In my dream I am walking out of my house on the little dirt path to a horse driven carriage. I sit down as the horse begins walking. The sky turns dark, it begins raining, and the wind gets quite hard. The horse begins speeding up quite quickly, so I reach out to ask the driver to slow down a little. I say to him:
"I think the horse if frightened, can you please make her go slightly slower?" he does not answer. He just sits there in his large black and ripped robes. He does not turn around but just sits there. He holds whips, yet he does not touch the horse with them at all. The horse continues running. A large bolt of lightning hits a nearby tree, and a branch falls near the horse, making it run faster and faster still. Soon we go deep into the forest, the rain pouring extremely hard, cold wind gusting from all directions. The dead winter trees above cover up much of the light. Then all of the sudden the man on the horse screams something to the horse. It was more of a noise he made, it sounded like when air gets sucked in very quickly.
The horse stands still, and the man slowly turns around to reveal his face. It was the same creature I had seen before. It was the creature who had a galaxy as a face. Stars as eyes. I jumped away from my seat, and began to run through the dark forest. The creature followed. The rain made it easily through the tree tops, however no light came in at all. Wind came rushing right towards me. I continue running and running for hours it seemed.
I soon heard the creature make the strange noise again that he made to stop the horse. I presumed he was screaming 'Stop!' to me. I looked behind me and he made the noise again. I ran and then felt something odd. I was falling. I looked down and realised I had ran right off a cliff. I looked up as I was falling and saw the creature reaching it's slightly transparent black hand down to catch me. As I was falling a realised that the creature wanted to save me. He was screaming at me to stop because of the cliff. But why was he chasing me? Did I have something of his? I then remembered the papers from so long ago. I kept falling, and then fell straight into my bed, and awoke.
Later:
I had gone to the lake in the evening, I had seen the creature, I had approached it with caution, and I had left the papers by it's side. It however did not seem to notice I was there.
I have returned home early, and had fallen asleep on the sofa. I had the dream again. The same dream. I think the only way to end this dream is to really find out as much of this creature as I can. I am to go to the library and find what I can about this creature.
23 Dec: today I have gone to the library to discover more of this whole thing. I have found my dream means a new beginning... I do not understand what is to begin...?
I found nothing on the creature, but I had discovered some information on a creature that is called the Midnight Shadow.
The Midnight Shadow is apparently a lost shadow that left it's owner. It now steals dreams and caused nightmares. It's description is like I have described it. I hope that now that I know this much about it, my nightmares will end.
Later: I had the dream again. I do not know how to stop it. I must go to the Midnight Shadow tonight and discover more.
I shall update soon.

The large black creature came, fed the ducks, and sat for hours. I decided not to interfere, and just watch from a distance. I felt no anxiety and fear this time however. As soon as the moon had set, the creature walked away, and went deep into the forest. I decided I would follow him out of curiosity.
It was quite dark here, although the bright pink sunrise made enough light to easily see things, through the trees almost no light came in. The large creature was becoming more visible as the sun light appeared though. I could only see his back; he, or she, or it, was wearing what appeared to be many, many ripped black rags upon itself, but the one thing I noticed odd (other than it's enormous size of course,) was that when it moved, it made no noise at all. I looked down at it's feet, and then realised, it had none. It was somehow floating above the earth slightly, possibly hovering a little. At seeing this I became slightly frightened, and wondered if I should still follow it into the forest. I stopped for a while and though. My curiosity level was very high, so I decided to continue. I followed the large creature for about three hours judging by the sun light.
As I followed him, I stepped on a large dead branch, and broke it in two. The sound echoed through the forest, and one could hear the sound of birds flying out from the trees.
The large creature stopped. He did not turn around, but merely stood there with his back facing me. I heard him breathing loudly, as though angry. I dared not move, I just stood there, my legs were like thin sticks, shaking and trembling.
The creature began to gradually turn around. It was so slow that it seemed a good ten minutes before it was facing me.
I saw the sun shining straight into it's face. Looking at such a thing would cause many sleepless nights for anyone. It's face was like a portal leading to the universe. When I looked inside I saw space. It's eyes were two stars, it's nose was a nebula, and it did not have a mouth, however I still heard it breath. It looked at me for quite some time. All together we were standing here not moving for almost an hour or so. At last I could not take the strain of not moving anymore, and so slowly tried to back away. At the first movement I made, he jumped towards me. I began to run as fast as I could out of the forest, the creature was hovering towards me the whole time. I ran out of the forest, back near the lake, and fell down, smashing my chin on the wet grass. I tried to get up, but my knees had locked, I looked behind me, but nothing was there. The creature was gone.
I went back home, and did nothing for the next few days. Today however I am re-writing all the events in my journal, and I hope to-morrow to discover what the creature was doing, or guarding in the forest.

