its the final three weeks of class, joy and rapture. I have a group project due that's not really acting like a group project, or I should say that the members of my group aren't really acting like a group.

its not that they're not willing to talk to each other, they're just not willing to put forth the effort to meet out side the time the teacher is giving us in class. I don't think they realize that the teacher doesn't have to give us class time to meet. she could just ask us to turn in a certain amount of work or outlines from time to time, and we're SOL for meeting.

I mention that we could E-mail to each other, something the teacher again, suggested. The teacher made us exchange contact information. The people just seem to ignore it.

Its not as if I've sat there and let them think this, I've said several times that its a group project, thus, we're supposed to meet, as a group, and talk about the project....*sigh*

I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant, but it did. I just have to keep telling myself make it work, pass the class.

but come on, its INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS, having a group project is like, DUUUUH. ......

outside that, I have 2 more or less reaction papers, and a report for ASL 1, gotta figure those out, and art, lots of drawing, I have a feeling I'm not gonna wanna draw anything for a while once I'm done with that class.

I did score nicely on my last two projects though, so I'm happy with that. and certainly far better than I'd have thought for the one. I really need to get a hold of my mothers camera and take some decent pictures of my art. I also need to ask whether or not we'll get the matted pieces that are being shown in the caff back. cause I rather like the one that's going up in the show...

well, off to see if my bottle of frozen lemonade has thawed enough that some of its actually drinkable, night.

Instead, I'm sitting here typing, after I came in here to return something to my room, and for whatever reason, I sat at my computer. It was probably a very logical reason to sit at my computer too, like I was looking for something, or checking my last essay to see if I could edit it anymore without driving myself crazy.

What has that simple reason turned into though? Oh I went through all my favorite fics and checked them for updates, tried to fiddle with my myspace blog layout. And when that got too irritating then I just surfed randomly for a bit.

Sure, I tried to read the textbook, and I made one last ditch effort to make myself happy with my essay (gotta remember to go print that out) but it always leads back to the computer.

during this last bout of computer bounded ness I've checked all my fics (must stop obsessing on them) did some random art starring, tried and failed at finding anymore decent Doujinshi and I have a feeling out of sheer desire not to go read the darn sociology text, I created a live journal account, so that I could comment on fics posted on LJ without having to be anonymous.

So now I sit here, tweaking my LJ profile and hitting the replay button on my myspace page cause I can't get the song in an mp3 anywhere, typing away about all this in yet one more way to avoid having to go read that darn book.

but alas, I can only talk to my own head for so long, and I really have nothing I haven't already looked at today and I will have to go and read the book, if only for the fact that I know I have a test Tuesday, and if I can't get a high grade, I can at least try to pass.

what this all boils down to in my question is that as they're sawing apart the old boards, the saw dust that they're kicking up smells like the cigars my brother used to smoke, and I want to know why, but to do that, I'd have to find out what the name of those cigars were, what kind of wood the boards are made of, what kind of chemicals and glue and such they used to keep the fibers together....and well, I just don't have that kind of money or time, so I'm left with that smell floating around the house, makeing me curious, thus makeing me nuts, cause I do that when I'm curious...gotta stop that.

it was funny to me that, after all the new boards were laid dowm and nailed in, and the padding had been spread out and *snickers* after my aunt convinced my dad (and I still say this only worked cause she's his sister) to bring the carpet in too....anyway, it was after the carpet was laying on the floor and we were all sprawled out testing it out, and being lazy before trying to kick it into place, that I notices that even though all the saw dust had been swept up the room still held that smell, and it was in mentioning it to my brother (not the one that smoked the cigars though) that I suddenly remembered the name of the brand, go figure eh.


my father has a....eh, not a bad sense of humor, can't be, cause I laughed at the joke, but, it seems also like a bad joke....

a few minutes after they had put down the last board, he looked toward the kitchen where my mother was, and yelled out "Honey, where's the cat?" it seems like a bad joke, because its about an animal being trapped where it can't get out, but yet, I think it was funny cause we all knew that the cat was hiding far far away from the noise, and wouldn't be anywhere near the living room......curse my natural ability to see both sides of an issue.

