WTC at sunset by ~cyberaddict

I was at home behind my PC when someone from work phoned me and told me to turn on my TV because America was under attack.
It took me a while before I understood it wasn't a bad movie, but something that really happened. I watched in shock as the first tower collapsed, and then the next one. I watched the reports on the attack on the pentagon and the other plane that crashed.
And I wondered if WWIII had broken out, and who was next.
I was scared, confused, and angry. I still remember all that like it was yesterday.

Last year on 9-11, someone in my MySpace friendslist (a pretty populair singer named Chantelle Paige) posted a memorial video to remember the victims of 9-11. I had seen all of the footage before, but the SONG really impressed, or even touched me.
Now I am not into countrymusic like at all, but I listened to the lyrics, and for the first time, some six years later, I got a glimpse of what it must have been like for *them*, the people out there in NYC. Watching these horrible events unfold in their own city, all these questions and thoughts in their minds. Their pain. Their desperation. Their unity.
So today, a totally random, almost sunny summerday here in Holland, I wanted to share that song with you.

So yeah I'm back from Amsterdam. I got there early yesterday afternoon, and went shopping (so I do have some new Hello Kitty stuff ^^ including a FORK haha), after that I went to the hotel and chilled a bit, took a shower, and then I went to see the Paramore show.

Wow! They rocked my socks again. It's amazing to hear how the band has grown musically in just one year. They opened with a longer, and darker version of Let The Flames Begin, and a couple of songs had extra bits in them. At one point she even sang a few lines of Flo Rida's Low LOL.
It was clear Hayley and the gang were having a good time too. Hayley talked a lot inbetween songs and she even opened a present a fan gave her on stage. And Zack got new drumsticks as a present too.

Even though there were a lot of new fans, the atmosphere was exactly the same as last year: everybody was singing and jumping and very loud ^^ One big party. It was awesome.

Of course my cam refused to focus properly because of the darkness and the movement, so all I have are screenhots from the videos I shot. It was difficult to get some good pics from the vids too, because uhm.. I was jumping up and down too much

The friend I was originally going with is still sick
and another one would rather stay home and watch the
European Championships soccergame
So I will have to go all by myself!

I booked a hotelroom in Amsterdam and I will go early in the
afternoon so I can do some serious shopping ( Amsterdam has the coolest shops in the country! ), watch the show, and go home the next day.
It'll be weird on my own, but it'll be cool too.
Can't wait!

Lol... I've been making all this beautiful Rifka 3D stuff and then I took 1 picture of my Hello Kitty eggs in the fridge and it becomes my most faved deviation within 24 hours
I get the message.. I will stop doing 3D and take more Hello Kitty pics hehehe.. nah just kidding.

Only 8 days to go till the Paramore show and I'm really excited. Well.. duh ^^
I heard the Dutch soccerteam will play a European Championship match at the very same moment so it'll be intersting to see how that'll work out.
For some reason soccer is really big over here ( don't ask me why - I'm not interested in seeing 22 sweaty men play with their balls hehe ) so every EK game the team plays turns into a nationwide party, so I'm wondering if the less fanatic Paramorefans ( of which there are quite a few since they became really popular) will skip the show because they want to see the game.

Ah.. well enough about Hayley and the gang, let's get on with the features.
All of these artists have been feautered here before, but they posted some amazing stuff again, so I'll have to bring these to your attention again.

I just found out Avril Lavigne is coming to Holland too.
She's doing a show only three days after the Paramore one.

I didn't like the last Avril album that much, but that doesn't take away the sheer brilliance of

I got 3 tickets for the Paramore show! Hopefully my friend who went with me last time will be out of hospital by then, but if they don't cancel, I'll definately be going to see Hayley again!

FACTS
1. My name (Yoshida) is japanese and it means "The Good One"
Dutch people often have problems saying, remembering, or writing my name. The most stupid mistake I came across was someone who wrote my name as "Joezita" Wtf?!

2. I think the worst part of me is that I think too much
I would be really happy if someone invented a switch that could turn my brain on and off sometimes.

3. The best part of me IMO is the fact that I live my life the way I want it, and I don't care if people like it or not.
And you know what? Even though I'm really different (I cute stuff, don't care about money and fame, spend more time with Rifka than human beings don't like soccer or cars - to name a couple of things), because I have this "That's who I am, like it or not"- attitude most people accept me for who I am

4. People who have been watching me before I cleaned up my gallery will probably know that, besides my Hello Kitty collection, I also have a couple of MyScene dolls. I was in a toystore one day and I saw one and I was like: "Hey... A barbie that looks like one of the Pussycat Dolls!" So I bought it and now I have 5! hahaha! I will stop buying them when I have 8, because they are on a shelf in my room, and that shelf will be full when I have 8 PussycatMyScene dolls. I really want a BJD too, but they're wayyyy too expensive

5. Everyone's playing Poker these days, but I can't.
They all play Texas Hold 'em style (with 2 cards) and I only play Poker as a part of Dead Or Alive Extreme Beachvolleyball 2. You can play Poker in the casino there, but it's 5 cards which is much easier for me. If you win, you get money to buy bikini's for Kasumi and Hitomi and the other girls. Whoohoo!!

