Give up?

I saw the musical Wicked at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco on Friday. My parents surprised me the day before, telling me they bought tickets. This was after the fact that I just found out that SJSU students and staff get a $30 discount 'till some time late in October. Too bad, so sad. Oh well.

Because of our budget, my parents only got tickets for me and the two of them. I felt really bad that my bros and Nanay couldn't come with, but I'm not sure they'd all enjoy it anyway. And as divine intervention would have it, there were only three tickets available (for the balcony; that's all we can afford) and they were right next to each other; row B, seats 101, 103, and 105. I sat in seat 101 because it was the aisle seat (no crowdedness for me. YAY!!) The people in seats 107 and 109 were a Filipino mother and son from Stockton and were celebrating the son's b-day (also 911). And get this: The people sitting directly behind us were all family friends, though I only really knew one of them, my 'Tita' Pam. They were there celebrating 'Tita' Debbie's mom's b-day (another 911). I told my mom it was all an act of God in which we were all seated together. She laughed and agreed readily, me knowing full well she'd be telling the same thing to everyone every time she'd recall the outing.

Now to something actually regarding the musical:

Kendra Kassebaum is an awesome Glinda and Teal Wicks portrays Elphaba as such a strong, wonderful character (and has the Wicked Witch laugh down pat). I SO want to see it again, but alas, my budget does not allow. Maybe if I can get a group of friends to go with me before the SJSU discount runs out ...

Anyhoo, my parents also bought me the official Wicked program and the soundtrack of the original Broadway cast. I have to tell you straight, I personally prefer Kassebaum as Glinda. Why? Because when I was listening to the soundtrack, it sounded like Glinda was being portrayed as the token Golden Girl (if not a bit bossy), while Kassebaum portrays Glinda as a lovable ditzy blonde. Look at this: [link] How can you not love her? Why, yes. I AM bias. *sigh* I wish I could see all the productions of Wicked.

Oh! Just as a side note: Teal Wicks played Elphaba in the LA production of Wicked and Kendra Kassebaum played Glinda in the Broadway Production as well as the National Tour.

Chapter twelve is currently just a vague thought in my head right now, but I'll definitely be working on it more seriously than I have with my other chapters. I will do everything in my power not to make my readers wait another year for an update for this particular fic. I am so sorry it took this long.

I know that there are some loose ends that still need to be addressed from the last chapter that were not mentioned in the new update, but (as my author's note says) I will be working on chapter eleven for the remainder of the month to make sure that it's better than the original draft that I turned in.

I've hit another stumbling block with UDPF, so I don't really know when I'll be updating for that. I'm also reworking an older fanfic of mine 'cause I've reread the original and it's so horrible it makes me want to cry.

Other than that, I'm just trying to get my college transfer stuff all finished and survive my last quarter at my current college. That's pretty much it.

I'VE BECOME A YAOI FAN!!

Given, it's only for one series and specifically for one pairing, BUT IT'S STILL YAOI!! And there's nothing wrong with yaoi, really there isn't; it's just that I've never been a fan of it. I mean, I've been supportive of it and I have friends that squeal and gush over it, but it's never been my cup of tea ... until now.

I blame Ouran High School Host Club. Yes, I'm on the OHSHC bandwagon, so sue me. Wait. Don't. I'm a poor starving college student that's trying to pass this quarter's courses while trying to figure out what my major should be.

Anyhoo ... I'm shipping Hikaru + Kaoru. Seriously, their "Brotherly Love" act is just too good to be completelyl fake. And I know that Kaoru loves his brother than than a brother should. IT'S SO FREAKIN' OBVIOUS!! Hikaru? Eh ... He seems interested in Haruhi, but like Kaoru said, he's too stupid to fall in love (with anyone other than Kaoru XD). I don't necessarily support Hikaru + Haruhi, but I'm not gonna condemn the coupling to the deepest circle of Hell. If it happens, it happens. That still doesn't mean I have to like it, though.

This is my first and (perhaps) my only yaoi pairing. Touya + Nakuru doesn't count 'cause Nakuru doesn't have a definite gender, s/he just prefers to be a girl.

