About a week or two ago, I installed Kubuntu a distro. of Linux similar to Ubuntu both made by makers of Debian. and I have dual boot which means I can boot up my computer to Linux OR Microsuck Windows. That's nice if you are willing to shut down your computer to switch between OS. I am currently installing windows XP into VMWare's virtual machine. This means I can actually run Windows XP inside Linux in a window. This is great because now I have multiple options on running xp while I still have Linux as my main OS.

some people may have thought it would be better to install Windows and run Linux under windows but I believe windows is so unreliable it's better to have the very reliable Linux as base OS and so if xp ever craps out, you don't have to lose your files to replace the OS.

I updated firmware on my pda phone which has made the internet connection sharing alot better.

I am right now writing my journal while connected to internet through my PDA phone (HTC 8525). I have a USB cable connected from my phone to my laptop and I am using firefox to browse DA and post my journal. How is the speed? I am getting DSL speed because my phone has 3G feature.

Screw Helio, they are just trying to catch up to what PDA phones can do.

It's bad enough that chemicals might have been intentionally put into pet food mix to make it seem more protein rich. You would think after the chemicals were found they would properly dispose of those pet foods so it will not harm anyone. We thought wrong. I just read on msn that salvaged (possibly meaning they tried to clean out the chemicals but obviously this didn't work) was sent to farms and fed to hogs. Now this is quite wrong and down right evil on the part of pet food companies. What's worse is WE eat pigs and if somehow those dying hogs with rat poison gets into markets and on our dining tables as final destination we are just one swallow away from death.

Think about this, first off you are NOT supposed to feed hogs and cows and those other farm animals other animals as food. It just isn't natural. That's how we got mad cow disease. Then we eat those sick animals. And companies are killing us by feeding us the diseased or poisoned animals for profit while trying to make the most bucks and hide the truth about where those ingridients came from.

I don't know about you but there needs to be more responsibility and steps to prevent events like this by pet food companies and companies that provide food for us humans. And government should govern. They love to govern where they aren't welcome but where are they when we need them?

I spent a bit of time just now reading up on Mad Cow Disease and it seems that not every doctor seems to agree on the cause and effect of the disease. One says Prion is cause, while another says it is the symptom. One says Humans cannot get mad cow disease and that humans have a different type of disease that's similar and another says humans can get the same disease from eating meat from cow that had mad cow disease.

One thing most of them seem to agree on is that factory farming and usage of growth hormones and other unnatural method of growing animals for consumption is causing diseases that are killing us. Some even agree that government is covering up the truth behind the disease because so many are getting paid to keep people from expressing the truth because the politicians are getting paid from the growers.

What's sad is it is true that government that was built to govern and to help the people which it governs is doing everything but what they were created to do. Here are some links. Notice the some differences as well as the agreements.

Fact I agree with is they need to stop factory farming which is causing diseased meats and killing us.

You all noticed I haven't posted anything new for quite a while. I been meaning to but in the last few weeks again I was just drawn to other things. I have been working on a task that has been quite a brain teaser. It's all technical mumble to some of you.

I am trying to create a multiboot usb flash drive which will have a type of WinPE (small version of windows that has very basic set of functionality to allow small file size mainly used for troubleshooting computers that are not booting) I have used so many programs and so many tests and failures.

Some of you may have bootable CDs that have multiboot, I am trying to make it into USB because if you have WinPE on usb, you can make changes. You can't change items on CD and can't update.

I have successfully installed BartPE a type of WinPE but I still am having major prob trying to get it to be dual boot or multi boot

I know I gotta start posting stuff here again. I should start writing again.

Some of you who have searched for software to backup your files may have come across handybackup.com or handybackup.net. I knew about these two sites for a while but haven't made purchase until recently. And I ended up doing some research on these two.

If you look at these two sites, you will notice they look similar and sell the same product. At first you will think they are one company with 2 websites. This is not the case. One is a fake and illegal operation. You will notice they both post same images and award logos. They both have same name, same product thumbnail, and same features and same message in all their pages.

So how do we find out who is legitimate and who isn't? You will notice handybackup.com lists itself as Novosoft Inc. and handybackup.net lists itself as Novosoft LLC. So far everything looks so much similar. There MUST be a way to find out if a website is fake in cases like this. I first ran google search and found a blog that didn't really help. It simply displayed email responce from one of the two sites. When you email a website whether it be fake or legitimate they will always claim the legitimacy. This is why you have to do the research yourself and dig deep.

I knew common sense says whoever came first is legitimate and who came second is copy. So I ran whois (this is to display website info and owner and contact data) on namesecure.com. I found that handybackup.com is registered by a guy in TX, USA. while handybackup.net was registered by someone in Russia (typically this is the first hint, but not a guarantee) But the proof was in the date. I looked at the creation date (Date of which the websites were purchased and created). handybackup.com was created in 2001 prior to handybackup.net that's in Russia. This was the proof I needed.

People are still buying software from both sites even though handybackup.net is fake AND more expensive. Why? because people do strange things. Next time you purchase software from websites, compare not only the quality and pricing and customer reviews and ratings but, also check to make sure they are not pirated software vendors.

