Okay - so London Expo is next week...

I'll be there. Photoshoots Saturday and Sunday with other cosplayers. In the masquerade Saturday and Sunday.

I don't usually do this, mass advertise, but this forums needs it.

Kosaka Academy RP Board

Is currently being run by me and Mookie, while its actual admin has gone AWOL. Unfortunately, because the admin has gone AWOL it means a lot of the members have too. Which sucks a lot.

So. WE NEED MEMBERS.

The board is a good little board, and it can be REALLY good fun when its active. You can have any many characters as you want. Here's the premise:

2016: The Year of Change"


So read the headline of every major newspaper in the world. Political officials from across the globe gathered together to discuss what was once a problem: Meta-Humans, humans each granted with a unique ability, usually the result of rapidly changing genes, making them quite literally beyond human. They were feared, rejected by those deemed normal.

And yet, with the years, this fear slowly began to abate and Meta-Humans were slowly being accepted into the world. And it was then that the world's governments held their first conference to discuss how they could further acclimate Meta-Humans into society.

Though disaster was not far off. The body of nineteen-year-old Sarah Kent was found on the eve of the conference's second meeting. She was the only daughter of American Senator, William Kent. All clues pointed to a Meta-Human by the name of Landon Kelley. He was arrested and later executed. Riots ensued and thousands of Meta-Humans and normal humans alike were killed.

To help quell some of the violence and promote goodwill among the incensed Meta-Human population, the small island of Kosaka was selected and building began. Almost a year later, Kosaka Academy opened it's doors for the first time. It was the school's mission to provide a peaceful haven for Meta-Human children, where they could grow and learn to control their powers so that they could lead the way for their kind's future.

It was, in all appearances, a brilliant idea. Now the year is 2019. A new year is beginning at Kosaka Academy. Will you be among the chosen Meta-Humans to grace the halls of this prestigous school?

I'm back from MinamiCon and had a blast!

Cause I hadn't updated since the beginning on December.

So what is happening in the life of Silver?

Not a huge amount. Work as usual, though I have a week off this week. I'm not too busy, so I'll be using a lot of time to get cosplays done as usual. Haha.
I'm going for an induction at the local gym this week, my sister's poking me to come along because they have a kick boxing class and she wants someone to spar with. Plus it would be nice to get into shape this year.

Cosplays are going pretty well. Alchmeist Rikku has been scrapped, so I'm working on Warrior Rikku instead. Its early days but I think it'll be pretty good. Thats the hope at least. There are lots of fiddly details and stuff on it so... we'll see.
I'm also going to try and make her sword, which will be a new experience. I've never made BIG props before.

My first convention of the year is coming up in March. Minami con! I'm already very excited about it. Two of my cosplays for that are finished. I need to make Eternal Sailor Jupiter to make it a hatrick for the weekend. ^^
Tactics Aeris was finished over the Christmas period, though I'm staring at the shirt chewing my knuckle half the time because I'm a bit iffy about the collar and cuffs.
I'm sure it'll be fine though.
Feena was finished way back in Septemeber, so no work needed. Just need to brush the wig. Heh. ^^

I'm rather excited for cosplays this year, and conventions. I'm thinking this year will be better than the last. I'm working at looking after myself, rather than looking after everyone else.

I'm writing more. My story which seems to be turning into a book is... making me happier than you can possibly imagine. You have no idea how nice it is to write for long periods again, about something you really enjoy writing about.Its great to be able to do that again. Drawing is still a struggle, but I'm trying and I'll keep trying. C:

Twenty-two. I don't want to be twenty-two. I wanted to be eighteen for the rest of my life. The idea of getting older sucks hard! T^T

So what have I been doing...
Aside from injuring myself so I couldn't actually MOVE for three days, not a lot.
I've discovered Twilight... well - discovered. I decided to give it a read to see what all the fuss is about.
I actually enjoy the books.
So if you're an anti-Twilight fan please keep your damn opinions to yourself. I'm not saying its a literary master piece, but I enjoy it for what it is.
Respect my opinion, I'll respect yours and we'll all get along perfectly fine.
Trust me.

Because everyone else is doing it, here's a list of up coming cosplays.. *coughs*

Final Fantasy Tactics Aerith - Aside from a couple of things this is nearly finished. So yays!

Xianghua Chai, Soul Calibur 3 - Main sewing is done, detail time! Looking forward to wearing it though. FINALLY, A COMFY COSPLAY! <3

Alchemist Rikku, Final Fantasy X-2 - A fair bit of work needs to be done on this. Taking things in, and sewing buttons on and the like, but it should take too... long. The biggest and most daunting task are the gloves and boots. T^T

Eternal Sailor Jupiter - I need to get a pattern and material for this. x___x haha. I need to have it done by March. T^T

Songstress Yuna - making this for a friend. Again, for March (technically her Christmas present, but she needs to be there when I make it and she doesn't have a free weekend until after the new year!

I figured I should get the pre-Expo journal off my page, seeing as the Expo was nearly two weeks agao. T-T

It was a good Expo. For a lot of reasons. I had more fun that the Expo just gone, than I have at any other Expo (AmeCOn is not included. AmeCon is s con, and it rocked).

I'm working on reports of both days that will be going up on CosSpot in a few weeks, once they, and the photos are finished.

