I know I haven't been on here much in the past couple months. That's due to a lot of things, but mostly classes have started up again. In addition to classes I've been hanging out with my boyfriend, my sister recently got married, and I have a parttime job. I haven't been doing much with my photography as of late, and most of my artsy/creative side has been going into other projects. Like painting cute little adorable plaster figurines I buy at Michaels

I need to start signing up for more catalogs so I can keep making collage bookmarks. Ever since I moved home I haven't been getting many catalogs. Mostly because I don't want to spam my parents snail mail. But, thrift store catalogs and magazine selections around here are pretty lame. I've also been making a lot of cards, just blank ones, but don't have that many uses for them so they've been piling up. Maybe I should sell them? I don't know, but they are fun to make. On a random art note, you should all tell me what kind of awesome art projects there are for used CDs. I've been reorganizing all of my photos into a way where I can actually find what I'm looking for and have a ton of old CD-Rs that I no longer have any use for.

Another reason I haven't been on here much is I haven't been out and about as much as I'd like to be for the summer because I've been pretty sick lately. I was feeling better this weekend but now my fever is back. I have mono at the moment along with an ovarian cyst, I'm finally over a bacterial infection I had a couple weeks ago. And done with the antibiotics taht made me photosensitive. I am going to rest as much as possible this week (except for class) so that I can feel better before my birthday (the 24th) and so I can go to some parks this fall and get some beautiful photos of the fall leaves.

Well, I just wanted to update you on what's been going on with me as related to the dA world, if you have any questions or comments just leave me a comment below

I might do a feature journal or another news article soon if I find the time. My current project is to finish sorting through my thousands, possibly tens of thousands, of photos I've taken over the past seven or so years. It's incredibly time consuming. I have also been having to do it on my parents computer since my cd drive is going insane. I think I might also take all the pritns on here down from the store since I've never sold one and consider making an etsy store for photo products, my bookmarks, and the like. That is a project not arriving any time soon though.

On a dA related side note: I do like being given ideas for photography or 'requests' and I do not regularly check my stock account so if you have any random ideas for me or would like stock images of something leave me a note or comment on here

Wow! I bet you weren't expecting a journal from me. It's 2 am and I can't sleep and I was bored as well. So I decided to check my deviantart. I've been away for so long I was somewhat dreading it. I know I had plans in the past on here to become more involved, post more journals, update my gallery more, make more prints available, post more news articles. But, I have definitely become the opposite of more active. In fact, deviantart in general looks a lot different from the last time I checked it. I was extremely ill from September til February.

I left you off on the last update with me feeling somewhat better and trying to catch up with classes. Well, to sum things up: I became ill again/worse in December, ended up taking late withdrawals from school, moving home to my parents, and taking a break. I am feeling better now, they never figured out what was wrong, and I will be starting school again this coming Thursday. I haven't really been out and about much and Nebraska's winter this year hasn't been very photogenic anyways so I don't feel as if you're missing out on much in my lack of gallery updates.

It is totally not an understatement that I haven't been out much. I seriously haven't been interacting with people and I kind of have grown to like it. I seem to get more things done this way, and spend way less money. Haha. Kinda sad, I know, but whatever. As I said, I'll be starting classes this coming Thursday. Just three classes two days a week. They're back to back though (five minutes apart) for eight hours. So it'll be an intense two days.

I'm sure many of you know how much fun finding a job is right now. I've basically given up for the time being and will just concentrate on these classes. Maybe some nice opportunity will spring up by summer. Yes, I know 20 hour a week minimum wage jobs aren't hard to find, but I'm looking for something full time that would allow me to afford a car and some savings. Considering that in this job market I'm competing against people with more years of experience than years I've been alive, my prospects look pretty grim.

In relation to deviantart though, since I'll be getting out more and the weather will hopefully be warming up at least in little bouts (I took my dog for a walk this week when it was sixty degrees. Too bad it's gonna be cold and snowing tomorrow) I might pull out my camera again. It's been a while. Unless you count my self-portraits. Might upload one or two for you tonight just because I haven't updated in a while. I might be going on a jaunt outdoors next weekend as well and I"ll definitely bring my camera with me.

Also, since I've been away from dA, I've acquired over 3000 messages and 2000 deviations in my watchlist. I'm sorry but I'd prefer to try to check this from here on out instead of catching up so I won't be viewing everything that's just overwhelming. If there's something in particular that you've posted in the last few months that you are proud of or would like me to check out (news article, journal, deviation, whatever) link it here please.

I've gotten into more hands-on arts and crafts as of late. Sadly, I have not been taking photos of them. Been doing some painting of cute little ceramics and making some collage booksmarks. They aren't very remarkable but they are fun for me

I've also seriously considered picking up my cornet again. I dont' think it's left it's case in over a year. That might be an adventure to wait on. There's just so much stuff I'd like to do or work on I end up getting overwhelmed when I think about it or so indecisive or so overcome by the amount of things to do and the lack of time to do it I just wish I could do more things at once. I love sleep too, so there's no way I'm gonna give up sleep to work on other things. Haha.

I also love computer games, whether just like on msn games and simple or world of warcraft. I just have too many hobbies I guess. I promise this year I'll finish something though. Some sort of project. Don't know what though, but I just want to feel like I've done something or completed something on my massive to do list. The to do list in my head that is, if I wrote it down I think I'd be too boggled by it.

Well this was kind of a rambling journal that was just meant to be a little shout out to let you know that I'm still here. So hello again, deviantart!

