So the guy I mentioned in my last journal entry came through on the tablet, and I ordered it yesterday after work. My UPS e-mail says that it ought to arrive next friday. I'm hoping that I'll take to it quickly, and perhaps be able to open commissions sometime in January or February if anyone is interested. They won't be expensive. It'll just give me something to do between work and classes. How many I take on will depend on my class workload too, as I start a new semester on January 5th.

We'll see how it goes, though.

Got commissioned (tentatively) by a guy at work for some D&D portraits. He wants them digital to make my life difficult (why will DeviantART not let me use strikethrough on this, fffffff), but he also suggested that he would buy me (or at least go halves) on a digital tablet if I did it digital, so I can't really say no. I'll also get Photoshop on top of it from him, so it's not a bad deal. We'll see where that goes, though. I plan to buy the tablet this friday, if all goes well. Hopefully Wacom doesn't fuck me over this close to the holidays. Will not be a happy cupcake.

Anyway, whatever.

I knew that we'd eventually get an idiot in one of our PUG Headless Horseman groups, but for fuck's sake.

We first picked up Fail Rogue from Dalaran as a DPS for our run. Everything was going fairly well, but Fail Rogue kept bitching about my method for the run. I told the entire group this: the mount was need, as were the laughing helmet, the sword that summons the pumpkin guards, and anything needed for the title (the pet or the helm). You also needed to link, in party chat, either the quest OR the quest item so we knew you had a summon. Apparently, he didn't like the last point.

When we got to the instance, the quest log was bugging. Everyone had the quest, but it wasn't showing as having [4] people on it. It was always one less. I told the group that it had done that once before, and :iconmisticmonk:, who was running with me, knew that it had. The day prior, actually. Sometimes the log just DOES that.

Fail Rogue flipped his shit. He accused me of trying to scam the group, and dropped group. I rolled my eyes and just asked everyone if they wanted to continue as a four-man, or get another DPS in to sub. (The healer eventually found one of HIS rogue friends, who was x32423472342 better than Fail Rogue.)

Not long after that, I see Fail Rogue trying to smear my name in General chat, saying that I was trying to get a 'free ride', and telling people not to group with me. Cute, I thought. I had tanked this fight more times than he'd probably even SEEN it, and he was going to tell people not to group with me. Yeah, okay. I let it go nonetheless, and told my group that to put any fears to rest, I would summon first.

Right before I was about to, Fail Rogues whispers me with this: "U should be more intelligent if you are going to try and scam people".

Oh-ho-ho, is that so?

I told them, "I'm reporting you for harassment. Have a nice day," blocked them, screencapped the entire thing, and off we went.

All in all, our group went well. The healer hit a lag spike and I lost my summon due to a wipe, but one of us in the group had never done it before, so she was able to summon him twice. On the last summon, the sword dropped, and the rogue passed it to me. I guess for losing out on the loot from my summon. Sub Rogue also won the rogue ring that dropped on a prior roll.

Moral of this story? I hate idiots, and if you fuck with me, you'll get bit. I normally wouldn't have had anything to do with this idiot after I blocked them, but I had a feeling that I wasn't the only one he'd done this to, and decided to go through with it.

And I'm comforted by the fact that Fail Rogue lost out on any loot, including the sword and the ring he could've used. That's what happens when you're a dick.

I started class on thursday, and omfg, juggling work and class is going to be harrrrrrd. I have class monday through friday.

Monday, wednesday, friday: 10 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.: Math and Abnormal Psychology
Tuesday and thursday: 3:30 p.m. - 4:50 p.m.: Micro computer concepts (easy class)

And I also have an online class, Business Communications, but it doesn't begin until September 17th. As of right now, I work Monday, wednesday, and friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. AAAAAUGH IT MAKES ME CRAZY.

But I'm starting to draw more often, so that's good. I already need another sketch book. :C *sadface* I got one from the college bookstore that's really nice, though. I usually don't like the ones that flip open from the top, but this one has nice, thick paper, which is great for the marker works I do. Glee. :heart:

I just proceeded to delete almost half of my gallery on a whim, and because a lot of my old art made the Silvey go :<, so I figured it was about time I got rid of a lot of it. And while I was doing this, I noticed that my style has changed drastically along the years. I started the character Silver Feathers back in '05 or '06, and he's gone through a lot of transformations since he first began as a regular ol' black mage. And then, after stumbling on a very old, very shitty version of my Zurn from back when I was 13, I realized that I really don't give myself enough credit when it comes to my art. It's been a very long road through hell in the last six years, and my art has been there with me since the beginning. My anatomy has improved greatly (such as I no longer make arms waaaay longer than they should be), and I'm no longer limited to just headshots (I remember back when that's *all* I would do). I get into art slumps a lot, but in the end, I really need to know that my talent has come a long way, and that I'm not as bad at what I do as I seem to think I am.

This was all spawned by a long comment thread on LJ. Go figure. It's also inspired me to try to draw a little more, since I've really been wanting to lately, but haven't really had the motivation. I ought to develop the skill while I have it. It may come in handy, someday. If all else fails, I still have my art. My art is therapy, as well, and with my stress levels getting increasingly higher, I've noticed I've become a hell of a lot more irritable, lately. I think drawing my emotions, like I used to, will really help to reign in my temper, and make me a calmer person over-all. I tend to get a little crazy when I don't draw for a long period of time, and I think that time has come.

Anyway. Maybe some art in the near future. Maybe..

A lot has happened since I last updated this journal. I recently moved in with my mother and Gram to go to college, and got kicked out of the old house that I was living in with Dad by my Grandpa. (Yeah, he's a real peach.) Dad's getting married in April, so he's living with his girlfriend now. My relationship with my mother still sucks, but last I checked, WE WEREN'T ON DR. PHIL. SHUT UP, SILVEY.

Anyway. Having lost most of my shit in the move, I'm still trying to piece together my life here. I have boxes of crap to go through, and with me starting classes today, I won't have much time for organized drawings. If we're lucky, I'll be able to find my scanner drivers online (Okay, so I have one, but it's broke-ed), and I'll be able to post some college doodles every now and then.

College. Whoa. Holyshit.

Also, I got a laptop for Christmas, so YAY FOR COMPUTER THAT DOESN'T SUCK.

Everyone give love to . She was in a car accident (not severe, thankfully) yesterday, and she deserves some love. :heart:

I went to see Disturbia yesterday, as well. I recomend seeing it. Don't listen to the people, especially critics, who say it sucks. It's better than they give it credit for. I just wonder how it got rated as PG-13. They must have changed the guidelines, because a lot of the material can definately push it up to an R rating. I don't have any complaints, though.

And I've been considering opening up reallyreally cheap commissions, just for a little extra cash. Nothing would go over five or ten dollars, depending. Maybe not even that. Would anyone be interested if I gave it a shot? I would be willing to do anthro, human, animal portraits, and fantasy art. (Tattoo designs as well, but we'd have to talk.) My materials are limited to pastel, colored pencils, and markers. Payment would have to be concealed cash to my residency.

I've been asked by a few people to try commissions, so there you go. If anyone's interested, reply here. If I get some interested people, I will put up prices, and such.

I. CANNOT. DO. DIGITAL. ART. I do not have the means to. I plan to get a tablet (that works) one day in the future, but for now, ALL ART IS TRADITIONAL MEDIA.
