Well I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed again. I have a whole bunch of projects due this week, next week and the week after. I'm reaaally looking forward to the Holidays. Two weeks of doing NOTHING! I shall LOVE IT!!

And of course, I got a PS3 for my birthday...and I haven't even plugged it in yet ''OTL. Even with all that planning and work I still couldn't work in enough time to actually be able to play it. So, I have to wait until the Hols now. Oh well...

Also, just to let certain people know, I'm probably not going to be able to finish your commish/present until the Hols. =___=;;; I'll throw in something extra to make up for my uber-fail.

Two final notes; being 20 doesn't feel that different; And I really want my Subby back. I'll buy another one once the Hols come (I hate the extra ad placement and all those other little extras that I took for granted for the past year.

My subby's about to expire...I don't remember exactly what it's like to not have one since it's been a year, but I suppose I'll find out soon enough....and may end up getting another one rather quickly.

Life is still stressful, but It's back to being manageable again. But on another, happier note: I turn 20 years old in a week! Yay! I'm not really planning anything special, unless a couple of my classmates drag me out somewhere I'll probably spend most of my weekend doing homework. I will spend one day however playing my new PS3 (Which I don't have yet, but it's my b-day present!!) and ACII!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THAT GAME!! Incidentally, did anybody else watch Assassin's Creed Lineage? I enjoyed it, it gave off the same feel as the game. Seeing Ezio's dad kick ass was awesome. I really enjoyed the settings...but when they used set-pieces it was really obvious. However, the CGI backgrounds were BEAUTIFUL!! It definately worked in getting me hyped for the game (And I've heard Ubisoft will be releasing more in the spring...YAY IF THAT'S TRUE!!!)

If I get enough money I have a few other games I want to get, like Uncharted 2, the R&C:Future games, and - even though I'm not big on FPSs - Modern Warfare 2 (It just looks so badass. I wanna play!!!). I think I had a few others I wanted to snatch, but the names escape me atm.

Sorry I haven't updated all month as well. The only drawing I do is my SBAs because they're required and I'm too busy to do anything else. I am doing another illustration for class so it should be up in two weeks. I may scan in some of my SBAs in the meantime, but that depends on how much time I have.

Sidenote: There is an asshole, about three doors down, who is having a party and his music is cranked so loud the bass is reverberating in my room....I am going to kill this ass-hat if he doesn't turn it off IN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES!!! (I've been listening to this for four hours already! TURN IT DOWN!!)

First, I'm going to ask you to kind of ignore that last entry. There are 5 days of the month where I'm really not myself and the added weight of school usually makes it 100x worse. I'm going to see a doctor about it this weekend on top of everything else I need to do, but, yeah. If I want to be "normal" I'm gonna have to see a doctor and find out how to remedy the situation.

School is...overwhelming. Also, it seems that every time I take care of one source of stress another one attacks me *waves envelope in air* Like this stupid thing. I have no idea how to fix this,so I'm going to have to take more time out of my schedule to do this. I'm hoping I can get it done this weekend, and if not then, then sometime next week. *wants to rip it up* I HATE THE GOV'T!!! Why must you make life so difficult!!?? *weeps*

And I still have no life outside of school (This is very depressing)...I hate life right now.

I finally got my hands on this video and I have to say...wow...

I don't really know what I was expecting now that I look back on it, but...wow. To me it's neither good or bad, but I would definitely call it interesting. Cenco (the monster) is one of the weirdest things I've seen and I would definitely like to see more of him and have him explained. Luckily, since the ending leaves it open for a follow-up that seems very likely.

The art is mixed. I've read that one person did most of the animation by himself (Actually, he did pretty much everything by himself) and in regards to the backgrounds I can understand that. They all look like vectorized photographs. The animation however, flows really smoothly except for one part that caught my attention. The transformations are smooth and Cenco's eyes...freak me out quite a bit (but I have a thing about eyes, so that doesn't surprise me).

The last thing I have to mention is the music. I'll definitely be following supercell (especially Ryo's specifically) because I LOVE them.

So in conclusion Cencoroll was definitely interesting. A bit lacking in exposition, but maybe we'll get more of that in the (possible) follow-up. You should definitely check it out.

My student loan finally, FINALLY came through!! I can stop worrying about money since it's more than enough to get me through the rest of this year. I'm overly frugal, so this amount (more than I expected) will be sure to get me through perfectly fine.

Oh, and I'm feeling much better. I learned how to cut today...that sounded odd. Let me rephrase that: I was taught how to properly hold and use a knife when cutting printed material by a professional. I felt so stupid at first, because I really had no idea what I was doing, but after he showed me his techniques it all clicked and I can actually do it now! (For those of you who don't know exactly how bad I was at cutting before this: I cut off the end of my finger...twice. The same finger too.)

What's more I have ideas for projects now that I didn't last week, so I'm working on those. And I'm going to try my hardest to get these assignments done well in advance so that I don't have to worry about upcoming deadlines. The reason I want to do this is I actually plan on celebrating my Birthday this year. How do I plan on doing this? By buying a next gen console and Assassin's Creed II (Among other games, but that one is the one I REALLY WANT). And, no, I'm not dipping into the money mentioned above to get this stuff. Every year my dad gives me money for my birthday and tells me to spend it on something I want and I...don't. I've spent it all on Needs instead of Wants, so this will be the first year I ACTUALLY SPEND MY BIRTHDAY MONEY ON MYSELF (since I was a kid). I'm looking forward to it!! >XD

Since Halloween is coming up real quick I figured I’d throw some “spooky” books your way. Well, kindof. These two books aren’t scary per se, but they do involve monsters. Two of the most popular in fact: Vampires and werewolves. Now, recently anything involving these creatures has been….well…shit. Some of them aren’t even really about vampires or werewolves. I think they slapped on the names so that it would sucker in a broader audience (You know what I’m talking about.) But here are two that I did enjoy (as well as a brief mention of a third) that I think managed to portray these monsters effectively and loyaly.

Also, keep in mind that these books are aimed at older people. So anyone under they age of, let’s say, fourteen stay the hell away from these books until at least your voice cracks.


Vamped by David Sosnowski


I mentioned this book before in a previous rec and now I’m giving it its own review and rec. As I said before, I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It was absolutely hilarious! Yes, it is about vampires, despite it being a comedy. You want evidence of this? There is blood on the first page (I mean imaginary blood, given to you through written word, not actual blood. That would go against safety regulations). And there is quite a lot of blood throughout the entire book. Including one scene that may just scar you for life (Seriously, if the narrator warns you about this from the beginning of the book, to point at which it actually happens…you might wanna skip it). But enough of that, onto the summary:

It’s just another night in the never-ending life of Marty Kowalski. With his trademark slogan – “There’s a sucker born every minute” – this blood-drinking bachelor has managed to talk half the mortal world into joining the graveyard shift. Now vampires outnumber humans and Marty is ready to die- again. With modern conveniences like synthetic blood and Mr. Plasma machines the thrill of the hunt is gone. Especially for Marty, who’s started to wonder if he should settle down and maybe start a family. Hey, it could happen. But is this confirmed nightcrawler fully prepared to adopt –and raise- a human of his own?

