When I logged into DA again, I had 185 Hot Topics, Miscellaneous, Comments, and Journals. Ooooooops! I'm trying to work my way through them, but it's going to take a while. I'll try to reply to everyone as soon as I can. And hopefully upload some new artwork soon. Must do some more Avatar related pic (ASN has an interesting contest running). Some non-Avatar pic are also in the works.

Pumpkin time will be coming soon, then turkey time...and then OMG how many shopping days is it until Christmas? You'all have a happy fall!

I think of this latest problem of the lame hand, as a learning experience. Since I wasn't able to draw with my right hand as well, as my left, I was forced to find a new way of drawing. In the end that was a good thing. (There's nothing like becoming stuck in a rut, and not knowing it.) There was a quote from a movie (Conan, maybe?) that said "That which does not kill you, makes you stronger." Oh yeah!

Of course, my left hand is still in a brace (getting better and better), and while I can control a mouse with my right hand, a pen is out of the question. So it might be a little while before I can use the tablet. But, things are definately looking up!

The bad news is: That about two weels ago, I was doing digital drawing on the computer, and overdid it. Now my left arm isn't working right. Since I'm left handed, no more digital drawing for me. And...since I've got a brace on my left wrist, no more drawing in the old sketchbook either. So, hopefully this will improve soon (last time it took six weeks), or I'll have to learn to draw with my right hand.

I have improved to the point where I can use the mouse with my right hand, and type a little. So I'll be trying to catch up with my messages. But I'm afraid it will be slow, and I apologize if my answers are short.

Yahoo! We just got high speed internet, and what a difference. I'm SO happy! Of course, while downloading people's galleries, I won't have time to play Sudoku, but I can live with that.

I finished my entry for 's contest. Yea! Recently I'd been offline while working on that contest entry, figuring that I wouldn't get many comments because I wasn't uploading anything new. Silly me, when I got back on deviantART I had about 80 comments. Thank you for the all the comments and favs!

I don't have to dream, I'm sitting at the computer, and watching snow blow horizontally past the window (possible 12 to 24 inches). And because there's another storm on the way, it does look like we'll have a white Christmas. I'm not one of those organized people who start shopping for Christmas presents in January, so...this plays havoc with the last minute shopping. Hey kids will you take IOUs!

It's good to be home, even though we had a wonderful time on our vacation.

We traveled to Cortez, CO (Mesa Verde Ntl. Park), and from there to Moab, UT (Arches Ntl. Park & the Canyonlands). Managed to avoid a major storm which swept through the area. Took lots of pictures, in fact 290 of them. Having a digital camera encourages this kind of behavior. I'm currently deciding which to keep & which to delete, and I might post a couple of them in my gallery.

It's nice to be back in my own home, with family & friends close by, & access to the internet again!

Starting on tomorrow on Oct. 18th we'll be on vacation. Since the weatherman seems to think that we might get our 1st snow of the season on that day. We might delay our departure for a couple of days. (I just looked out the window and it's snowing) But so what! I'm planning on enjoying this no matter what comes.

The downside to this is:
1. I'll miss the grandchildren (and my kids).
2. I don't have access to the internet when we travel, so I'll be gone for a while.

The upside to returning is:
1. Seeing the grandchildren again.
2. Seeing all the wonderful deviations that were posted when I was gone.

What can I say, I love to draw, but I'm a lousy writer.

When my kids were young, we played Chutes and Ladders. Now they're all grown up and my daughter tells me, I must.....first watch Avatar, and second join deviantART. This is better than Chutes and Ladders any old day. And, I must thank my daughter for saving my artistic life. I hadn't realized how much I missed seeing wonderful new artwork, and communicating with other artists. Talk about being stuck in a rut, and not even knowing it! I'm online more than I've ever been in my life, going from about once a month to almost every day, and enjoying every minute. SO THANK YOU TO MY WONDERFUL, CHARMING, LOVELY, PUSHY DAUGHTER!