6. I now have 4 different versions of Paramore's Riot album.
- the cd
- the special MVI edition cd
- the white vinyl lp
- the blue vinyl lp
Since I have two vinyl versions I decided to play one of them (I don't want to damage them so I avoided playing the white one), and to my surprise I found out that the vinyl version sounds much warmer and more dynamic than the cd version. So now I have to record those songs again for my mp3 player.

7. I never eat breakfast. I eat something around noon, then dinner, and at 10 pm I eat some more. See... I do eat three times a day. Hehehe.

8. Besides Dutch and English, I can read (but not really speak), German, a little bit of French, Swedish (it's not that difficult if you understand Dutch) and uhm.. about 10 Polish words ^_^

I've been using PaintShop Pro 7 for years now.
I've got Photoshop too, but I never use it.
The Photoshop logic and layout is so different from PaintShop's that I have to search for like five minutes or something for even the simplest of things I want to do.

I never really took the time to get to know Photoshop well enough to get around quicker, and stuck to using Paintshop Pro instead.
But I realise it's just plain lazyness on my part, so today I made a resolution: No more lazyness, I WILL learn how to use Photoshop properly

Paramore Trouble :S

~013926 was so lucky to have seen the Paramore show in Cologne! The rest of the European tour has been cancelled, there are no further shows untill the end of March.
This really really sucks for the fans in Hamburg, because it's the second cancelled show in a row.

Their MySpace had this message.
"Paramore have been forced to postpone the remaining dates of their current sold-out European tour for personal reasons which require their attention at home. The band regrets letting its fans down by not making it to the below six cities, and hope to come back soon."

According to their posts on LiveJournal and Paramore.net it doesn't mean they're breaking up, they are only taking some time off to get their heads clear and work on some internal issues.
I hope things will work out well :S
I'm just glad they take this time now, and work things out before it gets any worse.

It feels weird reading that news though. I mean, one of the things I adore about Paramore is their positivity and enthousiasm.
I just can't imagine Zack shouting at Jeremy and Josh leaving the room angry, slamming the door on his way out while Hayley <3 sits there, about to burst into tears
It's so not the Paramore I know. Weird.

There's also a rumour about Timbaland doing something with (a) Paramore (song?). What's up with that? I'm a Paramore fan, if I wanted to hear Timbaland's stuff I'd buy some Missy Elliot or something. Ah well... we'll see what he comes up with

I never understood the whole Fair Exposure debate.
I never use the front page. When I want to view deviations I simply click 'Browse' and get presented with a full page of the latest uploads.
From doodles to "MySpace"pictures to pleasant surpirises to stuff so stunning it makes me scream "OMG" at my monitor.
I get to see it all, and I discovered some great Deviants that way.
From the not yet there but talented and promising, to the ones who have more DD's than there are Paramore cd's in my collection ^^
So really, the easiest way we'll get Fair Exposure here is by deleting the front page.

As for the 'art'-part? Pshh.. be creative and make cool stuff. Art shouldn't be on the internet, it should be in musea and galleries.

Heheh... By now everybody that knows me knows I like
cute Hello Kitty stuff. But instead of thinking it's weird
because I'm a guy they think it's cool and sometimes bring
me a little Hello Kitty present they bought on vacation or
just because it wasn't too expensive and they know I'd like it.

The wallet you see in the picture is from Greece, the tiny AllStar
shoe from a shop in London, and that sitting pink Kitty on the right
came all the way from Canada. This is only half of my collection,
but I couldnÂ´t fit that much stuff in the photo.

I've ordered a limited edition white vinyl pressing of the Riot album, which will hopefully arrive in two weeks or so
It's my third copy of Riot haha. I also have the cd, and the special edition CD with extra live tracks and some other interactive stuff.

I'm off to the dentist on tuesday, which will suck bigtime, because if I'm luck, he'll *only* remove my wisdom tooth :s

1. My Hello Kitty collection has 14 items so far. I bought 3 of them myself, the rest were presents. It all started when my ex girlfriend
bought me a Hello Kitty thong after I told her I accidentally became a member of the I Hello Kitty club when I sent them a link to my drawing of Rifka wearing Hello Kitty panties Don't worry though, it's hanging on my wall in a big photoframe.