*dreamy sigh* I finished the game at level 99 and with all my forms (and summoning) at level 7 (highest level). So satisfying ... especially since I was able to synthesize Save the Queen, Save the King, and Ultima Weapon. YAY! Happy!

The Nobody's made me sad, though. For the sake of those who hate spoilers, I'll keep quiet about Roxas and Namine. *bittersweet sigh*

It was a fun game. Lots of button-mashing in the final battle, but that was okay.

My only real complaint would have to be Atlantica. *shudder* The corniness ... Oh the corniness ... My poor, poor eyes and ears ... I think captured it best in the last panel of her latest Kingdom Hearts mini-comic. I wish I could've actually killed something in Atlantica without resorting to music. Don't get me wrong, I'm a bandgeek at heart, but I love to beat the pulp out of things.

Anyhoo ... Now I'm all hyped up on Kingdom Hearts 2 and am squealing over the following couples either for their canon-ness or because of their lack there of in KH2:

Oh my freaky gosh ...

The joy of plain coloring is OVERWHELMING!! I didn't even need a blinkin' tutorial at all. The only help I asked for was from my older bro and that was because I didn't know how to change the brush size.

Shading is an ENTIRELY different thing. *glares at cruddy shading* It's a pain, a major pain. And it's only a pain 'cause you have to take the direction of lighting, folds, and distance from light source into account. Grr ...

Still, it's fun.

Not only did I almost kill myself this morning, I almost killed my younger brothers, one of my older brothers, and my dad.

Sheer stupidity on my part. Really. I'm not kidding.

Some common-sense advice:

1. Double-check to make sure you put the right burner on
2. Make sure the burner you put on doesn't have anything that's not suppose to be on it when it's heating up
3. When you smell something burning, it's most likely that something is burning
4. When your younger brother asks you to check whatever-it-is-that-smells-like-its-burning, check it out
5. When you see the air around you begin to get misty, realize that there's something wrong
6. DON'T BE AN IDIOT AND IGNORE ALL THE OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A POSSIBLE FIRE
7. Thank your father for rushing into the kitchen and turning off the burner before it burned the metal lids and set the house on fire
8. Thank the good Lord on high that you have an electric stove instead of a gas one

Hot and burning ...

I always heard about them, but tears have always been wet and cold to me. Never have my tears felt hot and singe my cheeks before. On occassions, my tears sting my eyes, but ... they're always cold ...

until this very moment.

I don't even know why I'm crying. The tears just won't stop and they hurt ... They hurt so much. My tears accumilate in my eyes, washing them in a painful warmth, before falling over my cheeks in two small streams. From the heat I can feel from them, I'm expecting steam to lift from face, to see two red streaks marked from my eyes to my chin.

I look at a mirror and see myself pale and unblemished aside from my reddening nose and eyes. Touching my face, I notice that my cheeks are cold. I'm shocked to find that my searing tears, which still refuse to stop, are wet and cold as always.

I can't stop crying and my tears still burn, but my hands tell me otherwise.

And I still don't know why I'm crying, much less, why I'm smiling.

Have no idea why I just wrote that. I really don't. I kinda went through something like ... It was really confusing and frustrating. It still is ...

Beginning this school year, whenever H.T. hugs me, she says that I smell good. I'm not the only one she says this to, she's honest and only tells people this that she thinks smell 'uniquely good.'

On this past Tuesday, I got my usual 'greeting hug' from H.T. and she said I smelled good. After hearing this for the majority of the school year, I asked H.T. 'Do I really smell that good?' Of course, H.T. said 'yes' and I asked my unofficial Ate (pronounced 'Ah-Teh') R.S. for a second opinion. She said 'yes', too so I asked 'What do I smell like, since you like it so much?' I was pulled back into several hugs before R.S. told me I smelled like a blanket right out of the dryer, but sweeter. And H.T. agreed.

So I discovered on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, that I smell like a sweet blanket. Just wanted to share that little tibit of info. Why? For no apparent reason.