Update

I noticed I hadn't updated this or been on here in a while. Thought I'd throw out an update. I've been super sick since the beginning of September and they finally figured out what was wrong with me (many things....I'm broken....). So now that I'm finally getting treated for everything I feel slightly worse. My body isn't use to the onslaught of medications. But I should be feeling better soon. I'm trying to work things out with my professors since I'm so incredibly far behind in their classes (like I fell behind in the first unit and the semester is almost over). I have a meeting with one tomorrow to discuss how to complete his class. Another is having me retake it in the spring and my others have yet to get back to me. I currently have no source of income as I have been unable to work, I'm not sure when I'm gonna try to go back to work or whatever. Probably not until Spring. Who knows? Well, needless to say, I haven't been walking around taking photos so I don't really have any updates for you. I honestly have no photos of fall this year (sad, I know). Maybe I'll get a couple good ones at Thanksgiving or something.

Well, enjoy the short update, I thought I'd post something since I hadn't since early September (about a week before I got sick).

Short Update

Hey there! I don't exactly have time to be on here, as there are plenty of other things I should be doing, but...I am. So, I thought I'd update you a bit. Classes started up last week, and I've also acquired not one but TWO jobs, so I'm pretty much insanely crazily busy. I am going to do a bit of catching up on here with the people I'm watching and all the journals my friends have posted, and I'm also going to upload a few newer self-portraits. I did do a photoshoot, but I need to discuss with the photographer whether or not I can upload the photos onto here. And then I'd have to find time too. I definitely wouldn't upload them all, haha. Just a few to show ya. I won't be having any time to do another photoshoot unless I do one over a holiday break, but it was fun and I'd like to do another one sometime. Eventually.

Well, an update on my life. I am majoring in Environmental Restoration Science, so the classes I'm taking right now are all science classes and do require quite a bit of studying, homework, paper writing, test-taking, etc. I haven't decided on my emphasis yet. It's either soil or water. I'm also minoring in math and chemistry. Yes, I'm a nerd.

I'm getting my haircut next weekend. Don't be angry, it'll grow back. I need something...less...to deal with. And I want something new. I think I might get bangs or something. Haven't had any in years. I also have some black stripes in the underneath back right now. They look pretty sweet, and I wish I could put them all over. But one of my jobs is as a caterer, so appearance is important and they don't approve of black tiger stripes. :/

I've been doing some writing, and I hope one day to actually finish a book. haha. yeah, right. I've been thinking of either finishing one of the stories I've been working on, making a poetry book (either my poetry or a combo of mine and my sisters'

, making an opinion/essay collection, or a short-story anthology. Someday.

I've become addicted to Zoo Tycoon. Well, I was right before school started. Sadly, I have no time to play it now. Unless I sacrifice sleep. Which I won't do. I love sleep.

I'm so glad the weather is finally cooling down. I <3 fall. Can't wait til the leaves start changing, and neither can my camera

Hello, everybody!

This is my annual disappearance journal. I begin my fall classes on Monday and I also have recently gotten a job. I'm also planning on volunteering at a local cat shelter and possibly getting a second job...

So, in other words....I will not have much, if any, time for deviantart between being places and doing homework and applying for scholarships and...and....

Which, seems to be an annual occurrence.

I'll definitely take my camera with me places though, and I might upload a few things every now and then, but overall, there isn't going to be much activity from this deviantart gallery. For the next four months or so.

Oh, and my birthday is exactly one month from Monday. I'll no longer be a teenager!

News

I have written my very first news article here on dA. I decided to do a photography feature and went about it through the thumbshare forum. I asked undiscovered photographers for the one piece out of their galleries they were most proud of and out of the hundreds submitted, I chose the best and put them in the news article. Stock

In my last journal I mentioned that I was going to be creating a stock gallery. Well, I have now. You can find it at siberianclover-stock (I know, very creative). I've already uploaded a few photos but only from July. Feel free to read the journal there for the rules and use them in your art projects.

Next dA Project

Well, I'm going to be backing up most of my photos on my new external harddrive and I'll be uploading more to the stock gallery throughout the process. Other than that, I plan on doing some modeling coming up soon and also making my photos available for print (which I've been saying for years now...). Also, if you see a gallery with awesome CSS journal templates, let me know! I'm looking for a new one!

Hello everybody, I haven't uploaded an extraordinary amount compared to usual. It's been freakishly hot and humid lately, and I just don't enjoy exploring much in that kind of weather. I've also been taking a couple classes that have been keeping me busy and do have a bit of a personal life in the real world, as surprising as that might be. But I do have a couple things planned for my gallery. First off, I plan on going through and re-finding everywhere I've been featured and adding links in the deviation subscriptions to where they have been featured. Secondly, I plan on creating a second account for stock. I did have a few stock images in this gallery in the past, and there were a few people who used my stock images, but they were crowding my gallery and didn't really fit in. I have been taking a few photos for myself (and of myself) that would be wonderful stock images, and thought I'd make them available to others. I'll let you know when I have that gallery up. I'll probably also put any digital manips I've done over in that gallery. And the third thing is, I've started modeling a bit (I haven't actually done a shoot yet) with other photographers (I know you all enjoy my self-portraits, but I mean really...) and have an account on model-mayhem. I met with a photographer this past week and plan to do my first shoot this coming week, so I'd say in about a month or so, I'll be adding some better photos of myself to my gallery of my modeling. I'll actually probably add them as a collection if the photographer adds them to his gallery, so that people can all comment on them in one place and keep things neat. Fourth and lastly, I plan on making all my deviations available as prints....

