I just found out we can use skins free for a while so my old skin comes back to haunt everyone for a while. Muahahahaha.

Ever since a couple of days ago I've been looking for Beta testers for Puyo Puyo Compendium 4.0, as there is a LOT of differences and additions since the official 3.9 release. (Which is still patch only, sorry)

If you are interested at all let me know, I have some testers already but the more the better of course. There is also the start of work going into a API to allow people to make their own modes but it is far from completion as I am still working out which areas are best to allow hooking into. Right now you can name your mode, give it a description, set up all the rules and choose whether to allow edit rules or not.

I need modder's help here unfortunately. I know the engine well as I created it but I don't know which parts should be 'moddable'. If anyone has any suggestions it will help a lot :s I will still add some stuff in the meantime of course.

Cleaned out all my old deviations that I didn't like (around 30 or so I think) so don't be surprised that something you favourite'd or whatnot is gone. I've decided to try and get back into drawing PPC characters so if I manage to succeed drawing any new ones I will submit those since the game hasn't had a character added to it for around half a year and 3.7 is due.

A brief list of things to come in PPC is below:

GAME
- Added a difficulty select for the AI. (Easy, Normal, Core)
- Added a garbage limit of 14,400,000.
- Added an edit rules screen.
- Added Colour Battle mode.
- Added margin time.
- Added Piko Fever mode.
- Added Piko Puyo mode.
- Added sound effects to colour battle and excavation.
- Added the netplay framework.
- Balanced the scoresheets.
- Fixed a bug with restarting the match with endless fever.
- Fixed the GeForce graphics corruption bug.
- Reverted the texture loader back to its original form due to no benefits.
EASYXSCRIPT
- Added to the game.AICore collection:

On a lightly different note, one of my closest friends requested a very strange but fun project - if you had heard of the game Borderlands (which most of you probably haven't), we are going to design and build a computer case completely themed on it. I get to do the drawing side of it :3 If the concept artwork goes will I might submit it here and eventually photos when it gets built.

Last but not least, games. Got 4 badges now on Platinum, playing through it has been really fun so far - nice changes to the story, GUI etc. Looking forward to the later parts though :3 (no spoiling please!). Also been playing MS still during some weekends/evenings, nearly level 160 D; just 2 levels and 30% to go before I probably never train again.

So I lied, gonna post another journal so here I am. just 10 days until Platinum is released.. can't wait for my copy! And I'm sure most of you here have heard of the Gold and Silver remakes that are coming out in Japan this fall? If not I suggest you go research it.

Long time no post again. Blame addictions to games like Fallout 3, MapleStory and various others. I've been working on PPC without posting here, so thats not dead. As a matter of fact, I started coding a netplay system for it, so expect a Beta server sometime. Oh and I've decided to pre-order PokÃ©mon Platinum, since you get that tin and all. xD The story differences makes me want it! Speaking of games, I'm also waiting for Puyo 7... it looks so good (a trailer came out). Something along the lines of 15th but with new characters, new modes and updated graphics. I shall IMPORT!

Sadly, this might be the last journal I ever make, since my sub is running out soon =[ I'm going to miss CSS journals.. at least until I can get a new sub. xD

I need your help!

So while this PPC hiatus has been going on I've been thinking of what else I could use the EasyX engine for. I have this desire to make something big scale, but I don't know what. I just need a game to work on alongside PPC to keep my interest in both up - I finally found out why I get these hiatus'es, as I never got them when I had multiple projects. I get bored of it and look for something else to do. So the point of this journal?

I'm looking for ideas of games people are interested in seeing. It could be anything, just avoid 3D for now because while my engine supports it, I do not have 3D collision working yet.

I really really need a solid idea so please, if you have anything at all, post here. I will love you forever.

Life

Uh oh. After getting Fallout 3 and Unreal Tournament 3 I've kinda lost the will to do anything productive. I have to say Fallout 3 is AMAZING. I've been playing it non-stop for a good 5 or so hours and I've hardly touched the surface.. I think this game is probably going to be the biggest RPG I've ever played!

