        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ The Spring run of Shockfossils was conducted on March 23rd. We had some troubles with unseasonably high temperatures, which cause problems for the process. We did manage to compensate to some degree (so to speak)  and several new pieces have been created. Some of the new pieces I tried were not successful, but that's the name of the game here. We try new things and learn a lot each time, but we don't always come away with a lot of good finished pieces.  One large piece, "Aten" worked rather well and is now in the gallery.<br /><br />  There is also a commission piece which I will post only after the customer takes delivery. ]]></media:text>

The next morning he posted a short mention of them and my video clip on BoingBoing. I do have a number of "instances" of most of the pieces in this gallery, but they typically need to have the lighted bases fabricated.         <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ The Fall 2011 run went well. We had a huge number of pieces to run and many experiments that took a lot of time. We ended up using 12 hours of time on the accelerator; a new record! <br />The team were all very sore and exhausted when it was over, and then several of us had a 7 hour drive the next morning. <br />Please also visit capturedlightning.com, the website run by our mentor and collaborator Bert Hickman, the man responsible for doing an extraordinary amount of research on Lichtenberg figures and pushing the technique to new heights.<br /><br /> There is a photo in the gallery of an illumination test one of the new large pieces: "Fronds". ]]></media:text>
