Things are swell. I've decided that as long as I have something to look forward to, I'm happier. Now that the clinic I work at has successfully moved to a new building in another county, you'd think I have less to do. But because I'm "boss" I have to do exciting things like annual performance reviews. Hooray! And worry about how to schedule 5,000 children for the swine flu vaccine. SCREW YOU, swine flu. Screw you. In the FACE. Mmm. Bacon.

Since , my partner in Miggs & MoMo-style crime, moved to PA last week, I promised her a few things. 1) I would actually go on my computer in a consistent fashion, 2) stay updated on Facebook, 3) alert her immediately (before-I-tell-my-parents immediately) when I become preggers, and *most* importantly, 4) POST MORE ON dA.

ShockWave = my favorite roller coaster of all-time (may you rest in peace); 7 and 42 = some of my (many) favorite numbers. 42 became a favorite number when I rode ShockWave that many times in one day.

03.] Do you use PC or Mac?
Both, but mine's a Mac.

04.] What programs do you use most often?
Firefox, iTunes, and now GarageBand.

05.] Do you use mouse, or tablet?
Mouse, but I'd really like a tablet in the future. Outlining in Photoshop while using a touch pad mouse = frustration.

06.] What color or color combinations do you find yourself using most often?
I tend to like reds and browns for hair, and of course I like blue... my favorite would have to be using multiple shades of gray and adding an accent. Like blue. XD

07.] What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
Usually the face? If it doesn't look like who I want it to be, then I probably won't want to finish it.

08.] How long does it take you do draw a picture?
WAY. TOO. LONG. XD

09.] How long does it take you to write something?
Depends on what I'm writing. If it's lyrics, things sometimes just tumble out and wind up fitting.

Yep.

Ehh... I was a loser who never really did rough drafts. I tended to keep changing things as I went.

Hm. I forget what it's called, but whatever is in my work email signature. It's fun.

Heh, whatever it's set on. Which means I have no idea.

14.] Do you do anything else when you're drawing/writing?
Snack, have the TV or music on quiet in the background, sometimes I need complete silence.

15.] Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
Not many, obviously! Maybe in the 1-3 range, and that's pushing it.

16.] What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Sketchbook or computer paper.

17.] What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
Same.

18.] How long does it take you to ink something?
Oooh, I love inking... just a face would probably take 10-15"; an entire body, 15-20"?

Miggs & MoMo SO counts.

They ARE fun to make! I have a ton of ideas for comics. I don't read a ton, though.

Sure have!

Yes--Sports Illustrated for Kids, baby. A picture of a basketball player. Funny story: My now-hubby owned the issue that the picture was in! We were only 11 or 12 at the time, and obviously we didn't know each other yet, but still. It was fun to find while cleaning out his room a few years ago before we moved in together.

23.] Who are your favorite artists?
Jedi, Phen, Kari, Vieve, IV, etc.

24.] Do you like anime/manga? If so, what are your favorite series?
I do like anime/manga, but I'm not so much in the know. The only series I've read was Death Note and I LOVED it. I'd love to read more, but it takes me 512 years to read anything. ;D

25.] Do you like cartoons/comics? If so, what are your favorite series?
Sure--my favorite comic would have to be Zits, favorite cartoons would have to be Daria, TMNT (old-school style), and would Family Guy count? Oooh, Watchmen. WATCHMEN. Read it. And then drool over how well the movie followed the book... except for the end, hehe.

Dudes. Sorry for the massive comment-dump that occurred sometime within the last few weeks. That's what happens when I finally get motivated for 2 consecutive hours. As you might be able to guess, 2 consecutive hours of my time is hard to find. Sometimes. Maybe. Hah. I'm sleepy and nonsensical. <--I wasn't even sure that was a word, but I'm thrilled that it is.

Yep, so I've been busy with, oh, those little things in life like buying a house and getting a promotion. And... well, that's enough for now, I think. ;D

I've set up one of the rooms in my house as an office / art / music room. And guess what? I haven't drawn in it yet. I need to actually organize the art supplies, I suppose. All artworkings have been done in the living room on the couch, as usual. Maybe I shouldn't break old traditions.

Jedi's Anime/Manga II class begins Friday; therefore, I hope to be posting a few good pieces. I still should probably post some sketchies from the last class(es) I attended, but they'll probably be scrapped eventually since they're mostly unfinished. So it's not that I haven't been drawing, honest!

