So far, I've had 5 presents from my family (big and small) and 1 from ~Kidura, all of which were very cool and greatly appreciated ^^ Perhaps the present I want to brag about the most was from my mother: Photoshop CS4

This was something I specifically asked for (and since it's so expensive, something that can only really be bought for something like a birthday), and I'm so happy, because now I can create some (hopefully) decent digital art, and try lining and colouring stuff on my computer... It's a very exciting development, art-wise ^^ And I wasn't entirely sure I was going to get it (since it's so pricey).

So, that was that I suppose ^^ Lots of love to those who wished me a happy birthday on here and on Facebook. I may be a year older physically, but for better or for worse I haven't aged much mentally for a while now ^^

Umm, so with a cosplay convention looming in just over a weeks time, I am (or should be) focusing on making that, rather than doing any art. I have drawn some things, both before now and in spare moments, but I won't have time to upload anything until after the event. So much to do, and in so little time!

SO... the last thing I mentioned was Kevin Smith, meaning I need to catch everyone up on both Expo and Halloween... which I can't really be bothered with, so I'll be brief.

Expo was awesome! SO many people and such excellent costumes! Sadly I wasn't able to finish my Link (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Adult) cosplay in time, so I was stuck in regular clothes for Saturday. It was interesting and nice to be back at Expo, but in short Saturday sucked balls. So I had an idea to make Sunday better. During Saturday while I was there I decided to buy a costume for the next day... and the Akatsuki coats looked mighty inviting. So, knowing that I had wanted to cosplay Itachi at some point anyway, I bought a really nice Akatsuki coat, 'scratched' Konoha headband, 'Fire' ring and his necklace. Costly, perhaps, but I'm not sure I would have ever been able to make the coat anyway, or the accessories. So when I got back home I set to work cutting up a black vest and one of my mum's kindly donated fishnet stockings to make Itachi's semi-net vest; as well as cutting up a pair of long white socks, short black socks, and then stapling them to the pair of cheap sandals I bought for my L cosplay... and voila, ninja vest and Akatsuki shoes. Aaaand I had some pretty good pajamas for his trousers 8D So, after painting my finger- and toe-nails black (when I bought the nail-polish the night before I forgot what colour it was... I bought blue and green because I thought it was teal, and black just in case.... and it turned out to be purple u_u) and drawing lines on my face, I was ready! And Sunday ROCKED! I met a group of cosplayers at the train-station (not my normal one as the trains were down... so, fate perhaps?) and fell in love with them, so i basically stayed with them for the whole day, and I don't think I've had so much fun in my life

Fast-forwarding to Halloween, and this is the first time I've ever done anything for the holiday... ever! So I spent it with my new-found Expo friends in their neighborhood, since mine isn't very big for festivities. The morning kinda sucked, but that was mainly due to a massive group of their friends and my lack of social skills, but the evening was much better. In the morning I went up in a casual cosplay of Itachi (seeing as that's the only one I can do right now), which was more based on which 'his' casual might be, not mine.... so I bought my first pair of skinny-jeans (lawl) and a grey shirt. Nothing too impressive with the shirt you might think, but when I got home I went about embroidering (I'm not sure if that's what you would call it, but it gives the right idea) the Uchiha logo onto the front... and it turned out surprisingly well! And comfortable!

Long-story short, I had an amazing time with my new friends... high-points and low. You would think sharing a bed with four girls would be a lot more fun than it actually was... hip pain from the crushed position I was in literally kept me up all night... and I kept on getting kicked in the face 8D Good times... Oh, AND I left all my candy there >.< So I never really got to have any... but other than that, it was great! I'm so glad I went~

So, "what's up now?" you might be wondering? Well... my birthday is tomorrow... I don't want to not be a teen u_u I don't want to be burdened by the assumptions other people will have of me based on my age. But there isn't much I can do about that... besides lie about my age... and I suck at lying. Also, there's some other convention going on in London, I think, at the end of this month... Collectormania, i think. My Expo friends are going to that, so I thought I might tag along too! And it wouldn't be fun without a cosplay, so now I'm hopefully going to cosplay Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. I've ordered a similar top (just need to remove the arms) and bought hopefully all the items I will need to make his shoulder-pads and leather belt/braces. My hair is about the right length, I just need to get it layered so I can make it spike out like his... and I'll have to make his sword... somehow. It'll be exciting to finish it all in two weeks

Also I would recommend two amazing games for any 'next-gen' owners: Saints Row 2 and DragonAge: Origins. The customization in SR2 is just incredible, and easily blows GTAIV away in almost all ways... GTAIV was too focused on realism to be fun, but SR2 hit all the right spots for me. but that's life!)

