Recently, I found an album in my brother's room that I wanted to put on my iPod, but for some reason iTunes messed up and all of the songs were put under wrong information, and, by chance, I discovered The Festival Song by Pez and I fell in love with it. I love Aussie rap. I really, really do. Some more of my favourites by Pez include I Wanna Go and The Way It Should Be.

On a side note, I'm feeling much better today - I think I've recovered from my crappy mood and feel a lot better knowing that, although there are still little improvements to make, my art project is done and so I have no more major works left to worry about. Phew!

No, Fatman. I shot you in the head and you had no more health left. Just because I have one more bomb left to diffuse does not mean you suddenly can't die. WHAT THE HELL; HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND THE STUPID THING ANYWAY WHEN YOUR FAT CARCASS IS LYING IN THE WAY?

Firstly, I didn't get to sleep last night until about 4am because of a crippling cramp in my stomach which no amount of anti-spasm or anti-stomach-cramp pills or painkillers would dissolve, so I had to endure wave after wave of these really incredibly agonising gut spasms.

Imagine, if you will, the feeling you get when you stub your toe. It hurts, right? Well, what if you stubbed your toe so badly that every few minutes a shooting pain so intense that it made you writhe around in agony shot up into your toe and then the pain radiated outwards so that you thought you had burst a blood vessel and were now suffering from internal bleeding? What if it happened again and again, so that you thought your toe was dying and the incredible pain was the result of some horrible necrosis?

At first you didn't worry too much about it because you thought you could just fall asleep and when you'd wake up the pain would be gone, but you soon came to realise that the pain itself was preventing you from falling asleep in the first place.

Then you lie awake for hours before finally getting up and taking two Buscopan tablets - specifically designed "to treat pain and discomfort caused by abdominal cramps, menstrual cramps, or other spasmodic activity in the digestive system". You think, Great! Just what I need!

Then you go back to bed. Nothing happens. FOR A GODDAMNED HOUR AND A HALF. So you get up again and decide to take some really strong painkillers, similar to Panadeine Forte. Okay, these should work.

Nope. So now you're screwed.

Yeah.

Imagine that for six hours.

You don't get up to wake anyone else to give you some goddamn pills THAT ACTUALLY DO WHAT THE BOX SAYS THEY DO or to take you to the hospital because it's Father's Day tomorrow and you want to give your dad his brand new leather slippers when you can finally move again.

Yeah.

So, finally, at 6:30am, the pain suddenly goes away. Just like that. And you think, Fuck it all. Fuck them all. Happy Fucking Father's Day.

WHAT DID YOU PUT IN THOSE BURGERS, CATHY?

Then, last night, we discovered that some water had blown in towards the dining room following the storm we had on Friday, so there was this massive pocket of water inside the paint. I called everyone over to have a look at it and it suddenly burst, spraying dirty water around. The thing could have been there for over twelve hours, but within a minute of discovering it and then calling everyone around to look at it, the thing burst. Is this good luck, bad luck? Coincidence of the month?

Then I was playing MGS2 this afternoon and I had killed Fatman and he had no health left, except I had a bomb left to diffuse before the game would let me win. But I freaked out because I only had ten seconds left and couldn't find it AND THEN THE BIG SHELL BLEW UP AND I THOUGHT, NOOOOOOOOO WHAT THE HELL MAN!?

Then I got a ginger beer and started sulking.

To top it all off I've got this stupid art project due in tomorrow that I have been putting off for about 10 months and I will probably continue to put it off until 9 or 10 tonight. But, this also means that in about 15 hours it will be due and I will have no more major works EVAR. At least for high school.

WHICH MEANS THAT I CAN FINALLY REGAIN SOME FORM OF A LIFE. I CAN GO BACK TO DRAWING MY OWN ART AND PLAYING VIDEO GAMES AND I CAN EVEN TAKE UP SHOE PAINTING AGAIN. For most Year 12 students, the period of time between the conclusion of trial exams and the commencement of the finallest final exams EVAR, the HSC, in just over six or seven weeks is usually a time to reflect on the marks we got in the trials and to focus on studying hard and improving our grades for the real thing.

NOT ME AHAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry to put this drivel on to your screens - the internet has enough shit on it without me adding to it. Meh.

