I'M STARTING A BATTLE CONTEST!!! XD
Yeah, I know, some of you probably figure it's because I'm all bitter about Lith loosing in the OCBC I entered a while back and I want to take it out on you, but just as many of you know for a fact I haven't got a long enough attention span to hold a grudge, especially against as gracious a winner as

Nope, I'm over that, but it did get me thinking. I had a great time, and I made some fantastic new friends- so, genius that I am, I put two and two together and decided I'd try and spread the Original Charater Battle Contest love.

Here are the details.~

WTF?
----------------------
It's an Original Character Battle Contest (OCBC), meaning that entrants pick one of their original characters to use, get paired off against one another and create a work of art (Comic, drawing, painting, animation) depicting their character beating the living tar out of their opponent's! X3
Actually, there need be no violence involved, just having them win at any contest will do. Points are awarded for artistic skill, creativity, originality, use of design elements and principals (I'm asking my art teacher to help judge, so do your best! ) skill displayed in the depiction of your opponent's character's personality, strengths and weaknesses, and of course, the overall effort that goes into it.

You guys! Everybody is elligeble to enter, as long as you have an original character (completely original, mind. No FMA or Naruto fan characters allowed-copyright infringement is nasty stuff >-< ) and can get an entry in once a month.

Why Should I?
----------------------
To make friends and better yourself as an artist! ^-^
Okay, okay-it is a contest, so there's a few prizes at the end. To be frank, I'm broke, so I can't buy anyone a subscription...

HOWEVA!!!

-Earning first place will earn you a 100% original work of art-by yours truly- in colour, of ANYTHING you choose! I'll even mail you the original version with a pretty frame, and give you a permanent feature in my journals. ^_^

Now as for what I've been doing this summer up until now;
I went out to Nettie lake with

and her family a couple times, and I just got back from by aunt Carole and uncle Michel's wedding-which was boring as hell because the ceremony was an hour long and all in french. (though I've been assured it was very touching)
All I really remember of the actual 'wedding' part was that we had to get up to pray about five times, then do this little communion thingy with wafers.
French Catholicism is excessive. -_-

By the end of the night my feet were also the epitome of searing pain because my gramma had convinced me to wear heels. If I may quote, 'high heels are a man-made invention designed to make your butt look smaller and stop you from running away when the guys notice it' because you have to be very tallented to do more than hobble while wearing them.
Hooray for consolation in the form of yummy french food at the reception! Yay food! XD

Well, othet than that not much of interest has happened. I just finished submitting my entry's to the original character battle contest I signed Lith up for and the 'summer luvin' contest my club is holding,(wish me luck!) so I'm out of things to draw.

Since I've also finished up my last round of art trades, if anybody else is interested, I'd be glad to do one with you :3

How are you guys spending your summer? I'd like to know if I'm the only person who's idea of a good time is sleeping 'till noon and drawing things for people. :3

I uploaded three pictures today, after deciding Steve wasn't going to get around to fixing my laptop any time soon. They're all from the larger of my two sketchbooks if anyone's wondering, not the pretty black one.(Which can atually fit under the scanner >.<

I went over to my friend's hunting camp again the other day. Sadly there was a lynx slinking around in the darkness near the fire pit for a good chunk of the night, so we had to stay inside. On a high point, it was wet that day so a bunch of fireflies came out. They were very pretty. ^-^

With

gone for most of the summer and everybody else essentially out of contact, it seems that I'm going to be doing a whole lot of nothing the next two months. If anybody's interested in doing an art trade with me, don't hesitate to ask. It'll let me get some practice in.

That, and my brain isn't functioning so well at the moment, since I just got back from camping out near Kenogami lake with some friends. I think it must have been the whole 'living off of fried chicken and hostess cupcakes' thing, along with the campfire smoke that's left me pretty much braindead at the moment, so bare with me as I ramble.

I saw a bunch of wildlife while I was out there-which was fun for me. Most of it was right near the highway in fact, which should give you an idea of just how far out in the middle of nowhere I live.

. There was a ground-hog hiding in a runoff pipe we stopped and looked at for a while-we got really close too. He was cute. ^^ Also saw a couple species of birds that don't come into town often-a blue heron, a red-crested woodpecker and a family of ducks. We might as well have been on safari-and this was all just on a walk to the gas station.

I really wish I'd have brought a camara...

