I define myself as an anime fan.

Put down your weapons. That doesn't mean I'm an otaku, fanboy, pervert, japanophile, or terrorist. That means I have no problem admitting I don't think I'm too grown up to enjoy the occasional cartoon. Unfortunately, american animation lacks (IMO) in character development, art design, color usage, soundtrack, and plot. So, unless I'm looking for comedy, I've turned to Japan for my toons.

Unfortunately, my college anime group has, to say, "failed to deliver" on a good anime in at least the past year. I don't know if 2006/2007 were just bad years, but between new DVDs and new fansubs, I just haven't found anything new to dig. So I turn to you, respected Internet. Help me find a new show or two to look into and really give a chance.

To help define my taste, here's a pair of lists:

Anime I have enjoyed in the past: Ai Yori Aoshi, Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, Excel Saga, Gravitation, Gundam Seed, Gundam Wing, King of Bandit Jing, Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun

Anime I've never understood the popularity of, despite seeing more than once: Bleach, Deathnote, FLCL, Inuyasha, Naruto

Anything with a plot revolving around the new girl in school, breast jokes, any anime where at least three characters can be defined as "moe" or "lolicon", any anime with sexual situations used as a comedic device more than once every ten minutes, and any combat anime where you can begin it's description with "It's kinda like..." and name at least three anime without mentioning Bleach, Buso Renkin, Gurren Laggen, or Naruto, NEED NOT APPLY. This is the kind of garbage I'm fed up with. I don't care if she's busty, or cute, or it's allegedly funny, I don't need to see the first episode summary of:
Well, [New girl] is revealed to be an [angel/demon/robot/american/sex icon/generally out of town or school district] and is shown around school by [generic guy with short brown hair, school clothes, three to four male friends, some angst complex, and a common Japanese name], where 5-30 men take an immediate liking/lust for raping her that she doesn't realize. By the episode's end, she has moved into his house [or vice versa][or maybe mansion where all financial situations are solved for no good reason], he has awkwardly seen at least 75% of her bodily skin, and they have stumbled into some sexual position by accident."
for the sixth time.

Maybe you think I'm picky. I, personally, think I just want to see some new toon from Japan that isn't crap.

I've had alot of fun with Lainim. Spent only eight-ten hours writing her character sheet, roughly two-three hours on the pencil work on this piece, and maybe an hour-90 minutes on the digital work.

I always was a sucker for Psychics, Ghosts, and Fighters, but the best type is "diversity".

Sasaki, Sasaki's adopted son, and... Sasaki..... eat together...

They eat somewhere classy and mid-expensive, and talk about gaping plot holes and storyline inconsistencies.

Depends on which personality Ein is showing.
If Ein is currently Ein, Esseanna will kill him and skin him, because she's never killed cyberneticically enhanced Echidna before.
If Ein is currently Dune, a bloody fight ends with Esseanna dead.

09) If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would s/he get it back?

Sak is a rich, honorable man and would never steal. However, if for some reason he did, it would be Qualin's daisho, and Qualin would challenge Sak to a duel of honor to get them back. Which he'd then lose.

10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.

Retcon: How Sasaki Found Herself.

11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?

Sasaki is doing something. Umarh unquestioningly voulenteers, and Sak sees it as the right thing to do.

Four months since I last posted an art entry

(Hey, rounding up is what the cool people do!)

I've been using the Internet less and less, as I'm sure you've all noticed.

I also haven't updated any art because the last thing I drew was my LiveJournal avatar, which is being (*drumroll*) PROCRASTINATED ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 Seriously, I did it like a month ago and still no ink.

I enrolled into college. Northern Kentucky University, that is. I also quit my job at Kroger and got one on campus pushing around computer equipment. Pay cut, hour cut, doubled amount of time waited for paychecks, but I like it. Unfortunately, I've been completely broke since.

Also started driving, so I have freedom out of my room (which is good, because my brother seems to have moved into it.)

Me and Dawn () broke up for the third time, and most likely for good. I'm pursuing my first offline relationship, and deeply wish Dawn the absolute best in life. We are hanging on to friendship, and the rocky phase of sorting our couples life out seems to be over.

I think that just about covers all of my excuses for not being online anymore.

Now that I'm not RPing, not giving Dawn gifts, and not feeling depressed, I'm... not inspired to art...

Whenever I finish my avatar, it will be put up here (might even replace poor wonely Sasaki). I'll also put some pictures up. Pictures of me. Being sexy.

FFXI: Level 22! Suck it dry! =i_i=

Love: The meaning of my life (), is still connectionless. HOWEVER, I got to talk to her on the phone tonight (As well as and ). I had a hard time discerning whom I was talking to when (despite picking Caru out easily when she tried to make me guess.), and generally couldn't understand conversation with five people talking (!), but I deeply enjoyed the chance to talk, and plan to do it again tommorow. During Anime Club.