SO hey guys, guess what? Looks like imma do the 100 Drawings drawing challenge! I'll try to, anyway. I know it's not a new thing to do but I think it will be a good way to practice and also a good way to have some fun! And, as an added bonus, I've decided to give myself an incentive and make everything Metal Gear themed!

So what do you think? I hope I can stick to it! If I like some in particular I might even paint them up. I'm excited now.

... What the hell, I'll paint them all up.

So here, as stipulated by some person somewhere, are the rules:

1) Make 100 pictures, each picture having a theme from the list below. Each picture should have one and only one theme to it for it to count.

2) No time limit, so have fun!

3) a) The main theme of the picture should be drawn, but it is not limited to this. Paint programs can be used.

3) b) Pictures should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the dA etiquette policy. Your pictures can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it!

4) The list below is to be placed somewhere in your journal for others to see:

5) Make sure to update this list and check off what is done and make a link to the picture every now and then.

As some of you may have noticed, I've added some new editions to my gallery over the past days and weeks in an attempt to keep the 'creative juices' flowing while I have all these crazy ideas floating around my head at the moment. Also, I've been trying my hand at some digital art as of late and I'm really happy with the progress I've already made, so I'm going to go out and buy a tablet as soon as the Harvey Norman sale is on!!

Autumn, or Fall, is my favourite time of year, but so sad it is that it comes and goes so quickly. I should count myself lucky, though, that it is still only early and I have another two months to bask in its bounty; bruised and crumpled leaves breaking under my step. Yet, when Winter comes around I will probably be saying how beautiful it is, a cascade of chilled nothingness. Autumn and Winter, kindred to my spirit.

So sorry it has been so long since my last update! I've just had nothing to write about, really. How are we all entering into this festive season? Good, I hope.

I thought I might post a quick entry to let everyone know that today was the last day of school until I officially start year 12 next January. Exciting, no? I've had a lot of ups and downs this year, and one of my bestest buddies might be departing, so it's a sad time, but also a time to reflect and be happy with what I've got, especially since we are entering (or have already entered) into the holiday season.

I've done quite well at school this year, so with my five weeks off I'm going to celebrate, hang out with mates, watch TV, eat, sleep, do a little housework here and there and just generally chill because this will basically be my last 'break' for a whole year.

Merry Christmas to you all; I hope the festive season finds you all in good health, be you with friends, family or by your lonesome.

THE MOST FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH WORD
Well, it's shit ... that's right, shit!
Shit may just be the most functional word in the English language.

Consider: You can get shit-faced, be shit-out-of-luck, or have shit for brains.

With a little effort, you can get your shit together, find a place for your shit, or be asked to shit or get off the pot.

You can smoke shit, buy shit, sell shit, lose shit, find shit, forget shit, and tell others to eat shit. Some people know their shit, while others can't tell the difference between shit and shineola.

There are lucky shits, dumb shits, and crazy shits. There is bull shit, horse shit, and chicken shit. You can throw shit, sling shit, catch shit, shoot the shit, or duck when the shit hits the fan.

You can give a shit or serve shit on a shingle. You can find yourself in deep shit or be happier than a pig in shit. Some days are colder than shit, some days are hotter than shit, and some days are just plain shitty.

Some music sounds like shit, things can look like shit, and there are times when you feel like shit. You can have too much shit, not enough shit, the right shit, the wrong shit or a lot of weird shit.

You can carry shit, have a mountain of shit, or find yourself up shit creek without a paddle. Sometimes everything you touch turns to shit and other times you fall in a bucket of shit and come out smelling like a rose.

When you stop to consider all the facts, it's the basic building block of the English language. And remember, once you know your shit, you don't need to know anything else!! You could pass this along, if you give a shit; or not do so if you don't give a shit! Well, shit, it's time for me to go. Just wanted you to know that I do give a shit and hope you had a nice day, without a bunch of shit. But, if you happened to catch a load of shit from some shit-head...........Well, shit happens!!!