Speaking of which:
Photos from shoots I did are getting done slowly but surely. I have All of Saturday's done from the Saturday FF shoot and my Devil May Cry shoot, and also have a quarter or so of Sunday's FF shoot done.
I'll be doing the photos from general pictures and stuff from Saturday once the shoots are out of the way.

They'll be going up on CosSpot shortly. In the mean time, I'm putting a few up on my photo account: *Silver-Photos so go check them out if you can't wait. ^^

Cause I've seen a few other people doing this, I just want to lay down some very simple rules for the up coming Expo.

One For the love of GOD - NO GLOMPING.
You will be severely bitchslapped if you glomp me.
I don't mind hugs if you ask. But I have issues with people touching me and I like my personal space as uninvaded as possible.
Add to this that on Saturday I'm not wearing much and Sunday I'm wearing four inch heels and glomping will probably cause to to either freak out or to fall over. Neither of which I would like to do.

Two Yes. I am taking a camera, but it is my choice who I photograph. If I come up to you and ask for a photo and you say no I will totally respect that. But I'll be less likely to photograph common cosplays (so no Bleach or Naruto cosplayer photos will there be. Or Kingdom Hearts, probably).

Three I'm happy to pose for photos. But if you see me and it looks like I'm going somewhere please don't ask just then as it'll probably me heading to the bathroom, a shoot or somewhere else. If I'm just walking fairly casually then my all means. :]

Four I'm quite shy. I come off sometimes as fairly standoffish because I am shy and it takes me a good while to warm up to the atmosphere, so if I seem a bit abrupt please don't take it as rudeness, its just how I am to start off with. Once I'm calmer, I'm quite chatty and will happy have a conversation with you.

Five If anyone touches my headcones there will be blood shed.

Gosh, its been a while since a decent update.

Well - I haven't been up to much to be fair. Just work and the like.

The biggest thing I have to update with is a new website. Yes. Another one.

But this one I am DETERMINED to keep up with.

I managed to get it uploaded an mostly completed last weekend, and now all the links are up, and I've updated it today. I thought now might be a good time to pimp it out.

So I give you: CosSpot.
I know the name is a bit lame; but its something I've been planning on doing for months and I'm really happy to actually have it up.
Its a cosplay website, obviously. It features my cosplays, and also interviews with other cosplayers I admire (or who are my friends. ^^)

Its not very flashy, but I like it.


Oh yes, October Expo.
That weekend I am going to be busy and tired.
I have Video Games Live on the Friday night, the MCM Ball on Saturday, and I'm going out with friends on Sunday! Silver is going to be lacking lots of sleep.
So, Video Games Live I'll be wearing my Rogue (Ragnarok Online).
Saturday will be Feena (Grandia) and I'll be photographing like a madwoman (I loves my new camera).
Sunday will be Sailor Jupiter, and I'll be photographing a lot again.
If you're in a Final Fantasy cosplay either day, come along to the FF shoots on both days.
Saturday is 12:30 and Sunday is 1pm - both outside the Excel hall, near the stairs. I'll be outside from about 11:30, so just look for the girl with the green wig and headcones.

I'm going to the ball... possibly against my better judgement, but we'll see.
I'll be wearing Amano Aerith again, with new shoes that are suitable for the cosplay and that I completely and utterly ADORE because I made them and they're so cute!

I got an entry in the guest book for this a couple of days ago, and I guess it annoyed me.

Lisa - I don't know who you are, but here's an answer for you, as you found Nexys via by dA.
I work. I have a social life, I have health problems which mean I have to sleep a lot. I get very little time to work on projects. I just about find time to fit in my cosplay, socialising, eating, seeing my family and other slightly mundane tasks.
Work and sleep take up most of my time.

Evil-Hippo is a collective site, it will not get updated very often because that's where everything is housed. The Lost Realms... is a DEAD site, ergo I do not update it.

As for Nexus - I made a new layout, and now no longer like it. Too fiddly, go figure. I'm fickle like that.
I'm trying to work on a new layout, and likewise, I'm trying to rewrite Nexus. All of it. Because I don't like the story as it is at the moment.

Okay? Get me now? Nexus - none of my sites are my top priority. I'm sorry if my inactivity disappoints you, but life gets in the way sometimes.
As do other interests. I try to work on Nexus, I really do, but sometimes my interest towards it wains. I put a lot of time into cosplay, because I enjoy it, and it keeps me occupied.

Never mind the fact I've had a drought in writing and artwork for the two or three months.

Anyway - I'm trying to work on Nexus. I will probably start uploading it on here anyway, and will do a new, smaller site when the mood takes me, and when I have some decent artwork to use.

Dear Internet,

You suck for not being able to find me lace-up ankle boots.

Anyone know a site I can get lace up ankle boots, with a small-ish heel (well... four inches ideally, as I need to hit 5'6" for this cosplay? and I'm only 5'2" (yes, yes. Short Silver is short).

I've looked on ebay and the only think I can find thats close are these ugly coverse-high heel cross breeds.
I don't mind if they're lace up exactly... I would just prefer them to be. If they aren't then I can glue laces on...

I just... yeah... Need shoes for Sailor Jupiter.

Hi everyone.

I need help.

I'm torn between who to wear at the Expo in October.

