It´s been a great holiday, with so much beautiful landscape and scenery to remember.
So please everyone, dont go to Mallorca to drink and party all the time. You will miss a beautiful inland!!

The village we´ve been is called Cala Ratjada. It´s a village in the North-Ost of the Island. Luckily i´ve been there in April and not in Juli.. then it would be to touristy and crowded there (my opinion).

Trips:
.Cala Mesquida, with a little detour to Torre Son Jaumel.
(about 10km, 3 - 4 hours)
.Arta
(a nice old little city with a beautiful townhall/townhouse/library,a regional Museum (Museu Regional d’Artà;), the pilgrimage church "Sant Salvador" on the hill and the gothic church "Transfiguratio del Senyor" on the foot of the hill, "Talayot de Ses Paisses" a prehistorical area, build in the Talaiot - Era. (If you are not interestet in prehistoric archaeology, take a break and drink some coffee while others go. There isn´t that much to see.)
.(somewhere behind..)Font de Sa Cala (sadly we did not get to Coves de Arta because the weather changed into rain, wind and windchill factor 1°C...).

Conclusion: I would go to Mallorca again.. I suppose more into the North - West because i´ve heard there are better hiking trails.

I wonder if I ever will be happy with it again after taking pictures with such a good Camera.

We walked the way up Festung Marienberg, a wonderfull old fortress in Lower Franconia. The way is lined by big old Maple Trees, and the grassfields were red and yellow from the fallen leaves. Sometimes the sun came through the clouds above, but even with the cloudy sky its been a great autumnal location.

A nice Autumn/Winter time to everyone! Enjoy the wonderful coloured world at the moment :)

This next 6 weeks are going to be very hard I think, and so i won´t be here and update or load anything, till i´m finished.
By now i´m looking forward to go out and take pictures of the starting summer! :)

So I thought, I will collect some facts about the Island.

Lanzarote

  1. Geographie
    Lanzarote is the easternmost of the Canary Islands, and belongs to the spanish province Las Palmas.
    Covering about 845 km² its the fourst largest of the Islands. 11 km south-east you can find Fuerteventura. In the north, just about 1km away, are the little Islands La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Alegranza, Roque del Oeste und Roque del Este.

    Mountains: You can find Mountain formations Famara (with the highest Mountain: Peñas del Chache, 671 m) in the north and Ajaches (608 m) in the south. South of the Famara massif is the El Jable desert. This desert separates Famara and Montañas del Fuego. This Mountainious area is called Timafaya National Park.
    Since 1993 is the whole Island a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve protected site

    The last volcanic eruption, the island has been hitted by, has been in 1824.


  2. Geologie
    Lanzarote is of volcanic origin, createt about 35mio years ago in the Canary Hotspot.


  3. Flora and Fauna
    Despite the low rainfall, and the north atlantic trade winds you can find about 570 species of plants, among 13 - 17 island endemic species.
        about 180 different lichen

        Euphorbien called: tabaiba

        Canary Island Date Palm, which is under nature conservation on Lanzarote

        Hibiscus

        Aloe Vera

        Agave

        wine

        cactus, wild olive trees...

    an many more!
    Lanzarote has thirty-five types of animal life, including birds, falcons, reptiles and dromedary (which where brought to the island through human)


  4. Cesar Manrique
    If you hear of Lanzarote, you have to know about Cesar Manrique who was an Artist and Sculptor and had major influance on the method of construction of hotels and bungalows when the tourists coverd the Island (for example: the use of traditional colours in exterior and no building higher than 2 storeys.(meantime they sadly build till 4 storeys.)
    Some impressive Constructions of him you can visit are f.e.:
        Fundacion Cesar Manrique: First Cesar Manriques privat Home its now an art-gallery featuring art created by Manrique himself, as well as art Manrique acquired over his life. The gallery includes original sketches by Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró.

        Mirador del Rio: A viewpoint in the north, integratet into the Lava-rock. You can overview from here La Graciosa an a part of the north-west of Lanzarote.

        Jameos del Agua is a grotto, which is part of the connectet - Caves of an Lava-field, which leads from the Volcan de la Corona via the Cueve de los Verdes to the coast.
        Cesar Manrique had build inthere a restaurant, patio, bar, swimming-pool and a Concert - Hall.
        Also you can see there the the blind deep-water Remipedia crabs, who actually only live in the deep-sea.

        Jardin de Cactus , a Bontanic Garden, whith about 1400 types of Cactus


  5. Other
        Timafaya National Park: Volcanic nature reserve

        El Golfo: a caldera with the green Lagune Charco de los Clicos

        La Geria: the biggest wine-growing-district of the Canary Islands. How they do it is amacing. Around every plant are funnel-formed slots digged in the lapilli - bed so that the water of the morning dew and the spare rain can be absorbed optimal an semi-circular little walls to shield from the wind.

But doesnt matter.

Our journey startet in Hamburg. Till now i have only one foto from there, maybe there will follow some.
Then we went to Travemünde. We got there and it stopped raining for a while and we could see a beautiful sunset. :)
Next Station: Bodensee. We stood there some days. Until now no fotos, but will follow.
Then one day in Freiburg, one in Straßbourg and BadenBaden.
The last day we visited Heidelberg (fotos will follow) and Darmstadt.

I had some old fotos from vacation in the Netherlands an France but till now not the time to upload them to DA.

Looking out of the window in this moment makes me think again, what i´m thinking about so often lately.
Please, make that someone will do me a pleasure and i wake up tomorrow with a useful new camera!!!

I see a blue sky, shining sun and a beautiful green cherrytree with lots of sparkling raindrops on it.. Oh I love to take a camera and take a foto.. but..
Same thing every morning on my way to school.. Passing a stony acclivity full of vineyards and the little wine dresser cottages, in front of a compact wood, wrapped in fog.. sometimes it reminds me of fotos from african coffee plantations, surroundet with primeeval forrest.

So i will dream on about countrys far away and wish everyone who´s maybe reading this a great time!