I said this in my review of his other book, but I feel inclined to say it again: David Sosnowski is Brilliant. He took these solitary creatures of the night and modernized them. Giving them biology, enough psychological issues to gag a horse, and the most inventive (And laughably plausible) way for them to usurp society and start their own. Marty…hehe, he makes me giggle. Especially with his blunt way of speaking (My favorite line in this book is the first one of Chapter 4. It just takes you completely by surprise and sends you into convulsions of laughter). It’s also interesting how the story is essentially about him becoming a single parent to something that all of his neighbors would jump at the chance to eat if they knew about it. It makes him a (justifiably) paranoid parent to an extremely rebellious kid who can be very vocal (and more than a little passive aggressive) about her views on his paranoia. It makes for a lot of shenanigans and I don’t want to spoil anything that happens but…Elbows…lol if you do pick up this book you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about when you come to it

This is probably going to remain one of my favorite books of all time. Hell, it’s definitely my favorite vampire novel ever. I really recommend you find and read this book (I still see it everywhere so I know it’s available). It’s pretty much guaranteed to make you laugh and the characters are all really engaging.

*stops playing Alien Invaders Extreme 2 for one second* ...Oh...Hey! *glances back at DS Screen* ...I've had this game for 3 hours and I FUKKING LUV IT!!! I bought this originally for a few reasons:

1) I'm a sucker for nostalgia and I loved playing the original growing up.
2) I want to get back into gaming and this seemed like a good arcade-esque reintroduction.
3) PKMN Platinum is really starting to grind.

But, yeah, I need to put this down now and do some homework.(I also <3 the guy at EB who sold me this. We had a half-hour conversation about awesome games coming out or that have been recently released. I'll definitely be shopping there again huhuhu).

Well, work placement so far has actually been pretty fun. Despite having to get up at 6 every morning and out the door by 6:30 I'm enjoying it and I'm also learning a lot. I've done some design jobs, editing, proofing, digital printing and next week I'll actually get to see printing plates being made and watch the press run *dances*

My confidence isn't completely back but it's been bandaged and is healing up nicely so far.

I also have two squatters staying in my house right now...And I hates them. The guy smokes cigars and pot (Yeah =___= most people know how I feel about drugs) near constantly and he has an ABSOLUTELY STELLAR PERSONALITY (Sarcasm...Seriously, every time he opens his mouth I want to punch him in the face >___< ). And the girl speaks to me like I'm an idiot and I have no taste *looks at what she likes, most of it sucks* ...HAH!

I'm also still going through the motions of reinstalling everything on my other laptop. I'm still afraid it's gonna break again. All I can say is it better last until I grad. because after that I won't care, because I'll be buying a new DESKTOP computer (Most likely a Mac since it's better for my industry, but I may also just end up updating either of my PC laptops to make them less crappy *cough* Getting Windows 7 *cough* ).

I was going to go see Where the Wild Things Are today, but since I spent so much money today...it's best if I just stay home and do homework (AND THE ASSHOLE-SQUATTERS WON'T BE HERE!! So I'll actually be able to sit in my livingroom and watch TV!! *dances*). I'm also still writing more than drawing in my spare time and I game up with another plot bunny a few days ago that I'll start working on in a bit. It's a darker, more futuristic setting with a lot of sci-fi. I can see myself illustrating it, but not in a manga-style. It would be a more western-influenced style of drawing. So I'll have more fun developing that style.

I think that's all for now...Except for this: I am still planning on doing reviews and recs, I just need to rewrite them (They were on my laptop when it crashed)...I'll hopefully have one up before Halloween. After that I'll try and keep a schedule of 1/month, because that seems manageable.

I got my new HD and it's installed, so now I'm in the process of reinstalling all of my software and transferring settings. All I can say is I hope this thing NEVER BREAKS AGAIN!!! I mean, I know I didn't spend a lot of money on this thing, but that was the point. I need something that can get me through my last year of GD. I intend to buy a new DESKTOP MAC once I grad and have a job. I just can't afford anything that great right now.

My confidence is still kinda shot, especially since whatever I try to draw fails miserably. the only thing that turned out halfway decent was on Windows live Messenger last night with UC (Which she didn't get to see, because evidently it couldn't be sent DX)

I start work placement tomorrow, hopefully it won't be too stressful!!

I really hate life right now. First, my laptop broke....Yeah. Vista was trying to install updates, it didn't do it right and fried my Hard-Drive. I was on the phone with Dell Tech support for half the night yesterday and they're sending me a new HD. All I can say is THANK FUKKIN GAWD I had (most of) my stuff backed up!! If I had lost my website (which was due today) there was no way I could have rebuilt that in one night (especially without the software). The things that I did lose were the things I was working on at the very moment it crashed: my Rationale and my creative brief. Luckily I can turn out written stuff real fast so I was able to rewrite both, as well as format the second all within my first class this morning, but still...Fookin Vista >____<

On top of that I got a warning from my school because I missed two days (I WAS SICK!!) and my work placement people still haven't gotten back to me yet. Oh, AND I thought these two weeks would be somewhat relaxing but it looks like I'll be working from 8am to 430pm. PLUS the longer bus ride I have to take which means my day works out to about 12 hours every day...Then ON TOP OF THAT I have 4 projects to work on over these two weeks that are all due one week after I get back from work placement...Auuuuuuuuugggghhhhh ffff.

I think it's because of the stress but I've also lost a lot of confidence in myself. I look at my work and compare it to everyone else's and it just seems to suck by comparison. I don't quite feel like quitting, but I definitely feel discouraged.

Well, I'm off to study for the two tests I have tomorrow...Jya ne

Write out the names of your characters and explain:
1.) How you thought of their name.
2.) What made you create the character in the first place.

Well, since I have so many characters I’m just gonna pick 3. Someone of moderate age, one that’s brand new and one that feels ancient.

Sol Natiel

1.) “Sol” is a version of “Solomon.” The man who found him gave him that name because of curiosity, love of books and desire for knowledge. “Natiel” is an obscure angel name that was said to be written on a charm/talisman used for protection. His name took me a few months to figure out, but this new name wasn’t the hard thing to figure out. What was hard was coming up with his real name which he never knew and doesn’t actually learn of until he’s in his forties when he actually meets his parents: Réne Chevalier >X3.

2.) When I rewrote Rise for the hundredth time and not only gave Lucas parents but made them important characters they obviously needed names. Sol was pretty easy to figure out, Jenna took a little bit more time.

3.) He went from nameless, to having a name, to having his own backstory, to having his own series (Yeah, I gave him, Jenna and Al their own separate story from Rise. It’s kindof a Prequel but if I ever publish them you won’t have to read one to understand the other. They’re pretty separate)

4.) He’ll eat anything with coconut on it. He loves the taste for some reason (I hate it and so does his wife for that matter, but he enjoys it).



Efram Rookshire

1.) The first time I drew him “Efram” automatically popped into my head. And I decided that would be his name, even if it isn’t actually a real name (it is). As for his surname, that took a little work developing. It came into being as I developed his back story and family history.

2.) I needed a character to act as a companion for my main. Someone who would be by his side through pretty much anything. He also acts as a contrasting character to my main. They’ve had almost completely opposite lives.

3.) He’s only two months old but he has changed a lot in that time. And he changes a lot as the story goes on. He’ll probably continue to evolve but so far I really love his character and how he grows over time.