Originally it was set to me Rydia on Saturday, Sailor Jupiter on Sunday and Amano Aerith for the ball.
Majoritably this has not changed. Sailor Juptier and Aeris are still set for Sunday and the ball.

However, Saturday is now up in the air.

Rydia is one I've worn twice already this year and in fairly quick succession. The versions I wore were different, but its still the same character three times in a year and fairly soon between each other. I'm currently reworking version 3, and would really like to wear that sometime next year, and not mix and match it with version 2 as I would have to do in October.

The one I'm debating wearing is Feena from Grandia.
Feena I've remade the top and just need to do a little work on the boots and skirt to make it more in keeping. I need a new wig and need to remake the headcones and dangles, but that's not hard. The reason I'm swaying towards this is because I wore her for all of three hours at AmeCon and those three hours MADE my weekend due to the reception I got wearing Feena...

So... here's the thing, I need some help deciding so put your votes on the poll and much love will be given for commented input. :3

Welp, I figured it'd be good to get the AmeCon journal off the front cause it was so long.

Plans of sorts for the next few... how ever long. ^^

I would like to start drawing again. Even doodling. I tried drawing today and just... failed. So I'm going to put a bit more time into drawing now.

In the cosplay world of things, cause lets face it, i don't talk about much else anymore... I have like, four cosplays on the go at the moment.
Rydia Drake from Final Fantasy IV DS version is well on the way. I've don the dress which has a few bits left to be sewn. And I've make the boot covers which need painting and detailing... which I need to get done before October as I made them over my normal Rydia boots and intend to wear them for the Expo in October.

I'm remaking my Feena from Grandia. I made the top in one night, and now just have to do the sleeve details. I love the sleeves on this version. They're huge and billowing!

Uhm... I have a pattern for Xianghua, from Soul Calibur 3, who I doing next May. I found the perfect pair of ballet pumps to manipulate, so will be buying them when payday hits and painting them that weekend I think. I will get the top started soon too.

And then there's Ailish. Ailish has been nearly finished for a while. I'm going to remake the shorts, and I have to get started on the armour soon... does anyone know where I can get sheets of A3 fun foam? I need some for her, because it'll be easier than manipulating sheets of A4. X___x

I have to get the material for Sailor Jupiter, who I'm doing on Sunday in October with my friends as Sailor Venus, Mars and Neptune, I think. Will be fun!
Not sure how I'm going to make the bodice bit... as it looks a bit weird... but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Anyway... that's all for me at the moment. I'm going to head off to bed now.

Long entry will be long. You have been warned. :B

So, AmeCon report.

Thursday:
We drove up on the Thursday evening. Wasn't a bad drive, the motorways were easy enough to navigate, we just got a little lost once we actually got to Leicester. However, we found our way to Nixon Court, and proceeded to unload the car.
Which as really, really fun(!)
After promptly arriving, eating and unpacking, we trundled to our rooms and slept.

Friday:
Woke up, showered, dressed. Myself as Rogue from Ragnarok Online, Mary as Red Mage Refia from Final Fantasy III and Lou as Beatrix from Final Fantasy IX. Walked the short distance to the University and proceeded to queue for registration. The registration line was actually quite fun. It went on for a while, and I was freezing for most of it (Rogue's don't wear much). But Mary gave me her Red Mage cloak for a bit, and we got to chatting with some other people in the queue. An Ailsa-chan appeared and we spoke to her a whole lot. And also to Leena(Lunar_Kitten). We saw some people in the queue which was fun, like Carrie(seraphim_cry) and her boyfriend Liam as Ruby and Blank from FFIX.

After getting inside (was lovely to be warm!) we sat for a while, had coffee and chatted and decided what to do. we were promptly joined by Jake (aka White-Leviathan) as Gensis from Crisis Core who sat and chatted for a while, which was fun! ^^
Descended on the games room, where Lou and Mary rocked on Guitar Hero, and I managed to somehow beat Mary and Jake on Soul Calibur (Soul Calibur 4 makes me want to by a 360 NOW! And this has also made me want to cosplay Xianghua.) As we waited for FFIX group to congregate, a Kyuu appeared and i got to speak to her for a little while. :3
Then we disappeared off with Carrie for the FFIX shoot.

Mary and I weren't taking part. We just watched. but it was a lot of fun just watching! It was an epic group, and some of the shots were really fun! And having two Zidane's in the party was just an added bonus! There was also two lovely Garnets, one in her ceremonial wear and one in her travelling outfit. Group was awesome. Lots and lots of fun shots were taken, and I can't wait to see the finished results.

After the shoot we generally wandered and pratted around for a bit. I had a lovely and really fun shoot with Carrie in the afternoon, and then the opening ceremony was set to begin. We were going to go to the opening ceremony, but as we were approaching we saw it was packed, and I didn't fancy going in. I disappeared off to the artists room to try a bit of doodling as I waited for Emily (CowgirlEm) to arrive. She arrived, a little frazzled after the drive and a mix up at Opal Court, but she arrived, safe and sound and in her sexah Blacksmith gear. With epic hammer of doom.

We disappeared with Mary and Lou and Rob to the green with the lettuce statue. Silly photos were taken of Rogue and Blacksmith fighting. The Emily and Rob stayed at the Uni, while Lou, Mary and I shuffled back to our accomodation.