That Sounds Like A Lot

Those are all time-consuming things I have planned for my gallery in addition to what I already do here, and I'm also doing some writing which is coming along quite nicely, and I'll let you know when I finish with any of those projects, yadda yadda. But since I don't make any money off any of these things (at least not yet), they aren't my priorities. So, everythings gonna happen when I feel like it and gradually, I just don't want you to get overwhelmed

I also am looking for a new CSS for my journal but haven't found one that I like more than this one yet, but if you know of galleries where there are a lot of CSS journals, please let me know!

I'm Gone a Week

Geeze, I'm gone for a week, and what happens? EVERYTHING. I signed back onto dA for the first time in a little over a week and was so utterly confused I double checked the URL in my browser to make sure I was, in fact, here. I'm so thrown off. I'm sure I'll love it eventually, but right now I just feel so...new and lost. It's somewhat upsetting. But...

New Stuff!

...I'm gonna figure it all out, I promise. Then, maybe, I'll be able to even help you. I'm going to start off my exploring not by reading my 135 messages and looking at 364 new deviations from my watchlist, but instead updating my own gallery. We'll see if v6 has changed submitting and if so, for the better or the worse. I have quite a bit I'll be loading today, so I hope you like it!

Just So You Know

Not this past week, but leading up to it, and over the next few days as well, I've been sorting my favorites. I finally gave into the collections, not because I'm against favorites, but finding a favorite in my favorites was impossible. So I've sorted them. Into my own personal categories. I'll be collecting now instead of favoriting, since it's the same thing. I didn't realize what a task it would be. I had over 6000 favorites. I'm down to just under one-hundred left to sort. I actually really enjoyed sorting them, I went back and looked at some I had forgotten about and still love!

Real Life

Well, I was outta town for over a week and was quite busy. Now I'm back, and am quite busy. I start class in about 8 hours. Which means I should probably sleep, but I'm not tired, so I'll do that in a bit and come back from class and sleep some more most likely. I also have joined a local camera club, and I need to get back to some people on Model Mayhem and find a job. So though dA is one of my favorite places to be, as usual, I will not have much time for it. In fact, I don't now. I'm just sacrificing sleep.

Well, I know most of you haven't read my latest journal yet (besides this one) so it is below. I will be uploading some new pieces soon, but not nearly as many as I had hoped. Story: Last night I told myself I was going to go to sleep early because I wanted to get back on a normal sleeping schedule (lately I've been sleeping from about 4 am til 1 pm) for my new job. Well, it happened upon 3 o'clock this morning and I still was not sleepy. So I did what anybody would do desperate to get a new sleep schedule....I stayed up. And I am going to stay up until tonight so that I will be most tired and sleep early. It's a plan for now at least. But I'm already sleepy and it's 8 am. At about 6:45 I stopped chatting online and decided to go watch the sunrise. I got my camera, and went for a walk. At about 7:30 clouds rolled in and it got dark. But it still felt wonderful outside. Nice, cool, a light breeze. And I had recently moved here, so there was a wonderfully adorable neighborhood to continue exploring (which I will continue for a while, it's pretty big). I discovered a park today in my neighborhood, and a bike trail. Well, I went on photographing until about 7:45, when I felt raindrops and realized I was quite far from my apartment. I didn't actually know if I was very far or quite close, as I had no idea where I actually was. So I wandered about until I found a numbered street (my street is numbered) and found my way home from there. Just before the lightning truly started. And I mean constant lightning. Well, I didn't get many flower pictures (but I did discover some nice gardens)...I didn't get many pictures at all, but I'll upload a couple. While uploading from my camera I put on a pot of water to boil and I am now sitting curled up next to my computer listening to the rain...oh, wait...with a bit of hail....outside and drinking some caffeinated tea (I haven't had caffeine in months, but I definitely need it now) (Earl Gray if you must know) and eating jam on toast. I feel authentically....British. Well, hopefully this storm won't last long, but it is supposed to get pretty nasty. I'm tired of nasty storms (I'm in Nebraska....we haven't gotten hit quite as badly as Cedar Rapids...well, not nearly as badly). I want to continue my walk later, hopefully it will brighten up.

Because I am subscribed again! Wooooooooo. And I've never spent a dime for a subscription, though whenever one runs out, I always am tempted to. One of these times, I will. Because one of these times, I'll have a job. And who knows, maybe I'll have one by the time ChaosFay's runs out to pay her back for one! This one was won by her, but since she already had one, she gave it to me

I didn't even know until I signed on today and saw previews for all my comments. Oh, how I missed my previews. Thank you so much to dangel88 for the actual purchase of the subscription, she was the one holding the contest, and thank you SOOOOOOO much to ChaosFay for giving it to me

On another note...

On another note, I might have a job. I find out on Monday. And even if I'm making their 'minimum' starting wage, it's still higher than any other job I've held, so I'm super excited. I'm pretty certain I got the job, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. The job market sucks dirt right now.

Oh, and by the way, do any of you know anything about what the new dA is gonna look like? I know they're releasing it soon, and I'm really nervous. I hate signing on and feeling like a n00b. It's happened before though.

Well, my absence was caused by my lack o'internet. Now, I again have internet. which my parents are paying for

It's kinda an early bday present, but I'm not gonna complain.