In art news: I uploaded the new Dirge page, nothing really special there. I meant to do it last night, but after just coming back from a long-weekend trip to my sisters I was quite behind on internet things, so I ran out of time to touch it up on Paint Shop Pro. God, I miss Photoshop. Someone buy it for me?

In art news, I have coloured the next Dirge page, and the one after is half-done. Since no one answered my serious question about colouring them, I've decided to carry on but with less attention to detail. Many new sketches have been created, as well as some good pictures on their way to you soon.

I haven't uploading much for a while, and when I do it's fairly spartan. (Madness?- *slaps self*) But I want to let you all know that I am currently busy drawing

Quite a lot, infact! I've only uploaded up to Page 72 of Dirge, although I currently have up to Page 79 drawn in one way or another. 78 and 79 are currently just rough plans (the first time I've planned before drawing a page o_o but that's mainly because I was on a long car journey at the time with nothing but scrap paper and a biro ) but 73 should be ready soon...

I'm still struggling with whether or not to colour these new pages... production will go a lot faster if I don't, but I have no idea just how clear things will be to you, the viewer. Colours play a big part in character identity with this simple style, so i wonder just how well it will survive without. I really need some feedback on this, so please leave your opinion in the comments!

My biggest project right now was given to me as a challenge by my long-distance Onee-sama, ~JennyGodin, to draw a combination of all my characters! Anyone that's seen my gallery will know that's quite a list, so I've decided to make it an A3-sized project based on Dirge. I'll be getting all the well-known (... to me, anyway >_> ) characters in there, as well as some lesser-known ones too... expect some premiere appearances!

I estimate I have around 50+ original characters connected to this story (which was kinda dumb on my part... I need to strengthen the core cast, rather than keep on making new ones... It's the Heroes-effect: grand ideas that I just can't keep up with), but I certainly can't fit quite that many on, considering how much space has already been taken up... so expect something more around 20. Still, it's probably the biggest project I've ever undertaken, so it will take me a while, even without procrastination!

Not only that, but I'm still trying to make my cosplay for the London Expo. It's my first ever self-made costume, and the first time I've ever made clothing for that matter, so it's quite a challenge! Under a month left and I haven't even begun on the real thing, just practicing on a mock-up. I certainly won't have all the accessories ready, but I might be able to go in the costume on its own... so wish me luck o_o; I'll need it.

So, I'm going to do a Meme. Although I don't know if you would call it a meme, since I'm kinda making it up right now. Never the less, this is how it goes: There are 5 spots (taking it easy to begin with), and for each spot I want one male character from any anime/manga/OVA/movie that you like. The twist? After being busy for almost the whole first week, she then completely went silent. Even now (an month later) I cannot contact her, and I'm extremely worried for her safety.

Besides that, I now have over 600 deviations waiting to be looked at. Why do I watch so many people? _-_
One good side to the holiday was that I had a lot of time to draw - almost filled a drawer's notepad from scratch, no less. These are only pencil and small, but there is some good stuff in there, which I shall try to get to you pronto. Also, I recently had the urge to ink, so now I have some older "proper" pictures ready to come your way (not coloured, but you should be used to that by now, lol).

In other news, I now have Left 4 Dead on Steam if anyone wants to play. I also have Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike, so tell me your username and we'll play some time

I got WANTED: Weapons of Fate on Sunday, for the 360. I finished it in 3 hours o_o; Still though, it's a really fun game to play, albeit short.

Sorry about that... I've been watching a lot of Scrubs lately, so I felt like summing up. It's just that with summer looming, the realisation that my future (at least for this year coming) is full of uncertainty, as I chose to take a gap year and have no plans.

Perhaps more on topic is my art situation. I have been drawing like a mother, but yet to actually really finish anything. Sadly my skill lies in the imagination of creativity, and not so much the refining process. I'm more than happy to draw something out in pencil, and if I really like it, ink the little bugger... but I always fall down when it comes to colouring. I can imagine you would be extremely bored if I had a gallery of black and white drawings... and yet I can't use my computer to colour things, so my only option is to use colouring pencils (oh yes, super-high-quality Crayolas), which yield less than stunning results. So I ask you, what would you prefer: lots of black and white, or a few coloured? Now I'm anal about 'perfection', so I'd try to do whichever as best as possible, but colouring well really does take me so much longer than any other part of the process, and I rarely get urges to do it. Please tell me your opinion in a comment!