We all ate, and changed into something more comfortable, though we kept on parts of our cosplay. I kept my Rogue coat, Louise kept her Beatrix coat and Mary had on some of her Yuna accessories, we disappeared to the campus again to attend the 80s AMV disco. Which was much fun, if slightly boiling. Pratted around dancing like lunatics for a few hours, then disappeared back to our accomodation to sleep. (Sleep is good).

Saturday:
Woke up veeeery early on Saturday morning to a deceptively nice morning. We all showered, and started getting ready. There was a minor accident involved my ankle and a razor and more blood than there actually was, but generally we were able to leave incident free. I was Rydia today, second remake of Rydia, complete with train of evil and dress of equal evil. Louise was LeBlanc, and recieved plenty of attention for it. And Mary was Yuna, so many, many Yuna vs. LeBlanc and Yuna massaging LeBlanc photos were taken.

First stop was the competition registration room were we had to go and be judged. It was fun. Leena was there as was Ailsa, so we had people to talk to, and proceeded to strike up random conversations with other cosplayers, including a lovely girl cosplaying Ashe in her wedding dress - which just happened to be her first cosplay! So - cause I've pretty much being working flat out on something and its nearly finished (X_X) I'm changing my AmeCon line up.

No longer taking Kingdom Hearts II Aerith for the ball. Taking Amano Aerith instead. I'll be wearing her on the Sunday too for a little while. :3

So here's the new line up:

So the prop from my previous journal has been made, and painted and it looks really cute!

No photos until its with its partner cosplay. :B

Ho-hum... really looking forward to Amecon. Its so close now! All my cosplays are pretty much complete. I just have a few finishing touches to do on Feena... and I think thats reaally about it. Shouldn't take me too long. :3
Cosplays are coming along nicely. As in my recent deviation, you can see I started Amano Aerith the weekend just gone and with the main bit of the dress made, I'm really happy with the way its coming. I think the jacket may prove difficult, but I think I'll be relying on good ol' hook and eyes to keep it attached to the dress.

Work is... work. I mean, my job is fine. I can't wait for payday on Thursday. I'm running out of monies. D: The UHC shifts I'm doing are... different. I mean, they're kind of good beause the 4-12am shift I do, its so quite from about 9pm I can doodle and sew if I need to. Its good. ^__^

Ohhmmm... so thats about it.

I want my Final Fantasy IV~~ *wails* It still hasn't arrived and I'm getting annoyed. *grumble*

This is generally the place I find I get most feedback so help me out here.

Rogue Cosplay right. I need more suitable shoes. The ones I have are black flats, but they're shiney and I wear them for work, so they're too smart and I can't scuff them up.

They didn't look quite right anyway. So. I'm curious.

Shoes for Rogue of Ragnarok Online. What would people's suggest? I've looked at other people's cosplays and have a few ideas, but keep in mind the time of year and the limits of shoe... gettage I have. Need refs to help have some URLs~

It is driving me to insanity.

In other news, I bought myself a new laptop. Its 17" and has a wireless card so I can be on t'Internet where ever I want to be in the house. Which is much win.
It also plays the Sims.
I love the Sims.
It makes me happy.

I have so much cosplay to do. I have to finish (and fix) Crisis Core Aerith. I'm waiting for stars to arrive to finished Rydia's sleeves.
Then I have Sailor Jupiter and Amano Aerith to get done for October.

I'm hoping to get to the Midlands Expo in September... but it may or may not happen.
And I reallllly want to go to MinamiCon 15 next year. Its in Southampton, and is thus the closest con to me.

I love how all of a sudden I've had LOADS of random people coming to my page!

I'm not complaining. It just amused me.

Is it weird that I just got back from an Expo a couple of days ago, and I'm already working on AmeCon and October Expo costumes?

I've started my Version 2 of Rydia (free, quiet evening = very productive for me). Crisis Core Aerith is coming on slowly.
And I already know what I'm doing in October.

I'm doing a Sailor Moon group on Sunday, and I'm either going to rewear Rydia on Saturday OR pull out all the stops and get on with Princess Ailish from Sudeki for October.
Or just wear Feena... Mhmm...

It was great. And I really enjoyed myself.

I'm having a serious case of blues that I'm back though. It'll pass, I'm just going to be a little down for the next few days I suppose.

Well, I've seen a few people making journals about this, so I figured I'd jump on the band wagon.

Yes, I am going to the London May Expo~

I'll be heading up on Friday night with my friends. We're staying at the East India Travel Inn (I think) so come and seek us out if you're staying there too! ^^

I'll be Kingdom Hearts II Aerith on Saturday. I'm looking forward to wearing this cosplay so much! Its so pretty, and I feel so girly when I wear it! I'm involved with a Kingdom Hearts photoshoot, a Final Fantasy photoshoot and also have a photoshoot with Haruhi of cosplaysnap too. I'll be sitting in the audience of the masquerade on Saturday too.

On Sunday I'll be Adult Rydia from Final Fantasy IV. Again, another one I'm looking forward to wearing, because its taken me so long to do! I love this costume - despite the headaches its given me! And I can't wait to enter the masquerade with it. I'm not going to win, I know this. But I'm still looking forward to it.