Let me share my fabulous news. Yesterday (Friday) about 15 or 20 girls from the Year 11 and 12 Textiles classes at school (myself included) went over to ____ High School where we took a Fashion Illustration Workshop, which was hosted by the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia which is like, the biggest design college Aus. has. Anyway, the whole day was spent drawing. Oh god, it was good. Firstly we learnt how to draw the figure: you know, how the body consists of 8 heads, how to divide your page ra ra ra. Then we had a go at drawing a face ÂcorrectlyÂ (as if there is a correct way) and then we had a go at a full body figure with clothing, accessories, shoes, hair etc. The whole experience was really great, and of course, there was a prize. One girl was going to walk away with a 5 day short-course scholarship to attend The Whitehouse Institute [link] and participate in a full on week of illustrating and designing. *SQUEE* By the end of the day, the pressure was on and I knew I really wanted that scholarship. Over lunch, the judge, if you will, selected a few girls that she thought would be in the running for the scholarship (all up I think there must have been nearly 40 girls in the room, so there was a lot of competition).
After lunch we continued on with our full body drawings and my teacher quietly mentioned to me that I was one of maybe 8 or 10 girls that they thought had the potential to win. Can you believe it? Me!!! She mentioned that if I wanted it (which I soo did) maybe I should ask some questions and try to schmooze the Whitehouse teacher a lil bit. Talk about suddenly putting the pressure on!
At this point I conversed with my very supportive neighbour (~fionat) what type of questions I should ask, and eventually I mustered up enough courage to ask, ÂSo what do they offer for the short-courses? Can anything you do there lead on to a course you can actually take after you finish school?Â
By this point I was getting a bit nervous and was suddenly freaking out when they said we only had 15 minutes to finish our 30 minute drawing; needless to say I had to work feverishly to get it finished to show up the other girls.
At about 3pm we had a mini exhibition and were asked to display our pieces on the desk. The girls who were in the running for the scholarship were given a poster (me included, again!) and then it was judging time! Man, was I nervous. Natalie ____ who was in charge all day said then that two girls would be given a Highly Commended certificate and another would get the scholarship. When they announced my name and said I was Highly Commended I was so pleased, but also a lil disappointed. In the end, the girl who won the scholarship was in Year 12 and went to the enemy school, but I thought that she was deserving since I have over a whole year of school left before I would even be allowed to apply; whilst she prolly has about 3 months.
But I think that coming equal runner up out of nearly 40 girls is pretty good, donÂt you think? Perhaps now I have a prospective career to think about Â fashion design.

Well, firstly I would just like say that the exams are finally over. Thank you, oh-glorious God/s above. I did pretty well overall; English and Art once again prevailed and, once again, Maths was my downfall with 59.1%. But thatÂs okay Â I'm dealing.

Also, I have in my possession a letter from school congratulating me on the success of my Body of Work which I submitted last term. I got 33/40, apparently, and that puts me at the top of the class. Yay! So that also means that I got to take my work home, which in turn also means that once I get my hands on my brother's camera I will take some photos and finally post them.

Also, I've finally reached 4000 hits. My thanks go out to everyone who stopped by my lil page and helped me finally achieve this milestone. I even have a screenshot of the marvelous event. ^_^ [link]

Also, we are starting a topic on mummies in Ancient History (YES!) and I have hence been inspired to do a title page of some kind. My thoughts at the moment are of a cute little Anubis character (not chibi. Never chibi) but that is still in the early stages of production.

It has definitely been too long since we've all talked. I know that I haven't been posting much in the way of journals or art lately, but what about the rest of you? Drop me a line and we'll catch up.

Well, now that I've caught your attention I'll get straight into it. I can drive now! Yay! Yesterday I went to do the DKT [link] and I passed, so now I have my Learner's permit and I will be on the road (so look out!).

Ah, what else? As I mentioned, I haven't been posting much art lately (which sucks, I know) and for that I'm sorry, but the last couple of weeks have been really hectic with assignments and all sorts of deadlines (I had to scramble big time to actually get my BOW in on time), but enough with the excuses. It is now, once again the school holidays and that means I am giving my full attention to, other than my school books for revision, drawing. Jess and Arlen - I am working on your pics and hopefully they will be up soon so don't fret.

Going to a sleep over tonight so I won't be online and so forth. Me and ~fionat are going to be sewing for our Textiles project so maybe I'll post the final products.

Oh my god, have any of you had a chance to read the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer yet? Hands down the best book of 2008. I seriously recommend you check it out: [link]

There really isn't that much in the way of headlines I'm afraid, but it starts to get to me if I leave an old journal up for too long.

Well, first and foremost, sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have been drawing/painting but this system for some reason has been crapping up on me and I haven't been able to upload, so I'll just describe what I've been creating.