4.) He’s so new that I don’t really have any random fun facts for him yet



Mieko

1.) This was ages ago, back when thinking of a character’s name meant scrolling through name-sites, reading meanings and finding one I liked. I’ve developed more of a sophistication when it comes to naming since then and now my more recent characters have reasons for their names (As in whoever names them has the reason for their name) as opposed to using abject symbolism. When looking for his name I wanted something that was girly, but could be used as a boy’s name. Mieko means “Three Arrows” so it is a little masculine in that regard but “ko” makes it feminine, so it worked.

2.) Escapism.

3.) Mieko has changed so much and yet not at all. He’s evolved beyond his name and in a recent rewrite I had to come up with a way to tie it back in to the story so that it wasn’t just a random Japanese name I picked when I was in my early teens. His personality remains the same, but his character and the scope of his life has changed and evolved over time. His background of growing up in an abusive household is the same and so is his “Happy Ending.” Although, now his story moves beyond that supposed ending and continues on and gets quite solemn once again.

4.) When he was thirteen he got both his ears pierced, four times on the right and once on the left. He also bought a shit ton of hair dye and went a little nuts with it. Well, it began back in October of last year. Slowly, slowly, slowly, I've been less and less interested it. I'm at the point where now I don't even want to watch it and when I do actually put forth an effort to do so it barely holds my attention.

I'm talking about anime.

I still like some of it, but it's nowhere near as much as it was in my youth. I no longer obsess over it, and while I may still sound like I do, I really don't. The last one I watched was Kuroshitsuji back in July and honestly it mostly just pissed me off. There are a few classics (old favourites of mine) that I can still watch and do actually enjoy, but all of this new stuff coming out...kinda sucks.

And the sad thing is, now my disinterest is spreading into Manga. I LOVE reading and I've enjoyed comic books since before I could read. However, there is nothing new right now that holds my attention well. I am reading a few series, but (again) it is nowhere near as much as I used to. Something that added another nail in this particular coffin was the last chapter of Tsubasa released early this week (I know there's still an epilogue, but this is the last Official chapter) which I found to be really disappointing. I feel jipped; like I wasted the last six years of my life. I'm hoping that they'll at least give XXXHolic a good ending (considering that is one of my favorites of theirs), but after reading Tsubasa I am not holding my breath.

I do still like both manga and anime, but until something phenomenal comes along, I think I'm mostly going to stick with single volume stories and movies/ovas.

Now onto my art: I am trying my damnest to break away from the manga-style and develop my own. I know that since manga influenced me for so long and actually taught me how to draw a lot of things it was always be somewhat integrated into my style, but I would like to be less generic.

I've also been thinking about a lot my future lately. I have to start thinking about my career and being professional. As such...I'm uncertain about my future on DA. It is a good way to broaden my network so I probably will keep posting here, but at the same time I'll be strengthening my portfolio elsewhere. I haven’t been very active on DA lately which is largely due to school, but I’m also getting a lil bored with it. BUT I AM NOT LEAVING! So don’t freak out.

I think that's all I have to report for now and I should start doing my homework. 'Ta~!

School's begun to become hectic. Go figure. I've started writing up a few recs and I'll hopefully have one up soon. To kind of get the show on the road I'll post a few recs that don't really require much thought as to why I like them and why you should look into them.


Music Recs

Music is something that is unique to everyone. No two people have the exact taste in music. That being said, you may or may not like these songs I'm about to list. They're simply songs that appeal to me and I seem to like no matter the amount of time that has passed. First I'll begin with some older favs before moving on to some more recent ones.


Kill the Lights by The Birthday Massacre [link]

This is the first song of theirs that I heard, and it is still my favorite. I can listen to it at pretty much anytime, no matter how I feel and still like it.

I LUV this song! The beat, the lyrics, just everything. Luv Luv Luv. This is a song that makes me smile whenever it comes on.

I've known this song for years and it's still one that always inspires me to write and to draw. I sometimes tweak the song and speed it up, because it sounds even better when going full throttle hehe.

Ahhh, my first head-banger. Litteraly. I had fun head-banging to this when I was, what, twelve. I probably lost some brain-cells from doing that crap haha. But still, the song remains on my mp3 player because I do still like it. But it may not be something I can properly judge do to the whole Nostalgia Factor involved. Usually when I was listening to this song I was happy, so that does influence my opinion of it.

Well, I suppose some good news is that school isn't that bad...yet. At least it's manageable. I've finished one project already, I'm almost done another and I believe I should be able to work out a large chunk of the rest over the weekend.

Oh, and I got a phone call while out on a field trip today (A Heritage Village, in a thunderstorm, trying to draw, being eaten alive by mosquitoes...MUCH FUN!!). My laptop will arrive on Sept. 15th between the hours of 9-5. Only problem with this is I'M NOT HOME! I'm at school from 7-6 (that's factoring in bus-rides) and I don't think anybody else will be home to sign for it either. SO, I have to make my way down to Pembina Village to pick the bloody thing up Wednesday morning before I go to school *sigh* Oh well, at LEAST I WILL HAVE A LAPTOP THAT WORKS PROPERLY!!

I have been drawing a lot since school started, but that's a given since it's all school stuff that I'm working on. When I get around to it I'll update, but I can't say exactly when I'll post anything (Ahh, the life of a GD student...it isn't much of one).

Oh, and 9 was...decent. Visually it was AMAZING!!! I mean, DAMN! Shane Acker has one hell of a good imagination! The characters were interesting, but...really underdeveloped ( I <3 7~! As well as 3&4...if they were more developed :\). And *grips head* I thought I was going to go deaf after listening to the SFX. Damn Silver City and having the sound cranked WAY TOO LOUD!! The plot was the only major-fail in my eyes. It basically just took the 11 minute short it was based upon...and lengthened it to and hour and a half...much much fail. But again, overall it was decent. If you're a fan of animation then I definitely recommend this to you. It will blow you away. If you like seeing shit blow up, bad ass action scenes, and scary "monsters" then you'll enjoy 9. If you're a stickler for plot (And I usually am), then you maaay not like this so much.

Also, Supernatural surprised me this week with the season opening. I was going into this season expecting it to be BAD. I didn't get my hopes up at all, I was prepared for complete CRAP. What I got was AWESOMENESS (and a couple bullshit-plotholes, but I'm willing to overlook them for a few reasons)!! Cas is back~! And he kicks ASS!!! The Angels are complete pricks (Sans Cas, but I expected that. I hate angels). And Lucifer...May actually be INTERESTING. The character at least shows promise and reaaaally knows how to fuck with people (Seriously, some of that was unnecessarily cruel DX! ). Not to mention it had one of the funniest moments in the history of the show in it:

Becky.

The Slash (Wincest) fangirl.

Hooooly crap, I laughed my ass off the entire time she was on screen. I still laugh just thinking about it! All I can say is these writers really know who watches their show (I'm not a shipper of Wincest, but I am aware of exactly how many people are). It was funny when they referenced it in the last season, but this time was truly epic. Becky epitomizes every fangirl out there. Fuuuuunny stuff. can't wait to see what happens next (Although this angst-fest needs to stop, and soon. Seriously, I want them to be brothers again! )

It honestly feels like I never left. Those months in between last year and this...feel like they never happened. My second day back I felt just like I did at the end of last semester: Tired, with a heavy work load and very little time to do it. In fact, right now I'm taking a break from doing homework to type this. Joy of Joys (At least this is my last year of GD)

I'm still happy to be back, and I'm REALLY going to enjoy most of my classes (Rendering for Illustration & Publishing Design). Certain ones (Creative Imaging + Campaign Strategy) I won't enjoy as much, but at least they'll be informative.