If you see me feel free to say hello. I don't bite. I'll be around asking for photos and stuff. I can be quite shy, so if I seem a little 'ehhh' at first, thats just my general demenor. I'm not being rude.

Hugs are fine but please ask first. Especially on Sunday. My Rydia sleeves are long. I mean - seriously long. When they're not looped around my fingers there's a dragging length of about ten-twenty centimetres. I know most cosplayers are quite considerate of others and their costumes, but there are always a few running around not so careful, and if those sleeves get damaged you will have a very, very angry and upset Silver to deal with because they took me a month alone.

Uhm... yeah. Oh! On Saturday, provided I can find some oasis and I get some fake flowers, I'll being giving them out as Aerith, so come and find me if you'd like a free flower (or I may charge for a photo. <3)

Man... I always forget about updating journals. Even when I look at them everyday.

I barely update my livejournal anymore... and I think I figured out why that is. I used to update it all the time last year. I think that was because last year was pretty crappy for me. I couldn't vent to many people. So it was a good place.
Now... well... things aren't bad. They're good. I have a new job. And things are going well. I'm happy. I have no reason to vent.
The people I vent to I see on a regular basis, and they only use their journals sporadically or to update on cosplay work.
The only journal I update is my Creative Journal *points to link above* and thats only now and again - despite my best efforts.

...Funny how things work out, eh?

Anyway... I haven't completed Crisis Core yet. I don't want to. I don't want to see the ending. ;-;

...I forget what my point of this was. Just an update I guess.
Not feeling especially inspired at the moment to draw or anything. I've doodled a bit at work, but nothing big or that I want to finish. *shruggles*
I'm trying to write more... ^^... That's about it.

So - being the complete nerd I am, and the complete Final Fantasy whore I am, I imported Crisis Core. The new Fianl Fantasy for PSP, which is focal more on Zack Fair (who's only vaguely touched on in Final Fantasy VII) than any of the other characters.

And...

Well - to be frank. I'm completely in love with this game. Its not only completely beautiful but its plain fun!

I'm going to do my best to stay off spoilers as in, not spoil anything on here but I do seriously suggest to anyone getting it. Zack is just sheer love. Seriously! He's so funny and just adorable too!
And he's got the best voice ever!
And I'm really... really starting to ship Zack/Aerith as well as Cloud/Aerith.
I'd never stop shipping Cloud/Aerith. Sorry - I just prefer Cleris to Cloti.
But there are some seriously adorable moments between Zack and Aerith... I've been so sad that I've saved just before they meet and then saved a different file after they meet - so I can rewatch the meeting scene.

I'm not a dork... >.> Really.

Its called Kosaka Academy and its is fun, and just getting started and I promised I'd plug!

Here's a bit of a synopsis!


"2016: The Year of Change"


So read the headline of every major newspaper in the world. Political officials from across the globe gathered together to discuss what was once a problem: Meta-Humans, humans each granted with a unique ability, usually the result of rapidly changing genes, making them quite literally beyond human. They were feared, rejected by those deemed normal.

And yet, with the years, this fear slowly began to abate and Meta-Humans were slowly being accepted into the world. And it was then that the world's governments held their first conference to discuss how they could further acclimate Meta-Humans into society.

Though disaster was not far off. The body of nineteen-year-old Sarah Kent was found on the eve of the conference's second meeting. She was the only daughter of American Senator, William Kent. All clues pointed to a Meta-Human by the name of Landon Kelley. He was arrested and later executed. Riots ensued and thousands of Meta-Humans and normal humans alike were killed.

To help quell some of the violence and promote goodwill among the incensed Meta-Human population, the small island of Kosaka was selected and building began. Almost a year later, Kosaka Academy opened it's doors for the first time. It was the school's mission to provide a peaceful haven for Meta-Human children, where they could grow and learn to control their powers so that they could lead the way for their kind's future.

It was, in all appearances, a brilliant idea. Now the year is 2019. A new year is beginning at Kosaka Academy. Will you be among the chosen Meta-Humans to grace the halls of this prestigious school?

Meep~!

I booked rooms for AmeCon (big convention that goes on in the UK).
I'm going with mah friends and now the rooms are booked I'm looking forward to it.
I have the May Expo to look forward to sooner (and about two months to finished Rydia).
I'm not so stressed at the moment, now that I've (almost) finished my Feena cosplay for AmeCon. I'm going to put all my efforts in to finishing Rydia, so I can get started on Refia in March or April.

So - anyone who scuttles by, who's from the UK~
You going to the May London Expo or AmeCon, at all?

I'mma be cosplaying all the time I'm there - which is what I'm really looking forward too.

I downloaded some FF albums from iTunes the other day. Complete Final Fantasy IX, complete Final Fantasy IV, the live concert, and Final Fantasy IX piano collection.

I just love listening to them. They're so relaxing. And just.... oh, I don't know.
I've always loved the music of Final Fantasy. I've been downloading it since I could and now I've got some of my favourite songs and I'm just really happy!

I'm sorry I've been a bit dead around here lately.
I haven't felt especially inspired to draw/write lately. But I've been using my time to work on Digimon: Nexus. The content is getting up, finally.
I'm such a bad procrastinator. x___x

I HATE MY JOB.