I'm currently unemployed. Long story short: I was literally allergic to my job. And I've applied EVERYWHERE. Trust me, I have. The problem is, I'm only available when and where the buses run, which isn't that great here. So.....yeah, that kinda killed most of my job prospects, and most other places hiring either don't even pay enough to be worth it (20 hours a week at about 6 bucks an hour) or I don't have the kind of experience that my competing applicants have. I haven't had a single phone call, and I've been applying for jobs for a couple weeks now.

I'm literally going on broke, and I have quite a few bills to pay. I might have to take out a loan just to make it another month this summer. I was hoping to have a job taht payed so well that it'd cover my bills and then some. But, apparently not. Since, that job I was severely allergic to. And I mean severely.

Needless to say, I won't be buying a subscription anytime soon. But I do have more time on my hands to be on here and update and check messages and whatnot. And maybe I'll have time to enter a contest and win a subscription.

I am kinda busy though, since I'm job hunting/applying daily, and I've been out doing stuff like working out and random walking and stuff. And if I dont' get a phone call this week, I'm going to probably do a medical study or something to earn some money or take out a loan and sign up for some summer classes at the local communtiy college for the summer, which I might actually do anyways. And if I dont' get a call in the next two weeks I'm going to start volunteering somewhere, but I have to find a place first. But I've ALWAYS loved volunteering. I love it love it love it.

I haven't gotten many spring flower photos this year, I'm afraid. The ones I added a few weeks ago are about it.

I've been super busy lately, finals week was last week, and this week I'm taking a break from stuff, then I continue working 40 hours a week as a custodian next week. Eh, it pays the rent.

I haven't had the patience to arrange my featured gallery, especially considering I have so many pages of stuff and no subscription. So, you might as well just go to 'browse' when you go to my gallery.

By the way, my apartment doesn't have internet (I'm at my parents house at the moment) and it would cost me an arm and a leg to get it there, so I'm not going to be on nearly as much as I hoped I'd be this summer. In fact, I dont' know exactly where I'm going to access internet over the summer since most places around where I live close for the summer months. :/

Summer is almost here! Only 2 more weeks of classes!

2 very busy weeks....

I have a HUGE project to finish this weekend, since it is due Tuesday, but I'm also moving this weekend, so that's gonna be interesting getting things done.

Then next week is all reviews and studying, then FINALS.

I only have 2 finals though this time, so it's all good.

Then after that, I have to watch my parents house and my dog for a week while they go on vacation, then I get to live in my own apartment for the first time and start my job.

Woooo.

But today. Today spring is finally here. And I hope it is here to stay. The majority of April so far has been wrought with rain. And lots...and lots....of rain. But I don't mind rain at all, it's spring. But then it turned to ice, and snow, and sleet. That's not spring. That's winter. And I don't like it.

Today though, today it is absolutely spring. That's the only word to describe it, and yes, to me, spring can be an adjective. It is currently sunny with some white clouds--beautiful skies if I do say so myself--and sixty-five degrees. I love it! I'm wearing bermuda shorts and short sleeve shirt. It's AMAZING. Well, after calculus today (not a very nice place to be) I took my camera for a much deserved and long awaited walk to take photos of flowers. And I'll be uploading them today. Well, at least some of them. I do have other things I need to get done.

When I posted this journal earlier today I didn't even realize it was APN week. What a wonderful week for me to actually start catching up on my deviant subscriptions and messages, right? Haha. I love how APN week happens to fall the week that it starts feeling like spring. It makes so much sense (not that there aren't animals, plants, or nature during the rest of the year, mind you) for me. Well, I guess I'll celebrate by submitting a billion flower pictures! I hope I don't overwhelm you today, but I do have to make up for my lack of activity somehow.

Oh, and I am so beyond broke right now, so I'm not going to be buying a new subscription (very sad) anytime soon. I'm very tight on money right now. I might enter some contests for this APN week, since it is my forte, and see if I can win one though! But I'm also a bit tight on time. These next three weeks are going to be brutal. The next two especially. Hopefully this summer I'll make time to be that crazy dA girl who was on all the forums, had a subscription, entered contests, and actually stayed up to date with all the people on her watchlist....

I haven't updated or really been active on here at all, sorry! I just dont' have time, so I didn't buy a subscription/renew mine. It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you this is likely my last, or one of the last, 'fancy' journal for while. The last with CSS, the last with thumbnails, the last with a header and footer.

I will not be renewing my subscription to deviantart when it expires in nine days. I really need to spend my time on school, and I do not have the money for the subscription either. I have a few difficult classes that just keep getting more difficult, I have a lot of studying to do, and I do not have much money. I'm currently jobless and will be until May, at which point I"m buying a car. It will likely be a long time before I am resubscribed to dA. And I know it will drive me INSANE whenever I do have time to sign on. I won't be able to see my watchlist's latest deviations as thumbnails, or scroll through over a hundred thumbnails at once. And I won't be able to preview all my messages. It is going to drive me mad, but I know it'll mean I'll spend less time on here, which is what I need to do. Really.

On a happier note, I have been featured again! This time it was in wazabees' Caturday journal.

Yay! I love it when I get seen around dA, and get new people seeing me, commenting me, faving my work, and watching me. It just makes me feel good inside. I'm happy that it isn't just one of my pieces either that keeps circulating around. I don't want only one of my pieces to be considered great, ya know?

Well, my subscription runs out in 13 days. I don't think that I'm going to renew it right away, I honestly think that that would be a waste of money. I have so much to do in school right now, and so many difficult classes, that I need to stop spending so much time on dA.