Following this same trail of thought, I've come to a turning point in my storyboard Dirge: Chronicles of Midghar. I just coloured the first page of the new Scroll (the equivalent to season or series), and I have to say... I think the colour ruined it. When it was inked, it was sharp and clear, and while my style may leave much to the imagination, it looked 'finished'. With colour it now looks like a child's drawing, with bad colouring and simple characters...

Now, colour in the storyboard was always just about making things obvious. In the beginning, characters were nothing more than sausage figures (chunky stick figures) so colour was used to differentiate between characters, and to clarify between sky and grass. However over the years these characters have evolved, as have the scenes. Yuri gained the extra detail of seeing the shirt under the neck of his jacket; Maya gained breasts to make the femininity of her character more obvious to those who did not know the back-story; Birah... well, Birah stayed the same, although his character was made more obvious after suffering a chest-wound on page 24, leaving a jagged burn. All the other characters have unique costume traits, like Hagironi's face-mask, Mitsune's scar, and even the "unknown character" on page 68 (though you can work out who it is) and their hair. The scenery has also evolved from a simple line, half-green half-blank, to a detailed Hospital room (though granted the simplistic outside worked for a long time, since I decided colouring the sky would make the picture far too busy). It's because of these changes, that I've really started to think if colouring the storyboard is the right thing to do. These days I feel more like colour is spoiling the picture, rather than clarifying it, and while I can ink a page in one or two days it takes me weeks to get around to colouring them. So this is my second question to you, people who have seen my storyboard and who might even go so far as to call yourselves fans: Would you rather see colourless pages published at a faster rate, or continue to get coloured pages at the same pace as now? I would REALLY appreciate your opinion on this.

Getting back to the update though, there are now 6 new pages of Dirge: 1 has been completed and ready to upload, 1 had been inked, and the rest are pencilled. There is also a title page for this new chapter, which is in pencil. I would also like to remind you that this new scroll contains speech bubbles, which should helpfully bring the story together for those who aren't... well, me. To further this, I will be updating the Dirge description on here to hopefully provide more background information and descriptions of current events.

I have also been practising with other drawings, including fan-art, so for those of you who like that (and miss the old-days of my art), you will be in luck soon

Sadly, as always, there were complications and it's taken a while to find the scanner drivers, to get PSP working (although the scanning colour goes weird on it), and then find an alternate way of scanning pictures in. Photoshop is currently not working, saying there isn't enough memory to complete the start-up, which is an absolute lie.

... But anyway, just to let you know that I'm back and fully (or at least partially) functional. However, I need to remind everyone that my exams are coming up (8th and 11th), so I'll be (theoretically) revising and then sitting them, so don't expect anything for a week or so. But after that, I will definitely be catching up around here :3 I hope you'll look forward to it!

I just wanted to update to reassure you that I AM still here! I know I said I would update soon, but I've been awfully busy with finishing college, doing things, and recent drama. The main problem during all of this is that my PC has been taken away, yet again, to finally move things across to my new, much better PC! At the moment I'm stuck on this laptop, and it's super slow and don't have anything more complex than Paint on it, so I can't upload anything until I get my PC back :/

That having been said, I've continued drawing and (perhaps more importantly) inking pictures, meaning that there should be some long-awaited new blood in my gallery just as soon as I get my PC back (and reinstall EVERYTHING).

Not wanting to tease any longer, the thing I mentioned before about Dirge was that I've begun drawing new pages for the second 'series'. I know I said that was the end, and that I would begin drawing it as a proper manga, but I'm just not ready for that level of detail and effort... I thought that story quality over graphical quality should take priority, so I'm getting my ideas for the next seasons down on paper. The most important change being back to Dirge (still in its storyboard form) is the inclusion of text! My original aspirations for The Ninja Storyboard was to create a interesting, action-filled sequence between characters that could be enjoying by anyone who saw it. However, unfortunately something was lost in translation between what I knew was going on and how easily others could perceive this, often leaving most 'reader' confused. So now, Dirge will be written in English, with speech just like any other manga. I hope this will bring more interest to my work and make it more accessible to others.

