Now the real surprise: I took part on the

contest, and the theme was changing. The way DBZ characters have changed through the years, be inwardly or outwardly. I had this old idea [link] for the contest and I sent it - just for the fun, since I wasnÂ´t actually much satisfied with the work (incredibly, it took me more time and work than expected, and I was in a hurry to finish it, so it was posted with some unnoticed flaws). Not to mentioning that I already took part in many contests (including here on DA) with elaborated works that never gained anything- when much, were classified.

But now I won.

I did it, hahaha!!

Moral of the story: you never can tell. ThatÂ´s the real fun of life.

Other good new is that IÂ´m finally getting a job again, after practically one year unemployed. IÂ´m a little scared, since of the schools IÂ´m going to work is a little... troubled (the kids seem to be a little aggressive, letÂ´s say). But at least IÂ´m back to work. And IÂ´m planning to make commissions, too. Still had no time to open my Paypal account, but I plan. So, if anyoneÂ´s interested, you may start thinking what would you like I would draw. Yay!

Incredible, isnÂ´t it? Worse, sheÂ´s insisting, insisting, insisting and insisting that itÂ´s too much of a coincidence and acusing me of having stolen my work. And she called me a LIAR! ;_;

I admit that the coincidence is strong - and, to get worse, her work is older. And I understand sheÂ´s upset, because I already had my fanfics stolen - once, a girl posted my DBZ fic "The Sheep and the Hedgehog" on DA and told everyone I was her friend and have gave her the ideas to write that! But then, I had to proof the fic I was mine!

I have no way how to proof, saving the fact that, for you who have been watched my work in years, I always had ideas on my own and never had the need to steal others.

Something good, finally, after two very stressful weeks... my work at school isnÂ´t doing well, the kids have been very agressive and the head of school think itÂ´s my fault theyÂ´re not behaving. I even thought of dropping it, but many people, including my family and work colleagues, have said DONÂ´T GIVE UP! So, IÂ´m still on the run, like Naruto, at least untill IÂ´ll get a better job. IÂ´ve been wanting to do this for a while. Since I entered on DA, IÂ´ve seen many animations here, ones great, others... reasonable. IÂ´m not featuring nobody for being my friend (actually, I know just one or two of these authors), IÂ´m recommending these small movies purely for quality and entertainment.

Hope I wonÂ´t goof it... anything to fix, just tell me.

1. Birds of a Feather [link] by

A simple, yet captiving story, with a mesmerizing visual, and some touches of humour. Maybe I havenÂ´t seem much yet of the animations posted in this site, but IÂ´m sure this will always be between the best ones!

2.Rendez-vouz with the Creator [link] by :!XxGoku-is-the-Ukex: Unluckily, the author is no longer in this site. This is simply hilarious! The first times I watched it, I couldnÂ´t stop cracking out.

Remembers a little some old Bugs Bunny Cartoons. (obs: to make the animation continue, you have to push the button at right)

3. Sakura Dream [link] , by

Maybe sheÂ´ll disagree, but for me thatÂ´s her best animation till now. Hilarious and surprising.

4. Gift of Ages [link] by

A very original vision of Christmas. I like especially the textures of the forms.

5. Zen Red[link] by

Unlike the others, this is not exactly a movie. The author made a serie of simple, yet very creative animations for TV.

I plan to add more, within time.

First: I finally finished my mother´s site! Hallellujah!

I thought I´d never see the day, but it has came at last... it´ll make 2 years since I took webpages classes (only basic) and started struggling with html stuff.

It´s a garden page. Unluckily, only in Portuguese, yet. (we´re Brazilians) But I hope that´ll be a matter of time until it´ll have its English version. We´re very proud, my family and I, and we have received many compliments, especially from mom´s friends and acquaintances. That´ll make us known, and increase the interest for her work, we hope.

The good new 2 is that I´m going to get a job this week. My classes start Thursday, that´ll take all my afternoons but Friday and the weekends (yet, some Saturdays I´ll have to go for special events). So, my already small time on-line will get probably a little shorter. Pity there are no cybers near the school! But anyway, that´s the price to pay. After 2 years showing curriculums at schools and receiving nos because "I wasn´t (officially) experienced enough", this is a victory. Along with the page stuff, these are two.

A outra boa notícia é que finalmente vou começar a dar aulas nesta quinta-feira. Serão todas as tardes, menos sexta e fins-de-semana (e mesmo assim, haverão alguns sábados ocupados com eventos). Por isso, meu tempinho já curto on-line vai ficar mais curto ainda... pena q não haja lan-houses perto da escola! :tearful: Mas é o preço a pagar. Depois de dois anos distribuindo curriculos em colégios e sendo rejeitada por "não ter experiência suficiente", considero isso uma vitória. Duas, junto com o site.