And since I'm spending less time on dA, I don't want to spend money on it. At least not until it is warm and I'm back into my photo-taking season.

Well, I know it was a while ago I mentioned that I was working on a project for Blueprint Magazine. It's the engineering magazine here at my college, and it is also distributed to other colleges around the country. Well, the project was bicycles. It was a bit out of my normal photography range, and I was looking to expand my talents. So, I took photos of everything related to bikes.

And one of them was chosen and published, it even has my name next to it

Well, I might upload some of those photos that I took (that I really like) whether they were published or not. I want you to tell me what you think. I'm not much of a photographer when it comes to inanimate objects and the like...

Well, I have a huge test to study for (the test is tomorrow). I can't go to the review session, because it is during one of my other classes. Then this weekend I have another huge test to study for (the test is on Monday) and I have another test next Friday and another test the Friday after that. These next couple weekends will be study-time.

The only reason I'm on right now is because my bathroom is closed for cleaning and I am waiting for a shower....

Update: January 31st, 2008: Woah. It's been less than a week and I'm up to 7000 pageviews now. Just a week ago I posted a huge thank you journal for 6000 pageviews, and I have gotten another 1000 in one week. This is amazing, I want to thank you so much for stopping by. I've been here for a couple of years and 1/7 of my pageviews in that time have spanned the course of one week. That's an exponential increase. I'm really glad that I've had time to spend on dA interacting with everybody. That lets them know I exist, definitely.

I'm gonna disappear tonight and might not reappear much for over a week. I have two exams next week, both of which I need to cram for starting now. And this weekend I won't have access to my computer. Maybe I'll get some new pictures taken to add to my gallery though when I have time.

I'm currently taking a break from frying my brain with AutoCAD, Calculus II, and Physics. I still have physics to work on/study tonight, but my brain needs a break.

I'm pretty sure you have all had a similar feeling at one point.

I haven't really been updating my own gallery much lately, but I've definitely spent a lot more time on dA than usual.

I have recently sorted all of the people I watch into nice little categories including: (Animals (photography), Artisan Crafts, Clubs (that I'm a member of), Custom My Little Ponies, DA Related, Digital Artwork, Fractals, Friends (in real life), Landscapes (photography), Literature, Misc. Photography, Photo-Manips, Portraits (photography), and Traditional Art). That took a significan amount of time and during the process I deleted people who hadn't been on dA in over a few months, to years. I still watch over 200 people somehow though. Jeez. I've actually subscribed myself to all the people I watch journals though, so now I actually stay updated with everybody, and I do try to read and comment on them. I do hope to go through everybody and reduce my list though. It's getting overwhelming watching so many people. Deviations uploaded daily to check and journals to read, and then I still have to surf the rest of dA, ya know?

I have considered becoming a beta tester just so I can do the best of the best favorites that everybody keeps talking about. Sorting favorites would be nice. But I'm sure that will soon be released as a feature for everybody and not just beta testers.

Wow. That about sums it up. Over the course of just the past few months here on DA I have gotten a subscription, been featured in a journal, and been featured in a news article.

And now, just this month, I have broken 6000 pageviews. Less than three weeks after I broke 5000. That's more than 1000 pageviews over the course of three weeks.

I'm am so happy/overwhelmed/excited/humbled/amazed/wowed right now. I've been on this site for a few years now and in the course of the past month more people have seen my art, favorited it, and started watching me.

I guess I've finally gotten this deviantART thing figured out. At first, I just thought that if I was good enough I would get recognized, then I didn't think my art was good enough I guess, so I deleted a TON of pieces from my gallery that just weren't as good as the others. So my gallery focuses on my best (and most recent) pieces.

Then, I decided to put some up available as prints (people still haven't bought a single one, but I didn't really expect it), but if there is a piece you'd like that I don't have available as a print, just let me know.

Then, I decided I'd try out the thumbshare forums since I had a subscription. That helped tremendously, more people commented and critiqued my work. And I realized that no matter how great your pieces are, if you don't go around telling people you exist they won't know. So you need to put yourself out there on deviantART.

After the thumbshare forums, I decided that I wanted to check out other people's pieces and tell them what I think. So I just followed other thumbshares, and submitted my pieces to the forums and had people comment me, I commented them. I found so many awesome unrecognized artists there and I guess I became one of them. I noticed that the ones who were getting seen joined clubs, commented people, watched each other, etc. And I found so many people to watch, so many awesome galleries, and a few people that I enjoy just talking to here on deviantart.

Well, I kept on with the thumbshares, but also decided to join clubs on deviantART and submit to them when I have time. I've actually been invited to some clubs too now that people have seen me they started WANTING me in their clubs! I was so happy to get these kinds of compliments. I was so happy to have my pieces recognized.

Well, then another break came that gave me many more favorites and pageviews. In a thumbshare forum one deviant decided to feature me not in their journal, but in a news article. So many people check out news articles I was amazed. My favorites shot up and so did my watchers. People saw my one piece and then visited my gallery. My pieces with the most pageviews and favorites completely changed. It was an odd but great feeling. Not only were my close friends and relatives favoriting me, but complete strangers who finally saw my art and loved it.

Well, in my last journal you could see that I have become one of those people on the opposite side. I'm not really considering myself one of those completely unrecognized lost artists on deviantART. Now I'm recognizing others. I ran my own thumbshare forum and featured people in one of my journals.

I guess my next step is writing a news article, eh?