If its not some lazy-ass customer not being bothered to find a DVD for themselves, its my arrogant prick of an manager telling me my section looks shit.
Know why that is, you stupid cock? BECAUSE YOU'VE GIVEN ME NO TIME TO WORK ON IT.

We have no decent stock of games at the moment, which is pissing me off. I have holiday I can't take until April because we're having a freakin' refit in March. Our new Nintendo-merchandise section looks really cheap and nasty and there is no where near enough room for all the backstock we have. And the next person who starts going on about graphics, I swear I'm going to throttle them.

I need a new job.

Grah.
On an opposing note, my ex came into the store today, and aside from a second of nausea, I didn't feel anything. Which is a result. Seeing as... I guess a year tomorrow we would have broken up. He has blue hair now... which looks really... stupid. It'd look better if he wasn't going prematurely bald. > )

Cosplays are coming along nicely. Aerith is finished. And Rydia is about 40% finished. I have some accessories to add to the sash, and then I get started on the bodice. I bought a pattern for that because I've never made a bodice from scratch before. After that comes the cape and then the boots... which will be.... interesting to say the least. >.>;;

I've been drawing... but not finishing because... I just don't really have the gumption too. Any finished pieces haven't been uploaded. I did a Red Mage Ayren, but I'm gonna redo it, because the red I used scanned too pink. =___=
Blegh... thats about it.

So...
This is something I was talking about with a friend the other day.

Characters.
Original Characters, that is.

How do you turn around to someone and say: 'I would seriously rethink this character'. Without being harsh?

I make original characters, no secret. And a lot of characters I know start out as Mary-Sues. I know many of mine did. But over time I refine them and they become less-so. Ayren is probably the only character I have created that didn't start out Mary-Sue-ish. Generally because she didn't have a story.
It gave me a lot of time to think about her and how she could have arrived in Hollow Bastion, about her past and her personality. Making her as well rounded as possible.
Yes she'd paired with Leon, but she doesn't impinge on the main story of Kingdom Hearts. She's just there. She doesn't have a Keyblade for a weapon. She's not a replacement for Sora, nor is she a female version of Sora. She's just a character who, like all the other additional characters throughout the game, helps Sora.

But I come across characters, some of them belonging to people I know that make me cringe when they tell me about them. It makes me want to really turn around and just be honest. I am an honest person, but I don't like saying things that will hurt another's feelings.
I suppose what I'm getting at is how do you say to someone: 'your character is a Mary-Sue, whether you like it or not, and you should put some more thought into them' without using those words or without sounding harsh?

To add to these musings, sometimes I feel myself wanting to slap people. Phsyically slap people on this site. Those people who claim to be 'in love' with a character.
DON'T YOU PEOPLE GET IT?! ITS A CHARACTER. A WORK OF FICTION.
HE IS NOT ABOUT TO LEAP OUT OF THE SCREEN AND ADMIT UNDYING LOVE FOR YOU.
I have my characters paired with a canon character. Because I happen to like romance. I like to write and draw it, even if it is pretty shoddy, but I like it all the same. And that's generally the main pupose I have for that character to be paired with a canon one. But some people on this site claim to be in love, in actual, physical love, with a fictional character.
And you people WONDER why you can't get an actual boyfriend/girlfriend?
The way I see it, if you convince yourself you're in love with a character from an anime, manga, game or movie, then you're going to look for the qualities that character has in real people.
And, it might surprise you to know, that real people do not have the same qualities as fictional characters. They are fictional for a reason!

I have no problem with people being fans, like big die-hard fans of a character. Thats cool. Fangirling/fanboying is something we all do. But claiming to be in love is just... its plain unnerving and kind of weird. I mean... seriously...

It could bring me on to a rant about self-inserts but I think I'm finished now. x__x
No idea what actually brought this on. Just felt like it I suppose.

So like... after six months with no updates, I updated Digimon: Nexus.
Finally.
I feel bad for neglecting it so much. I had a pretty stressful year. But that's no excuse.

Anyway, I updated it. New layout and colour scheme. Everything's going up slowly.

Meh.

Sometimes I really find myself hating this site.
I found myself hating it so much when I was SilverWolverina and the target of trolls, constant character thievery and people hating me all because I had more pageviews than them. I really hated being popular during the time when Beyblade was in its hayday. I find it horrible to think that something that I enjoyed, that is, having Reena, and drawing her, was made so terrible and something I loathed and regretted by a few people.
I felt like I was being chased out of a fandom I was comfortable in. I felt like it wasn't fair. That was was being targetted for doing nothing, except what other fans of the show who had BBOCs were doing.
Why was I any different to anyone else?
Because Reena was around before the plethura arrived? Or because Reena was paired with Kai for quite a while?
I never understood why I was targetted to harshly and made to feel like I shouldn't be there.
There were worse people in than fandom than me. Yes, I admit, completely, that I had my moments of bitchiness. Its not something I'm proud of, but at least I'm mature enough and adult enough to admit it and feel regret for it. But I was never bad enough to deserve people mindlessly flaming me, only because I was popular.

