_{hey everyone!

gosh, I haven't been too active on dA recently and I feel really bad. I have hundreds of deviations I need to go through, and many comments and favorites as well. I started college almost a month ago now, and I'm having a really great time..it's a lot of work though, and I haven't had much time to take any photographs! It's driving me mad. The photo majors are going on a field trip this weekend though, and I'm super excited. My laptop broke, and it's being sent out to Texas to get fixed today..it really sucks. I won't be able to process and upload the photos from the trip for at least a week..that's going to be the hardest part for me, hahah I'm such a nerd.

blah, my laptop hasn't left yet and I'm already mourning it's loss hahaha.
I dunno what else to say. You guys are amazing as usual for all the comments and favorites, it takes me forever to go through them all! I hit 7,000 views! I'm really amazed, since I haven't been online like..at all.

I love you all so much, I really do. You guys inspire me so much. I joined dA in late 2005, and I met some truly amazing people who pushed me to continue to draw..(even though I was horrible) and inspired me with their artwork to push myself and my creativity as far as I could. Eventually, I picked up a camera and began taking more and more photographs and fell in love with the medium. It's almost been four years now, and I look back at my original dA gallery and laugh. It's amazing how much my work and vision has changed, but I know that if it wasn't for the people I met here on dA; I would not have continued with my drawings and photoshop designs and I would not be where I am today. I am enjoying every second on my life, and I owe so much of that to dA.

I'm just going to give some shoutouts to the people that I've mentioned, who pushed me to be the best artist that I could be and helped me to get to where I am today. Even though we might not talk very much anymore, I owe you all so so so much!! Thank you

_{just a small update. I'm home from Rhode Island now, and I'm packing like crazy for college. I'm really sorry that I haven't been able to respond to all your comments and messages, I'll get around to it as soon as I can. My birthday's in a week! I'm so excited, but I have no idea what I'm going to do hahaha. I've got a photoshoot lined up for this week, and I'm really excited about it :]

I leave for Delaware on Aug 27th, and it's really nerve-wracking but exciting at the same time. I can't wait to get there and decorate the apartment, it looks so plain right now haha.

Summer!

_{I'm so happy that it's finally summer. I've been super busy, but I've found much more time and inspiration to take photographs. College orientation is this Friday, and I'm going to Wilmington on Thursday. I'm soo excited to meet all my classmates, and finally see my apartment! I'll probably post a picture of it into my scraps or something. I got my roommate information a few days ago, and I was so happy to find out that she has a dA! Her work is really brilliant, I wish I had her drawing talent..actually, I wish I had any drawing talent, haha. So yeah, I'll be in Delaware really soon and I'm excited to get more of a chance to see the city and the school. I'll be back in Rhode Island the first week of August, and I can't wait to escape to the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and sunrises [and take photos, of course]. After that, I'm going on a road-trip with my boyfriend for a week or so. I turn eighteen on August 23rd (remember it ) and I move into my apartment August 27th. It's going to be a really busy summer, but I'm enjoying it. I apologize if I haven't gotten back to you or commented on your deviations, I'm trying my best! If it gets really bad just send me a note or something; that will probably wake me up!

My subscription is running out soon, which really sucks since all of my money is going towards college and items that I need for college right now..so if you have a spare subscription lying around..yah know I'll do something for you! I can't draw or anything..but I'll figure it out! <33

Graduation!

_{Hey everyone! I haven't updated this in awhile..bahahah. :]]
so, anyway...I GRADUATE TONIGHT!!
ahh, what the hell!? I can't believe it..it feels like the first day of high school was yesterday ahahaha, I remember it all too well. It's just insane how fast the time really does go by, as cliche as that sounds. I know that summer is going to just fly by; which sucks..but is really exciting at the same time! I can't wait until August :] I'm going to the ocean, my best friend since preschool is due to have a baby girl on my birthday, I'll turn eighteen and my Alexander is coming to visit and tour colleges here right before I go to move into my apartment in Delaware. It's all so exciting!