I am so glad that I finally made the time to truly get involved on deviantART it has helped me as an artist, and now I feel more confident in critiquing others and commenting others. I feel like I actually have an opinion that matters, that I actually have some respect as an artist. I've been talking to artists one on one on deviantART that a few months ago would never dream of actually being recognized by.

I'm just glad that I could be a part of such a wonderful place. The one tip I have for you, is don't just assume that you'll get recognition in anything without putting forth an extra effort. You need to give people something to recognize. You have to let them know you are there. And accept critiques, take them as advice, and do not ever just say "well, most people favorite this piece" or "most people like this piece". And also, do not ever get disappointed because the piece you are most proud of didn't cut it for most people. Still keep your pride in it, but recognize that your taste is completely different from others.

I hope to get recognition in my art to the point that it sells someday, and that I might get it displayed in a gallery somewhere. I'd be so happy to see one of my pieces hanging in a coffee shop somewhere.

Many people are doing winter themed features as of late, and for some reason they are associating blue with winter. Well, I decided on white, like snow, and am going to feature white things even if they aren't winter themed. I started a thumbshare thread in the forums for it, and you should be expecting it soon!

For now though, I'm enjoying my three day weekend and will be doing a lot of reading for classes and studying...and homework. But right now I'm going to stick around on deviantart. I am in a commenting/critiquing mood and am going to be going around to find things I like. Yay for forums.

Last night I joined a few more clubs here on dA and I think that I'm at my number of club limits, I just want to get seen a bit more and I think I've found my little niche of clubs for now. I like clubs that have a lot of members but still have time to add new additions. I want to be seen. But if you have a brand new club that you think I'd like, feel free to let me know!

Also, as always, even though not all of my pieces are available as prints, if you want to buy one, just let me know and I WILL make it available. I have never sold any of my prints and I would love to do so.

So much time on deviantart...

You may have noticed some changes with my gallery. I have resorted things (i.e. made sure they were sorted). I have deleted over 100, that're right OVER ONE-HUNDRED deviations that I just didn't like. I have rearranged my featured deviations and have been rearranging the subcategories so that they're in the same order as the featured (the last page of most of the sub-categories aren't in my featured deviations). I have allowed the download of more wallpapers, and I have added a few more prints for sale.

Throughout today I'm going to finish cleaning up and arranging my gallery. I have gotten rid of all of my stock images. If I decide to put them back up, I'll be making a seperate stock gallery, but that might not ever happen, and if it does, it will be a long time from now.

I do plan on having all of my featured deviations available as prints in the near future, but it takes a while for me to set things up as prints since i lower ALL the prices from DA's defaults. And i have to do those individually for each size and style.

I'm still feeling super ill, although not quite as bad as these past couple of days, and I really hope I'm feeling better by Saturday. I have an english placement exam to take (I want to test out of english) and grocery shopping and packing to do Saturday, then I'm hauling all of my crap back to Lincoln on Sunday.

After Sunday I will likely be extraordinarily busy and not be on DA much (again). My classes start up on Tuesday and they are my priority, my photography is just a hobby.

And I may even be getting a job this semester to save up for my car, which means about zero time on DA. 18 credit hours of classes, and a job. I'll be busy.

I have way too much time on my hands, and am stuck inside. I'm very sick and it's freezing outside. I'm not going anywhere and I'm too sick to do much movement, so I'm sitting here with deviantart open along with my photos.

I'm going through old photos, deleting some from my gallery, adding others, and editing still more. Re-cropping, re-contrasting, etc. Nothing too spectacular, but small things do make a difference.

I'm contemplating ordering prints right now as well, to just have, and to give as gifts. I still need to invest in frames and whatnot, and my photography isn't my priority when it comes to spending money at the moment. I'm a college freshman with bills to pay, and I'm going to need money for a car this spring. And, I currently have no income (so buy my prints!)

I have so much time on my hands, that after I finish going through what's in my gallery (and what isn't), I may move on to re-descriptioning some photos with animal names and such, putting print prices on everything in my featured gallery. And, I may also rearrange all of my photos in that gallery at some point and in my category galleries.

I can't go through all of my photos since most of them are in my dorm room, but I can go through most of my favorites, as I have them all saved in a convenient, very transportable place.

What I want to do right now is sleep, but I"m not allowed to (doctors orders) since I can't drink plenty of fluids while sleeping. So deviantart it is!

Caoca, the lovely black cat that has recently taken over my gallery and my new deviations belongs to

and she is a lovely little photogenic kitty. She is adorable, cuddly, playful, and she loves the camera (unlike my dog) and she doesn't even notice when I use a flash.

The only drawback is she is black, so placing a watermark on her is a terrible idea. It shows up way to deeply and although it deters people from stealing her photos, it also would deter them from seeing the photo in its true form.

Because of this, I have opted to not use the watermark option to protect them. If I find that somebody steals a photo of Cacoa, I will either have to remove them from my gallery or place the hideous watermarks on them. Don't steal photos, just enjoy viewing them, comment them, and if you really really like them and would like to use them LET ME KNOW and ASK NICELY (I probably will let you...but you have to ask first). I will have them available for print eventually, as is true with everything that will be in my featured gallery. Making things available as prints is time consuming, and so far not profitable. But if you would like something as a print, just let me know and I'll set it up so that you may purchase it.

I don't mean to sound like a terrible person, but I do not want anybody trying to take credit for my art. It is mine, and I am proud of it. I don't want others to claim credit for my work or make profit off of it (especially when I am not).