There are a lot of dragonflies out by the lake, so for the most part the bugs wern't bad. The only thing is that when we went to bed that night, these HUGE nocturnal beatles came out. Aperantly while I was sleeping one of them got in and Mike chased it down with a steak knife-He killed it, but I'm pretty sure he was being melodramatic.

I also found butterfly that got shmucked by a car to bring home and pin up. Poor little guy...

In other news, my laptop's busted. I think I must have got a virus from SOMEWHERE, though I'm damned if I know where since it dosen't even connect to the internet. I think I'll have to reformat her-meaning I loose ALL of my files, including the picture I was going to upload. *gloom* -___-
Well, that's about everything that's new with me. I'm going to go take a shower now and wash the smoke smell off of me. Talk to you later.

Sadly though, I won't likely be uploading any deviations for a while because my tablet has died suddenly and tragically, and my scanner's at my dad's place. (and I'm not going back there anytime soon)
So if anybody can tell me where to get a new tablet that's functional but cheap, please do. I miss mine terribly.

Our play "Going Through Hell" won about six awards for directing, acting and stage-managing, though we didn't win the "Outstanding Production" award we would have needed to automatically advance to the reigonal level. Here's hoping we get a wildcard and get to go anyway! *crosses fingers*
It was a comedy about a gut who gets sent to hell for bullying a poor little nerd (my brother played the nerd ^-^) and ripping up his book. I was one of the dancing devils who were random entertainment for satan and got to run on stange and yell "Burn!" every time something bad happened to Dan (The main character) just to run it in.
Several people have told me I had way too much fun with it. ^-^

And in unrelated news, my evil twin brother is STILL reformatting my laptop. He's had it for two weeks now and I am starting to get very.pissed. Aperantly all he has to do is reinstall Photoshop-only he can't find it.

Now let's get on to what's happened to me lately. Frankly, it's been nothing of intereest. I just spent the last three days at my dad's house doing some spring cleaning and taking care of my animals.
I discovered I have a very bad dust allergy-it sucks.
Also, my dad and brother are pigs.

Which reminds me, if Steve makes one more goddamn crack about Chris being my 'boyfriend' he will eat fist. It's his little joke you see-every time I go and do something with one of my guy friends, he mocks me mercilessly because GOD FORBID I should have a normal friendship with a member of the opposite sex. Of course it's either he mocks me at home or he threatens the guy to keep his hands off me every time he sees us together.
Hmm...
I guess Chris should count himself lucky then...

Moving on, a few people from my school,

included, have invited me to join their Dungeons and Dragons campaign the next time they play. Frankly, I have no idea what it involves, but if Shika likes it I figure I shoudl give it a try-as long as I don't have to buy a bunch of stupid game pieces. Damn I hate games that you have to buy a bunch of crap for. -_-

Umm...I have a media project due soon. I'll probably upload it once it's done. Not much other than that. Anyhow, it's late and I'm tired. I I'm going to go upstairs, finish my Media homework and then stare out my window for a while...or I guess I could play some Black and White...but I'm sick of that....or I could go on MSN...but nobody's ever on...or I could...umm...get some icecream? Within the last while I saw not one, but TWO movies at the theatre!...okay look, it's a big deal for me okay? Humor me.

Anyhow I saw "Stranger than Fiction" and "The Pursuit of Happyness"

Strangely enough, both were actually very good, which is weird since I often have the misfortune of only seeing crappy movies when I go out (That's right Fate, I haven't forgotten X-men three! >.<

Okay, for the sake of not being able to use it as a quote of the week, I'm going to tell you guys here that my absolute favourite part of "Stranger that Fiction" involves the line "I brought you flours."
Watch the movie and you'll hopefuly understand why I love it so much.
I swear, it took me a minute and a half to get it, but once I did I spent the next five minutes giggling insanely. XD Ahhhh, I know I'm a nerd, but man, that was just too clever!

Well anyhow, Monday was the first day of my second semester. Im currently taking;

Parenting: Never take this class-I repeat-NEVER take this class! If you value what vestiges of sanity you have left, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! It's 50% listening to the teacher read painfully slowly directly from the textbook, 45% book work involving the answering of vague questions that repeat themselves, and 5% taking care of an annoying mechanical baby for a solid five days.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT REMAINS HOLY IN THIS WORLD, DO NOT TAKE PARENTING!!!

Media Studies- Promises to be awesome. Today we got to talk about the inherant flaws of human nature that make a true democracy impossible. We also get to make a movie later.