So far, one title page, three pages and one full-page picture have been drawn in pencil, with inking to follow. New characters will be introduced, as well as more insight into the lives of the characters. This story arc is much deeper than last scroll (the name given to each 'chapter', much like 'Sagas' to Dragonball Z) which in the storyboard was just a fight with Hagironi and Mitsune. Without giving too much away, this story revolves around a certain machine being built by Darkness scientists that threatens the safety of the whole of Lightown. I really hope that you, my watchers, enjoy it... I'm getting very little feedback these days, which makes me feel like its almost not worth it

Besides Dirge, I still have plenty of photographs from my college projects, 'Landscapes' and 'Colour and Detail'. Also, I have a drawing request from a new watcher, which as just been sketched out, as well as older drawings that need completing! Please keep in mind that I have yet to finish my exams, so not much will get done until after the 11th of June - after then I will be completely free!

Long story short, I'll be catching up on things soon, but College is nearing its end, so I will be very busy with work and revision for the next week or two, so don't expect much up 'til then. After that, however, College is over... forever o_o; Finally! So I will have plenty of time to look at my outstanding 390 deviations, and upload many MANY pictures! I look literally hundreds of photographs on holiday for my project, and wile I wont be uploading them ALL, I will be uploading a few, so be prepared for a photographic avalanche!
As for those of you who prefer my drawings, you'll have to wait a little bit longer, but I do have a very special project underway... Lets just say it has something to do with Dirge

I don't say this to get sympathy, as barely two people read my journals, but rather to chronicle my reasons for not uploading.
In other news, my cat has a cyst on her eye, and had to have it buttoned up after an operation to remove it, which remains to be seen if it worked or not. Because of the meds she needs to take for her eye, she cannot take her arthritis meds, so she is stiffening up, and for a while now I've been feeling like she is going to die soon, to the point of checking to see if she's breathing when she's curled up. So far so good.

I can't cope with life. Since I last came on, I now have 73 new deviations to look at. Great. Believe it or not, I find that very stressful. Pathetic, isn't it?

So what with that, Facebook and a whole load of shit keeping me busy at home I've only managed to do a little drawing - I finished inking the second character on a page of two of secondary-character concepts for Dirge, which I will upload as soon as they are coloured.

On that note, I'm considering giving up on colouring my pictures completely and just uploading them as B&W line-art, because my colouring sucks that much and delays everything tenfold. What are your thoughts on that?

I would carry on to rant about my father at this point, but I just can't be bothered any more... I can't deal with things at college -or- at home. *sigh* Well, thanks for reading! In terms of my art I haven't been able to do anything for a while now, due to college work, stress and catching up on other things - like deviations. Things are very stressful for me right now, so I really apologise for being so sparse with my work and so infrequently online.
Many drawings are WIP, waiting to be inked or coloured. The most recent picture I drew was Kenji Umehara's ([link]) Hollow form. It's all inked and just waiting for some colour... I'll try to get around to that as soon as possible! As well as uploading some of my Photography project's pictures.

So, I shall continue to catch up on the deviations (after successfully catching up on the journals! Horrah!) and hopefully upload something interesting for you soon!

We had a great time at Wagamamas >D Chicken Katsu Curry FTW!

My parents got me something I never imaged for my birthday

... although I did guess when I saw the size of the box and the dvd-case size box with it. It was a Wii! O_O I had hinted wanting one, as a means of exercise (yeah, I'm so desperate that the only way I can exercise properly is by gaming at the same time xD) but that was a while ago, and I never thought they would actually get it for me! I had already played on a friend's, so I knew what to do right away and played on it for a few days. Then my parents asked to be shown how to use it and they played on it for a few hours o___o Very strange experience. It must be the first time my father has ever played a video game, and the first console game my mum could play (I have tried to indoctrinate her a couple of times, but to no avail... not that I think she even tried). So, fun for all the family! Well done Miyamoto-san, you hit the mark! ... Next-gen graphics would be nice on a next-gen console though >_>

Anyway, it was around now that I started feeling sick. The next morning I felt too ill to get up (luckily it was a teacher-training day, so I didn't have to go in anyway) and ended up being sick and having diarrhoea every half hour for the rest of the day! So my mum gets back home around 8pm and decided to call the hospital to see what they think and they ask us to come in. The nurse tells me that I have Gastroenteritis and it will hang around for a few more days. Marvellous.
So basically I spend 70 hours in bed, not eating a thing with an empty stomach and missed the next few days of college. I've only really started feeling better today, 4 days later. Relatively short, but on the first day it felt like I had Appendicitis again.

