I'm pleased to announce that the Wolfxchange over LJ is up and running again. So if your in the mood for making some wolfy art, please feel free to stop by and check it out. On a side note, I've been away from DA for a good bit now. The facade has change but I see much of what was lying underneath still remains very much the same. I plan to be around more than I have been. Nothing excessive, but more than recent times. So thusly I am in a sense wanting to start over here. My watch is sort of so backed up it's a lost cause to catch up on. But right now. I'm making a clean slate and starting fresh. Definitely looking forward to catching up with every one again. Renewing friendships and seeing some great art and photos.

Eep. I've been slacking here again. Just when I start to get caught up on things... Stuff comes up, I get distracted then next thing I now my message center is hideously over run and beyond catching up with fully. I will at least view all deviations, but will probably only comment on one or two in your gallery. There is just no way I can make like 500 comments on every single piece of art/photography that I have in my watch right now. Same with the journals. I'll browse them, but only comment if I think I actually something worth saying. lol.

I also have a new game to absorb whatever free time I used to have. Which is another reason for being slow here. Eep. The World of Warcraft. (the next bit is a lazy copy and paste from my LJ, so if you read it there, you don't need to read it here)

Yep. That's right, I have WoW now. Little slow, right? I mean it's only been around for what? 4 years now? lol. Fact of the matter is, I wouldn't even have it now if a friend hadn't recently gotten it and brought to the surface of my attention. I mean of course I knew about it... I just never really paid it any mind before.

So anyways, after talking about it and mentioning to my husband that I'd like to give the free trial thing a try and also taking a bit of teasing from it in return. XD On mother's day he went out and bought WoW with the expansion and surprised me with it. Isn't that sweet! My reward for all my selfless mom dedication comes in game form. lol

Anyways, with that said, I just thought I'd poke people here and see if there where any other WoW gamers around. I'm currently questing with a lvl 12 Draenei Hunter. I love having a pet. They are so helpful. I named my Ravager, Bob. hehe. (NS should get that reference XD) However, I'm up for making a new character or two as well, so if anyone doesn't mind hanging out with a noob, I'd be happy to run around and kill stuff with you. Or if your interested in starting a new race or something, maybe we can start at the beginning together. Just let me know. ^_^'

Hello everyone! First off I'd like to apologize for my absence lately. I was actually being really active, socializing, and slowly weeding through my massive devwatch that got backed up. Then suddenly just everything got crazy busy and I haven't been able to spend any time here at all. I'm still pretty busy in fact, but trying to get a few things taken care of here and at LJ this morning. Everyone has been so nice and chatty and supportive lately. And I thank you for it. I promise to get caught up with all my comments and faves and journals I have here. It might take me a little bit, but I will get there. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm not ignoring you guys on purpose. Real life just gets in the way of internet stuff sometimes. It can't be helped. Heck, at the moment, I'm listening to roofers banging around above my head. We had two nasty storms damage up our roof a good bit and had to have it replaced.

Anyways, on to other news. I stumbled across a lovely community here at DA that I just had to share. I mean how cool is that! I like monsters... I like maidens... Putting the two together is just awesome. It's just like chocolate and peanut butter. Two good things that go great together! lol. Oh and unless I'm mistaken, not only do they accept original characters/art but also fanart too. So cool! I will go ahead and warn you guys that some of the artwork there IS going to be mature. So if you don't like that sort of stuff, don't bother to look.

Lastly, I just got the sign up sheet for May up at the Wolfxchange community on LJ [link] Sign ups will close on the 5th. So if anyone is interested in joining in the exchange, please feel free to do so. We always love having new people participate. Oh, I even got some surprise gift art there for being a good mod. It was a very kind gesture and it totally made my day too.

Most people know me as a fairly quiet person. One who’s content to sit back and watch. And with that said, I may not be the first to commentate on something, but I am indeed paying attention and watching what goes on around me. And lately I find myself irritated and appalled enough to actually step out the shadows and speak aloud.

So what’s got my goat? The Legacy of Kain fandom. It’s basically crushing it’s self. It’s no wonder so many are walking away from it when they have to deal with some of the idiotic behavior that goes on. There is just no respect for each other. Someone’s always got to come out of the woodwork with a few like-minded drones and yell that we’re doing it wrong. And it doesn’t matter what either. It can be het, yaoi, yuri, self insert, sues, and even just mentioning you like a certain character. Someone, somewhere is going to call you out on it and say your stupid or wrong. It makes no sense. Seriously. What ever happened to having a little fucking respect for one’s peers? Can’t we all just be a little more tolerant and get along? Apparently not at the moment, but don’t you think we should try? Don’t you think things could be a little bit better if one could be a little more mindful and respectful to another's personal preferences or likes? We all like the same games and characters enough to replicate them in a creative form. One would think this would unite us, but it seems certain individuals only seek to divide us.

There came a time when I just wanted to throw my hands up and say to hell with it all. Just turn my back and walk way from the idiots in the fandom. But you know what? No. I’m still going to say the hell with it all, but I’m not going anywhere. If you don’t like it… I’m sorry, but that’s too bad. I’m not going to let others dictate what’s right and what’s wrong with an artist’s/author’s creation. This does not only go with content, but also with style. Everyone has a different level of skill and artistic style they work with. Give them some slack. We are not all clones of each other. We are individuals and not everything is going to match your expectations.

I’m really disappointed to look around and see some of you whom I had a certain level of respect for, as you seemed to be open minded now lower yourself to less than stellar standards. You of course have your own likes and dislikes, but have remained tolerate and opened minded to let others do their thing whether it appeals to you or not. But now to see you choose a ‘side’ and bash a different facet of the fandom that you’re not on is just sad. Truly sad and that respect you had is slipping away very quickly.

I hate to say it, but I think some people need to think for themselves more. Stop allowing yourself to be led. Try to use your best judgment and quit being another sheep in the herd. Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn’t mean you should too. Hell, try to learn a little humility and tolerance while you’re at it too.

The LoK fandom could be a whole lot better if just a little effort is made. Just a little. Not asking of much here. Sometimes a little can go along way. No one’s asking you to like anything. That would go against thinking for yourself now wouldn’t it? However it would be awful nice if we all showed a little tolerance and not go freaking insane as soon as we see something we disagree with. A bit of maturity would go a long way as well.

If you made it this far, you might wonder why I even care so much. First off, it should just be a human standard to agree to disagree. Be mature and tolerant of your fellow person. But LoK has been one of the rare few fandoms that had grasped my adoration and held it for such a lengthy time. I mean the series started over ten years ago. I played back when it was new for pete’s sake. Not to mention looked forward to each and every installment since then. It’s also a rare thing for me to be so social in a fandom. But I do it for LoK because I enjoy the series so much. I guess I’m just tired of watching it all go down the drain and hope it can be improved upon before there’s nothing left.

You see, I kind of sort of blew my allotted gift money on new geckos at the NARBC about a week and half ago. Whoops. But so worth it though. I got an awesome new Gargoyle and Crested gecko. Not to mention a pair of totally cool Satanic Leaftail geckos. I couldn't be happier with them. I must get some pictures posted up soon so I can show them off.

