit card), and got to our room with 45 minutes left until we needed to be at the concert (place opened at 6, we decided to be there by 4). We speed-dressed, and not wanting to risk public transportation again, called a cab. And we were on our way!

THE CONCERT

Well, the first thing we noticed upon arriving at the Fleet Center (TD Banknorth Garden now, but New Englanders (especially Rhode Islanders) have a habit of calling everything by its old name) was that we had no idea where to go. The only entrance they had marked was for the Spiral jerks. Well, we asked a guy selling train tickets where we should go, and he pointed out the escalators (which were fenced off). So we had an hour and 45 minutes to wait, spending it wandering around the place hopefully, in search of a stray band member. Then it opened, and we were some of the first in line! We had to throw away our glowsticks (the band doesn’t like stuff thrown at them.... not that I was going to throw it). We headed straight for the souvenirs and waited for a while (huge crowd). The stuff was way overpriced, and it was just t-shirts and stickers and CDs, and the only poster they had was the cover of “With Teeth” with ‘Boston, MA November 8 2005’ on it. (Boo! Why no posters of the band?) Candis got a long-sleeved t-shirt with the logo on the front, I got a t-shirt that looks like the cover of “With Teeth”, and we chipped in to buy Laura’s birthday gift (it’s a surprise, so I’m not telling you what it was). Off to our seats! Unfortunately, the guy Candis’ mother knew wasn't THERE! So we couldn’t get up front, but we had pretty good seats as it was (once I get the pix developed I will post them. Keep your fingers crossed that they came out, ‘cos Candis’ didn’t). The first band was Death From Above 1979, who I had never heard before. Well, they were good, and what surprised me was that the drummer was doing the singing! Usually, you don’t see that... After awhile, though, their songs all sounded the same... Then Queens of the Stone Age were on (their act opened with that song “Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf, the Big Bad Wolf?”, WTF?). They were good as well, worthy of some headbanging, but they didn’t play “No One Knows”, the only song by them that I know!! (How ironic.) D’oh. But I wasn’t too upset, because next up was NIN!

Well, just wanted to make a last entry before I die... I'm so scared it isn't even funny.

Will not be checking my DA messages until Wednesday afternoon or possibly Thursday morning. If I don't respond after a month, assume I was killed in Boston.

I popped on over to Metallica's website Metallica.Com to see if there was anything going on with the boys, and... METALLICA IS GOING TO BE ON "THE SIMPSONS"!!! Finally, my dream come true! I've always longed to see my favourite band guest-star on my favourite TV show. There are pictures on the site of the band recording their lines, so go on down to Metallica.Com and take a look! (I can't wait to see their animated versions!)

Unfortunately, the article couldn't offer much info on what the episode will be about or anything, and it's not going to air until May of '06 (whoot! Metallica gets to be on the 17th season!), making it probably one of the last new episodes (if not THE last) before next summer. Woo-hoo! I'm so happy!

Now if only Treznor could be on the Simpsons too...

"Black". For those of you who don't know, it's one of my AU Harry Potter stories. And, I think, it is the best piece of writing I've ever done. At least, noting I wrote has been that good either before or since.

Today I decided to discuss it, just because I checked my FanFiction.Net reviews only to find "Black" was up to five hundred and eighty-four reviews. FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FOUR. 584. That is a large number. A very large number. Needless to say, I am amazed. I never thought this story would reach such titanic proportions. I mean, thanks so much to everyone who have read and reviewed it so far, I love you for it!

Eurgh. Friday was... interesting. Candis and I had decided to visit P-Town (Provincetown, on Cape Cod) to buy some fishnet stockings for the NIN concert. We got there with no problem and bought the stockings and had lunch and were very happy. But when we tried to get home... EURGH. We got lost AGAIN. We're always lost. I think we toured nearly most of Massachusetts and pretty much all of northern Rhode Island, getting more and more lost because the gas station attendants and Candis' dad couldn't give us decent directions, and my father's phone kept breaking up so I couldn't understand what he was trying to tell me... finally we ended up in Swansea, and found ourselves near Swansea Mall - where we've been a million times. After that, it was easy to get home. But it took us FIVE HOURS to get back! We left P-Town at 2:30 and didn't get home until 8!

But it was worth it. I tried my fishnets on and... wow. They make my legs look GOOD. I mean, seriously good. Better than I ever thought they could look. And they were quite awesome with my boots. Now I just need to find a skirt. I want to go kind of punky-grungy, and so I'm hoping to find a cute plaid skirt that I can pair up with my NIN shirt, the fishnets, and my boots. *crosses fingers* I need to get one of my boots fixed. The zipper doesn't zip. I mean, it goes up, but the zipper stays open. Sigh. I really hope we get tickets. If we do, rest assured I will have Candis take a picture of me all tarted up, so I can post it on my LJ... and if I get a picture with Trent... You know I'll post that EVERYWHERE! ^^
