Since it's October and All Hallows Eve will soon be here I thought that it would be interesting to watch scary movies each day leading up to Halloween. October 1 & 2 was a miss...I just forgot. So far I've watched Thirteen Ghosts, Saw IV, Saw V, The Unborn, Trick r Treat, Ghost Ship and now Wallace & Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit. I'm NOT going to watch The Exorcist. It scared the crap out of me the first & last time I saw it.

Still working on some drawings, but the scanner is still broken.

Every time I tried to sketch something out the idea just vanished, but I am getting back into the swing of things. Funny enough my scanner decided to die so now a new problem.

I've started reading the Ultimate X-Men...my sister got me hooked on it, plus a lot of older X-Men issues. I'm a bit of a graphic novel junkie so reading some past stores like "X-Men: Mutant Genesis" with Jim Lee's artwork is just so inspiring.

The sketches are staying as sketches and I have no inspiration what soever thus it might take a very long time before I get anything up.

Again for the third time I have watched Repo the Genetic Opera & I still love it. I know many people don't like it but I appreciate it and what they tried to do on a very small budget and dare I say it?! Paris was not that bad in it at all. Elements of comedy and blood and gore, but Pavi & Luigi Largo are my most favorite out of the characters.

O.K here are my lists of my top 10 in 2008. As I have said earlier it’s what I felt was the best of 2008 something’s weren’t even made/written in 2008, I’m not a journalist or entertainment writer so I don’t get to go out and see the latest…work also keeps me back sometimes. All right as confusing as that was here I go!

Top 10 movies:
1.	Batman the Dark Knight: I found Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker very eerie and breathe taking. Also the look of Two-Face was unbelievable.
2.	Iron Man: Robert Downey JR as Tony Stark…enough said.
3.	The Orphanage: Why is it that other countries know how to scare you without using buckets of blood? In Spanish with English subtitles. Can’t say much without giving the whole movie away.
4.	DR. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! : I was skeptical with this one due to the fact that I love the original animated version of this. The CG was amazing in it and although they changed things as often they do and added a ton of filler plus some modern things it was still pretty decent.
5.	Eastern Promises: I still love this movie although I found the ending to be rushed. The sauna scene an added bonus.
6.	No Country For Old Men: What can I say…I just loved this movie. I had read the book before watching the movie so I understood the movie a little bit better.
7.	Pan’s Labyrinth: Another foreign film that I just love. Avery strange, sad and lovely bedtime story.
8.	Night Watch/Day Watch: Russian movies that have tied at eight. I was horrified with the English dub for Night Watch so I watched both movies in their rightful language with the English subtitles. Loved the effects.
9.	3:10 to Yuma: Just a great Western.
10.	Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: After all these years I am still captivated by this movie. If you can get by the huge bulge in David Bowie’s pants.

Top 10 T.V Shows:
1.	Metalocalypse Season I: The Metalocalypse has Begun & Season II: Black Fire Upon Us: What can I say? Just watch it.
2.	American Dad Season 2: Roger the Alien has finally won my respect. I also love Claus the fish. I just love this show.
3.	CSI: New York: Out of all the CSI’S I find this one the most interesting.
4.	Flash Point: Great Canadian police show of the special response unit.
5.	Black Jack: The new TV show of my favorite Tezuka characters. The new animation for it (they adopted his style of drawing) from after seeing the OVAs and the happy endings and some other characters are a bit tiring but it’s Black Jack.
6.	Death Note: Granted I haven’t finished the series, but it is a very interesting concept.
7.	Allo Allo!: British comedy from the ‘80’s. I still laugh when I watch it.
8.	The Muppet Show: After all these years I still love this show.
9.	The Munsters: Not the remade Munsters Today, but the classic one with Yvonne De Carlo.
10.	TaleSpin: One of my favorite Disney Afternoon shows.

Top 10 CD’s:
1.	Within Temptation – The Black Symphony: haunting live album with DVD. I love the Intro and Jillian. The first two tracks.
2.	Lambert Wilson – Loin: My favorite French Actor and his I believe third album.
3.	Helena Paparizou – Iparhi Logos: One of my Favorite Greek singers.
4.	Elli Kokkino – Ki Allo: This album has one
5.	Within Temptation – The Heart of Everything: Great metal album.
6.	Dethklok – The Death Album Special Edition: The Coffee Jingle!
7.	Tarja – My Winter Storm: Alice Cooper’s song Poison sung operatic. Enough said.
8.	Repo! The Genetic Opera (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack): A movie that critic’s hate but has a following. I love a lot of the songs on the album.
9.	Nolwenn Leroy – Nolwenn Leroy: A great French singer.
10.	The Pipettes – We Are the Pipettes: They sound like they have come right out of the ‘60’s.

Top 10 Books:
1.	Ian Fleming – From Russia With Love
2.	Cormac McCarthy – No Country For Old Men
3.	Neil Gaiman – Neverwhere
4.	Terry Pratchett – THUD!
5.	Hideyuki Kikuchi -Vampire Hunter D Raiser of Gails
6.	Keith R.A. DeCandido – Resident Evil: Extinction: The movie sucked but the novelization is much better.
7.	Tim Burton – Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories
8.	Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman – Good Omens
9.	Neil Gaiman – Coraline
10.	Clive Cussler – Sahara

Top 10 Video Games:
1.	Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Nintendo DS)
2.	Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (Nintendo DS)
3.	Hotel Dusk Room 215 (Nintendo DS)
4.	Looney Tunes Duck Amuck (Nintendo DS)
5.	Silent Hill Home Coming (PS3)
6.	Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP)
7.	Resident Evil 0 (Game Cube)
8.	Princess Peach (Nintendo DS)
9.	Tetris
10.	Trauma Under the Knife (Nintendo DS)

Well that is it. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
...