I've decided I wanted to give this art theme challenge thing that I've seen posted around on people's journals a try. But with one major difference... I'm cutting the challenge in half. I know, I know. It's like cheating or something, right? But come on... ME doing a 100 drawings... I don't think so! I haven't even submitted that many deviations the entire time I've been here at DA. So doing 50 seems like a pretty darn reasonable challenge to me. Not to mention they will probably be in color and not just pencil sketches. Though they might end up as sketch quality as I suck with pastel and watercolor. But the point is that I'm attempting to put in some time and effort into these challenges as well as use another medium besides colored pencils and markers. (though of course I'll still be using a lot of pencils, inks, and markers too. )Oh, and on top of doing the challenge, I plan to get some art books and just practice and sketch in general. So, yeah. Lots and lots of drawing and arts for me. Which is a good thing. I've been feeling very much inspired and artsy at the moment, so I might as well take advantage of the inspiration. Wish me luck.

(Note: This is x-posted from my LJ. So if you've read it there, you can stop now. lol. I'm just so enthusiastic that I'm posting it here too )

I'm going on a Zombie Walk! I'm going on a Zombie Walk! *happy dance* Woot!

Yep. That's right. Later in the month there is a Horror convention and on the opening day a Zombie walk is scheduled. So what is a Zombie walk? Well it's pretty much what it sounds like. A bunch of zombies walking around. lol. But for a proper definition, I'll quote the Texas Frightmare Zombiewalk page.

"A Zombie Walk is an organized public gathering of people who dress up as zombies. These events usually take place in a Large City or Town, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping and gnawing their way towards a local cemetery, movie theater, (or in our case convention.)

During the event participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies and to communicate only in a manner consistent with zombies (such as grunts, groans and slurred moans calling for "brains".)"

I am so there! It's gonna be so geeky and fun! lol. I've already decided what kind of zombie I'm going to be. I'm gonna wear some of my old scrubs and a stethoscope and be a nurse/medical personnel zombie. Cause we all know hospitals are like one of the worst places you can go to during an outbreak of undead. I mean it's like zombie central. So anyways, I just need to stop by a costume shop for a little makeup and fake blood. If I had more time I might give an attempt to make a S.T.A.R.S uniform or something to wear... cause that would just be cool! hehe.

However, I won't be attending the con itself because I have a different con that I need to go to. The North American Reptile Breeders Conference (NARBC)is the same weekend. Figures, right? No worries though. In fact I just went to this same con last June. So I'm still content from that. Not to mention I was more impressed with the guest panel and events last time than I am this go round.

I'm having some art woes recently. I was wondering if maybe I could get a few of you to be brutally honest and help nudge me in the direction that I need to work in my art. It's a funny thing really as art has just been a fun little hobby for me. A little something I do for my own enjoyment... and yet I seem to have got a big blow to my ego yesterday.

Here's the deal. I applied to a sketch exchange community and upon reviewing my gallery here at DA, I received a fairly polite reply that stated I needed 'more practice' and will be unable to participate. You know, part of me isn't surprised. I mean heck, I know my art isn't really that good... but I didn't think it was that bad either. I thought it could at least suffice for a SKETCH community. It wasn't like it was for fully finished art or anything.

So despite feeling a little hurt from being denied... I feel a bit resolved to try to improve. But with all the stress life has thrown at me lately, I feel somewhat at a loss on where to begin. I've never had a formal art class in my life, not even in highschool. So any advice or direction that anyone could give to help improve with my art would be much appreciated. You can also note me if you want to give some brutally honest critiques without feeling like your leaving a negative comment or something. Suggestions on anatomy, coloring, or anything is welcome. Tips for technique? Yes please. Book suggestions tutorials are welcomed too. Though I can't buy any books at the moment, as I just got a hideous 3 thousand dollar AC/Heating bill tossed in my lap today, which isn't helping with the emo attitude any. But you know, I can save the book recommendations for later.

Well, it seems I just can't get a break lately. It's one drama or stress after another. I've been down and out the last week and a half. First with a nasty case of bronchitis and then I injured the muscles in my neck, which somehow moved in my shoulder now. I won't get into too much detail. I already got into it all on my Livejournal and would rather not discuss it here. I generally try to keep things more art related and social on this journal. This was just sort of an "yes, I'm still alive" post. I feel generally guilty about not being around more. I see so many great friendships develop around DA and think that's something I'm missing out on. Sure, it used to happen. I've met some great people here, but lately it hasn't been quite so much.

Anyways, I bet it goes without saying that I haven't done anything in the way of art. I had to cancel on a contest I signed up to participate in. There was just no way I was getting it done. But on the perkier side of the spectrum, I did find this adorable little Resident Evil Meme [link] today that simply must be done sooner or later. Should be fun to fill out. You know, someone should definitely make one of these for Legacy of Kain.

Hi everyone! Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas (or whatever you call it) season so far. I haven't been online much or here at DA as much as I would have liked to have been. My message center is sort of overflowing and out of control. Real life is being a bitch again. My car broke down... and it's not a mild problem either. It's totally inoperable and stranded about an hour a way. So aside from that I've been trying to get my gecko business going, as well as getting my little boy set up in a new school. Which as simple as that should be... It hasn't been. Lastly, I've had family from out of state visiting this week. So yeah, kind of crazy.

Anyways, family is leaving tomorrow and schools out for a while so I think I might actually have a little spare time. So since the Wolfxchange didn't happen at LJ, I was wondering if anyone might be interested in doing an art trade. I'd probably only except one or two right now as I don't want to agree to more than I can handle and then make said person wait forever and a day for it. I'd probably either ask for something wolf/werewolfy, or fandom related, (Legacy of Kain or Resident Evil 4) or maybe my Nosgothic Shi as that might be interesting to see in someone else's style. Anyways, if anyone is interested in doing a trade, just send me a note and we can discuss it.

Hi everyone! I'm finally back! Woo! Finally in the new house and FINALLY got my internet back. Unfortunately, I don't have any new art yet. I have just been so insanely busy that I haven't had much spare time for anything let alone drawing. However, I have just now gotten started in sketching something out for the ~lokclan Portrait thing. Looking forward to getting back into art.

As for photos, I have a couple of Leachie pictures I might want to post. I just love that gecko. She's such a monster and she's not even fully grown yet. lol. Oh, and on a random note, I got some new geckos yesterday. An awesome collection including some very very red gargoyles. The new cresties aren't too shabby either. They came from a whole sale lot and it included in insane looking tiger and a super dalmatian easily worth more than double I paid for it.