ok, I think my brain is truely frazzled, that or I'm haveing too much fun chatting with ChibiEdo to remember what else I was going to talk about....*grin*

This afternoon I decided to take a nap, since dozeing off every other word in the book I need to read for class isn't good. I don't know how long I acctually dreamed, but I can remember that it was the oddest combination of things in the dream, there were three women, who I swear were supposed to be the sisters from charmed, Piper, Pheobee and Paige, I don't remember if they looked like them or not, but that who they "said" they were, and like they do, they were canting and holding candles, all that good stuff, then suddenly one of them moves thier candle and a bunch of random stuff catches fire, including her arm, and when she looks down to try to blow out her arm, she dissapears in a poof of smoke, I woke up after that, as the other two were stareing at where the other one had been.

The thing is, I can't remember haveing this dream before, but it still seem familiar, oh well, we'll see what I dream tonight, since I still feel like crap, and I had that nap, and I still feel as tired as I did before that nap.

I'm tempted to sip the reading that I need to do for my class and skipping to the answers in the study guide and answer the questions that way, really, cause even the discussion questions have what pages to find the answers on, it's almost too easy, but I'd feel bad for not reading...we'll see what happens.

so all this ramble here boils down to the question

why can't classes be lecture based?

and though I ask, I know that not all lessons can be taught through lecture, not all people learn through lecture either, some things just work better when you sit and read it yourself.

I could rant about the pros and cons of school and it's evil underlings all day, but I'll spare you and stop now.

in other news, apparently, even through the torn back to cold weather, whatever in the world it is in our yard that gives me allergies is alive and kicking, cause right now, I can't even move my eye, let alone blink with out it kicking up an itch, no matter how much I rub or blink, I think the only reason my nose isn't running more than it already is, is becuase it's so frozen from the tempurature of my room, I don't know how accurate it is, but I have a thermometor attached to one of my clocks, and it read 71 degrees, now that may seem warm to you people, but I really think the thing is lieing, I really do, that or my body works like a snake and needs to lie in the sun to warm up.

Lots of other stuff has happened lately, but, it's late, and I have to decide if I'm going to bother getting up in the morning to go with my brother to his meeting, so I should get some sleep, and really try to stop ignoring my sociology book.

I'd hoped they'd swapped places with back with the lady bugs really

last year, around this time....not time, weather really, the stink bugs started attacking, more like they ran into the house every chance they got, we'd find them in the strangest places sometimes, and then, once it finnaly got really cold, and then acctually snowed, they stopped showing up, but let me tell you, now that it's getting warm again, and I don't "have" to wear a coat all the time.....I kinda hoped they'd stay gone...no such luck, this morning my mother woke up with one on her cheek *shudder* I'd have screamed bloddy murder probably if it'd been me, but that's me, I despise bugs.

then, this evening, after I took my shower and was getting dressed, I picked up a pair of underwear that was laying on a pile of wash on my hopechest, and let me tell you, was I ever glad that I shook them out really well before I put them on, cause when I shook them, a stink bug landed on the floor *shudders more* I'm still getting the creeps, and it was hours ago now.

like I said, they're baaaaack.

*mutters darkly* I went through all this trouble to remodle the whole lower floor of the house, gave the girl a big room, cause I declared that this would be this particular sims last child, so I was gonna spoil it...

and then once I finished, and made sure all my sims were happy, I paused the game to save an quit, and what do I do when I hit the quit button and wait for the little do you want to save before quitting box pops up? I realize that I don't have a scren cap of the updated family tree where the toddler is a child now, so I go to his cancel and grab said screen shot, and what do I do, but his no instead of cancel *shakes head* now I can't remember where I last saved, but I can tell you that it's likely while the girl was still a toddler, really, I'm afraid to turn the game back on to find out.....

and I must remember that the girl had just gotten a gerbil named Hubert...don't ask me why I named it Hubert, I just go with what pops into my head, hence why Laury's second son is names Kavin, it popped into my head, and could be spelled with a k......

now onto the Simage!