I don't know what spurred this...
I think its something to do with all the 'Shout It Outs' that I saw a while ago.
Don't get me wrong, I think its a good idea. Getting your thoughts out like that, its good, and theraputic in a way. I tried to do one myself. But while I was doing it I thought: 'why do I need an excuse like this to get my thoughts and feelings out'? It wasn't an 'anti-bandwagon' thing. It was just me thinking.
And y'know, I don't need an excuse like that to be honest. I'm good at being honest with myself, and with other people. I damn well pride myself on being honest, and I often expect too much of people, by expecting them to be honest in return.

So when it comes to being honest there are somethings on this site that make me hate it, and some of the people on it, all the more.
For one thing, clubs.
I've said this time and time again. I've stood by what I've said and never backed down from it, because this is my viewpoint on it.
Clubs to artists are cool. I like that idea because its a place where fans of said artist can group collectivally. They can upload pictures they've done for said artist and favourite their most liked pieces by the artists.
Clubs to an artists character I don't get. When you're just reuploading pictures of that character that the artist has done, or fans of the artists have done. Its a waste of time and bandwidth, and when people do a search, they end up getting the same picture three or four times because its been uploaded in all these clubs to this character. I just don't get it.

Likewise, but not on the same length, making accounts for your characters.
Oh my god. I don't know, when I see this, whether I want to laugh or scream.
If you're really that desperate for people to comment on your page, comment on theirs. Nine times out of ten people will visit your page, out of curtosy and post on your dA page out of politeness. I don't understand people who make dA accounts for their characters and have their character post on their page. The character you created is not real! No amount of dA posts from "their" account is going to make them real.
I suppose I could say I did something similar a good few years ago. When Beybalde was popular several of us in the Beyblade fandom made livejournals for our BBOCs. For fun. We commented on each others journals and had a giggle and then it died.
But it was fun. I don't think any of us were under the impression that having a journal for our BBOC made them somehow real. I certainly wasn't. But I don't regret having that journal for Reena, because I made a friend out of it!

And another thing. Being forcibly Emo.
Take your self-pitying elsewhere. I do not tolorate it. And I'm not sorry for it. And I will not feel sorry for you.
We all have our problems. Its a fact of life. Its something everyone has to go through. No one likes going through problems, least of all the scary hard ones we all have to face sometime in our lives, but we all do it.
No one problem is the same, we all come from different parents, different backgrounds, we're all individual, so our problems are all singular to us. But you see some people getting on with things, biting the bullet and getting on, without a wimper, except to their closest friends. I did. I sat around doing NOTHING.
It was BLISS. I had the house to myself, it was quiet and no one around to bother me.
Just me, mah laptop, the fire and music.
Wonderful.

Any resolutions?
I don't make resolutions. I prefer to make promises. Less chance of me breaking them.
One of them is to try and write more. And another is to get myself stuck into Digimon: Nexus again.
I (finally) finished episode 10 today. I wish I had more to update with, but I will try and do an update on the site at some point.

I'm thinking about making an account to upload Nexus here.
Just an idea. I doubt I'll do it.

I get slightly pissed off that the writing I upload gets like... fuck all feedback. I put 'advanced crit encouraged' because I want to be told where I can improve. I like getting feedback on my writing. I want to improve. For myself. I've given up dreams of ever having a publication; but I like improving, hence the choice to allow crits.

Okay. Rant over.

My birthday was yesterday.
I was twenty-one.
Becuase I've been ill lately I didn't do anything. I woke up at eleven, opened some cards, had a shower and went back to bed until six.

Unfortunately I've been stuck down with a stupid virus since last Saturday. Woke up early Saturday morning and was running hot and cold, while sweating constantly. I was sweating so much my t-shirt was soaking and my hair was damp too.
Called in sick to work and tried to sweat it all out.

Without much luck. I've been being pretty sick since then, and everything that's come up has been green. So I have to get a doctor's note off work.
As you can imagine, my boss isn't very happy about me being off the busiest week of the year.
But its not like I PLANNED to be ill, like I wanted to shout at him on the phone earlier.

Anyway... yeah. A really unexciting 21st birthday.

I didn't realise until a girl I work with said to me: "ten days til our birthdays!"
I'm twenty-one in ten days. T^T
I guess I should be happy. Twenty-one is a milestone, and I've only had one mental breakdown in life so far.
I'm... technically having three birthdays.
One with my dad, one with my friends and one with my mum, and family I live with.
Not sure what I want... what I'm getting. It gets harder to say what you'd like for your birthday the older you get.
Though I love the new iPod Nanos... but I got one last year, and I love it too much. Plus the new ones are so slim I'd feel like I was gonna break it. x_X

I've been off work for a week or so. I injured my toe, but its getting better slowly. And those days have been occupied with RebirthRO.
Oh yes. I joined a private server after getting fed up with paying to play, and not making any headway on my characters, because no one I know on there is ever around when I am.
Plus it means that if I suddenly don't want to play, I'm not going to feel guilty because I'm wasting money.

Christmas is upon us. I should really get started on people's birthday presents that are this month. And Christmas presents... not that I've done Christmas presents before... or ever... I'm not really a big Christmas person, I guess.
I think my view of it was ruined by working in retail. Seeing everyone barging around through November and December, less consideration for other people that usual really gives a black tarnish to the month, supposedly, of good will toward your fellow man.
But maybe thats just me who thinks that way.

Soo - you may (or may not) have noticed that I haven't been around much or even at all lately. (LoL. I doubt anyone really cares, but there we go).