I know I haven't submitted much lately; I've been so busy aurgh. I'll submit a few things soon, I promise! I've been going to more and more shows and taking promo pictures for the bands in the area that want them; and I would submit more of those but I don't consider them that artsy and deserving of deviantArt. On another note, I'm going to Philly in a few days! I'm soosoosooooo very excited! It's such a beautiful city, and I'm going to be staying with two of the most amazing people I've ever met! One of them being the lovely . I'm sure I'll have some pictures after that trip, I love Philly so much and it's so hard not to photograph it..now I want to go back and revisit some of my pictures from the last time I was there, in March.

I got bangs yesterday, as well. I don't like them that much, but everyone else seems to love them! Maybe I'll post a picture in scraps or something if anyone wants to comment and see them :]

Thank you so very much to all my newer watchers, your support means everything to me and I love you all..it's taken me awhile to get back to everyone the past few weeks. Relay for Life is keeping me busy and my laptop recently died (it's fixed now..watching your entire world get taken apart and put back together in front of you is a horrible experience and I don't ever want to go through that again..I'm waaay too attached to my laptop ) I have a lot of deviations I need to comment, and I'll get to them all soon..I promise

_{hey everyone. I have some really cool news. I had totally forgotten that I submitted some of my photography to my highschool's art/literature magazine called 'Beginnings'. My friend is in charge of the submissions and just told me that about ten of my photos made it in. Biiig thanks to Tim!

Also, I lost my Great-Aunt and Grandfather this past week. It's been a really tough week for me and my family, and I apologize if I haven't responded to your messages/comments/etc. I'm just getting home from my Aunt Jeanne's funeral in DC and Relay work is being thrown at me almost too fast for me to handle.

also told me about an HDR program that I had never tried, and I got my hands on a copy (thanks to ) and I'm having a fun time with it!

_{Just a little update.
I got into Parsons, SMFA, Corcoran and DCAD (4/5 schools that I applied to) and have recently decided that I'll be attending DCAD in the fall (haha, sorry; Skyler.)

Spring is sooo niiiice after this horrible winter.
it's so nice to be able to sit outside and not freeze
all I need to do now is get through the 49 days until graduation. Shouldn't be too hard, I just wish that it wasn't going as slow as it is.

bamboozle is this weekend, I'm excited to see third eye blind.

News

I just got my acceptance letter from DCAD! (Delaware College of Art and Design). I'm really excited, it's an awesome school and the housing is very nice. Oh, and they're giving me a $2500 scholarship! I haven't decided yet if I'm going, I'm still waiting to hear back from SVA, Parsons, Corcoran and SMFA. It's still very exciting though!

I'm going to Philly this week to a conference with the organization Global Kids. I'm excited! It's my first time going and I get to see a dear friend of mine for the first time (and hopefully her twin as well! It's exciting, I think I'm going to do some HDR while I'm there. I haven't done much with my XSi yet & I need the practice bad.

Hmm..what else is new. I can't think of much that's worth talking about. I'm just really excited about getting into DCAD, haha.

March Features

Spring!
March is one of my favorite months because it marks the end of the cold winter and the beginning of spring, so here are some lovely spring themed photographs!

News

I'd like to start this off by saying, wow. Obama has finally made it to office, and I could not be happier; but I'm not here to be bashed and criticized for my opinions to I'm going to end it at that. It's a new year and a time for changes. I've been really busy with college applications and a whole bunch of recent drama but the one thing that has kept my head on my shoulders is my camera, and though I seem to be hibernating through this harsh winter, I'm really going to try and do more soon. I think I might be going to Washington DC within the next week or two to visit the school of my dreams and I have some amazing guides who are well prepared to take me around the city (I've never been!) so it should be very exciting.

On another note, after thinking about it for months..I finally bought a 3month dA subscription! yay I'm excited, I adore the features! If only I could afford some of the prints that I want now, haha. Oh well!

I'm still trying to get used to using a DSLR rather then the point and shoot I had, and I'd really appreciate ANY tips you might have for me. I'm currently shooting with a Canon EOS rebel XSi (for more info, note me?) thanks!