2. Even though I'm a guy (and not gay - no offense to homosexuals, I just thought I'd point that out), I don't like most "guy" things, but I do like quite a few "girly" things. Hello Kitty, My-Scene Dolls (and yes BJD too, but they're too expensive so I don't have one lol), I've seen every Hillary Duff and Lindsay Lohan movie and a lot of other chick flicks too. I like shiny stuff, and purple things and cute things make me go "Aww..."

3. The only sports I like to watch is Figureskating (Ladies program - of course) and Cheerleading.

4. Besides making cool and smexy pics of Rifka I used to write stories, do some webdesign, and I even make music sometimes.
I had a musicpage on MySpace for a while, but I got kicked off
because I posted self made remixes of Paramore, Flyleaf, and AlizÃ©e
which apperantly is a copyright violation
Maybe later this year I will set up a new page with my own music only, but don't hold your breath hehe.

5. I manage to bring smiles to a lot of faces with my stupid sense of
humor. That's really important to me, because those smiles make me smile in return.
Even though most people know me as a funny guy that's virtually always in a good mood, those who *really* know me know I can be really, really depressed as well.

6. I know a lot of random things, about a lot of different subjects.
That's because whenever I find something interesting, I search for more info on that subject. This often leads me on huge trips around the net, and the point where it ends most of the time has nothing to do with where it started, but I learned a lot of great and inspiring things along the way.
Why did I make the sixitesrecord cover with Rifka and the Sektorettes?
Because I found a picture of Joss Stone wearing a cute (and really short ^^) dress. I searched more pics, but found her doing a live version of Son Of A Preacherman, found the original by Dusty Springfield, which lead to a lot of sixties stuff I never heard of,

So... summer is finally over. I hope yours was a little more interesting than mine. The best day I had this summer was of course when I went to the Paramore show.

But now that the weather gets cold again, and I don't even want to go outside I got more time to be creative

After being really nervous the whole day because of the cancelled gig in Cologne, when we contacted the Melkweg for the 3rd time (around 15.30) they told us Paramore had indeed arrived and was on stage soundchecking.

The place was allready packed when we arrived because we had dinner -or in my case breakfast lol- first at an italian restaurant.
The support act was Lost Alone, they were pretty good, and we were lucky to see them aswell since one of the members was just out of hospital after a severe astma attack he had in Hamburg.
When they were done there was a short break, during which the roadies put Paramore's instruments on stage, and I used that time to look around and I saw at least 4 girls wearing Hello Kitty tops one of which was a black top with a silver/glitter HK on it. Supercool!

And then.... Hayley time!
Paramore came on stage and they were a-w-e-s-o-m-e! I don't know if all of you have seen the live vids from the Anaheim show [link] (click 'contents' to choose Paramore) but it was exactly like that. They're really good live, and when they're on stage you can tell they have fun playing and enjoy themselves as much as we do.
Hayley was of course adorable and she has an incredible voice.
They played all of my favorite songs (including Pressure, which was the encore) and it was definately my best night of this year so far.
I had a wonderful time and so did my friends, which is twice as cool, because they didn't know Paramore before, but they loved the show aswell. When I got home I was so tired I was fast asleep before 1:00 am (usually I don't go to bed till 2:30 )

As predicted the photos I took kinda suck, because my cam doesn't perform too well in dark situations. I shot some video footage aswell, but the sound's all distorted b...

I think we have an emergency. :(

15 Days to go before the Paramore show I've been in a good mood ever since I bought the tickets so I guess my summerdepression is fully cured now ^^
I tickets for Gwen Stefani too, but somehow I'm more excited about see Hayley perform.
Oh plus: I've got a new avatar that I'm pretty proud of hehe.
But I'm sure you noticed that allready.

which is a couple of streetartist who spread through street art!

16. OMG yess :) Yess! (Update)

Just three days ago I discovered the weirdest animation series I have ever seen: Salad Fingers. [link] or [link] (be warned: this stuff is pretty sick).

So I watched a whole bunch of these and noticed they were all done in Flash. I happened to have an old version of Flash installed so I started it up and started to mess around with it. As far as I can tell now, animation in Flash is pretty simple and straightforward so I'm all exited about that

So the next steps will be to think up some characters that are simple to draw, plus a little story and then see how far I can get with that ^^

In other news: PARAMORE IS COMING TO AMSTERDAM THIS MONTH!!!
OMG! O-M-F-G!!! I hope I can get one of my car-driving friends to come with me which might take some convincing 'cause none of them know Paramore. Yeah, I know ^^
Speaking of which I want to thank my personal groupie *bitchinvixen for making me a load of Hayley stuff like the animation and stamp in this journal.