When I went looking for a computer I had...a problem with the sales reps at Best Buy (They've lost any future business from me) so I ended up ordering a Dell online. It's being made right now, and I'll probably get it around the beginning of October. In the meantime if I have any spare time I'll use the computers at school to assemble my files/drawings so I'll still have something to Post on DA. I can't wait to get my lappy, though~! I shall have a ton of fun with it when I get it.

I checked my laptop (My current one) for the first time today...It only has 504Mb of Ram...I'm honestly SHOCKED it lasted this long. Especially with that CD project I did on it last year. By all rights it should have died then!

On another note: ASJHLOUIFDWSDFAHDVAG!!! I AM SO HYPED FOR 9!!!! I'm going to get my ticket tomorrow and on Wednesday I'm heading strait for the theater after school~! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!! *hyped hyped HYYYYPED*

First an update: I haven't gotten my new Laptop yet, since My roommate skipped out on giving me a ride yesterday. Now I'm probably getting one next weekend. I'm hoping school won't dive right into the electronic medium during the first week. Hopefully it'll all be receiving course outlines and revision.

I got a chance to read over the summer. It’s the first real chance I’ve had to sit down and enjoy literature since before I moved to Winnipeg and started school. True, I read here and there during the school year, but nothing really outside of manga and fanfiction. It was nice to sit down and read a BOOK again. Something with an original, developed storyline and characters…Well, most of them had that. Anyways, there are some books that I REALLY enjoyed and I’d love to share them with you so that you could find them and enjoy them as well.


Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

My fellow Canadians have probably already read the short-story version of this in High School as it’s a part of the English curriculum. I remember the story with fondness and yes it made me cry. You may have to search around the bookstore/library a bit because I’m almost certain none of them file it in the same area (I found mine in the Psychology section).

This is a story told from the perspective of a man – Charlie Gordon – who has been chosen to take part in an experiment that artificially raises intelligence. It is told mostly (he copies a few newspaper clippings into it) through his own written word by use of “rogress Reports” which he has to write to track his improvement. As it goes along you see how this surgery changes his life completely, but is it for better or for worse?

This book is DEEP! But not so much that you can’t follow it. It’s a very good read and evokes a lot of genuine emotion from you in relation to what’s happening. And I absolutely love the duality of Charlie. And, yes, THIS BOOK MADE ME CRY TOO!! (both during the story and at the very same spot at the end that I already knew was coming from the S.S. version). It’s pretty much an expanded version of the original, but it is so worth it to read again. So very worth it.





Rapture by David Sosnowski

If you can actually find a copy of this book, I really recommend you get it. It took me three years to find a (second-hand) copy, but it most certainly did not disappoint. Albeit was different than what I expected, but that didn’t make it any less good.

The story centers around the two main characters and their progression through life. It focuses on the parts of their lives that led them to where they are today and follows them as they face their problems and grow from it. Okay, that sounds a little standard and boring. What if I tell you that they’re Angels?

Angelism is a wonderful, terrible new virus spreading about. It starts like the flu, turns your skin green…and ends in wings. Now as this virus spreads it creates a new race of people who look like angels on the outside, but certainly don’t feel like it inside. What’s more, Pedestrians – regular people – grow envious and some even go for the jugular, whether to kill or contract depends on the person. I've been writing a lot lately. And while I've mostly been developing on my new story I have touched on Stalked a bit. So I felt the need to do a character meme. Since most of my characters for the new story don't have names, I figure I'll do Seneca. He's interesting and, as I've come to remember from writing about him again, VERY FUKKIN SCARY. I feel so sorry for my Protagonist Kasumi for having to face this guy. Sorry, Kas



1. What is your character's name?
Seneca…Just Seneca. He was born in a time when there was no need for surnames.

2. What is your character's name in another language?
It means “Old” in Latin. Given how ancient he is I thought it appropriate. Since it’s pretty much impossible to know how people were named (Due to a lack of written word) in the time-period that he was alive in I can’t give him something from then. I got as close as I could with Latin being one of the oldest written languages. I wanted to give him a name with vowels (That’s why I didn’t go any older than that). Plus I had to give him something from the rough area that he was from.

3. How old is he/she?
As previously stated, ANCIENT.

4. What is your character's race/species?
Ah, he was born human. At about the age of twenty he was turned into a vampire and has since become something that no one quite understands. He still has all of the strengths of a vampire, without many of the detriments (Sans still needing to drink blood to survive). He can go out in the sun like a normal human, whereas all others would be reduced to ash. If there were any others like him then they were killed (And most likely by Seneca himself o.O )

5. Do they have a crush?
No.

6. Do they have many friends?
HAH. None.

7. What planet is your character from?
Earth

8. Does your character like to eat?
*nervous laughter* I’d say he rather enjoys it… Provided it’s “interesting enough” for him.

9. What's his/her favorite food?
Therianthropes.

10. What's his/her favorite drink?
.....Therianthrope blood.

11. Is your character annoying?
I’d wouldn’t say he annoys me. He scares the shit out of me, but he isn’t annoying.

HAH…Yes. However this person has a serious case of Stockholm Syndrome.

14. Is your character hated?
By everyone who knows him (or even knows of) him, yes.

15. Is he/she emo/goth?
*scoff* No.

Since he’s been with both genders, I’d have to say Bi.

Considering how much he’s desensitized quite well. I don’t even think he feels that many emotions anymore.

You could fill a library- no, SEVERAL libraries with all the crap he’s done! And at least four of those would only be filled with Homicide cases (All unsolved, or if they are solved, then the wrong person was arrested)!!

No. I don’t think he has to. The world grew up around him. If he was curious enough about anything to want to know how it works then he would have researched it.

Yeah, I told myself I was going to update every day until school started. And since I forgot to update yesterday I was going to give you guys a double-update today (And it would have been plentiful, because one was a SPAM) buuuut...It seems my laptop can no longer open Photoshop without dying ...

That "Before Flight" that I posted a few days ago was apparently all it could take. I can open Photoshop (it takes a half-hour) but I can't do anything in it because it creates an insta-death with my lappy....*sigh*

BUT, it won't last long because with this final nail in the coffin it pretty much cements the fact that I NEED A NEW LAPTOP!!! And so, since everything's on sale this week I shall be going to check out and purchase a new laptop. This new one will only be used for school and art stuff (I don't even think I'll go on the internet with it =__= ) and I'll continue to use my old one for everyday things (Until it completely dies...)

Sooo, yes...Once I get my new lappy I shall get right back on updating everything. In the mean time, though, I'll draw lots more stuff before school starts!! TT^TT

Or at least that's what it seemed like.

I know I said I'd update last night but after I ate and put my stuff down I kinda passed out...for fourteen hours . I'm glad I did though because I needed sleep; only having gotten three hours the previous day (one of which I got on the plane when I also passed out ;; ). I was seriously lacking some good snooze-time, but now I'm recharged and ready to...well, ready to do the mountain on stuff that piled up for me to do within the next two weeks.