And Unreal 3 is now my favourite deathmatch game <3 the graphics are gorgeous and the amount of maps people have made are insane! I'm not great at the game but I still have fun online in the evening ^^

If anyone has either of these games, and play online; drop me a line!

Developments

A major update in the land of PPC. The AI core is now scriptable with a C style language. Its not finished yet but it opens up a new realm of possibilities.

So yah. I go to visit the doctor today to find out why I had heard nothing for nearly a year, and turns out I got approved in November =/ Why they didn't tell me I don't know... but apparently I haven't missed anything so I just have to be patient.

Also I want to say thankyou to for that Animal Crossing: WW fun the other day. (And the mail too!) If anyone wants to visit my town or vice versa ask me and I'll gladly let you!

Also I've gotten hooked on Unreal 2004 again, so I might disappear off the face of the earth o.o; (also thinking on getting Unreal 3...)

Developments

Puyo Puyo Compendium is still being developed, just has been a little quiet lately. 3.4 will be coming out soon with a lot of fixes, including an online help file which will replace the old Custom Character Documentation when it is finished.

Below is a list of currently added things to PPC itself, if you are interested in reading.

Note that voice pattern support will be coming out with 3.4, as the engine supported it but it was just loading internal patterns with auto-detection. How it will work now is that it will look for the definition of a voice pattern and override the existing voice pattern with it. This means you'll have to fill the ENTIRE pattern (19 chains) if you want a properly working character. Note that this will be a lot of work, but it will pay off if you want custom voice patterns. (Meaning characters like Strange Klug could be made with the correct PPF2 pattern, as an example).

PPCEdit has been revamped and now comes with autocomplete, fixed scrollbar bugs and some other minor things.

- Added scrollbar buttons for vertical scrollbars.

- Fixed piecesets.
- Fixed piece drop locations.
- Fixed ratio scale for PF mode.
- Fixed the loading threads.
- Released support for custom voice patterns.
- Sped up clearing magic.
- Updated the AI core to ignore garbage while in Fever (Mania Mode)

Haven't posted here in a while but WOW. The new user pages are amazing. If you are a subscriber I recommend going to test it! You can customise EVERYTHING, drag it around and even add new custom modules. Oh, and I also got new headphones which are amazing. Wireless FTW <3

Developments

PPC Work has been slow (still at 2.1 at the moment) but for good reason. I've been writing a fully functional DirectX game engine in Delphi. Its been around a week so far of solid coding, but its coming along really fast. This means I can drop my old language and code in Delphi for future projects because PPC itself is very slow compared to what it could be. (I might convert it to my Delphi engine and cause a long pause between)

It currently has 2D and 3D rendering (Direct3D), keyboard input (via DirectInput) and music. I'm using FMOD for the music as I don't plan to sell my work and its the best sound library out there.

Technical stuff aside, I wrote a puzzle editor for PPC recently as well, which means in the future I plan to have a puzzle mode. At the moment its use is editing fever chains and colour patterns for colour pattern mode.

Also, I don't know if anyone has noticed the Xerodox redesign but it might be closing soon - we shall see.

Life

Haven't had much to post lately as all I've done is work on PPC, but if you want to hear about that, I will post more in a second.

So I recently decided to go and import Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary from Play-Asia.com and I can't wait for it to be shipped.. they say estimated date is the 14th. (Its not the broken version don't worry!) I'm a lil worried about the fact it'll be completely Japanese but I will just ask people to help >_o (and some of it is probably easy to figure out). It'll aid PPC as well.

Not to mention that life has been incredibly boring lately. Being stuck indoors SUCKS, bigtime T_T. I need to get out more. Oh well; thats one of the reasons why I've been working on Puyo Puyo Compendium so much. At least its getting somewhere fast.

I recently updated the game's engine to play more like fever. (V0.7 is currently out, if you want it click here)

I posted a video recently and I don't know if any of you watched it in the first place, buuuuttt since that video I've done even more to the engine. (That was before the speed changes) 0.7 has the changes.