So, my art seems to be moving again. I may not be finishing pictures quickly, but more are getting drawn (inked) and started (sketched), as well as my photography project. I've only uploaded two pictures in relation to that... but that's genuinely because I have only 'done' a few... and the deadline is in a week. Yeah, I'm screwed

So hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of me around here! Hopefully I still have a few people watching me to care xD

Geez, so many things I need to finish... some Fanart too, which is all most people seem to be interested in

Got some Full Metal Alchemist, Zelda and Naruto in the works... some of it has been for years now O-o I need to step up and start finishing things!
... It's such a hassle to scan A3 pictures though. Oh yes. A3. BIG Link. BIG Sasuke. BIG Edward Elr-.... well, not 'so' big.

Ed: WHAT?? WHO ARE YOU CALLING SMALLER THAN THE HEAD OF A PIN?!

No, no, nothing, no one...

Yes, I still regard DBZ as a classic. However I do NOT want people judging my art before they've even seen it through some misassumption brought on my by name/avatar.

So, welcome to the new me. The new 'SS2-Gohan' (unfortunately). People may have noticed a shift from art to photography... while this is not intentional, I find it quite a lot easier to upload photographs than to scan and upload drawings - especially considering the long time it makes me to finish them. I can't apologise enough for that... I'm very busy and suffering heavily from depression, so very little is getting done. I'm behind on my homework, coursework and reading for college, so drawing finds little time for when I 'can' be bothered to do something. But to be honest I don't know why I'm mentioning this, because no one actually cares about me on here anymore... too much inactivity has caused people to loose interest. Which is a shame, but I suppose I only have myself to blame for that.

Anyway, I would like to point out that the image in my avatar (and soon my ID too) is NOT my own work. It was a picture drawn by my close friend ~Mitsuko-Mitsukai for me, of the personification of my nickname: Moku. Long story. But please check out her page - she's amazingly fantastic... never will I know a better artist or someone who is so guaranteed to succeed.

In DA news, people are uploading deviations as fast as I attempt to look through them, so I'm still just under 200 pictures behind and around 30 journals to look through. Never has there been an activity so soul destroying, yet interesting at the same time. Got to love DA for that <3

Anyway, thanks for hanging around, if anyone (besides Saph) still watches me. I know, I suck... but if I get into the Creative Writing course for Uni, then hopefully that will jump-start my art juices too. And if I don't add a new entry before the 31st, Happy Halloween!

But I'm hoping my creativity will be renewed soon - I've sketched out a new picture already and continued on some older ones. I know I'm slow and I know most of my watchers must have forgotten about me because I haven't uploaded in so long... and all I can do is apologise. I wish I were more active, and I feel like I'm letting everyone down who's been kind enough to watch me up to this point. I recently bought Spore and it has hit a creative note in me (although I'm somewhat disheartened when I found my profile for the main game was unconnected to the profile I had in the Creature Creator Trial, so I've lost the fleet of creations I had on that account... they're still in the world, but just not attributed to me *sigh*) and I can only hope it will migrate onto paper, or by any means get onto DA.

I scanned a pen-sketch I did at college between lesions - a rough costume test and a selection of hair styles that could be found within Dirge. I will upload it very soon and add a link to this entry (because I'm that desperate for people to see I'm not dead) since it will probably go straight into Scraps.

My holiday was definitely an experience that I will not forget for some time:
* Plane journey there was delayed by 9 hours
* The friend-who-I-was-staying-with's grandma got sick when I arrived and had to go to hospital. This meant she had to stay at home while her mother went to visit her grandma, because someone had to keep any eye on her ill father. This made the environment very stressful.
* Throughout the holiday it rained a lot and was probably one of the worst summers Canada has seen for a while.
* A few days in I got appendicitis and spent 5 days in hospital (half the holiday lost), with mobility problems for a few days both sides. The hospitals fees cost in excess of 5000$CAD, but LUCKILY I was insured.
* On the last day of the holiday, my girlfriend dumped me online.

So as far as I'm concerned, pretty much everything that could have gone wrong, DID go wrong. However, I'm very happy I got to see all my Canadian friends again, and there were some great moments to that holiday too.
I'm currently feeling a hell of a lot better after the surgery, and I will be left with a scar over an inch long, which is kinda cool. However, after leaving my friends and my ex- leaving me, I can't help but realise just how alone I really am here, at home.

Anyway, suffice it to say I'm fairly depressed, so my artistic output will be down - I can't really be bothered to do much. And then I should be doing college work so... yeah, I'm going back to college soon too. Oh, and I think my AS grades suck, but hopefully they're enough to carry onto A2.

