I passed the bag of messages and paper and pens around so more people could contribute, but I couldn't get them back to give to Neil myself, and for my efforts, wound up at the back of the queue. He did get the bag- I checked- but it was only after I'd left that I realised that I was short a bag of paper and six pens. (Queuing for four and a half hours and FINALLY seeing him put that out of my mind.) I went back to check, but no dice. I don't mind the paper- I've no use for that, but the pens... ah well.

NO, I'm not auditioning lah.

But I am making facesticks for taking photos of auditioners with them. Thus far I've got 'I'm the next Singapore Idol', 'See You in the Final Two', '3rd Singapore Idol/1st FEMALE Idol' (can we get a girl already :eyeroll: ) and 'Hey 8DAYS, I'm the Next Idol!' (with 8days logo). I need more. Mind suggesting some?

Or I could do more emoticons. Maybe some acronyms, like WTF or LOL.

So, yeah. Help a girl out?

Upon enquiry, discover that sister and friends made them. Further enquiry reveals that they were made for sister’s class’s photo-taking, and were sister’s friend’s idea.
Late April- cajoling of sister to be lent facesticks for own photo-taking comes to nothing. Finally conclude that new facesticks must be made.
Two posts to thequestionclub on livejournal; the first asks for suggestions of emoticons and includes a photo of the original facesticks, but gets few replies. The second has a poll as well as asking for suggestions and gets a much better reaction.
Early May- general apathy and procrastination about facesticks. Announcement of DA World Tour. Leads to reaction: ‘wow, that’s cool!’ However, lacking action on facestick creation.
May 7-12- reading of Sydney posts. No change on status of facestick creation.
May 14- reading latest post from Sydney. Scroll, scroll, scroll, scro- ohshitwhatwasthatscrollbackup! What the fnoop is that?! Quoting from the original post: ‘…a farewell meet prior to our departure for Singapore on Sunday’.

After general excitement and freaking out, settle down. Some thoughts of facesticks, but status of facestick creation remains unchanged.
May 17- buying of vanguard sheets. Uncertain of how many can be made from one vanguard sheet, hence the kiasu action of buying four. Flippant assumption that markers may be borrowed from sister.
No such luck. Sister says that marker inks were running out anyway. Decision made to buy marker tomorrow. In the meantime, draw four speech bubbles (using original facestick as stencil). Emoticons done are according to top three as selected by thequestionclub: O.o, ಠ_ಠ, ^_^. Fourth is the heart.
May 18- buying of marker. Marker used to bold emoticons. Procrastination by way of creating and posting in 50foryou on livejournal.
May 19- no work. Further drawing and marker, but only for four more. Unable at this time to recall order in which other facesticks were made. Procrastination by way of creating requested word lists for people on 50foryou.
May 20- No rush. Another off-work day. Even more procrastination by way of livejournal. Around lunchtime, eventually come to the realization that facestick creation should probably get going. Eight more speech bubbles and emoticons drawn, with reference to livejournal and deviantart. Waiting for sister to return home in order to request colour pencils.
Around 3.30-4pm, sister returns home. Am rebuffed in quest for colour pencils, with added comment by sister that her colour pencils are lacking significantly. Also am advised that colouring with colour pencil is tedious and that paint would be faster and brighter. Hence head out to Popular with sister in tow, this time on a quest for paint (and paintbrushes).
(minor note: sister still owes me $9.20 for her own paint set)
Return home around 6, procrastinating further as will be eating with hands and hence do not wish to get paint on hands before dinner. Eat dinner, watch Wolverine, start painting (skipping out on Red Thread- am updated by father who is watching and yells to me every few minutes or so). Finish around 8.45 pm, leave to dry. Begin cutting out and inking borders of speech bubbles on the single vanguard sheet that by some luck lacked coloured emoticons.
By the time said activity, along with attaching to sticks (left over from original facestick creation), is done, paint is dried, and cutting and inking of the rest may begin. American Idol is ignored as have not been following series anyway. Unfortunately, am not able to complete cutting and inking by the time Project Runway begins. Since have been following Project Runway, and am unable to follow today’s episode by way of father yelling, am forced to move to living room coffee table and do cutting and inking there. Occasionally get warned by mother not to get marker ink on table.
End up cutting out but not inking last few. Also have not attached some completed speech bubbles to sticks. Am ordered to go to sleep as it is now midnight.
Set alarm for 5.15 am in hopes that added time will allow completion of facesticks.
Try to fall asleep.
…
Can’t.
Keep trying for another hour.
Sleep.
May 21 (DA-DAY D: )-Up at 5.15 am. Unexpectedly energetic- perhaps bodily reaction to lack of sleep, as experience has proved. Continue with inking and attaching- unfortunately not enough time, so off to work instead.
After work, return home. Check email, deviantart, livejournal. Reformat files as requested by father. Finally... ]]> ~SLIgurl