Luckily, with my mom´s help (like always), things got a little lighter. We´re working on her future home page again, so that gives me an excuse to spend more than an hour, but I try not abuse. In one thing my steppie is right, our light bills have been high, though I think the hours he spends watching TV also help a lot.

Oh well...

Haven´t much time to rent computers, either, or even to afford it, but that´s for a good new: I´m finally getting a job! :cheerful: I was approved to give art lessons in a public school (there are two ways of getting a job in Brazil: one is getting hired by private companies and two studying for concourses in order to work in public institutions). The bad thing is that they demand lots of papers and medical exams, and that has demanded a lot of time and of our money... My family has helped me in this, but it has been hard for my mom. She already confessed she has felt like Rapunzel, stuck at home be these last 2 weeks. But I´m more optimistic, now. Perhaps, now I can gather enough to afford a flat monitor, heard those ones don´t spend too much energy. I feel like the dark clouds are finally going away to show the sun. (damn, didn´t that thing have an Optimistic mood? Ok, I´ll get the tired one. I´m really tired, anyway)

I hope to add more stuff for this gallery soon, especially UG stuff. But God knows when I´ll have some little money left for that!

I´m both happy and sad this morning. Happy because I finally finished "Bulma is", just couldn´t put it down, and it´s already having success. I´m also happy because of the recent arrival of a dear friend, :devMajinLú:, to DA. I recommend her art, it´s very good!

Sad because of the death of our little puppy, Cacau (Cocoa). :sad: a happy half-pincher, half-Daschund puppy, recent aquisition of my parents. She went ill three days ago, but it was like being caught by a lightning. My parents did everything they could to save her, but she died last night, and, though they don´t talk much about it, I know they´re grieving. I´m sad for Cacau, but I suffer especially for them. :tearful:

But, the title is not because of this. That´s a thing only time can help healing. Changing subject (that might look horrible, but anyway...) , I´m needed of models for some fan arts projects. I´d like to know if anybody here knows where I could find some avatar pictures _ especifically, from that princess that loved Sokka and became the Moon.

The second is some pictures of Nodame Cantabile - not the characters, but the piano scenes. Actually, it doesn´t need to be the Anime, if I could get some pictures of people playing piano, by close and a little farther, I would be very happy. Want to make some UG illustration, but hands are one of the most difficult things for me.

Any indication where I can get these images, I´ll be very grateful.

Not big deal... Just making a new display. It´ll look more fair that way.

Well, many things have happened this week. Including the arrival of a big friend of mine to deviantart, and a new that filled me with dismay.

I´ve been watching

for almost one year, or at least hoping she would show more of her wonderful works. Now, this morning I discovered with shock that she´s leaving DA for good... she´s tired of having her works stolen by others, and, to get even better, DA deleted one of them, acusing her of PLAGIUM OF HER OWN WORK!! :shock:

Is it or not a reason to make anybody mad? Honestly, I´m very disapointed about the adms injustice and stupidity. And the cynism of some so-called artists. Just wanted to make my protest and give my sympathy to Giovanna.

Well, now a good new... Because of many personal issues, I haven´t much time to work in my recent fan arts. Too many stuff to do, especially activities including computer. So, I´ll be posting some of my non fan art work.

I´ve been hesitating of posting more of this, after "Chimarrão" and those 2 couple woodcuts. Not only because I´m planning to mount my own site for this kind of stuff, and for other personal reasons, too. But then, the comments of some friends (thanks, mystumpf, Goblinqueen and Vegvisir!

) made me see I was wrong. So, pen and ink will rule!

Well, summer is finally coming to end here in Brazil - thanks to Lord! Thanks to world overheating, and the ozoniun hole -right over South America - our summers are getting unbearably hot. To get even better,
my bedroom/studio gets in the side of sun by afternoon... two years before, I still had some protection, until a storm put our oak tree down. Now I´m practically expelled from my bedroom until night comes, save in rainy days. I never thought in my life I would come to love a rainy day!

Well, this yadda-yadda summer is just to say that there´s more fan arts coming soon... I recently have some drawns scanned. And I´m entusiasted, now that I´ve finally learned the secret of coloring with Photoshop, thanks to

great lining tutorial.

However, that might take a little... with summer ending, I´ll get a little busy, too. I have to study in order to get a public job in a contest, and I also have to plan the art courses I´m going to give in March, while I can´t get a real job. Not mentioning that, now my brother is leaving his own job he´ll probably spend more time on our computer (read monopolize it), until College starts again. So, if I´ll disappear someday, you already know.

Now, I didn´t give up on that idea of a separate faving gallery only for tutorials. I know, I know, we can find the tuts through Categories, etc, etc. But, let´s admit these buttons never find all the tuts you´re looking for, unlike what the menu insinuates. And it would help to organize a little our gallery of favorites - at least mine is already too big. Many times I feel honestly guilty of faving something, and also worried that they´ll want me to subscribe in order to keep faving. I CAN´T afford a subscription by now, I can´t.