Grr. Stupid musical indecisiveness! <--Wow, another word I'm surprised I spelled right, being sleep-deprived and all. Good music usually = good artistic motivation. Maybe it's time to put iTunes on random. OR... maybe it's time for bed! I'm on the verge of rambling anyhow.

What is with me. I haven't posted anything in over HALF A YEAR. It's not that I haven't artworked--just ask Jedi who's hanging in her room--but the things I have done are random paintings and other things that either I a) won't post or b) don't feel like posting. Thankfully, I should be getting into a better drawing rhythm. Soon. See, I drew a lot (or at least a lot more) when I took Jedi's Anime/Manga class (which ROCKED, btw), and OH! I guess I do have things to post! I created an OC, sorta, more or less for class, but I may just elaborate on him. Now that I have some ideas and finally learned how to draw a *smidge* faster than in the past, I hope to post more frequently. OH! And on a small, teensy side note... Matt and I bought a house! Therefore, I hope to have both some time off and a new place for motivation. Hooray!

I'm thinking of making April my high-inspiration month for artworks. I'm dubbing April "Heroes Month" and plan to do a string of drawings relating to my "heroes." This ought to be interesting. I'm pumped.

Of course, there's still that list of ideas... who knows what kind of order I'll follow, but it will all tie in eventually. I'm confident I'll actually be chipping away at the list soon. Be on the lookout!

Sorry again for not paying attention to your artworks--I've seen amazing stuffs but haven't commented on anything for ages. Please don't take offense... this should be nothing new coming from me anyway Yay for still being a procrastinator!

I finally found that one piece of paper shoved in one of my nearly-empty sketchbooks titled "Updated Drawing Idea List: 04-05-08." Yeah. About that. Apparently it needs to be updated at least once more before the end of the year. Here goes. Oh! And there are a bunch of ideas that I know I'm never going to draw--I either lack the skill to bring them to life or I've become uninterested in the subject matter--so I'll throw them out there should anyone who is interested stumble across my lonely page and want to put them onto paper.

Yes, I am aware that there are two different things with "dashboard" in the title. Yes, I am aware that there are are at least 3 House-isms used for titles... those may or may not involve one or more House characters.

I'm kind of over my urge to draw Transformers stuffs. One or two no-so-intricate works might sneak their way into my gallery; I just can't see myself doing a good job with anything mecha. Not my forte. But in case anyone is curious, I'll post my random ideas. By all means, if someone has the genius and/or the ability and wants to draw them, I'd be thrilled: (1) Remember the Mountain Dew vending machine that turned Decepticon? The Dewcepticon? I would love to see that thing start flinging cans of Dew at Bumblebee. Being a hero, Bee would catch them, crack them open, and hand one to me. (2) Since Jedi and I love to travel, I envisioned a comic strip with us sitting in the backseat of a car having a conversation along the lines of "Gas prices are too high." "Flying is too expensive." "The train takes forever." In the last frame, you finally see the "beeotch" air freshener and a disco ball hanging from the rearview--"This could work" would be the last line. Yeah, I'm a nerd. (3) Bumblebee, in car-form, in the last scene of the movie with Sam and what's-her-face making out on his windshield: All of a sudden he flips the windshield wipers on and flings them both off. I would've clapped if that happened in the movie. Prime and Hide would be in the background snickering and saying "awkwaaaard!" (4) OK. Everyone knows the part where Ironhide jumps to dodge a missle or something and blasts off in slow-mo and creates that orgasmic shockwave (no pun intended), right? I'd love to see someone take a screenshot of that, slap a suit and tie on him, give him a briefcase, and have him saying, "Bye, kids! Have a good day at school!" and call it "A Day in the Life of an Autobot." What. (5) Last one, I promise: Could someone *please* draw Prime and Bee attempting to board a roller coaster? I mean, those lap bars would so not click securely for their safety.

Well then. Sorry for that rant. That's about it for now.

I might have had my last day at one of my jobs today... but I'm not sure. That probably sounded strange to just about everyone, but it's the truth. I have no idea what's going on with my home nursing job right now, but I was quitting this month anyway. All I have to say is thank gosh I have another full-time job or I'd be screwed financially. Hooray for me finally having JUST ONE job! There will be no more excuses--I'll have nothing better to do than draw, right?

Just in case there's not an emoticon for it, I'll tell you now: I'm giddy.