How was my "Vacation?" Well...I don't really know. I mean, it wasn't bad but I didn't have that much fun while there either. Mostly I was just left alone. It gave me lots of time to get my own stuff done, and yet I could have got a lot more done if my step-mom and dad had stopped making food that I am ALLERGIC TO! I mean, DAMN, when I ask "Is ___ in this?" I'm not being a picky eater, I'm being SAFE! So I also spent about a week of my time rolling around unable to do much other than roll around *claps* Thanks Nicole and dad (I started buying/making my own meals thereafter so the second week wasn't painful).


I got to spend a lot of time with my younger sister while there ( the one that's three years my junior) and we managed to get along quite well. I suppose it's because we have something to relate to one another now. We both went through a terrible ordeal that no one in our family seems to understand exactly how damaging it was. But whereas I've removed myself from the situation by pretty much skipping town, my sister's still stuck there for another year before she too can head off to college.


As for my baby sister...I don't know what people want me to say! I mean, she's a baby; she eats, giggles and poops! I don't feel like I can bond with her yet...Whereas my sister now wants a baby herself >__>. I dunno, I'm programed differently than most of my family =___= (Which I don't necessarily believe to be a bad thing). She's cute, but that's about all I can say on the matter.


Also, every time I go to Dawson I try to spend as much time with my dog as possible, because every time I see him it feels like it might be the last time. And I found out this time it very well may be...because he may have cancer . He's fourteen years old so I've pretty much been waiting for something to happen or be wrong with him for the last four years, but now that it actually may come to fruition it doesn't help that I was aware of the possibility. I'm still really sad about my puppy dying


I did manage to get a lot of drawing and (surpisingly) writing done while I was there. So I'll have a steady stream of updates to post for a while which I'll try to continue. However once school starts I most likely won't be able to once again. AUGUST 31ST IS COMING TOO QUICKLY!! (and YES, I start school are the 31st *starts an Uproar*. My roommate starts ten days after I do and her programs end two months before mine! BULLSHIT!!!)


I looked at the poll I put up while on vacation in regards to what I should draw over the rest of the summer and I tried to work it into everything I drew while in Dawson. Since people want to see more OCs I drew quite a few of them, I've drawn up two "Something New"s which you'll see shortly ^_~, a few Fanarts, I penciled out two more comics about things that happened so I need to ink/color them now that I'm back. I also sketched out some patchwork designs (since I couldn't actually do them without my laptop) and drew a few realistic things while there as well. What I'm most surprised at though is my notebook. Update

My timetable went online just now. As it turns out I go back to school on August 31 *cries* That means I only have a WEEK before school starts when I get back. Waaahhhh!! This sucks!!!

Well, I have one week left of work and then I'm off to Dawson for two weeks. I'll be leaving on August 1st and back on the 16th. So during that time I will be largely on hiatus, as I'm not bringing my laptop with me and my dad says he has flaky internet connection. So while I'm away I won't be able to respond to comments or anything; know that I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not available

oh, and ZEE PLAHN failed DX. I still haven't been productive, but that should change when I go away for those two weeks. Because there is NOTHING to do in Dawson (Other than bar-hopping...which I'm seriously starting to consider =___= ). Sure, I'm going there to meet my baby sister and see some family again since I won't see them again (more than likely) until I grad next year. But family will definitely not be taking up my entire time there. I mean, they all work! I'll be left alone most of the time, I'll see them, maybe, 5 hours a day... I kinda...did exactly what i planned on NOT-DOING last night (namely watching vids and doing very little drawing). *smacks forehead* I need to just...not turn on my laptop. that seems like the only way to stop myself from being distracted so easily.


I'm going to try to draw as much as possible. I'll be trying to draw as much as possible. I managed to get my hands on this book - [link] - yesterday and it's great for studying facial features~! I'm also going to get myself in a mindset when drawing to do full illustrations. Not just poses or waist-up busts. I'm gonna say I'll try and do one a week, but the only time I know for certain that I'll draw is on the weekends.

I've been thinking about it for a while now...I haven't really been doing much of anything since summer started. I planned on drawing, studying different arts and brushing up on languages. I've only dabbled in these things here and there over the past two months. And now It's JULY and I feel like I haven't gotten anything accomplished.

So I'm devising a plan to force myself to do stuff. I'll make a regular schedule and do certain things on certain days (I'll refrain from making exact times for these things because time has a way of messing with me). And I'm going to start by doing something maybe a little extreme this coming weekend, like have a 24hr comic day where I do nothing but work on a narrative from start to finish and then at the end of the 24 hours I have to post whatever I've done. Just something to get the ball rolling.

I'm also going to be experimenting in some other traditional mediums and maybe try to get better at using digital (This one's a big maybe, though because my laptop could die X__x). So, look forward to the next while folks~! I'll be posting my diabolical plot for what I shall do this weekend sometime Friday.

One day a small cat decided to climb up a local mountain. She set out very early and after climbing all day, with only brief pauses she found she was able to pass the half-way point and the peak was now in sight. So she rested for the night. Little did she realize that she was sleeping on loose ground and over the course of her sleep she slid back down the mountain. Upon waking she discovered this, but was still determined to reach the top. This time she reached the 3/4 mark before she settled down for the night.

It rained that night.

And when the cat opened her eyes the next mourning she found that not only was she back at the bottom of the mountain she was also several kilometers downstream. It gave the cat pause for thought, "Should I continue this seemingly endless struggle, or give up? Which would be better for me?"

This is an analogy I came up with for my job. I wanted to draw it out as a comic, but HAH, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon!! I swear, since I started working overnight my daytime co-workers have just been LEAVING ALL THE FUCKING CLEANING FOR ME TO DO!!!!!! I AM ONE PERSON!! PLEASE DO YOUR JOB YOU STUPID, INCOMPETANT, LAZY *RANT RANT RANT*

Just in case you're wondering whyyyyy I'm so pissed off:

My first week working there I had an average of 10 carts of stuff to put away.

During the second week the average increased to 20.

Yesterday I went in and there were 43 and NOT ONLY were there 43 carts piled to the heavens with crap for me to put away, but they were all Unsorted and more than half the clothes weren't even on HANGERS!!!!

needless to say "I want to quit" left my lips a few times over the course of the night. And I also had a mantra of "fuck you" running through my head the entire day. =___=

And now I have to go in again in just over an hour...




Please don't let it have increased to 60....

Sooo, now that I have a job 5/7 days of the week I'm working from 11pm-7am and I'm usually asleep from 10am-5pmish so I'm rarely ever on my computer. And even when i do come on i just briefly glance at the number of messages I have and then maybe briefly glance over a few of them. I will get around to replying eventually, but probably not until the weekend.


Then again, I may not even be that active over the weekend because...SAWAH NOW HAZ POKEMON: PLATINUM!!!!!! *spasms, rolls around, dies happy* FINALLY FINALLY FIIIINAAALLLY!!!! Cam,

I have a "file" on my desktop .rar format with 0kb on it that I CAN NOT DELETE. I can't open it either. Everything I do it tells me "Error deleting File or Folder. cannot Delete File: cannot read from the source disk or file."

My laptop forced a shut down/restart and I'm worried it's because of this file as it's the only abnormality I've noticed. I'm running my virus-scanner right now just in case, but please get back to me asap TT^^^TT I Don't want my lappy to break (Mostly i don't want to pay to have it repaired).