So I thought long and hard about this and came up with this list. So here are my top 10 Christmas movies:

1. Eastern Promises (It is a Christmas movie)
2. Die Hard
3. The Nightmare Before Christmas
4. Dr Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (animated not the creepy live action)
5. Elf
6. Mickey's A Christmas Carol
7. A Christmas Carol (the original 1951 one, with Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge)
8. Batman Returns
9. Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer (stop motion chunky animation but I still love it)
10. Scrooged

Well there it is my list. On another note some holiday drawings will soon be up. I finally have free time!

EDIT:I forgot one of my other most favorite Christmas movies Love Actually, but then again it wouldn't be a top 10 it would be a top 11 list

I assure you all I am still kicking around. I have since tucked that work away so I don't have to look at it and be reminded of that moment.

I have some Metalocalypse fan art in my sketchbook but no motivation to post any of it up.
Well, I wont be posting anymore Chicklok fan art up for awhile. No it isn't that I don't like drawing the characters it's just that I have other works that are crying for attention. There will be one final one, but I'm not saying of who or what it is about or even if it is done in the retro style.

Yes there are some Dethklok works on the way and not just Pickles (although I draw him more than any other character).

What other things have I been up to? Not saying, but some are original characters & others are fanart.

That is all for now.

EDIT:OMG I just hit 2000 page views! I should do something for this.

Okay, as the title says this is a movie review of the anime 'Black Jack the two doctors of darkness'. I have finally seen it and this is my take on it.

The movie consists of three Tezuka stories. One that has Black Jack realize that Biwamaru the blind accupuncturist uses the same black smith(Hyojisai) as he does. The Black Smith collapses and both try their techniques to save him, but in the end Hyojisai dies. The other story is titled 'Black Mirror Image' and it's Black Jack up against Dr Kiriko. This story basically illustrates how different the two doctors are and sets the wheels in motion for the main story arc in the movie. The third story is when Black Jack and Kiriko are asked to cure patients that have been used as test subjects for the military. Kiriko and Black Jack realize that no matter what the outcome is they will be killed to keep it a secret. This story is the main one used in the movie. Sadly I can't remember its title or the other story title.

Now here is what I liked about the movie. When Black Jack and Kiriko meet at the temple after the operation on the mother. Kiriko makes the point of and I quote 'When creatures die, they die from the forces of nature. Only humans try to prolong their livesby going against those forces. So which way is right, Black Jack?' The whole panel was done exact as the manga story, which I just loved. I also like the fact that we get to find out a little bit more about Dr Kiriko and that we hear from him why he does what he does. Also the fact that Kiriko is not really a bad guy, and actually kicks some butt in the movie. He redeams himself in this movie a couple of times. You can sympathize with him. He is right in saying that war is cruel not his methods.
The fact that Rock makes a main appearance in this story. He is in many different Tezuka stories.
The fact that Kiriko balances out Black Jack in realizing that death is also a part of life, but the fact that Black Jack can't even accept it and works against it. It took Black Jack to 'die' to finally understand what Hyojisai's note meant.

What I didn't like about the movie. I really don't like the 'filler' characters such as the dog Largo (I can't stand this dog), Shuraku etc. I can understand having them put in the tv show since there really aren't that many characters in the Black Jack world except for Pinoko, Kiriko, the cop that chases after Black Jack and of course different patients as well. But really did we need them for the movie? I can understand for comedic reasons, but thats all.
The cutsie animal called Polly. Did we need the useless Polly? Only there for the comedic reasons and to finally do something such as attack a shooter. I also didn't like that you could figure out that the cure for Satan is in Rock or Midori because Rock is unaffected by it and Midori since she is recieving Rock's blood his less horrible symptoms.

I've also noticed in the movie that they use a neat little whistling tune to emphasize Black Jack's loneliness and saddness. They seem to play a slow sexy jazzy tune for Kiriko's appearances which is odd yet fitting. Also it seems that if soimeone triggers Black Jack to remember back to the death of his mother he tends to take their case. It happens in the movie and it happened in the tv show along with BlackJack 21. Another comparison that I have noted is the fact that the Daedalus Pharmaceuticals could be compared to Umbrella from Resident Evil. The incident and bio weapons. Black Jack could not only be a genius surgeon, but also a cop. He seems to get himself into those situations.

I found it funny that both the Dr that injected Rock and his friends with Satan and the big boss of Daedalus both asked the Dr of Death Kiriko to save them. My sister pointed out the two lines that Black Jack says to Kiriko before he removed the bullet sound yoaifull and that the slashers/yoai fans probabley went nuts. All in all I think that those lines can be taken either or.

I have more to say but I feel that it may bore you, so that's it. Over all I loved the movie. There where some parts that seemed to drag on, but it seems every movie good/bad has a scene(s) that drag on. I'm still trying to get used to the animation style which is similar to Tezuka's drawing style. I guess I was spoiled by the OVAs and the first Black Jack movie.
