Up until recently, I've almost never used photoreference or external textures in my images. Sadly that had to change in order to "take me up to the next level"..

I like to refer to my way of painting as sculpting in 2D with the smudge-tool in Photoshop.
Instead of explaining further, I've made a screenrecording that lasts for about 26 mins (it's possible to fastforward watching it).
It's nothing super but it shows me painting a human skull, resting on a table.

To my defense, I like to gather up a bit of info before I post here, so here goes:

I've started my own digital art company which goes under the name DigitalArtwork.no , currently I'm the only one working under it but who knows where the future might take it. My plans, ideas, dreams and wishes are certainly not few..

I got my first contract, signed by fantasyflightgames, in return a few days ago...so I guess it only means that my images were good enough for the LCG :-)

And it was a tough job, not because of what I had to paint, but because I feel drained of energy these days. The creativity has been lacking for a while and the commission jobs have been "pileing up".

And I've been wanting to paint on my personal projects aswell but there's been little or no time.

As I promised, I would paint a randomly selected illustration when the pageview counter passed 30K, and it has!

Very few had left suggestion for the 30K illustration, I counted only 5 people :katana:

So I decided to make a list of them and roll a 10-sided dice to choose who is the lucky one :-)

My to do list for the rest of 2007:

-Comicbook project will get much needed time now during the three weeks of spare time.
-Finished most of the commissions, still a couple left.
-A couple of online contests to paint for.
-Relax some, then paint more :-)

So the contest kept me busy for the last few weeks, finished the last out of 10 paintings and sent them off by express mailservice to the US last week. All I can do now is keep my fingers and toes crossed while they get their heads together and come up with the list of selected people for their upcoming fantasy book named "Rising stars of fantastic art".

I'm doing alot of concept for my fantasy comic book series called The adventures of Shrooms these days. Might even post some finished pages of it here when they're done.

Struggling to get time for all the ongoing projects, finished the sci-fi movie props project, redesigning my website again and so on.

Other than that, I finished the posterproject for the comicbookstore, print ended up being approx 230cm * 70 cm with a matte finish.

Scripting the first book of my fantasy comicbook series set in the world of Tulgarath is going much easier than I expected at first.

Being part of that project gave me a couple of new projects to take on aswell, possibly more movies in the near future to be part of the process in creating and a couple of artjobs.

Had a look at ImagineFX the digital art magazine based in the UK www.imaginefx.com this week and saw on the mainpage that they've selected me as one of their featured artists..how cool is that :-)

Am currently working on two movie projects (I can be seen in one of the movies) and I got a phonecall this week from another producer asking me if I could make weapons for their movieproject that they plan to start shooting in may next year.

I've recently teamed up with the guys at Bearcavestudios :iconbearcavestudios: , coloring their marvelous sketches.

Short background for the movie:
There's a war here in norway and the opposing force has hired over 300 scottish mercenaries to fight against the norwegians. They arrive at a place called Klungnes. The production is mainly single bladed weapons including daggers, norwegian/german basket hilt swords, scottish basket hilt swords. There will also be some black powder guns and long guns, some spears and some axes. And maybe helmets.