The only person allowed to use the photos of Cacoa (besides myself) is

due to the fact that the photos were taken in her apartment and are of her cat. Just because there isn't a watermark on them, that doesn't mean that they are free for the taking. If there is a specific use you would like to use any of my photos for, let me know and if I say yes I'll send you a full-size image file of the photo without a watermark.

Well, it's the first of December (although almost the second, I suppose) and I've been relaxing all day. That probably isn't going to make tomorrow end well, as I have two exams to study for (they are on Thursday) and a paper to write (due Tuesday) and a project to work on (due the 12th)....but I thought I'd finally post a new journal and maybe make it a little fancy. I'm really not sure how to work all the fancy journal stuff yet, but at least I'll have thumbnails and stamps in this one.

Well, the semester is almost over (finally). I'm really excited for my sister's graduation and then Christmas break. My parents were hoping to find a new house before then, but that doesn't look like it is going to happen. I really can't wait for my month off from this place, even if I'm going to be working a few hours. I really need the money, as I don't have anymore scholarships after this year and I also will need to invest in a car. I'm really looking forward to next semester. I'm taking 18 credit hours, but it is mostly stuff I'm actually interested in, so it shouldn't be too bad. And my schedule is pretty awesome (yay).

I recently rearranged my 'featured deviations.' So if this is your first visit to my gallery, my best stuff is in the featured gallery ranked pretty decently with the best first. For the chronological (most recent first) deviation gallery, just go to the everything gallery. I do believe that I have everything categorized into folders at least, so if you just want to see my flowers and plants photography (my forte) then click on that folder.

I have begun to make some of my photography available as prints. IÂm working on at least having all of my featured deviations available. If there is a particular one you would like that I do not have available yet just let me know, I'd be more than happy to make it into a print for you!

Okay, instead of featuring specific deviations, in this journal I am going to feature deviants. These deviants have absolutely beautiful, amazing, breathtaking, unique, (or all of the above) galleries! I'm guessing that this is a Christmas present, and it was just like opening a gift when Yahoo! popped up going "1 new message in inbox" on my toolbar. I'm like "eh, probably a warning about a chem quiz in recitation tomorrow or something" and then I click on 'inbox' and the sender line says DeviantArt so I'm thinking, I probably put something in the wrong category again and then I look at the subject line with amazement "ChaosFay has bought you a deviantART Subscription!"

I've decided to take a break from uploading and work on what's already in my gallery though, since I've uploaded so much lately. You should definitely look at my gallery. I'm currently rearranging images in my featured gallery and putting my best ones towards the front instead of my newest. My newest still remain in the front in the everything gallery (in case you like viewing that way). It seems like DA has a few kinks to work out still with the drag and drop rearranging with v2. I like the concept though if they get it right!

My latest project for DA:
-Name everything in my photos (the flowers, animals, etc.)
-name the files for my DA prints (they are only currently named on DA and I want to make sure it is consistent)
-make more photos into prints (I was originally going to take them off DA and sell them myself for more profit, but I currently don't have the time to do so and I would be selling them through a store on Ebay=lots of time and shipping and such, and right now I'm not making any profit to prove that selling them on ebay would be any better)
-make sure everything is in the right category (i'm moving some domesticated animals to cats & dogs, some macro to flowers, etc.)
-get a subscription (hopefully I'll get some christmas money for one or somebody will buy me a year's subscription for christmas)
....I want a subscription because I loved it so much when I had it. I want to see my subscriptions in thumbnail form again and I want to be able to make fancy journals. I also want to be able to insert thumbnails, etc.

I'd like to thank all of my watchers for they're support and sorry about the sudden influx of a million old deviations and a million updates, etc. I'm sure after a while I'll get back into the new swing of things, haha. I haven't had time to go out and take new photos and I've been pretty sick. But you do get to see some of my old work that has been hidden for years

Well, I've finally figured out what my best choice at this point is and after next semester I'm moving home and going to a closer campus (same college...) to my house. I'm not sure where I'm moving home to though since my parents might be buying a house. The huge college and crowds aren't working for me. And there's too much city here and not enough wilderness. I need a park and stuff. And I don't have a car, so I need one in walking distance. Moving home I'll be saving a ton of money, tuition at that campus costs less than housing at this campus. I am also going to be saving up to buy a car there. Less to worry about. I'll probably work a seasonal position over winter break and then get a job next summer. Yay.

Well, I've decided randomly since I don't want to do anything stressful while I'm not studying, I am going to go through old pictures, and I don't just mean old, I mean OLD. The kind that I have on kodak CDs from before I even had a digital camera. I might upload a few. We'll see!

My next journal (or one coming up) will be deviant features of my favorite deviants that I watch whose work is amazing! Keep a look out for it!

Current Project:
I'm currently working on a project for UNL's Blueprint magazine. I am not releasing any information about it to you right now. But I'll definitely let you know that I'm broadening my horizons when it comes to my photography. I'm not much of a person for stuff beyond nature, but for this upcoming edition's theme I'm working on man-made inanimate objects. I hope I do a decent job :/

And in case you haven't noticed, I've been practicing my portrait photography. Maybe I'll get a part-time job at a photography studio one of these days.