Oh, and something important I wanted to bring up was the Wolfxchange at LJ. [link] I know I bring it up on occasion but I've made a few new friends and watchers since the last time so I thought I'd bring it up for their benefit. Anyways, it's an art exchange community and I was just trying to spread the word of it's existence as we haven't had many successful exchanges lately due to the lack of people signing up to participate. I think participation declined as there wasn't an 'adoption' procedure in place for those that got stiffed in receiving their art. But I help moderate there now to ensure the community stays running up to speed and no one is left out. It's just a matter of trying to get people to sign up again. So if anyone has some free time before the holidays, please do sign up. Give the gift of art (and receive it too. ) I already signed up. Also, LJ is free, so if you don't have a journal already, go make yourself one and have some fun at the art communities there.

Well, I guess that's all. It might take me some time to get caught up on things around here but dang, it's good to be back.

Not much of interest going on. I'm still under a 'moving soon' status. Things are moving along slower than expected... but I think next week is gonna be the big haul of getting stuff in the new place. So life is still busy and hectic. Yesterday pretty much alternated between cleaning gecko enclosures and packing boxes. I'd probably be doing that again today but I ran out of the blue shop towels I used for the geckos. So just doing some packing today instead. Probably be heading out to the new house tomorrow or the next day or both to do some work there. So yeah, I haven't been around DA much lately due to rl issues and such.

Oh, and I'm also working on taking my gecko hobby into the infancy stage of a business status. I'm mainly doing a lot reading up on what it requires. What permits I need, how to do taxes and all that good stuff. I'm also trying to get a website up and going, but that's going to be a slow process I think, as I have a lot of other stuff going on. I'll let you guys know when I have something together that's moderately worth viewing.

Oh and lastly I so have to do something for the ~lokclan Nosgothic self portrait thingy. All my art stuff is packed away, but as soon as I can I'm going to get this done. It's fun being a Nosgothy vamp.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the Halloween season. I have, but I've also been busy. I'm about to move into a new house soon so I'll probably be away from the computer for periods of time. I've got lots of stuff to do. Everything from packing, moving, cleaning, painting and more. But I'm still quite excited to be moving into a new place. It's gonna be great.

As for art/photography stuff. I want to say thanks for all the kind words and favorites I've received lately. I'm so glad you all like my little geckos as well as other things. I plan on getting caught up with comments as soon as I can. In fact, the only reason I stopped packing this morning and got online was because I ran out of packing tape.

Speaking of packing. I just finished up my last drawing for a while as all the art supplies are about to go into a box until after the move is complete. So no art from me for a while. I will however keep a sketchbook, pencil, and eraser out so I can at least sketch or perhaps plot out something I might want to work on further sometime later.

Okay, Random facts coming up:

1. Despite that my online persona is a white wolf. The animal I feel most connected to is a tiger.

2. I'm pretty scattered brained when it comes to art. I jump around from one style or technique or medium to another, unsure where I should invest my time and focus on. I think the term "Jack of all trades and master of none" rather applies to me.

3. I'm such a loner... but sometimes I wish I had someone to take me under their wing and mentor me. Especially in art. I so want to improve in that aspect.

4. I'm a sucker for fresh flowers. Pity their beauty is short lived.

5. I hatched out 15 gecko babies this year and still have 4 eggs incubating. I'm kind of hoping the females are done laying for the year... but who knows.

6. I absolutely love Halloween. Such a fun freaking holiday. Not to mention so many horror movies to watch.

7. I don't like Prismacolor pencils. Despite how much they are loved by others... they are just not for me.

8. I could never live up north. I have no idea how to drive in snow.

Greetings! I hope everyone has been well. I haven't been around much lately. Just life and stuff interfering with online stuff. I think things might be mellowing out a bit so maybe I can get back into the swing of things. Start being sociable again. I'm so way behind on my devwatch stuff. But anyways. Greetings everyone! Just a quick journal entry to mainly to pimp a Livejournal community. lol. Anyways, I just wanted to say that sign-ups have opened up at LJ's Wolfxchange if anyone is interested in signing up. [link] I plan on signing up myself, I just haven't decided on which wolf character to use yet.

Speaking of which, I've been trying to get a new werewolfy picture done and might be close to having it done by now if I hadn't totally screwed up the inking with a sloppy marker coloring job. Well, I wasn't purposely being fast or sloppy, I just didn't realize I needed to be that careful with watching my lines. Apparently I just learned that dark colors will try to devour my black. Ugh. So anyway, I made a copy of the sketch and totally redid the ink and made it bolder so hopefully it won't be swallowed up by the other colors. So far in the coloring process it seems to be doing well.

Lets see, what else, Oh, and just to let a few of my gecko friends know and anyone else who might be interested, I have some cute little hatching pictures over at my Livejournal. [link] The journal is about half public and half friends only in case you wonder why it's so bare looking. But feel free to add me as a friend there if you wish. I have intentions of trying to update there more often than I have in the past. And yes, I'm on an Resident Evil 4 kick right now as my journal layout clearly shows. Which I just beat the game for the first time today. Woo! Now I just need to do the Ada stuff. Then I'm getting my Chicago Typewriter and kicking everyone's ass!

Hi everyone Just wanted to pop in for a quick update. Got a little bit of good news. I entered a little photo contest over at ~Gecko-Lovers and won third place. Yay me! I get featured in their journal plus they made this cute compilation of images.

Anyway, aside from that, I've been toying with the idea of having a little art contest here. The subject would be based on my wolf/werewolf characters and prizes would most likely be subscriptions. I'm just not sure if there would be enough interest in it. So what do you guys think? Any interest? Think you might want to participate if I did something like that?

Well, I finally did it. I finally put in my resignation and retired from my "staff" duties at the ~Razielim-clan. It's kind of sad really. I mean I've been there since the very beginning. It's been almost 3 years now that I've put time effort and even money into running that community and trying to keep it interesting with summer contests and such. But sadly I just don't feel I can really keep up with the place like I would like to and thusly decided to step down and let others take over. Really I know I should be able to keep up with it... but I just don't need added responsibilities and commitments right now. I'm so over burden irl that I can't even handle too much online stuff right now. Heck, I'm having difficulty keeping up with my own DA page. My watch is out of control and I have quite of few comments I need to reply to. I always love to hear from people here, so I feel bad when I'm unable to reply in a timely manner. Hopefully when I clear up a few things I'll be able to keep up with people and events here better as well as with my LJ too.

Hmm, well, I guess that's all. I hope everyone has been doing alright and I'll try to get caught up on things soon.

Hi everyone. First thing I'd like mention here is that I need some help over at the ~Razielim-clan I'm going through some rough times in RL at the moment and have been highly stressed out. I'm currently trying to minimize what responsibilities I have to online communities because I simply can't keep up with them the way I would like to at the moment. So anyways, I'm just looking for someone who can log into the club and take care of things when I can't. Mainly upload submitted deviations that people send in and update the journal with new members and such. And I'll tell you matter of factly right now... that if you decide to take on 'staff' duties. I expect you to follow through. Don't even bother noting me if your only going to be a good little mod for like a month and then bail on me. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I'm tired of getting left holding the bag. Anyways... if anyone is interested in helping out with the Razzyclan, then just send me a note and we can talk about it.