Ahem! At my school, Juniors in U.S. history are only taught up to the late 1940s (WWII and some time after that), which is some time during April. How do these Juniors learn of the U.S. history from the 1950s to early Y2K? Why, their class breaks up into groups and teaches the remaining decades to the class. Each group (5 groups in total) will choose one decade from the 5 decades left unsaid in our history(50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s).

Not sure if other schools do this, but mine does.

I am part of a group that has to cover the 1970s. *sigh* Hello piles of books, endless lists of websites, note taking, downloading, typing, planning, insomnia, stress, and irritation galore. I believe I have not seen you since freshman year when I had a panic attack, which felt like a heart attack.

SO KNEW WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN!!

PREDICTABLE PLOTS BLOW!! THEY BLOW BIG !! ME NO LIKEY!!

On the other hand ... I liked some of the predictable stuff, especially when it was in my 'favor'.

I'm a sap for romance except when it's the sole theme of the book. *shudders at the thought of romance novels* EWW!! Anyhoo ... The Ron+Kim romance was a no brainer and bound to happen, which is why I liked it so much.

Now the appearance of Eric tied in with all those hints and not to mention the picture of him&Kim that Drakken had just screamed the whole hero's-love-gets-kidnapped-and-the-hero- goes-to-save-them-but-it's-really-a-trap -'cause-the-hero's-love-is-really-a-badg uy plot. I mean, seriously ... If that was not obvious, I don't know what is.

AND I CAME TO THAT CONCLUSION A WEEK OR TWO BEFORE THE DARN MOVIE PREMIERED!!

I'm sorry. I probably sound like a whiny little 'female dog' and I apologize, but for crying out loud!

Mr. Possible: Aren't your parents gonna drop by and take a few shots?

Eric: Oh no, sir. It's just my dad and he's always busy with work. Like right now, he's working on a major project.

Eric's obviously talking about Drakken. How could I get Drakken from all that? *shrugs* I have no clue, but I just took Erics words as that.

Even before that:

Drakken: I WILL GET INSIDE HER MIND!! I WILL FIND OUT KIM POSSIBLE'S FATAL FLAW!!

Drakken here stated this when he & Shego were in front of his teenager-world testing area (or whatever you wanna call it). How else are you gonna get past a teenage girl's defenses and stop them in their tracks? BOYS!! And having scientists analyze a teen girl's lifestyle will only make this more apparent.

Oh! And the picture that Drakken had in his Bueno Nacho office of Eric&Kim made it obvious, too. How could Drakken get that picture? They were posing with a nice background there. Could spies do that? I think not! Could someone have stolen it? No way! Eric&Kim happened too soon for anyone in the villian department to really know about them.

Twists? HA!! There were no twists in that movie! NONE I TELL YOU!! NONE!! *gets glared at and stuff thrown at her* HEY!! Okay ... I admit that not everyone can be as crazy as me and go way out on a limb and predict everything that's gonna happen, but ...

Anyhoo ... I got my hair cut last week on Thurday, the 30th (?) of March. My hair used to end just below my shoulder blades and I no bangs. Now my hair is layered, barely touching my shoulders, and I have bangs!! I haven't had bangs since the third grade!! And that was like ... eight whole years ago!!

That aside, you people remember how I said I was gonna be cosplaying as Selphie from Final Fantasy VIII for Fanime? Well ... yeah ... That's the only reason why I cut my hair.

*sigh* The person who cut my hair didn't cut my bangs short enough, so I asked my mom to do it. Grr ... Now my bangs are too thick and make me look ... ick. Not that I really care what people think of me, it's just that I look less 'Selphie-ish' with the way my bangs are now. *sigh* I should've just left them be.

*shrugs* Oh well ... Fanime is less than 2 months away so I have time to let my bangs grow out and fix them.

OH SHNAPS!! I gotta work on my cosplay outfit. *groan* I had to start from scratch all over again and I still gotta cut the cloth and sew it together. *sigh*

Taking in a shaky breath, the 12-year-old closed his eyes and made a silent prayer, then his onyx eyes snapped.