Actually, when I saw this meme I marveled at how good it is. It really makes you think about your character and develop them. I'm probably gonna save this as a blank template to fill out when I'm creating characters/writing their stories.

-I don't think anyone would bat an eye. He looks quite normal.

-lololol No. No, he is most definitely not "normal"

-His Eyes; A deep crimson which he inherited from his mother.

-Hell. YES.

-Not really. He's actually quite docile. Even when fighting for his life (and his loved one's lives) he's able to remain mostly calm and rational. It's probably something he got, or learned, from his father who is quite practiced in maintaining a level-head


2.) Does your character ever get depressed?
-A few times. When he was younger he would feel depressed because he was so isolated from everyone. He felt put out when he left home. The only time was ever gravely depressed was when a friend of his died and he blamed himself for it. Took a bitch-slap from Rio to snap him (at least somewhat) out of it.


3.) Leader or Follower?
-He really would rather leave the responsibility to others and follow their lead, but he finds himself having to step into the role of Leader more than he's comfortable with. He gets better at leading as he grows, but in the beginning he still relies heavily on others who he believes have more authority than him.


4.) What is the main aspect(s) of his/her personality?
-He is very insecure about who he is; this insecurity causes him to need to help others. he can't stand the thought of letting someone who's relying on him down. He is also very loyal to those close to him and oftentimes wears his heart on his sleeve in their presence. He tries not to brood and to find reason in situations beyond his control.

-He's the only child (so far) of Sol Natiel and Jenna (Jennavieve) Natiel. Both are still alive, and his parents are actually expecting another child in the near future. (or should I say "Children" They end up having twins, but i haven't named either of them yet XP)

Actually, his grandparents are also alive but he doesn't know that. And that's because his father doesn't know who his parents are as he never met them.

-He's with a large group of people. He's out to Save the World~! lol, Actually that's not his intent, nor is that what his goal is, but in the end it's what he accomplishes I should say instead he's out to "Change the World" which he also accomplishes.

-Ahahahaha!! Welllll, let's see...He lit one of his classmates on fire (accidentally) with magic and hasn't gone to a school since (Was instead home-schooled by his father). He's almost be killed several times. He very nearly had his Soul Ripped out of him at one point. One of his companions died and there was nothing he could do to prevent it. Upon reflection this year went by REALLY FAST. It feels like I came to Winnipeg, blinked, and now it's summer again. I mean, holy crap! Hopefully next year will go by just as quickly and then I can move on with my life~! I can start a career, get out of debt ( TT^^^^TT ), move....somewhere...Still don't know where I'll end up when I graduate. I kinda wanna go back to BC (but go somewhere in the Okanogan or Banff area), but if I get into books then I'll probably end up somewhere around Missisauga...But i also want to continue moving east. I want to experience the maritimes at least once X3.


SUMMER VACATION!!!!! YEAAAAY!!! Of course, now this means I have to find a job. Originally I was going to start doing my job hunting today, but I feel like I've dislocated my arms after carrying all my art crap home, despite the fact that a nice elderly lady (SO NICE!) drove me home from practically where I got off the bus. You know, I rely on the kindness of strangers too much...one day I'm gonna get it =___=. Anyways, yeah, starting the job hunting tomorrow! Today I'm going to clean/organize my room and maybe start working on some of my summer projects (personal projects, NOT school-related ones!!)


Well, over the summer I plan on doing a lot of things in my free time. When I'm not working, I will be either studying, drawing, reading, or watching tv . It's gonna be greaaaaaat~~~~!!! (I also want to go back to BC for maybe a week sometime so i can see my baby sister CC ).


I've already decided this is the summer where I will FINISH a comic! I will start and I will finish one of my one-shots that I've written (or that someone else has written for me, if it pans out that way) before school starts back up in September. This one shot will be between 40 and 60 pages, so in order to warm up for that project I will be doing 3 or 4 smaller comics consisting of maybe 2-8 pages. These smaller ones will be used for practicing my art, paneling, and storytelling techniques and will be based on short stories that I've read (and when i do post them I would appreciate if anyone recognizes the stories that they tell me what they're called and who they're by, because I'm going off memory for them. My copies are in storage =___= ). So look forward to those in the near future.


I am also seriously considering starting up commissions over the summer. Whether I do or not will depend on how well my job pays, because time will not be an issue anymore. At least while I'm working I'LL HAVE A WEEKEND!!!! *dies*

I'm more than satisfied with my grades and my school assignments, but everything else....I think I've forgotten how to draw of my own free will. I don't like anything I draw, or even if I like part of it, I hate the rest *painful sigh* This feels terrible... I hope I can overcome this soon. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get back that drawing "spark?" What do you guys do when you're in a slump to bring yourself out of it?



On a happier note I've been pretty lucky since I moved to Winnipeg. I've only had one terrible encounter with a mean crazy person, but the rest of the time I've only encountered Happy Crazy people. I was randomly hugged and read poetry, I had a guy drive slowly along beside me until I looked at him and then he warned me that the street was flooded so some people might not be so considerate and soak me (I already knew the street was full of water which is why I was walking far away from it, but... """OTL), and then I had a nice conversation with a lady, so she bought me a book (don't even know her name O.o ). It'll be great if this is how I live out my days in Winnipeg - only meeting the happy Crazies, but that probably won't happen. There's probably some psycho hiding behind my house, waiting for me to drop my guard just so he can beat me to a bloody pulp =___= (Actually, that kind of luck has been my Roommate's for the past three weeks. She's had a terrible terrible time TT^^^TT )

As per usual my life is mostly school. I just recently finished 3 giant projects (all due within 3 days of each other =___= ) So my stress level has gone down A LOT since then!! The rest of my assignments for the year seem pretty strait forward so they aren't stressing me out too much. And I'm almost done my VSB so that's also a huge relief *deep cleansing breath* I feel good. Not great, but good


Lesse, what else is going on? I finished watching the entire series of Hey Arnold! and I have to say it was great~! I had fond memories of the show, but I never realized how good the show was exactly. And after getting back into the fandom it makes me sad that we'll probably never see the conclusion, but there's still a slight ray of hope so maybe someday in the future TJM will be made~! _{and maybe, possibly, but not likely the Patakis I luv Helga. It would be awesome to see her as a teen X3}


I'm also about to start watching Kuroshitsuji (YEAY! It's DONE! I can watch it strait through!!!) since I'll have time in the near future. I can't wait to gop at Sebastien's....quirks (I love him, but MAN he scares me sometimes XD;;;;; ).


I've also had a bit more dosage of Pretty Cure lately. I saw the 4Kids version on YTV Friday......*rips off ears* MAKE IT STOP!!!!!! I've also seen the New Pretty Cure (Fresh) and...I dunno how I feel about it. I mean, there are a lot of things I like about it but...The attack names are LAME and that could be enough to keep me away from it considering you hear these attacks every episode...yeah, might steer clear of that for a while.... >___>

Well, let's see, what to talk about? As always I'm busy with school (but I have been fairly productive this weekend, so it's not as overwhelming). We have a project right now where we're redesigning a CD for an existing band. I was given "Hellogoodbye" to do, and our mock-ups for the CD design is due tomorrow, so I really need to get a jump on that. And after that I have three weeks to complete the final product. And with the idea I have That'll be a ton of work...So there's a lot to do in that regard


Woah...My computer's screen just went black O___O I had to restart it....Nyeeeeeh Plz don't break down computer!! That's the last thing I need right now!!!! TT^^^^^^TT *bordering on a panic attack now* Cam, can you tell me if this sounds like anything bad, so I know asap whether or not I need to take this thing in to a shop???