DeviantArt and I had a little falling out over the past 6-8 months. There is no excuse (and usually never is). Therefore:

I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY sorry that I haven't paid much a single iota (wow... that's really a word?) to anyone's artwork or personal lives. Not that I know many dA peeps personally, but I used to read journals, I swear! Anywho, everyone has done a fine job. I glanced through some of the 600+ deviations and noticed substantial improvement from just about everyone--you all impress me with your mad skills. Sorry again for not commenting on ANYTHING... it's my own fault, but going through that much stuff is just a tad overwhelming. I'm going to start from a clean slate. Therefore:

Jedi is "requiring" me to keep up with dA and journaling maybe every Tuesday, which is officially Drawing Night. This in turn will also help me to, um, actually draw something. If I don't, I'm sure the penalty will be severe, i.e. my Wii privileges may be taken away or I'll be threatened with the deletion of a week's worth of DVR'd House. And we wouldn't want that.

I think that's about it. Soon enough I will only have ONE job instead of 512. Yay! I'll have my weekends back.

So. Just in case I don't write sooner, Merry Christmas. But don't worry, I'm sure there'll be at least one more journal and/or *gasp* post before then... the thought of not playing Super Mario Brothers 1 or 3 scares me.

My ear hurts and I think it's bleeding. Not because it's infected or I've burst an ear drum, I just had one of those pesky ear zits and accidentally popped it. Seriously! It itched, so I itched, and then there was some pain. I'm sure you needed to know that.

I have lots to draw and update about. But the non-art related stuff will (mostly) go into my LiveJournal, so take a gander if you please.

Hmm. I have to be to work in 6 hours. I suppose sleep might not be a bad idea. But in all honesty, it's overrated. That's already been proven.

My cats all have colds. Lyle started it, now Trinity (the littlest of the 3 cats) has it and has been sneezing like a... sick cat? I have no clue. But the sneezes she produces sound like they should be coming from something other than a barely 9-pound, nothing-ounce kitten. Gotta love it. Thank goodness Matt's tummy is feeling better and healed--the cats actually get to sleep with us (meaning on top of me... yes, all 3) again.

So much for keeping non-art related subjects in my LJ. 0

I have some wicked-sweet ideas for art projects. And I've been productive--I've noticed that somehow I am more so when I am sick which makes no sense--so I feel as if I'm getting somewhere. Several things were crossed off my to-do list today. Hoo-rah!

To start... the subject of this entry would make much more sense (and might even be cheesy) if my name were - you know, "Return of the Jedi?" Ha...hah? No? That's okay. Although it would be sweet if ShockWave, the roller coaster to which my dA name is dedicated, would make a return. However, I think it's near impossible once you've been scrapped and melted or whatever they do to roller coasters... *sniffle* Oh Lord, here I go getting all emotional again.

Hey! How is everyone? I'm back! As if more than 3 people care. In all seriousness, I hope all is well. I got up extremely early (5-something) to go ice fishing today. Had I known we were going in the AM, I would've gone to bed before 2. Don't worry--despite the 52 degree record-high temperature today, there was enough ice and I did not fall in. Yet.

Thanks to , I was informed of the Transformers Score FINALLY being released! There was talk that it never would, so as we speak I'm downloading the entire thing on iTunes. Thank goodness for Christmas and asking for iTunes giftcards! Even though my Transformers obsession has subsided, the music is AMAZING. I may or may not want to wake up to this every morning. If I had a CD player alarm clock... so maybe not.

What? I seriously don't own a pair of headphones? I can't even find my ear buds?! Oh well. Matt's probably wondering (in his sleep) what all the fanfare is about. Hehehe.

Art work! I posted something the other day! I'm happy with it. I have a love for Prismacolor markers. I still don't have them "down" but I'm working on it.

Speaking of, one of my New Year's resolutions is to post something every week. So far, so good! At the end of this journal I will post an updated list of things I'm working on / will be working on shortly.

1) I got through over 300 deviations today because I renewed my dA subscription. Yet another motivator for me to draw more: Do not let dA subscription go to waste! FYI: I said I got through 300+ deviations. I haven't commented yet on ANYTHING, and I have exactly 100 deviations that I will most likely be commenting on. So if you haven't received a comment yet, expect to in the next few days! Sorry in advance for the barrage of comments.