He could hear them approaching and they wanted him dead, to bring his corpse back to his family ... To his sister.

The image of a sobbing 6-year-old girl flashed through his mind's eye, small shaking arms reaching out to him, a child's strained voice begging for him to be brought back.

He was going to come back home to his family.

The crunching of leaves caused him to focus narrowed eyes to his forward right.

And like Hell would he let these guys take him back in a body bag.

Grr ... I cannot draw guys for the life of me. Good thing I got about 8 months to hone my skills. And it's pretty handy that I bought "How To Draw Manga: Male Characters" about one or 2 years ago.

It's titled "Untitled Danny Phantom Fanfic" because ... Well ... When I wrote the first chapter, I wasn't really planning on continuing the story. But then I uploaded it on ff.net anyways and told people that if I got less that 10 reviews, I wasn't gonna go on with the story. Low and behold, I got 12 reviews, so I continued, not really knowing where the story was leading.

Because I didn't know where the fic was going, I didn't bother with a title. Now that I'm ~absolutely~ positive of how the story is going to be carried out, I have some ideas for a title. However, it's been 5 months since I first started on it and people have gotten use to the 'title' it has. Pretty much everyone knows it as UDPF, as I have abbreviated it on my author's page at ff.net and on forums.

Anyhoo ... Go check out the first chapter of UDPF. Hopefully, I'll finish revising the rest of the chapters so far and even finish writing chapter 10. That's 'hopefully' mind you.

Okay. I think I did well enough on my French II final to get at least a C (too many 7s out of 10 on my orals). Oh! And it wasn't composition that we did (that was last week. How forgetful of me), but the stupid scantron. Uhh ... Well, I guess having 100 multiple choice questions in French is better than having to write an entire story in the language. I think I got at least a C on that, too.

Now my plans for this weekend:

-MUST WORK ON CHAPTER 10 FOR MY DANNY PHANTOM FANFIC & PRAY I GET THE DRAFT DONE BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS UP AGAIN!! And send draft to JadeRabbyt to beta read.
-MUST REVISE PAST 9 CHAPTERS OF UDPF AND SUBMIT THEM HERE!! I ~seriously~ need to do that.
-MUST WORK ON RACHELLE'S EMERSONIAN GIFT SO I CAN ~FINALLY~ GIVE IT TO HER!! It's already January and I haven't given the gift to her! It's suppose to be her Christmas present, too. *sigh* I'm such a bad friend.
-GET AT LEAST 7 HOURS OF SLEEP EACH DAY!! Going to bed at 11 pm and waking up at 4 am on school days is ~not~ healthy.

Do I have anything else? *thinks about it* Well ... I don't have any homework (at all!! ) so I guess I'm good to go.

You wanna know about the other 5 finals that I finished?

Well ... I'm pretty sure I did pretty good on my trig. and chem. finals. I got a B+ on my Jazz Dance final and a 33 out of 50 *wince* for my U.S. History final. I think I completely bombed on my English Honors III final, though. I HATE in class essays when you're given all the materials the DAY of the test. I just hate writing essays last minute, it doesn't give me enough time to compose all my thoughts.

Anyhoo ... After this week, I got a 4 day weekend with NO homework or assignments. I'LL BE FREE OF ALL SCHOOL RELATED RESPOSIBLITY FOR A LITTLE BIT OVER 96 HOURS!! I CAN'T WAIT!! WHY MUST THIS WEEK TAKE FOREVER?! Just one more day with 2 hours of school (so glad for special finals schedule and having an open 6th). History: Make rough sketchs of historical art gallery for first 6 events; meet up with CPG at public library near school @ noon on Saturdayin spare time - do SG5 (not required as of this moment)

Since today is Thanksgiving, I'll just do the reading today when I get the chance and probably the sketchs for history. I'll probably finish the blue worksheet before I have to go to my uncle's for our family's annual Thanksgiving Day party.

No school tomorrow, so I better finish whatever I don't do today. If I still have time left and can't use the computer, I'll most likely do the stuff I'm not required to do at the moment, since neither assignment has been assigned as of yet (though I know they'll be due some time next week).
