Last night at around midnight, I went to sleep free of pain.
At 3:30 I wake up to discover that my body feels like someone kicked me repeatedly while I slept.

I deduce that at some point I started sleeping in a position that was tugging my back muscles from my neck. It must have been doing this for so long that I woke up to have strained back muscles.

My spine and ribs are fine. My lungs hurt only during deep breathes, when my chest has to expand to accommodate the air. My guess is that the muscles are required to move my arms, neck, and sides indirectly.
So, in a nutshell, I went to sleep weird.
However, I'm not exaggerating about the pain, it still hurts like a bitch. But, I was panicked and confused about it when I wrote my last entry, so it sounded more urgent than it was.

Still, I must thank my three friends who showed some level of concern for me. I will reply to you here and "kill" three birds with one journal entry (don't worry, I love birds).

I think I'll be fine, just slightly debilitated. I have to hunch my shoulders and cock my head a little to feel comfortable. Unfortunately though, I had college today, sooo... People saw me and yelled "Look! It's Quasi Moto!" jk, but srsly.
Thank you for caring though! If it happens to you I'll give you some advice based on experience.

That could have been a bully idea, however, the costs for the doctors to determined that I strained a muscle in my sleep like an idiot would rub salt in the wounds of realizing that I strained a muscle in my sleep like an idiot.

It's 4:00 AM here and I woke up in unbelievable pain, all in my upper back and inner chest. I don't think it's internal, just that everytime I breath in my back screams at me to stop. Yeah, and if I contract the muscle(s) between my shoulder blades, it feels like all the muscles in my upper back start firing pain signals through my body. It hurts like a bitch, and don't have a clue what to do. When my back muscles are involved in any kind of movement, I want to cry. It's that bad.

I mean, shit! What did I do? It's not like I'd been doing anything particularly strenuous to my upper back in the last two days for me to just wake up at 3:30 and POW. I worked at a coffee shop and we stand up for 10 hours, but that's about as hard as it gets. I played tennis two days ago, but it wasn't very strenuous on my back as much as my legs, and they're fine. Maybe I slept wrong, or ate something, I don't know. All I know is breathing hurts, lifting things or using my arms hurts, and moving in general hurts (getting to the computer was HELL).

If someone has any tips or advice, that would be fucking amazing right now."

I work at a coffee shop now for 7.40 an hour. I have officially conformed to this capitalist societies demands and joined the rat race. Now I officially work for "the man" and am trading my happiness for money! In a way, I'm a depression hooker. At least no one had to resort to working the corner.


In other news, this old guy Tom, who was boarding with my dad and grandma for 13 years, died last night. Of what, you might ask? Well, he was 70-something and has been smoking cigarettes since he was 6. So, you can imagine what killed him. I honestly don't have the details though.
So yeah, that makes me sad. He was a cool guy. He was like the Godfather, if he were a redneck. Seriously, EVERYONE in the "family" and all his friends came to see him or called to talk to him. Like, ALL THE TIME. 90% of the phone calls to there were for Tom, and he never did anything. Mainly because he was sick. But he was still a real tough hombre. He loved to eat crab legs, loved fishing and hunting and the like. Used to be a punk who'd punch you in the face 'cause he can.
I feel sort of bad though, because just three or four weeks ago, I had my two friends Tim and Jon come over to the condo to fix their computer. While they were troubleshooting, the phone kept ringing, my dad would pick it up, and he'd yell upstairs, "Tom! It's for you!"
After a while, Tim asked,
"Who is 'Tom'?"
Jon immediately replied,
"THERE IS NO TOM."

I could not stop laughing. I knew he existed but the thought that all this time he was some sort of imaginary friend made me lose it. "Tom's the creature in the attic who is super popular."
Dad smiled a little, but I think he didn't laugh because he knew Tom's days were almost up. I'd wish I'd known that, now I feel like a prick. Ah well. He lived for a long time, espeicially considering he smoked like a chimney. I'll miss him.

Aside from that, life has been pretty complacent. I'm starting college next week, and I'm excited, anxious, and nervous as all hell. I hope I don't get a crapload of homework or shit like that. I'll study, I'll take notes, I'll even participate, please just spare me the homework assignments!

Well, first of all, I JUST got my license, along with brand spanking new car. It's a 95 Ford Taurus (with fuzzy dice, 'cause that's how we DO IT). It's really comfortable but I can't drive it yet because it's in the shop. Nothing major is wrong with it, it's just got a lot of little problems that aren't too bad to fix, but like i said, ALOT.

Besides that, I've been actively searching for a job. I've applied at three bookstores, Best Buy, some coffee shops, some game stores, and a Toys R Us. That's today. It's REALLY hard to find a job when you have long hair and no experience, and I'll sooner murder a chinese hooker than cut my hair. But alas, I think that soon I will have a job and then I'll have money to pay for college and junk!
*and strippers! cough cough*

What? No, see I was coughing. I couldn't have said anything.

Anyway, yeah college. I'm going to a community college because it's cheap and their credits transfer. So once I get close to getting my assoiciates, BOOM transfer to a university. Then back to my community college again to help with my bachelor's. Bachelor's in what you say? Why, Global Studies of course!