On an unrelated subject, I am so wishing I didn't sign up for the Wolfxchange at LJ this month. I'm so creativity dead at the moment. No inspiration at all. I can't even think up a nice pose and background for my chosen one's character. Ugh.. If I had the slightest clue life was going to be so hectic I never would have signed up... *sigh* But I did, so I will follow through and get something done. I think it's pretty lousy when some gets stiffed on their half of the art trade and have no intension of doing that to someone.

Greetings everyone. Thought I'd pop in and let people know I'm still alive. I haven't hardly been around DA at all. I don't know what happened exactly, just stress, lack of free time, and maybe a couple of other small factors tossed in the mix. I seem to be finding myself overwhelmed and unable to keep up with internet stuff. In fact I got so frustrated with the lack of time and with the fact that when I did come online, there would just be some stupid bullshit going on somewhere that I just nearly wanted to walk away from it all. But admittingly, I've met some really cool people and would hate to lose total contact with them, not to mention missing out on meeting cool new people, which I did just recently. It seems like whenever I just want to throw up my hands and say to hell with it, someone new will pop up or one of my friends will do something unbelievable sweet/nice and it totally reminds me of why I stay.

I feel rather bad that I let my message center totally run out of control. There's no way I can possible catch up with everything. But I will at least stroll through it all. Don't expect me to comment on everything, but I'll at least have a look. Might take me a bit though.

I so need to go update the ~Razielim-clan as well. I'll try to get to that tomorrow. I so need to get some help running the place. I do everything except set up the yearly contests. (which I don't know if we are going to have this year or not) I'm obviously having a hard time keeping up with it as updates have been a bit slow lately. I've also been debating resigning from my 'staff' duties there. But I don't know, I've been there since the beginning and I hate to just let it go. Not to mention I really am just as much of an LoK fan as always. It's just my poor time management skill and rl issues getting the better of me.

Anyways, I'll try to be more active and catch up on everything. A big thank you goes out to everyone who has been nice enough to watch me and comment recently. You guys are awesome. I hope everyone has been doing okay. Take care.

I figured I was a bit overdue for an update, so here I am. In all honesty, I haven't been around DA much at all lately. Haven't been drawing much lately either. Nothing dramatic going on. Just being busy with the usual hustle and bustle of life.

Though I will have a couple of drawings posted by the end of the month. I did sign up for two exchanges this month so I need to hurry and get those done soon. I need to work on inking one of them tonight. I've taken up inking with a brush. I've only practiced with it a little, but so far I really like it. I'm just totally crossing my fingers that I manage to do a decent job now that it counts and isn't just a practice piece. After that dries I'm gonna finish it off with markers and colored pencils. I really hope it turns out alright.

It's been something of a busy week. It's springbreak and my little boy is home all week so I've been spending a lot of time with him. Going places and doing little fun projects with him. Basically trying to keep him from being bored. This is his first year at school and he loves to go be with other kids and do the activities and all that. So being home is dull in comparison.

So with that said, I haven't worked on any art this week. Well, a little sketching here and there but no colored pencil work. Besides the lack of free time, it's just rather hard to do with my little guy running about. He likes to run off with my pencils... Apparently his pencils aren't good enough.

But, since I'm not making art, I've been thinking about art. A lot. And I'm finding myself feeling somewhat lost and frustrated in regards to it. It's sort of like I know certain aspects I'm lacking. Like with shading for example. I know I need to work on shading and adding more depth to my drawing... but yet it doesn't happen. So why is that? Do I fear color? Do I fear ruining a piece by experimenting with color? A little, I mean it sucks to spend several hours on something just to see you've screwed up badly. I've been pondering over inking as well. Should I ink or stick with just plain pencil? If I do ink... Can I actually learn to do it decently? How many crap pieces am I going to do before that happens? Is it possible to actually find some form of guidance in this? Or will I just be rolling about in limbo for a while until I stumble upon some sort artistic revelation?

Sorry about all the art rambling there. Guess I just needed to vent a little and this is a good enough spot to let it all out. You know, maybe I should get out some of my old comic books and look at works of some of my favorite artists and remind myself of style and subject matter that kindled my desire to try my hand at art in the first place. Not sure what that will accomplish, but it sounds like something good to do anyways.

Oh, and before I go, I guess I'll go ahead and plug a new community that I joined this month. It's Fantasyexchange at LJ [link] It's a brand new community that caters to all sorts of fantasy styled creatures and beings. I signed up with a werewolf for this round, but next time I'm going to do a fire demon. (currently working on sketching him out) Right now, it doesn't have many members yet, so the more the merrier. Just a quick little update. Remember when I said I won runner up in photo contest and won a free gecko? Well, I finally got some pictures up! They are in my scraps. Slick was the actually prize gecko. The contest sponser was uber generous and nice and threw in Socket for free as well. Then she offered me a killer deal on Grog that I simply couldn't resist. So I really made out. I got some great little geckos that are real cuties. I couldn't be happier. I wish I had some better snapshots of them, but I wanted to give them time to settle in before I come at them with the camera again.

Anyways, that's all. Just wanted to share my new geckos babies with everyone since I mentioned them some time ago in a previous journal entry.

Hi Everybody! Guess what?! It's that time a year again! Birthday time! hehe. Yep. My birthday is just a couple days away. I like birthdays. It's great fun getting spoiled for the day. Sadly this year no one's going to be around on the actually day so I'm probably going to woot it up tonight and have a bit of fun today instead.

Hi guys! I'm back. I've been so sick. About a day or two after my last journal update, I officially came down with the flu. Geez, I felt so terrible. Had the whole uncomfortable aching all over thing going on, fever, constant headaches. It really put me out of commission there for a bit. But I'm over it and doing MUCH better now.

Unfortunately, I felt too bad to even sit at the computer or pick up a pencil for that matter, so I'm mega behind in things here at DA, (and other places for that matter) so please be patient as I slowly work my way through messages and such. I need to update the :Razielim-clan: too. I'll get to that as soon as I work through my personal stuff.

I feel bad that I didn't get my contest entry for ~MelinaWOLF done in time to meet the deadline. Oh well, it happens I guess. I'll still finish it. Guess it can be like gift art instead or something. As for now I really need to work my picture for the WolfxChange. I've only got a few more days left to complete it.

Well that's all. I think I'll get off of here and go work on some art. I hope everyone has been doing okay. Take care care.

Just stopping in to make a quick update and let people know what's up with me as I've been pretty quiet for a few days. My message center is already building up to an out of control level. Sheesh, it doesn't take long. Anyways, I've come down with the flu or something as I've been rather ill lately and not even a round of antibiotics seem to be helping. Hopefully, it will pass pretty soon and I'll be feeling better in no time.

As of right now... I don't even feel up to being online in general. I've been focusing what little energy I have on the must do things and responsibilities of real life away from the computer. Even drawing has taken a big hit. I've done a little bit of random sketching for short intervals here and there, but haven't managed to sit down with the colored pencils for larger, more time consuming projects.