2) I missed my 1,000 pageview (thanks, all! I'm almost at 1,500--whoo!) AND my 1-year anniversary on dA and therefore did not post anything fun about it. Sorry. I suck.

3) reached the same milestone of 1,000 pageviews, too... but in a 2-month span. I really suck!

Soooooo... yeah. Took a long nap today but was all set to go to bed at 7-something tonight. Then I drank a Mountain Dew and it perked me up. I wanted to be productive so I renewed my subscription, etc. etc. etc. Now I'm off to possibly draw, write a letter of recommendation for Jedi (she's goin' back to school! YESSSSS!), and work out. And update my LJ. And maybe post that ice fishing comic I've wanted to post for ages. And some other stuff.

2) I'm donating blood tomorrow. Wish me luck--I've had a knack for almost-passing-out lately.
3) One more day of work on Sunday then VACATION! and I are flying around awhile and eventually landing somewhere in PA to visit . w00t!

Just realized something: Shock Wave is also the name of a Transformer? And a Decepticon, at that?! VERY unintentional. Just to clear up any confusion, my dA name "ShockWave742" is a dedication to my favorite roller coaster of all time, named ShockWave. It was built in 1988, first coaster to brag 7 loops, located at SFGAm (that's Six Flags Great America... gosh, try and keep up with the acronyms), and the one I fell in love with and lost many a brain cell from repeated marathon riding. Unfortunately, it was dismantled in 2002 , never to be rebuilt. *Sobs*

OK! Title = nothing to do with this journal. But if we are going along those lines, I suppose I could explain... yeah, I basically just made this weird noise that sounded like a Native American chicken while I was trying to beat the oncoming traffic who just got a green light. And Jedi said she'd make me an air freshener for my car with a Tribal Chicken on it.

But what's really important:

+ On Friday, thanks to Jedi for buying me a dA subscription, I was able to go through 305 deviations in under 4 hours!!!

I truly apologize for the following things:
- Cheesy, repetitive, boring comments on your artwork that deserved much better. By the time I got through those 305 deviations I couldn't come up with anything remotely original or thoughtful.
- I didn't comment on everything. I think I'd die.
- Not being on dA like, EVER.
- Being lazy and not posting anything in +2 (almost 3) months... there's no excuse. I've drawn and even colored some things.
- Not checking everyone's journals. I know I'm not up-to-date with anyone's life (except Jedi's... but that's because we see each other almost on a daily basis) but I do hope all is well.

Now, MOST IMPORTANTLY:
~ I am uber-impressed with everyone's improvement! HOLY CRAP!!! You guys rock. Not to get all sentimental, but HONESTLY. Great job. I'm honored to know great artists.

This will be short...

I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT BEING ONLINE FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH+!!! Not that it's a big deal because no one cares all that much but I'm here. Worked way too much but I only blame work for some (ok, the majority) of my absence. I changed jobs so there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for me now. I have drawn, just a wee bit, but I have started a bunch of stuff. And although I won't be getting a new computer with Photoshop on it anytime soon, I am saving for it and will be dreaming of the day.

Way too much happened in June, especially the first week. Don't want to talk about it... trying to take the advice of an Eiffel 65 song (whaaa?!) that says something about the past being gone and the future blah blah blah and to "live for today" so that's what I'm going to do.

Eh, yep! That's it! I am sun/wind-burnt from Six Flags but really, that's a small price to pay for the rides we had on Ranging Bull and Deja Vu... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Love it. ALWAYS makes me feel better.

As always, I've had a lot of inspiration come recently. Little things, like lauging too hard for the first time in a long time during a spur-of-the-moment game of Pictionary; and big things, like a couple of friends moving on to bigger and better things (grad school, teaching overseas) are motivating me to make a move now. I like my job, but there's SO much more. Along those lines... I made a list tonight of all the things I would kill to do again that I haven't had time to do in the last year because of me working too much. I keep wondering when life's going to slow down so I *would* have time, but it's been a year and if anything, it's speeding itself up! I blinked and a year passed.

ANYWAY! Among those things I listed... DRAW MORE. Like I used to! So I'm sorry if I "art dump" but I'm thinking I'll have some good stuff out by the end of the week.