What is Global Studies?

... I... I don't actually know...

But, it has a lot of classes that I'm really interested in, so yeah. For instance, I'm taking Early World History, English Composition 1, Economics 1(supply and demand, yay!) and American Government. 'Twill be fun.

Aside from that, not much else is going on. Well, stuff is, but it's neither good nor interesting, so I'm omitting it, as I am so used to doing. Look at it this way - if I talked about all the stuff I COULD talk about, I'd be spamming everyone's journal inboxes and who wants that? Personally, I don't. An update or inquiry (or tag) is fine every one in a while, but if we all poured our hearts out onto the internet, no one would have time for anyone. It would be like twitter is today. People update what they are doing but don't care what everyone else is doing. So, I'm doing DA society a favor and keepin' it real... real short.

Now, what's interesting, is that he proposed that if I ever became a leader of some revolution, he would make sure that he is the assasin hired to kill me. I proposed that I would catch him in the act and pay him double to join my cause. Instead, we agreed to be rivals, sort of like Magneto and Professor X.

I think that's 8, if my kindergarten skills haven't failed me. So, now for the poor suckers I get to make feel obligated to make a tag journal.

Well, how 'bout a tad of insight on my life, hmm?



So, I've been lounging the summer away, relaxing and loving it, yet it's been pretty busy too, weirdly enough. For instance, I went to Sedonna, Arizona and saw the Grand Canyon! Holy F**k that was huge. Plus, I had this past year drastically changed my career plans too. I was GOING to be an Animator, indeed that was the impression people got when I converted my deviations from drawings to cartoons. HOWEVER. I have seen a documentary movie called Zeitgeist [link] that changed my opinions about everything. (In case you don't know, I'm what you'd call a flip flopper. I change my mind about so many things it's not even funny.) But THIS time, my thoughts have stuck with me. I have decided to become a POLITICIAN.

*audience gasps* *boos*

Yeah, I'm well aware that most politicians are swindling dirtbags, as I'm also aware that many are corrupt, money grabbing dilweeds. I, on the other hand, am a guy who doesn't care one way or the other about money and I have a strong sense of justice to boot. So HAH!

That aside, I decided to volunteer on a political campaign. I don't drive (don't as in can, but won't) so I rode my bike 5.6 miles down busy roads to the office and back. I only stay a couple hours to help them with whatever, but this volunteering is teaching me a TON of stuff about how the world works. I'm invisible, so I hear what everone is talking about all the time and I'm learning barrel fulls about local campaigning and grassroots politics. That is AWESOME. And on my way back I always eat at a chinese place, which is sweet.

My classes this upcoming year are all geared toward politics, so that is going to be super-beneficial I hope. No more Mathematics or English, instead Law and Debate. Happy me

So anyway, after 2.5 to 3 years, I've finally found a comfortable belief system (in death, life, religious-related crap) and I'm a clear Agnostic Atheist. I'm not gonna preach, just saying that it's nice to finally have a clear and set, organized way of seeing things, a well-founded identity to work with.

Here's an interesting fact. In the first month of summer I get some well deserved solitude, but for me flies by much too quickly. The next month goes by just right, and is very relaxing and appreiciated. By the beginning of the third month though, I'm tired of relaxing. I actually WANT to go back to school. This month, of course, seems to drag on forever, and I'm seriously itching to get back in class again. The weird thing (besides the initial fact that I'm tired of vacation) is that this has only been happening this year and last year. I think it's because I finally have interesting classes that I want to learn in. (That and I have no more required math.) I feel like things are looking up, you know?

And another thing. I'm enjoying life a lot lately, and I don't know why exactly... It's not that I'm doing anything really fun and exciting. Maybe that just shows I don't NEED fun and exciting things to stay happy. Maybe I'm just an inately happy person.
Whatever the case, I hope it keeps up.

Seriously, WTF?!
In the fight I had with my Mom, I SWORE at her! My mother! The F-word man!!!

That's like the king of all swear words! And to my Mom no less! And, she just forgave me. No punishment whatsoever. I mean, that's nice and all, but why? I figured I'd be doing every chore imaginable with no computer at all. Yet here I am at home, on the computer, writing this journal. AND SHE'S KNOWS I'M ON.

I don't know, this is really confusing to me... Maybe she's saving my punishment for later... I don't want to think about it...

On a lighter note, I'm using some of the time (while I've got it) to work on my crappy lil' animations, so expect to see SOMETHING in the near future.

STEP ONE

In 3rd hour today, I had an argument that has really affected me. There are a number of colorful characters in my Psychology class. Firstly there is this guy Flavio. Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, knows that this kid is a pot-head. Big-time. Now he’s talking about weed (again) and I remembered earlier today that I read about marijuana being considered a “gateway” drug, because a lot of people start with it, and move on to bigger, more harmful drugs. As I’m about to say this, this girl named Emily interrupts me and says it’s not a gateway drug.

…Okay, so I’m about to say why I disagree, when she goes on to say that it’s not a drug at all, but just a plant.