*tries to breathe again* Ahhhh, what else can I talk about? I started watching "Hey Arnold!" again recently. I forgot how good this show was! With all of the crap cartoons being released nowadays it's so hard to forget that "Golden age of cartoons" where producers knew what kids wanted to watch and gave it to us (whereas now they give us stuff like "Spongebob"). I'm halfway through the first season of HA and I've actually seen all of the episodes I've watched so far previously (That's odd for me. Usually I miss out on half a series before I get the box set or DL it or whatever O.o). Although, when I get into the later episodes there will probably be more episodes that I missed...Since at that time I didn't have a TV >___>


Also, last night around 11pm I was hit by a huge wave of inspiration and came up with yet another storyline. This one's shorter and pretty different from anything else I've written to date. It's also filled with a lot of UST lol XD I hope I'll have time in the future to develop it more and actually draw out the characters. Speaking of that, I have to decide which style I want to draw them in . Eh, probably something japanese influenced, since that's how I first imagined the characters.

I'm not religious, but i do study all kinds of mythology extensively (haven't had time to do so in recent years, but someday I'll start up again). Angelic mythology is something I studied (before all of this new age crap started coming out, most of which is bullshit) and that's where the first part of my online alias comes from. Sariel was the angel of death, I chose that for it's similarity to my own name, among other reasons. The "Hope" comes from what I was feeling at the time I joined: "Maybe this can help."

Hmm...Yugioh, Harry Potter *hangs head in shame*, anything CLAMP related.

Last year I started watching shows I remembered from my childhood that I wanted to reacquaint myself with or start watching (since I knew of them, but didn't have the resources to actually watch them back then). A road of Nostalgia, so to speak. It started with Digimon and has gone through many other series. Such as: Sailor Moon, Mummies Alive, Pokemon, Hamtaro, W*I*T*C*H, Wolf's Rain, DBZ (I watched a few episodes a while back, there's no way I have time to go through the entire series, and besides remember it pretty well ), and now the most recent is Pretty Cure. I finished watching the first season last night and now I'm moving into the second (which I haven't seen - outside of the movies - so it'll all be new). After that I think I'm gonna sit down and watch Danny Phantom (even if it's a more recent favorite. I LOVED that show, but I never had time to watch it, so I missed half of it) and then possibly Code Lyoko (since I've been told by a friend that it's actually good and does develop a plot at some point ) After I finish with these shows I'll start watching more recently made stuff. And that list of recent stuff that I want to watch is HUGE, so I'll definitely have lots to watch during my free time for a long time to come.


Junjou Romantica ended TT^TT...I r so emo over that, but all good things must come to an end (Although the manga is still going ). However, 5Ds is still going strong and this show is still EPICALLY AMAZING!!!! It's so hard waiting a week for every new episode of this series DX, but I can cope, it's not like I don't have a shortage of things to do/watch anyways


Right now Aside from school and finding a job, I'm also studying on my own time. I have a Kanji dictionary and I'm determined to learn every single character by the end of the year. My plan so far is to learn 10 a day...seems to be working so far since when I go to read anything in japanese I'm having to look up less and less stuff I still have a lot to learn, but I am going to make a more conscious effort now to become fluent :wo0t: (and then I can move onto one of the other languages I want to learn )


Since I have so much to do drawing things outside of schoolwork is going to take a backseat again for a while, but I am going to try and maintain my DA gallery and submit at least 3 images a month (so far this month I has submitted 0....need to work on that ;; ). And I do have some projects on the back burner, simmering at the moment, it's all a matter of finding the time/inspiration to work on them.

From my holiday "Vacation" ....It was more stressful than relaxing tho =__= I AM HAPPY TO BE BACK IN WINNIPEG!! *passes out in her own BED* I Never thought I'd miss this bed! Sleeping on couches for a week in houses where people get up before dawn made me crave this though! I missed my uncomfortable spring-bed and my cold room! At least here I have PRIVACY!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!


But at least I'm not the only one who didn't enjoy my "vacation" in my family. My dad was stressed from beginning until end and is now (like me) happy to be home It's already been decided that I'm not going there for the next holiday season. In fact, I'm probably not going to be going back there until I graduate from my Graphic Design Program. And at that time it will only be to get my stuff out of storage and move to...wherever I'll be moving. I haven't quite decided yet; although my destination will probably be decided by my job....And speaking of jobs I need one!! It's going to suck going to school and working, but I really do need the money....next semester is going to be hard >__<


Well I have one week left before school (or a little less than a week actually) and I think for the remainder of my free time I'm just going to sit around the house, watch anime and read. I may very well finish reading the Alex rider series during this break (or I'm going to try to, since I NEVER have time to read during school DX), I read "Eagle Strike" while waiting for my planes to arrive and during flight and I finished it mid-flight on the way back...which left me with nothing to do since "Scorpia" Is HERE in my room!! It has since been moved from my bookshelf to my desk and I'm gonna start reading it in a minute; I wanna know more about Alex's kick-ass dad!!! luv luv luv this series~! And yet, NOOOOESS!!! Yassen's dead DX I liked him!!


I tried drawing a few times during my vacation, but everything I did was made of FAIL because I was always distracted But I will be drawing more before I head back to school.


And on a final note Junjou Romantica is OVER!!!! I MISS IT ALREADY!!! And Meh fekkin GID the last part of the finale almost gave me a heart attack!!! What is with that cliche!? WHAT! WHAT I ASK YOU!!! Why does something like that have to happen in almost every romance series out there!!?? (Funny thing is, I read a romance manga immediately afterwards...and the same scenario occurred =__. If you watched the Finale you can probably guess what I'm talking about. I won't spoil it for people who haven't by saying exactly what it was.

I've been saying this over and over again since last week ('cept then it was "three weeks"). Somehow I think it's getting me through it. I don't feel as stressed...plus, knowing that I'm ahead of most of my class (I've been told only 3 people are as far as I am at the moment) kind of helps relax me too, because it means I have ample time to finish (sorta) and I don't have to rush anything (at least not too much). Three weeks before I can relax...


*constantly hammering the "M" key* wtf, it's sticking...Great >___> That's just what I need when I'm about to write a huge report; sticky keys...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm only getting an "m" 1 out of 3 times I hit it....I'll have to get that fixed =__= dammit, more money down the drain.


I found some interesting things today, too. I was going through some of my papers that I brought with me, because I was looking for an old character design that i wanted to revise and I found more than I thought I would. I found several mangas that I had written, drawn and even coloured hidden amongst some of my Bristol. These are all things I had drawn between 3-5 years ago. It was certainly an interesting find; Some of them were actually quite good, but then again I wanted to burn some of then on sight because my art was appalling It's definitely neat finding things like that Especially when you're not expecting it.


On another note I have been drawing a lot on the side lately. I just haven't drawn anything DA worthy. Mostly just concept art and character designs for Rise (But for a few other stories I've written as well, plus some fanart). I may get around to posting something soon, but I can't guarantee anything

Upon reflection there are a couple of things I would have changed, but overall I am still very pleased with myself and I hope I get a good mark on it!!....I had better get a good mark since I cut off the end of my finger making the damn thing (Yeah, it hurt but I freaked out my classmates more that I, myself, freaked out).