Anyway, my point is that I haven't drawn anything new worth uploading and I haven't written anything worth talking about (I have yet to finish the details on the "Tenchi" group picture [link]). That having been said, I am still working on scanning all my doodles and drafts for eventual submission after I blend them together into larger pictures. Also, I have completed what I hope to be the final draft for Hagironi's costume design (and long has it been due), which I shall upload soon. The reason everything has been so behind recently is the redecoration of my room. I was out of my room and living in the loft for about a month, at which time I DID have access to my computer and scanner, but has no idea where any of my drawings had been hidden anyway. Now things are getting back into order I have found most of my drawings and I can begin organising them again.

On a more personal note, I'm off to Canada soon for my summer holiday. I'm going on my own and am arranging to spend the two weeks in New Brunswick with my friends that live there. For a couple it's been 2 years since I've seen them and for others it's been 4. I can't wait to see them and it's going to be an absolutely amazing holiday - I'm a bit scared, but I know I will love it. Needless to say I'm going to be a bit busy with preparations until the holiday, then incognito for the duration. I will be leaving on the 1st of August and returning on the 16th. Perhaps then I will have lost my writers/drawers block and will resume my torrents of senseless anime fiction crap aimed at you guys. Enjoy

I'm also behind on looking at other people's Deviations, and I have another 56 lined up for me, so please be patient =]

Also, hopefully some people noticed my multiple comments about page 70 being the last of Dirge. It is now that I shall start preparing myself for drawing the actual form of Dirge, in full manga style. This will come out in inked black and white, to avoid the massive time delays colouring adds to the release times. However, don't expect it too soon, as I have yet to finish writing to prologue to the story you have already witnessed in the storyboard. Expect a lot of changes and a deeper, speech-filled, plot than the storyboard was ever able to give, as well as it being much better looking!

Until then, I hope you guys stay interested in my work and hang around for all the updates I make, which should have been done much earlier. (I've been scanning old pictures and doodles for hours, which I will upload to the scraps section, so please be watching that area... some of the pictures are worth it!)

Also, I have noticed that there has been very little interest in my work as of late. Very few comments are being made and I have deleted some of my newer works because of it... It's very demoralising. When I say very few I mean I usually receive a maximum of 2 comments, and the works I deleted received none after a few weeks. From this I can only imagine that from the 20 people that watch me, maybe only 3 are active, or at least haven't blocked all my updates. These are also the same watchers I have had for the last few years, the list not having changed since about the first few months of me joining. Is my work really that uninteresting or bad that I attract absolutely no attention? Am I required to submit A-grade works of fan-art daily to receive any outside interest? Do independent creations mean nothing?
...

Reguardless, I'm going to continue submitting my crap even if I don't receive any attention from anyone other than *zoro4me3 or ~LisaFeary. No, I'm not amazing. Yes, there are millions of others out there who are better than me. But surely my work appeals to someone else, somewhere.

I finished Page 67 of Dirge, but you see, my printer had been having trouble for a couple of days now - something about not recognising the ink cartridge. So today I go to use the scanner part and the stupid thing won't let me scan because there's an error with the printer part! So, I cannot scan anything new until I get the printer fixed, which could be tomorrow... or if not, then next weekend.

Secondly, I assume people have seen that I uploaded some poetry recently (apart from Zoro4me, who is away). I've had no comments, so I only imagine it wasn't very good :[ Any feedback is appreciated - not a great deal of toil was put into its creation - it just rolled from my mind onto the paper and required only a little jiggery-pokery to get it sounding nice, in my mind. Anyway, I was just worried I had no comments

But its nothing important - it's not like its the only piece I've submitted that hasn't received any! ^^

Thirdly, I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Mine weren't too bad ^_^ I think I have enough new reading material to last me until next year now xP Also, my girlfriend got me some great brush-style colouring pens which I will start experimenting with... and maybe, with a bit of luck, might improve my art a little ^^

Finally, Dirge related information. I've begun my 8th rewrite of chapter 1 of the story... Its quite terrifying how much time I've put into that one chunk of text... Maybe it will never be truly 'complete'? Anyway, this means that any kind of uploading to the internet will not happen at least until I complete rewrite #8 of chapter 1 and more so the completion of chapter '0', the events leading up to the first encounter of page 1. Never fear, regardless of how dead this account may seem at times, work is constantly going on behind the scenes... new characters being created, new plot lines, new twists... so much it seems impossible to get it all onto paper and in pictures. Granted my fan base consists of probably about 3 on a good day, but nevertheless, I do this for you!