I recently bought a $500 PDA phone and first one I got had problem with keyboard so I called customer service and got a replacement. Then with the replacement I tried overclocking software on it and that software screwed up the phone and it wouldn't even boot.

I knew if I could try to update the firmware even back to original factory installed version I might be able to get it back up. Problem was because this phone is so new (only been out for 2 weeks) there was no support info on how to get it to load to firmware update mode (some call it boot-strapping).
I played with the buttons because I knew it had to be 2 button combination just like when you hardboot to factory state.
Hard booting didn't work for some odd reason so I knew firmware update was the only way to go IF it works.

Turns out on Cingular 8525 (Cingular = Vendor, HTC = manufacturer) the 2 button combination for firmware update mode is Power + OK (on the side) held while reset button was pressed.

Things about eating hot(spicy) foods.

1. It hurts going in.
2. It hurts going out.

Yep, I am still workingo n the css for my journal. it already looks pretty good with many things changed. why keep going? well what I been wanting to do is create a menu inside my journal. my own little list of links in the menu and things. but creating css menu is tougher than you think. it's tougher than just changing background and etc. I been running into prob with align and float and pixel related issues. changing colors and images is the easy part. so you will be noticing my journal changing quite frequently today possibly.

Yes, not always, and yes.

In my experience as IT I have used many browsers. I have used IE, IE Shells, Firefox, Opera, Netscape. (the worst is shells)

2 years ago I was using Opera. I loved it for it's reliability, security, and tab browsing. But after that I have been using Firefox. Let me tell you people. Firefox is the most secure browser and the most well designed.

It has robust features with many extensions you can install. It isn't going to stop your computer from being infected with viruses or spywares since it's only smart as the idiot using it. but it will help prevent alot of problems and alot of infections.

So is it safe? yes. Ie automatically downloads and installs components and it's practically welcoming in spywares and viruses. I am trying out the new IE 7 and it has some great features that will help make it more secure but it isn't feature rich enough and still not quite safe enough for people to switch back to IE. After all, wether it is 6 or 7 or ver 8000, it IS still made by Microsuck.

I found netscape to lack features and reliability so I never stayed with it long.

Opera was great almost excellent but was no where near as realiable as firefox and not as compatible with various websites.

Firefox is definitely #1 and I hope everybody switches to it. About 70%+ are already using firefox. There is a reason.

Hi. I like the writing effect and the colors. Her skin color seems a little odd and greenish as compared to the picture. Her drop shadow on the ground doesn't mach the direction of the sun (look at the desk behind her). The shadow of her skirt on her leg is too harsh as compared to the other shadows, giving the impression that she has been shot in the studio with a flash. Her right arm is too sharp as compared to the background (just soften the transition)...

the service that provides people to fight back against spammers has lost its battle and rather I should say the whole freakin war.
They decided to give up after the 2nd attack since the spammers were able to use botnetwork and hack UltraDNS and which made it unimportant that bluesecurity was working with Prolexic.
First attack came but bluesecurity was able to get back online and we all thought they had won, but spammers attacked again with different method.
and this was it. Blue Security had to put up white flags.

I am crying inside big time. If you wanna see a man cry, just insert tear here. This not only upsets me as a member who wanted to fight spam, but makes me sad and depressed because this means we really are hopeless against spam. If you are member of spamcop or such similar places, you may think you are fighting spam, but all you are doing is reporting the spam. What does that do? It only makes a list of spammers.
Blue Security was the only one who was helping us actually fight back.

Damn damn damn the Radio Shack.

Don't you hate going to a store and expecing to get answers from people and they are dumber than the shit they crawled out of?

I think when companies advertise their friendly service and their intelligent answers it should be true and they should be liable for false, just like when they advertise a product and if it doesn't meet what they claim it is considered "False advertisement"

Radio Shack is absolutely THE WORST place to go if you want someone to have any sort of answer for you.

Today I called them up and asked about a price on an item

this is how the conversation went.

Me "Hello, I would like to know how much an ethernet card for desktop compupter would cost"

Radioshack "What kind are you looking for?"

Me "linksys"

Radioshack "How long do you want it?"

Me "what do you mean? I don't wanna rent it, I want to buy it"

Radioshack "how long do you want the cable?"

Me "no, I don't want the cable, I want the ethernet CARD"

Radioshack "Is it for notebook computer?"

Me "NOOO, it's for DESKTOP"

Radioshack "You want card reader?"

Me "NOOOO, I SAID I WANT ETHERNET CARD"

Me "Never mind".. click*

Radioshack's motto used to be and may still be "You got questions, we got answers"

I can guarantee that in reality, if you got questions they are worse off than you.

Trivia time folks. This is my first trivia question on DA.
now my question comes with a prize to the one who answers correctly.
Many of us are artists yes we are, wether it be our profession or just
hobby. But for some of us who do this purely for hobby,
what IS our day time profession?

Well if you guess what my profession is exactedly and
tell me the correct name of my position then you will win a prize.
I haven't decided what yet. I am not going to just give it to first
one who answers it. I am going to randomly pick one out of all