What I have done for 0.8 however, is this so far:

The fever engine one I finally fixed because a friend kept bugging me about it! I was really stubborn about fixing it because it seemed like cheating (how he was saying it worked), but I went and played PPF this morning and I noticed he was right. So I am sorry for overlooking that one. D;

Now I just need motivation to make more characters. I got flamed when I made Amitie because she wasn't perfect >.>. I'm going to be sticking to finishing off the SF cast until I get in the right mind to draw more Puyo characters. I do not want another flame war.

So I decided to go through and delete all my old junk from my gallery to clean it up, and I notice that people stopped noticing my work after about 2005... I guess I shouldn't complain but I do miss when people cared. Either way my gallery is cleaner now.

My laptop finally arrived a few days ago and I couldn't be any happier with it <3

I already listed the specs in the other post so I won't do it again here.. however I will have to try and get some pictures at some point.

Xerodox was closing but now it is not.. had a few issues over that but I think the hosting is still going to continue.

My latest project is coming very nicely (I posted one screenshot already), but since then I have devised a pause menu and character select. Bear in mind no characters have been made yet as I am waiting for voice resources to be collected. However my new laptop can record sound in videos! So because of that and the fact that it is dual core.. this will make videos very nice indeed

I've started Xerodox back up again since SunsetStory got to the stage where it wasn't played by anyone (people obviously only saw a private server for levelling and wanted 1000x+ rates). The server is now being used for my Xerodox projects and means the games can have online servers in future. So in a way its a bonus for me.

I am still lacking inspiration for art =\ but as I stated to someone who wondered where my art was, it'll return when I get to the character art for my latest project. Thats gonna take a lot of work and probably involve 60 different characters. I will most likely be posting them here.

Life

Its been a while. xD I've been very busy and just haven't been posting (you'll see why in a minute). I thought summer would be quite relaxed but obviously not . I got my Paypal finally verified today after waiting ages for a letter from the bank so I could use online banking. At least now if I need to pay with paypal its there.

Also, I recently got hold of some hair straighteners (my hair is naturally curly, not badly but still. I hate it >.> ), and tried them out yesterday. Its made such a difference and I love my hair now <3.

Developments

This is there all the busyness comes in. NinjaMS recently changed its name to SunsetStory, as the name Ninja was overused. A few days ago I "merged" with another server which was hacked, so basically now, I have their dedicated server, while their players have somewhere to play. I also made the owner of the other server a GM so he still has admin powers over the game. I also said he can appoint GMs from his old staff but so far he hasn't thought of any. The merge went quite badly at first but its settled down now. There were some clashes with members because both servers were very different, but the members that did stay from the merge are happy now.

I haven't drawn anything in a while, (artist block) but I really hope my inspiration picks up again soon D:

Life

So I've pretty much completed PokÃ©mon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers ot Time, apart from recruiting some of the legendaries from the event dungeons. I'm level 76 as well. xD Yesterday I went to visit a friend in Sittingbourne and I came across a copy of Guitar Hero for DS for really cheap! And I'd played the console versions before so I thought it would be fun. I wasn't wrong either, the game is really addictive xD I am gonna have to make sure I don't get hooked to the point of no return or I will be doomed!

I also got my college results yesterday and it seems I have passed! I'm really happy <3

NinjaMS is getting incredibly stable now, most things work. Only a small list of missing features now. It's probably at the point of Odin almost, apart from a lower version of MS (I'm using v53 of global since I don't feel like upgrading). There isn't much in the newer versions anyway so it doesn't matter too much.

Also, NinjaMS is going open beta soon. I just need to code job advancement NPCs and then its ready to go. I even coded my own scripting language for NPCs so they can be coded without having to restart the NinjaMS server. Registration and character creation works already so in a sense its open already, just you won't be able to advance very easily.