That and I have a great teacher who's actually SMART and who let me make a construction paper stick-puppet of him. (It was for a project okay?! >.<

Computer and Information Sciences: Don't quite know how I got into this class, but I'm learning java script. Today I made a program that multiplies and number you put into it by five! YAY! Yeah, I know, lame, but I was proud of it.

Art: Boring assignments. Old teacher. You can only assume why I don't look forward to it.

Hmm...have I got anything else to say? Guess not. Well, I guess I'll go and draw something.

I point is that I misses second period class ('Introduction to anthropology psychology and sociology'-affectionately referred to as 'Anthro' by the students who take it for the sake of convinience) because our school went into lockdown so the police could bring in thier scary german sheperds and search for drugs.

I'm not complaining. I only had one class today because of it, English interviews and the Anti-smoking assembly. ^-^

Great, I think, Ill make cake! So go out, buy a cake mix at the store so I dont have to work from scratch, and take it home.
Then the fun begins.
I live with my gramma. Shes been baking since before my PARENTS were born, thereby making her the almighty guru of all things baked. I go into the kitchen to try and get my cake done before dinner and am immediately assaulted with instructions on exactly what to do, in what order to do them in, and as I bake she lists me what Ive already done wrong.
~I should have bought a chocolate cake-they look better
~No I cant dye my icing red-it looks tacky.
~I need to flavour it with vanilla-no not peppermint, vanilla-no, there will be no peppermint icing in my kitchen.

At this point I snap and kick her out of the kitchen and ice my cake the way I damn well please. In the end I ended up with a french vanilla cake with peppermint-vanilla light-green icing and walnuts on the top-and I dont give a flying rats ass what she thinks of the job I did icing it!

Now dont get me wrong-I love my grama. I actually love her way to much sometimes. But shes such a freakin nazi when it come to doing things a certain way. Its like hers is the only right way and if you try to do something on your own, youre doomed to fail.
Im currently getting the silent treatment because I tried to explain my irritation to her, and she took it personally-as usual.
I hate Mondays.

I had to tow Shika-chan a good chunk of the way home that day since she, in her infinite wisdom, wore shoes with no treads. For the record, Kirkland Lake's geography is quite similar to San Francisco. Ie. you need treads to climb the big frikkin' hills when they're slippery, or else you might as well be wearing roller skates.

Bitching aside though, it was funny as hell, and Shika has told me she intends to make a comic of our little adventure. Ill post a link ti it when she finishes. ^-^

First off, a little cooking lesson. Take one small drama club fundraiser involving a bakesale and pumpkin guts being thown at human turkeys. Add one HUGE idiot and a hollow pumpkin decoration to the mix, load into a cannon and fire at the nearest pane of safty glass. The Result? The drama club now owes the school 200$, the idiot has got off scott free, and we end up loosing more money than we made.
I.Hate.People.

And Pumpkins.

Also, I may be slow uploading art for the next while. Things have gotten tough at home lately, and I'm staying with my gramma a few blocks away right now-(ie;no scanner, no printer, dial up internet) May end up moving in if stuff dosen't get any better...meh. At least she's agreed that, if it comes to that, I can bring my dog with me.*hugs Hunter* 'Course I'll still get some stuff up since Shika offered to let me use her scanner when I visit on Fridays-like my donut gremlin!^-^ Thanks Shika!

On a brighter note, it seems someone has started up an anime club, allowing the six or so people in KL who know what anime is to be total geeks in club format-including Shika and I. Now, while sitting around watching anime and playing Xenosaga sounds pretty fun, I've been informed that they also plan to form a cosplay group if enought people join-something I know Shika is not going to let me get out of. -.- Le sigh. Ya know, I always swore that, while I truly admire those brave people who can dress up and make fools of themselves for the sake of fandom, I'd never sink to such depths of geekiness myself...
I plan to choose Tenten from Naruto, since she's at least mostly normal looking.

Hmm...anything else worth noting? Um...comissions doing good with Christmas coming up, Quills and Quotes(my creative writing club) is publishing an anthology on the subject of Hope I need to write two pieces for, my brothers thumb is broken, as is his/my bike, and I have a cold *sniffle*

First off;I GOT MY EARS PIERCED! First time, and lemmie tell you, if you're afraid of needles(like me) DON'T DO IT! I nearly passed out when I saw the jewelry store chick pull out what looked a helluva lot like a loaded pistol, and SHOT THE FRIKKIN EARING RIGHT THROUGH MY EAR!!! OH THE PAIN! Damn, all you guys out there are lucky- you don't have to worry about everyone you know saying "like OMG! You like, SOOOOO have to get you're ears pierced!"
Okay well, maybe my friends don't sound QUITE like that, but you get the point. Any boys out there who want to have a sharp metal stake jammed through their flesh-I give you no sympathy.