Though I will have some things finished soon as they have deadlines. I have a contest entry that I've put in enough effort that I don't want to quit on. Plus, I signed up at the WolfxChange and I'm not about to let my chosen person not get their art. It might take till the very end of the month... but it will get done this month.

You guys remember when I said I entered a gecko photo contest and was all thrilled that one of my pictures made the final cut to the voting round? Well, contest is now over... I won runner up!!! I'm totally completely thrilled. It was actually my picture of Bootsy that won it for me. What did I win? A free gecko. I ended up with a little cutie from Red Harly bloodlines.

Anyways, that's all. I just had to share that cause it totally made my day. I can't wait for the little guy to get here. Got to wait for the weather to warm up a little so it will be safe to ship.

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd pop in for another update. Have any of you all played with the customization feature for the front page of DA? It's kind of cool. If your subscriber you have up to 20 slots to play with. If your not, you still only have the four. But you can change the four. Say you have no interest in seeing whatever prints are posted up there everything day, well then you can change it to a subject you do like. Like maybe you would rather the the newest LoK art featured there. Or maybe your favorite medium instead. It's fun. I've got favorite subjects, genres, and mediums set up in mine. I've found some really awesome artwork because of it. Stuff that I may have never have stumbled across otherwise. Also met some really cool artist's too.

I've been a bit more active around DA lately and I must say, it feels kind of good to be back in the community and socializing. Well somewhat. Sadly a lot of people that used to be around when I first came to DA just aren't around as much as they used to be. But that's okay, we all have lives away from the computer. I understand that very well.

I've also been in a great art mood. I've been sketching or coloring something everyday. I feel uplifted and inspired and it's great change of pace from where I used to be.

Hello everybody! Long time no see. I haven't been around DA much lately and I apologize. I've just been running around and keeping busy as usual. It seems the work never ends. An endless cycle that I can not escape!

Just kidding. Yes, I am busy. And yes, there is a constant supply of things to keep me busy. However I'm not miserably busy. Amazingly, I'm keeping my self afloat. This is my first post of the new year and I must say so far the outlook is good. Maybe I'm finally going to have a change of luck... Maybe this year will actually be better than the last. So far it's looking good.

Though admittingly I'm eager for January to be over. It's certainly not a stagnant feeling month but it just seems February has more things to look forward. Just little things like a commissioned artist finishing some icons for me, a really big reptile breeder expo will be in town that I hope I can attend. Um, Oh and my first fertile crested gecko egg is incubating and hopefully will hatch then too.

Oh, and I thought I'd share a little bit of good news too. I entered a gecko photo contest at the Pangea forums I frequent and one of my photos actually make the final cut. Out of a whole lot of photos (maybe around 200) My Christmas picture of Weevil (which is in my gallery) made into the top 13 (was supposed to be top ten) which the members will vote on. I don't think I'm going to win. There is some serious competition, but I am so thrilled one of my pics made it to the voting round. Even if I don't win, I see it as something of honor just to be in the finals.

Well, I guess that's about all. On a final note, I had to find a new photo hosting site as Boomspeed canceled their freebie accounts. I don't really post enough pictures to make it worth paying for. So I've been hunting around for something reliable. I use photobucket for random photos and such. Currently I'm trying VillagePhotos.com for the banners here on my DA journal page. I'm not too impressed with their freebie account as they said the background picture I use for my LJ was to large to upload. So I put that one up at photobucket without any problems. Oh well, I'll guess I'll just see how it goes.

I managed to survive another Christmas. I'm shocked and amazed. If only I could actually rest now. I feel like I've been in a constant state of busy for like the last 3 weeks. Gah!

On the brightside though, I did get a wonderful set of Pastel Pencils for Christmas as well as some more of my favorite Stonehenge paper that I have been completely out of for a bit. So maybe I'll try to use them in a new drawing sometime soon. I have an urge to draw my werewolfy rp character Selena next. Hope I can translate the idea I have onto paper decently.

As soon as I'm done here I'm off to take care of my poor neglected ~Razielim-clan. I feel bad that I haven't had the time to take care it the way I would like to lately. I've been thinking about that place a lot lately. Wondering if perhaps it's time for me to resign my role as an admin there. It's more about not having time for it. I adore the club and I still love LoK. I'm just as much of fangirl as ever. And it's that fact.. the fact that I still love it, that makes me want to stay and be a part of it. *sigh* I don't know.. something to think about more I guess.

I've been so insanely ill ever since the con. I been able to do little more than sit at the computer and gripe about how bad I feel. Pretty lame, eh?

Actually today is probably the best day so far and I'm still not feeling up to doing much. I've gotten myself so behind in everything. There is always a constant never ending supply of things to do. And taking a few days off to recuperate has backed up my to-do list drastically. Almost depressingly so.

So needless to say I'm going to be playing catch up for a while. And it will probably be awhile before I have time to work on actually completing a drawing. So sadly there won't be much in the way of art coming from me for a while. (I'm kind of relieved I didn't sign up for an exchange this month) However I might have a couple of photos that I'll sneak up into my gallery sooner or later.

I guess that's all for now. I've been having a horrible time trying to catch up with my devwatch and journals. So my appologies for not being more social. I still think of you all and hope you guys are doing alright. Take care of yourselves.

The Texas Wizard World Comicon [link] is this weekend and I'm so debating on if I'm going to go this year. I've been to a couple of them in the past and have really enjoyed them.. but I have to be enticed to go. You know, depending on what artists will be there, what programming is scheduled, what exclusives are going to be available.

This year I'm a bit tempted to go. The most interesting day for me looks like Saturday as I like the programming the best that day. "Horror in Your Art by Tony Castillo" sounds fun to attend. Also right after that is the "Top Cow Panel." Which is supposed to have some Darkness 10th annverisary thing going on. I can't believe it's been 10 years already. I think i started reading Darkness around their 6th issue or so. Hm.. a lot of comics.

So will I go? Well, it's debatable. I'm just not sure how things are going to be Saturday. I just might not be able to get away. I suppose it's no big loss if I can't. No one I'm particularly excited to meet. Well, what I mean is that I've met a lot of my favorite artists at previous cons. No really kick ass exclusives that I must have either. (that are advertised anyways) This one year. I just had to go to get this Darkness print. It's got the Angelus riding a chained Jackie. Yum. I got #10 out of 40. Yep. Very limited and I got it signed by Marc Silvestri too.

Anyways, I guess that's all. I haven't really been able to do much. I've been really busy, plus I've had a very sick little boy to take care of lately. He's finally starting to feel a little better today.. but not much. Anyways, If I go to the con. I will of course give an update on how it went. And if not, oh well, just more of the same old grind I guess.

Not much of a update this time. Basically just popping in to wish everyone a happy Halloween.

Been watching a ton of halloween movies the last few days. Taking advantage of of the constant showing of them. Everything from the average slasher flick to the classics from the 1930's Though I got to admit.. I don't think I can tolerate seeing another Micheal Myers movie.. Gah, AMC must be showing one or more of those Halloween movies like daily.