Well... if you´re interested in this idea, please let me know, and tell your friends, too. Maybe if we can get enough people, the adms will think of that.

Now, going to the unpleasant issue.

When this year started, along with my deviantart account, I opened another in paperdemon.com. I always thought of it as a great site, there´s a lot of good work there, and I liked the owner. That happened until they opened their comics section. I enthused at this, for I wouldn´t have only Dev to post the English versions of Remembrances and my UG comics.

However, when I first tried to post there, they told me I first had to post a cover, and only then the pages, these are the rules. What?! I said, do I have to make a cover even for a simple two paged-comic? Yes, it was the respost. Since the comics are displayed on thumbnails in a gallery, the little images don´t look good, a cover would make the work more professional. It´s a beautiful explanation, makes all sense, but... well, I think honestly that if the artist wants to make his/her work look better, it´s up to him/her. I explained this, and also that I had finished my comics before learning about the rules and I didn´t want to alterate them. Then, they said I could simply to make a collage of the characters´ faces, it was no big deal (for them); if I hadn´t time enough to do it (read: L-A-Z-Y), then there were people who could make this for me in a very professional way, what sounds even worse.

I tried, as politely as my boiling temper allowed me, to explain the owner of the site that I hated to change my work just to make it fit there - especially Remembrances, whose title is already on the first page, thus what´s the need of a cover?
And that their system wasn´t working well to short comics - I had noticed that one-paged ones where still posted on the Arts section. Why it was so difficult to make the use of a cover optional?

Finally, she said she would think about this... or at least, I understood that (duuuh). So I posted Remembrances there, using the first page as the... the blessed cover, even if I had to repeat it. Guess what? I received a message this morning (I thought it was the owner again, but actually, I learned later, it was one of the adms) that said they didn´t understand why I didn´t want a cover... and they sent me THIS [link] for use. "If you don´t want to use it´s ok, if you prefer that your work appear as a "confused black and white mass in thumbnail". My eyes spat fire and my ears sent spreads of smoke. Why, they thought that stupid collage, that had nothing to do with the spirit of my work, that was better to display in their precious gallery! I finally lost my temper and said things... very rude things.
And I took all my works from their gallery, as much as it costs me. I´m absolutely fed up of trying to be an adult and reasoning to brick walls.

I don´t know what´s so wrong with comics in thumbnail... I like to see them, just like they are displayed here, it makes me want to see how they look in their real size and to read them. I don´t think they look a "confuse mass of black and white" as thumbnails. Y´know, sometimes I thought that dev´s system could be better, when it comes to long fics and comics... but at least, here we have the liberty of posting the second ones at the way we please, no matter if it´s one simple strip or an epic adventure. If we want to post a cover, it´s up to us.

Now I´d like to know what do you think, sincerely. Even if you think I´m overreacting, I´d like to hear. At the end of this morning, I thought of Michelangelo, and how he must have felt when the Pope had another artist "dressing" Michel´s naked figures in the Systin Chapel. My friend and supporter

has made a great updatting at our club Unseen Genius (see first icon below, at the Clubs group), and I recommend anybody who´s a Phantom of the Opera fan, (and also who doesn´t, why not?) to check on it.

I finally finished my contribution "Vegeta is" to

page... and I´m doing a UG comic I have some hope to release next week, with luck. (usually when I say a fanart or fanfic of mine will come soon, it eventually take months to get ready for this or another reason. A sort of plague, I think)

Thanks for everybody who´s sent me confort words, both for the computer situation and for my stepdad, too. *heart* He´s completely recovered now... he´s even driving, and making us crazy, like always.

For now on, I´ll mark the fan arts I´ve done for Unseen Genius with a big UG, to avoid keep saying "This is another fan art I did for Unseen genius, blabla". (of course, I´ll still have to put some explaining for the ones who didn´t read the story, but avoids the annoyance for my friends who know what I´m talking about!)

My bro exhamined it yesterday, and it was what we´ve suspected, something on the "source" had burned. Just one component, but now my brother keeps saying that perhaps instead just replacing the burned comp we should buy a new source, instead... that might take weeks. :ripshair:

But, for another turn, that also gave us lots of concern... they had to mark a new assignment, it supposed to be Thrusday and ended up on Friday, instead. And even if it´s not something grave (prostata) you always get worried. My mom and I practically didn´t sleep the night of the operation, and Saturday morning I had a headache. Annoying or not, he´s the only father I knew, and deep down he´s a good person. Anyway, he´s allright now, and he´ll probably be back on Wednesday, or a bit later.

I´m happy that one of my long-forum friends, Shaka, has come for the Deviant. I recommend his wonderful work, especially if you´re a Saint Seiya fan.