Point two, I visited some relitives in Ottawa. They got a POOL! YAY! And I can now officially swim the length of it without drowning. ^-^ I went to the little comic place while I was there, blew alot of my hard earned comission money on Naruto and Trigun crap to cuddle/slap on my walls, and started seriously wondering if I may be turning into a fangirl. I later decided I wasn't quite that crazy yet.
I also got to see my little cousins. The nine year old for some reason thinks my anime is the coolest thing he's ever seen, and so I spent quite a few hours drawing random junk. Still though, it was fun. He's just such a sweet little guy.(Seriously, he's the exact opposite of most kids these days. He's a total sweetheart. *fawn* ^-^)
The only bad point was the 20 some hours spent in the car driving there, back, and around the city. Sooooooooo boring-especially considering that I can't read wile the car's moving or I get sick.

Point three-KL has a new highschool this year! Well actually it's a composite school, since there are grade 7 and 8 students going there too.(They have uniforms. Ha ha. Suckers.)Our new art room has a skylight, which is SUPER AWESOME!!!The only problem is the art teacher has a huge stick up her ass, and little to no tallent. Why Mr.Margetson? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MOVE TO ENGLAND?!?

Okay first item on the agenda;
SCHOOLS OUT! HELL YEAH! NO MORE EVIL HOMEWORK! I even got me an award at the ceremony this year, and it wasn't for art or anything. ^^ What's even better is that it was the only award that wasn't a dumb certificate. Damn I hate those things! Who gives a crap if they get a certificate? Honestly? They hand them out by the dozens for absolutely everything. Not a word of a lie, on the last day of classes I actually got a certificate from my History teacher (Who also fancies herself a comedian) Congratulating me on "Outstanding contrubution to making Chloe feel like the bestest friend in the whole wide world"

I'M NOT LYING DAMN IT! Heck I could scan it and put it right on my user page if I wanted you to believe me. Thing is, I just don't care that much. ~.^

Also, someone stole my good pencil crayons. I am very pissed, since they're the super expensive three bucks a pop kind you only get the privilage of using if someone(like my insane and independantly wealthy friend) buys them for you since you're WAY to smart to pay that much. Because of this tragedy, I've taken up watercolor again, which my prove interesting.

One other random thing. A buch of friends and were at a sleep-over last night and ended up pondering the meaning of our lives in the big scheme of things over hotdogs at one in the morning. A note for anyone out there who has never wondered about their own existance-it's a very depressing activity really. When you stop to realize that humanity is nothing more that a speck of dust compared to what's out there, and that even if we were to bring about a perfect world of peace and prosparity(Heh, as if) we're still all dead when the sun inevitably explodes, it'll be like we never existed...yeah, depressing. That's why I try to focus on more trivial things-like Full Metal Alchemist, which is coming on in five minutes!

It's amazing how when you're little, you dread getting socks for your birthday, but once you're sixteen it's 'Oooooh! SOCKS!" At least...that's how it is with me and my friends.

KLCVI didn't get into sears, but oh well. We did alright anyway! And I missed two days of school! Next year I think I'll write a play though, since the edjudicators seem to like student-written plays. AND IT SHALL ROCK!....uh...any ideas on what to write on would be helpful by the way!

By brother is dating my best friend...and I'm still single...ouch. Could my life be anything more like a shoujo manga? No. I don't think so no. Oh the dramatic irony of it all! -.- Maybe that's what I'll write my play on, how crappy it is to be sixteen and single while your evil twin dates your best freind...dang, I'm patheic arren't I? Well pathetic's okay!

Hmm...what else to say....school bites. Math is evil, and Mr. Rivers dosen't like my essay writing form. Thus I have a lower-than-usual grade, and my dad's being more of an asshole than usual. Just two more years, just two more years and I can go to college an leave this sad little town behind me. yaaaay. Note scarcasm.

Hm, Guess I'll stop writing now since I'm in a very blah mood, and it's showing. Tah tah darlings!