I'm uncertain what my next art project will be at the moment. I know I got a lot listed below, but some are intended to be done with pastels, and I'm not wanting to deal with pastels right now. Guess it will just be whatever random inspiration permits. I haven't decided if I want to do the next wolfxchange or not yet either.

Not too much going on. I wanted to do another drawing on black paper, but then I realized I'm out.. all I have is some small scrap pieces left. Nothing suitable for a full sized drawing. Eh, maybe I'll play around with making a little ID or something like that.

Never really got around to doing the halloween picture I wanted and I decided not to do the wolf Xchange this month too. The theme didn't appeal to me and there were some wierd requests, so I thought I'd save myself some stress and effort and just not sign up for this round.

Oh, but I did find a lovely new community at LJ It's Were_exchange. Yay for were creatures! *howls* Sounds kind of fun to me, but I can't really sign up until I get a decent refference picture. I'll probably go with my werewolfy character Selena.. but I don't like the current picture of her.. my vision of her has sort of changed since then.. only slightly, but still.

Aside from that, nothing of too much interest going on. typical life with all the typical drama and stresses. I have been enjoying all the halloween horror movies that some channels have on like nearly nonstop. I think AMC is playing them constantly till halloween. I'm impressed. Scifi is nearly doing the same thing.. but not quite as around the clock as the other channel.

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and gets to enjoy this last week of Halloween. I know I'm going to try to. Take care everyone.

I figured it was time to update this journal. Not much going on really. I've been sick with the most aweful cold that's left me totally exhuasted. My poor devwatch has grown out of control again.. I so need to go through it.. I'm probably missing out on some really great artwork.

I finished two drawings.. Yay! I still need to post up the second one. I'm already feeling the Halloween spirit and I'm rather enthused to work on a halloween picture or two this month. One will probably be for the Oct. Wolf xchange at Livejournal. The other... Hmm... subject still debatable.


In other news. I got some new geckos! Hehe, Yeah, I probably shouldn't have, I think I'm starting to run out of room. but I managed to get a great deal on a few awesome little crested geckos, so I couldn't resist. I got two females and one male. I already had another smaller male. This spring I'll probably pair them up and cross fingers for a happy, productive, breeding season. For now I'm letting the females cool off and get used to their new home over the winter months.

Oh, and on a related note, I added a new club to the list below. ~Gecko-Lovers Now I have somewhere to put all my cute gecko pictures.

Just popping in for a quick update then I'm going to take a look at my Devwatch. I haven't been at DA for like a week or two so I got quite a few journals and deviations to look at. Heck, I doubt I'll get done with it all today. So over the next couple of days I should get caught up. I need to do the same thing over at LJ too. I'm always falling behind in everything.. It's rather annoying.

Anyways, still working on my new ID.. though I might change my mind and not make it an ID afterall and just submit it as a random picture. I'm not really sure yet. It's been coming allong well.. I hate coloring moons though.. I just suck at it for some reason and get frustrated. I hope it turns out okay. Though it is taking longer than expected as I have a habit of doing layers and layers and layers of color pencil.. Especially when I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing and don't want to lay down any one color too heavily at first.

I signed up for the September Wolf Xchange over at LJ. Woot! I'm kind of enthused to be working on someone elses wolfy character. It's nice to do something a little different. I also can't wait to see what the drawing I get in return will be like. I just love seeing my character drawn up in another's artist's style.

*looks at the time* Anyways, I gotta run and take care of some errands.. So I guess looking through my devwatch will have to wait until after I get back.

I'm still all enthused and perky about getting some art done. Easier said than done as it seems like everytime I get some free time to myself I'm busy taking care of something else.

I've spent the last two nights reupholstering some old chairs. Not too hard to do but a bit time consuming. Though I did feel rather acomplished to get that done. They turned out fairly decent looking too. So I'm happy with that.

Whenever I go to the fabric store, I so just want to buy all this stuff and go all creative. Bad thing is I have VERY limited sewing skills. lol. But on occassion I seem to be able to make a simple design alright. I saw this material that would be so awesome for a skirt. Also, they had just started to get some halloween fabrics in and all the cool prints and styles always makes me want to make something or another for halloween.

Oh, while I was there getting what I needed to fix up those chairs, I saw the coolest fabric for curtains. It was like red with these swirly designs and when you look at it from an angle it turns black except for the swirlys that stay red. Red is like one of my top favorite colors. I love red. Anyways, despite how cool my first impressions were of it.. I don't think the room I would put those in can quite support something that... bold.. Part of me nearly thinks it's verging on gaudy and looking like something one might find in a bordello or something. lol

Also while I was there I also thought how cool it would be to make some sort of LoK related banner. You know, cause I'm just such a hopeless fangirl of the series and all. Anyways, I've seen the one in ~Fera-Feueragian gallery and would love to make something like that. Gah, but I just know I'd never get the clan symbol to be so perfect. I wonder how the heck she did that. Maybe I can pester the technique out of her. lol. I'd probably do Kain's clan symbol as I have like two Kain posters framed up that would accent it quite well. hehe. Weee! more red to make those perky red curtains work! lol.

Anyways, I'm going to shut up about all my wannabe cloth/sewing endevours and see if I can finish sketching up that ID of mine.

Well, not a whole lot to talk about this time around. August has been such a blah month. I can't wait for it to be over. Nothing too terribly bad has happened. Sure it's had it's stressing issues at one point or another but for the most part it feels very stagnant. Which in a way is sort of strange as things are in the process of change. The gears and cogs are turning.. it's just that nothing has happened yet. I think I'm just desperate for a change of pace. Eager for the hope that things will get better and crossing my fingers that all this anticipation isn't for naught.

Lately I find my self longing to get back into art. I'm feeling inspired and perky towards it lately and really have the desire to work towards getting better and trying to commit the time to do so. Finding free time for art is hard these days but I'm really going to try. However at the same time I just feel like I'm lacking something. It's a social something I believe. I don't know a single person where I live who is also interested in art. No one to work with or share tips on traditional media or simply to help inspire each other to keep at it and not give up when stress gets the better of us or we just have a serious case of art block. I don't even know who to look towards for such companionship online. Everyone seems so busy with their own lives. Who has time to encourage and guide a noob? As much as I admire some artists and their technique, I just can't bring myself to pester them online. I think I already know in advance that rejection will be the outcome as I'm sure they get sick of people doing that to them as it is. As I joked with someone earlier in the week, maybe I just need someone to poke with with a stick every so often and tell me to get back to work on that drawing. lol. Hm, I don't know, maybe I'm just lonely.

In other art related lated news, I'm working on a new ID. Still sketching it out. It will have an ouroboros, a moon, and a white werewolf. Er.. Or at least that's the plan anyways. lol. Also I think I'm going to commit to the wolf xchange over at Livejournal for the Sept and Oct exchanges. Should be fun. Great practice and it's always great to see my character done in someone elses style.

Anyways, I guess that about sums things up for now. I hope that didn't sound to ranty or whiny. Didn't mean for it to be, in fact I'm in a rather good mood tonight. Though I've been thinking about art so much lately that I just wanted to express my current thoughts and feelings on the subject.

