I just wanted to send out a reminder that I will not be around this coming week from Sunday - Thursday. I am by no means ignoring anyone, especially those of you with pending commissions! I will likely have no way of communicating with the outside world as I am traveling with my family on a much anticipated trip to Grand Cayman (not bragging, I swear! Ok... maybe a little! )
I apologize in advance if this is of any inconvenience to anyone, I will resume commission work promptly upon my return.
Also- Happy New Year! I know I kind of missed the boat on the New Year wishes, but better late than never! I hope 2008 was a great year for one and all, and I sincerely hope that 2009 is the best yet for everyone!

Had a viral problem with my emails for the last week. Thing is, I didn't notice. I just kept emailing people and getting no responses, lol... I guess my emails have been falling into a black hole somewhere. Pretty nasty bug.
I THINK its cleared up now, got some geek help... should be working. However, if you tried to email me about commissions (there are a few of you out there currently) please resend. Individuals are also receiving individual notification... but I'll say it here too!
Also, the following week will be very busy for me because of midterms. Please do not be offended if I do not reply right away.
Other than that, the world is fine, school is wonderful, and I hope everyone is doing mighty fine!

I'm pretty busy right now, but I'm still wanting to be involved on DeviantART. I'm thinking about hosting a contest, maybe? I'd probably offer up a signed sketch or something and a subscription of some sort, and some face time on my Journals, but would enough people be interested in this?
I was toying with the ideas for "themes". Perhaps other artists renditions of one of my original characters, or some sort of themed seasonal thing like "Halloween Something-or-rather-more-specific?"
Any ideas on themes?
Any takers if I held a contest?

Hey all-

Sorry I haven't been around a terrible amount, I blame life.
I've been very occupied with work and my personal life and dealing with some family issues and loss. Coping is going fine, and there will be more work from me soon, I'm just lacking inspiration right now. I'm up for suggestions on things to draw as commission work is slow for a change.
I had a wonderful 4th of July and I hope that everyone else did as well.

Still working on Commissions! Huzzah!
However, when my DeviantART subscription expired earlier this week, my notes were erased for some reason. The glitch was reported, but I'm not sure if I'll be getting that info back. If you are still pending on a commission and have not yet received a sketch from me, please note me asap. I feel like I'm missing one person still, who I believe gave me the rare request for a male character (looking forward to it if I'm not actually just insane and this was never requested). Let me know!
Several commissions have been filled (check out the gallery!), some posted, some not. I've been productive this weekend!

Also, CA was great- a special thanks to those of you who suggested sites! Went on the scenic drive, to the beaches, saw the redwoods, went on the Monterey Bay Aquarium Sailing Trip, and altogether had a great time with my mom on our girl's weekend away!
Also, Friday the 13th is my birthday and its coming up fast. I will be turning 19. I accept art and handmade cards using dried pasta art! Haha!

Quick Update!
Summer does not equal time.
I have a full-time job as a Nanny this summer for a wonderful family. I absolutely adore them all and the job, things couldn't be going better!
However, I won't have as much time as anticipated for art- but I will still be completing and taking commissions throughout the summer months! So sign up if you want one and haven't spoken with me already!
Next weekend I am going to California for the first time, my mom and I are taking a mini-vacation to see the sights. Should be fun!

I recently made a journal concerning the orphan laws for artists... and I got flamed pretty badly in my notes.
I was simply misinformed, and people were blatantly cruel and rude to me for it. I had disclaimed at the beginning of the post that I was unsure of how something like the orphan laws could happen... but apparently that doesn't matter.
Why can't people on DeviantART be understanding that sometimes people don't get the whole story? Sometimes people make mistakes... is that really reason to swear at someone, call them an idiot, and then swear some more? I wasn't trying to sway any opinions... I was just sharing an article that was apparently old news.
I'm not going to lie: my feelings were genuinely hurt by the huge amount of flaming I got for a simple, small misunderstanding of an article.
I'm considering leaving this community... I'm not sure that I truly will go as I've met some very wonderful people here but there have been so many instances of people being incredibly rude and cruel to me, my input, and my art. I see this everywhere on the forums... comments... journals- people just don't seem to believe they should be open-minded about anything or any circumstances.
I just don't understand how people can be so cruel... maybe its because they don't actually have to say it to someone's face online- they're hidden behind text and a computer screen... but it doesn't make the words any less hurtful. I know its a cruel world out there and in all honesty I'll probably cause more damage than good with this journal in the long-run but what's with all this hate?

The only word to describe my life right now is "swamped".
Midterms, on-again-off-again problems with relationships, little to no time for friends or personal art, and no work yet for summer.
My spring break is pretty much bust already for the amount of work I need to get done for my animation class. Oi.
On the plus side, after I dig myself out of this hole I'll MAYBE have some time to do some art for myself again. And, talking to my animation teacher today, I might be able to get an internship this summer after all. He says my work is good enough and advised me to speak with the internship coordinator after he gives her my clearance (which I'm a little confused about but I think he may do after I present a portfolio to him) as I'm a Freshmen and don't typically get to be taken very seriously for internships. So... thats a mixed blessing: early attention is great, but I'm so swamped its going to be difficult to gather up and add to a nice portfolio.