Life

Its been a while again xP. Things are doing really slow because well, its summer! I've not got much to report regarding my life. I've been out a few times but nothing much else, apart from gaming. I've gotten addicted to PokÃ©mon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time which I got a couple of days ago. The story is amazing O: I won't say anything though incase anyone else has/wants it (:

NinjaMS is still my main project. Its getting more and more like GMS in terms of functionality. The closed beta has really helped me fix bugs and add new features. I'm really pleased with the progress. Hopefully the comic that me and my friend are planning will be started soon. I'm going to visit this weekend to try and develop some of it. If anything is done I'll be sure to keep you all informed.

Life

Long time, no post. It certainly has been a while since I've actually posted here. A few weeks anyway. Not much has really happened so I've kept away from the journal posting. I might as well summarise what has happened however.

College ended last week on Wednesday, and I saw a psychiatrist on Thursday (no I'm not insane! xD). Since that time I've been quite free.. which has given me a lot of time for artwork. I'll keep up with my wallpapers as much as I can, of course.

A new line of art that I might be making however, is a comic. Me and a friend decided to team up to make one. He'll be writing the script while I draw the comic. I can't promise anything but if we get anything done I won't hesitate to submit it

LeChemiste, if you see this please let me know if you still want to do out collab. I don't mind doing the lineart for the pirates image you suggested, but I need more information. "Pirates" is too vague. I little insight onto the scene and / or characters would help a lot. Thankyou!

Developments

NinjaMS has reached closed Beta now, but I've paused working on it. The reason? OdinMS may be getting sued. While NinjaMS is my own code, I don't want to take any chances if Odin does indeed get sued. I'll shut down if it does. I've got no other projects to report apart from that one.

Grr. Stupid deviantART's journals are broken at the moment. I tried to change mood and the whole journal disappeared! I had to retype this so parts will be missing

Life

Quite a lot has happened recently. Its kinda why I've been slow to update recently. My latest artwork is still being drawn.. curse me trying a new style, its taking so long to draw it!

Anyway, its been quite an interesting week. On Tuesday I found out I didn't have to go to my Friday lessons anymore as I had finished that part of the course, which is good, because I hated Fridays the most. Now I just have 2 assignments to finish, and then I've completed the course. One of them is a Flash project which I've made and just need to write up, while the other is an assignment on designing HCIs, which is easy enough. I should have these done quite quickly and then college is over! Then I'll have more time for art and stuff.

Wednesday was the most important though, I spoke with my counselor again and a LOT of things were sorted out. I'm getting so far now; I just hope this positive road continues. On saturday I got a few letters regarding the same thing and I need to ring back Monday for an appointment, which is another positive thing. I'm getting somewhere!

Developments

NinjaMS is in full swing again. I've gotten some more things working, and shops are finally working properly! Meaning I can start looking into potions and other things lke return scrolls. Beta registration is also open to anyone to join, and people will be selected before the testing period begins on July 1st.

I completed my C# game project this week as well, giving me room to work on NMS and Zakron. Zakron is a 3D engine I'm working on to allow me to make 3D games with ease.

When I have more free time I'll try and get my latest picture complete, and I'm sorry I haven't had anything to post for a while

Life

Some people are just idiots. Last night I posted a topic about how I wanted to quit the development team of NinjaMS (I was getting overworked and stressed) and wow a few people went insane. Someone even deleted every member apart from himself, so me and the domain owner are going to remake the site from scratch and just work on it on my own time instead of under the pressure of everyone else. If they don't like it screw them. I have commitments.

Developments

As you know NMS's site got comprimised. I'll let you know what happens when it happens.
My own site however has been getting better. A lot of things are functional now and its looking nicer. If you feel like taking a look click here to see. Some stuff still needs to be added but the forums and some other important things fully work now. (Like the news archive and flash page)

I've not come up with any new art yet, but I'm trying to keep you all at least posted about updates so I don't seem like I've disappeared off the face of the Earth! If I come up with inspiration I'll draw something, I promise o: I may be doing an art collab with but I don't know yet. If I do its probably going to be pirate related. At least thats what we sorta agreed on so far xP

Life

So recently I visited my local doctor, and he was really good. I got exactly what I needed, a referral to the proper place for what I want. I just have to wait for the appointment to come in the post, which could take around a month. At least I'm somewhere. Friends seem to be coping better as well.