The reason?
Work.

Christmas hours in retail have officially begun.
And I am being raped by work, backwards, forwards, sideways and inside out to do as many hours as humanly possible without causing me death by over-work.
And I'm not over exaggerating here.

I'm lucky if I get out of work on time at the moment. And I'm in most days for eight or before.
It sucks, hugely. And leaves little time for me, personally. I get just enough time to sleep and eat. Occasionally.
So there we have it. Do expect much in the way of posts, or art or anything.

(And seriously, anyone who says "oh, I really want to work. I have school/college etc." I will turn around and beat you down. School/college, oh, you have NO idea how easy you have it. Stay in your protected little bubble of teachers, students and learning. Cause work and the reality of WORK (not the shite you see on stupid television shows) is nothing to be yearned for.
Oh yes. I'm pissed with people who bitch about how much they hate college/school/getting a fucking education. I'd do ANYTHING to go back and learn again.
I MISS LEARNING.)

I'm getting really sick and tired (no pun intended) of my health in general.

I called in sick a couple of days ago with a chest infection. I haven't hada chest infection for years. I'm not especially asthmatic any more, so hearing that I have a chest infection is a bit of a surprise.

But when I saw my doctor I told her I'd been feeling really run down and constantly tired for the past few months, so she organised some blood tests for me. I had those today and get the results next week - so fingers crossed there's nothing bad, but I also hope they can shed some light on what is wrong.

Anyway - I figured I should do an update about the London Expo I went to over the last weekend.

It. Was. Awesome.

Saturday I was only there for two hours and spazzed and went hyper, so I managed to get that out of my system before Sunday.

Sunday was great. I have officially caught the cosplay bug. It was so much fun going around in costume, with my friends and other people in general and not feeling out of place. Though my Tifa costume needs a few repairs, unfortunately.

The Expo itself was just a lot of fun. It was good to see other people so into it. And even better to see big groups of them. The Kingdom Hearts group we saw were made of AWESOME.

I've got a bigger update on my LJ, with a lot of photos, so maybe I'll link to that at some point.

Anyway... thats about it at the moment.. >.>;;

Is it really that difficult to leave a goddamn comment that isn't just one sentance and actually has something to bloody-well do with the picture?!

Usually, I don't let this get to me.
But its not difficult to leave a comment that actually has the picture or piece of writing in question at the centre of the subject.

When I comment on things, I TRY to make them a couple of sentances in length. And actually TRY to make them relate back to the picture.

I don't see why other people can't do the same.

I'm really sorry if this pisses people off, and they think this is directed at them, but I'm really pissed about it.
As I said, usually I don't let it get to me. But reading a few of the comments on my most recent picture something made me snap.

Anyway - that aside, many thanks to people who offered inspiration ideas and links to inspriational communites. Much appreciated, and I hope I'll be able to write something decent from some/any of the ideas people passed on and offered.

I'm knackered from work, but I've got another four days before I have a day off, and then two days before having a few more days off after that.

I may try and draw during that time - but I'm not sure. I haven't felt very inspired or anything for a while in the drawing department. *shrug*

My cosplay for Anime Expo in London is coming together. My Tifa top is looking good, and despite the fact I'm having a LOT of issues with my shorts, they are starting to look alright, and hopefully will be okay to wear for Saturday and Sunday.
If you're going to the Expo let me know (and let me know who your going as) so I can seek you out. (I'll be joined by a Yuna, Rikku and Paine, we'll be pretty easy to spot, I imagine).

I'm feeling a bit.. well run down, in the being creative department. I mean, I've done bits and pieces of writing. Some short, some long. Some I'm happy-ish with, others not so much.

Well, fucking done.

Y'know, I can't help the fact I'm human, I really can't.
But I hate humans. I hate the human race. And what they do to this planet. And what they do to other species - who have been here for millions of years and before humans.

We over populate everywhere. We're supposed to be the most advanced species on the planet, so why the hell don't we freakin' act like it.
Instead of doing concert after concert which are just publicity for over hyped, no talent celebrities, maybe people should actually do something to stop stuff like this happening.
Today the Baiji. What about tomorrow? The African Elephant? The Blue Whale? The Komodo Dragon? The Lowland Mountain Gorilla?

Where's it got to go, until people start taking notice of how much we're actually destroying this planet and pushing so many species to the brink or, in this case to utter extinction?

I was really bored today. And cause I've recently completed Pokemon Diamond, I felt like trying my hand at trainer cards that I saw popping up like daisies recently.

So I did one for Kaile and one for Raiya, because I like them the most, and Xennia hasn't got a design yet.


This is Kaile. Obviously.
She's a Johto/Sinnoh player. She travels with a Houndour called Murky, who she does occasionally battle with, but I forgot to add him. *is an idiot*
However, this is her best team.


This is Raiya. And she is generally seen with Reed, her Hoothoot. Who doesn't battle.
She's originally from Johto and then goes through Hoenn and to Dotrea (my original region).
I'm really pleased with how he outfit came out on this. Huzzah!

....I'm hungry now... *wanders off to find food*

I also want to write... and draw... mostly Leon/Ayren stuff... They make me very happy.
Which is a big thing, considering I find myself immensely angry.... most of the time!
