In other news, last weekend I helped out

with their stand at the Artist's alley on CJMC (a comics-gaming-animation-cosplay convention here in my city). Lots of fun indeed! I nearly sold out the stuff I brought(remnants from the Winterfest plus some last-minute prints and custom goods XDDD), though I wish I could have brought more work to display and sell.

What I am happy about it, is that the Alley area is actually getting bigger and bigger, and I overheard comments from visitors of it being the best part of the whole convention....:joytears:. I long for the day were we can have a Comic-Market type event here. I enjoy seeing non-mainstream, self published projects and DIY goods from creative people.

Currently, I'm seriously considering on going to another big con at Guadalajara in 15 days, but I'm still not certain if I'll do (budget, budget). Plus I gotta finish a lot of pending pics XD.

and me just came back from the offline event "Winterfest 2009", a comics and animation related convention, at Chihuahua, Mexico; the funniest thing of it was that it was more of a "Artist alley convention" or as some friends put it, a "Massive Devmeet"; here's a short account of what happened those 4 days:

FRIDAY:
The Flight day. The four of us were going to be on the same plane and in neighbouring seats at that!. Due to nervousness and plain excitement, we slept merely a couple of hours, and since the plane had to lift off at 7 am, we had to wake up at 3-4 am, then get together at the airport (2 hours car-drive in my case).....

When I arrived to the airport, the rest of the group was already at the waiting room.....except for

, who was at her 5th metal-detection revision XD

Then we got the advice that the flight was going to be delayed for an hour due to technical reasons.......

We killed off some time by showing off our goods to be sold at the con, and flipping through some art books and stuff XD

When we arrived to Chihuahua later that day, we got to the hotel, were the reservation name got mixed up....apparently Chutkat and I have a lovechild who came from the future to reserve us a room XDDDD or something like that.

Megaman X Fan Fiction Comics
Lol, I did finish the script but never got into finishing the comics, mostly because I was satisfied by seeing there was an official manga (before internet we had the game and ONLY the game, no more beyond the series' universe, so there was a need to imagine what else could have happened) and because I wanted to focus on my own creations. I did learn great things with these though, among them was the use of the nib pens, observing images for reference, studying styles, drawing with geometric shapes such as boxes (used a lot in the robots) and having some sort of a "deadline" so I could show the comics to my closest friends (this was the other purpose of the comic: to share it to people with the same interests, and have fun together).

As a side note, my brother (he was 11-12 back then) made most of the backgrounds on the second chapter

Side note2: There was a Firefox maverick!!! even before the browser came out!!! HAHAHAHA!!!

Promo descarado XD: Que no se les olvide que estaremos y yo en la Mottocon [link] en el Ã¡rea de dibujantes, vendiendo chÃ¡charas, Â¿okas?

Este pasado fin de semana estuve en la convenciÃ³n de comics en Cintermex, Monterrey; promoviendo los cursos que se imparten en la empresa en la cual laboro.

De entrada, si me reconocieron en la conve XD, me disculpo porque:

-En el primer taller que impartÃ me comieron los nervios, porque el driver de la tableta no jalaba (te odio , Vista).

-TraÃa una voz mÃ¡s chillona de lo normal porque me enfermÃ© de la garganta a dos dÃas de comenzar el evento.

- Que alejaba mi cara del micrÃ³fono para toser, aclarar la garganta, agarrar aire o sonarme la nariz, por lo mismo de arriba T___T

- Si conocidos llegaron a saludarme y no pude mantener la conversaciÃ³n constante debido a que estaba atendiendo a los visitantes del stand.

-Si me veÃan medio paranoica ya que debÃa cuidar el equipo del stand (sobretodo las plumas de las tabletas de muestra, ya que como sabemos, objetos tan diminutos como Ã©stos son extremadamente perdibles DB).

-Soy penosa con gente nueva, de plano XD.

Pero bueno, pese a que muy agotador, estuvo genial, pues encontrÃ© y reencontrÃ© a muchos Devianeros 8D,conocÃ a

a quien ya conocÃa por mi previo nick y mi pÃ¡gina web hace uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh aÃ±ooooos (muchisisÃmas gracias por las revistas, stickers y el sketch 8D, los atesorarÃ© hasta el final de los tiempos),

junto con otros creativos, presentando su juego de rol [link] (no alcancÃ© a comprarles el libro, pero se los compro en la Mottocon 8D), fui a ver el stand de comics independientes en mi escapada para comer (en vez de comer, hahah),

llegaron a mitad del primer dÃa y flotamos un rato XD,

nos trajo unos regalos de los cuales le estoy muy muy agradecida por el detallazo (los aprovecharÃ© al mÃ¡ximo XD, muchÃsimas gracias

) luego nos invitaron a Hugo y a mi a cenar con ellos al Papalote, donde me presentaron a los tacos machos XD (camarones ultra condimentados con chiles regionales y pimientos, envueltos en tortilla de maÃz) fue muy
divertido con las plÃ¡ticas de Carlitox, South Park y Futurama (aunque en Ã©ste Ãºltimo no me he actualizado mucho, pero entiendo los chistes XDDD)
