What? What's this? An update? After about ten years?!

No, sorry.

I have a question for all my darling brainiac friends..

I bought these two huge bookcases at a flea market yesterday, and they are *beautiful*. I loved them right away. I paid two hundred dollars for both of them. They're each seven feet tall, and about 3-4 feet wide.

I got them all the way home and was about to unload them when I noticed a piece the wood on the bottom of one was swollen, like it had sat in a liquid for a long time and was set into the wood, and part of the bottom was starting to split/crack.

I'm worried the wood is already ruined, but I don't want it to get worse. Is there like a finish I can buy to stop the decaying, or slow it down?

It's either plywood or pine... because the pieces weren't that heavy, and oak wouldn't soak like that...

I love these bookcases, and I want them to last. ._. Anyone have any idears? Thanks!

I'm settled in this place, but the wireless here refuses to work... consistantly... as I've learned. So I have the computer plugged into the modem, which is in a quiet, boring room about 15 degrees colder than the rest of the damn house. No TV, and no music, because mom's head is like. Right next to the computer on the other side of the wall. Therefore..

I will be on a *lot* less.

And when I am on.. more than half the time, I won't be paying attention. Most of you aren't unfamiliar with my inability to sit still for any period of time. I haven't sat down in the same place for five minutes since I arrived, and had it not involve sleeping or eating.

This house is beautiful, and the snow was light and fluffy. Not like any snow I had ever seen, but actually... pretty. You can handle the snow, and it just seems to stay fluffy, no matter what. It falls apart in your hands, and you can see each individual little snowflake, and they shimmer in the sun. It's amazing. I'll have to take pictures, since I've finally gotten the camera to work (thanks Nick).

In other news, Anka doesn't like to wear pants...

I sold the Celica. 500 dollars, on the spot. I wasn't supposed to take less than 750, but when five Benjamins are looking at you and looking mighty fine, it's a hard offer to pass down, and to sweeten the deal, I never have to see the damn thing ever, ever again.

The guy was real nice, and he seemed excited about his new car. I left none of the problems out, and also told him that any shop he'd go to would charge more than the car is worth for it to be fixed. I must be such an awesome sales person, because he bought it anyway. He had it towed off our lot, and taken to Grandview. He either knows a real nice shop that will fix it for cheap, or he has an overpowering deathwish. Either way, I'm glad the car either gets a loving home, or put out of it's misery.

I've already decided I wasn't going to spend the money on anything important. I'm going to buy myself a nice haircut, and maybe even get my nails done. Then, I'll go to the mall. Oh yes, I said it. The MALL. And buy some of that really nice, expensive makeup... It'll be nice to be pretty.

I'll also buy a new phone cover, since I've chewed right through the leather on the last one... and people keep trying to slip it off.

Job hunting! I’ve been up everyone’s asses. One of these days, they’ll give in… Or I’ll create my own little revolution and ducktape myself to windows and scare potential customers off. RAAAAGRRAH!!

Avenue Q is coming in April, and I couldn’t be more excited. If you want to go, lemme know. I’m trying to get as many people as I can to come with me. Neenah ’s going with me, and her sister, too…I keep meaning to ask certain people, but I can never remember. I definitely want to try to get Jackie to go! Anyone else? Lemme know. It’s a cute performance, it really is.

I miss Sammy sometimes. I have no one to go flea market shopping with me anymore.

. I’m going out tomorrow, and I’m not coming back without a fuckin’ job. SOMEONE will hire my ass. I’m going tonight to look some more. I have plans, damnit. Plans never work without cash, and that clock is ticking. I’d like to have my own place by the end of spring, so I can prepare for my (hopefully) new roommates. And my car, that I’m still not legally allowed to drive yet, running well and fully insured. I hate that piece of shit, and I do believe it hates me right back. Next month, it’ll probably end up sold for a lot less than what was paid for it. I wouldn’t be such a bitch, but the car was bought to make me come back to Ohio , and make me stay. Since I can already plan on staying, I won’t need it anymore.

My mother’s happy. She’s even going to help me a bit. She wants me to stay more than anything. No. I think she just doesn’t want me to be near –him-. She’s been a lot nicer to me since hearing my change of heart.