Although, this doesn't mean I don't still have homework...au contrair, I have quite a bit, but I plan to get as much of it as I possibly can get done within the next four days. I have 10ish sketchbook assignments to do, a guache gray-scale to paint (DEMON PAINT!!! DX ), finish my research on flexography and type up my final notes, finish my recipe cards design (have to do this monday. Don't have the software at home DX), study for my two upcoming tests, finish my value comps and then start (and finish) the final for that, and...I think that's it...*thinks* seems like that's it....guess I should practice my 3-p perspective so I can maybe do a bit of that on Monday too...OH! Wait, right~! I still have to scan all of those magazines for my Visual Sourcebook (I ain't cuttin em up! Those magazines were expensive!!)..................*passes out on desk* I made myself dizzy writing all of this down. It feels so overwhelming once it's on paper....THIS IS WHY I SHOULD NOT MAKE LISTS!!!


Tomorrow I'll be doing a resume run and hopefully this time the buses will be functioning properly....Friday i went to go buy KungFu Panda after school and I spent 50 minutes in the cold, waiting for a bus. When one finally came he only went half-way and told us all to GTFO because the bus was going out of service.....Then all of us had to wait another twenty minutes for the next bus. Needless to say I was LIVID You would think Winnipeg had never experienced winter before



It finally snowed here...well, first it rained frozen water down upon us, THEN it snowed, so there's ice (and scary black ice) EVERYWHERE!! But, I have not slipped yet. I think it has something to do with my boots...that and I'm hyper-attentive to the ground when I walking now (because I know there's ice).


Y'know, no matter what bad stuff happens to me during winter I always enjoy it. I just feel more peaceful and relaxed when the air is below zero. Maybe it's because I was born in November? (Oh, yeah~! My birthday's in three weeks I keep forgetting Is anybody gonna draw me anything as a present ? ) Actually I think it has something to do with the snow itself. If I wake up and see there's snow (first snowfall~! Whee~~!) it always brightens my day. And, of course, now I wake up knowing that there's snow on the ground. So I feel really peaceful from the moment I open my eyes in the morn. I just really like Winter...I guess I'm weird like that


I've done quite a bit of writing these past few days (no extracurricular drawing tho, that has to wait until I tackle my homework). It kind of seems pointless atm since I don't have time to draw anything I write, maybe I will in the near future...? no, I don't think so....

But you know...In retrospect I probably could have drawn last night considering I was up until 3am (4am if you ignore the time-change). I have NO IDEA why I was so restless last night, and I was completely wide awake no matter what I tried ;___; But instead of drawing I wrote...Nyu, I'm not writing for NaNoWriMo I was just writing what I usually write (plotlines, character sheets, chapter outlines for my manga ideas). Last night i was mostly working on a group of characters from Rise that I love X3. But now I've gotten their history, entire outlines throughout Rise, and how they grow as characters completely written (Well at least I got something accomplished in my not-drawing time XD;;;; ).


With all of this work I've been putting into Rise lately, as well as two other stories that have never been mentioned on DA before XP, I really want to start drawing ONE of them at least........*SIIIIIIGH* It's something to put on my list I suppose =___= This list is eating my soul......


'Nother pointless ranting journal, but I've been feeling like I should try and update DA weekly, so since I don't have any art finished for it this week (Not yet at least. We'll see what happens after I finish my school-shopping, sketchbook assignments, and Advert Assignment...) I figured I would update my journal at least.

On another note, my DA ID is now out of date, because I HAZ A STARDUST DRAGON CARD!! And a Red Dragon Archfiend......I got them in the same set....Talk about dumb luck, ne? 2/5 the rarest cards in the series in one shot? (Although I don't think they should be considered "Rare" since you can buy the cards in collector's tins...That makes them fairly common to me....). Now I need to edit my old ID or make another new one............'Nother thing to go on the list *bangs head on desk*.........*repeatedly* X___x;;;

Turns out the original Momentum was built underneath SATELLITE not Neo-Domino, which would actually explain A Lot, at least why Satellite is in ruins now. And I think it's really interesting how it works of a positive charge (or is supposed to) and the reason why it blew up is because for some reason it was running off a negative one. But, I know that's not the whole story. Godwin never divulges the full "truth" when he says he is going to. What an evil, manipulative old man XP


Since the setting of Momentum 1 has changed it pretty much changes everything and if I wanted to continue with that Doujin I would have to either re-write the entire thing or just ignore the change and do it anyways...at this point I think I'm just gonna take all of the cutesy parts that I've written and draw them up. Because I don't have any ideas for a rewrite yet But it's only been *looks at clock* nine hours since I watched ep.30 and 8 of those were spent asleep, so I haven't had much thinking time as of yet We'll just have to see how it all turns out.


They seriously need to show Yusei's past~! Whenever they have parts where someone asks hims something that could be potentially important and revealing ("Why do you ride a D-wheel?")it's always asked by someone he doesn't trust (Godwin >__> ) so we get a "I don't have to answer you" reply coupled with a glare...srsly, I wanna know Yusei's past already!! And at this point it had better be something important if they're fighting this hard to keep us in the dark >__<;;;

And I'm still not sure how I feel about Jack, I seem to go from hating him to sorta-liking him every few episodes or so. Plus I think he's much more agreeable with this broken arm lol. and I can't help looking at him and thinking he's pretty T^T Whaaaat he is, I can't help it

And on another note, I love all of these new characters they've introduced Especially Carly and Crow. Carly is just simply epic (it's nice to know she actually HAS an apartment too, 'cause they made it look like she lived out of her car a couple episodes ago XD;; ), and Crow is pretty much a happier version of Yusei, lol.


On a final note, I love all this adult philosophy being passed down from people like Yusei and Crow to the younger generations :

I started collecting the cards from YGO:5Ds a short while ago (I haven't bought any recently because I've been too busy...and I don't have the money ; ), but the goal I had in mind was to obtain as many of Yusei's cards as I could. I didn't get anything in my first pack, but in my second I got QuillBolt Hedgehog and I was so giddy because of it I bought several more. now I have:

Of course these are just the ones I recognized as Yusei's cards. I'm sure I have more, and I just haven't realized yet (I need to go back and rewatch all the episodes again when I have time ). I also have quite a few of the other character's cards. Although, none of any of the characters I like (Mostly, Yusei's opponents' cards). I really want to get some of Rua. Ruka, Aki, and Carly's cards (OMIGEE CARLY!!! I luv her, she's epic!! She lives in her car and tells her fortune with her cards lol~!). However for the next while I won't be buying anymore packs since I have no proper source of income. Maybe I'll buy another pack around my birthday as a treat?


*stares at stack* I have enough cards to start building a deck....And I kinda want to But, eh, it wouldn't matter because I don't know anyone who plays besides me . And I wouldn't be using any of Yusei's cards if i made a deck either. Most of the cards I've gotten are Psychic-types and my favorite one so far is "Magical Android" (It looks soooo cool and it was my first white card ). So my deck would be a psychic/something else deck But again i say it doesn't really matter, because NOBODY WILL PLAY WITH ME!!!!