This is mainly for the benifit of dear sweet Laury, as I've finnally been able to create the sim basesd off her and her boy toy, like I said I would, way back in like, november or something, only to have my cd drive break and make that not posible.

and why am I posting this here....? I'm not really sure, maybe simply because I can...

so, I created these sims, and pardon me for refering to him as boy toy Laury, if that bother's you or anything, but it's stuck in my head, and I don't know what else to call him, anyway..uhh...... new paragraph

I created each one seperatly, so that they'd both have thier own last names, cause as far as I know, the game won't let you make householdes with different last names *shrug* and I moved them in with one of my other sim family's to get them to meet and get to know each other, and so that they could move out of there and find thier own place together (it's makes sense if you play the game alot) and that be what I did.....I'm shortening this alot, plus I didn't snap any images while they were in that house.

now onto where I have snapshots

these are all after the 2 have moved into thier own house, which I need to remodle, but I was waiting till I got them happy with each other and married first.....that and it's easier to know how I want to remodle the house, and where to make them sit before going into build mode, so their out of the rebuild path so to speak..

as I said, my first goal when I moved them into thier own house, was to get them happy with each other, and married, thus why you see 2 beds, since sims that aren't crushing on each other or in love won't even share a bed, not as far as I can tell, here Laury sim decided to sleep in her underwear...maybe she sensed Jay sims weakness *sniggers* I just realized that.....

anyway, so I have a new cd drive, *whoops* I can open all my files that I have on disc again and play my games *grins* I got the Sims 2 Pets expansion pack and one of the items expansion packs for christmas and I haven't been able to load them till now! ..now I just have to figure out how to control and train the pets, I figured out how to teach the dog a new command, but outside that all I can figure out is how to feed them....must read the manual...

*coughs* ok, I've calmed down now, files are all transfered and that, made copies for my brother like I promised....although all he really asked for was the movie *grins* he asked the wrong person if all he wanted was a little movie.

well, thats all really, just felt like screaming for joy at that little realization, not that I wouldn't like for my cd drive to work, then I could play my sims, but till then I'm happy, and now I'm going to wait patiently for the new chapter of FMA to be released.

my brother got the first 4 saeasons on DVD for christmas, and we're slowly working our way through them allllllllllllll.....I'm just glad he didn't make us go through the first season again, since our mother already had it and we'd watched them all shortly before the holidays, I forget if we finished season 3 last night or not, I'll find out when dinners ready I guess.

*grins* I'm a maniac, I've become obsessed with the Ed/Roy pairing from FMA, I didn't think it was possible, I thought I was such a strict Ed/Winry fan, but I've been proven wrong, I read one fic, and though eh not so bad, the next day I figured why not and read another, and that was it, I was lost, I've been sucking up every good fick I can find since, and that was....what, yesterday, maybe the day before and I have to have read....I don't know how many fics *bashes head on desk* its no wonder I'm going half blind, all this stareing at the computer screen *sigh* I'd really rather print these storys out and read them that way, but the thought of the paper and ink makes me cringe, especially if the story turns out to be bad.

ah well, maybe I'll give my eye's a break and go read the new books my brother got me...thet seem interesting, even if the covers do look wierd....I thought the same thing of the cover of Cybil, but I know thats an interesting story......well, thats based off the movie....I'm told the books worse, I suppose I should acctually read that one too, since I went out and got a copy...

so many things to read, such tired little eyes.

*sign* well I found him, not very far from the house acctually, curled up like he was takeing a nap on the couch, only he wasn't takeing a nap.....my mother figures that it was just his time to go by the way he went off and the fact that he went outside at all really, he was 15/16+ years old, but it still hurts that he's gone....I just hope that when my brother and his family get back I don't break down, like I did telling my mother, when my niece askes where the cat is.

what else did we do....eh, not much, it was more spending time togther, the guy's usually go golfing and or fix something up at my brothers house, its sorta a traditon, but apparent'y it was a lazy year for that, whatever, the girls went shopping, as usual on black friday, and as usual I stayed home, both to help watch the kids while the guys were supposedly working, and because I just don't have the stamina to keep up with them for that kind of shopping, I'd much rather go shopping with Bunny and Laury, I think we'd have fun on black friday, if our shopping adventures at memorial day were any indication

we went to see Happy Feet, Thanksgiving night, which has also become a tradition for then, I liked it for the most part, but really, I think I'd have to watch it again, at home to get a real opinion of it, since I was sitting so close to the screen this time, but it was funny, its hard not to have some funny with Robin Williams in the cast