-Well, last week I drew a portrait of my friend Katie for her 17th birthday. The ref image I used was a photo from our Year 10 formal and it was all rendered in graphite - mainly B and 2B. She liked it (so did everyone else! ^_^)

-I've been in the process of painting/drawing a mighty big self portrait at school. Ok, so it's only A3 but you get the idea. The plan for this pic is to draw my face quite large in charcoal, mainly, then draw (or, rather superimpose) about 3 other faces (in different angles e.g. profile, 3 quarter etc) in charcoal over the top. So far, the only part that's coloured is my eye shadow on the larger face, which is a purple kind of wash. As soon as I take that and my other large artworx from school home, I'll take some photos to post.

-Also, just last night I drew a lil pic of everyone's favourite turtles (actually only one of them) that I intended to post, but I drew it in H or 2H which is too light for our scanner, so you may have to wait for a lil while to see that until I make it darker.

And I've drawn something for English but I don't like it at all, so I will not be posting it and that has left me even more annoyed today.

But onto other news (of which there is little), I have made the same bi-monthly lie to you all again, and that is that I have some art in the works at the moment and when I finally drag myself out of the air-conditioned lounge room and up to my drawing board in my room, I will draw and post some more art - soon!
That's it I guess; my brain has partly melted anyway, so I think it's remarkable that I've been able to type this much. Sayonnara dudes and dudettes!

I spent my New Year's Eve at a teacher's house with some friends babysitting his kids, and, as sad as that may sound I had a pretty good time. The plan was to stick around until he got home (presumably after midnight) then catch a taxi home to said friend's house and stay there. Well, that all went according to plan, accept that my PE teacher came home early (at 11pm - what a wimp!), but despite that we stayed until after midnight in any case. I hope all your New Years parties were as exciting as mine!

Well, it's not so much of an update this time, but since my last journal was posted on the 18th of last month, I thought it was time for a change. I have recently purchased a new book called, 'Skulduggery Pleasant' (some of you may know the title) and upon completion of said book I decided to draw a bit of poster art for it. I dare say that the draught for said pic will be up very shortly.

Well, I'm still on holidays and still surfing deviantART quite vigorously in conjunction with playing Duke Nukem 3D, so I am trying to be around quite a bit more and am trying even harder to come up with some new ideas for drawings. So far, that isn't proving too difficult but we'll just have to see how that plays out. Oh! And to everybody who made New Year's Resolutions - good luck and stick to them!

Wasn't sure I'd get there in the end, but tomorrow we will recieve our School Certificate and all our test results!! I'm so excited! Also, we're going out for our annual Chrissie party at Pizza Hut and then to the Street Party, so we're defiintely finishing with a bang! I'm feeling a little nostalgic at the loss of some of my teachers, like good ol' Miss Cook, but it's been fun.

I don't really have any pressing issues that need discussing, or addressing, but for the sake of filling up space I'll try and ramble on about something.

So...how 'bout them current events? Oh, I know what I can talk about - The School Certificate! Last week on Mon, Tue and Wed our whole Year 10, uh, year sat for the school certificate exams. On Monday morning it was English, which I found to be pretty easy. There was a section about writing a piece of text focusing on 'laughter' so I wrote about some lame comedian who loved to do stand-up but sucked arse at it. Go figure.

Next was Science, and that wasn't 2 bad. Then on Tuesday morning it was Maths which I felt was a lot easier than the trial we did and then in the afternoon it was History/Geography. Geo was piss-easy, ofcourse, but I was a little worried about my History multiple choice. Meh. Then on Wednesday it was computers, which was easy too. I'm so glad we've finished all the course work/requirements - now it's just 3 whole weeks of bludging!

We get the results next month at the graduation assembly/ceremony. So, here is the list for impending results:

Also, I hope to have the pencils for an Aussie Christmas piece I'm working on up tomorrow. I can't upload anything here at home (dunno why) so I'll have to do it @ school.

Well, as my title may suggest I have in fact lost half a litre of blood as of yesterday in my first blood donation!

It felt good to be able to help people, and I will find out what blood type I am in a few weeks.

Also, the exams are looming which means that I haven't been doing much drawing; although, I haven't been studying much either so I don't know where all the time is going! But I have managed to finally upload some pics via the school network of the first page of Mannmz and I's comic, Wild. Also, I've posted a drawing from a scene from a book in my favourite series, 'Dragonkeeper.' I hope to have that one completed (inked and coloured) in a few days, if not next week.
