I'm now almost halfway done...

Also I'd like to apologize to all the people I watch/know on DA, who may have put up artworks and been disappointed when I did not stop in to leave my amazing comments. I especially apologize to these people because I'm just going to clear all my deviations, on account of having more than 3k (and 913 messages).

So, the reasons I've been gone from DA are fairly simple. College kicked my ass, hard. I failed out of Chico State, and I was academically disqualified from enrolling in a California State University for a period of at least one year. Prior to this I'd been living in an apartment in Chico with my girlfriend, which was paid for by my mother's cash. Now, for obvious reasons, she's not too keen on continuing that setup, which I cannot really blame her for. So and I have spent the last month or two scrambling to get jobs which are capable of supporting this place. The current lease ends at the end of September and neither of us have been able to find anything. Before you judge us as slackers, however, please remember that we're looking for work (with neither of us having any real experience to speak of) in a town with a 16% unemployment rate and a lot of kids our age looking for similar work. So I don't really know what's gonna happen in the coming months.

Anyways, yeah, I'm not dead, but I haven't really been in a great position for art lately. Sorry for bein' a slacker.

So last Tuesday (yesterday as it happens) my gf, , and I signed the lease on an apartment, and we spent the night there last night. Sleeping on the floor. But it was OUR floor (kinda, renting and all). And we forgot toilet paper. That was a problem, lol but that's okay! It's still awesome. The bed and stuff is comin' up this weekend. So, we still don't have internet up there, probably won't for a while, so my presence around DA might be sketchy.

However, I have begun working on the next one of 's pictures, it is in the sketch stages and I should have a WIP thingy to put up soon-ish.

Also, holy shit people, it's October. CSU is fuckin' insane, one of my classes I thought was easy has turned out to be a bunch harder, so much so that I'm worried I might fail it! Other than that one class though, the other three are awesome. Well, two are awesome and the other is tolerable.

I can't wait for Fallout 3 to come out, even though I know I won't have much time to play it... T-T

Anyways, on to the specifics. They're mainly lookin' for artists for the computer game right now. They want things to be either painted or digitally colored, though if you just make line art, and you are okay with me coloring it, then that would probably be fine too. The sort of art they're mainly lookin' for is backgrounds, enemy designs and item/equipment designs, but just about anything would probably be useful. The computer game is set in a sort of dream world kinda thing, so it will combine fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and just about any style, so that's not really a problem. Lookin' around here I only found one club related to oC and it's been inactive for 44weeks, and the owner has been banned, for whatever reason. So no help there, for now at least.

So, do any of you few who read my journal know how to work oC? Specifically how to host a server? And, whether you do or not, would you be interested in getting together from time to time, perhaps starting an oC community?

EDIT: So after Domon pointed out that tutorial to me, I picked up Hamachi and it works great so far, though I still have not had a chance to really test it out... I need interested digital artists!

RMGF-wise everything seems to be rolling along on my end. The comic that my friend and I are working on now has a title, a cover and a first page, though none of it is up yet. Chaos Isle, the first card game, is having a little trouble making it to completion, mainly (actually completely) due to the Printers not being able to get it right, or having delays, or whatever.

Hmm... so what else... OH YEAH! lol. So my boss-guy, at the Realmsmasters Game Forge ( [link] <-- Shameless plug) was lookin' through my comic the other night and he was like, "y'know... down the line a bit, when we're not so busy, we should totally print this up and stuff." To which my response was, "OMFG SWEET!" lol. Okay well I may not have said that. But that's what I was thinkin'.
And he also gave me a piece of advice. He said that I should stop takin' a bunch of requests and startin' all kinds of projects and such, and focus on my comic, Duck illos (which have yet to get off the ground, due to the author having surgery soon), and my stuff for the Realmsmasters. At first I was like, "What? No way!" but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. Basically, that's the stance that a professional artist would take, as opposed to a casual one. I'm not really sure I'm ready/good enough to make that sort of conviction though...

I think I will attempt though... So expect less random stuff, and hopepfully more Card-game themed stuff and more Comic pages. Oh and possibly more ducklings eventually, lol

First of all, I'm tentatively declaring my slump over. Short wasn't it? Probably not even noticeable to people who aren't me/who I did not whine to.

New page of the comic up, it's longer than the others, due to bad planning on my part. But it works fine on a computer, so whatever.

A few new projects to work on. First of all myself, and another friend of ours are going to collaborate on a side-scrolling shooter game, in the vein of Gradius for those of you who know what that is, lol. Instead of a ship though, we're planning to have it focused on a dragon, possibly with a wizard riding it. While this will no doubt be cooler, it will also mean more work for the head artist (me) and more work for the head coder () But that's okay, nothing worth doing is done easily, no?

And my sister has asked me to help her with a project that her friend is putting together. My part in this project will likely be a few small, simple mythical creatures to be put in sort of a myth-bestiary type book. Anyways, more details on that as it comes.

And then of course, I've still got a lot of work to do for the Realmsmasters, they are currently my highest priority artistically speaking, and I really do need to buckle down and belt out some work for them.

Oh! And I still want to get at least one more character design in for 's contest. If you don't know what I'm talking about you should go check her out, she's a great artist.

Also, in a flood of inspiration and quite a bit of brainstorming with some good friends, I have come up with the Big Idea for my comic, as well as good plots for the individual main characters. It has occurred to me that in the Heroes of my comic there are 5 women and only 1 man... But w/e I don't see this as a problem. So I am pretty excited about that, expect to hopefully see a lot more comic pages in the coming weeks.

Lately though a few things have come together to give me some rather evil Artist Block. Lack of regular sleep, school, Warhammer and my gf takin' off are among the biggest culprits. So that's the reason for the recent slow-down in artwork. Expect that slump to last a little bit longer, though I'm startin' to break it.

I'm gettin' back into Warhammer though, for the third time, lol. Gonna be Bretonnia this time, instead of Orcs and Goblins. For those who don't know, Warhammer is a tabletop game where armies of miniatures duke it out. Think Warcraft, but without a computer, lol. Anyways, chivalrous knights this time, instead of brutish savages. Hopefully it'll last a bit longer, lol.

So I'm drawin a comic, I'm tryin' to at least. If it gets big/good enough and I can get the pages out quickly/reliably enough I hope to eventually host it on it's own site.