… I’m really starting to get amazed at her ignorance at this point, so I say,” No, hemp is a plant, however it contains many harmful drugs (chemicals and such) in it, which in turn makes the plant a drug.” Now I hope anybody reading this knows that drugs consist of Stimulants, Depressants, Hallucinogens, yada yada… those types of things. Well she apparently didn’t care, because she doesn’t consider them to be drugs – in fact, I don’t even know what her definition of “drugs” are.

But then the argument turns to this.

Emily: Have you ever smoked weed?
Me: No, but I don’t need to in order to-
Emily: You haven’t? Then you don’t know anything about it.
Me: No, I don’t need to experience a drug to know its effects-
Emily: It’s done. You don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s over.
Me:…

Now at this point I was at a loss for words. If only I’d known a little more about the chemicals and symptoms and dangers of it, then I may have put up an excellent argument. But because I didn’t know the specifics of the drug, I got owned, and shut up for the rest of class.

So next hour, I was totally stumped on how to counter her argument, so I went to this kid Zach who I know smokes and I asked him if he’s done weed before. He said yes, so I then asked him if he considers marijuana a drug. I was hoping for a reply like “Of course!”, but no such luck. He too thinks that marijuana isn’t a drug. How retarded is that? He goes on to explain it like, “Well, you know how people don’t consider tobacco a drug?” So I say, “No.”

Then he seems confused like I’m crazy or something, and says, “Well a lot of people don’t consider tobacco a drug.”
“What?”
“Yeah, I don’t know anyone who thinks it is.”
“I do.”

Then him and this other eavesdropping kid immediately say that I’m crazy, or something along those lines.

Does anyone see a problem with this picture?

I’ve done a bit of homework on it, so that I’m not caught so unprepared, but I’d like to know your views on the subject. Leave a comment or post a journal on what you think about marijuana and drugs in general.

That is correct! I actually look foward to school! It's amazing! Do you want to know why? Well, put simply...

I HAVE NO MATH!!!!!!!!

That is a VERY good thing, because I HATE math. Hate it. Plain and simple.

1. It's very hard. I personally have a difficult time with it.
2. So... much... WORK!!!...
3. zzzzz... ! Oh! Right, it's REALLY boring.

And I'm done! Can you believe it? And with math out of the way, I get another hour to put in something worthwhile! AND without math, I have much less homework, much more energy, and genuine free time! (Not free time where I lie to my Mom about being done with my math)

That combined with actually interesting classes WITH friends in the majority of them makes for an awesome school year.

Health is actually cool to learn about (because mental disorders are SO cool...)
Zoology is better than Physics or Chemistry, so... yeah.
Psychology is somewhat interesting (and easy!)
Hnrs. English 11 isn't AS interesting as the others, but a lot of my friends are there.
AutoCAD 1+2 has very useful information (even if it is a little monotonous)
Weightlifting. Who doesn't want to be buff? Muscles come in handy.

Next semester I'll have:
Yearbook staff (should be fun...)
Government (with Mr. Cardew... uhh...)
Speech (useful class, plus it's with Mr. Beard who I've heard is cool)
Botany (plants aren't my thing, but you can't have Zoology without Botany! It's just not right.)


Anywoo, just thought I'd update you peoples on my life. Because life is AWESOME.

"Well you can't prove that it isn't there!" Well, why the fuck would you want to prove it is? That idea is totally retarded. Just like the idea of god, which by the way, is all he is. An IDEA.

I mean, religion in general is crap. It hasn't brought us anything good, what so ever. What it has brought us is: The Crusades. The Inquisition. Witch trials in Europe and America. The divine right of kings. Missionaries destroying or converting smaller, heathen religions and cultures. Missionaries such as Mother Teresa who raise money for the poor and then spend it on the church while the poor slept on cheap cots and died miserable deaths. Persucution of heretics like Galileo for daring to suggest that the earth orbits the sun. Children dieing because their parents refuse them medical treatment on religous grounds, instead relieing on faith healers and prayers. Slavery, holy wars, censorship and the destrustion of great works of art. Mass suicides. Genocides, just like in Darfur. Sacrifices. Female circumcision - hell, MALE circumcision for that matter. Opposition of science. The spread of AIDS and overpopulation in third world countries and here at home due to discouragement of condoms and birth control. Suicide bombers. Child abuse. Persucution of homosexuals.

Now... I'll gladly believe in god. Oh, don't worry, all that other stuff is irrelevent (extreme sarcasm). This guy has a list of things that would make him and myself both convert.

I agree with all that this guy put on the list, and find no problems with the requirements. They are reasonable and aren't too much too ask for. Period.

So yeah... life's been pretty swell lately. Got the Sims Seasons and God of War 2, both of which rock. I just went camping in my uncles backyard yesterday, and it was fun. Besides that, nothing much.

"WHOA!" The driver slammed on the brakes, and we saw the dude in front of us swerve and hit something brown. So I said, "What was that?", and we pulled into a parking lot. We looked to the road, and there she was.

A mother duck. Her ducklings made it safely across, but she was dead. When the traffic cleared I took her body out of the road and laid her on the grass. It was truly an example life and death. (Not to mention what our constant human modernization is doing to the wildlife.)

It sucked, but that's life.