To me the genius of this photo lies in the fact that she only used a simple lightsource and the right pose to get this photo to breathe the exact right atmosphere. Achieving so much with so little. I love stuff like that.

Same story with these two selfportraits by ~Nuclea : no expensive studiolighting. Just sunlight shining through her window.

And an extra feature for ~xxchange, not only because her gallery is cool, but she left me a comment last week that was so sweet I actually blushed. It really made my day (well.. it was night but you know what I mean ) so thanks

Last night at 5 o'clock I got woken up by a loud rushing sound.
I got over to the window and it turn out to be the rain.
It was raining really hard, and there was no wind at all.
All this water pouring down in a straight line, kind of flooding the parking lot.
I stood there and watched the rain fall for like 15 minutes before I went back to bed.
Somehow it was beautiful.

15. Depression Day

Sooo... I't been some time since I did a journal so here we go with a quick update.

I finally bought a Wacom tablet yesterday [link]
It was the cheapest model I could find, but I have no need for a super expensive A3 format pen tablet with built in toaster, wifi mp3 player coffee machine yet.
Once I get the hang of using it, you can expect some different style drawings from me. Yay! I trying out new stuff.

So far summer sucks over here. The weather is really strange. I wake up and it's raining and euhm thunderstorming, and by the time I decide the weather is too bad to go anywhere today, the sun comes out and there is not enough time to go anywhere further than the local mall.

It starts to happen pretty often these days: People ing my stuff and adding me to their list *without leaving a single comment*! I even had one adding 18 of my pics and then adding me to his watchlist without even 1 comment. WTF.
I am not a commentwhore or here to get 30Kpageviews or tons of watchers, but you'll have to remember that DA is a *community*.
A community is about interaction. If you think a piece (not just mine, this goes for everything on DA) is worth putting in your favs, there must be *something* you can say about it.
And just like I show my appreciation for people who do it right , I show my dissaproval for those who don't by removing myself from their watchlist! Ha!

Because I still have a bit of a summerdepression (though it's getting better lately ) I hereby declare today: Depression Day! Hehe.

Whoa! I don't know what happened the past few days but... 4 works with an actual concept?! ^^
That won't happen again! No concepts for the next two uploads, I promise

I will go see the Transformers movie next week. I allready saw bits of it (It's my job, remember ) and I noticed Megan Fox is looking pretty good. But she doesn't stand a chance against the one and only, the *holy*, Sophia Bush
It's gonna be a cool movie thuogh, so maybe I'll make something nice with Rifka and a huge robot or something next week

So now that I got my supercool MP3-player AND this even cooler Hello Kitty cover to put it in, you probably want to know what kind of music I put on it too ^^

7 Totally Random Day

So yeah.. I did go to see The Hitcher for the third time last week
It was the last day it played at our cinema and I was the only one there! Needless to say I still enjoyed every minute of it ( well... the minutes with Sophia Bush in it anyway ).
When the dvd comes out I'm going to watch the whole movie again... in slow motion lol!

This macrophotographything has got me doing crazy stuff lately. Like putting hairgel on a glass plate and mixing it with blue ink or going down to the toystore and buy 10 euros worth of marbles hehe. You should have seen the look on the face of the girl behind the counter

6 International Ballerina Day

I had a lovely week this week:
- I had these random attacks of kindness so I did 3 good deeds this week. Well, 4 if you count picking up stuff some lady in a wheelchair dropped on the floor.
- We had 3 sunny days which made me feel like spring allready started. Plus I got to wear my überkewl jacket and camo shirt so I looked hotter than a Pussycat Doll in a microwave oven (or at least I'd like to think I did lol)
- I discovered the happiest, most upbeat song ever (not suitable for Tiësto fans I'm afraid - there's a guitar in it sorry ) called "Beating Heart Baby" [link] it's in the jukebox at the top of the page. Just skip the rest of the tracks.

So, because I feel like dancing (which, btw, is something you do not want to witness) I hereby declare today: International Ballerina Day

My ex-girlfriend and I are still really good friends.
I showed her the 3d pic I made of Rifka wearing a Hello Kitty thong.
I tell her how I sent it to the Hello Kitty club here on DA and they made me a member. We both laugh.

A couple of days later she comes over after a small shopping spree with a huge smile on her face.
"I have a present for you", she says, handing me a really small package...

So from today I am the proud owner of ... a Hello Kitty thong LOL!

I went to the denstist last friday.
I was laying in that chair, my mouth wide open and numb from the anesthesia and filled with all kinds of tubes and whatnot when suddenly I heard "Meooww..."
The dentists' cat was running loose. lol
I thought it was pretty funny but I couldn't laugh because of all the stuff in my mouth.