Wow. I can't believe it's been so long since I've updated my journal. I know I don't update constantly, but I don't think I've ever gone this long without doing one before.

I feel rather bad for not keeping up with DA the way I used to. Things have been so insanely hectic and for the most part keep going wrong that I have been direly stressing out. Yeah, rough times, but as they say, "Survive, adapt, and overcome" and that's exactly what I'm doing. It's not easy, but what choice does one have if they're not quite willing to roll over and die yet?

I haven't moved into a new house yet. Things are just not going to work out for that to happen right now due to reasons I'm not willing to discuss on a public journal. Maybe late this fall things will be in order and we can see about moving again, but for now it's just going to have to wait.

With that said all my art supplies are still packed away in a box, so I haven't done any new art in a long while aside from a few rough sketches of this and that. Usually either wolf or LoK related. lol. However, I've had some real art cravings lately and think I might just have to break into that box and a least get some colored pencils out of there. But we'll see. Maybe this is a good time for me to work on sketching more. Something I need to do more often anyways.

Well, I guess that's all. I really just wanted to let everyone know that I really am still alive and hopefully I'll start being a bit more active around here than I have been lately.

Hey everyone. I just thought I'd pop in and update what's been going on and why I have been so nonexistant around here lately. It's pretty much all due to moving. I've been trying so hard to get this house ready to sell and have already started packing some things up. On that note, all my art supplies are gone. Packed in a box, not scheduled to emerge until we have acquired our new home and start settling in.

Argh, I can't wait to get out of here. I feel like I'm stuck in some sort of limbo and can't progress until we get out of here. The worse part is that it's a stressful limbo and I just want to get out and go. Settle into a new place and start over and move on.

So anyways, as I was saying, art supplies are all gone, so no knew art from me and I simply won't be able to participate in any contests or exchanges for a while. Which is a real bummer. Also, with all that I have going on, don't be surprised if you don't see me around much. It's just been difficult to get online and look around DA when I've got so much to deal with. Hopefully, with some luck things will get into motion and I'll be back in full swing sooner rather than later.

Watching: Masters of Horror - Homecoming

I haven't had much time or much mood for art lately. I did attempt to do the Snarly Werewolf Portrait that I have listed below. I discovered while doing this that either Canson pastel paper is a poor choice for the results I want, or I just really suck at pastels. lol. But seriously, it's probably a combination of them both. However, I won't let myself get too discourged and have already resketched the image on some Art Spectrum paper that has a sanded like tecture. I'll have to cross my fingers that I'll have better luck with my second attempt.

I've still been really busy with all this house stuff. Stressfully so as there is just so much that needs to be done. So don't be surprised if you don't see me around as much. I might update this journal or comment here and there, but I'll probably be a little quiet for a bit.

And on a last and random note, those of you who already read my livejournal are well aware that I'm on a gecko obsession. lol. Sounds silly, I know. But I've always loved reptiles and have had a few different species over the years, but I haven't had any in a while so I decided to get a leopard gecko as they tend to be rather mellow. I was keeping my little boy in mind when researching what to get.. I wanted something mellow that rarely bites so he'd be able to handle it too. Anyways, I loved the little guy so much I got a second one and today I've added a gargoyle gecko to the group. (not in the same tank of course) They are all just so cute! I might have to put a few pictures of them in my scraps gallery sometime.

Not much art news lately. I actually finished a picture. *shock* Now I'm starting on another in my projects and ideas list. *double shock* I'm going to try to do this next one in pastels. I don't have much practice with pastels so I hope it turns out somewhat decent looking. Guess I'll find out soon.

I'm guessing my chosen one for the March WolfXChange didn't care for the picture I did as she hasn't said anything about it. Oh well, I did make an effort to follow what she wanted and it was a bit hard to get the fur into a burgandy color as oddly enough, with a set of 120 pencils, I didn't have a single pencil that was that color and had to do some blending to try to achieve it. Anyways, I'm debating on if I want to sign up for April's xchange. I think it's fun and makes for some great practice. Plus it's always neat to see how others draw my own characters and to see them in a different drawing style than my own.

EDIT: Okay, I was wrong. My chosen one really did like her picture, she just missed it when I posted it up. Now I feel kind of like an idiot for implying she didn't like it. I guess that's what I get for jumping to conclusions and voicing my feelings too soon. A perfect example of why I usually just keep my mouth shut half the time. But it does lift my mood to know that she really did like it. *has been having kind of a bad day* I know I'm not that great of an artist so therefore it's not a really great of a picture, but it is nice to know that the time I spent making it was appreciated. Okay. Going to shut up now so I can go work on some art.

In other news, I've been insanely busy. I've been doing massive spring cleaning and reorganizing. Basically I'm trying to get this house prettied up so we can sell it. That's right, we're moving out! I'm not even entirely sure where yet, but we've pretty much made up our mind that we will be going back to Florida. So if you don't see me online much, it's because I'm busting my butt cleaning or doing some sort of renovation during the day and working on art at night.

Okay this update is mainly because I just had to share this LoK video I found yesterday. It's like a Raziel Tribute thingy and it's really cool. To me, the music seems a bit oddly perky for Raz, but I suppose it's fitting. Anyways, here's the link but be warned, massive spoilers if you haven't played Defiance yet. [link]

After watching that, I now have a craving to play some LoK games again. Not going to happen anytime soon. Been to busy or distracted lately to manage time for any quality gaming. Yeah, it sucks. I could really go for another round of Defiance. I might just have to find away to squeeze that in.

As far as the current projects go, I never did get to do a picture for the LoKClan grouppic. It turns out the due date was not what I thought it was. I was a little bummed cause the same day i found out it was over, I so had an idea for how I wanted to do it. Oh well, I'll just have to save that idea for next time.

Working on making a plushie is far much more work than I anticipated. It's hard darn it. I don't know how much material I wasted cause I miscalulated the size of the cuts I need. I'm still trying to put this thing together, but it may just very well be a lost cause. But I haven't given up just yet so who knows, maybe I'll be pleasently surprised with the end results.

Well, I must say, I am definitely feeling better than I did before. I think life is still hectic and disorganized, but perhaps I'm just dealing with it better than before. Also I think I've gotten out of my art slump. I feel inspired, enthused, and creative lately.

I signed up for my very first art exchange over at Livejournal. I got my choosen one yesterday and I'm pretty enthused about drawing something up for her. I just hope it turns out okay and that she likes it. I still need to draw up a picture for LoK Grouppic. I wasn't going to do one this year, but since they extended the date to the end of March, I think I'm going to make an effort to get it drawn up in time. Though I admit I'm a little undecided on what to do for it.. I don't want to draw the same exact thing as last time.