As I sat here however, I began to get very sleepy... I remember dosing off, and soon I had fallen asleep.
I awoke later by the sound of footsteps. I looked and saw a large black figure walking towards the lake. I watched from afar, for although I was excepting this, I was quite frightened. The figure sat down near the water, and although he was sitting, he was taller than me if I stood. He looked into the lake, and a small deer came to him. The deer bowed it's head down into the water to take a drink. As it did the black figure started to stroke the animal. It however continued drinking.
I slowly approached the large black figure, understanding now that he (or she) was a gentle thing. I was walking towards it, when it turned around. It's face was in shadows so I could not see it at all. It stood up, and as it did accidentally knocked the deer down. It then ran away into the forest. Apparently it had feared me. Apparently I had disturbed whatever it was.
At the sight of this, I became very frightened, and fainted.
I soon awoke, and thought this was all a dream, however if it was a dream, I must have been sleep walking, for now I was closer to the lake than when I had fallen asleep.
I decided to go home, and forget about the whole thing. Right now I am sitting at my typewriter thinking about all this. I shall probable leave the papers the 'thing' lost near the lake. After a night like this I shall probable not sleep well.
December 13th:
I had awoken early this morning and decided on one thing;
I must discover who this thing is. I shall again venture to the lake tonight. I shall report more tomorrow.

Thus told me that if I ever wanted to find out who it was I had crashed into the other day, I should go to the morgue... during the day of course...
Later:
I found myself standing at the building... I slowly crept inside...
It was extremely dark in here, and smelled like a burnt-out candle. I took my lighter out from my pocket so as to see better.
The door behind me had slowly closed with a quite noise. I saw around me was three coffins, five candles, and one chair. Upon the chair sat no one. I looked around but saw nothing. I reached for my pocket to read the poem.
"During the day I go back to hide,
Everyone is awake."
And when the evening comes again,
My life is by the lake."
I stood in the morgue for a few minutes more thinking of this. I wondered if possible that this person was hidden in one of the coffins. I wondered if this was a vampire, but then remembered the other part of the poem:
"I however am not mean!"
I did not dare open the coffins, for I had just had breakfast.
I exited the morgue, and continued down the path into the forest. Here I saw the only lake in the city. Far from any buildings other than the morgue. Not far however I heard church bells. I did not know a church was nearby. It was 10:00AM when I was here, and the sun was high in the sky. I decided to sit here a few minutes, and think.
I came up with the idea that I would come here again in the evening to find whomever it was I was looking for. As I thought of this idea, I stared down at the poem and read out loud:
"And when the evening comes again,
My life is by the lake."
I got up, listening to the peaceful sound of the birds, the wind though the trees, the crickets, the water of the lake, and the little fishes that swam in it. I noticed the sound of ducks, of crows, of frogs. And before I left I saw a small deer come and drink some water from the lake. I watched it all from near a large oak, and then left.
Later:
I am now home, doing absolutely nothing. I shall update what happens at the lake to-night, to-morrow.

It read:
"Inside a secret building,
Hidden away from the world."

Dark and so cold."
Every evening,
I escape."
"Never to be seen.
Slithering and stalking through the streets"
I however am not mean!.
During the day I go back to hide,
Everyone is awake."
And when the evening comes again,
My life is by the lake."
Other nights I stay inside,
Really I merely hide!"
Getting out of this place is,
Unlucky at one phase."


And then the poem just ends. I have no clue as to what it means. But for anyone who actually reads this journal, please send me anything you have discovered, or understood in this code, that I have not.
UPDATE: I have decoded yet another clue.
"Everybody reads from the right."

I ran down the path which I saw him follow, but by now the rain was pouring, and the sun had set. I decided to head home, and possibly look for the man to-morrow.
That night I looked over his papers due to my curiosity. These papers were very odd. Most was written in some code, some in a foreign language, one of which I had never seen, and some in English. the parts in English were even odder. I shall copy them into my journal soon.
