Just starting a run of shoots, one down, have one today, a run of security shifts (just inhouse security duties, no backstage stuff for while yet), then one on the 30th - the morning after a nightshift. . .

First one went great, just in midst of going through the RAW files. Sometimes long for the smell of the darkroom, think I'll dust off the film scanner and dev tanks and do some film shots - just to bait a 'hotographer' on another site who seems to dismiss anyone who isn't shooting on a £3K+ camera. Hmm a couple of 5x4 shots on a Speed Graphic that set me back about £80 ought to do it

Just in midst of setting up for the second now, oh for a 24hr B&Q or other DIY place need some 90 degree steel brackets. . .

To hell with the bank balance I decided last month and decided to treat myself to a new camera - as used with my recient shoot with Mary Louise - [link] - a fantastic model to work with, and would heartily recomend booking a shoot with her.

To top the new camera, those nice folkes at Olympus Europe sent me a nice present for buying the E3 - a snazzy ringflash, not sure how much I'll use it but tis a new shiny piece of kit

Due to the competance or lack their of I will be offline for a while - Cutting the line and terminating my broadband with Virgin tomorrow.
THEN reconnecting line some point on the 10th within or about 48hrs after 7.30pm!! Then Going to have to get Virgin to reconnect my account which could take 7days!!!

Typically this will probably taken up mostly by all those mundane tasks that you never seem to have time for - Finishing painting the walls, clearing that cupboard out etc. . .

With a bit of luck, and if I can borrow my drill back off my Dad I can fit a decent lock or latch to the cupboard so I can actually close the door properly and use it as a darkroom (well somewhere light tight to load film onto developing reels just now...)

With any luck I'll hopefully have one shoot this week - working ideas out for a new series, hopefully it will work out well.

And its back to boring work tomorrow. . . 16hrs of getting paid to sketch out ideas for next shoot/ongoing ideas yet to be fulfilled. Err I mean 16hrs of providing a visible security presence and ensuring the safe ingress and egress of staff and patrons...

Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll be doing a posing at the window series on 5x4 - A wee trip to street level and mebbe try some alternative printing processes.
So any recomendations for Printing-Out paper?

Also decided to purchase a new digi camera Olympus E-510, first impressions not too bad, though I HATE LIVE PREVIEW a complete and utter waste of battery power. Still the image stabilisation should mean I don't need as high an ISO for some shots that I do (a real boon when you rely on rather poor daylight at times). Only one problem - no X-sync socket (Dropped the ball there Olympus. BAD Olympus! ) so I'll need to get one of the adaptors that fit on the hotshoe.

Roll on 20th-23rd - begin SIA training, pass that then in November I get a half decent raise at work.

So, after only three weeks wait I finally have a landline. . . However the number those numpties gave me. . . became my neighbours!! I now have a bill of a hundred quid! All on calls that I NEVER MADE!!

To top that I was assured that it would be working within 24hrs, so I arranged to get internet on that line. So I have been paying for internet 'access' for almost a month without any actual access!