My portraits don't tend to be too amazing, because my 'models' are all friends and not many of my friends are willing to be models and those that are, well, I pretty much begged. So they aren't very relaxed, they don't really like having cameras point at them. So I don't have many models and my main model is myself, so I'm not getting the kind of practice I want. If you go to UNL and want to be a model for me (I don't pay, sorry....) I'm more than willing to do photos for you as long as you're willing to be relaxed and patient. I'll give you a copy of all of the photos on a CD and you can have them for whatever you want (senior pictures, christmas cards, whatever). I can also recommend to you the best places to get prints (for all sizes and types). Just let me know!

I really need a job. I have exactly 2 dollars and 35 cents at the moment. So, if you want to offer me a commision, just let me know. I'm pretty busy and can't work much more than 10 hours a week, so it's hard to find a job. Most jobs are also during the day, and I have class. How lame. I love doing photography commissions though. If you want photos of everything from construction sites, to buildings, to flowers, animals, or trees, just let me know! And give me an offer, I'll pretty much accept anything.

I believe I might do up one of those fancy journals soon, with personal features (my recent favorites, or all time favorites, or some pieces I've come across that are simply amazing and haven't been recognized).

I have 3 exams over the course of the next two weeks, so it probably won't be happening within that time.

I have recently rediscovered the forums and have developed a new favorite place to come across some wonderful, barely appreciated art (thumbnails forum). You should check it out!

I love giving and receiving comments and favorites, if you want me to check out your gallery or a specific deviation, I would love to, please just let me know. Please consider my lack of time right now, it might take me some time to get to it, but I'll try my best.

My 19th birthday is on Monday!

1. I collect My Little Ponies. I really really want somebody to customize my SiberianClover concept. She'd be a unicorn that is mostly light orange with brown stripes, three four-leaf clovers on her and she would have two shades of green hair (stripes of 2 shades).

Maybe I'll buy a commission custom someday

2. I'm currently a freshman double major in Civil Engineering and Biological Systems engineering. I plan on becoming an Environmental Engineer.

3. I wonder how things work. Like the elevator, how does it decide which floor is more important to go to first. And how do they program crosswalk signals? I guess I'm just a curious person.

4. I love organizing things. I love to make schedules and organize desk drawers and just about everything beyond and in between.

5. I could use some money for college. So if you are giving money away, please keep me in mind.

6. I absolutely love marshmallow phosphates. They are amazing. And Blue Raspberry phosphates. Mmmmm

7. Stars are amazing. I love stars on my clothes, on jewelry, on everything. I just love them. Especially if they are sparkly.

8. My birthday is on September 24th, again, if you're giving out money, I won't refuse it

But birthday wishes are nice too.

I just finally got fully settled into the schedule of college and now have a little bit of free time to finally come back onto deviantart and update. I haven't gone around Lincoln much yet to take photos, I'll probably be uploading a few this afternoon/evening.

I dont' know how the quality of the photos will be, but it definitely has much more capability than my other camera. This one also has complete manual options so I can finally completely work the camera on my own. Much more involved photography, but also much more difficult. I may disappear on here for a while while I...study...and practice with my new camera. It is not an SLR, but it certainly is advanced. It is a Sony DSC-H9.

Also, I came across, yes, I know this is a shock to you...but I came across some old FLOPPY DISKS. My old poetry is saved onto a couple of them and I will be uploading any that I like. Tell me what you think!

At that point in time, I'll be closing down prints on here and I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the gallery and whatnot.

I always get great compliments on my work, but I haven't ever sold anything. Nothing. Pretty pathetic. But someday, maybe I'll make up all the money I've spent on my photography exploits. Of course, I need to make up about, oh, 1000 dollars so far. :/

Anyways, my new camera was supposed to arrive today, but it didn't. Which means it won't be arriving until Monday.

Oh, well, I'll be just as excited when it gets here. But I'll have less time to spend with it right away

Now that I have a premium prints account and deviantart adds watermarks for me, things have become a lot faster and easier with uploading. I'm adding a lot of new prints for old deviations and a few new deviations.

I don't price them very high, and would absolutely love if you did. I haven't made enough off of them to make up for the twenty-five dollars I spent last September and will not be re-buying a new subscription until I do! I do not want to continue losing money. I want to at least break even!

It's been almost three months since my last update. That's just ridiculous, isn't it?

Well, I'm uploading a ton of new stuff. I hope you love it! Let me know what you think. And, remember to let me know what'd you like to see prints of. I haven't messed around with the new prints program yet though--it seems simpler and faster than the last though.

Finals are next week, then break! And, I'm definitely gonna be pulling out my camera more often.

It doesn't look like I'll be getting the new camera I've been considering. I'm pretty much broke. And, I have to dig into savings for quite a few things coming up. A camera isn't one of those things I'm afraid.

Please tell me what you think of the logo, description, products, name, and newsletter.

I will be upgrading that shop to premium here shortly so that I can offer a larger variety of images on similar products, currently I can only sell one style of each product.

Also, if anybody has any extra tips for using Artweaver, please let me know! So far I'm happy with the program. It is set up very similarly to photoshop, which I know how to use.

I wish that I didn't have to do so, but I have come to find that if you post your art freely, people seem to believe that it is free to take. That is why I've added overlays to ALL of my images. Maybe in the future I'll buy a print account so that you can purchase my art, but until then you will only be able to view it with the overlays covering the images. And even though they don't have overlays, my poems aren't up for stealing either. If I encounter a problem with anybody taking credit for my poems I will remove all of them from the site.

On another note: I should be adding some more photos in the near future now that I have more time on my hands, and maybe I'll add some more of my older photographs, if I ever get around to it