*grins* we went to this Japanese Hibachi resturant on saturday night, which has become another tradition, and we confused the crap out of the waitress, cause they have tables set up wrapped around 2 of thier grills, for large groups, or 2 small groups, and since we're considered a large group (12 total) they showed us our tabel and set half of our menuse at one grill and half at the other, and when she came back to take drink orders, we were all squezzed at the one grill, so, we ordered drinks, got those, confused her more with which parent was shareing the childs share plate with Piper(the kid gets thier own appatizer and rice, but the chef gives them a bit of the person whos shareing with them meat) and then once we'd ordered our food, my one brother and his wife traded places for better comfort, and when the chef came out to start cooking, got lost as to who got what because of it...really, we wern't trying to confuse them, but they really were a little slow on the catching on bit, just wait a few more years after we've added more kids *grins* right now we fill 2 of the three full sides around the grinlls plus one of the short sides, if we keep going the way we are, we'll not only need bith grillls and 2 chefs to feed us, they'll have to add another table too

like tonight for example, earlier I was trying to hem up this old dress Piper got from one of our cousins and at some point or another it blew the fuse, and just a litttle while ago my father went downstairs to iron only to call up 2 minutes later that the basement was getting water in it, again, which apparetnly isn't that bad yet, as my father wasn't screaming his head off about it, just bringing it to our attention, so I continued to work on my stuff, when suddenly the power in my room goes off, now, the rain dosen't get all the blame for this one, , cause, if it had been the storm, the power would have gone off in the whole house, but no, it was just my room (and perhaps the rest of this end of the house) but the kitchen and living room were still lit, so guess what that means, the guy's threw a fuse while trying to stop the water and had to reset it, and guess where my work was, almost done and *holds thumb and forefinger tiny distance apart* this far from being done

of course, I can alway's go back and start over on what I was working on, but its just a pain in the butt, when I was so close to finishing, and could be doing something else right now.

well, I'm done ranting now, so I'm gonna go back to my food and figure out what I'm gonna do

*chuckles* I got some of my christmas gifts out of the way, and I even mannaged to get a deal on them, and its funny, to me at least that I got them things that I wished I'd gotten when I was thier age, but then, I've heard that said to be one way to make sure someone likes what you give em....*shrug*

I got my niece a magnetic paper doll dress up truck thingy that features some of the Disney princesses and got my nephew a crayola brand playdough kit with molds and such *grin* my parents looked at the play dough thing and sort of grined at the idea, since my nephews mother is a bit of a clean freak...thus the possible mess of such would irritate her somewhat...my response to that was "its better than poo" cause not long ago, my dear sweet nephew did use his poo as play dough/paint ...*grins* so *shrug* if his mother complains about the clay, that'll be my response, "its better than poo" *rofl*

oddity of oddity, I am wearing a pair of my mothers jeans, granted that thier stretch jeans and they were a little too large for her, but that hasn't happened since I was like.....what, 12, I can't remember the last time I could wear any of my mothers pants, shirts yes, but pant's, I don't know if I ever wore any of hers.....mayhap that is a sign of wieght lose *shrug* I wouldn't know, our scales broken, and even if it wern't, it hates me.

alrighty then, enough rambleing, I hear my mothers voice, so it must mean she's back from the store and I need to go help with dinner *waves* laters

oh yeah, thats the other thing that happened, my dad tried to set our yard full of leaves on fire this afternoon, my brother had used the leaf blower to clear off the driveway, and my dad brought out the mower to suck them up quicker, logical idea, since the mower has three big buckets to catch debris and the leaf blower has this little bag thats about half the size of one of the mowers bukets, and as he ran the mower through the pile of leaves, he stopped the mower, got off and started stomping the leaves, and confused the crap out of my brother till he saw smoke coming from the leaves. What happened was that too many leaves got caught under the...whatever you call the part that covers the blades, and it caused so much friction from the blade belt that it set the leaves on fire, fun huh?