I am conceiving the idea of Dirge in a proper manga format... and I have decided that I would keep it black and white, as to speed up production and maybe even 'authenticity'? I have already started plotting out an opening sequence but as I am still toying with my final character/costume designs (ah, the beauty of telling a story with just 'fat stick figure' characters) then I cannot really start until that is done. Work is slow, but it IS going on... provided my printer/scanner recovers, too.
I don't know if anyone remembers, but back in the beginnings of Dirge (formerly known as The Ninja Storyboard) it was originally spawned from my idea of merging my old love for Dragonball Z (look at my username... go figure) and my budding love for Naruto. After trying to write out these series' 'crutches' from my story and create it my own, and succeeding to a degree, but perhaps in the end all I have done is modify and merge all the stories I already know. I am inspired and influenced by everything I enjoy, movies, anime and manga, but I believe that I am just using the influences from these to enhance my own, core idea... perhaps my idea is nothing ground breaking, but I would like to think that it is mine, at the least.
Anyway, I digress... Has anyone noticed that it is just under 3 months until Dirge's its fourth birthday?! This is the date I first uploaded the first pages of the storyboard to DA, so its not the actual date of its conception, but rather the first recorded date. 67 pages in four years? Doesn't seem like much...

Anyway, I have spoken far too much for now, and I doubt anybody has actually read all of that... I hope you all had a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, once more. Thanks for reading, I'll be back soon =]

This has actually been kicking around for a while, and I hadn't realised that I hadn't uploaded it - good thing though, because I had to slightly change one panel recently for the continuity of page 67, which by the way won't be too long in coming now either.
Secondly, I inked page 10 of Dirge, so now it is much cleaner, crisper and hopefully easier to understand. Please realise that I have only inked and recoloured it, rather than actually redrawing it... so don't expect a huge difference.
Other than that I updated the Dirge Index and I'm now going to try and get through more of the deviations I need to look at!

I've been really busy with college and more so recently with exams.
I've been trying to keep up my activity by submitting some of my Photography coursework to DA, which seems to have not gone down too badly, which I'm glad to see. It's been ages since I scanned any of my artwork and I've got shed-loads to put up, but I just haven't had any free time recently.
I'm really sorry if it seems as though I'm ignoring any of you, which I assure you I am not doing on purpose. And I'm sorry if my lack of drawn artwork is putting anybody off - I will try and rectify that as soon as I can...

On other news, with money I got for my birthday I will be able to buy a new scanner/printer to replace my current printer and so I don't have to use my dad's old and tacky scanner (I'm replacing the printer mainly due to lack of space to have the two separately... as for the scanner, it will save me so much time having one attached to my PC, as well as hopefully being of better quality!) which will be cool. I can assure you that when I get it, the chances of me updating my DA account will be increased dramatically! good news for all, I hope.

For anyone that's worried I'm loosing my artistic urges, never fear! I have been drawing just as much as normal, if not a little bit more recently, so as soon as the scanner thing is sorted out you'll be seeing all of the drawings I have done since my last 'drawn' update! (Which includes plenty of weapon designs, for those that care ^^)

So, with that being said, I am slowing making my way through the deviations I have yet to look at... I had about 130-something and I'm down to 70... so I'm getting there. And thank you all who have commented so nicely on my photographs - It really means a lot to me, since these are my first real attempts at photography and printing. ^_^ Thanks again.

I'm currently inking and re-colouring page 10 of Dirge, to try to make it look a little bit better... Hopefully I'll be able to upload the new version soon!

My photography class is going well, I think. I'm really enjoying it and I would like to scan some of my prints to show you guys too! I know they're going to be amature since I both took and developed them, but I'm still happy with how they've turned out so far...

In my recent scanning frenzy I scanned about 15 pictures, which I will slowly upload over time. However, I haven't really drawn any worthwhile pictures recently, and those that are decent, aren't finished. This means that all my drawings are going to be uploaded straight in to my Scraps! This doesn't mean they're bad, as such, just small or sketchy and back and white.