Developments

Development has been slow this week. I've been taking it easy since its half term. I hope to at least draw something by the end of the half term. I feel so lazy D:

Life

Hi! Long time no post, as usual

I finally got around to buying a sub. I wanted all the features like customising journal and I had spare money at the time, so ya. Here I am. I also have a Fella plushie coming my way! I've done some journal customising but if you have any suggestions for improvement or whatever let me know!

Quite a lot has happened since my last post. I've been to a few counselors and will be seeing a doctor to sort myself out. At least I'm on the road now . I also got a new phone recently, and I love it to bits:

I've not submitted much art recently, and I'm sorry. I've not had much inspiration, it comes to me at completely random times. =/

I've been working on a MapleStory private server, which is coming along very nicely. Its being coded from scratch in Delphi, and there is a site for it. I've not been up to too much - just work mainly. I recently got a job as a web designer, its sort of freelance; doing jobs as I am assigned from home when I am free for various clients.

I am more confident in myself though, as some of you know what I am going through already - but I've learnt to just let my feelings out naturally and just be myself, so I'm more at ease about that; even if some people think I'm wierd or just plain stupid.

College is going ok, although I fear that I'm going to fail >< there's 2 units which I absolutely hate and I am not doing very well in them.. thank god this is the last year, so even if things do go badly, I have my job to fall back on.

Regarding my projects, I released a patch to fix SFEX a couple of days ago, which for those who are interested can get it by clicking this [link]
MegaUpload sadly, but it gets mirrored to another site sometimes. I will have to release a small EXE patch too, since thats the full installer (updated).

VEGA 2, my latest project is coming along nicely, with 16 maps and a stable engine. Still working on that.

Also, to aid my site, I am running a WAMP server on my laptop now, so I can test my site without needing to upload. It also means I can work on new features for XeroStation ^^

I really should be making more art too but you can see I've had a lot to do recently.

However, Sinoc's Factory EX is very near release, and CC is cancelled. This has given me a huge amount of free time to start on something I actually enjoy doing.

VEGA 2 has been in development now for about a week, and is now worth mentioning.

It is a first person shooter, and unlike the first one (which some of you may have seen), the graphical abilities are much better.

What an interesting few weeks the work has been so far. They have actually been unable to get the main guy to come down and brief me on the website, as he has been in hospital (figures..). Nothing too serious, just that he managed to break his finger in several places while on job. Anyway, because of this problem, I've been spending my time making them a scheduling tool which runs off php, so anyone can access it from within the company online.

My dysphoria has kinda been on and off as well.. felt suicide several times during the week ><.. but I'm hanging in there, thanks to support from a few close friends.

Also you may have seen that I've been submitting art quite frequently recently. However now I'm thinking of taking art requests, as I feel like taking a few challenges.

In regards to my projects, Xerodox has been completely redesigned, again. [link] This time its GREEN.

Sinoc's Factory EX is further and further to being completed, only 4 characters left to animate! I'll work on CC after I finish EX most likely.

College started again this week and I'm already feeling its toll.. its exhausting getting up at 6am so many times in a row x_x . The classes have been good though so far, web design, programming..etc.
Only one unit I hate right now, systems analysis and design. Its the boring crap with the SDLC and analysing the business for the implementation of a new system..blehh.

Anyway, I gotta apologise for never being on DA that much till recently, I was kinda addicted to a MMORPG... and I managed to finally break the addiction when I started working on Vega, so expect more random submissions from me.

On regards to what I'm working on now, I have 2 games in the works. Sinoc's Factory EX, and Vega. You all know about SFA being delayed due to upload problems, but it doesn't really matter anymore. That game was badly designed. If you are interested in seeing EX or Vega, check the links at the end of the journal.

I've finally gotten back into art, which is why I came back - I've been making comics on my site, drawing characters for a game which doesn't even exist yet (the CC stuff), and just generally feeling artistic a lot of the time. Its a good feeling ^^