anyway, it's after dark, and my room turns into an icecube this time of year, so I'm gonna go warm up

there's this new diner thats down the road from our house, they've been working on it for a while now, months and months, and everything looks ready but all we ever see on the sign thats outside for posting news about the place is "Coming Soon" so, the other day...sometime last week I think, we saw that one side of the sign acctually read something new, and said they'd be opening at 6 am on monday (tomorrowthat is, as I write this) and we made plans to go in as soon as we got up, cause well, we're diner people, and we have to scope out the new diners, so, why not on the first day right when they open, *chuckles* ever since we saw that sign we've been makeing jokes.....well, we've been makeing jokes about the owner for haveing the comming soon sign up and never changeing it, anyway, my favorite joke out of the bunch would probably be the one about how we'd all go trooping in there (cause we have a big family) and we'd make the guy rergret announceing the day he was opening...of course, just as good is the disscussion on how the people, or most of the people, around here are Pennsylvania Dutch, and if and once they've decided that they don't like your food, well, you can pretty much kiss your resturant bye bye, not that thier mean, they just won't go to eat there, and they have alot of friends

ok, so now, that I've shared my story, just cause it makes me giggle, I guess I should go to bed so I can acctually get up to go eat

oh, interesting little bit, the place is named the Red Plate Diner, we're holding a bet to see if they use red plates to play a pun with the name....

Lifes been interedting lately, many things have been happening, some I'd really rather not talk about, some I can't remember clearly enough to talk about *grin* we went to my uncles last weekend, to celebrate his birthday...that was an interesting time, either he's gotten over his melodrama of birthdays or he was too drunck to care this year, we talked over the computer with one of my other uncles that lives in Wisconsin *chuckles* its interesting to just sit back and watch the other people try to get in the camera shot....we're going to another birthday party tommorow, my cousins daughter (who is my cousin...just seems wierd....but then sometimes I forget I'm an aunt so*shrug*) anyway, my cousins daughter turns one..on the 20th I think, but since they live in...New Hampshire I think...they're haveing the party here at her mothers house

well, guess what call we got last night from my brother...yup, his wife is pregnant, yay for me, I get to be an aunt again, wonder if I'll get another niece, thatd be cool, but whichever it is, I'll spoil em rotten....oooo think about it, there could be twins, fun *grins*

the other "fun" *insert sarcasim on the fun* thing this morning was listening to my father relay the story of the lady who found the finger in the chili (if you haven't heard about this story, don't ask, its stupid) and then a little while ago as I was eating my last slice of pizza I bit into a fingernail *shudders* we managed to figure out that it was my brothers *long story* but even so *shudders*

what else is new, ah yes, I'm typeing right now with a very cross eyed/dizzy felling, all because the people who designed the kitchen made the hood over the stove too far out, and I cracked my head on it when I bent to dump some stuff in the trash and I still can't quite remember what I was doing before I hit my head. Like that whole packing the Christmas decorations away thing, I had most everything away, all I had left to go was put away the two large ceramic decorations we have and I would have been done, but is that good enough for her? no, because silly me, I used a cardboard box to pack some of the stuff in, and heavan forbid if I use a cardboard box cause it gets put in storage all year and might get water damage (which never happened in all the years we only had cardboard boxes available) so I had to repack all that stuff and naturally there isn't a plastic tote the same size as the cardboard box the stuff was in before, so I had to refit everything into two or three of those totes *mutters* if I never see another one of those totes I'll die happy

*sigh* now I have to go and make lables for these things or we'll end up searching through the multitude of idential totes next year

there's this line I heard or read somewhere that says "everyone in the world is crazy(odd/wierd/whatever you want to call it) its just a matter of everyone else getting used to everyone elses crazy" and I feel that that statement is correct, cause I have friend who do or belive things that I think is odd, and I do things that they think is wierd, and thats the way it should be cause everyone should be different and they shouldn't have to be afraid of expressing those differences. ]]> ~ShineLumiere