Oh, I'm going to make an effort to try to make my own plushie for The Great Plushie Contest DA is having. I'm a little worried that the end result of my so called plushie making will be scary.. and not in a good way either. Sewing and making stuffed animals is definitely something I don't have a lot of experience with. But, regardless, I still thought it sounded like a fun creative project. So I had to give it a try. I believe I already picked up everything I need for it. So I guess it's just a matter of me sitting down and getting started on it. Wish me luck!

I can't say there's been anything particularly interesting going on lately. I'm still in my major art slump crisis. It will pass, I know it will, but it's still disheartening none the less. I have had a majorly hard time keeping up with things online lately. I haven't been around Deviantart or my Livejournal all that much lately. I shall try really hard to rectify that situation too. So don't give up on me yet you guys. I'm trying.

I'm not trying to sound whiny or anything, but I basically just want to let people know I'm still alive and I am going to make an attempt to be around more often. Life has just been too hectic lately. I keep reminding myself that will pass in time as well and one of these days I will actually be organized and functioning effciciently.

I have good feeling that maybe things are starting to look up. Perhaps soon I'll actually have something to submit here.

This year is off to a rough start as far as art goes. I've been in a major creative slump lately. It's really bothering me. I usually have quite the creative drive. Wanting to just jump on in some project or another and run with it and I don't just mean with drawing. But there's just no enthusiasm for it right now. I can't even bring myself to do little sketches lately... It sucks, I so got to push myself past this slump I seems stuck in at the moment.

Oh, I changed my little avatar icon thingy. Gee, I can't believe I've actually done that. I've used the same old icon since I signed up here at DA. So it's kind of a monumental moment. The end of an era. lol. Just kidding you guys.


Anyways, the icon is from the new Underworld movie that's coming out. So it's unoriginal and all, but I don't care. I thought it was a cool looking werewolf and felt like I needed a change here. Don't know how long I'll keep it and might just change it back as it was eventually. I really need to be creative and make my own avatar sometime out of some of my own art. Don't know when that will happen though, considering the rate I've been going lately.

Well, I think that's about it for this quick little update. I think I'm going to try to make myself work on that coloring contest I have listed below. I don't have much time left to finish that up.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas holiday. I know I did. I finally got the Faber-Castell pencils that I've been eagerly waiting to get my hands on. So I'm quite happy about that. Now hopefully I'll be ready to get some more pencil art done as I will now have a nice variety of colors to choose from. That set of twenty-four just wasn't cutting it. It didn't even have any purples in it.

Anyways, aside from the pencils I also got a neat little Bienfang NoteSketch book. It's like, well, what the name implies, half sketchbook and half notebook. The top of each page is blank for sketching and the bottom portion is lined like notebook paper. It's kind of neat. I could totally see it making a good sketch diary. It has enough room to jot down a bit about one's day and also ample space for a quick illustration.

My little list of current projects and ideas grew again. I decided to go ahead and add some contests and the like to it. I'm not sure if I intend to enter all of them, but I listed them anyways and added the due dates for a reminder to get in gear and get this stuff done before it's too late. I just wish the due dates weren't so close together. Oh well, They'll get done or they won't. Either way, I still need to finish up that darn zippo lighter picture. I'm not having very good luck with it so far.

Oh, and before I go, I want to wish everyone a really happy New Years. I hope the coming year will be full of good fortune for you all.

Well well... I still haven't gotten caught up on things around here at DA. My message center is rapidly growing out of control. Boy, everyone sure has been productive lately.

I haven't been able to get online much since my last journal post. Yesterday the power went out for most of the morning which sucked cause it was all cold and snowy out. Then when it finally came back on, my internet connection was screwed and I couldn't get online at all until today.

I messed around and made a pretty header thing for this journal. Well, ~Aerin-Kayne actually made it. I just resized it and put some words on the tombstone. "Here Lies Shiwolf" eh.. that probably sounds a little lame, but in all honestly I couldn't think of anything else to put there at the moment. But hey, I'm usually just lounging about anyways, so in a way it's fitting. I hope it looks okay.

Hello everyone. Just popping in to let everyone know I'm still alive. I've been really quiet around here lately. Not really by choice, just been keeping super busy. Mostly with all this upcoming holiday stuff. Finally got myself a tree and decorated it all up. I've also been out and about trying to get some shopping done and out the way before the Holiday season and it's shopping crowds become unbearable.

I got a lot of catching up to do around here at DA, but I'll try to make my way through my overflowing message center soon so I can see everyone's deviations and journals.

In other news, I must say I'm excited to see how this zombie card game that is being created over at ~AAH-Zombie-Game is going to shape up. It's basically being created by people willing to donate art for the cards. I don't think I'd be all that good at drawing zombies so I'm probably going to stick to doing some of the item cards. I'm getting started on a "Zippo Lighter" image for it. Going to be using my pastels. I'm so hoping it turns out well. So anyways, I recommend anyone who likes zombies to go and check it out.

2: The "wolf" part is simply because I like wolves/werewolves and I thought they would sound good together.
3: Um, that's really about it... though just to put something here, I guess I can say that when I invision a death wolf, I imagine a white one. So that's more or less what and why I choose to use a white wolf as my online persona.

You know, I actually haven't been in all that much of a halloween mood this year. I almost find the idea rather shocking. This must be my most unenthused year ever. I wonder what the heck is wrong with me. I'm always perky and upbeat at the end of this month. Ah well, with that said, I guess it should come as no surprise that I didn't get anything Halloweenish drawn and done this time around. I was working on a little something for the contest over at ~loups-garoux. It's sort a design your own werewolf thing. While I thought I had a neat idea for it, it didn't turn out very neat at all... I think I'll still finish and color it just for practice, but it will be doubtful if it will ever be shown here.

I've been thinking a lot about art lately. It's really just a hobby for me. Just something that I enjoy, but even so, I still wish I were better at it. I think I'm going to make a serious attempt to improve. I have concluded that my sketchbook shall be my friend. We shall bond and keep close company. It shall be ever handy should the urge to draw/sketch/doodle arise.

However, I should probably state that I have no idea what I'm doing. lol. What I mean is I have no idea when I will be posting something here. I don't know if I'll be posting some of my pitiful little sketchbook drawings in my Scraps section or not. I might if I like one or if the mood strikes me and maybe just to let people know I'm still alive around here. I still very much would like to do what I have listed below in my projects and ideas section. I'm still fond of the ideas and would very much like to do these, but I don't know when I'll get to them. I guess to be perfectly honest, I think my artwork is crap so why bother to do these things when I know they are going to turn out awful. I suppose I'll do them when the mood and inspiration strikes, otherwise I will be bonding with my sketchbook trying to see if I can improve my drawing skills a bit.

On a final note, my appologies to all my friends here. I'm so sorry I haven't been commenting lately. I've been keeping rather busy and haven't had much of a chance to look through my devwatch. I adore you all and I'll try to stop by and visit every one soon.

I was glancing through the DA: Art Scene forum when I saw this post for artistic pen pals. [link]

I instantly thought, whoa... cool! It sounded like a neat and fun idea to interact with someone on a more personal, thoughtful level than simply leaving little comments online. I also thought it would inspiring and motivating too.