My computer is totally on the way out which sucks! I may pick up a few extra shifts at work and save up for another laptop. I drooled my way through the Apple store at Mayfair mall with Matt today. Jedi's Jer-Mac has a... Mac... *stifled laughter, smacks face on wall* laptop thingy and so I checked them out. For what comes standard on those things, they're not as expensive as I thought I saw they were! If that made any sense. Plus my birthday's coming up so I hope to get a smidge of cash. Speaking of my birthday, I really don't want anything. I'll be spending it all day in class, which I don't mind because as I've mentioned a billion times before I miss school, and after class I'm donating blood.

Sorry again for the lack of deviations! There's no excuse!

1) I'm back from KY. Yup.

2) My heart is fine for now.

3) I can't wait for it to be warm out as to motivate me to work out and lift my spirits. And so I can put all my bumper stickers and stuff on my new car.

4) Matt and I are going to attempt to exreme-makeover-ify our apartment in celebration of signing a 1-year lease. Using his tax refund we may buy a couch. We have other plans for the futon . I'm excited. We may actually take off work (well, for me it'll just be a few days off in a row by default since I donated some of my vacation time to a co-worker whose husband just passed away) and just plug away at it 24/7 until it's done. I'm excited.

5) I'm frustrated with my job. Most of my co-workers are uber-supportive and the only reason I've survived the past 4 nights in a row. I have off one day then I'm back for more. It's been an emotional and physical roller coaster, dealing with a patient I am way too involved with (eeww, not that way), and dealing with certain other situations. I have no idea what will happen but the more I think about it, the better the chances are that I won't be sticking around much longer at my current job. Jedi also understands this.

6) Six Flags opens soon.

7) I'm aware I haven't posted anything in a month... looks like I'm back to my old self again.

8) I'm staying up too late tonight to get crap done. Like update dA and MySpace and my LJ and Facebook and pictures and... shut up, Monica.

I have SO many ideas of deviations I need to create. I just wish I had another vacation (say, a few months or so... haha, yeah right) so I could simply draw to my heart's content. Jedi and I were talking about things and we'd like to just quit our real-life jobs and draw for a living. Or tour with a band. Or be on tour with our band. Either one of those options I'll take!

In the meantime, I'm not sure which path I necessarily want to take as far as my job/school/etc. is concerned, but I'm optimistic I'll have more time to do things I love to do. Travel, ride roller coasters, go to concerts, go to sporting events, draw, guitar, song-write, blah blah blah... *sigh* It'll come.

I'd like to save up for a scanner of my own (I still use Mandy's...), possibly an art desk, and I probably should steal Photoshop from someone. My stuff's kinda boring and I'd love to just sit at my computer for hours perfecting little details of stuff. It's what I like to do!

I also took advantage of Free Cookie Monday at Subway yesterday.

Right now I'm quite happy because it's freezing (literally) cold outside. This means ice fishing soon. Hoo-rah! Most importantly, Christmas. I have pretty much all my shopping (and wrapping) done already. I've got a ton of fun things planned for this month and basically this upcoming year. Gonna be some changes made.

Well, time for a 2 AM Walgreens run with Jedi! Please watch for more to come. I slacked on a lot of things for months and now that I've finally accomplished close to everything on my "to-do lists" I think I'll finally have time to draw. Up the wazoo.

So once again, hoo-rah for this season and for Jaymes coming home soon and for a new year rounding the corner.

Mandy and I took a bunch of pictures (30, to be exact... it's all that fits on her digital camera) and in every single one of them (besides the one where I'm chugging a 2-liter of Dew) I looked high. Mind you, I'm pretty sure I've never been high. Unless you count that time another RA and I busted some girls for smoking pot and had to sit in their room for 2 hours as the police conducted a search...

I am SO LAZY! Actually, I'm pretty busy with work. But still, I have all these great ideas for pictures and stuff +plus+ I'm totally motivated by looking at everyone else's DA stuff, yet I'm still in a drawing slump. On a good note, I remembered two characters (hey, and they're actually semi-Anime!) I drew a few years ago that I'd like to continue/bring back. Only problem is, I can't find the sketch book that they reside in... and unlike CWJ and others, I can't pull things out of my head just like that and draw them. Sometimes I can, but usually I need some kind of reference.

Woo! It's October! I love Fall... probably my favorite season. Winter's close, but with the trees changing and it getting cooler outside... and did you ever notice that there are specific clouds that remind you of Fall? And it has this smell. The Fall smell. It's clean and... crisp? Like Chris? Was crisp? Like Chris? Ooops, sorry, McLusky song.