I'm back! Maybe! Kinda-Sorta!
Its been hectic. I've started my animation course and I'm working on my first REAL animation... which is proving to be tedious and boring but well-worth it in the end. Its a metamorphosis: I picked the starting point (a turtle) and a classmate was assigned to give me an ending point (some goth-esque chick laying down in all this tape stuff o_O) Pretty extreme differences, kinda lame that I could only pick half of what I wanted to do, but I suppose that pushes me creatively. Not sure if that will be posted, maybe as a scrap once its finished.
I got my rats too! They're adorable- we named them Remy and Basil. They're so sweet, very different personalities and always goofy, just the way a pet should be.
So thats why there hasn't been much in the way of posting. I may get some scenery, story-boards, model sheets and what have you up here over the next few weeks, but I'm not sure there will be anything much in the way of my regular painty postings for a bit.
Aaaaaaand Happy Valentines Day to you all. My boy ended up on a noon-midnight shift on the train, so I only saw him for about an hour or so this morning, but best of luck to the rest of you out there. Spend the night with someone you love- doesn't have to be a boyfriend or girlfriend- it could be a friend, a pet, a family member... just share the love tonight, guys!

Hey again, guys:
Been a bit, time to update you all on whats going on!
FINALLY going back to school on tuesday- its been the longest break ever (not that I'd have it any other way!). I'll be starting my animation class with a teacher I've heard nothing but horrible things about- so I might be grumpy and stressed about that class and not be around as much, but we'll see how it goes... can't always trust everything you hear (or at least heres hopeing).
I'm also getting pet rats.
Yeah.
I actually WANT an infestation in my apartment!
They're babies right now, two girls- Russian Blue fancy rats that I'm getting from a rattery. I knew I wanted rats, but I had no idea that getting a rat was like getting a dog- going to a breeder instead of a pet store and all that. Its kinda cute in a weird, rodenty way.
I'm picking the pair up on the 2nd of February- got them a huge cage where they can climb all over and make a huge mess for me to grumble about cleaning. So hooray for stinky rat cages! I guess it gives me something to do! <3
And on a non-rodent note, I also wanted to thank you guys for all of the watchers and favs I've been getting lately: you guys really rock. Thanks!

I would like to apologize for my previous journals.
The past journal promoted myself for a contest that will now be left un-named. Other members of the club feel that this was an unfair move on my part and for that I am truely sorry. It did not occur to me that non-members COULD vote in a poll as I am not entirely familiar with the DeviantART site functions such as polls and my "promotion" was supposed to be a heads-up to watchers of my journal who ARE members of the club.
While I do not entirely agree that this gave me any sort of advantage (as other members have done the same in the contest, few seem to read my journal, and only one RESPONDED to my journal) I understand now that HAD I been a very popular and well-known artist that this may have swayed my votes in the polls.
So thats that, and I am sorry for any hard feelings. Again, it was only a heads-up to watchers of that club and to show my family what I was currently involved in (who are non-deviants and cannot vote).
In other news, I may not be around as often for an unknown amount of time, my grandmother has passed away (thats where I've been the last week) and coming to complete terms may take some time away from DeviantART and Artwork.
Those with standing commissions need not worry, I'll make the time for you all still.

Hey everyone!
I wanted to take this time to reflect on the past year. Its been an eventful one for me-
I've gaduated High School and started college as a 2D Animation major at Columbia College in Chicago- I've also moved into a gorgeous apartment on Michigan Ave with my boyfriend with a wonderful veiw of both the city and the lake.
I've learned a lot of valulable lessons about life and friendships, and I've learned a lot about trust- good and bad. I've made some new friends, as well as lost some, and overall the year of 2007 (while having its ups and downs) has been life changeing in a positive way.

I wanted to thank all of you who watch me, as well. Its heartwarming to know that you visit me often and look forward to my next piece of art. You all give me a reason to create, and for that I truely thank you.

Thank you so much for all of your support and all of your friendship.

Alright! I THINK I got out all the kinks... sorry for those of you who were reading my mess-ups. I'm so tired and kept hitting "Add" instead of "Preview"... Oi.
So this is my new journal look! Hooray! Just felt like prettying up my page-
So I guess I don't really have all that much to say. The reality of it all is that I really just wanted to start journaling in hopes of making some friends here. I do requests and get a few comments here and there but everything kinda falls through as far as friendships go on here. Please- don't be afraid to talk to me! I promise, I'm nice!
In other news, finals in a week- College is a butt. My finals so far have been pretty easy, and I think the rest will be moderate, but I'm not sure that I'm ready for it to end! College is so much different from high school- you only have 16-ish weeks to make friends and then you're thrown into the next set of classes and never see them again... and its especially odd at Columbia because each of my classes only meet once a week- so thats like... 16 days with each class.
Don't get me wrong though I AM excited for next semester (Not to mention winter break! PLENTY of time to work on my portfolio and submissions for the Columbia Gallery). I didn't exactly get the classes I wanted (as it stands I'm taking THREE history classes- yuck!) but I did get into Animation I. So hooray for that! Hopefully you can all see some of the crap I end up making. I'm sure it will be horrendous but I'll love it just the same.
Alright- I guess I didn't actually have anything to say- I just really wanted to try out my new Journal <3