Man... hard to believe it's only been 28 months (off and on) with her. I feel like I've loved her forever. After our (horrifically failed) Otakon trip (5 seconds of her face that I can't even remember i___i), I'm thrilled to get to hear her voice for the first time. I hope to talk to her without a keyboard more and more. Until we don't need technology to talk anymore. Until I can wake up in the morning and see her with my own two eyes, sleeping beside me.

Anime: I might to go Ikasucon this year. Also, Squall cosplay back into work; gunblade, jacket revision. But it's threatened to be sidelined with something I easily see myself doing (and having an assload of fun with)... DOMOKUN COSPLAY.

Also. The Emoticon Stick v2.0. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Now with more Cthulhu, catface, and as requested, Trowa Barton. And less misdemeanors.

Books: Saviors of Kamigawa is out. Ohgod. Read it in two days. Also, I read the first book of War Of The Spider Queen, all six of the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy books, and picked up book 11 of Drizzt DoUrden's life.

I, personally, haven't liked ECRPG as of late, and I juggled the whole "leaving" idea myself, but I opposed it and hoped for change. I don't know what kind of change I desire, I just know I hope it happens.

So I drew this as a swift kick to my own ass to remind me to grow up.

And I end up with something I've been trying to complete for six years: a anime-style human drawing.

A Gift of Roses is actually something I wanted to draw for on Valentines Day last year, based on a dream where I wanted to buy her roses, but couldn't find any in a store, so I gashed my hand and lower arm apart picking some.

Anyway, I started coloring it and ended up not liking it as much. So I submitted it twice, black and white, and colored. I'll let you judge which is better, or if I really should give up.

I seem to have had an artistic fallback. I can't draw anything anymore, not even basic shapes. The last few pages of my sketchbook have consisted of some blocky thing holding a round thing, a woman made out of two legs (they came out nice) and a rectangle, and "A Car"... I don't know. I think it was a Hide check in an Applebees parking lot.

So... yeah... sorry, everyone. As soon as I muster something together, I'll post it. I'm currently working on Sasaki and my D&D line: Sera, Human Fighter; Umar'H, Drow Soulknife; Carad, Human Monk; Qualin, Kender Samurai.

But considering I've been drawing weekly, and haven't finished something in four months.....

I got a solid three hours of sleep. My legs seem to have broken out in some sort of mind-grating red bump thing (looks like bugbites), my chapped lips are sucking hard, and so much bagging straight has damaged the skin next to my fingernails in 8 out of 10 fingers (One turned infected before I ever got home to treat it).

Also my dad has entered super bitch mode. He now takes every opportunity to blame me for not having a car, not having a license, not being in college, eating, breathing funny, whatever the fuck he feels like blaming me on this hour. Drunken assclown.

For once, I might get some good out of a damn HtDM book. This brings my collection to 5 (Getting Started, Compiling Characters, Bodies and Anatomy, Giant Robots, and Couples).

Anyway. Expect something out of me in the near future. Even if it IS my tracing something from a HtDM book to get a hang of body structure, and nib usage.

I'd practice now, but I need ink. But I'll fix that Monday, right Cy? RIGHT, CY!?

Unfortunately, I feel that what I can already do doesn't nearly portray the art I envision. The illustrations I design, the music I write, the words I spell... all in my head. I have no physical talent that can accurately portray them to the outside world. None of it comes close.

2.) I lost my sketchbook for a while (Okay, three days)
3.) I ran out of tracing paper.
4.) I'VE DECIDED TO REMOVE ALL REMNANTS OF "FANDOM" FROM MY CHARACTERS, INCLUDING HISTORIES, IMAGES, AND LIFESTYLES.

As anyone can tell from my drawings, 4 could be a problem. Being complete Sonic Team style.

So my characters are developing new looks as I push onward in my creativity and individuality.

Unfortunately, this push has left a little something in the dust. Namely, talent.

I have the new designs in my head. Now they need to make it to paper. My name is Scott (You can call me Sakaki, though. Scott is a name I enjoy being called by my absolute most loved and trusted friends, and I feel uncomfortable when others call me by it.). I'm 17 years old, and I like drawing. Only problem is I kinda suck. Ah well, whatcha' gonna do?

Anyway, more fun facts for you. I'm bisexual, currently very happy with my long-distance girlfriend (One year and counting). I'm also autistic and suffer the memory span of a floppy disk in an electromagnet.

I'll post all sorts of drawings here (Mostly bad), and I hope to get better works up (Don't hold your breath. My current progress that you see took 5 years of practice.)