Today I got my 9,000th page view! Thank you so much, everybody, for being so supportive and understanding... I haven't been the best DA'er recently, but I'm really trying to get things done behind the scenes, like with my Dirge script and such. I hope all my watchers will continue to watch me as I continue to produce Dirge pages and other drawings. Again, thank you so much for your interest! <3

The reason I haven't been around much is because the past 3 weeks have been extremely busy and I've been away or occupied for most of them, so the only drawing I had done was in small sketch pads. Now that I have plenty of time to myself, since College has finished and I have no more trips planned any time soon, I should find the time to colour, finish and scan a few more of my old (but good) pictures that have been waiting to be completed! Of course, some of my free time will be taken up with playing Okami which I recently got (and love), but not all of it, I promise!
Oh yes, and in other news: I got a girlfriend >w< <3

Well, I'm tired and I want to fit in a few episodes of 'Heroes' before I go to bed, so I'm calling it a night! Thank you so much for your continued support while I haven't been very active... I hope I don't disappoint you with my uploads! Thanks for reading <3

What I have been doing though is update the old "Ninja Storyboard" pages to reflect the new name change (to "Dirge") and updating the 'Artist's Comments' to explain what's happening on each page. On top of this there are a bunch of links at the bottom of each page now to help you move easily between pages before and after the one your on, as well as a link to the index! This is taking a really long time to do, so you had better appreciate it

Currently: = 01-25 - Updated
= 26-39 - Pending Changes
= 40-62 - Up-to-date

Also, I'm currently making myself a decent ID which contains original artwork as opposed to all of my ID's so far which have only copied art or cheap art made on Pain Shop Pro!

I've made many changes to the Dirge Index ([link]) by adding new sub-groups and moving things around. One of the biggest differences is the new W.I.P. section I added. If your not DeviantArt-savvy then you'll need to know that W.I.P. means Work In Progress, meaning the unfinished or uncoloured versions of my work. Anything that is W.I.P. will definitely have a finished version, so that's something to look forward to!

So far I've added two new characters, including the one inspired by ~zoro4me3-san and another who has a very dark history indeed. I've also added a coloured version of a previous W.I.P. and I'll be adding a couple more later! Thanks for waiting, I'm really sorry for not getting around to it for so long >_o

Ok, well I'm clearly mad... I just stayed up all night changing my previously posted Dirge pages (renaming, adding links to the others, spell checking, etc.), moving all the pictures from the Ninja Storyboard profile to here, adding the new Dirge page as well as making up the character descriptions for Maya and Mitsune! O__O;

So I've had no sleep and I've done like... 10 hours of solid work just for you guys!! ^__^ I hope you like it!
I still have to fix Dirge pages 15-39 with the name and links (and probably descriptions too), which will take a while, lol.

You have to write six things about you that not a lot of people know. Then you have to tag three people to do the same thing. Lets all learn some strange things about each other! xD

1] I have only ever been to one party in my life and that was only a few weeks ago! No one likes me T3T

2] I have over 100 games for the PC, NES, PS1, N64, PS2, Gameboy, GBA, Gamecube, Nintendo DS, XBOX and XBOX 360! - And I dont even play them that much O_O;

3] My heart has been broken 5 times! Do -not- have Internet relationships.

4] No girl has ever said she liked me (in that way) in real life, and meant it.

I thought i would just let you all know that there's been an important development in the Ninja Storyboard saga... No, its nothing to do with the current story, history or characters ... that's right! Finally, after it's creation so many years ago, The Ninja Storyboard has A NAME!

>w< Yes!! Although I've been playing around with the idea for quite a while and with the final name for a bit, I've decided to finally announce it!
The new name of The Ninja Storyboard is "Dirge: Chronicles of Midghar"!
I hope you like it

I found it to be a fitting name for the amount of war and conflict that seems to brew within this alternate dimension of Earth.
On the same point, I'm trying to think of a way to get my Dirge story onto the web, so you guys can read it, without anyway someone can steal it from me... any ideas? I could use the help!

In other news, i did a bit more colouring on the last Storyboard page (after all, it may have a name, but it is 'still' a storyboard and not a manga... yet), which i may or may not get done tonight... I'll try my hardest!!
On the same note, due to Dirge being named, i am going to delete ~~~Ninja-Storyboard~~ and return all the art back to this site. Two sites was too much for me to manage alone and i wasn't looking forward to moving the other 50-odd pages... u_u
I'll try to re-summarise the other pages so you get a clearer look at what's happening... but that will take a long time!

Thanks for your patience guys... i would greatly appreciate it if you comment on the pictures i move back here from ~~~Ninja-Storyboard~~ ... i know its very troublesome, but it would show me you care