Oh, and thanks so much to everyone who favorite'd Longing ([link]) I would very much have liked to comment you all, but I just didn't have the time..so thank you again!

New Gear!

_{I just ordered my first DSLR. Woohoo! I had to sell my powershot which was really depressing as I've grown quite attached to him; however. I've ordered the Canon EOS 450D (rebel XSi) and I'm sososooo excited to have it! I got a really great deal from B&H on the body, a 18-55mm canon lens and a 75-300mm canon. If they arrive on the expected date, I should have them before I go away for a few days!

_{k, so. I just thought I should update everyone on what's going on before being a senior and worrying about college eats up my entire life.
I finally got into a photography class! I'll be taking a beginner class for the first semester, and then an advanced class for the second semester - so no worries, it's all digital and if I like any of my assignments I'll be posting the results ;]

About college:
yess, photography is going to be my major and I'm so excited, but all the applications and visits and SAT/ACT prep is so stressful -_-; my two favorite schools right now are Rhode Island School of Design and School of Visual Arts - I'll be applying to Academy of Art University, Fashion Institute of Technology, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and a few more. If any of you have any good suggestions, I'll be really happy to look at them! <33

Hopefully once school starts, my schedule will be a bit less hectic and I'll be able to set up some more promo shots and photoshoots with lovely models <3 hehe, if I don't reply to your comments right away - I promise I'll get back to you soon<3

So, I'm in Rhode Island! I'm staying at my great aunt's house which is a block away from the ocean, and I'm hoping to go to a lot of fun places and take some fun pictures :] I know I haven't been too active recently, but summer's been keeping me busy. I'm going to be uploading a lot in the next few days :]] I love the ocean so much, and I've been coming to this beach since I was born - as was my mother, and her father. It's a really special place to me :]

So, with the help of I've been able to figure out how to do some decent HDR shots :] I'm very excited about this, I love HDR! I hope to get some more really cool ocean shots before I leave, and you'll probably be seeing a lot more HDR from me..hehe.

_{hey everyone, it's been awhile! hehe.
anyway, I thought I'd take some time to update you all a little bit . Today is my second anniversary with my boyfriend, and I will be going to visit him in ~two weeks or so. It's very exciting I can't wait to get a nice vacation away from here, it's much better. I'm so glad summer's here, I'm finally a senior! University seems so close at this point, and I'm looking to study graphic design and photography, if you know any schools that are good in that department - please let me know! I'm mainly looking around NYC and Boston, but I've got a very open-mind! I can't wait to graduate, it's finally starting to feel real.

I'm really hoping to experiment with some models and bands this summer, I need a lot more practice with humans, hehe. NJ models and bands, hit me up!

Oh yeah, and I'm trying to get a subscription to dA, but I currently have like *no* money at all I hate to ask for things like this, but if any of you would be willing to donate a few dollars to my cause I would greatly appreciate it & love you forever!

Academy of Art University

Alright, so all of my friends know that this past weekend I went to NYC for two days, and I went to the open house for the Academy of Art University. It's a really great school, and with everything that I hear about it, the more I like it.

They really liked what they saw in my portfolio (which isn't too much, I haven't made too many prints yet).

So, I'm *probably* going to join in their summer program and study with them for six weeks this summer.

I'll be aloneee in San Francisco for sevenn weeks (six weeks of school and one of orientations and stuff.) Haha. I'm so excited!!!

Creativity?

How have you been?

I'm going through a really rough time right now, and I'd really like more chances to get out and take some fun shots, but at the same time - my creativity is pretty much dead. I've been trying to come up with new and creative ideas for some pictures/shoots..and I've come up with some pretty cool ideas, but they're almost impossible with all of the snow. I know you all are really creative, and can give me some cool suggestions, yeah?
give me ideas!

I love being able to spend time behind my camera, and I'm always eager to learn more and become a better photographer. So help me!
I'll save every idea that you give me, and I promise that I'll try to use it somehow!
